This might be my crackiest thing yet, but the last fic I read had a line about Asmodeus dating someone even younger than Magnus. (It was a human au) But my ridiculous brain ran with that and now I'm thinking canon Asmodeus shacking up with a college aged woman who happens to have the sight, and she then tries to act all motherly to Magnus. (She may not be the brightest out there 🤣🤣🤣)

Her: "You should really not drink that much coffee. It's not good for you." Magnus: "I'm over 400 years old, I think I can handle my caffeine intake." Her: "Oh, that's so many birthdays I missed! I will go get you a cake!"

Her: "I don’t know how I feel about you dating this Lightwood boy. All these tattoos make him look like he is in a gang. Of the mafia!" Magnus: "He is a shadowhunter, they aren't tattoos but runes, which are angelic enhancements he needs to fight demons." Her: "Enhancements? Like drugs?! He is an addict, too?"

Oof. I don't really have any crack ships? And my only ship takes that would get me killed are NOTPS, which is a whole other beast.

Mercedes/Ingrid. Most often I see Ingrid as aroace, but if I were to ship her with anyone it would be Mercedes.

Annette/Hilda. The dynamic of "overworker, means well" and "is allergic to work, means well" is very good. Loved the scene where they took a nap together. Functions perfectly well as a friendship but I would like to see Hilda bench press her girlfriend while said girlfriend studies the Excalibur sigil.

Ferdinand/Sylvain/Lorenz. There's just so much to do with them. I would like to see them go on horse rides together and for Sylvain to let shine a side only those he loves most get to see. Also they go on art dates.

This one might get me killed actually?fkjdglgkj but Dimitri/Rhea. There I said it. If I ever grow a backbone I'll write the CF-victory fic I've always wanted to read. As it stands I am too much of a coward. But I want them finding comfort in each other and honestly Dimitri deserves to be pegged by a saint. I trust my mutuals to look the other way if they're not on board with this one but the broader fandom . . . please don't kill me. I'm not in the mood fkgjdflkgj

I do like Dimitri/Dedue/Mercedes. The gentlest people. I think they should hold hands.

That's all the rare pairs off the top of my head. The rest of my go-to ships are a little too popular to be rare pairs, or straight-up the most popular pairing for the characters involved.

🛳️ A fic that brought you aboard a new ship

You know I kind of have a one-track mind when it comes to shipping, so it's mostly SteveBucky for me. The only other pairing I started to read regularly over the past year is SamBucky (I might make a separate rec post for that one day because I've since found some really excellent fics). I think the first SamBucky story I read that really convinced me was this one:

Muscle Memory by seapigeon | 13K, 3 parts in series, rated Teen-Explicit

Starts mid-season of TFATWS and then moves beyond that. This is only 13K but it packs such an emotional punch. This is Bucky and Sam dancing around each other, and away from each other, and then finally with each other. Also, I highly recommend everything else written by this author (including a fantastic WIP).

😂 A fic that made you laugh out loud

While we’re at it, let’s do another SamBucky rec:

A short and sweet Modern No-Powers AU, in which hot teacher Bucky rescues Sam from a bad date with Tony Stark’s "evil twin". It is wonderful! Napricot is another one of those authors where I can wholeheartedly recommend everything she’s ever written. She has a special talent for taking the crackiest of premises and turning them into something moving and emotionally sincere. And still keep it hilarious! 

✨ A fic you wish you could read again for the first time

Hmmm...I think I would like to get the chance to read some of the “big ones” again for the first time and really savor them this time around. When I first read a lot of them, I was just gorging myself on all things Stucky I could find at the time and so some of them kind of tend to bleed together or I can hardly even remember anything other than...they were really good? But since I want to give some love to lesser known fics, let’s go with:

As Time Goes By by Trouble_With_The_Snap | 66K, Mature

This is a tough read--there are no happy endings here--and I realize that this is not a fic for everybody. In fact, it might not appeal to most people. However, it is one of the best fics I have ever read. I’ll just copy here what I wrote in my bookmark because I think it sums it up best:

A smart & thoughtful investigation into how Steve's Endgame choice would realistically play out. Brutally honest and absolutely devastating without being pointlessly cruel or wholly lacking in compassion towards the characters. Masterfully set up, patiently developed, confidently structured, beautifully written. And the payoff! I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop - and BOY, did it DROP. 

