Are people like these even really Katara stans?

"Katara continues to be the manager of everyone else's emotions while simultaneously punching down her own. The scales finally seem to tip when Zuko joins the group. With Zuko, we see someone working alongside Katara doing the same tasks she is doing around camp for the first time."
bruh what? the way zutaras will literally make shit up and try to pass it off as canon is laughable
first off, katara canonically is not made to do the work around camp alone. there is literally an entire episode after toph joins the group where katara gets onto her because she isn't carrying her weight like everyone else does. she utters these words in book 2 episode 8 "the chase":
Katara: So Toph, usually when setting up camp, we try to divide up the work.
Toph: [Shrugging casually.] Hey, don't worry about me. I'm good to go.
Katara: Well, actually what I'm trying to say is, [Holds arms out in gesture.] some of us might fetch water, while someone else might set up the fire pit, or put up the tent. [Momo flies over to her, dropping several berries he had collected into her hands.] Even Momo does his fair share.
this whole "katara is forced to do all the work around camp like the woman she is" argument that zks have been throwing around is so stupid because it is entirely untrue. i'm assuming this comes from the few times where we see katara cook food, which in the minds of zks is proof that sokka, aang, and even toph all bully katara into being their mommy who feeds them and that katara is in need of a big strong feminist man like a fire nation colonizer prince to rescue her. but what about all the times where we see aang and sokka fend for themselves or even provide the food? in the episode where we meet haru, sokka is the one who went hunting for the food. aang frequently has to find food for himself considering his diet is different from all his friends ("the headband" where aang says he'll find some lettuce in the garbage while his friends head into a meat shop). katara is not the only one who performs manual labor in the gaang i can promise you that
secondly, when are y'all going to let the "katara does all the emotional labor in the gaang" argument die. it is actually such a comically stupid argument considering it is birthed out of the instances where katara makes the conscious decision to console aang while he's in the avatar state. the first instance being where he stumbles upon the decayed body of his mentor and best friend, gyatso, thus proving that the fire nation was in fact there at the temples and did in fact kill his people. this sends aang into an emotionally triggered avatar state. do y'all realize how much he must have been hurting for the avatar state to be forced upon him? it is stated multiple times in the show that the avatar state is a defense mechanism, so imagine how badly he must have been in pain for his body and spirit to go into defense mode. katara made the decision to console him instead of running for her life because she is a kind-hearted person who can relate to the loss of a loved one. in front of her was another genocide survivor finding out that he is completely alone in this world without his people. she was being kind-hearted by telling him that he still has a family with her and sokka and that despite his loss he is not alone. i would not consider that emotional labor considering aang was quite literally experiencing one of the worst things a person can experience: finding out your entire race of people have been exterminated and you are the sole survivor
the second instance of katara reaching out to aang while he's in the avatar state is when he comes face to face with the sandbenders who stole appa. this is the one most zks latch onto because they think it's ridiculous that aang went into a rage over "the loss of a pet", forcing katara to act as his emotional support system once again. you guys lack so much empathy it is insane. appa is not just "a pet" to aang. in fact, he's not even a pet to him. appa is his best and longest friend, the one other being who was alive to see the air nation at its most beautiful and the only other being who possessed the ability to airbend. in the earth kingdom chronicles, aang says it himself that he doesn't feel like the last airbender with appa around. so appa is not just a friend but a literal connection to his lost people and culture. not only that, but appa is aang's animal guide. they have a spiritual connection, so i bet you anything that when appa was lost it felt like a piece of aang's very spirit had gone with him. aang lost so much the moment appa was taken from him that i'm genuinely surprised so many people use "the desert" episode as something against him. again, how much pain do you think he was in to have the avatar state forced upon him? a lot of people seem to forget that aang doesn't purposefully go into the avatar state, something he isn't even capable of doing considering he has yet to master it. he is literally being triggered into it in every single instance before the finale. katara reaching out to him isn't aang being manipulative by forcing her to take care of him. it is literally just her recognizing that her friend has been pushed beyond his limits and deciding to be there for him rather than run from him
aang tries doing this for her in "the southern raiders" when her pain and rage pushes her into behaving a certain way that is unlike her, but y'all brush this off as him not accepting the "real her" so you can keep living in this delusion that katara is only truly understood by zuko and all her friends and her literal brother just don't get her. "Zuko is the only person who never expects anything of her" WRONG. he literally asks her what is wrong with her when she isn't behaving friendly towards him like everyone else, expecting her to do so because all the others have already forgiven him. rewatch this episode again since it's y'alls favorite but try actually paying attention this time
"...and whose emotions she never has to manage because he's actually more emotionally stable and mature than she is by that point."
y'all do not actually like katara. because someone who actually likes katara would not say that a man who literally became physically sick after he did ONE (1) good thing is more emotionally stable and mature than her. zuko's redemption arc is not complete by the end of the story and i need yall to get that through your heads. by the end of the show, he is still racially unaware and insensitive (his comments toward aang) and in order for a former colonizer to be fully redeemed, he has to become aware of his racial insensitivity/prejudices and fix that. just because he switched sides and helped end the war doesn't mean his work is done. he still has a long way to go, and if you consider the comics canon then he actually MAJORLY backtracks on his path to redemption by asking his genocidal maniac of a father for political advice. give me a fucking break. never speak on katara if you genuinely think zuko has a leg up on her in terms of maturity of any sort. this is the same boy who decided to start spitting balls of fire at aang instead of using his big boy voice to communicate the urgency of them continuing to train. and to be fair, no one in the gaang is really all that mature, katara included, but zuko is 100% at the end of the line. the only reason y'all think he is super mature is because he had his worldview changed whereas all the other characters didn't have to go through that to become good people
"For reasons that are never explained or justified, Katara rewards the hero by giving into his romantic advances even though he has invalidated her emotions, violated her boundaries, lashed out at her for slights against him she never committed, idealized a false idol of her then browbeat her when she deviated from his narrative, and forced her to carry his emotions and put herself in danger when he willingly fails to control himself—even though he never apologizes, never learns his lesson, and never shows any inclination to do better."
the utter delusion
katara does not just "give in" to aang's advances. she returns them herself and we see that throughout the show. aang is the only one she is physically affectionate with (cheek kisses, hand stroking his cheek, holding him against herself, etc.) and the only one who she doesn't have a teasing banter with. he is the only character, other than jet, who makes her blush multiple times. him leaving in "the awakening" left her so upset that the trauma of her dad leaving was of equal levels of hurt. she got jealous of him dancing with another girl in "the headband" which would only make sense if she had feelings for him. zutaras have convinced their selves that katara never had any actual feelings for aang and that is just canonically untrue
the whole "aang sexually assaulted katara" argument needs to die. in atla/tlok, spontaneous kisses are not meant to depict sexual violence/violations. now this is 100% the mistake of the writers for not choosing to go about creating romantic drama in a way that is healthier and more acceptable in the real world, but it is clear that in these universes those kisses are not meant to be actual violations of the characters' autonomy. especially considering that many of the spontaneous kisses we get between characters are well-received with only the few being used to spike drama. this is much the same with aang and katara. aang kissing her before the invasion was spontaneous but well-received as she kissed him back and blushed. the kiss during the play intermission was not well-received and was a mistake on his part. the atla/tlok writers should not have used these kisses to create romantic drama/tension in the shows and should have portrayed better communication between couples to firmly establish consent. now after the ember island play, aang and katara's relationship is put on the backburner as they must focus on ending the war, and when their relationship is picked back up once the war is over it is katara who initiates contact. she follows him outside, hugs him, and then leans in to kiss him. she takes the lead here and he follows her cues
i don't know what this person means when they say aang lashes out at her for slights she never committed because aang rarely ever lashes out at any of his friends. the one instance that immediately comes to mind is, of course, "the desert" where everyone becomes his opp lmao. but i have to ask the question, why are characters like zuko allowed to lash out when they're emotionally suffering but aang isn't? zuko lashes out at iroh so many times during season 3 alone that i'm surprised zuko stans even feel comfortable holding other characters' moments of aggression against them. now if this person is maybe referring to "the southern raiders" where aang tries to keep katara from murdering someone, then i'm still confused. because aang doesn't ever get angry with her during that episode. he isn't happy, obviously, but he's never angry with her nor does he talk down at her or accuse her of committing any kind of act that isn't truthful to the situation. at most, he tells her that she sounds like jet which isn't entirely wrong. jet's trauma turned into rage that overwhelmed his character and became the driving force of his behavior. it led to him not caring if people died, as long as he was able to hurt the people who hurt him in the process. and while the comparison isn't perfect and hearing it didn't help katara, it isn't entirely unsupported. again, not sure what op was getting at here but i'll take a wild guess and assume it's not even based on canon in the first place
aang never idealizes her as a false idol and then browbeats her when she strays from his idea of her. that's just stupid. now i know this is referring to "the southern raiders". aang loves katara's fire. he cheers for her when she fights pakku. he calls her a hero when he finds out she's been lying to help the village in "the painted lady". he even jumps at the opportunity to help her and has the biggest smile on his face while doing so. he absolutely does not think katara is this perfect saint who isn't capable of destruction. if anything, he knows katara has a fire within her and he loves it when it comes out because it usually ends with her helping others in need and changing their environment for the better. the only thing is, he wants to see this fierceness be expressed in healthy ways because he cares about her. when katara wants to murder yon rha, she's in a blind rage. her emotions are haywire and all she can focus on is what she believes will alleviate her of this pain and guilt she feels surrounding her mother's death. it is much similar to what aang went through in "the desert" when he had the chance to get back at the sandbenders. but katara reached out to him, allowing him to let his anger out--to express himself--before calming down. and she didn't do this because she thought aang's rage was wrong but because she knows aang. he'd be so angry with himself if he came out of his rage and saw what he did. "the southern raiders" was katara's "the desert". she had the opportunity to confront yon rha but wanted to kill him. aang (and sokka!!! her literal brother!! the person who has known her her whole life!! and can share a piece of the actual tragedy she's mourning!!!!) tries talking her down from killing the man because he knows she'll regret it when she comes out of her rage. aang isn't against her rage, in fact he tells her to let her anger out. he just doesn't want her to get her hands bloody at 14-years-old. i don't know why this is so controversial, but not wanting your friend to commit murder in cold blood shouldn't make you the devil reincarnated
"and forced her to carry his emotions and put herself in danger when he willingly fails to control himself" you zutaras lack so much empathy it's actually pathetic to witness. "willingly"?? it is stated over and over again how aang does NOT have control of the avatar state and it is a DEFENSE MECHANISM. it is his instinct as the avatar. he can't suppress it nor get out of it until he masters control. katara did not have to reach out to him during those moments. she could have ran away like sokka and toph did. she chose not to though because even when he's in the avatar state she sees him as a human 12-year-old who has literally gone through so much tragedy, has pushed down so much, that it all comes to a head when confronted with his pain full on. she reaches out to him because she cares and wants to keep him from making a mistake. it is not her responsibility to do that, and aang never forces that on her. if anything, it is being forced on him considering he literally cannot control the power of the avatar state yet
and he DOES learn. his mistakes are always addressed by him beating himself up for them, repressing his emotions, and accepting the consequences. in "bato of the water tribe", aang owns up to his mistake and then accepts the consequences. he doesn't try begging sokka and katara for forgiveness or try making them stay. after "the desert", aang feels so bad about his blow up that he literally represses his emotions. he becomes a walking blank slate because he doesn't want to hurt anyone else. in "the serpent's pass", he realizes that it's important for him to still hold onto hope and to not suppress everything he feels. and he literally TALKS TO KATARA AND ADMITS HE WAS WRONG. he tells her that his pain got in the way of his ability to function, but that he has been reminded of the importance of letting yourself have hope and to love. in "the ember island players" he berates himself by saying he was so stupid and banging his head on the banister. he literally always owns up to a mistake and internalizes it by suppressing his actual feelings, accepting the consequences, and berating himself. again, why are characters like zuko allowed to make mistakes, take episodes upon seasons long to realize those mistakes, and then make up for them in the form of "i'm sorry i colonized a part of the world and called you a disgraceful old man" apologies but aang isn't?
"Throughout the comics, Katara makes herself smaller and smaller and forfeits all rights to personal actualization and satisfaction in her relationship. She punches her feelings down when her partner neglects her and cries alone as he shows more affection and concern for literally every other girl’s feelings than hers."
literally huh? are they referring to aang meeting his fanclub and the beginnings of the air acolytes? cause aang doesn't neglect her—is she a puppy or a human girl?
also, katara never suffers in silence and allows aang to do as he pleases even in the shitty comics. she vocalizes herself when she disagrees with him on the harmony movement thing and is the one who gets him to start thinking differently. she doesn't make herself smaller to allow him to be the big and strong man. you zutaras are just stupid as all fuck and want her to become a lesser character so you feel justified in saying that kataang ruined her character
"She becomes cowed by his outbursts and threats of violence. Instead of rising with the moon or resting in the warmth of the sun, she learns to stay in his shadow."
literally pulling shit out your ass. when does aang ever get violent? this is aang we are talking about. the pacifist monk? also, katara is the one who encourages him to accept zuko's promise of killing him if he becomes like ozai. so yeah, sure buddy, aang is the one with the knack for vengeance and katara is his little abused puppy forced to follow his orders or else she won't get her scooby snacks
"She gives up her silly childish dreams of rebuilding her own dying culture’s traditions and advocating for other oppressed groups so that she can fulfill his wishes to rebuild his culture instead—by being his babymaker."
in the comics she helps fight and suppress the budding civil war between the north and southern water tribes. it is canon that she spent a lot of her time going from the water tribes to areas in the earth kingdom that needed her help after the war. her and aang didn't go everywhere together despite their relationship. also, calling her a babymaker is misogynistic. she had 3 children and there is literally nothing to suggest that she did that unwillingly. in fact, we know that katara was excited to have children considering she pestered aunt wu with question after question about who she was gonna marry and how many kids/grandkids she was gonna have. there is nothing to suggest that she never wanted to be a mom. also, becoming a mom doesn't wipe a woman clean of her accomplishments nor does it prohibit her from accumulating more of them. her life did not end when she became a mother and i need y'all to never speak on her if this is your attitude towards motherhood. this girlboss feminism that you zutara stans have is so fucking ridiculous. introduce yourself to intersectionality
"Katara gave up everything she cared about and everything she fought to become for the whims of a man-child who never saw her as a person, only a possession."
again, making shit up and insulting aang for no reason. just because aang, at 12-years-old, behaved childishly doesn't mean that aang, as a grown man, will behave the same exact way. and if you can't see the huge jump in maturity he had from the beginning of the show to the end, then that's you being purposefully obtuse. also, no canon proof that aang ever saw her as a possession considering he fell in love with all aspects of her character and was willing to go to extraordinary lengths to protect her and help her thrive ("why would i choose cosmic energy over katara" and "you're like a secret hero" and the biggest fucking smile a person has ever worn while committing ecoterrorism with his best friend)
"The story’s theme was destiny, remember? But this story’s target audience was little boys. Zuko gets to determine his own destiny as long as he works hard and earns it. Aang gets his destiny no matter what he does or doesn’t do to earn it. And Katara cannot change the destiny she was assigned by gender at birth, no matter how hard she fights for it or how many times over she earns it."
are we forgetting that katara only became a waterbending master, her literal dream, because of HER efforts? pakku turned her away because of her gender but she didn't take that. she made that man fight her. she wasn't going to just sit there and let someone refuse her because she's a girl, and she didn't! she became one of his students and through her OWN hard work became a master. she shaped her future as a waterbending master because she worked hard to ensure it was possible for her. and her talent at waterbending opened her up to new possibilities like healing and bloodbending. her experience with bloodbending was forced upon her and she addressed that by later outlawing bloodbending. she outlawed it. yakone literally namedrops her. but you zutara dumbasses will sit there with your thumb up your ass blabbing about how she was never involved in politics and just became a barefoot housewife for her abusive husband who'd get home and make her give him another baby
"I will never get over it. Because I am Katara. And so are my friends, sisters, daughters, and nieces. But I am not content to live in Bryke's world."
so you admit it? katara is your self insert? you project onto katara and think that because you had a crush on the colonizer that katara should too?
also the white feminism here is insane. again, introduce yourself to intersectionality sometime. it'll radicalize you
"I will never turn my back on people who need me. Including me."
how you felt after saying that

