her like ‘yandereness’ would probably be similar to tim’s but instead of trying to keep reader home, she more so just watches her. like if reader wants to go to a party and it’s on a bad corner of town, barbs will give her directions to go to avoid the most trouble. probably the least likely to kill someone tbh i just can’t see her doing it.

reader and cassandra they were both raised by assassins so they probably bond over that and then how life is after leaving. it’s canon that cass can speak (which we’ve seen her do) but she uses body language instead of words. with this, i like to think that she can teach reader how to read people easier. you know, as a little bonding activity! also damian is canonically good with music (the violin specifically i believe), so reader is likely the same. so now just imagine reader playing an instrument while cass dances 🙏.

cass’s type of yandere is mostly just watching from the shadows. like reader brings a boyfriend home and cass is in the corner standing like mothman. if anyone does reader wrong TRUST cass will be kicking the hell out of them 🙏🙏.

stephanie, like duke, is the closest to the normal sibling experience one can get 😭 but tbh i see her as being more as a best friend that’s a ‘sister figure.’ plus i like stephcass so screw you that’s canon now. having improvised fashion shows at 4am, gossiping about everything and everyone (which she then tells cass but shhhh), having self care days like that’s her bff! with steph i feel like she’s not the type to actually attack anyone directly, but instead just telling cass and/or tim about whatever (or whoever) it is reader is having problems with. now if they’re patrolling together and reader gets attacked? yeah she’ll beat the other person up! Some Jiyan Fun Facts

SPOILERS: Chapter 1 Act V and Act VI, Jiyan's Companion Quest and pretty much everything in Jiyan's profile

I got the source of Jiyan's character stories from his profile in the Wuthering Waves fandom wiki, and his voicelines in game.

- As I mentioned in one of my posts, Jiyan is around 23 years old.

From what Yangyang retold in the beginning of Ch1 Act V, we know that Jiyan became General after the "Battle Beneath the Crescent".

Taoqi explains Battle Beneath the Crescent in the beginning of Act VI as a gruelsome fight that occured 3 years prior to the game's events against TDs that were native to the norfall barrens and produced by Retroact Rain.

In Jiyan's character story 2, "The Reason To Fight", Jiyan was said to have taken the role of General at 20.

In summary, 3 years have passed since the Battle Beneath the Crescent, the event that led to Jiyan becoming the General at 20. Hence, Jiyan is 23 years old during the game's events.

I would like to clarify though that it's not clear how soon after the battle Jiyan became appointed as General, and I'm going under the assumption that he got the position within the same year as the battle. At the very least, he is 20 at the youngest and 24 at the oldest.

- He is the youngest General in the Midnight Ranger's history, as described in his character story 2 : "The Reason to Fight".

This also means that Geshu Lin is older than Jiyan.

- Jiyan joined the Midnight Rangers as a medic around the age of 13.

According to Jiyan's Companion Quest, Jiyan was part of the temporary team that set the record of the Gulpuff Relay 10 years ago. One of the illusions of the audience members from that decade-old relay also describes Jiyan as a "new recruit".

Knowing that Jiyan is around 23 as of the game's events, this means that Jiyan was 13 when he joined the Midnight Rangers.

If I stick with the idea that Jiyan was 20 at youngest by the time of the game's events, this would mean Jiyan joined at the age of 10.

- Jiyan was born into a medical family, becoming his mother's assistant at age 10.

As described in character story 4: "What's inside his gourd?". As a little bonus, he stores common medicine inside his gourd.

- The scales on his left jaw appeared after his forte-awakening/when he got his powers. It seems like that's the only place where the scales are.

As described by Jiyan's Forte Examination Report: Resonance Evaluation Report.

"Post-Awakening observations found some growths that resemble Loong scale on his left jaw. No indications of progressive expansion have been detected."

- Jiyan first got his resonance power in Yuanwang camp in Desorock Highland.

As described by Jiyan's Forte Examination Report: Resonance Evaluation Report.

"Resonator Jiyan's Forte-Awakening was observed at the Yuanwang Camp located in Desorock Highland." It was recognised when Jiyan accumulated air currents to form a lance.

- Jiyan has not yet Overclocked. Apparently his frequency is highly stable, hence his low risk of Overclocking.

For those who forgot (bcs me too tbh), Overclocking is just essentially where a resonator's powers are overused, and can cause disasters. Other characters, such as Mortefi and Sanhua, are more prone to Overclocking.

Side Mortefi fun fact: his scale growth increased after Overclocking, meaning that Overclocking can change a resonator's appearance.

I would really love to go more into the lore information about Jiyan's power in the Forte Examination Report but a lot of things in it are unclear right now, though they do look interesting.

- The death of his last patient and friend, a Midnight Ranger named Beiwang, was what finally pushed him to join the battlefield. His spear is fashioned after Beiwang's own.

