What if instead of magic being what turned the seal skin a part of drift it was some stuff that mutaded the leviathans/funky chemicals released in the tsunami that then reacted with mer dna that of the seal skin wich after he wore it a while began to what it did.

Just a wierd idea i got

I intentionally have left out the more ubiquitous, "staple" keywords (e.g. Lifelink, Flying, Scry, Vigilance, Deathtouch, etc), as well as the infamously powerful keywords (Convoke, Cascade, Delve, Dredge, Storm) to make the options more interesting

Note: I am a casual fan at best and have seen few out of the many many keywords that have existed across the game's long lifespan, and the ones I remember are even fewer (and even if I remembered them all there's a max of 12 entries per poll). 5 Fun World-Building Things in My Book

1) Antithesis Berries

Because my magic system is based around a crystal that causes you to mutate and evolve when you ingest it, there is a special kind of berry that's evolved an anti-nutrients. When you eat them, they stop your body from absorbing the Catalyst until the berries have left your system. This is good if you don’t want to mutate because Catalyst is in all the food and water on the surface, but if you’ve been exposed your whole life, the withdrawals can theoretically kill you (if you keep eating them).

2) Herding Animals

Animals that live in close-knit groups are prone to evolving in very similar ways because they face the same problems and need to have a united front. You can’t have some giant sheep, some poisonous sheep and one that can run at light speed. However, solitary animals like tigers, humans and most predators can evolve as much as they want in whatever way they please. The only compatibilities that need to be maintained are mating and child-rearing.

3) Hereditary Evolution

Speaking of children, the adaptations of any given organism isn’t hereditary because the mutations don’t effect genes in the reproductive cells. However, as the baby is being grown, it’s body is slowly being expose to Catalyst and in some cases, the baby will be born with similar traits to their parents. This may be because they baby’s immune system used the adaptations of the mother to guess what environment the baby would be dealing with.

4) Kinds of Adaptations

Change can come in many different forms. In animals, for example, they might change size, colour, develop new markings or camouflaging skills. They might change from reptile to bird, fish to mammal, amphibian to insect. Their breeding process might shift, or they might change their diets drastically when their normal food is scarce. It’s all a matter of survival.

5) Ailments

While Catalyst can target conditions like asthma or blindness, it can’t stop injuries, death or in particular, viruses. This is because viruses also have access to Catalyst, giving them a boost in the fight against the immune system. This leaves most organisms on equal ground luckily, unless you somehow went your whole life in an underground bunker… hm.

You know what's scary to think about? How inbreeding caused the gaunts to basically die out. How black madness is so prominent — and one or two more generation they might end up where Gaunts were (if they continued the marriage in family for a “pure bloodline”). Imagine, in a world where Voldemort actually won, and if we follow the theory of Voldemort wanting to destroy the world; just imagine, purebloods basically killing themselves by following this line of marriage — Imagine, how horrifying the results would be as they slowly die out.

Rin and Seri 2025 predictions

im bored and thinking about what kind of cards that are specific to my favorite decks this years sets might bring so i'm going to make some predictions

Aetherdrift: not just a vehicle set this set will have mounts and I am willing to bet 1 might be a cat or a dog. probably nothing the deck really wants but if its a good enough mount in general I have found mounts are a good way to make sure Mirri Weatherlight Duelist ends up tapped.

Tarkir Dragonstorm: no cats maybe some dog folk we will see

Final Fantasy: definitely 2-3 cats if we include Coeurls, Red XIII, and Cait Sith but not all of these will be within Nayas colors. there is not a lot of dogs in the Final Fantasy series but the few that do appear are notable enough to maybe get a card, more likely to see wolves I think

Edge of Eternities: I predict maybe 1 dog thats a reference to Laika or is an alien vaguely resembling a dog

Spiderman: Black Cat is not literally a cat by any means and would probably cost black mana. no dogs either, Chameleon will probably have the Changeling keyword but again probably will not be in naya colors

Avatar The Last Airbender: I hope to watch this series soon don't think it had a lot of cats or dogs tho. However if this set includes anything from Korra then that mean Korras polar bear dog could be in the set and that sounds really cool. like c'mon I dont care where you stand on UB or Korra it's a POLAR BEAR DOG thats awesome an autoinclude in any dog deck and probably decks that care about funky creature types.

Honestly I love the Trollz was a prequel to trolls theory, I just think the idea that the trollz were orange juice evangelioned by the volcano which resulted in new trolls forming from the ashes is so good. Like maybe the reason trolls magic seems to come from music is because all those beads merged with the trolls so the magic was innate again like it was for the ancient trolls and the music is just an evolution of how trollz used incantations to access the power of the beads.
