Mi povas mergi min en Esperanto čar mi ne faris multe da progreso ekde 2019. Mi kredas mi komencis lerni en 2019, sed mi rezignis dum (por?) unua jaro. Mi rezignis la hispana, la franca, la japana kaj la irlandano čar… nu, estas evidente kial. Tro da lingvoj lerni (por lerni? Lerni sentas malgxuste.)

Sed, mi restis kun la Esperanto(n?) čar gxi estas facila. Mi volas lerni lingvon por la sakeo (that’s… is that seriously the word? Sakeo? I joked once that Esperanto is 80% English words with -o and the end and 15% other languages with o- at the end, but I digress) de lerni lingvon. Homoj diras ke tio estas malbono kialo, sed, kial? Estas amuza… ne estas krimo amuziĝi.

Honeste, mi estis (estis for ‘have been?’ doesn’t feel right…) uzi Google Translate por helpi min, sed ne por lambastono. nur por kontroli se mia gramatiko estas bona. Ne estas, evidente, sed… mi estas nesekura pri gramatiko. Mi scias ke gxi ne estas bona, sed gxi estas probable pli bona ol mi sed mi ne uzis gxin.

Cxiuokaze… mi havas punkton kun ĉi tio; estas malfacila mergi en konlang! Jes, mi povus aligxi servilo de Discord, sed… la embaraso. Mi estus kiel, “Bonvolu… mi estas…” kaj havas furzo de cerba! Mi estas tiel malbona pri Esperanto. Mi devas fidi al tradukistoj por helpo. Mi uzas Google Translate por helpi kun tempoj kaj gramatikoj, sed la vortoj estas plejparte el mia cerbo, se tio havas sencon.

Thanks for asking, anon! It means a lot to me that people like those posts because I love doing them.

To answer your question, I did not do one last week but I may have one for you on Sunday. Still not sure yet, I have a lot to get done for the next 2-ish weeks. I do almost all of my picking the night before because I base it on the music I listened to that week and I don’t want to miss something that hits me unexpectedly, but I think I have something in mind.

If you’re curious about my habits as of late, I’ve just been listening to a shit ton of Suburban Noize (I personally recommend Mower if you’re into hardcore rap punk, or their alter-ego Slower if you’re more into lounge jazz) and Psychopathic Records (mainly Twiztid but they’re not signed to them anymore so does that count? who cares I’m still sad about it) acts and anything adjacent, plus a bunch of tracks off of Follow the Leader, The Green Book, Korn (the album) Significant Other, Abominationz (Madrox), and Gold Cobra. Too many good tracks between them all. Also been enjoying some less popular (as far as Tumblr is concerned) nu metal acts like Element Eighty, Dry Kill Logic, American Head Charge, Methods of Mayhem (I swear to god, they have good songs), Genuflect (they’re like a fully nu metal RATM), and Quarashi (they’re Icelandic RATM!).

As for a life update I’ve been struggling BUT, my head is a bit clearer at the moment. I went out last night and it was a nice distraction, and y’all have had some real kind words that have helped.

The "roselia isnt jpop" post has appeared on my dash again. Several points:

-roselia is a made up band for a rhythm game and something akin to 50% of their music is covers.

-"something being used for an anime opening doesnt erase all of its merit" interesting that you think jpop has no merit? Strong words from someone calling a strawman racist

-something being used as an anime opening absolutely makes it jpop, or japanese popular music. sorry.

-similarly, an entire band existing for the sake of an anime rhythm game also makes it jpop

-all you have to do to know that post is bullshit anyway is use the spotify for devs tools to look up japanese bands (saying this with complaints about spotify from op and the notes in mind). the post is at least a couple of years old anyway bc i remember seeing it a long time ago, but spotify has recently redone their whole genre system, because i did this spotify for devs thing when i saw this post last time and its even better now. for example, roselia doesnt have the jpop genre tag anymore. they DO have anime rock and j-pixie, but that's because they look like this 👇

i'll give you a hint about how their music sounds: it sounds like the way they look. if you pop in buck tick, they're under jrock and vkei. atari kousuke is ryukyu ongaku and okinawan folk. even mariya takeuchi is under classic city pop, idol kayo, and japanese singer-songwriter. was spotify's system worse when the post was written? yes, it was. but they have clearly actively done better. also i think most people in the notes just dont understand what jpop is.

-reading comprehension quiz: did i say anywhere in this post that racism doesnt exist? did i say anywhere in this post that real humans in america do not lump all japanese music together? what exactly am i actually talking about and what point did i actually make? use examples from the text.
