When the book had just come out , the spoiler that Livvy would be killed hurt me enough that it put me in a book slump for 2 years . I genuinely hated the Clave even more from the on because they were the reason why the Blackthorn siblings never truly got to spend time together . They're family reunions we're always this repetition of "two steps forward and soon after two steps back" . Now they'll never be reunited and it breaks my heart

Diva this is actually so valid because the first time I read Thule I low-key geeked the hell out at the thought of the TMI gang being dead 😭😭😭 attachment to these books go INSANE like they where so serious to me.

Also I AGREE!! It really adds onto the blackthorn tragedy, mostly because they never really get the chance to be together. Justiceee FOR THEMMMM 😭 I actually think it gives the ending of QOOAD a very oddly bittersweet feeling because everyone BUT Livvy is together again 😭😭😭😭 OHHH MY SHAYLA

So I've been meaning to talk about my wishlist for a while.. and by that I mean series/anime shows/characters who I hope to interact with in the future. It can be.. quite an extensive list, but I'm going to share with you one of those series right now.

El-Hazard

Otherwise known as The Magnificent World of El-Hazard. The original Anime came out in about the mid 1990s and.. I actually watched a whole heap of it years ago. How I stumbled across it is I actually use one of the characters as a faceclaim for one of my minor OCs (Katsuhiko Jinnai for Don Dunverlin). I very much enjoyed the story, about a schoolboy who gets sucked into an alternate dimension.

It's been a while so I can't remember tooo much, but I greatly enjoyed the story of Ifurita. At the beginning of the series it seems she knows and admires Makoto, the main character, but thanks to, well, wibbly wobbly time stuff, when he ends up in El-Hazard, the time he meets her is before she even knows who he is... and she's a completely different person. Lots of stuff about being a weapon, how she can move beyond that, etc.

I would LOVE to one day come across some El-Hazard stuff, and I'd probably be giddy if I got to interact with an Ifurita on here. The show's very old though so.. I don't think there's much of a fanbase for it. I don't know if there's still videos on youtube but I do recommend watching it!

Unless it's 'The Wanderers'. That show fucked her character and paired Makato off to someone else.

You've also got Shayla Shayla, Queen Diva, maybe Rune Venus though, I haven't watched Wanderers. It's one of those real cool old school shows that was great to enjoy back when I first looked it up.

If there's anyone who does roleplay El-Hazard muses or even any of the characters I've listed, hit me up! Ifurita is definitely on the wishlist, but anyone from the show I’d be happy to interact with!

Who is your favorite character in 2? I love the Tardis, I hope Sexy counts as a character but if she doesn’t then Rose Tyler.

Who is your least favorite character in 1? In the last season I remember how much I hated P.T. Westmoreland and Ferdinand Chevalier, the generic villains basically.  

What is your favorite episode of 4? I still haven’t finished this show but I think my favourite episode was the seventh episode of season 1 titled  “eps1.6_v1ew-s0urce.flv” .I really liked the Shayla flashback in the beginning of that episode, I miss her so much,still it was really sweet. When I finish the series I might pick another episode but we’ll have to wait and see.

What is your favorite season of 5? Season 2 aka the Punisher and Elektra extravaganza

How long have you watched 1? I binge watched the first 3 seasons in 2015 I think and then I watched each season as it aired(not really but at least I tried to watch them as soon as I could, I usually waited for the whole season to air and binge watched it but not always, the last season was hell for me, because I was so invested and I couldn’t wait, but still it was worth it) 

How did you become interested in 3? One of my teacher’s recommended the book and I read it in one night, the next thing I knew I wanted more so I binge watched the first 2 seasons (I think there were only two at the time)

Who is your favorite actor in 4? I love Rami Malek so much

Which do you prefer, 1, 2, or 5? All of them are special and important to me,don’t make me pick, 1 was the first show I watched because tumblr wouldn’t shut up about it and I was so happy to be a part of the fandom(I was a fan all of my teenage life), 2 is a show I love to watch with my dad(and mom sometimes, she falls asleep halfway through almost everytime, but David Tennant’s Ten was her fave Doctor, so I guess she wasn’t so sleepy when he was on screen) and 5 is a show I watched with my mom and I really loved the mystery kinda vibe it gave(I’m also a Marvel nerd so yeah)

If you could be anyone from 4, who would you be? No one really, these guys are a bit...just no, I wanna be Qwerty if we count a fish as a character(no spoilers please, I don’t know if Qwerty is still a part of latter seasons)

Would a crossover between 3 and 4 work? Kinda, because the world from The Handmaid’s Tale is fucked up and Mr.Robot wants to help the world in his own way, maybe he could hack Gilead or smth idk man, still it would be cool to watch 

Pair two characters in 1 who would make an unlikely but strangely okay couple? I know it’s never gonna work because he’s a nerd and she’s a diva but Scott and Krystal is what I’m saying, crack ship baby

Overall, which show has the better storyline, 3 or 5? I guess 3 is a bit more consistent, but I like 5 with all it’s flaws