I’m sick and tired of hearing these:
“Elain will come around”
“Lucien deserves someone too”
“They’re mated”
“They’ll get along eventually”
Please.
These arguments are literally the most popular arguments that I see all the time in nearly every comment section about them.
Perhaps it’s me being overdramatic or in general a bit of a hot take but I feel like the people who say this have a little 🤏 internalized misogyny.
Like imagine genuinely feeling uncomfortable around somebody who you’re match made with and people continue to debate over whether or not you should “come around” just because the man deserves it.
Just because your dear Lulu deserves it?
It really rubs me the wrong way. What about Elain’s wants? What about her feelings? Her thoughts? As if her body language wasn’t obvious enough of a tell tale sign of her discomfort. Not to mention the fact that Lucien is also uncomfortable around her.
Moreover, regarding my thoughts on Lucien:
I also feel like the same people who say these things are the ones who truly glorify Lucien and think him to be some innocent puppy or just an all around good guy.
Do we not remember the fact that he enabled Tamlin’s abusive tendencies by doing nothing for Feyre? Do we not remember that he tracked Feyre down like some hunting dog to get her back because (mainly) Tamlin wanted her back? (Even then, it was all about Tamlin rather than Feyre, the one actually suffering the most.)
Lucien’s eye widened slightly. “We need to get out of here. Tamlin’s been—he hasn’t been himself. I’ll take you right to—” “No,” I breathed (ACOMAF, ch 47).
All about Tamlin.
I understand Tamlin saved his life. I understand that Tamlin means a lot to Lucien. They’ve been friends for centuries. I get it. But his constant “I’ll try to talk to him” wasn’t enough. I feel like Lucien should’ve been the bigger person in that situation with Feyre. She literally begged him for help.
“I begged you,” I said, the words sharp and breathless. “I begged you so many times to help me, to get me out of the house, even for an hour. And you left me alone, or shoved me into a room with Ianthe, or told me to stick it out.” (ACOMAF, ch 47).
He knew and recognized the fact that Feyre was actively wasting away under Tamlin’s discretion yet he chose to stand by because Tamlin is his friend and a High Lord. It’s honestly no better than kicking an already downed man.
Not to mention the fact that he compared Elain to his dead ex lover? And questions if Elain is even worth the attention or attempt to bond with? If she is even worth risking his life for just to get to the Night Court after betraying Tamlin? (Not very mate-like behavior). Kind of shitty if you ask me.
Lucien isn’t an amazing person, just as everyone else in the book. No one’s a 100% good guy in ACOTAR. But some actions (or rather inactions) are justifiable just as some others are not.
So all this talk about “Lucien deserves love too” while Elain is merely treated as a prop for him because he deserves love and not her too is utterly ridiculous. It’s gotten to the point where I neglect looking into ACOTAR comment sections lol.
Now with all of this being said, I don’t hate Lucien. I don’t love him either. He’s just there for me. There’s plenty wrong that he’s done just as anyone else. I just wish people would stop babying him and glorifying him as if he’s some saint. He deserves better than that.
And most of all, Elain deserves better treatment too. But then again, people in this fandom are ✨delusional✨ and close minded so I don’t think that may happen. Especially not until Elain’s book release.
Rant over.