Like I said, you'll need a masochistic streak a mile wide to do this to yourself, but holy shit, it is so, so good. I realize that this may seem like a strange choice for the “I want to experience this all over again” question, but the feeling that came over me when I started to realize what the author was doing here and where it would inevitably lead was just...I was floored.

This was fun! Let’s do it again some time! You can always ask for more recs outside of this ask game.

12 - Is there a trope you haven’t written yet but really want to?

I haven't done an exes-to-lovers trope yet. Although...I'm technically working on that RN 👀 I also would like to do an arranged-marriage scenario, or some fantasy trope as well. I do enjoy many sci-fi/fantasy stories but I'm still a bit apprehensive about actually writing it. Idk...we'll see if I can manage the world-building for that! 14 - If you were stuck on a desert island with only two characters, which would you pick?

Hah! I would love to be stuck on an island with Gradation!Hoseok for comfort and Coquet!Jimin for the fun aspect 🤣 Alternatively, they can be interchanged.

15 - A Hollywood producer tells you that they want to film just one of your fics. Which fic would you want it to be?

Ah--but of course, I would pick my crackiest (it's not a word, I know) fic to-date, and that's Scale! Also...Scale!NamJin scheming together is something I'd love to see played out onscreen...just for the thirst factor.

16 - What is your most underrated fic?

I'm biased, but I would say "Scions." It's one of my current series and it's my first attempt at an ensemble story. It's challenging to write not just logistically but emotionally as well. It's very, very dramatic but I love storytelling for the sake of storytelling. Of course, there's hints of thirst but, it's mostly very angsty. As I've told you before, I love my telenovelas and this is very on-brand for me, personally. I'd like to diversify my masterlist a bit and "stretch my legs" as a writer. This story is definitely pushing me in that direction!

What would be the crackiest story for Diane and Kurt you would love to see?

Ha! This is such a great question! ...And such an embarrassing one to answer, lol. I suppose it would have to be one that came to mind some time ago now and doesn't feel quite as relevant these days, but...

So, do you all remember, prior to Will's death and following Hitting the Fan, when Will was *dating* that "crazy lady" that was like "I want your baby, Will!", then "Ha! Can't believe you fell for that! No I don't!" but then "Actually though, maybe I do?" Well, I imagined it would be interesting to see a situation where, after a couple of years, she goes to Diane in rough shape with a babe in tow, telling Diane that Will's the father of her kid. The situation in my mind's eye has a few threads from here, but most lead to Kurt and Diane debating whether or not to, then agreeing to, take in Will's child, either for a period of time or permanently.

So there it is! A McHart kid-fic with a secret child of a dead character. Is that cracky enough??

If you're still taking fic titles: Lemonade Love

Grey!!!! Thank you my darling!!! I will be taking title asks for the next week or so! 

This title goes with just the fluffiest crackiest fic about dad!Geralt getting roped into helping with a fundraiser at the school and then having to put up with Ciri’s very attractive music teacher being an absolute menace since they’re paired up.  He ends up finishing the day with a sugary sweet stain from lemonade on his shirt and a date for the following Friday. 

A snippet of how that fic might go: 

Geralt groaned when he saw the booth schedule posted out front of the fair. He had met this Mr. Pankratz, Ciri’s music teacher. He was great with the kids but that was because he had the energy of a small nuclear warhead packed into one of his many loud thrift store button-ups. 