A summarisation of character story 4: "What's inside his gourd?" and voiceline: "Chat I: This spear was modelled after the weapon of Captain Beiwang."

- Jiyan doesn't like Bittberry, though claims to have grown accustomed to it.

Essentially his mother believed that enduring bitterness meant you will become better, and she always put it in his food. He didn't find it very pleasant but got used to it since supplies are scarce.

Side fun fact: I bring this up because you can see that he looks a bit nervous to receive Bittberry tea relative to the other characters in the Bottoms Up! Bittberry Tea Web Event lol

Lola Rennt (1998) - banger soundtrack and editing

Vertigo (1958) - the most boring of the Hitchcock films I've seen so far

A League of Their Own (1992) - makes me want to watch baseball

White Men Can't Jump (1992) - did not expect jeopardy to be so important in this film, also loved the fashion

The Fall Guy (2024) - my mum loves the original series so we had to watch this and I had an amazing time

Blinded by the Light (2019) - the dialogue is strange at times but a banger soundtrack (obviously) and some amazing editing, very uplifting and I watched this on my flight to the US btw

Good Will Hunting (1997) - I watched this during my first week in Massachusetts before starting grad school here

Alien3 (1992) - this film says so much about gender, actually

Deaf Smith & Johnny Ears (1973) - taking lots of liberties with Texan history and also surprising homoerotic subtext

Srikanth (2024) - fairly standard biopic, meanders a bit but solid soundtrack and performance

Innocent Witness (2019) - this one impressed me so much I recommended it to multiple people, also I'm an autistic person who is besties with my lawyer so bonus points for that, I could talk a lot about this too

Hunt (2022) - Probably less confusing if you know more about Korean history, fun plot twist and imo some homoerotic tension

Scarlett Innocence (2014) - tbh I didn't even watch the whole thing because I don't go for erotic thrillers, I just watched the scenes where Jung Woo Sung is a poor little meow meow

Inseperable Bros (2019) - some dialogue was a bit awkward but that might have been the translation, I like that this was about interabled platonic relationships

Remember You (2016) - the first plot twist is predictable as hell but the second one hit me in the face like a brick

The Childe (2023) - Kim Seon-ho has the range (creepy and babygirl) (covered in blood and coughing up blood)

The Good The Bad The Weird (2008) - not only the best western I've ever seen but also one of the best films I've seen this year at all

Sympathy for Mr Vengeance (2002) - very unsatisfying, but in a good way

As We Were Dreaming (2015) - the German answer to banlieu films, a film about the reunification of Germany from a different perspective than you're used to, despite living decades later and in the west I feel like I know these characters

Transit (2018) - the anti Casablanca, a double exposed picture of past and present, a Kafkaesque limbo of bureaucracy and loss of identity

Berlin Alexanderplatz (2020) - long, confusing, too smart for me and I still couldn't stop watching it. There's something very queer about this film too.

Wicked (2024) - I haven't seen the musical but went to see the film with my friend (and her family) and physically went 👀 to her every time something gay happened. I'm sorry I doubted you Ariana Grande.

Century of Love - Ep 6

Tbh, I think San went from constant arguing and his furrowing brows to "I like Vee" a bit too quickly, but I won't nitpick, because after all I like it when the show doesn't waste time 😉 Besides, I explained it to myself that San already felt an attraction to Vee, who completely dominated his life, thoughts and feelings and the appearance of a handsome, perfect in every inch rival was the trigger that allowed him to realize his feelings and push him into action. So all good!

I like both MLs in love:

Vee, who is very "new generation" (gen z?), meaning he doesn't do much drama - just vibes, (he even avoids it, what a role model), he can define his feelings, name them, he is NOT AFRAID OF THEM, he can show them, he doesn't care about rules and labels, he doesn't give in to "love" pressure, he can say no quite easily, he doesn't exaggerate, he lives very much in the moment

San is very old-fashioned, but in a good way, he poetically confesses his feelings, he talks a lot about taking care of his loved one, that it is a privilege and honor for him, HE TRIES VERY HARD, which is amazing and I really like how he tried to look nice for Vee, that he did the work to please him and woo and seduce him in an adorable old-fashioned way, to show him that he deserves the best. San is attentieve, he is polite, doting and caring and when he gets rid of inhibitions and resistance, he doesn't hide his feelings, he doesn't hold back with tenderness. I also really liked that he was worried that he wasn't good enough for Vee and that his rival was better and - importantly - did something about it, i.e. confided in Juu and listened to her advice. San doesn't waste any time at all, he immediately sleeps with Vee and invites him to his room. It's nice that they were both so low-drama with all this. I also like jealous San, but I just like jealousy shown well 😏

Since I'm a big fan of free choice in love, I like that San chose Vee, who is not Wat in appearance, personality or memory. EVEN if he turns out to be her reincarnation, he is not her and San consciously chose him, a completely different person from the (idealized) Wat.