Which has better theme music, 2 or 4? I mean 2 has the epic Tardis theme and lots of spacey wacey vibes, but 4 has some cool tunes as well, especially all the amazing songs (I’m still crying over Pictures of You by the Cure)

A Man On Fire - Chapter 53

“Mmmm, go to bed with me” she licked her lips and flapped her eyelashes so seductively when she said that, spontaneous combustion? Definitely! “your wish is not my command, because I want it as much as you do” he breathed in her ear before he pulled her out of sight from the fans, she was cute enough to give them a little wave before she was whisked away. Clothes were being ripped off of her body, dropping wherever they decided to fall, teeth were biting, tongues dancing, hands were squeezing like they were finding new territory, please don't let this be over in a rush was all she could think when they stumbled onto the bed and his hands squeezed tightly around her full breasts “forget about foreplay, I'm ready”. He was being pushed down, her nervous hands fiddling with his belt and zipper when she swung her leg over and straddled him, his hands instantly kneading her thighs, rubbing them up and down. “You do realize you came this close” her thumb and indexfinger nearly touched “to losing this” as soon as his cock sprang free she impaled herself on it with a deep growl “forever”, the words slowly drifted through his blissed out brain. “I know..I know..you're my only one..I couldn't go on if I had lost you” he breathed. Their eyes locked and a deafening silence fell..silence before the storm, a storm that was gonna take them both to impossible heights if the unbearable tension in her abdomen was anything to go by “then don't give me any reason to leave, if you wanna show me how much you want me and want me to stay, then do it right here and right now” her voice was hoarse with anticipation. She was gonna think about herself first and let him extinguish the fire in her belly, not the other way round, she wasn't gonna take it, he was gonna have to give it to her, stop wiggling your hips, stay perfectly still. Don't torture me babe, get those wonderful hips moving..when she just kept staring at him squinting a little bit, he couldn't hold back any longer and started rocking his hips, wanting to push himself further up inside of her. Yessss nice..she couldn't help moan and lick her lips as the friction of him moving gave her tingles all over. Soon she took over the rocking motion, it became too hard not to, this was going to be the ride of her life and the swollen, hard intruder inside of her was going to show her places she had never been.

Time just stood still and he knew that this was image gonna be imprinted in his mind forever, the way she lay there, her hair strewn across the pillow, her body relaxed and completely naked like she was meant to wear nothing else than just her soft skin. “I love you..” he breathed against her skin, “I know you do and I love you too but I'm gonna be honest with you..if any of this nonsense had been true then you would have never seen me again, it would have been the end..and the same goes for the future” she pulled up her legs and scrunched up her nose taking a few nervous drags of her cigarette. “I know..there are no more skeletons in my closet, I told you everything..I haven't been with anyone else since we met, I swear” he hastened to say “but what about you? Are there any skeletons in your closet?”. Harper almost felt offended but quickly realized that it was a valid question, why would she be off the hook? “Nope! The only thing I'm guilty of is that I can't commit, I'm a serial one-night-stand type of woman..well I was, before I met you..I slept around for a long time and then I didn't..guess I was trying to fill a void or something, guess I didn't want to be lonely but with every night I gave away I realized that I felt lonelier then ever..sad really..old habit”. He was breathless by her honesty, it just wasn't the way he knew her, yes she was a sexy beast that hadn't exactly lived like a nun, it was obvious from the way she knew her way around a man's body, she knew exactly which hidden button to push to blow his mind “give it up, the old habit, you don't need to look any further..I'm here now”. Harper's ears tingled, “ok I give up the booze and the one nightstands and you drop the Russian tarts and groupies” she took a last drag from her cigarette and pushed it out on a saucer on the nightstand before she extended her hand to shake on it but instead he leaned on his elbow and closed the deal by kissing her and crawling between her legs again, another round of heavy fucking would surely convince her.

”Shhh” he slowly looked behind him, thank god that knock on the door hadn't woken her up “Harper's still sleeping” he whispered, look at her, just look at her sleeping on her stomach, her beautiful back bare, the sheets discretely covering the gorgeous curve of her butt..turn around Jared, or you'll never get out of here. “So? From the looks of it, things between you two back to normal?” Shannon glanced at his brother “I mean that looked like things got pretty hot last night” seeing a grin appear on Jared's face was confirmation enough. “How can we go back to normal when nothing between us has ever been normal? It was phenomenal..just phenomenal” Jared checked his phone “by the way, how's that new personal assistent thing coming along?”. Shannon bit his lip, if only this was gonna go down the right way “it's not that easy..but I think there's a solution” he slowed down, making Jared frown “well? I don't care who it is, as long as she/he gets things done”, Shannon swallowed hard, here went absolutely nothing “if you don't care who it is, then you don't care that I got Shayla back on board”. Jared froze on the spot “what? Please tell me you're kidding?” not Shayla, goddammit, didn't I say I didn't want trouble anymore? “I'm not kidding, Jay..she knows the business..yes she made a couple mistakes but she can start straight away if we want”. Goddammit! How could he..”so basically you're asking me if I want to get into a whole lot of trouble again? Calling my girlfriend an attention seeking diva? And I don't need to remind you that Sean is back on the tour as well” he raised his voice in complete shock. “Are we still on the same planet Shannon? I mean, why? First you dump me in the middle of a hurricane with letting Val come on tour? Then you hire Sean and Shayla again? I mean, is there something you want to tell me? Like another bomb you've been wanting to drop?” he stopped, realizing he was starting to shout. “I don't want to dump us into anything..it's just that we desperately need an assistant..and Shayla knows this kind of work like the back of her hand” did that frown on his brother's face mean that he was at least considering it? “we can put a special clause in her contract about Harper and we'll do the same for Sean..what do you think?” Shannon's cool remained impressive, was he really giving in?. “I think this whole idea stinks!..but you're right about needing an assistant, so I'll talk to one of the lawyers about that clause, one word about Harper, no, even to Harper and she's out!” keep your calm, just keep calm, it's too early to get worked up and especially after the night he had, everything he had hoping and longing for was given back to him last night so there was absolutely no way he would allow anyone or anything to disrupt that.