I'd love to hear your thoughts about Percy! What is your opinion on him in general? Do you like how his character arc was handled by JKR? What are your thoughts on popular fandom takes about Percy (him being a terrible disgrace to the Weasley family for siding with the Ministry/Voldemort; him being a secret hero of the rebellion who deserved better; etc)? And your thoughts on Percy ships? Who, if anyone, do you ship him with?
I think he’s wicked awesome and way too hated, I will genuinely defend him with my life. If my family treated me that badly I’d tell them to fuck off too, he was literally so excluded from his family because he wasn’t some Quidditch-loving jock and actually preferred to study and stay indoors. And he got mocked consistently just because he wanted a bright future. Sure he may appear a bit stuck-up to those who don’t know him well, but his family?? Plus after he legitimately got the job of his dreams, his father’s immediate reaction was to tell him he didn’t actually earn it and that it was all just a ploy. I would actually be so hurt. Like sure Arthur did end up being right, BUT YOU COULD’VE SAID IT A BIT DIFFERENTLY?? A simple “you earned it anyway, son” or “I’m proud of you” would’ve sufficed, alongside an explanation of why Percy MIGHT have gotten the job. He went about it way too harshly, if I got shut down like that after getting the job I’ve been working for my whole life, I’d have done a lot worse.
And I totally get Percy’s resentment, he felt as though his father wasn’t reaching his full potential due to his proud showcase of Muggle-fangirling. And since he (Arthur) was basically the sole provider in a large family that lived in poverty, I can see why Percy would feel frustration towards his father. Plus why do people act as if Percy was always “so horrible” even before he “abandoned” his family? He literally went RUSHING to Ronald when he got out of the lake in GoF and refused to let go of him, and he loved Ginny to death. He was protective of his younger siblings and was pretty funny imo, it’s hard not to sympathise with him when he has siblings like Fred and George.
He genuinely deserved so much better, he was constantly shut down for his accomplishments and cared so much for his siblings despite their mocking, plus he still came back to apologise to them and then proceeded to see his baby brother die in front of him????? How could you hate him after DH?? I don’t think he’s a disgrace to his family at all, sure he was shitty to Molly but, with what he must’ve been going through at the time, I get it. And any resentment he felt towards his family was completely and utterly justified. Plus he literally apologised, so even if you disagree with what I’m saying and think he’s scum or whatever, he legit still apologised to them? He still redeemed himself? Whatever he’s supposedly done that you hate him for, he redeemed himself for it. And I feel like people forget how young Percy was when all this happened? He’s only like 4 years older than Harry and was still 18/19 when all the family drama occurred, and he held a huge responsibility in the ministry. And having grown up as the lone middle child with the burden of knowing his family isn’t respected much must’ve had a tremendous influence on someone as ambitious as Perce. People should really see things from his perspective sometimes. Imo the only genuinely shitty things he’s done is 1. his treatment of Molly 2. his letter to Ron about Harry (but even then, I completely understand why Percy said what he said), anything other than that is usually just exaggerated by his haters.
One character he’s always reminded me of is Alex Dunphy from Modern Family (*tries to summon Modern Family fans*), she was also the odd one out in her family because she was super studious and introverted. And she had a desperate need to prove herself and was very ambitious, much like Perce. Her meltdowns and extreme studying was treated as a joke to the viewers and her sister Haley constantly made fun of her for it. She reminds me a lot of him tbh, which is why I love both characters so much.
lol this was supposed to be a quick short ask explaining why I love him and who I ship him with, and it resulted in a whole rant 😭 that’s usually how I get whenever his name gets brought up. Also Nonnie, I ship Percy with Oliver :D and I think he and Penelope Clearwater really deserved more screentime, they were such a delightful couple imo.
And thanks for the ask btw, I missed talking about him!!
#if anything you have to say about him is negative then just hush cause i don’t wanna hear it#percy weasley appreciation#pro percy weasley#percy weasley#harry potter#hp#ask#asks

Giving you a character: Billy, of course. :p
Of course, Billy Hargrove was to be expected :D
How I feel about this character: I have strong and complicated feelings about this character. He's a bad boy, the kind of guy I would have absolutely hated in high school but also the kinda guy who would not be boring at least. :D He's loud and obnoxious and parties like an animal, but his taste in music is impeccable (I love rock and metal and music from the 80's and I will not take criticism for that). He's got pretty eyes (that curly mullet is... well, let's say, H&M did it better <3), a nice body and a great fashion sense (denim-on-denim and leather jackets ftw) and he drives a Chevrolet Camaro from '79 like a madman. He can also be pretty funny when he wants to be, ridiculous even. So, what's not to like really? :P
All the people I ship romantically with this character: I mostly ship him with Steve, Eddie and Argyle (the last two are totally crack and fanon but who gives). I think Billy and Heather could've been hot, more than friends, maybe even friends-with-benefits if not an actual couple. Just sayin'. I've seen some great headcanons, maybe even fanart of Billy and Chrissy and I think, you know, the princess and metalhead setting could've worked with them, too.
As for my most 'problematic' Billy ship, I actually really like Billy and Hopper. There's this whole daddy kink thing involved I suppose. Lowkey my favorite crackship Ted and Billy as well. :P I'm also very supportive of Billy and El in general, I think the actors had great chemistry in s3 and I can see why some ship them, so I suppose I lowkey ship them (in spirit), too.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Though I ship Billy and Heather romantically, I also love seeing them as 'gay besties', supporting each other and protecting each other. It's one of my favorite headcanons in this fandom. Same goes for Chrissy I suppose, if not romantically involved.
Though Billy had his issues with Max, maybe even than beyond just normal 'sibling-ship', I still enjoyed their relationship a lot. It's clear that they spent a lot of time together (whether they actually hated it or not), and that they deeply cared for each other.
My unpopular opinion about this character: The majority of the fandom seems to think (or at least acts like) Billy is the worst character in the show and at least used to actively bully and harass Billy fans and shippers (his actor got his fair share of that also I hear). Though Billy was definitely not the nicest character or even particularly 'goody-good' (he was a bully and quite shitty at times actually), acting like he's worse than Dr. Brenner, for example, is bullshit. We clearly did not watch the same show.
Also, for other Billy fans... He might be your baby, but he's not an actual baby. He's not really your son or child and you don't need to 'protect' him from the haters who can't separate fiction from reality (just block them) or tw/anti Karen or any other character you don't like in favor of Billy (you're no better). Billy can also be shipped with characters other than Steve (male or female, older and younger, even self-inserts) and just because you don't like it, doesn't make the ship automatically 'problematic'. It just means there are people out there who like different things than you and you need to learn to suck it up and look away. It's for the best.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon. That Billy wouldn't have faced such gruesome death. He wasn't a good guy, but he didn't deserve to die, especially so young. I also wish we could've seen what really happened between him and Max between seasons 2 & 3 because clearly their relationship improved there. Such wasted potential.