A new love (and San's feelings for Vee are new, he is not Wat) cannot appear if the old love still exists. So a girl looking like Wat from a plot point of view can definitely mess up San's life for obvious reasons, but she can't do anything because San's heart already belongs to Vee. UNLESS San's love for Vee dies making room for a new love for the new girl, which as we know won't happen 😄

Is Vee the reincarnation of Wat? I still think not, but honestly, unless Vee regains Wat's full personality, consciousness and memories to replace his previous "Vee-self", it really doesn't matter 😚

The first of my Wild Theories turned out to be wrong (that Vee's grandma is the reincarnation of Wat), but what the show did is super cool and I'm glad they didn't create unnecessary drama and the potential San-grandma relationship was shown in such a lovely, heartwarming and positive way.

The love making scene was amazing, beautiful, romantic, sexy and tasteful at the same time. Both Daou and Offroad are gorgeous, comfortable with each other, it was a feast for the eyes and something very beautiful and romantic 💞💯

My first impression: the first watch of the show i may have been a light apologist. i was 12 okay.

My impression now: i love him in a different way, i think he's super well written and really fascinating to watch but also i think he's a piece of shit i hope you see the vision

OH right, Blue Beetle!

I really enjoyed it! I've been a fan of Jaime Reyes for a long time and I honestly never believed he'd get his own movie. And?? Such a good one???

I worried going into it that he looked too cool in the trailers. Is that weird to say? I loved dorky baby teenager Jaime when I was a kid. He felt like One Of Us, y'know? And then I watched the trailers and I was like "hmmmmmm."

But even though he's a bit older in this movie and has his shit together a little more, he's still very much Jaime Reyes at heart. 💙 Love that weird little dork of a man that always means so well, even if he doesn't always know what to do. And I found myself rooting for him so hard!

The movie was overall just really charming and fun and occasionally emotionally devastating. A good mixture of action, character relationships, humor, and politics, imo. The characters were so endearing, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how things develop going forward.

A few more thoughts (with spoilers) beneath the cut.

I was actually a little surprised by how sad parts of the movie were, but it felt right, too. The heart of the movie really was the simultaneous power of familial love and horror of family separation. Family separation really seemed to affect all the characters in their own ways, whether that was due to corporate greed, politics, war, racism, or just good-old-fashioned horrific US policy.

Like... You come to realize that it really permeated every part of the movie. Alberto's devotion to his family, the years he put into bringing them all to Palmera City. The very real fear that going to the cops would invite an unfair immigration investigation into their household. Jenny losing her parents at such a young age, and the sharp divide between her and her aunt. Jaime's family loss as well. Carapax's truly fucked-up backstory. Hell, even divisions being sown between Victoria Kord and her brother when her father gave the company to Ted instead of the person who'd built it.

(Don't get me wrong, Victoria Kord was truly evil, child soldiers and all. I was not rooting for her. But lbr, that doesn't seem to be why her equally war-mongering father cut her out of the company. You have to wonder if she would have done quite so much damage in the end if she hadn't felt such a virulent need to prove herself and destroy her brother's pacifistic legacy. But! Who knows? She might have been even worse if she'd had all that power from the beginning.)

And, y'know, all of the characters deal with the horror of family separation in different ways. Carapax became weaponized by an imperialistic power that didn't give one shit about him. Victoria became embittered, violent, and downright brutal. And Jaime could have gone the same way, so furious over the loss of his own family that he gave into wanton destruction as well -- but Khaji Da didn't let him. (WAILING.) Instead, he managed to take the same route as Jenny: transmuting his rage into a need for justice, into a passion for making the world better so no one else would lose their loved ones the same way.

Y'all, I was in there crying at a superhero movie!!! IT'S FINE, I'm FINE.

I heard that the creator of the movie hadn't actually initially intended for Alberto to die (which I understand, tbh) but I did think it was really beautiful the way it was incorporated into the movie. Bringing Mexican culture to the foreground yet again in its discussions about and attitudes toward death. God, those candles were beautiful. ;;

I mean -- as someone who literally dropped all of my DC subs the day they "fixed" Oracle and never gave DC another cent until this movie came out, I really am passionate about the need for diverse heroes. Part of the reason I felt like I was getting emotional in that theater was because I remembered how much Oracle meant to me as a young disabled teen who couldn't make sense of her trauma or her disability or her inherent power. I remember how much losing the only positive role model I had devastated me.

And like... I want kids with the same background as Jaime to see themselves in him. I want them to be able to feel the way I felt back then. Honestly, that was a lot of why I finally broke my boycott. I think characters like Jaime, while brilliant in their own right, are also important, and I want to support them.