Stretching and yawning, where was she?..home..Italy..the tightness in her abdomen betrayed a whole lot of action last night..Jay..mmm, where was he? Her arm fruitlessly went searching around the empty spot next to her and her eyes fluttered open..did she dream it all? Slowly she sat up and looked around the room..what? Oh god, she definitely wasn't dreaming..like an arrow out of a bow she jumped out of bed over to the series of spanking new, blank canvases leaning against the wall, what were all these boxes standing next to them? Surely not?..she quickly opened a box and what she saw brought a tear to her eye, a myriad of colours, crayons and paint greeted her, the heady scent of oil paints and new brushes was almost too much to bear. Engrossed in all that beauty she didn't hear the door open behind her “ah, you already found them I see” grinning from ear to ear he threw the keycard on the dresser together with his wallet, just in time to grab her as she ran up to him and jumped in his arms “IloveyouIreallyreallyloveyou” she breathed, kissing his face up and down with tears streaming down her face. “You happy? I didn't know what you normally use, so I took a bit of everything.I..I hope I got it right” he giggled as she kept smothering him with kisses and hugs, “it's perfect..it must have cost you a fortune, I'll pay you back and..” she rattled but he quickly shut her up with a blistering kiss. “You've already paid me back a thousandfold just by being here with me..I know you left everything you love doing back in NY just to be with me, so I thought I'd do something in return, now you can stay with me and paint at the same time, one thing doesn't have to rule out the other” he whispered against her lips. One last smouldering kiss and Harper slowly let go, the need and the curiosity to check out her new gear was just too big and his heart melted when he saw her eyes glaze over again fondling and stroking brushes and canvases, this was passion, unbridled, intense, beautiful, pure passion and it had been a really long time since he had seen such a thing, someone who'd forsake everything and everyone just to follow a dream, so rare and so absolutely beautiful and breathtaking to watch. “Do you think you can tear away yourself from the paint and the brushes to have breakfast with me?” he grinned, “Only if I can pay for it, it's the least I can do, all this stuff must have cost you a fortune, I know I'm repeating myself, but I just can't get my head around it” she slowly put the brushes down “I'll pay you back..I swear..I” she tried to explain but he stopped her again “let's just start with breakfast, alright? All that action last night must have gotten me famished..oh speaking about action, I you really want to insist on paying me back, that's definitely another fine way to be paying me back, what do you think? Just a suggestion”he wiggled his eyebrows. “just a suggestion, huh?” her indexfinger traced his jaw and she pretended to think about it for a second “yep, I can definitely do that! But first a shower and clothes and we're off, won't be long” she kissed the tip of his nose and hopped to the bathroom giggling. This was the fun part, the difficult bit was for later..the return of Shayla..how was he gonna convince her if he wasn't even convinced himself? Don't think about that now, she was all that mattered, Harper, Coco, Harper Coco, lover, best friend, love of his life, babe par excellence, staywithmestaywithmestaywithmefortherestofourlives, should he ask her? God no, not that he didn't want to, because he did but she would definitely run if he popped the question, she just wasn't the type..didn't matter, not now anyway, later maybe, hopefully! The door opened and out she came with her beautiful thick hair pulled up in a high ponytail that bounced with every step, a killer outfit that hugged every curve “Ready?”, for you woman, always!.

The latest collaboration eyeshadow palette ColourPop has done and this time it was with Shayla, who is a beauty YouTuber under the username MakeupShayla. I love that this palette is filled with colorful shadows with a mix of matte and metallic finishes. Though there are far more metallics and mattes with glitter then actual mattes. For me, this palette doesn’t have everything I want in a palette so I do need to mix other shadows with this palette to get a complete look.

This palette does include a mirror and runs you $23 for 16 shadows each with 1.0g (0.035oz) of product. Or each shade in the palette is around $1.50, granted you cannot purchase the shades individually. As for the amount of product, that is the typical amount most of the other ColourPop palettes come with. For a cost comparison, another 16-pan shadow from ColourPop (Fame or Fortune) cost $22 and do not include a mirror inside. Considering you also get a mirror in this palette compared to those that did not, this palette is a better deal. As I love a palette that comes with a mirror. ColourPop typically does not add on a lot for a mirror to the overall price, so I don’t know why they don’t include it on their other palettes. But I’m glad this one does include one.

