Y/n fiddled with her phone as she waited outside the classroom, one earphone in, hidden by her hair. She's heard many crazy things about this high school, having been transferred from a school in UK where she was used to everything, to a high school in South Korea. Everything is so new there, education system, driving on the different side of the road. but she had her best friend, Danielle by her side.

"Hey it's going to be ok" the girl reassured. One thing y/n is glad about, is the fact that she's fluent in Korean so language will not be a big problem for her. She smiles at Danielle as she follows her in. The teacher asks her to introduce herself as the girl blinks, staring at the class in disbelief. Introduce? first day and she has to speak in front of all these judgemental 18 year old strangers?!

So this is Park Sunghoon, the handsome fuckboy they say. Y/n knew he was bad news "Im Sunghoon... and you?" the male asked "Not interested" she said, turning back to do her work "Come on baby, don't be like that" he said, winking as she sighed, looking at him. She then turned back and ignored him, doodling.

2 lessons passed by and break time rolled in, she smiled, sorta running over to Danielle with grabby hands. they jumped up and down squealing like typical girls as their fingers intertwined. "I can't believe we're finally in the same schooool!" Danielle squealed as y/n smiled. "I know right?! we can finally do typical bestie stuff get our nails done, do each other's makeup, gossip, and hang out~" y/n added with a smile.

"All of this and I don't hear boyfriend... i'm assuming it's because you have one?" Sunghoon asked with a raised eyebrow as the girl sighed "No I don't never had one and never will... I don't like the idea of putting all my trust in a guy." She said, in a slight passive aggressive manner. "Ok but I'm telling you, a pretty girl like you NEEDS to end up with a trust worthy guy like me" Sunghoon said.

Y/n gave him the 'be for real' look as she rolled her eyes, walking away with Danielle. "So stupid. He really thinks I'm going to let him get in my skirt?!" y/n scoffed, handing danielle a cherry lollipop as she sucked on her own. "Please. He can't flirt for shit, and just yesterday he had two girlfriends whom he dumped back to back." Danielle added as Y/n shook her head, disappointed. starting off with team obsidian (explorers of sky)

Mistral is. complicated. for starters i have played as her in rescue team, explorers, And super because at the time they were kinda just. me. less of an oc and more just my self insert (i actually changed their name because her old name is. just my name now)

but lately i've wanted her to be her own character and not me in totodile form so i'm kinda in the process of redoing everything about them.

Cinder i can say more about! they are a disaster. an absolute mess. sopping wet kitten born in a cardboard box all alone. she's wanted to be an explorer since she was little, but being a huge coward kinda got in the way of that. they got that scar on their chest when they went into a dungeon alone and it scared them away from exploring for a long time. it wasn't until she met mistral that she started to get her confidence back and they're much calmer and less afraid of everything nowadays!

now rescue team. i played as mistral again in my first pmddx playthough along with a cubone partner but. i have kinda replaced them as my Main pmd1 team with these guys. oops.

campfire are much more developed characters anyways so im gonna talk about them!

fig (she/any) is very quiet, as are basically all of my heroes because my selectively mute ass keeps latching onto silent protagonists. she's definitely the one i've given the not talking trait to the most though. chive is extremely extroverted and chatty so she handles all the talking. others tend to see them as closed off or mysterious because they can't get a good read on her. they're really sweet though

chive's main gimmick is she likes cooking! will probably settle down and open a little cafe once she's done with the rescue team business. likes to experiment with random berries and nuts she finds (fig keeps joking she's going to poison herself, but she owns like 3 different foraging guides, she knows what she's doing.)

next is team hydra! their ref is old and i need to redo it so here's one of my heropartnerweek pieces badly cropped. their names are Ceru (she/xe) and Olivine (he/they)

it turns out i lied when i said all my heroes are quiet ceru is actually pretty outgoing. still the more introverted of the duo but mainly because olivine is a people pleaser extraordinaire. she actually had a pretty boring life as a human and is a lot happier as a pokemon. she was Devastated about returning to the human world, mostly because xe didn't want to leave xyr friends, partially because oh come on it's so much cooler here i don't wanna go back to working retail

olivine, as i said, is a people pleaser, often to his detriment. he's always prioritizing other pokemon's happiness, even when it's at the cost of his own. they get better at this over time (ceru helps him a lot with learning to say No). he and ceru are inseparable besties. they're like a comedy duo. 2 things have olivine's undying commitment, his friends and The Bit

finally. super. again i already talked about mistral so here is Basil.

honestly? i feel like they don't have much of my own spin. pmsd partner is already a perfect character. they are so full of love. they love making others smile and they're maybe a little too enthusiastic about it. they tend to come off as overly friendly at best or annoying at worst. before meeting mistral they were pretty lonely despite trying so hard to make friends. they're very happy to finally have a real close friend who likes them how they are

‘rob? um. is it gay to take your male friend berry picking’ steve asks while he’s pushing the full returns kart over to the romance section. he feels his eyebrows scrunch as he tries to read the labels on the tapes.