So when I realized how raucously, joyously, passionately this movie was gonna depict Latino culture and its own diversity within the US, I was thrilled! And I cried lmao.

(What can I say, I've been kind of weepy lately lmao.)

But yeah, honestly I cheered in the theater when Khaji Da switched to Spanish. I was like YEAH GIRL.

Honestly, as a former DC fan I really loved how much thought and care was put into incorporating the really messy canonical history of the Scarab. Obviously they deviated from existing canon, but in ways that I thought were really fun and interesting. I'm excited to see what happens with the Kords going forward, y'know? I hope that Jenny, too, isn't cut out of her own family legacy. I'd never want to separate Khaji Da and Jaime, obviously, but there has to be something for that woman to do to follow in her father's (secret) footsteps.

I realize that this review is kind of all over the place (like my mind the past few days), but I really, really enjoyed it. I was feeling pretty out of sorts the day I saw it and it really raised my spirits a lot. It turns out that after all these years, I still really love Jaime Reyes! And I love his family! And I love Jenny, too!

I JUST FIGURED IT OUT. the parallels and juxtaposition between the pairs of light+misa vs L+juliette.

something i see heavily in both light and misa —one of the only things they have in common, you could say— is that they both adhere to societal expectations. like… to an excessive extent. you know? they both cling onto it for a semblance of normalcy, to capture that feeling of “i belong, i belong, i belong.”

it’s their crutch. in a life full of alienation (for light, not finding meaning in anything, for misa, the immense loneliness and lack of a social life), at the very least they can have this. although they experience alienation, at least they’re not experiencing total isolation— or worse, ostracization, being disapproved of by others.

(that last sentence would be such an eye opening sentence for someone to analyze if english isn’t their first language… /positive)

getting back on topic, light is a VERY repressed person. in the fucking cherry cola universe (aka death note including my s/i), he’s gay but is so deep in the closet he’s not even AWARE he’s in a closet, it’s all he’s ever known.

besides this (or maybe alongside it???), he’s flamboyant. he really, really is, but in canon, we don’t get to see this as much, which i interpret being due to light adhering to everyone’s expectations of him. idk if this specific facet of toxic gender roles is also prevalent in japan, but i can see light, at a certain age (somewhere from 10-12 years old), noticing adults discomfort at his theatrics and stopping immediately. (he’s kind of a daddy’s boy tbh…)

misa, too, is repressed. you KNOW she would love stuff like horror movies, gothic bands, screamo, metal, and the likes, but she doesn’t. the only interests she has that we’re aware of in canon is the occult and fashion. this is for sure due to the writer of death note’s inherent misogyny in every female character he writes, but if you employ some ingenuity (like me (⟡⸝⸝U_U) *ੈ ‧₊˚ .), you can view misa’s lack of characterization as a foreboding sign that misa isn’t okay.

misa doesn’t have any friends. we know this.

her modeling coworkers aside, the only friend we hear misa talk about is her occult friend, and she never mentions her again past the video tape arc. (yeah, that’s what i’ll call misa’s introduction chapters. why not? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

this coupled with her parents being murdered… misa is desperate for any sort of approval from others. i mean think about it— outside of her modeling career, she doesn’t interact with anyone! she has a room full of personal items (plushes, posters, furniture, etc), which can be completely normal, but for the sake of my headcanons, has accumulated so much from her spending loads of time by herself, in her house, alone. this is the main setting she’s in. of COURSE she’s gonna get bored with the minimalism of it and add her own personal touches!

one of the few forms of self expression she allows herself to have is her fashion, but there’s a well known subculture for that fashion in japan (harajuku, but i’m pretty sure misa’s is gothic harajuku specifically). so, to sum it up— misa has a group of people who understand her fashion sense, therefore she belongs somewhere.

(note: i am NOT insinuating that misa only wears gothic fashion to fit in somewhere. that’s a stupid af take and it just doesn’t fit misa’s vibes to be perfectly honest. what i am saying, however, is that misa freely expresses her unconventional fashion sense because she knows there are others like her. that’s all. (this is likely one of the only unconventional groups of people she’s knowledgeable about.))

i’d even say that misa is highly intelligent, given how she gathered credible evidence that higuchi is the new kira in the yotsuba arc, but she intentionally hides it. why, you ask?

because she knows she’ll be undermined by men, and she seeks approval over anything, she’s substituting it for human connection, so she just… tucks it away. (fuck, maybe she believes that her intellect will be undermined by everyone as a result of the murderer of her parents never being convicted despite her testimonies…)

touching upon the thesis of this now pseudo-essay, L and juliette are unconventional. and they don’t care lol.

