@mutogamingco called into the void. the void calls back
"i've seen some very strange things in my time. worlds that would burn your eyes to ash. creatures that can twist your mind into madness."
she took a step forward, the spines on her back rattling.
"but i've never seen anything as strange as your hairdo."

@mutogamingco || kiss and tell
Finally kissing the person you’ve been pining for.
It’s a relatively quiet night for them, having exhausted the snacks that Mana brought and devoured the pizza during the movie. But how now, they sit on the floor, digging through a box of old games, and Mana can’t help but smile over her hand of cards.
Yuugi looks like he’s concentrating, his brow furrowed in thought, and it’s completely wonderful.
He plays his card and the magician sighs good-naturedly, throwing down her hand, utterly defeated in one move. “Am I ever going to beat you? I know you’re the king of games, but this is insane! You’re too amazing!”
His only response is to tease her, like usual.
Together they gather the cards and reshuffle them to put them away, and she can’t help but bump his hand a few times.
It’s amazing just to be near him, she has to tell herself. This is wonderful just as it is.
She doesn’t need any more. This gives her plenty of happiness.
She returns her attention to the box, leaning over him to rummage through it, feeling her cheeks heat a little. He seems a lot closer than he did the last time she did this. Had he moved?
She turns her head slightly, watching his eyes dart back and forth from her, focusing on her mouth.
Oh? Oh!?
She slowly pulls back past him as he leans forwards and she freezes for the briefest second, moving towards him with purpose and—
BONK!
Ow.
His forehead had smacked up into her jaw, and now both of them were clutching at sore points with pained groans.
Mana lets out a giggle. This actually seems about right.
She reaches out for him, readjusting his jacket with a gentle hand.
Perhaps it simply wasn’t meant to be. That was fine.
Being around Yuugi was more than enough to make her smile, make her feel giddy.
It seems as though Yuugi is less satisfied with that outcome though, as his hands move to cup her face to keep her still?, and he was staring at her intently again.
“Yuugi?”
Another glance down to her lips and she understands, pulling forwards to meet him easily.
Their lips brush with a feather-like touch, before pressing together with a little more enthusiasm. One first kiss turns into a couple and when they finally pull away, she lets out a shaky breath, unable to keep the smile from her face.
Wow.
“… Uh… hi…” she finally manages, knowing her face is burning now.

Commission for @hisahku of their RP characterization of Heba, and my of Yuugi (@mutogamingco) together. It's an AU where they were twins separated at a young age and find each other just as Battle City is starting.
It ended up being hard to see, but the symbol and constellation for Gemini is in the background, as that is what I have the AU tagged as on my blog. It was so fun drawing them together. I also got to put into practice some things I have been learning from my master studies.

Every time Bakura passed that god-forsaken building, a cold shiver went over him. It wasn't haunted, run-down, or even scary. No, no. It was a reminder, that was all. A reminder of how he spent nearly his entire existence being, well, a little hellion doing what he thought was right. A hellion puppeting the poor kid who was destined to hold the ring. He'll never be able to look him in the eyes if he saw him on the street.
The worst part? This stupid building is the only game shop near where he lives.
Kame Game Shop. This is where Ryo used to frequent when he needed things for Monster World. It was home to his friend Yuugi, and the bearer of the puzzle he was destined to fight for. And now look at him! He's standing here like an idiot, staring at that shop across the street, because he's looking for the newest Monster World core book. This is a nightmare. Sure, he could go across the city and get it somewhere else, but that's so inconvenient when this is right here.
Half of him was telling him not to do it, the other insisting. They must feel his hesitation. Before he knew it, he was making the trek across the street. Pale hands gripped that handle, and it was thrown open a little harder than necessary. Hm. Overestimated the weight of it.
The ex-spirit felt his heart hit the floor as he walked inside. A cursory glance didn't single out what he was looking for, which made this entire experience even worse. He'd have to go to the front. Kick the man while he's down.
Both hands were placed against the desk, and he looked forward with both confidence and a burning desire to get this over with as fast as humanly possible as he asked,
"Hey, do you have a copy of the Player's Guide for Monster World second edition?"
He didn't even look at who was at the counter. He was just hoping it wasn't someone he knew.

@mutogamingco liked for a starter <3
a crimson fog, speckled with flecks of golden aura, manifested itself quite rudely out of thin air. thick tendrils of smoke coiled around one another, fusing and forming a proper shape.
"kekekeke!"
the kitsune manifested into a physical form, floating excitedly in the air, ears swiveling and all four tails puffed up in delight. "behold! your god has arrived! now, ancient one, you and i will do battle until i-"
aishya paused, tilting the snout of their wooden mask down, staring at the mortal before them.
"oh. wait a minute. you're the other one." they scratched the back of their head, looking to one side and then the other with almost a sense of helplessness. "no matter!" they declared, returning focus to the human, jabbing a dark claw in his direction.
"i will allow you to bask in my glory for a moment longer, and then you will give me the magical artifact around your neck!"

