what's ur favorite flavor combo with chocolate (peanut butter, mint, caramel, sea salt, etc)
Oh this is such a hard question.
I typically will reach for caramel first, but I also like coffee with chocolate a lot and mint, too!

Can the baby stars you look after give horoscopes yet or is it like human children explaining natural phenomena without really knowing how anything works?
AS BEST AS I CAN EXPLAIN IT:
TIME IS A GREAT SEA OF POSSIBILITY FLOWING THROUGH A NARROW RIVER INTO ANOTHER WIDE SEA OF POSSIBILITY MOST PEOPLE ARE ROCKS IN THE STREAM EXPERIENCING TIME AS A POINT AND SOME ARE A STRING IN THE TIDE EXPERIENCING SEVERAL POINTS AT ONCE
DUE TO MY STATION AS CARETAKER I CAN EXIST IN ANY PLACE AS A STONE BUT I HOLD A MAP OF THE RIVER
MY LADY IS THE RIVER

sometimes i play videos of sivi making Noises around my own dogchildren just to watch them try to find the Other Dog Where Is He Why Is He In The Computer Dad Help Him
i have to be careful playing sivi videos bc i am talking in most of them and if i make a promise i can’t keep in the video (ex: “wanna go to the park?”) it spells Bad News for the next few minutes

Okay now you gotta do the ask meme thing, same rules
ok let’s get ready for FALLOUT *air horn noises*
1. Of the fics you’ve written, which is your favorite and why?
ah fuck!!! going off the ones on ao3 (and not the ones in my tag), probably Disappear (and its sequel, but imma talk about Disappear). an assload of work went into it and i always really love fics that touch on lots of different characters. i maintain that f4 wasn’t a well-written game except for the companions, all of whom (most of whom) are great.
2. Which scene was your favorite to write in [title of fic]?
the scene where danse shows up! i love the reactions of him and the three kinds of people he hates the most, plus writing pre-synth-knowledge danse is a lot of fun. he’s such a dick.
3. Which part of [title] was hardest to write?
the scene with cait. i honestly like cait least of the companions, so it was tough to write her scene since i don’t rock with her a lot.
4. If you could change anything in [title], what would it be?
i would stagger the scenes a little better. sometimes they come off clunky, because i was mostly just excited for the middle and end.
5. Did you make an outline for [title]? Did you stick to it?
nope and nope! i never outline short form, and almost all my fics are short form. i only outline long form.
6. Which scenes did you cut, and which were added in [title]?
didn’t cut or add shit! what, you expect me to edit?! in this economy?!
(dw, i edited. i just didn’t cut or add whole scenes during the process. it’s a pretty regimented fic.)
7. Who was your favorite character to write in [title]?
hancock! always hancock. josie, too, surprisingly! i really, really don’t think the ptsd inherent in the fallout 4 game is addressed enough.
8. Which came first, the title or the fic?
the fic! i’m bad at titles and they always come last.
9. Which idea came to you first in [title]?
like i said before, the whole idea of ptsd in the f4 universe. most of my works have a plot and then a ‘what’s it really about’, and this one’s really about a mental break following trauma, and how it is possible to move past it.
i’m really passionate about the idea that you have to have a bigger theory behind your works. its one of the first things i come up with when i’m working on something original (for fic it’s less important, because for me fic is a way to blow off steam so i don’t think about them as hard). it could be an extended metaphor or a message or whatever, but it’s gotta be there. the apocalypse book i just finished writing is really a metaphor for the education system, and the podcast i’m currently writing is about emerging on the other side of an illness (mental or physical).
10. What are some facts readers may not know about [title]?
i listened to this great playlist on repeat while i was writing. it’s so amazing and i listen to it a lot. its inspired a lot of my fallout work. so @cerigg, if you’re out there, what a jam of a playlist. thanks a ton.

is it just me or does the presence of heavy antique wood furniture with built in mirrors (vanities etc) almost always go hand in hand with a haunting
Oh for sure. It makes sense, in my opinion. Mirrors are just sort of innately psychologically weighted and unsettling. If you have a mirror in some place basically marinating in bad vibes for decades, it’s gonna be a spectral petri dish by the time you move in.

Do any of the mods have info on top surgery (ftm) with pectus excavatum or other chest wall deformities? Mine isn't particularly severe (that I can tell tbh) but I know it'll get more pronounced once my chest is flatter, /if/ I'm able to get top surgery.
I wasn’t able to find specific medical info, which is... frustrating because you’d think there’d be something. There are scattered reports of other trans people having top surgery with pectus excavatum, but I couldn’t find photos or accounts of any potential complications. The rough consensus appears to be “it doesn’t show under a shirt but is more noticeable if you’re topless”. Mastectomies for breast cancer are apparently performed with no issue, but the concern appears to be reconstruction, especially if the excavatum is asymmetrical; I’d imagine that a similar challenge could be posed with masculine reconstructions.

"I am not beautiful like the oak tree across the path, nor popular. No young man has ever proposed to his girl beneath my lantern, no picnics have been spread, no children have climbed me to see above the treetops, no birds make their nests in my branches. Why sketch me when you could sketch something so beautiful?"
The artist shrugs her shoulders. "I could sketch a million oak trees and they would all look identical, but there’s only one you."
Read a short story by @museumlad and had to do some quick pencil sketches while I was chilling in the park. Statues that come to life are just one of those things I love.