it’s well known that L doesn’t give a particular shit about how he comes across to others. like the dude’s rich, he could buy whatever clothes he wants, but he chooses to wear his usual clothes because of sensory issues he wants to. his hair is messy and he doesn’t need to comb it because of how short it is, he sits in that gargoyle pose, and he doesn’t hold back on using his deferential vocabulary when the situation permits it.

before the kira case, he would solve cases from a dark room. sounds fine enough… until you hear that there is no furniture in this room and his PC setup is on the floor. 😭

L also is either unaware of social cues or doesn’t care about them, or doesn’t care enough to learn about them, leading to scenes such as:

and juliette?? juliette embraces the unconventional with every fiber of her being. as long as she’s alive, she will always endorse the unconventional so long as it’s harmless (because what’s wrong with it if it’s not hurting anyone?). they hate the word “normal” being used for non-universal experiences. having a certain blood pressure is normal. there is no such thing as a “normal” hairstyle, that comes down to personal preference.

she LOATHES the enforcement of conformity. it pisses them off to the point that they go out of their way to be even MORE unconventional, as a way of telling closeminded’s, “fuck OFF, there is nothing wrong with us, with people like me, and if you do have a problem with me, then you can kiss my heels, cause they’re landing in your face anyways!”

when it won’t come with bullshit consequences (like being treated unfairly at their job for being open about her genderqueerness :/), she doesn’t bite their tongue. they speak their mind if they hear someone spewing the most terrible of things, whether covertly or not, which is what makes juliette the only person to come to heads with light time and time again. (let’s face it, light is the type of person to get away with saying microagressions, and since he believes he’s right, he drops them way too often. and no one SAYS anything about it because “no no, light does mean it like ~that!~ he’s so RESPECTFUL and KIND :(((((((((((”)

she isn’t afraid to express her joy and wonder, even at the smallest of things. they know they can be ridiculed and judged for it, but they also recognize the importance of small joys, and that significance outweighs ANY judgement that may be hurled her way.

light and misa are both people who care heavily about what other people think of them. they conform to what’s expected of them, even if that means closing themselves off from potential happiness.

whereas L and juliette are so authentic. okay, well, maybe L isn’t authentic around prime suspect, light yagami, but!! in all the time he’s known light, he still continued to eat sweets and only sweets, y’know?? if it won’t hinder him solving the kira case, L shows up as himself, odd quirks and all (🥰).

L and juliette have discovered the secrets of the universe, that secret being “i am cringe, but i am free.” (✿ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)

but it’s not so cut and dry as that, as they have varying degrees… no, different ways that this presents itself.

misa is more likely to be swayed if in the right environment (like how she had a friend who engaged in the occult).

L doesn’t care what others think about him. he is SO uncaring, in fact, that he doesn’t feel the need to explain his behavior.

but light and juliette… they’re in leagues of their own.

light has NO identity beyond what others expect of him. this is one of the reason why he’s depressed at the beginning of the series. he’s become everything everyone’s ever wanted— for his family, he’s the perfect son and brother. for his classmates, he’s the perfect student, the perfect friend, is TOTAL boyfriend material (apparently???¿? i can’t see it lmao).

yet it’s meaningless. everything that’s supposed to be fun, like spending time with friends, going out, karaoke, hobbies, playing games, sports, academics, dating… it’s meaningless to light. it’s too predictable, he’s too smart for it, really… so it’s not his fault. it’s not his fault it’s not entertaining to him! it just so happens that he’s better, and more intelligent, than everyone else.

to cope with his alienation, he shoves himself onto a pedestal, eventually diminishing and forgetting the whole point of such human activities. he spits in the face of humanity.

he’s above it all.

but juliette embraces human life. she loves the humans, and sees the inherent worth in the human experience! she condones recreational activities such as singing, dancing, playing, relaxing. they believe that our connections with others is what makes life worth it, even if it’s connections so complex and distant that you can’t even witness them (think of produce at your local supermarket. they wouldn’t be there if the farmers who grew them didn’t exist).

juliette supports self expression above all else, whether that’s through emotions, music, writing, art… any creative means, really! it’s also why she’s so vehement about presenting the way you want through fashion, or socially, through words (heyo, genderqueer nation (⌐ᗜᴗᗜ)).

Bit of a weird question, but do Frisk and Chara have any physical insecurites about themselves right now? Like not liking the ways they look or something?

For Frisk it's mostly anxiety about how they'll look with glasses- trauma aside, there was some sincerity to being uneasy about that. Hell, when I first got diagnosed w/ nearsightedness, I avoided wearing my glasses as much as possible. ...which was dumb, but it was late high school and my vision had been 20/20 until very recently at that point.

They'd also like to be a bit taller.

For Chara a lot of it is internalized self-loathing. Any body image issues are less with how they are NOW and like... uneasiness w/ getting older. The idea of facial/body hair is a BIG NOPE for them personally even if they acknowledge that Asgore makes a beard look cool. It's just not the look for them.