‘uh’ comes robins faint reply from where she’s slumped on the counter.. not helpful.

‘if uh. what if he really likes strawberries. like so so much.’ steve asks, focusing on trying to read the tapes even harder as he feels his neck get warm the longer he hears no reply.

‘no right? no, i don’t think so. it’s like friendly bonding. totally wholesome.’ steve gives up on the tapes. coming around to stare at robin across the counter. he gnaws on his cuticle and stares at her eyeballs so hard he goes cross eyed.

‘what the fuck’ robin whispers ‘it’s 9 in the morning’

‘robinnnnn’ steve whines because she not helping and he needs her to help, like so much, like right now.

‘ok ok! ask me again.’ she demands, finally looking alive and like she’ll actually fulfil her best friend duties like he needs.

steve takes a deep breath. ‘is it gay to…’

‘yes.’ robin interrupts before he can finish.

steve opens and closes his mouth a couple times. his mind is blank. blank except for an image of eddie and an image of a strawberry and an intense need in his gut to have the two connect.

‘shit’ steve rubs his hand down his face.

‘fraid so, it’s super gay and i hate to be the one to break it to ya.’ robin pats him on the shoulder, genuinely looking like she feels sorry for him. until her face shifts into a grin that’s a touch feral. ‘your crush on eddie is officially terminal.’

steve feels the heat on his neck slither up and bite at his cheeks. ‘who, uh, who said it was eddie?’

‘oh come on steve! i’m your best friend i see how you look at him.’ robin laments, rolling her eyes with her whole body, instantly calling his paper thin bluff.

steve groans, pushes away from the counter and starts pacing ‘ugh okay yes fine! i wanna take eddie on a gay strawberry date and make him smile and hold his hand and other stuff and, and im kinda freaking out here rob!’ steve feels frazzled. he cards a hand through his hair and tuggs.

‘okay. okay! it’s fine see, it’s fine.’ robin says, giving steve two big thumbs up and a smile that does nothing to hide the panic in her eyes. steve whines again and goes back to pacing.

‘uhhh okay! is this gay stress or eddie specific stress?’ robin joins him in pacing but she stays behind the counter. ‘because i know we talked about that kid in camp and you had a lot to say about that one guy you saw at a swim meet and then when we watched blade runner you talked over it a lot like normal but also got like really quiet when harrison ford was all kinda sweaty and stuff.’ robin finally takes a breath and turn back to face steve who is gaping at her. he feels like she just dissected his brain like it was a frog.

‘so i feel like we discussed the whole’ robin flails her arms up and down his general being. ‘bi thing. so i’m thinking this is more a like eddie specific freak out and so, like, shut the fuck up actually? hes obsessed with you steve!’ robin finishes, finally.

‘who’s obsessed with steve?’ eddie’s asks. because eddie’s there now. flanked by the three corroded coffin boys, all looking at steve like he’s something to be wary of.

‘uh’ robin and steve say in unison.

‘kieth!’ robin shouts with way too much enthusiasm for their manager who barely does his job. ‘yeah, ha. he’s been doing the schedules so the two of them overlap like, all the time. steve here always figured the guy hated him but, uh, times they do be a changing. yeah, he’s to-totally obsessed.’ robin smiles way too big and steve can only match it. staring at her, trying to make her shut. up. using only his minimal bran power.

‘oooh’ eddie says because he’s an angel who would never make fun of robin even if she’s being super weird.

‘uh, we’re gonna go look at the sci-fi section ed’s.’ Gareth says, his face one of confusion and maybe a little bit of fear.

‘buckley. harrington.’ jeff says nodding his head in acknowledgment of the two before they all wonder off. gareth and (unnamed freak) repeat the motion and follow.

huh. that’s good. eddie’s friends are taking longer than most to thaw to steve. he gets it, but, still, sometimes it stings.

‘cool yeah.’ eddie says watching them slip away. ‘movie day.’ eddie explains, smiling so big his eyes squish into little crescents, bouncing on his toes.

steve feels his actual heart clench. like god himself is reaching into his chest and squeezing it.

‘that’s great man’ steve says, voice coming out breathy but eddie’s smile only brightens further when their eyes lock. so steve has to spend a second remembering to breath in again.

‘you want to join? oh uh. i mean. you can’t. your working.’ eddie babbles, slowly going strawberry red. ‘and like, i know you don’t love horror and stuff and that’s kinda the vibe we’re going for so, maybe um, maybe some other time. a time your not working but when it’s not like alien over and over. uh yeah.’

‘doyouwanttogoberrypicking. with me?’ steve blurts. feeling his whole head heat up and run down his chest. he clamps a hand over his mouth, eyes wide.

eddie looks shocked, eyes so big and confused and pretty.

but before steve knows it, the sun peaks over the mountains and the corners of eddie’s mouth curl into a grin that’s so delighted steve’s toes almost curl.