It will forever irk me how some people blame Laena for Daemon’s “unhappiness” in Pentos. Let’s be for real here, it was COMPLETELY his fault why they were still in Pentos. I doubt Laena would have denied Daemon the idea of returning to Westeros; she was the one who wanted to go back to driftmark in the first place. Any unhappiness Daemon had was his own fault and no one but him can be blamed (maybe viserys too but that’s another thing). Everyone who is like “poor baby, he was just longing for Rhaenyra…” blah, blah, blah - just makes me sooo heated!! Laena was right there, they need to stop acting as if she was just this means to an end. I know she’s a fictional character but it still angers me to see how minimalized she is by the fandom (especially when they race-bent her and changed the important relationships in her life - that’s one of the reasons why I say that the book is the only canon canon universe, not the show). The racism this fandom has is so crystal clear, but then everyone is all “stop making it about race”, like that’s exactly what you are doing 😭 why can’t I be upset about it?? I doubt anyone would act the way they do if Laena was white and it hurts to even admit that!
No one should sympathize with daemon in ep6, he was being a shitty person and incredibly selfish, in my opinion. (I know you love him and I’m sorry to bash him, but I know you also see his faults unlike a lot of other Daemon stans, so I hope you can understand me on this). Laena was more patient and forgiving than she should have been, I would’ve liked her to call him out instead of whatever bullshit the writers decided on. Laena was not a shy or docile person, she was brave and fierce, that’s literally canon, and the writers shouldn’t have excluded that.
And don’t even get me started on how icky this deleted script makes me feel: https://www.tumblr.com/darksvster/744315340102762496/excerpts-from-the-house-of-the-dragon . “I loved him well.” But then when Rhaenyra asks Daemon if he loved Laena, THE NIGHT OF HER FUNERAL, he says “we were happy enough.” Shut the fuck up, Daemon! 🙄
I don’t personally think Laena and Daemon’s entire marriage (in the show) was an unhappy one, but it was in such poor taste that they made their scenes the way they did in show ‘canon.’ Laena did not deserve to be shown as unhappy, certainly not right before she died. I’ll never stop saying that she deserved better because she really really did. And that’s another reason why I’m writing my fix-it fanfic for her. I just want her to be happy in the end 🫠
Thank you for reading this incredibly messy rant. I hope you don’t hate me for this lmao.
That’s nothing, but cope cause these walking napkins once again forgot about chokegate.
By their own logic Daemon must have been on the verge of jumping off a cliff with Rhaenyra cause no matter how miserable he was with Laena he never laid a hand on her or abandoned her when she was giving birth to their children🙃
He’s literally always 0.2 seconds from sending Missy Anne to join Gollum. If he truly was longing for her like that he wouldn’t even think of laying a hand on her.
Lol, jokes aside, no way he was completely miserable with Laena and she definitely didn’t make him miserable. If anything she calmed his psycho ass down. The man wasn’t miserable because of her(he was just missing the walking corpse he called a brother). That was the most stable time in his life. Which isn’t saying much, but it is what is even if they don’t want to admit that.
You know what he would’ve done if he was actually miserable, wanted Missy Anne, or wanted out of his marriage? He would’ve broken out the good old divorce rock🪨
We are talking about a man who does what he wants with no impunity. He has no qualms about killing family or abusing/murdering his wives.
He could’ve easily killed Laena(especially while she was in labor), but he didn’t do that. He wanted to be with Laena(which is why he married her even though Miss Maegor was begging him to choose her back in episode 5). For all intents and purposes he was content with the means to an end.
Yeah they are all fictional, but these are people are blending real life with fiction cause it’s clear that the main reason why they keep saying this crap is because Laena was made Blackish. These Karen’s refuse to relate to Black(ish) woman on any level so they now are hyping up their titanic ship because Missy Anne is white and blonde.
Real talk, I don’t even think most of them actually care about Missy Anne as a character. She’s just a mascot cause they want to ride Daemon’s dick(no judgements cause Miss Maegor is lame, and Daemon is hot, but they need to be honest about it. I’d never ship something where my fave is being beaten upside her head by her man).
Now Daemon and Laena’s marriage was far far far from perfect in the show. He was not the best husband to her. She definitely deserved better than what he gave her, but they really are trying it when he keeps going Ike Turner on their self insert.
Yes, Laena dies and she’s a minor character, but she does have an impact on the story and on Daemon’s arc. They won’t admit that though because they actively trying to limit her impact.
(See how they keep trying to associate her girls with Daemon as Miss Maegor’s daughters cause the queen of flops gave birth to a lizard instead of a daughter “who looks like” Daemon to replace the half-breeds).
And even though they took away her fire in the show and made her into some poor helpless unloved woman(aka a stereotype), she still made an impact because if she was truly a bump in the road they would’ve stopped talking about her as soon as she offed herself.
The bar is in hell yes, but they need to recognize where they stand.
Honestly this whole discourse is once again pathetic and riddled with Casper the unfriendly ghost sociopaths being butthurt that their ship is pathetic.
They have to use headcanons to prop it up cause the books make it clear Laena was Daemon’s most beloved wife and Valyrian Karen was abandoned for Nettles(let’s not get into that cause she sends the methheads into a rage) while the show has him beating their self insert black and blue.
No one is trying to make this about race, but when you have people calling fictional characters the n-word, comparing them to monkeys, saying it’s okay to cut a Black character because there are too many Black people on the show, saying that it’s a shame Daemon doesn’t have any daughters he can relate to cause the ones he has aren’t white, and saying that it’s a determintal character trait to have Daemon sleep with Black women, well how else are we supposed to view it?
This doesn’t even cover half the demented crap they’ve said and we aren’t even getting into how they start gang stalking you, and trying to gaslight you into believing their lies, when you call them out on the bullshit.
Someone who isn’t racist would say those things. You can dislike a character or characters, but when you base your hate on racism, well congratulations! You’re a racist!
It’s so frustrating dealing with this fandom because any time you point out the obvious misogynoir you become the bad guy, the hater, the bitch, whatever. People only like you when you don’t rock the boat(aka don’t say anything about this because you’re bringing down the vibes), but how are you supposed to turn the other cheek when you see that?
The moment Laena became Black she became worthless to this fandom and the showrunners, to the point where they are only comfortable with her fitting into a stereotype.
Well now we are both ranting so I think we are even 🤣 I do love Daemon, but I love to drag him when he does wrong(I love my girls more than him so he’s in the doghouse. Book!Daemon would be ashamed of show!Daemon). Thank God fanfiction exists(and the books). Can’t wait to read yours. I’ll be updating mines this weekend)🙌🏽

TRANSLATION:
This introduction made me feel a special warmth inside, especially when I see them being so loving with each other, it's one of those things that simply make me smile 😊 What beautiful love, it makes me cry haha
And it's even more beautiful to see Heinz so dedicated to Perry, oh my god, we all deserve a Heinz in our lives.
「How did... you find me?」
Ooh, first uncomfortable question.
Well done there Heinz, it's better to give Perry time before subjecting him to stress that he's not ready to deal with yet, not to mention that everything that happened with Lawrence is already a pretty heavy topic on its own.
"Forever and a day, then,"
HE SAID IT, HE SAID IIIT HE SAID THE PHRASE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!! shrieks like a hedgehog LEX YOU ALWAYS MAKE ME CRY WOMAN TTATT AAAAAAAH!!! }
DUDE THIS MAKES THE SALVATION FIC EVEN STRONGER, BECAUSE PERRY DID FULFILL THAT PROMISE. MY GOD THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!
≫ ──── ≪•◦ ❈ ◦•≫ ──── ≪
[ He counted each precious breath ]
The fact that those two did exactly the same thing in parallel situations when they feel their lives ending at that moment, makes a part of my heart feel another nice warmth in my chest. I swear that the more I read, the more I remember Salvation and I don't know if it was intentional or not, but if not, it's a beautiful coincidence.
The truth is... It was much harder to say something about this here. Mainly because this whole situation is much more difficult to explain. Seeing Perry so terrified but at the same time assimilating step by step what's going to happen now that his secrets have come to light weighs on your soul. Because it's not just telling his cousin that he can no longer be part of the family, but on top of that, his nephews will have to lose their uncle a second time and god, seeing Ferb like this breaks my heart even more.
I WANT TO HUG HIM TIGHTLY Q_Q AAAAAHHH BABY!!! But damn, as I read more I applaud Heinz for being Perry's rock in a moment of need this time. If it wasn't because I know everything will turn out okay thanks to Forever and a Day, I swear I'd be crying worse than I am now.
Poor Perry, seeing him suffer kills you and seeing Lawrence break down because he'll lose his brother when he was so close to seeing him die weighs on me even more.
All our hearts broke, Perry... All of us.
≫ ──── ≪•◦ ❈ ◦•≫ ──── ≪
Reading this part hurt me a lot, mainly because Peter is one of my favorite characters, but I understand that everyone has their own interpretation of Peter and if the idea is to make him hated, you certainly achieved it. However, I like to believe that deep down Peter isn't so bad, he's just an idiot.
An idiot who, despite everything, did what he had to do. So at least as an agent, he never failed. At least I want to take that away from him.
I hate you Peter.
≫ ──── ≪•◦ ❈ ◦•≫ ──── ≪
You know Francis? Of all the characters I ever came to hate when I got into this part of the fandom, with you it was pretty instantaneous, I don't know if it's because maybe you're often portrayed as much stupider than you really are or if it's because your way of acting borders on cruelty.
But without a doubt, you always make me remember the exact reason why I have you as a villain in my own fic. Because not even for your stupid best agent are you capable of behaving like a human being.
You're disgusting Monogram.
Look you son of a bitch, even Peter who is an idiot with a capital letter has two grams of empathy that you lack, of course, maybe it's not in your power to change Perry's situation, but what a shitty thing on your part to act like this towards the guy who has saved your ass more than once and you don't hesitate to behave like shit even in front of who you know... SAVED YOUR FUCKING BEST AGENT, MY GOD, MY URGE TO CRY HAS TURNED INTO FUCKING DOG RAGE MY GOD starts cursing in Mexican
GO TO HELL MONOGRAM!!!!
Inhale... And Exhale
Let's go, with several points here, I think and I say I THINK knowing that I could be totally wrong but, even I felt that little disturbance in the earth when Heinz asks if they knew each other. Honestly, it does feel like there's a hint of a deeper story, so as the perfect gossip that I am, I'll wait for more updates on that drama.
And Harvey, I love you. We share the same neuron.
Reading everything else made me explode with excitement at the idea that MAJOR CORPORATE GOSSIP IS COMING HERE, DAMN!!! Because if the dirty laundry that the agency definitely wants to keep hidden was mentioned, it's because sooner or later it will be discovered AND I'LL HAPPILY WAIT FOR THAT DAY.
On the other hand, putting aside my stupid brain, I must say that... If I already loved Harvey, now I just want to kiss him after everything he did to get here, even when there was a risk of losing his job he stood firm in what was really his duty and didn't abandon one of his own, he held his head high until the end and I'm sure he'll be a great agent in the future, so I just hope to see how you'll develop the character in the future because as far as I'm concerned, he has moved up into my top 5 favorite characters in this fic.
Oh Heinz... When you have faith, you make me have it too and that hurts me, because I feel it will be horrible when faith fails and I don't know if I'm prepared for what's coming.
≫ ──── ≪•◦ ❈ ◦•≫ ──── ≪
This was the part I wasn't ready for.
It took me a while to follow it, because, of all the times I've seen Perry reveal his secrets, this is the one that has made me cry the most, because here there's no magical answer for everything, no incredibly convenient solution, there's nothing.
Just the inevitable farewell to a part that will die with them, a new perspective of the other and a relationship that can never be. Because as Perry said, it wasn't fair that when he finally could give them the answers he so longed to give, they were taken away from him, it wasn't fair to see someone important to him die, because... how many people, lives or loves would he have to lose for the world to be satisfied? How much more would he have to give of himself for a better world? Damn, I felt a part of my heart break with Perry's and if I ever felt any sympathy for the agency, now it has certainly died completely for me.
Forever and a Day is being my consolation now Lex, IT'S THE ONE THAT REMINDS ME NOT TO LOSE MY SANITY HERE TT_TT DAMN IT, I CAN'T HANDLE THIS, I CAN'T STAND IT AAAAAH!!!!
≫ ──── ≪•◦ ❈ ◦•≫ ──── ≪
I swear for a moment I thought Monogram had done something good when I saw that the message had been sent from Francis's account, but now I love how you completely changed the theory that formed in my head to openly suspect Monogram, I feel like the conspiracy nut who starts suspecting everyone at the slightest sign.
AND I LOVE IT.
On the other hand, I have a theory that I already know who Sig and N are, but I won't say anything for now because I want to be sure, however, this certainly calls for a next part AND I'LL WAIT FOR IT WITH MUCH LOVE!!!
≫ ──── ≪•◦ ❈ ◦•≫ ──── ≪
The pure and hard satisfaction of seeing Monogram lose his smile gave me a thousand years of life, but seeing Heinz being a little bully in front of Monogram makes me want to scream with pure unattainable emotion.
I DON'T KNOW WHO THE HELL GENERAL GENDERLECT IS BUT I LOVE HIM.
And you know what's the best thing about all this? That no matter how angry he gets, how much he denies it and even tries to threaten, he can't do anything to change the situation, gosh, this makes up for all the tears I've shed in this chapter.
And as I suspected, Heinz was right to have faith. AND AS LONG AS HE HAS IT, I'LL HAVE IT TOO.
Because as long as they exist, I'll always believe in love.
.....
I discovered this story when you were on chapter 9, in one of the worst moments of my life. I was going through a divorce that had taken a part of me that I'm still trying to recover to this day, I still remember it was three in the morning, when I came across your story, crying because I didn't know why despite having tried to be a good wife I hadn't managed to have my happy ending.
And then your Perry came along and reminded me of the kind of love I want and hope to deserve someday, you reminded me of all the times I fought, cried, screamed in rage when things didn't go the way I wanted and you gave me hope that you can always have a good ending even if it might take a long time to come. Proselytization grew with me, it accompanied me in every part of my recovery journey and gave me the strength to keep going until today. And if it wasn't for this story, maybe I wouldn't be here, writing a fanfic, much less would I have met the lovely people who are precious friends to me today.
You marked a before and after in my life and I'll never have enough days to thank you for this. You are the standard of what I want to be someday, you are the writer who reminds me to never give up and always strive to do better every day, thank you for giving us this wonderful story Lex. Thank you for writing, thank you for existing, thank you for being you.
And I sincerely hope that my life never ends, so I can keep reading you.
#I'm weeping over here#this is the most beautiful comment I've ever seen#thank you from the bottom of my fucking heart asijodfoagojid#╽✒️ ⸻ 【reviews】