Otherwise it's mostly just anxieties about wanting to try some fem fashion on occasion but also having internalized so much toxic masculinity that they are still untangling all of that. Seeing Mew Mew helped, but there's a part of them that's like, "But what if I look ridiculous?"

Good thing there are many good role models to talk to about this! Mettaton, Mew Mew, probably Dress Lion, tbh. And Frisk w/ their chaotic gremlin vibes as a fellow nonbinary human. They'll prob suggest puberty blockers so Cap has more time to comfortably figure out their gender expression... which is not something Chara even realized was an option in the first place due to being only 10 when they fell underground.

STORY :

Wizz was a fourth Warner siblings who's draft got lost before she got finished and could jump out of the paper with her three siblings. Her drawing got lost in the chaos the siblings caused when they came to life, and Wizz was accidently locked up in the vault with every one of the Warners' cartoons. Wizz came to life minutes after the vault wad closed. Since she was never finished, she was just a bunch of messy lines sketch. Her only source of amusement was her accessory that came with her character, a rainbow pinwheel.

It was only during the reboot time that the Warners decided to go look for their old cartoons, accidzbtly discovering their lost sister they never knew they had. Due to being locked up alone in the complete dark and silence from 1929 to 2020 without being able to use her toon powers to entertain herself since she was just a draft, Wizz is not completely sane (like any of the Warners tbh) and sometimes just randomly spins on herself really fast with her pinwheel, making a whiz sound, hence why Yakko Wakko and Dot gave zir that name.

They took Wizz to the animators and asked them to properly finish her design, each one of the siblings adding their little touch to it. They also asked the team for Wizz to be included in Animaniacs like she should've been. And it worked...so much that the fans grew so fond of her character that they gor bored of the other three. Jealous, the Warners tried to get her out of the show...before they found our Wizz was just trying to copy them, because ze admired them so much and took them for zir role model for how to be a toon. Since then, the four Warners still run the show together as a complete family.

Yakko : Wizz and Yakko have a rival relationship, although they still are a duo of leaders and are mainly the one taking the lead for the episodes. Wizz has a weird way of expressing herself and people don't always understand her, so Yakko gives her lessons to express herself more clearly. She is bad at humour so he teaches her jokes and puns, to which she will always laugh at, even when she doesn't get it. She joins him for educational songs and even wrote an updated Nations of the World song with him. The two will cook for Wakko and Dot exept she will let Yakko cook the meak and she will take care of the baking and desserts. They have late night talks / debates over anything and everything. They often have a "who's taller" competition due to her being almost the same size as him, which is why Yakko hates when she wears highs shoes that makes her taller. In the meantime Wizz hates when Yakko treats her as a younger sibling instead of a twin, even though she is younger by one year, and hates when he reminds her he is the oldest no matter what. The two are the lamest at technology and feel embarrassed their younger siblings understand it better than them.

Wakko : Being the middle siblings, Wizz and Wakko ubderstand each other a lot. Wakko teaches her how to use technology and the two often play videogames together. They even have a Minecraft world togethet, Wakko's the miner while Wizz is the builder. They also do silly faces contest together, that seem to never end. They get into physical playful fighrs together, and Wizz sometimes flicks his cap fowards to tease him. Wizz even teaches him some karate move. Wakko randomly falls asleep on her sometimes, and he and Dot will mostly go to her for hugs and such.

Dot : Dot was overjoyed to find out she was supposed to have a sister all this time. The two relate to each other a lot and are extremeky close. They make fun of their brothers and boys in general together. Dot loves to give her make-overs and hairstyles and sometimes get carried away with it, but Wizz absolutely loves it. Meanwhile, Wizz will design and sew new dresses for her, and picks out new flowers for Dot to put in her hair. They will go on shopping trips together and have "girls talks". Strangely enough, Dot is even more overprotective of Wizz than Wizz is of her despite her being youngest. But Wizz is still very protective of her and Wakko.

Ok so Ive been putting this one off a little bit for a multitude of reasons, most of which are some variant of "god Im so cringe", but I absolutely will ramble about them now that Ive been asked. This will be going under a read more because I go through 5 breakdowns and again am very cringe. I will also be showing each OC through a Picrew because trust me when I say my art is absolutely god awful, but all of them will be sourced.

Catherine

Ok, so she's basically the main protagonist of my little sector of hell. Her main watch model is the same as Katie's, but she does get upgrades overtime. Overall, she presents herself as a pretty stereotypical nice girl to those she talks to, and also shows a genuine interest in wanting to use her watch and skills to help those around her. Outside of yokai activities, she really enjoys all that she deems to be "cute", like Next HarMEOWny and clothing. She tends to be the most sympathetic of the party, opting to want to help yokai through words and actions as opposed to fighting them.