Ciri tugged at Geralt’s hand trying to get his attention. Clearly it wasn’t her first effort and her tiny face was scrunched up in the perfect reflection of her grandmother’s. Terrifying. 

“Papa, we’re going to be late! Mr. Pankratz made sure that we could work with him today. It’s rude to be late.” She squinted with all the confidence of an eight-year-old.

How many works do you have on AO3?

I have published 33 works on AO3. Not all of them are completed yet, but hopefully they will be someday. I’m not planning on abandoning any of my WIPs, though it might take a long time until they are completed. I’m a slow writer, and I tend to get bouts of writer’s block.

What’s your total AO3 word count?

So far I have published 626,620 words on AO3.

How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?

At the moment, I have only written Glee fics, mostly Klaine.

What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Puppy Eyes. AKA the fic where Blaine is cursed to turn into a dog from time to time. By far the crackiest fic idea I’ve ever had, but I had so much fun writing it, and I guess the readers enjoy it just as much.

Weave Your Magic. My very first multichapter, and still a WIP, though it’s already 287091 words long. It’s massive, and it’s written in a soap opera style that could keep it going forever and ever and ever. I haven’t updated it in years, because to continue it, I first have to read it all the way through again, and that takes me four days. I will continue it when I can find the time, though.

Stop Flirting! This fic started out as a one-shot, and then I continued it for the first Kurt Hummel Big Bang I ever took part in. It’s a famous Blaine fic, with Tina as a crazy fangirl.

Worth the Wait. I love this verse, and it seems my readers do, too :-) This story is very fairytale-like, with magic rings and quests and challenges to prove your worth.

A Shoulder to Lean On. This is a meet-cute oneshot that resonated with many readers. Featuring an obnoxious Rachel, an embarrassed Kurt and a smitten Blaine.

Do you respond to comments, why or why not?

I do, yes. I absolutely love getting to talk about plot points or providing some background information that never made it into my actual fic. Also, seeing as I don’t always wait until the story is complete to start posting, I draw inspiration from my readers’ comments to add some stuff they request or to expand certain parts. That’s what I love so much about fanfiction: that it is truly a two-way street. Readers are as vital to the experience as writers are, and I am so grateful to my faithful readers for their help in shaping my stories.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

Uhm... I write happy endings, mostly. I have a few fics that are pretty open-ended, but never angsty.

Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve written?

As of now, I haven’t written any crossover fics. I have written a Pride & Prejudice inspired fic, though (Out of the Blue), but that doesn’t really count as a crossover.

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Not so much hate, but I’ve received comments and reviews that shook me up and made me stop writing for months. I don’t deal well with criticism, I’m afraid. Fanfic writing is my happy place, so I hate it when people come in and lecture me.

That’s why I stopped writing Never Saying Goodbye to You for so long. One anonymous reviewer raked me over the coals because a movie star I mentioned in passing was wrong for the time period. “ If you want to write a story that is historical in nature, please do your research and get your facts straight.”

Whereas I was just trying to write a fun time-travelling story, and the time period my protagonist ended up was just the background for me. My friend @hkvoyage researches everything meticulously for her historical fics, and kudos to her for that, but I’m not that kind of writer. I have very limited time to write, and I don’t want to spend it doing research, nor should anyone expect me to. I’m not writing a master’s thesis in history, I’m writing a fanfiction story for my own amusement, and sharing it with you so you can enjoy it as well. If I get anything wrong, feel free to point it out and I’ll modify it, but there’s absolutely no need to get angry with me.

Do you write smut? If so what kind?

I do occasionally. It’s not really my thing. Fluff, I can do, and some angst here and there, but smut is difficult to get right.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

That’s possible.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

Oh yes, by the wonderful @klaineship2, one of the few Tumblr Klainiacs I’ve met in real life. She’s absolutely lovely, and she translated one of my fics into German.

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No, I haven’t. I’ve betaed and suggested dialogue or plot points, though.

What’s your all time favourite ship?