Hi, just dropping in to say I've really enjoyed reading all your thoughts on s2. Luna's ( @vhagar-balerion-meraxes ) too in this ask (link) but I didn't want to invade in that one, I feared I'd go on a full rant under your post :'). Just know I really appreciate you both and I'm happy to hear not everyone has abandoned all our Green babies due to *cough* writing choices that've been made. ❤ Life is insanity at the moment so I really only have the energy to bookmark things by liking them, but I'm still around and happy to hear there are people in my tiny tumblr circle who share my frustrations. The 2nd season so far has been so much more disappointing than I ever dared to fear, but it's comforting to know that at least I'm not alone with these feelings. I'm honestly losing the will to watch the show at this point, I saw most of ep. 5 from gifs long before watching the actual thing. It baffles me how s2 is somehow able to be too fast paced and too slow simultaniously. Like, they skip so many interesting and important character moments and rush through the ones they do add and then we go into snail pace and somehow manage to make a story about dragon family civil war boring (HOW??! ;_;). I came into s2 knowing that the character arcs for most of these characters are going to be negative ones, that they'd slowly become the worst versions of themselves due to all the trauma and war, but the way it's done, they way the show rushes things and loses so much of the nuance, hurts to watch, and again, some of the choices just make me want to claw my eyes out. S1 was far from perfect, but the one thing it did right was it made me care about these characters. S2 seems to be hell bent on making me hate them and is doing it so clumsily that I'd be laughing if the levels of bad writing at times didn't make me want to cry. I've literally stopped watching the show as a story and mainly just engage with it with my writer-editor brain making notes of all the things I can use as examples of how-not-to-do-the-thing later. Which is heart breaking, because I wanted to like it. And seeing how much the cast really genuinely care for their characters, they're doing their damnest but the story is failing them so badly… it's just making me very very sad.
Hi, Liinu!
Thank you for dropping in😊
I share your disappointment and your heartbreak completely. The characters we have come to love and cherish deserved so much more and so much better than what they got.
And the problem is not, indeed, merely in them doing morally questionable or even outright evil things - it's about the clumsiness of the writing and the disrespect with which the characters and the actors are being treated.
For me season 2 has been a disappointment right from the start. I was trying to hold on to hope - but after episode 4 finally gave up on it as on an actual story and decided to watch the rest of it only for the acting and for the possibility to get some nice separate scenes. So you have my complete undestanding here as well.
But at least we, the fandom members who did not fall into the pit of hatred, have each other - just as the HotD actors. Many of them said that the best part of working on this project was the people they were doing it with, and that's really important. Shitty shows end but the friendship lives on:)

so with the sudden realization the kuro fandom is having that everyone kind of sucks in this series-
i decided to make a tier list of who sucks the most and who sucks the least.
the tiers are...!
(technically 1st tier but ehh) - "we barely know these ones so shrug"
i cant rank these ones!! all they did was exist and we barely know them, let alone if they have a PERSONALITY or WAR CRIMES (most importantly)
yes this is about cloudia
1st tier - "you suck the least!! congratz"
this tier is just what it says on the tin. no body counts or any other horrible crime. but they probably still kind of suck somehow.
2nd tier - "you sucked but got better"
characters that were morally questionable but got their shit together. be like the 2nd tier.
3rd tier - "kinda sucks but not as bad as everyone else"
maybe one or two bodies piled up but nothing too horrible. it's a low bar but!
4th tier - "you suck but you have somewhat of an excuse"
characters who do shitty things but have a pretty damn good reason
5th tier - "just sucks"
body count over 3 and has done some shitty and/or irredeemable things
6th tier - "very much sucks"
HUGE body count and/or deserves to be on some kind of list
7th tier - "ok dickhead. it's not a competition"
worst of the worst.
people i wished i could rank lower -
richard (the kid with the ugly haircut) - its not a crime or morally questionable to be boring but god i wish it was
vincent phantomhive - i dont know. ive always gotten bad vibes from him but im not tiktok, i cant base someone's crimes off of vibes.
people i wished i could rank higher -
baldroy - putting him low hurt but man is sexist and has probably has killed people. curse my own rules.
choices im defending -
most of the circus characters being really low - they. they murdered children. yes wah wah sad backstory but those kids ain't coming back just because they had a tragic backstory.
sebastian not being in the lowest tier -
okay so. he does very much suck. but putting him in the same tier as the former head trancy? that just feels like comparing a moldy pear to a mutated moldy pear that is radioactive and eats babies. both are bad but one is objectively worse.
viscount druitt -
THIS MAN DOES NOT DESERVE ALL THE DEFENDERS HE GETS?? i dont know if it's as bad as it is on here as it is in different fandom spaces but this dude SUCKS. he deserves the shit sebastian gets more than sebastian does and that's saying A LOT.
did i say anything wrong? am i completely right? maybe!
make your own, cowards.
#making this was hard bc i have the memory of a dead fly#also im exhausted <3#id love to see reactions or people's own reactions to these#mind u i am biased but so is everyone so waugh#black butler#kuroshitsuji#tier list#tier maker#sebastian michaelis#ciel phamtonhive#im not tagging everyone LOL