While a lot of her interests are genuine, some of her mannerisms are put on for those around her. She was very isolated for a lot of her childhood between consistently working parents and just not really being included in social circles, so a lot of her stereotypical cutesy vibes are just as much the only way she knows how to gain attention as much as they are for her own enjoyment. Because of this, she has a really bad tendency to become dependant on her relationships to the yokai around her, thinking that it's her only worth as a person and resultinf in an almost hero complex. So much so she often has a Pepillion on hand for when smiles are much harder to force.

(I KIND of want to add some neurodivergencies onto her, but I want to make sure I understand what Im talkkng about as well as I pretend I do before I actually go through with it)

Despite that, her primary go-to yokai is a Frostina she bonds with early on. She also usually has a Ratelle on hand for fashion-based things.

Her relationships with people are overall really chill, as she's generally nice to people. She is more open with the other watch users and her own friend group, allowing herself to be a bit more silly and goofy around them. The main stand out as of right now is I like to think Kyubi tried to flirt with her at one point as part of his "quest for hearts", and ended up learning what a lesbian is that day.

Hana

Hana's somewhat inspired off of the whole "robot from the future" line of yokai, and is actually a robot herself who was designed to help humans and yokai get along better. While designed to look like a human child, her whole body basically serves as a yokai watch, with her eyes basically acting as lenses that can pinpoint yokai. Because of this, she most often takes on the "navigator" role in more combat based scenarios, basically acting as the player in game. She was pretty much sent to current time as soon as it was confirmed shw was functional, so she has no real memories or way to travel to the time she came from.

Hana's the most carefree and childlike member of the cast, knowing a lot of things logistically but still experiencing them for the first time. Sometimes her curiosity and wonder can actually lead to trouble, but can usually be pulled out of it by others if not herself. She's actually probably the most emotionally well rounded of all of them tbh, mostly just having the occasional "Im not human" crisis and some trauma I'll get to later.

In terms of her yokai team, she mainly gets access to Don-chan who shares in her sometimes endless seeming energy, as well as Komajiro (not for any major reason, I just say so). She also has a Bruff in her team, mainly to act as a somewhat older brother figure who can ward off trouble if needed.

Okay,

This girl is definitely the most subject to change, mostly because I made her core concepts back when I only played up to Yokai Watch 2 and was unaware I'd be submitting myself to Nightmare Lore! She's honestly recieved a ton of edits up to this point as well, my main strategy being "fuck it we ball" every time new lore presents itself to me. The current hurdle I have to pass for peak Blorbo Writing is Forever Friends, which I will watch after the Ensemble Stars interest dies down a little bit and I can actually continue Shadowside.

All that being said, as of writing this post, Mariah is a half human half yokai experiment facilitated by Ancient Enma to further push the "yokai human get along" thing until his ideals eventually shifted. Thus, she is treated as a member of the Enma family even if not related by blood. She is incredibly powerful with a high aptitude for yokai skills, althlough nowhere neae as strong as the man of all time himself. In terms of scaling, she probably is in between Zazel and Enma, though there is a sizable gap between all three of them. Because she was meant to be human, though, overexertion is a serious issie. She can only exert so much power without collapsing without other external circumstances. But with power like that doesn't just come responsibility, but pressure.

In the main group, she's the more collected one of the three, reeling in Catherine and Hana when they get more out of hand. Although, this is not to say that she doesnt get into antics of her own. Given her half yokai status, she doesn't really have much need for a watch, though she isn't above summoming Venoct for a fight. Shw does havw a slightly more human disguise, though it mainly changes her hair and eyes to be black.

Mariah and Enma get along really well, and share a sibling sort of bond. They tend to conversw over food, and she occasionally joins in for the "Enma's Holiday" manga shenanigans. She does end up in major conflicts of interest with Zazel on occasion, thus causing them to butt heads now and then, but they also genuinely care for eachother's well being.

Also I might rename her to be just Mari idk lol

... okay so is now a good time to mention Catherine fucking dies-

I don't really have the specifics planned out, but I do want her to eventually fall to some greater threat. She is remembered lovingly, albeit not much of the front-less her survived. Enough for her to be out of the way by the time the watch is banished. I am admittedly breaking ome of the rules of Shadowside, that being she is very much remembered by everyone.

Anyways, enter Peg, a shut in living in 2040 who ends up coming across the Arcane. Like Catherine, Peg lived most of her life in isolation from overworking parents and hitting bad luxk in social circles, only she copes through using her alone-ness as a shield, going out of her way to avoid letting people in. For most of her life, this has been fine, as she's able to excell in all sorts of random things completely on her own. Yokai, however, are one of the few things you can't go through alone. She actually has the most trouble out of the cast trying to get things done with them, as her abrasive nature ends up pissing off the yokai she tries to talk to if anything. And while Hana and Mariah are clearly traumatized by what happened and trying to work through it, everything Peg learns about Catherine builds a really bad imposter syndrome, and another person's shadow so big it feels impossible to crawl out.