Klaine. *Happy sigh*

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

Hmm, I have my mind made up to finish all of my WIPs, even Weave Your Magic. It might take me ages, but I will.

What are your writing strengths?

Does writing from several POVs count? You should ask my readers, I don’t really know.

What are your writing weaknesses?

I’m a pantser. I know how the story begins and ends, but the middle is always a muddle, and I need to piece it together like a puzzle.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I’ve used French in at least one fic. I’ve also used a sentence in Russian.

What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Glee. The one and only.

What’s your favourite fic you’ve written?

Ooh, that’s a difficult question ... There are bits and pieces of myself in every fic, so I love all of them. I love Weave Your Magic because it’s my first multichapter and just a story I can live in. I love Worth the Wait because it’s so much like a fairytale. I love Puppy Eyes because it’s cracky and fun. I love Out of the Blue because it heavily features the Anderson Bros and because I’m a big Pride & Prejudice fan and it was a great challenge giving this story the same enemies to lovers vibe. I love The Christmas Guest because it’s Fake Dating and that’s my fave trope. I could go on and on, but you get what I’m saying :-)

1. The Return of Hope, fic - okay so I started this in 2018 but I finished it this year and this is honestly the best fic I’ve written so far and I have such fond memories of it. I was happy to finally finish it but... it was really hard to let go. but the finished result is awesome if I may say so myself^^

2. star wars poc positivity project favorite slash ship + favorite rarepair, edit - and exactly no one is surprised that this is skyrissian xD this was one of those edits where I had a clear concept from the beginning and I really love how it turned out

3. The Epic Love Story of Lando Calrissian and Luke Skywalker, fic - my star wars big bang fic for this year. it was supposed to be the epic adventures initially (as per the throwaway line in tros) but there turned out to be more love story and less adventure so... yeah xD it was a fun fic to write, even if I did procrastinate with it a lot for various reasons (my beta @ahsokastars was a saint and super patient, thank you so much!!!)

4. Galaxy's best babysitters, fic - also known as post-tcw s7 therapy fic. what’s better than aunt ‘soka and uncle rex babysitting the wondertwins? well, aunt ‘soka and uncle rex getting to babysit han and lando in addition to the wondertwins! easily one of my crackiest ideas ever but it was super therapeutic, and I really hope I get more ideas for this au^^

5. tesb 40th anniversary edit featuring lando - I made this because none of the other edits and gifsets had lando and it pissed me off so much. this was also my first edit where I used 4k screencaps so the quality gets a big boost, which is nice^^ and I’m really happy with the filters I used. this is probably my nicest edit to the date

6. because I trust you, fic - @crystalfoxfics sent me several prompts (I still have a couple to write) and this was the first one I did. it’s based on my icon (the black and white one that is made of a screencap of a deleted rotj scene, not this icon) and I had a lot of fun writing the unresolved romantic tension^^

7. we had each other. that’s how we won, edit - tros was garbage but this line. this line. it’s gonna stay with me forever BECAUSE DFGFDSGDSGFHGDH THEY HAD EACH OTHER AND THAT’S HOW THEY WON I’M?????? SO MAD THE ORIGINAL SQUAD DIDN’T GET TO INTERACT AT ALL FUCK YOU SEQUELS anyway this is another edit where I had a clear concept and I’m happy how it turned out

8. Maybe it's luck, fic - I wrote this for this year’s rarepair exchange and had a lot of fun with it^^ it’s very much a typical fic that I’d write, with the twist that this was the first time I properly wrote a polyamorous relationship and my first time properly writing wedge. my original idea was a lot more slice of life-y (lando, luke, and wedge were supposed to play truth or dare) but qi’ra said hi and then it turned into a mission fic, and I don’t mind, it’s a lot better this way^^

1. If you’re an author, how many WIPs do you currently have? (Be honest!)

Ha. Ha. Hahaha... aahh...