Hey Poorni, I mostly just lurk here but sometimes check in with your account and am always blown away by how quickly and drastically you change your mind on so many people and ships! Like on a Wednesday you'll post several times about a pair being a notp and by Thursday you're praising them as an otp and reblogging them constantly and then by Friday or Saturday you're disliking them again lol. For example, you've gone from going on about how much you hate Neia to suddenly calling them an OTP lol. A few weeks ago you didn't like Zaya at all and now they're like your biggest OTP ever. You liked Kitty and then hated her more than anyone I'd ever seen and then will swing back to liking her. And so on. We all change our minds about some ships and characters, and it's great to have an open mind. I'm just curious what causes you to go from hate to love to hate to love again on so many characters and ships so quickly---is it based on rewatches, reading other people's metas, Or do you just kind of wake up feeling totally different than you did the day before? You can ignore if you want to, I'm just always into learning about what makes fans tick, and you changing your opinions so frequently interests me!
First of all, I love long asks so ty for sending this haha!
Secondly, I wouldn't exactly saying that my love for characters and ships change day by day. It's actually the opposite most of the time where it's very drastic.
Like with Kitty, as a kid I liked her but then I saw a few threads on her and I was like 'ok she is kind of annoying when I think about it'. Then rewatching at like 16-17 (i think 17 tbh), she's very irritating and I feel like she's glorified WAY too much (especially in t7s). So then I started having more complex feelings but then after a few more discussions with my friend Sunshine and rewatches, Kitty is actually pretty fucking annoying. She babies Eric and literally never sees him as an adult, slut shames Donna for having sex with Eric and seems to think Donna "corrupts" him. And don't even get me started on how shitty she treats Laurie. I know Laurie is far from perfect, but no one deserves to have to hear their own mother say 'i love you because I have to' and 'Rosemary made a better baby than me'.
It sounds like I'm overreacting but honestly idc. Kitty is not this sweet little good cop to Red's bad cop and she sure as hell didn't have any "character assassination" like Jackie, Kelso, and even Eric did in T9S.
With Zaya, I really loved them as a kid but then hated them because of the shit Zig would pull on Maya. When I did come back to the fandom for good, I had moreso complicated feelings where they're pretty toxic but they can be good together and I'm glad they're endgame. And then I started looking at more Zaya stuff (mostly from Ashton haha) doing rewatches, which made me go back to loving them full force. I still have love for Matlingsworth, Camaya, Zori, and find Zesme interesting at times, but I love Zaya a lot too and I'm glad they're endgame.
As for Neia, I don't think I had much of an opinion on my first watch. I might've been annoyed by them. But I did prefer Jeia over everything. And when I got to Tumblr and did more rewatches, read fics and all that, I was really just done with Neia. My main issue with them has always been how they fucked over Nikki and don't even get me started on how ooc Gwen's advice to Leia was on handling that shit. Plus I didn't see any substance with them aside from having the same wants. Then I ended up being moreso fascinated by the idea of Neia crashing and burning, leading to a Jeia/Geia endgame.
There was a short period where I really wanted to be more open minded with Neia, so I tried looking at the more shippy stuff but I just couldn't do it haha. But eventually I tried again, hence me shipping them now.
Don't get me wrong, my issues with canon Neia are still there. Especially the substance parts, but I personally blame that on the writing more. For all Lindsey's claims of loving Neia, she sure doesn't act like she loves them. Until the 9th episode, they didn't have any alone time. Which, by a writing person, doesn't make sense because Leia is canonically best friends with Nate's sister AND in the dame friend groupl. Not to mention, Leia dated Nate's best friend, yet they don't interact one on one till the NINTH episode? Not even like them accidentally bumping into each other. Like come on!
Short answer: Metas, rewatches, (rarely) discussions, etc.

Regardless of Natsu's words whether it's "shitty brother", "stupid brother", or "sorry excuse of a brother", I don't know how Dabi stan had the gall to call Natsu mean 😡for A SIMPLE VERBAL OUTBURST IN A STRESSFUL SITUATION to their poor Dabi meow meow 🥹while any of that words are nothing compared to "What a shame Natsu didn't die because then Endeavor would have suffered more"
Like, the audacity, the shamelessness, I can't... Natsu is a way better person than me because I regularly call my older brother worse things for less, AND THAT'S JUST HOW SIBLINGS WORK (except for sending criminal for the sake of spite agenda tho, that's just Dabi being A RUTHLESS VILLAIN instead of fandom's poor meow meow)
Exactly!!
Natsu can cuss Touya out with any angry words he wants and he'd still be completely justified, since 1) Touya has tried to murder him twice and laughed about it, and 2) Natsu never did anything to deserve it.
Hell, he'd be completely justified in cutting all ties with Touya after this shit.
But Natsu had enough decency to feel guilty for Touya, even though he was a child and couldn't be responsible for his older brother. He cared enough about Touya to still want to save him despite him being a ruthless criminal. But because he didn't baby his adult brother while that brother was trying to murder him then he's a big selfish meanie???
I used to criticize Natsu for not managing his anger around Enji in a healthy way, but I never once thought that his anger was not justified or that he shouldn't express it. How the hell can these morons claim he was way out of line in his anger at that moment?? or that has no right to be angry at all??
Imagine claiming to stan Touya because he's a good representation of abuse victims who need to lash out even in ugly ways, but when another abuse victim lashes out in a completely normal way you bash and shame them. They don't care about abuse victims. They just care about one abuse victim because they kin him, and that's why they have no problem shitting on other abuse victims.

warning for: "bad wording", "unasked opinion", "another coward hiding behind anon mask"
I think you should stop looking for an ideology/side to pick and consider trying to pick your own side, attempt learning to become your own person instead—give up on fitting into any cult anything? Honestly, why don't you try to build your own thing? You seem capable of building so much of theories, finding so much of little details not many could ever notice—why not use this skill to help yourself? I get it. Many humans do not like making efforts. I'm one of them. Sometimes becoming your own person = doing a lot of efforts, but it is not a hard work it is just making efforts, day by day, baby steps, it is possible, it is valid—even if right now it might seem as "not very likely" or "hopeless" or "meaningless" in your personal case. I do not judge you. I'm trying to tell you that creating your own identity, a personality is possible. Speaking from a lil anon experience, so far I haven't found any other solution except trying to learn how to rebuild yourself into yourself from a scratch and "broken remains". You can't get rid of every single shitty influence but you can take control of it, its traces and make something of your own. You can do anything, if you want...but you don't want it, do you? I do not know you (and you don't know me), all I got is an opinion to make out of your post, I bet it's mostly wrong, I should have stayed silent, heh. I think you'll be less miserable if you stop running away from yourself by seeking yourself in people, groups and fandoms. And I do not mean it in way like "quit social media they are evil they are brainwashing you into becoming something you are not", if anything I do not believe in "good" and "evil" nor in "black and white", because this life has much more of colors and hues in the store to offer. "Balancing it out" is what I was trying to tell. Please try to help yourself. I think you deserve to live and have good things in your life. My opinion matters very little because I'm just another coward, but I mean it.
Hey, this is actually a very good message. It took me some time to get to it because currently I genuinely am better off sinking in my special interest and drawing than tackle anything personal. But this is a good advice, especially for someone who had to judge my character off very limited information. (or maybe I am oversharing way more than I think I do...?)
The thing is... I DO have beliefs and ideals! It is aggressively affirming them where I fail at. Like you pointed out, I can see a lot of things no one else does and that's how I get into every character's head. But it is similar with people. Very often I will see where person is coming from, what events and information and trends made them come to this conclusion, what is their motivation, and like... You see, this is normally a deal-breaker for me. Just because I can understand why person thinks this way, see the logic and often even a valid fundament, this person passes for me - especially if I can not properly object them with logic and knowledge. I am not the type to have no logical counter-arguements and still pull the 'L + you are wrong + you are a bitch + bye' thing, because coming from emotions is not for me. For this same reason I often get trapped in abusive relationship - because when person is convincing and I have no counter-arguements for why I should not be treated this way besides crying and insulting... well, I can be convinced of deserving anything. Just ask my EX boyfriend hahaha (he healed and changed, don't worry).
This is the loop of autism. Not just any autism, but like, very pure form of it. The one that consistently pisses the allistics off enough to call us "robots" or "psychopaths". We do not 'just' understand things and not 'just' believe in things - we only do or think something if there is a reason. But at the same time, we won't "just know" a lot of things others do. There are only two things you can do - either 1) assume some unbreakable "rules" how society and people function and what is right and wrong end up being a rigid prick that judges everyone through the same lence and could never see things working unlike these "rules" or 2) say fuck it and use your own brain to navigate in the world, but you will constantly get lost. I think the latter is the lesser evil, because the former not only makes it more likely to get used as ideological soldier, but also will fuck over people that act and speak coming from different reasoning.
And you are right. I SHOULD make my own rules - not listen to some arrogant assholes claiming to be for peace and equality but We Know, and not listen to some conservatives who just can't accept that every generation will be different; but also not wander so aimlessly. I have a friend who is very similarly fucked up to me: hard autism, borderline personality disorder, burdening level of insightful, all that. And even he is self-sufficient enough to say 'Yes I see where you are coming from in your beliefs, but fuck you, that's a way of an idiot'. Another friend who has the exact same type of autist thinking as me ended up doing just what I mentioned - they set up the rules of what he believes in and refuses to budge on them no matter the stakes, even if they tend to hurt people because not even appealing to their compassion could make them budge. Like!!! you have to be literally dying for them to go easier, but even then they'll pick their principles back up and return to the discussion when you recovered.
Granted, recently I've been becoming more solid. Like recently I've blocked someone because they were using slurs in an arguement, and even before that I blocked someone I never even talked with because they were a tad too nationalist against Russians (all of them). It is just... not really like me? I tend to not mind free speech, but for some reason I've started to get more angry at such things? It is also the uh... Barb1e movie. Yeah don't laugh, trust me plenty of people ended up in existential crisis because of it. But it was something that followed when someone whose reasoning I was able to understand prior pulled the 'This movie hates men' when the movie gave men positive message that men should aspire to be self-sufficient and be themselves instead of stressing to fit into social expectations. This sort of (mis)interpretation just felt way too similar to """logic""" a certain asshole had calling me lesbophobic when I said to stop locking lesbians in stereotypes (I know you're lurking here, lil shit). It feels very obvious that anyone can be an idiot and it is not just privilege of the "woke SJWs" side but just a flaw of any human that makes their politics their personality, but sometimes it takes a certain event to make you truly SEE something, you know?
And in the end, by learning to assert my beliefs, by learning to be consistent and not just 'have' them, I will be playing this game too, no? ...somewhat. Currently I am more like Rom - I see everything but this is the reason I can't do shit. I want to be more like Djura, who knows what he thinks and will protect it, and you have to actually agree to his terms to not get shot by him! Both of these characters are 'open' and will work with people's autonomy: Rom by her barrier being penetrable if you have enough Insight, so you CAN learn horrors of the universe but only if you are looking for them so people that don't want that shit are spared, and Djura by not denying the hunt altogether but insisting that beasts that can't harm people are spared, as he tells us to go and be useful where we will be. But Djura has something Rom no longer does - personality! For me 'seeing where they come from' is a pass to forgive... literally everything? It can be a great power that will let me find what others can't and make friends no one else could, but it can also be a dangerous mindset that will trap me in abusive relationship or make me cause damage. The one thing Rom is not showing even to 99 Insight people is how there is a madman slowly destroying humanity with his ritual, isn't it so? Haha, yeah, you pointed out that I am very well-versed in analyzing fiction, but this shit legit helps me to navigate. I've been solving many conflicts and questions via "omg they're just like those characters for real". Autists interact with the world vicariously through fiction! My close friends also developed a habit of helping me by comparing the situation with something that happened in our Bloodb0rne headcanons. I am dead serious. x)
In the end, I am incapable of being ideological soldier, nor I can obey the rules based on "I am [demographic] and you are not so do what I say or you are a danger for our whole kind" (left) or "I am older/more educated and you don't know shit in life and if you don't agree with me you are just another woke zombie" (right). Of course I can't have a 'covenant' - I am an individualist! An individualist that can't assert their individuality, apparently. But there is a difference between wandering aimlessly or walking your own way..
______________________
Again, thank you for this ask.. You really should not be so hard on yourself - anons are only bad and cowardly if it is a prick being mean. Otherwise they're fine! And it was important for me to think about, too... I was not even really THINKING about how I have friends with similar thinking as me but they adapted and can be consistent and assertive. They can disagree very harshly, to the point of creating awkwardness between us until I either change my mind or admit that I have nothing to argue, and that's not emotional manipulation, but standing up.
#personal#mental health#ask replies#yeah like you said it might take eternity...#i DO feel like i am not capable of doing so much work you are right#like this is a change of character so fundamental that it won't be me anymore#because my self-confidence and wish to assert myself got broken VERY early since childhood#very consistently by a close family member for so many years#it is just hard to believe i can be fixed when 'being broken' is how i was assembled to BEGIN with#but maybe years later i'll speak differently#it is also hard to aspire to something when world is ending (wars natural disasters collapsing economics... all that)#I have decided to not make any long-term goals because i feel like humanity got only a decade left to exist at BEST

