What Car Cosmere Characters Would Drive

As requested by @salted-watermelon :)

If Cosmere characters were instead carsmere characters and, like, drove cars, what kind of car would best suit them? (Don't worry--I got my butch wife to help with this post.)

1. Straff Venture: A cybertruck

The worst of cars for the worst of men.

2. Elend: A Prius

Elend decides to get an environmentally conscious, gas-saving vehicle partly because he cares about the planet, but mostly because it makes his dad SO mad.

3. Kaladin: A beat-up old Corolla

Kaladin's car may be a bit old and it may be a bit beat-up but storms if it isn't the most dependable thing ever. No matter what that car goes through, it just keeps chugging along.

4. Adolin: A Mustang

Get it? Because it's a car with a horse on it!

5. Shallan: A VW Bug

"What's an artsy car for Shallan?" I asked. "How about a Bug?" said my wife. "That's perfect!" I cried. "Shallan LOVES bugs because cremlings is bugs!"

And that is my story.

6. Wax: A Bentley...and also a beat-up old pickup truck

In true Wax style, he drives the Bentley in the Roughs but uses the old beat-up pickup truck in the city, especially when driving to fancy parties.

7. Steris: A Volvo

According to a google search, a Volvo is a car for someone dependable, boring, and safety-conscious. Steris is not actually a boring person, of course, but she would definitely have a boring-person car. Not to mention one that is very safe!

8. Eshonai: A Jeep

A good car for exploring!

9. Lightsong: Rolls Royce

He doesn't drive it anywhere. It mostly just sits there and looks beautiful.

10. Vasher: A mangled Dodge Charger

The car looks a lot like Vasher himself--like it's been through centuries of wear and tear. But hey, it works! Sorta.

11. Leshwi: A Motorcycle

Basically I thought about Leshwi riding a motorcycle and then I passed out.

12. Allrianne: Mini Coop

Apparently these are the girliest of cars. And in Allrianne's case, it's definitely pink!

13. Tress: Takes the bus

In no universe does Tress have a car, I feel. Taking the bus is fine!

Who is Butch's dad???

The biggest mystery of Vault 101 to me if the fact no one knows who Butch’s dad is, not even him, and Ellen was never married. According to the official Fallout 3 guide, the reason Butch acts out and is an overall terrible person is because his mother being an alcoholic and his lack of a father pushes him to be rebellious. Seeing the Lone Wanderer with perhaps the only caring dad in the vault may be why he targets them the most.

My theories are:

1) The Overseer. This one is far fetched, I know; but it is interesting to consider. If he is Butch’s father, it would make sense for him to enable Ellen’s alcoholism to keep her from sharing Butch’s father. Who would believe the vault drunk? Him employing the Tunnel Snakes may be to keep a close eye on Butch. However, considering the vault canonically has abortion pills according to voice lines, he would probably have Ellen flush out a pregnancy to avoid scandal.

2) Allen Mack. To be honest, everyone is related to the Mack family for some reason so let me throw him into the ring. This has some gross implications though; considering Susie refers to Butch as “dreamy” and Christine (who is a cousin to the Macks) “puts out,” I would like to wipe this one off the table all together. Also, Allen seems to love his wife Gloria very much, seeing how his personality completely switches after she dies.

3) A wastelander. This one is my favorite. If we take Butch’s birthday from this wiki at face value, he was born at the tail end of 2257, meaning he was conceived in February of 2257 give or take. If Alphonse closed the vault doors in 2257 or 2258, Ellen could have been one of the vault dwellers who made a trip to the wasteland beforehand. It could be plausible she met a wastelander, fell in love, Butch was conceived, and the vault doors were closed before or shortly after he was born. The loss of her love could have sparked her alcoholism, and again, if she says anything about the vault once being open, who would trust the vault drunk?

This is so interesting to me, especially since it was never touched on in the game. Maybe there's some tension in the vault from women who don't trust there husbands, wondering if their partner could be the father of Ellen's child, especially because she's regarded as a "fading beauty."

I almost posted this on /r/falloutlore before I read that speculation was against the rules :P oh well

Penny: shes cis, she THOUGHT she was straight and tries so so hard to suppress any sapphic thoughts but she does in fact like girls (and probably is aspec too). has lots of internalized homophobia and shes always wanted to be the perfect child, perfect teacher, someday the perfect wife and mother, etc and this freaks her out a bit because she worries it means shes “wrong” somehow. YOURE NOTTT PENNY ITS OK TO BE GAY!!! everyone thinks of Haley as Pelican Town’s #1 comphet lesbian but i bet Penny is struggling with this a lot as well, just in a different way. (didnt realize i had so many penny thoughts wow)

Maru: aroace!!! shed be open to a relationship but i think she’d mostly prefer qprs. though dating isnt entirely out of the question, its not a requirement or a big interest to her. probably nonbinary/agender as well, but gender doesnt matter that much to her (i dont think she gets any/much dysphoria)

Sam: PAN and prouddd lol. i could see him being trans or cis, i dont know as much about him though. he could have some nonbinaryism too as a treat <3

Sebastian: bi without a preference towards either, and hes a trans guy. sometimes i forget that this isnt canon 💀

Harvey: bisexual and a flustered MESS lmfao. he could be cis or trans. i think, as a doctor, him being trans would be pretty awesome 👍 it probably influenced his career choice as well, to better understand hrt and surgery and all. thats always a cool thing to look into :)

Elliott: this is a gay man. cant imagine him with a woman, sorry ladies. either cis or a trans man, either way i can feel the genderqueerness radiating off of him (ngl i thought he was a beautiful literary woman at first 💔💔)

Shane: i dont think he labels his sexuality. could be aroacespec, could be multisexual or monosexual, he doesnt know and doesnt care. if he gets a crush, then he has a crush, whatever. i dont think that happens often though. probably nonbinary too but hes got a job so he doesnt have time to think about that right now LMFAO

hello boys, it's been a bleak and deranged week here at the Haus of Crowe (really brutal stretch of retail, dog illness the dog immediately forgot ever happened (he is fine), sudden travel to funeral for my aunt's incredible and beloved wife that my parents NEGLECTED TO TELL ME THE DATE OF so I found out at ten pm the night before and was on a Greyhound approximately eight fucking hours later, even more brutal retail). but it's Christmas now and I really hope I get a wish or some ghosts or some shit. I'm so fucking tired and sad. but it's Christmas and I love Christmas. Corey is making chicken and roasted potatoes with lots of lemon and garlic right now, and playing jazz (the music of Cooking), and the tree is aglow, and my little desk crystal lamp is aglow, and I've just finished a lightly difficult piece of Sekrit Crafting, and I love you.

also maybe I'll post some photos later with a little more of the story but my bus home from Cyn's funeral was at 4am the day after the service, and I didn't want to crash with either my sister or my dad and have to deal with someone grumpily taking me to the Greyound station in the middle of the night, so I went looking for a late Philly bar to kill most of that time safe from the cold, preferably a divey queer one, and accidentally ended up in a red-lit leatherfag bar with a fetish basement (only open on weekends), where gay men of multiple generations looked out for me when I almost fell asleep at the bar, and talked to me about 80s noise and industrial music, and wordplay, and families, and problems with cis men (thanks, other transmasc), and bought me gin and tonics, and recommended the 24 hour fried chicken joint a few blocks out to stay warm in and get a nice little meal as a safe place to switch over to once the bar closed, and listened to me yell in grief and anger about my beautiful butch aunt Cynthia, dead at sixty (how was she sixty? she didn't look sixty), and let me play them numbers stations for some fucking reason, and it was the kindest most perfect place I could have possibly landed.
