A group of grown adults spent so much time cyberbullying a woman recovering from major surgery on Mother’s Day that she actually had to defend herself and her amateur hobbies… I hope you’re happy with yourselves. You know it’s gone too far when Kate, who is made of absolute steel and never lets anything get to her, feels the need to defend herself against the vitriol. That statement sounds so defeated. It was MOTHER’S DAY, people! And you spent all this time harassing a MOTHER OF THREE on MOTHER’S DAY about a picture of HERSELF and her CHILDREN taken by her husband who NEVER TAKES PICTURES? Disgusting. And just wait until any of the kids’ birthdays, or their anniversary, or Father’s Day, or any milestones - we’ll get one picture, if that, because now they have all the more reason to protect their family from the internet - and people will complain anyway! “Why don’t we get pics? Why are they so private? What do they have to hide? They’re not preparing their kids enough for royal life! They’re so bad at PR! Kensington Palace, you’ve really screwed up this time!” You KNOW why! This poor woman really made one hand too blurry and shifted a stair and this is what it’s come to? Absolutely disgusting. She must have been so sad if she was willing to make a statement - like this photo in particular really struck a sensitive nerve. All while recovering from surgery, mind you. My poor girl. I hope she’s okay, and that the kids and William are okay, and that they’re together and letting it all roll off their shoulders, and that each and every one of you cyberbullied her and treated her poorly because of the picture loses sleep tonight.

Rewind the Tape Ep 1: Fave Looks

As is the fave of many a folk who have good taste, I love the first suit above. The pearl pin.... 🤭 The warmth and how it perfectly fits those big brown doe eyes. -rip brown eyed Louis-. I'm so mesmerized by him.

But in general, aside from thee suit, I love all of the golden, brown, and amber tones Louis wears throughout this episode and what they were trying to convey with this color palette. As Carol said, the story revolves around Louis. He is our sun. ☀️ Our Golden Hour before the sun sets and night falls.

something that always gets me about louis is that he is so soft and sensitive at heart. he cries at operas, he dances with his family, he gives his sister expensive gifts, he loves to wear fun & stylish clothes, he takes photos and collects art, he loves his daughter, and he loves being in love.

and yet everything seems to trample that softness, whether it be the rugged masculine persona he has to uphold for respectability in NOLA, or the racism & homophobia he is regularly confronted with, or his bad marriages with lestat & armand, or his difficult relationship with claudia, or his struggle with vampirism/killing. and yes, he holds some of the blame in the marriages and much of the blame for claudia, purely because he was desperate to be loved and was willing to do shitty things to get that. and that is my point (yay we love flawed characters!) !! many of louis flaws are motivated by this inner tenderness and desire for affection.

all of these difficult things he goes through push him to act tougher, more assertive, more certain. lestat points out in ep 1 that louis conforms to all these roles that aren’t truly him. but after becoming a vampire, that never really stopped.

so post failmarriage with armand i like to imagine that yes, louis makes up with lestat, but he also finds himself again outside of the context of a romantic relationship and allows himself to be soft in the ways his circumstances haven’t allowed him or he hasn’t allowed himself before. because that’s louis’ whole thing, isn’t it? “botched vampire”. too gentle, too sensitive to be a cold killer like the others and cursed to be anyway. too soft for his own fangs.