Salty fandom asks: 1, 5, 9, 14 (for any fandom), 23?
I'm a one fandom person so this is going to be about Oxventure. It also turned into such a rant, I'm so sorry but also that's probably the point of this ask game.
1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?
Barnaby/Lilith. Don't understand it at all. Why are you burdening a fantastic, devoted and intelligent woman with an absolute trainwreck? Lilith doesn't deserve this! Barnaby is such a fuckhead and truly does not get better throughout the series (he gets more capable, but is almost the exact same level of shitty at the end), and I think Lilith deserves better.
5. Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?
[Looks sideways at demonpirate].
Okay, I do still like it, kind of, but it's just everywhere and I don't think it's interesting enough to justify that. There are so many options and I don't understand sticking to just one.
9. Most disliked character(s)? Why?
Recently? Dob. I don't like the guilt arc. Whenever it was featured it really ground the episode to a halt (Hunter Pressure and early Orbpocalypse being good examples of this) and it felt like such a clunky decision from Luke rather than naturalistic character development.
Also, the Katie arc was funny, but I cannot stand and have never enjoyed the Liliana nonsense. It wrecks any tension/suspense which, given that this is primarily a comedy, would be fine if it was funny, but I don't think it is. It's especially annoying when you combine with Dob's guilt arc, because he was just getting all uptight about murder before forgetting that and loving a full supervillain!
I think we're quick to make excuses for the show because it's "just a comedy" but a) lots of comedy becomes very heartfelt and complex (Dimension 20 anyone?), and b) they are clearly putting in more serious elements and we are allowed to critique those. I really like the show but I haven't been keeping up with the latest season after the start of episode 2, because Liliana showed up and it completely killed my interest.
The Oxventure is, and always has been, funny, but it used to have heart as well. I think there's less of that than there used to be.
14. Unpopular opinion about your fandom?
I don't think I have one, it's too small. Sometimes I feel like headcannons are a little stereotypical, but that's just fandom baby! It's not hurting anyone. Also put read-mores on long posts please. Or at least tag long post.
23. Unpopular character you love?
I don't think that there are unpopular Oxventure characters, I've seen pretty balanced spreads across the whole fandom. In terms of other stuff i.e. my beloved Monster Prom series, my favourite characters are Aaravi, Joy, then Valerie, which, from a cursory search, doesn't seem to be the most popular opinion.
#Uh oh Rian has opinions about the Oxventure#I've been watching this show since the very beginning okay I get to say that it's bad sometimes#Had to do a quick move to Monster Prom because I love it even if I have zero interest in the fandom#messing around with asks#oxventure watching#long post

"In a modern au Anthony's nudes would get leaked and Sienna would be the one to do it out of spite" yep safe to say I'm never going into the Bridgerton tag on here again. Kate is obviously Anthony's true love but god why do people feel the need to vilify Sienna for simply existing especially in modern aus? Especially when she was never the villain in the first place. People really say "I dislike this female character and how she treated my baby male character so I'm going to have her do revenge porn and make her the villain in my fic!" with their whole chests. Sienna deserves so much better than that and better than her socalled fans who only pretend to care about her because they don't like that Anthony didn't end up with a white woman. Kate deserves far more respect in general from this fandom.
someone wrote that?! jesus this fandom is getting so unhinged with their misogyny 💀
i honestly don't get where all the siena hate is coming from. or the need to compare her with kate?
i get hating on racist women who ship anthony with siena bc they can't stand him not ending up with a white woman (as you said it's an issue and i 100% agree that siena deserves better than these “fans” who just see her as a white self insert).
but why would you hate on the character? she was literally never kate’s competition. she was out of the picture before kathony even met. how the hell is she the bad guy in any way?
it's jus recycling tired tropes of women fighting over a man as if he's some great prize to begin with. not to mention the madonna-whore situation and framing marriage to a man as the ultimate “win” a woman can score over another.
truth is both siena and kate were treated like crap by anthony! yes, kate too, idc how many excuses his stans come up with he's got a lot of grovelling to do for what he put her through. he had plenty of chances to drop his pursuit of edwina and doubled out on it instead, knowing there was something between him and kate.
the constant coddling of anthony to shield him from any criticism at the expense of women in his life is exhausting. like, there's zero acknowledgment of the privilege anthony had over both of them, as if his trauma is an excuse for misogyny and shitty behaviour.

Um alright I will try to be as respectfull as I can but you left stuff out that makes a huge difference
-snape was racist and called lily a slur um the context ?he was being stripped hanging upside down literally in front of the whole school to see because marauders were bored lily intervened and tried to "talk" them out of it ngl she almost smiled what's funny about sexual assault??also racist for how long?sure he was shitty in his teens wanting the approval of his wannabe deatheater friends But in his later years he was devoted to the cause evidence the ex headmaster potrait thing in book 7
You are oh so worried and sympathetic to Neville for getting bullied but that's how all the teachers literally were to him (mcgonegal in book 3**)but when it's SNIVELLUS bullying is funny?
-invented a curse for enemies for self defense*** the marauders had done nothing but gang up on him since day 1 please don't come at me calling 4 on 1 a rivalry when the book describes Sirius looking at him like a "prey" so deserved honestly
-later he became a death eater or rather was brainwashed into becoming one because that's the only place they appreciated his skills and accepted him, that's my analysis I can elaborate but anyway he was a spy for FAR FAR FAR LONGER than he was a death eater and people conveniently leave that out how NICE
-about the begged voldy to save only lily be fr the prophecy child was meant to be voldemort's downfall do you expect him to beg for the very reason voldemort's after the family ? wouldn't make any difference at all
-im so tired that the fandom doesn't get the concept of a mean teacher and exaggerate it only when it's Snape ,he was strict hard on them and his class was certainly far ahead on the curriculum he was a competent teacher a bit harsh but what's your theory about mcgonegal being hermiones boggart?
For the pet part i will quote this person because they made a fucking valid point that seems to fly over peoples heads "Snape didn't poison Trevor - and even if he did:
That's the purpose of animals being at Hogwarts. They use their animals as test subjects for spells, charms, transfiguration - probably potions too, though Trevor shouldn't have been in the class that day.
Neville fucked up his potion, as he always does, so Snape was like:
'I'm going to give it to the toad you shouldn't have brought to class - so you better fix it. You have a time limit. This is a test.'
The potion was fixed - but by Hermione. It turned Trevor into a tadpole. Snape had the antidotes in his pockets and restored Trevor immediately - irritated that Neville needed Hermione's help."
-Sectumseprad georges ear yes WHILE HE WAS SAVING LUPINS LIFE?read the books carefully guys honestly
-outed Remus as a werewolf completely deserved he was careless with his furry little problem* a literal hazard to students while Snape worked tirelessly to make him wolfsbane throughout the year
Honestly it's funny how you downplay switching sides as if it's not that big of a deal literally the reason they managed to win the war not because of maraudes not because of James becoming an animagus which is so nice and kind (not downplaying it that's a good thing)but severus devoting himself to double crossing the most feared wizard is meh ?
Again James saved Snape because Sirius sent him there literally ultimately saving Sirius from being a Murderer?that's the bare minimum not killing a guy you relentlessly bully
Saying snapes good are far far less than James is wow?no he died at 21 lol and giving his life for his own son* again that's what he's supposed to do Snape wasn't compelled to save his bullys son thruout 7 years .james wasn't much of a keypart in winning the war aside from making a prophecy baby.
Sorry if ur offended but that's literally the books thank you for coming to my bitchtalk severus Snape 🔛🔝(creds to fellow Tumblr I quoted in the pet part)
“but james potter was a bully””he bullied snape!!!” ok? someone had to do it.
🙄
~Here’s a list of good and shitty things Snape did canonically:
Bad:
•Snape was a blood supremacist who called lily a slur.
•invented a curse for enemies (marauders)
I don’t think a good person would make up a curse which mutilates someone terribly. That too, during his time in Hogwarts.
•oh yeah later on he became a death eater 😋 (the main goal of the death eaters wasto eliminate all muggle-borns in the wizarding world and establish voldemort as its ruler)(magical nazis basically).
Plus when voldy was going to kill lily, Snape was like yk what you can kill the husband and the INFANT just don’t hurt my lily flower teehee like okay james bullied him so him not caring about james made sense but harry was a child bro
•BULLIED CHILDREN DURING HIS TIME AS A PROFESSOR????? he was literally neville’s bogart ffs and not because “some teachers are just scary okay Neville was afraid of almost everything!!!” but because Snape bullied neville on a daily basis plus threatened to kill his pet after a failed potion thingy. plus he made fun hermione’s physical appearance (when draco made her teeth all big and Snape was like hah it’s the same there’s no difference) and he bullied for BEING GOOD AT ACADEMICS LIKE 😭😭😭???? He bullied almost everyone in Hogwarts I just know it.
•sectumsempra’d George’s year off.
•tried to out Remus Lupin as a werewolf for NO reason other than his childish misdemeanour.
Good:
•called Sirius and Remus an old married couple.
•saves Katie bell from a cursed necklace
•saves draco malfoy from a terrible curse that could’ve killed him by the counter charm “vulnera saneteur”
can someone guess which curse Snape saved draco from??? You’re right! It was sectumsempra!
•switched sides or smth
~Here’s a list of good and shitty things james did canonically:
Bad:
•called Snape snivellus (was funny ngl)
•bully snape
Good:
•turned into an illegal animagus at the age of 15 so his werewolf friend (Remus) has company during his transformations.
•took sirius black in after he ran away from an abusive hoursehold.
•SAVED FUCKING SNAPE FROM REMUS IN HIS WEREWOLF FORM AFTER SIRIUS SENT HIM THERE.
JAMES SAVED SNAPE.
•literally died trying to stall Voldemort so Lily and Harry have some time to escape or just live in general.
So my point is canon james was a bit of an asshole but he still did way more good deeds than Snape even though Snape was in all the seven books like one of the good things he did was literally the consequences of his own actions (healing draco).
All of this is canon btw. NONE of it is fanon.
sincerely keep my wife’s name out of your fucking mouth he did what should have been done.
cutie
#james potter#remus lupin#sirius black#the marauders#severus snape#pro Snape#snape defense#severus should have clicked a selfue with james dead body while he was at it my mans not petty enough#he is an arsehole ngl but the one sided opinions piss me off#not proofread lootta mistakes#stop glorifying the marauders#harry potter#harry potter critical