Overall Thoughts

You can’t go too wrong with a metallic formula, though I would have loved if this palette included more matte shades as you don’t want to do an entire look with just metallics. They look beautiful on the eyes but to me they aren’t a full look. You need a matte to go into the crease, transition, and create that outer corner dimension with. Yes, the palette does include some mattes but for me there are no transitions so I would have to pull in other palettes or individual shadows to create a complete look. It can be done, but I would have loved some lighter shades for transitions. Shayla, however, does have a darker complexion so I can see why there aren’t any light shades. Not everyone wants or needs a light shade to be their transitions. So I’m not going to dock the palette just because of that. However, considering the limited number of matte shadows in the palette… 2 of them contain glitter leaving you with just four matte shades and twelve glitter/metallic shades. It’s a bit of an uneven blend.

The ColourPop x Shayla Perception palette just reminds me of the Fenty Beauty Galaxy Palette, are the metallics gorgeous and work like a dream? Yes, but I’m going to be needing to dip into other palettes to create a look. And $23 is up there in price, I could get the BH Cosmetics Zodiac Palette (which I love) that has a more even balance between the colorful metallics and matte shadows for around the same price if not less.

That doesn’t mean the Perception Palette is bad by any means, I love the formula and you can only do so many ColourPop eyeshadow reviews where you say the same things over and over again since my opinion has not changed. Each eyeshadow palette performs pretty much the same from what I have experienced, so I wanted to get into my critics with this palette just since I have some this time around as compared to the other palettes.

I’m a little late to the party on this one, since the Shayla x Colourpop collaboration was released months ago. I’m sure the hype has probably died down by now, but palette is still available to purchase on Colorpop’s website. With that being said, no, I don’t think it’s too late to finally write this review. 😉

I will also be demoing a pretty simple look, while discussing how the eyeshadows perform and wear throughout the day. So without getting into a long-winded review, let’s just get started!

The Packaging: I have to admit, the packaging is what drew me in. While the colors are nice, I probably wouldn’t have bought the palette if the packaging was just “Plain Jane” and ordinary. The Shayla x ColourPop Perception palette is very eye catching, and quite unique.

The purple and rose gold color scheme corresponds nicely with the eyeshadow color theme. I also love how when you open the palette, the gold paint splatter immediately draws your eye towards the center, right at the eyeshadows. Overall, the design is well thought out and organized.

The Colors: The Shayla x Colourpop Perception Palette has a total of 16 shades, with only four of them being matte. Yes, this is predominately a shimmer/glitter palette, so keep that in mind if that’s not what you prefer. 😉 I personally love shimmer shadows, but do feel that this palette could have a few more transition shades.

The overall color story of this palette makes sense; the colors are all variations of one another (golds, burgundies/purples, blues, greens, oranges), and it’s pretty easy to come up with a few looks using just this palette. Each shade swatched well, and I love how sparkly the shimmers look in the natural sunlight. 🙂

Unbothered: shimmery white; would work well as in inner corner and brown highlight

TF: a true, shimmer gold. I LOVE this shade!

Titus: a shimmery grey

Stallion: a glittery navy blue

Spill the Tea: a shimmery rose gold

Diva: a shimmery bronze

I.E.: a shimmery forest green

14: a shimmery royal blue

Strut n Stray: a shimmery, darker rose gold

Performance:

To begin this look, I started with Culture as a base, and applied it all over my lids. I then added Revenge in the crease, while blending it into Culture (using a fluffy blending brush). These colors are very pigmented, but also very hard to blend. It seemed as though Revenge just wanted to stay where it was applied, and it was very patchy.

I also noticed right off the bat, that the palette has somewhat of a scent. It’s not like a strong chemical smell or anything… I would describe it as more of a clay smell. Thankfully, it’s not too strong or overpowering, and it pretty much stays in the palette, and not on the eyes.

For the second step, I used Shade to deepen the outer corners, while blending it in the crease with a fluffy brush. This formula is interesting; it’s not necessarily a foiled shimmer shadow, but more of a glittery matte. However, the glitter does not translate well on the lid. In fact, it’s pretty non-existent. The application is also quite patchy and difficult to blend into the crease.

Shade also has a lot of fallout. When using this palette, I would highly suggest that you do your eye makeup before you do your face.

For my third step, I decided to use Strut and Slay, and I packed it on my lid with a flat dense brush. This color definitely went on a lot more smoothly, and it was quite pigmented and shimmery. 🙂

For the final steps, I used a thin liner brush, and went in with the shades Diva and Shade. I used these colors on the lower lash line, and smoked them out to remove any harsh lines. I used Shade on the outer corners, and Diva in the inner corners, really concentrating on my tear duct area. The two colors met in the middle of my eye.

I also used a dense flat brush and went in with Shade to clean up the edges above and on the crease. To finish the look, I added some eyeliner (Kat Von D Tattoo Liner) and mascara (Urban Decay Perversion).