‘yeah. course i would.’ eddie says, so softly, so shyly through his still strawberry red smile..

The Lyric is such a tiny theatre, it’s so cute

Melanie La Barrie as Hermes is actually the best thing in the world

RACHELLLLL QUEEN OF THE WORLD (she’s done nothing but sit on the balcony so far)

i love it in road to hell when Hermes introduces Orpheus but has to remind him to say hi to the audience and he waves like the autistic boy he is it’s wonderful

one of the workers is missing an arm and she’s just rocking the choreo love that <3

Eurydice is INCREDIBLE omg her voice is so raw and powerful

SCOTTISH ORPHEUS ‼️‼️ they replace every “yes” he has with “aye”

RACHEL PERSEPHONE YIPPEEEEE!!!!!!!! She ATE livin it up on top- also she and Hermes were besties during her whole time on the surface

Persephone has the most worried and pained expressions every time she dances in Way Down Hadestown, it was so sad. You could tell that she had no control over herself in that moment. (also im just a sucker for puppet choreography)

Scottish Orpheus holds Eurydice at the end of Way Down Hadestown bc he notices her becoming tempted 🥺

HADES BUILT THE WALL BECAUSE DOUBT CAME IN THAT PERSEPHONE WOULDNT COME BACK BRO I HATE THIS SHOW

TURNTABLE JUMPSCARE- since I’ve only seen the tour which obv doesn’t have turntables, so all the choreo with it was new to me and it added so much

Is this Hades a baritone? Or even a tenor? He sang Hey Little Songbird way higher than Patrick or even Nickolaus did

I feel like at some point between the obc and now they switched up which fates sing which lines and have which instruments 

HE STARTS SCREAM SINGING IN WAIT FOR ME LETS GOOOOOOO!!!!!!! If there’s anything I’ve learned this week it’s that more pathetic white boys should scream sing in their big numbers (thank you Dylan Wood and Jac Yarrow)

Scottish Orpheus’ voice is just so powerful in general. He hits the high notes beautifully and belts his heart out in other parts.

The walls receding is genuinely the coolest part of the show it’s awesome

At one point during Why We Build the Wall, Hades looked back at Persephone. To make sure she was singing along. Because he doubted.

Literally the MOMENT the door closes, Persephone turns around and asks “anybody want a drink?” Like, no hesitation frame one personality shift

Act II

Hermes and Persephone are actually the best duo in the show- they walk on arm in arm and Persephone tries to kiss them lol

RACHEL DID THE CRAZIEST OPT UP ON “there’s a crack in the wall” THE ENTIRE THEATRE CHEERED SHE WAS SO ELPHABA I HELD SPACE FOR IT THATS WHY SHES MY BESTIE!!!!!!!!! 

Scottish Orpheus enters from the house right audience and climbs a scaffolding to get back on stage and does a little happy dance when he goes “it’s me!!” obsessed

Hermes just spends all of Act II (and even the second half of Act I) looking so sad- makes sense, since they knows what’s going to happen but it’s still so sad

Scottish Orpheus scream sings again in If it’s True, both when he’s mourning Eurydice and when he’s rallying the workers I’m so obsessed with it

Ok so Hades sang low again in How Long- guess he’s a baritone who wasn’t comfortable enough with the crazy low notes of Act I but could rock Act II 

I love the lights at the end of How Long where the blue light shines on Hades and the orange light shines on Persephone- it feels like an inversion of their colors (Hades is more warm colors while Persephone is cool colors)

Persephone looks so proud of Scottish Orpheus and the union- new headcanon: Persephone is now Orpheus’ second (third?) mom

Before Epic III, Hermes ruffles Scottish Orpheus’ hair, grabs his arm, and squeezes his hand. They leave to go, but he holds onto them and doesn’t let go- Hermes had to pull themself away 😭

Hades and Persephone looked so happy once they started dancing it was adorable

Scottish Orpheus and Eurydice both had such raw voices that they blend so well together omggggg

Historians will say Mel!Hermes and Rachel!Persephone were best friends omg Harold they’re lesbians

Ik I already mentioned Hermes looking sad but ohmy GOD it’s worse in Wait For Me Reprise bc they are center stage watching Orpheus lead everyone away, knowing he’ll fail but hoping he won’t 

The way it’s pitch black during Dout Comes In is actually terrifying, it really feels like you got transported into Scottish Orpheus’ mind

Literally how did it get sadder the second time I’ve seen it what 😭😭  

I need Rachel to sing We Raise Our Cups to me every day bro 

In summary: this show is incredible!! Thought it was amazing when i saw it on tour but it’s even better in an environment where it’s meant to be performed. Love Scottish Orpheus and Rachel Tucker owns my entire heart I can’t believe she’s real