your post about walter jr supporting his parents and always showing so much kindness and maturity to them is literally the ONLY post that matters. that child deserved so so so much better and i love to see him acknowledged
Thank you friendo while I have you here can we also talk about how Walt destroys his life because of a shitty intersection of toxic masculinity + ableism (because what he’s trying to avoid, deep down, is that image of his dying father— sick. weak. feminized to Walt in his frailness) and this attitude also affects how he treats Flynn???
Look how Flynn is introduced in the pilot script:
His parents “treat him as if he were able-bodied, which is how he wants it.” It’s true— and at first glance, this is a good thing. Flynn doesn’t want to be babied, he doesn’t want to be offered help at every turn in situations where he knows he can be independent. His parents provide him with a feeling of normalcy, by not over-emphasizing or dramatizing his cerebral palsy. Sometimes he will need help or accommodation, and they provide it for him, but often he won’t, and they won’t mention it. This is the rhythm they have all found, and Flynn likes it that way.
But this approach is deeply flawed. Rather than normalizing Flynn’s disability (which I think is the surface level intention), it erases it, ignores it, attempts to hide it from view and discussion. Which is unsurprisingly pretty similar to how Walt relates to his cancer + treatment. He wants to do everything alone— he banishes Skyler from his chemo sessions, and he hides himself away when he’s having chemo side effects, often locking himself in the bathroom. Walt shapes his life around his cancer in some ways (that whole cooking meth thing), but at the same time, he works hard to hide his illness, ashamed of that feminizing weakness he thinks it gives him.
And what effect does this attitude have on Flynn? Walt’s shame around illness, weakness, and disability— his idea that it’s okay to be sick or disabled, as long as you don’t talk about it? Of course, it makes Flynn feel his father is ashamed of him. And it instills that same reflexive draw towards toxic masculinity in him (think about how he idolizes Hank!).
Consider the scene where Walt is teaching Flynn how to drive (which I recently saw on my rewatch). Where Flynn wants to drive with two feet, and Walt insists he use just one, because he has to get it “right.” He has to be able to drive the same as everyone else, no matter how unintuitive that may be to his body. This conversation obviously makes Flynn feel embarrassed and ashamed. And when Flynn tries to drive the “right” way? He crashes.
This scene hits so hard for me because it’s a very clear case where the method of driving that would work best for Flynn is so clearly viable— there’s really no reason not to let him drive in the way that’s most intuitive and comfortable for him. If Walt were truly normalizing Flynn’s disability, he would let him drive that way with no comment. But that was never Walt’s real attitude towards Flynn’s cerebral palsy. Walt is treating him like he’s able bodied— he’s trying to erase Flynn’s disability. And when that attitude hits the road, it literally crashes. With the added bonus of making Flynn feel like it’s his fault for not having a body that works the “right” way.
Idk exactly where I’m going with this. Mostly wanted to say Justice For Flynn!!! And remark on what an interesting character he is. I think he’s super neglected in fandom discourse— I’m thinking a lot rn (if you couldn’t tell haha) about how he serves as a foil for Walt in terms of Walt’s attitudes about gender and bodies and power and all that jazz. As a (mostly) able-bodied person myself I would love to hear more on this topic from any disabled folks who wanted to speak on it!
#breaking bad#brba rewatch#Flynn white#I’ve decided to start calling him Flynn if you didn’t notice haha#gotta respect chosen names ya know?#i want to think more about what Flynn says in Gray Matter about this#he says something like you’re afraid of a little cancer?? after all I’ve been through??#something something Walt’s attitudes about his cancer reveal how to Flynn his true attitudes about his son’s disability#anyways everybody keep up the Flynn discourse!#asks#brba meta#flynn rights rewatch

I'm pretty new to the sw tumblr fandom, would you mind telling me what the pro/anti jedi "discourse" is about? absolutely understand if you don't have the time for that of course haha
Hi! Oh, I’ve tried like five separate times to write a short summary of What Jedi Discourse Is About, but it’s hard for me to put into a nutshell, because I really want to try to be fair and objective, but also I have experienced a lot of shit in this fandom and I’ve lost a lot of patience for it. (This is not aimed at you! This message was totally fine, I’m just still disgusted with some people’s behaviors towards other fans..) As short as I can make it: While people run the gamut from “the Jedi were monsters and a cult and they hated Anakin and it was their fault he fell and Order 66 was totally deserved” to “well, the Jedi were pretty awful, but the babies didn’t deserve to be murdered, I guess” to “the Jedi did some things wrong and some things right” to “the Jedi were right and their decisions were understandable because there just weren’t any good choices”, and many people are incredibly insufferable about it along the way, whether anti-, neutral-, or pro-, as all subsections of fandom are, and there is a very common tendency for pro-Jedi fans to get bombarded with people trying to argue with them. (There was a time when I literally could not make one single post about the Jedi without someone trying to tell me how wrong I was. This is why my anon is off and why I block when people are only here to argue. Things are calmer now, but sometimes people still get a bug up their ass and won’t leave us alone--sometimes for literally A YEAR they’ll keep badgering someone.) The discourse is usually centered around the definition of “attachment”, whether or not the Jedi were a cult, the idea that the Jedi suppress emotions, the Jedi were baby thieves, the Jedi were totally cool with slavery, the Jedi were corrupt and stagnant and bad for being drafted into the war, the Jedi were super mean to Anakin and it’s their fault he fell, the Jedi weren’t blood families so they don’t really count as family, the Jedi kiiiiiiinda deserved their own genocide because they weren’t nice enough, etc. There are plenty of people who are chill about their Jedi criticisms and I usually get along pretty well with them (babes, this post isn’t about you guys, I promise), but there are a LOT of people whose behavior is fucking atrocious towards pro-Jedi fans and that has kind of poisoned the water between us in a lot of ways, so when we’re talking about the shitty behavior in fandom, it’s about the people who just will not leave us alone or who constantly feel the need to come yell at us on our posts. Basically, it’s about a lot of different issues (I feel like if I listed them all, it’d just be starting things up again), usually centered on whether or not the Jedi were emotionally healthy, whether or not they were corrupt for fighting in the war, and whether or not they were responsible for Anakin’s choices. Pro-Jedi fans feel that Lucas’ commentary is very “the Jedi are right about the Force and they really didn’t have any better options about joining the war and Anakin’s fall is his own fucking fault” and that a lot of criticisms the Jedi get are bad faith, unsupported by the actual source material, or outright racist because of their Buddhist influences and that much of what gets criticized is those Buddhist origins. But it’s a complex, many-tentacled issue, so that’s the best overview I can give, as well as, you know, I am pro-Jedi so my experiences are from the pro-Jedi side, I register these things far stronger than someone who has a different experience!