Overall, the look came out just okay. The colors didn’t translate well on the eye, and they sort of muddied together. The palette was difficult to blend, and that definitely showed on the finished look. I tried to make it work my cleaning up the edges, but I wasn’t at all impressed with the Shayla x ColourPop Perception palette’s performance.

However, I didn’t want to completely write off the palette. Because it has such good reviews, I thought that is was probably just me. Maybe I was having an off makeup application day. Maybe my brushes weren’t fully cleaned. So, I tried again a few days later.

For the above “look,” I decided to keep it simple, but do something with the blue and white. I applied Culture as a base again, and I put Stallion and 14 in my outer corners. I also used Unbothered on my lids. I then did some blending to remove harsh lines, and everything went well, right? Nope! Even for a pretty beginner eyeshadow look, I was very frustrated with the end result.

Everything was going just fine, until I applied Stallion. As soon as it touched my outer corner, I experienced immediate regret, and this is not an exaggeration. There was fallout galore, much like my experience with Shade.

The color did not transfer well to the lids, either. Instead of it being a nice, glittery dark blue color, it was a weird, black, muddy mess. That really pretty glittery shade that the swatches above show? Completely inaccurate when applied with a brush and onto the lid. That color was hardly blue, and there no glitter in sight.

The Perception palette was also nearly impossible to blend! I had the same problem that I had with Shade; the color just glued to my outer corner, and it refused to blend in the crease. And when it finally gave up and decided to move, it was patchy, streaky, and messy.

I also noticed that the colors did not hold their vibrancy. Stallion started to fade away to nothing, while Unbothered turned into a different yellow-gold color. However, the color change with Unbothered could very well be due to the yellow-toned base color.

Final Verdict: I know that this is an influencer collaboration, and as you can probably guess, I don’t have a favorable opinion on this palette. I want to preface that this review is in no way shape or form used to express hate towards Makeupshayla. To be honest, I’m not subscribed to her channel, and I’ve never watched her videos.

I purchased the Shayla x ColourPop Perception Palette because of the packaging and the colors. Yes, the colors are very pigmented and the foiled shadows are very shimmery. And that’s about where it ends. When it came to actually blending the eyeshadows, I was very frustrated and I couldn’t get them to do or go where I wanted them.

So for the final verdict. I know that I’ll probably a lot get hate for this but, save your money. Even though it’s only $23 and not necessarily breaking the bank, I feel as though the quality in the Shayla x ColourPop Perception Palette is not there. The eyeshadows didn’t blend, they were patchy, and they did not translate well on the lids.

Do I blame the poor quality on Makeupshayla? Absolutely not. Let’s be real; the influencers are just choosing the colors and packaging, and then stamping their name on it. The poor quality is really on Colourpop’s hands here, and I was quite frankly, very disappointed by this palette.

The Night School actress have created several new female friendships and one of them happens to be with pop singer Taylor Swift. Not only are they cool, they’re almost bestie status, where they call each other up to dish about things that are going on in their personal lives and careers.

Tiffany – who’s gearing up for the release of her new comedy Like A Boss – sat down with YBF correspondent Shayla Rae to dish on advice her new friends have given her.

“Well, from Taylor [Swift]I learned a lot about how you know you’ve made it type situation. I’ll go through a few things and she’ll be like ‘that mean you made it Tiffany, that means you made it.’ I’m like, ‘Oh aight, she made it!’,” she laughed during an interview with YBF correspondent Shayla Rae.

Tiffany will text Taylor when she’s stressed about certain situations and Taylor always reminds her that she’ll have to deal with certain things being that she’s famous famous now. The comedienne also taught Taylor a thing or two.

”From me, Taylor learned some dance moves and some recipes. We share recipes,” she said.

Y’all know Tiff loves to cook and dance.

Spending so much time with her Like A Boss co-stars Salma Hayek and Rose Bryne to shoot the film, Tiffany (who's also executive produced the movie) has also learned a few life lessons from them as well.

”Selma [Hayek] tells me all the time, ‘You have to be a diva. You have to be kind of a b*tch! You’re a superstar now. When you’re a superstar, you have to be superstar, like ughhh’ I don’t know what the f*ck that means," she said while laughing it up.

Ha!

”And then Rose [Bryne], I just learned a lot. Watching Rosa, she’s so patient and I love that. I’m learning to be a lot more patient.

Tiff said being a comedienne, it’s more fast pace. She would take that same energy to the set, and Rose would tell her “just be patient.”

If you’re familiar with this blog, you know I love supporting my favourite beauty influencers with every collaboration they do. I’ve been following Shayla for years, continuously rooting for her success like yasssss sis, get it! She has secured the bag been doing big things with her collabs with major companies such as Tarte (my review is right here) and Maybelline, and has now launched a collection with one of my faves, Colourpop. Can I get a “yasssssss” for all this black girl magic or nah?

This collection was pretty cool in that Colourpop had various bundle options: we were able to purchase the PR collection ($75), the entire collection, and lipstick bundles.

