‘My Famicase Exhibition’ 2017

The Famicase Exhibition has started one more year in Tokyo. This is my contribution for this year: Algorithm Heaven:

What is this game about? Rhythm? Strategy? It’s not clear. We only know two things: 

1. The algorithm is hungry. 

2. We don’t want to know what happens if we don’t feed the algorithm. 

 Don’t stop dancing now, but this could be a survival horror game.

Famicase is an exhibition organised by Satoshi Sakagami, owner of Meteor shop, and every year shows fictional Famicom cartridge designs

The exhibition is also online, check the Famicase website to see all 250 designs!

Every year Meteor Club, an art gallery in Tokyo, organize "Famicase" an exhibition of fake Famicon cartridges. So after years missing the deadline I finally managed to submit a design in time and got selected !

My Famicase Exbition - LA 2023

Famicase "MODULARMONY" is being exhibited at My Famicase Exhibition - LA 2023. This work was exhibited at METEOR's "My Famicase Exhibition 2023" this past May.

A music game based on the theme of modular synthesizers. It features an "Oscilloscope" that displays the created sounds as waveforms, a "DIY" mode that allows users to simulate customization of the base, and a "Recording" mode that allows users to save original songs. -the description on the back of the Famicase

I wanted to create a missinglink between the 80's when the NES was in its heyday, Haruomi Hosono's "Video Game Music" (1984), the image of space and music in Isao Tomita's artwork, and other things that shared these contemporaneous characteristics.

My Famicase Exhibition - LA 2023 runs from August 5-29 at The Hive Gallery & Studios in LA. Please come and see it!