She does get along with Hana the best, who still retains a lot of her wonder in the world, which opens up Peg's eyes somewhat in turn. Where she and Mariah sometimes feel more like work partners, Hana could be much more considered a friend. Im not really familiar enough with the Shadowside yokao to give her a proper team (as I only have the anime to go off of), but if we are ripping canon rules apart further, I think she'd largely have a Wydeawake amd a B3-NK1. I also want to give Hana something kinda similar to the Yokai Watch Ogre but idk Im indecisive lol

I've also been considering the possibility of Cath wandering around as a yokai, but the ideas I've had are more "trauma demon" than anything.

Okay so a lot of her core development has also been largely put on hold in a hellscape of "Crystal needs to watch Forever Friends but hrrng no motivation", but she is alive during tne time period that would take place, which according to the wiki is also when Nathaniel woild havw been a kid. She comes from a largely traditional family who doesn't give her much agency, and often sneaks out at night to do the things she'd really like. She's generally kind and open to the world, but doesn't have a single clue who she is as a person or what she wants to do in life.

I'd LIKE for her to be friends with a significantly younger Mariah (who has weird aging bc yokai growth stuff), but I don't know how possible that is because Enma Bullshit. Her party largely consists of classic yokai, a standout being a Smogling she befriends early on. She has the marble component of the yokai watch zero built into a necklace.

What do the characters look/dress like?

The story takes place in early 2010s, as everyone is around their mid to early 20s. Bing's the oldest so they'd be about 30 now?? I think?? Everyone has their own style, but it does strictly follow 2000s fashion cuz of their age! Like an idiot, I've never bothered drawing character sheets as no character has set clothing.. but I can boards I created for a general idea of what they'd wear!

Bing;

Warm, heavy clothing you'd almost consider for mountain wear. Thick boots, lots of flannel. Not exactly a very fashionable person, but they get by with what they got.

Salem;

Modest, loose fitting dresses. Doesn't like wearing pants simply because they feel uncomfortably tight (no matter how baggy). Very much spring esc type wear due to the southern heat.

Samuel;

More retro esc clothes leaning closer to the 80s! Considerably, childish t-shirts paired with the shortest shorts. The football jock!

Stanley;

Lots of sports jackets & shoes like Nike & Adidas. While it seems like his clothes are name-brand most of them are from Goodwill or fakes lol.

What is the plot of this story?

Around '07, a car was found totalled near the outskirts of Columbia, SC. The vehicle was in such disarray that it looked almost as though it had been warped into the tree it had collided into. Branches protruded out of it's windshield, as glass laid upon the forest floor. Only one of the victim's was known to be conscious, later confirmed to be the driver, who for whatever reason had not called for help. It was presumed they had sat there instead, in a state of shock, until help arrived. In sheer terror, they stared, watching the life bleed out of their passenger's eyes.. Listening to the gurgling sobs, as his jaw lay slack. 4 hours. They did nothing for 4 hours.

They never came to his funeral.

Time did nothing but further erod his sister's mind; a shell of a woman was all she was. Yet with time can prosperity, as that husk became something more. A solution. Justice.

How does the medium inform the storytelling?

I HAVE... NO IDEA WHAT THIS MEANS.. if it's regarding how the story is being told, I don't really know? as much as I love this story, I don't know if I have the full capability to write or produce the high level content I want to make. I would love to turn it into an actual ARG but, to be honest, I don't think I have the time or talent to pull that off :(

the most I think I can do is just Tumblr rambles, tbh, as nothing I produce will properly match what is going on inside my brain. hey, maybe I might bring the game back? (most likely not BUTT it's a nice thought). The best way I can explain how I'd LIKE for the ARG would be similar to lasagna cat? or the DAD arg. Like, I don't exactly enjoy up front analog horror. I want to create something where when you first watch it it's like, "wtf was that?" yk??? Similar to to Jack Stauber's content, I want it to be weird/unnerving but not on purpose. It's something you really have to go digging for story telling content. It's not supposed to make sense as it's all content directly from a woman who is slowly losing her mind.

Salem & Stanley are infact siblings! Along with that, Bing is Samuel's older, albeit adopted, sibling. Despite being the oldest, Bing has always had a close connection with their brother's friends, whom he met in highschool. They were always seen as the "mature" role model. Finally, Salem & Bing could technically count as partners , or even exes, as they have pending feelings for each other for a while. However, neither of them really admit to that.. The most you could say they are is a situationship who have hooked up in the past.