My thoughts

Naturally, I bought the PR collection because I’m extra and wanted the beautiful packaging and all the excitement, however, I was slightly disappointed to see there wasn’t even a picture of Shayla in the box (especially because the shots from the promo shoot were straight fireeeee), but whatevs… The packaging was still lit.

PERCEPTION Pressed Powder Shadow Palette

This is 16 pan palette has a mix of mattes and metallic shadows like nothing I’ve ever seen before. A great mix of warm and cool tones that can take you from day to night. You’d think with the random pops of colour this would be a limited palette but not at all! There are so many different looks you can create with it.

Across the board, the quality of the shadows was impressive. The mattes were pigmented yet easily blendable; the shimmer shades were super pigmented and applied smoothly. There is some kickback with the shadows perhaps due to the pigment intensity but nothing unbearable. The mattes are easy to pack on, then blend – but bear in mind, a little goes a long way. The shimmers apply best with your finger when packed on the centre of the lid, or with a synthetic flat brush. Overall, the unique mix of colours and finishes work surprisingly well together.

And finally, I absolutely love the fact that this palette has a mirror! Ugh! Shayla girl, you know what’s really good!

NEAT FREAK Ultra Glossy Lip

This is described as a “high shine gloss with full-coverage, metallic pearl finish in a moisturising, and non-sticky comfortable formula.”

The base is a warm and translucent, with specks of gold and pink glitter. The glitter is noticeable without being too chunky. It’s beautiful and ideal for all skin tones in my opinion. Neat Freak has actually become my go-to gloss for all lipsticks – especially nudes and neutrals. I’ve worn it so regularly the writing on the package has faded away – I just ordered a back-up!!!! It is long-wearing, and fades away leaving bits of glitter on your lips. The consistency is smooth and it isn’t too sticky or tacky, nor does it settle into any fine lines on my lips. I’m also grateful that it wears without leaving that white, chalky residue around the rim of the mouth (especially at the inner corners – hello white squall!). The high-shine gives the appearance of fuller, plumper lips. All in all, this product gets an A+ from me.

DUPE: Maybelline’s Just a Glimmer

OOUUUU! Créme Lux Lipstick

Described as a “warm peach,” this creamy-matte lipstick was a colour that I was not in the least excited for. I love peachy-nudes, but this orange-peach just seemed not destined to work for my complexion. This colour definitely pulls more tangerine than peach on my skin. It applies fairly smoothly, but it quickly settles into my fine lines. This is definitely one to avoid if your lips are dry and crackly. For my complexion, I find it works best with a brown lipliner (MAC Cork or Colourpop BFF3): concentrate it in the centre of the lip. This combo also looks great when topped with Neat Freak.

QUICKIE Créme Lux Lipstick

As previously proclaimed, I love a peachy-nude!!! At first I truly thought Shayla played me – I was like which black girl is wearing this ashy mess?! Boy, was I wrong! This satin lipstick is deep peach with warm undertones. Just like Oouuuu!, this lipstick applied smoothly, however it didn’t settle into any lines. The colour is fully opaque with one swipe and is pretty long-wearing. Quickie paired with BFF3 lip pencil and Neat Freak is the nude combination I’ve been consistently rocking over the past 3 weeks. I am absolutely in love!

DUPE: Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Melted Nude

C’MON SIS Créme Lux Lipstick

I was honestly. a little underwhelmed when I first saw this “soft pinky brown”, but this turned out to be so beautiful on my complexion. It’s such a great everyday colour, but can be paired with a dramatic eye look for a sexy night out on the town. It is a warm, rosy plum with a satin finish that applies more smoothly than the other two lipsticks. It wears super long without getting uncomfortable and doesn’t settle into any fine lines. This is my fave formula of the three lippies.

DUPE: Maybelline Touch of Spice

BOOMIN’ Luster Dust Loose Highlighter

A “peachy gold” highlighter, Boomin’ pulls more light gold with a warm undertone. It has a soft metallic sheen with a pearl finish. I’m not a fan of loose highlighters because I find them to be messy and not as easy to control as pressed ones, but this one was so finely milled that it applied and blended with ease. I prefer to use a fan brush (Morphe M601) to apply the product to my cheekbones and a detailer brush to highlight my nose and cupid’s bow. This highlighter worked for my skin tone, however I would not necessarily use it on a darker skin tone. This is ideal for medium to medium-deep skin tones.

DUPE: Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Gilded Honey

POSE Luster Dust Loose Highlighter

Described as a “warm copper”, Pose is perfect to have your melanin poppin’ like the goddess you are. It is a warm-toned almost rose gold highlighter with a pearlescent finish that applied like a dream. The loose formula is very easy to blend so while a little goes a long way, it’s almost fool-proof. This would be a great bronzer or blush for lighter skin tones. My favourite way to rock Pose is with a hint of Boomin’ on top.

DUPE: Becca Rose Gold Highlighter

Overall, I was very impressed with this collaboration – everything was super pigmented and high quality. My least favourite (which I still like, btw) would be C’mon Sis lipstick because it settles into my fine lines way too much. If you can only grab a few things from the collection, I highly recommend the eyeshadow palette, the lip gloss and Boomin’ highlighter – those are definitely the most unique products.