Ah, of course. That statement was probably bold of him…the Pharaoh is a demigod to his people. To remind him he is human could be taken as an insult. Yuugi bowed his head. "Of course, and as such they are higher than most people could imagine. Your body is still mortal."
Oh, but he didn't like the bow given to him. It felt wrong, in a way. He set the cup down, and gestured for the other to sit next to him, to join him, with a small pat on the linen cushion.
"And that is why I have servants." He gave a little wink, almost playful. To lighten the other's worry, of course. "What has you so worried, then, Yuugi?"

**BAP!!**
Poor Yuugi is so easily bullied even when he has claws!
I had so much fun with this silly little drawing from last night's boop war and thought it deserved a post of its own. A certain thief got carried away. I imagine the follow up would be the entire squad pouncing on him in retaliation.

Wow, I had no idea your boyfriend could be such a jerk. A lot of people look up to him.
mentioned: @mutogamingco …? Timing wise?
“He’s not a jerk! He’s the one of the nicest people I know.”
“I just… I just hope he’s okay. I think he’s having a bad day, but… I guess I’m making it worse.”

@mutogamingco asked: "Would you enter another Duel Monsters Tournament?"
'Yes or No.'
That was a question she hadn't heard in a while. And to be truthful; she rather missed being out in the field, having fun. "Yes." She most absolutely would.

He wrinkled his nose and giggled. She really knew how to lighten the mood no matter how she was feeling. There had been times when Yuugi had worried he had genuinely hurt someone and didn't remember, but Atem had assured him that was not the case. "Yeah, it was like that. It happened more and more after I wasn't afraid of him and had started thinking of him as a part of me. We merged like that all the way through the end of Duelist Kingdom when we first got to talk to each other. Then we didn't fuse as much." Part of him was sad about that fact. He had never quite been able to put it into words before, as she had. But that was it. Becoming someone else entirely and never being alone. Her question dragged him out of his thoughts. "That's what I guess I'm trying to figure out. What does the chosen one do once the quest is over? It's hard returning to a normal life after all of that, especially when a lot of it isn't so normal. But I want to make things. I want to make new games to share with people."
She pats his hand gently. She understands how that feels quite well; the feeling of incompleteness as you get used to being ‘you’ and not ‘we’ again.
“Mm… you two were nice together, but I think you are both much more awesome apart. I never would have gotten to know Yuugi as the amazing individual he is if he had stayed attached to ‘Yami’. And likewise, Atem would have never been… well, he wouldn’t ever have been ‘Atem’ again. You worked well together, but not nearly as great as when you were able to be a team.”
She pulls him into a side embrace. “You’ll do it, I’m sure. If anyone can make the impossible happen… it’s you, Yuugi. You’ve come so far already, and I’m so proud of you for wanting to do even more. I can’t wait to see what you decide on, and I’ll be there every step of the way I can be.”

⎛ sc. @mutogamingco ⎠
Ever since his so-called miraculous return to the public eye, Dardanos Eleazar had been on a rather short list of incredibly wealthy individuals who would offer sponsorships to small town dueling competitions. Not that Domino City was small, but he'd seen the world- and it was nice to just see people enjoying themselves at something local.
Sometimes he wondered if this was what Pegasus felt like. It certainly felt warmer without the Mother Goddess dragging his mind into the dark.
⎛ . . . ⎠
Timaeus stood proud on the field and Dardanos held his hand out to his opponent when the dust cleared. Things were easier, now, where the stakes weren't so high and where he could simply enjoy re-forging the bonds he had with the very people who taught him everything he knew. More than that, it seemed that fate had brought his oath to a place where it would converge with another legendary soul.
Of course Yugi would be around. The game store wasn't too far, was it? It also seemed unlikely that the crowned King of Games would miss out on something like this.
Timaeus, it seems, is just as intrigued. Dardanos knew that the Knight of Justice had chosen Yugi as his champion- because Yugi and the Nameless Pharaoh were two entities that brought out the best in each other.
❝ I hadn't thought we would cross paths again, ❞ Dardanos finds himself smiling- ❝ But, I am glad for it. I don't think I ever had a chance to offer my gratitude. ❞

"Asking is nice, coming from me," Kaiba says. "I don't give everyone the courtesy of having a choice." He folds his arms, watching Yugi work. He doesn't even always give Yugi a choice about whether or not he plays, but that's not the point.
He looks around at some of the cards in the display cases, though none of them catch his interest. "Why do you want to work here? Because the old man started it, so now you have to until you get a kid to con into taking over for you?"