Well, actual works in progress, as in I’m actually in the middle of writing them, that would be three. But ideas for fics I plan to later write... that’s 18. Welp.

5. What’s a crackship you love?

I feel like Jamy in on the fence here. On the one hand it counts as a crackship because it’s very difficult to imagine them getting together in canon, not because of personalities or anything but sheer logistics. But on the other hand, my understanding of a crackship is that you don’t seriously ship it, it’s something that’s ridiculous and out of left field and so you have fun playfully, jokingly shipping it. In that respect, I don’t really have crackships. Oops? LOL

Given that in canon there is almost no way for Jess and Amy to even meet let alone fall in love, I think that’s the crackiest I’ve ever gotten. Oh, and Dave/Noah! Heheheh. Listen if we’re going to be pairing off random characters, then at least make the ship gay. XD

8. Bed sharing or roommates AU?

WHY DO I HAVE TO CHOOSE? Y’KNOW WHAT I’M BI I DON’T HAVE TO CHOOSE. BOTH. BOTH IS GOOD.

9. Fake dating or arranged marriage?

Fake dating, although I do need for there to be a plausible reason for fake dating. Because most of the time, it becomes a question of “wait why aren’t you two just dating in real life,” and also, I struggle with plots where the characters have to lie to everyone around them. I just don’t do plots based on lies/subterfuge. Because 90% of the time it’s just so much easier for everyone if you tell the truth.

But if it’s done the right way... mmmmm yes. Delicious, delicious mutual pining. Oooh yes. Gimme.

Tagged by @ta-dala nearly a freaking MONTH ago, and I’m finally getting around to answering everything I’d been tagged in and hadn’t answered.

I’m also not going to tag anyone, this game is so old and I can’t come up w/ new questions because i’m not that creative >__>

1) Favorite piece of supplemental Star Wars content (book, comic, etc.)? These days? I’m torn between Alan Tudyk’s Cassian and K2 mini comic and Leia: Princess of Alderaan. I know that Claudia Grey isn’t everyone’s favorite SW universe author, but if I could have more of her version of Amilyn Holdo, that would be fantastic.

2) Least favorite piece of supplemental content? The actual Cassian & K2SO story. Like...why?

3) Second favorite character? I’m going to be treating “The Rogue One Squad” as a single character. Don’t bother to try and separate them- it’s not gonna happen :P If we’re in the Rogue One universe, my second favorite character is Krennic, but only because his level of extra could only DREAM of being on par with Vader’s. If we’re talking characters from any of the trilogies, then Finn <3

4) Top two Star Wars ships? I have an emotional attachment to Rebelcaptain (no shit bahaha), and there’s also one ship I’ve grown emotionally attached to lately but I refuse to name because i know people will wring my neck out for it (hint: it isn’t a straight ship).

5) Favorite Star Wars location? Bespin. I love clouds. <3

6) Favorite piece of Star Wars music? Outside of Rogue One? Binary Sunset. Within Rogue One? Your Father Would be Proud (*cries forever*)

7) If you could go anywhere in the GFFA where would it be and why? + 8) If you could be in any profession in the GFFA what would it be and why?

I wish I knew enough of the Star Wars lore to be able to answer both of these questions, but since I’ve only grown up around the films and not much else, I don’t have enough knowledge to come up with an answer :(

9) Give me your crackiest crossover-fic idea. Two words: Legally Blonde. Cassian being the blonde. Fill in the blanks. :D

10) Name the piece of your fanwork of which you’re proudest (SW please) and give us a link.

My Jyn sketch, titled: “Welcome home”. To date, it’s my favorite sketch of Jyn that I’ve attempted and I may or may not have been using it as my avatar for Shotgun at work. I’ve got the full version with Cassian in there as well, but i’m not super happy with how Cassian turned out, so blah LOL

11) What is the most underrated performance in any of the films released thus far? Osleo Prennert That One Rebel Guy You Briefly See on Yavin IV (#no ragrets #cackles into the night)