A Man On Fire - Chapter 34

“Hey..” he carefully walked over to her, with his hands raised “I believe you..Coco, I believe you..” her eyes followed his every move suspiciously like a cat that was backed into a corner, “and right now I need you to stop me from storming out of this room to go break every bone in Sean's body”. Asking for help, he put the ball in her court and she finally let her guard down and let him step closer to fold his arms around her, “you do? You really believe me?” she held on to him tightly, “of course I do..why were you suddenly so scared? I'm just angry at Sean, not you” he whispered in her hair, “there's something else I need to tell you, Jared..” he felt her tense up and then slowly let go of him. “What I'm about to tell you has been my reality for a very..very long time so bear with me ok? I've never told anyone about this..until tonight..when I told that doctor” she started pacing around the room. Jared just nodded while he sat down on the bed again, “I noticed that you were scared of me just now..and I don't ever want you to be scared of me, did Sean..do something to you?” stay calm whatever it is you're about to hear, just stay calm, let her talk, tear Sean's head off later, all that mattered right now was her. “Ok..” she took a deep breath while rubbing her forehead “no..Sean didn't do anything, nothing physically inappropriate anyway”, he found himself bracing, I don't know if I wanna hear this. “The reason I got scared just now is because you reminded me of my father..he used to beat me to a pulp..see, that man hated me from the minute I was born, and he still does..” a heavy silence fell, don't look him in the eye, the last thing I need to see right now is pity “the beatings stopped when I ran away from home when I was old and smart enough to look after myself..”. Luckily he didn't interrupt her or she wouldn't be able to go on, “but Daddy dearest isn't done with me yet, he's cut me off financially, and now he's trying to take my title away..not that I care about that stupid title, he can stick it where the sun don't shine, it's just..” she paused to find her words “it's just that he's actually trying to deny me..like I was never his child, I really don't know what hurts more, the beatings I took..or no longer having a father..or a family..”.

There, done, now he knows, no more covering up, no more acting, having the guts to tell him the truth, that's how much she loved him, “babe..” he got up from the bed and slowly walked up to her and enveloped her in a hug without saying anything. They stood there for minutes just glued to each other, Jared caressing her hair, his heavy breathing betrayed his unspoken anger, “now I feel guilty for making you feel bad” she whispered against his chest. “You never have to feel guilty for anything, I'm just angry at your Dad, I just can't get my head around how he can do such things to his own child..” he dotted kisses in between angered breaths on the top of her head. “It is what it is, Jared, I haven't made my peace with it yet, but I'm trying to accept that that part of my life is over and that I don't have a family or a home to go back to..that's the hardest part..” those long, supple fingers that caressed, squeezed, comforted, please don't ever stop. “You have me” he sighed and held her a little closer, “I know I do, and I also have myself, but goddammit that doesn't prevent me from feeling lonely, I miss being part of a family, even though I've never really known what that is or feels like..I'm actually jealous when I see you and your brother, you've lived together, you work together, you travel the world together, your momma loves you” her heart ached so much it hurt, “we argue and fight together” he tried to lighten the mood without succes. “And your point being?” she sighed and slowly let go of him “anyway, let's not talk about it, the whole topic simply disgusts me..but what doesn't disgust me is this” she pushed her hand over his crotch.

”Oh no, you don't..no..Harper..let's not do this” he gently locked his hand around her wrist and shook his head, “you're tired..and so am I..it's been a heavy night”. See, she should've kept her mouth shut, it was just too heavy a story to dump on anyone “fine..yeah..I'll just go brush my teeth then” she gave him an awkward smile and plodded over to the bathroom. When she came back he had stripped down to payama bottoms and was too busy tapping on his phone, god what a glorious body he had his heart set on depriving her from, don't matter, sex won't solve anything, right? No, but it sure as hell is a wonderful stress reliever, and I could definitely do with some of that, some heavy grinding and a good, hard fucking to get rid of the cobwebs and feel alive again. “Don't you go feeling all sorry for me, alright?!” she crawled into bed, awawaw ok so yeah her shoulders and arms were so painful she could barely pull the duvet over her, “Be right back, just gonna brush my teeth as well” he finally put his phone away, and rushed to the bathroom without even looking at her, fine whatever, this night was getting more and more fucked up by the minute. It just went to show that the minute you open up and throw your heart at someone, you get it back perfectly sliced, she curled up into the duvet in a perfect little ball, trying to calm her raging thoughts. “I'm not feeling sorry for you” the mattress dipped and the warmth of his body felt so nice on her cold skin “I'm..angry and upset..I am mystified by what's happened to you” he kissed her shoulder. “Maybe I shouldn't have told you..” she grabbed his hand, kissed it and put it over her heart “I don't want you to look at me differently..I've decided not to be a victim a long time ago, Jay”. Jared slowly pulled her on her back and looked her in the eye “I'm not, and I won't, you're still and always will be the most beautiful, wonderful..amazing, breathtaking, inspiring woman I've ever met..did I mention 'most beautiful' yet?” his finger traced the line of her nose. “You did, but you forgot 'sexy'” she gave him a coy smile, “unforgivable! You're the most beautiful, sexiest woman who's ever walked the face of this earth and I'm the luckiest bastard in the world to be able to call you all mine” he breathed before his lips softly landed on hers. “All yours? See, I think I forgot what you actually mean by that” a girl could merely try to make him see sense and give up on his silly idea of not getting all frisky tonight, “nice try De Robiano, but ok, I'll show you how much you're mine and what you mean to me” he rolled on his back and folded his arm around her so she could cuddle up to him.

Jared's eyes fluttered open ever so slowly when he heard a knock on the door, no, no, it was way too early and he so did not want to move while she slept so peacefully against him, her head cradled in the nook of his arm, it was almost like a custommade spot for her. Another knock, a little more impatient this time, ever so slowly he folded his hand behind her head and gently put it on the pile of cushions so it wouldn't wake her up, this was clearly the most peaceful sleep she had in days, weeks and he didn't want anything to interrupt that. “This better be important” he whispered harshly as he opened the door, “we need to talk, Jared, she still here?” Shayla waltzed into the small hallway while he quickly closed the door to their bedroom from the screeching that Shayla obviously was about to do. “Of course she is, where else would she be? And yes we sure need to talk, let's start with that son of a bitch boyfriend of yours” he growled back at her, showing her the way to the adjacent little living room. “Sean? He fuckin' saved her life, a frikkin diva that's what she is, she'd do anything to get a little bit of attention” she was too agitated to sit down, “excuse me? An attention seeking diva, you have some nerve! Well I have news for you sister, the only one seeking attention from the wrong girl is Sean, confessing his undying love for Harper” he spat back, stay calm Leto, she's not worth it, oh fuck all this staying calm, dissing and belittling his girlfriend ended right here and right now. Coco's eyes shot open, where was she? Where was Jared and what the hell was all that noise? Harsh voices coming from next door..or from the living room?. “He did not! She'll say anything to break Sean and I up! How can you..”, Coco walking into the room stopped Shayla instantly with a big huff, “that's where you're wrong, Shayla, I won't say anything to break you two up, because everything I wanted from the beginning was to see Sean happy..just like I want to see any friend of mine happy” Harper knew exactly what this was about, Sean had told her, where was he by the way?.

“Happy? You only want to see him happy with you, that's why you throw yourself off some light ridge, just to get his attention?” Coco was baffled by her sudden outlash, Jared quickly took over from her “is that what he's saying now? That fucker would say anything..fine ok, but it's definitely the last thing he's gonna say, he's fired, you're fired! Just get the fuck out of this room RIGHT NOW!” he shouted, he just couldn't keep his anger under control any longer. “No wait, since he's too chicken to come and lie to us in person, why don't we go tell him ourselves, come on, I'll go with you” he suddenly grabbed Shayla's arm and dragged her with him, with Harper in hot pursuit, not realizing if this was actually happening or if she was still dreaming. “You're hurting me” Shayla wailed, “Jared, come on, let her go, she's hurting” Coco tried to stop him but it was like he didn't even realize what he was doing, she had clearly pushed a button too many. “Jared, the fuck?..” Sean opened the door after he heard Jared threaten to break the door down if he wouldn't open up, “don't you 'Jared' me, Sean, I'm your boss, no, correction, I was your boss until you decided to try and seduce my girlfriend, and because she didn't reciprocate, you just decide to push her off a rig? Because that's how it happened, didn't it, Sean? Do I really need to call the police and have you charged for attempted murder or are you finally gonna dish out the dirt?” he came blazing into the room. Harper bit her lip watching Sean crumble with all blood drained from his face in a split second, her chest ached..he had been her friend..for so long and it was like the reality of last night was hitting her twice as hard now that they were eye to eye again..come on Sean, just fess up, be honest and tell the truth.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about” he stammered “I didn’t push you, Harper, you jumped..”, Coco jumped in front of Jared who was about to put his hand around his throat “no, I didn’t..is that all I’ve meant to you all this time? You dump all this romantic bullshit on me, completely out of the blue and then when I reject you, you just deny everything..is that what you do to someone who’s always been your friend, who’s helped you out of some serious messes? You just make a fool out of me? Really?” she stepped up to him until they were almost nose to nose, looking him straight in the eye. “You snuck up into my room and into that bathroom knowing full well I was taking a bath, you were also the one who insisted on talking to me during Jared’s soundcheck yesterday, pushing me into a corner and telling me and I quote: ‘I’m going to break things up with Shayla..because I have really strong feelings for my best friend’..” Harper turned to Shayla whose jaw was nearly on the floor “I’m ever so sorry, Shayla, that your boyfriend doesn’t have the balls to tell you this himself, but I’ve had enough, I love Jared very much and I can’t keep juggling between him and Sean, I don’t want to hurt any of you..honestly I don’t! but I can’t keep waiting for Sean to finally drop the bomb and come clean about this, when it’s obvious he won’t..all this mess is hurting Jared..and me, us, you..and it needs to stop, Shayla, it really does! If not for me, let the hurting stop for Jared, please? he doesn't deserve to end up in this ridiculous game you two have been playing”.
