the fact ive seen no fics yet of a johnshi no powers au where kenshi's white cane is named sento is criminal. like come ON GUYS its RIGHT THERE

Im imagining, Kenshi isn't Yakuza but he comes from a long line and he's very interested in the history, Johnny is still a celebrity. They meet somehow and become friends and Kenshi is like info dumping about this ancient sword his family had named Sento and how cool it is, how it was told to give his ancestors magic sight or whatever. Its probably in the british museum.

Then later, maybe Johnny is attacked because of how famous he is. But Kenshi protects him and well you know this part.

And Johnny of course puts it upon himself to help Kenshi, he lets him move into his house because he can renovate it quickly to be accessible. And of course he spends hours researching and finds the best white cane money can buy, detachable tips (of course he buys ALL the different cane tips as well), spring handle so it doesn't jab Kenshi in the gut, the whole works.

And of course he jokingly calls it Sento but Kenshi likes it and it sticks.

2. Mountain

The Kang Dynasty was a family famous in history books- they maintain their reputation even when they're remains and only found on history books, museums, and people still fawn over them.

As a collage student, you would encounter this topic in history. Students fawn over them because of their 'good deeds' and 'glamouring' looks. Especially the emperor in this generation you're traveled into, Kang Ta...

"Who was he again? Gosh, I havent thought about history in a while." You get lost in thought as you clean the campsite of Soobin and Hobak as a sign of gratitude for saving you.

Its been officially a day since you've arrived here; you've built the pieces and it seems that you have time traveled for some absolute crazy reason.

"It was those masked people. Im so sure! I thought they were theives.." You sigh as you finish gathering the leaves on the ground and throw them in a pit.

"Somehow.. I still have this chopstick." You put it in your hair as you remembered the ladies from this dynasty wearing them on their hair. "I think it was that lady. Or she maybe predicted this and wished for my downfall because I looked stupid." You mumble to yourself as you grunt and sit down on a big rock waiting for something to happen.

Soobin and Hobak were cool honestly. Soobin was handsome but really introverted. He could just say one word for the day and go on. Hobak on the other side, is short compared to Soobin and very talkative, what a unique duo.

They went out to town because Soobin needed more herbal medicine for you because he thought you had memory loss or things that you couldnt understand what he was saying.

You wipe your hands and stand up to go back to your tent which was originally Hobak's that he was kind enough to share.

"Hey! Were back!" You hear Hobak shout before you could even reach your tent.

"Yo, something happen?" You ask.

"Nothing really crazy, but I saw the Crown Prince today! He looked handsome as hell but not as me. Anyways, I dont know why they're at Daedo, but it seemed really suspicious and at the same time important." Hobak rants on, and Soobin just nods his head.

"Cool. I cleaned a bit for you guys, and dont worry, I didnt displace anything." Soobin smiles at your work and places down the baskets he brought.

You all go inside the main big tent which is where the two of them eat, make ingredients and make medicine.

"What are you planning to do?" Soobin asks you.

"I dont know.. I still havent gained my memories, but the best thing to do right now is explore. The problem? Im broke." You knew that saying you time traveled is just pure stupidity because one, they dont know that, two, you'll be called crazy. So adjusting to Soobin's diagnosis would be for the best.

"You can work for us. I can give you money." Soobin happily drops out paper in the table and grins, "You'll be like an herb collector for me."

"Sure, that would be cool." You grin back and write his so called 'requirements' in the paper he placed down.

Morning comes, you hear the chickens attempt to wake you up for your first task, which is to travel to the mountains to find herbs Soobin needs.

"Wait. How do people find their way home though.." You thought as you prepared to go out. "It is what it is."

You walk over to the main tent and see Soobin sitting, drinking a cup of coffee. "Heres the list." He smiles.

"Good mood?"

"I like seeing people volenteer to help me."

"Cool."

You take the list and shove it down your pockets, "If you dont need anything else, then i'll be on my way." Fixing your shoes, you get ready to leave to the mountains.

"Goodluck." He smiles again.

The mountains were filled with leaves as it was autumn, and there were many trees compared to the present. It was truly refreshing to see a nice environment after a while.

"If I get killed by a bear, will I go back to my time?" You talk to yourself as you go on the mountains.

"Holy! Its this thing from the list!!" You look at the drawing and the plant and see alot of similarities, "Bingo." You pick up the plant and put it in your basket.

"Checked.." You put a check mark using charcoal that you randomly found in the ground.

"Next!" You hop on.

Soobin advised on how to get home, that to try and head to Daedo, which was at the South and Hobak would pick you up because he had errands there.

You knew directions enough to go, so it wasnt much of an problem.

"Ooh! Another one." You pick up another plant and mark it with the charcoal as you go on once again to the mountains.

You left the base at exactly morning, which for you was eight in the morning, and you had no issues on the way so far. Soobin's list is almost complete so you had no worries because you seemed lucky today.

"Check, check.. check. This is easy!" You giggle as you jump around the leaves.

"It dosent seem to bad to be in this dynasty. It feels good to have an escape from the suffocating gates of university and issues going around. It feels like life just became fresh again here." You sigh as you feel the wind swarm around with your thoughts.

"One last plant! And lucky for me, its over here." You crouch to the ground and pick up the plant and place it on your basket. "Wooho!"

But somehow, you couldn't shake off a weird feeling. Because everything was going so well; nothing has happened to you. And you felt like something right now is gonna go wrong.

"WHAT THE FUCKK!" You get trapped in a net, which seemed like a booby trap for animals and hunters to catch.

"I PREDICTED THIS. URHRHRHG." You groan and move around the net to try and make it give up because of your heavy ass.

You hear footsteps approach and you just start praying in your mind that they dont kill you and actually let you go and they're a kind soul and..

"Why are you here? This wasnt made for you." A tall man in a pony tail with his long hair and wearing black armor as he held a sword. He was hot as well.

"Whats good?" You smile at him awkwardly as you were in a position with tangled arms and legs.

"Who are you and what is your purpose?" He draws his sword. "Hey, hey! Im good- im innocent! Uh- im just looking for herbs!" You shout.

"See?" You shake your basket at him. He looks at you with a raised brow but dosent draw back his sword.

"So please, help?" You grin.

He dosent reply and cuts the rope with his sword which drops you to the ground "Ouch!" You fall ass flat.

"Thank you.. uh.."

"General Beomgyu of the Palace."

"Yeah! Thank you so much dear General Beomgyu!" You jump around in joy as you hug your basket.

"Its dangerous out here. Why are you collecting herbs?" He asks with his sword drawn back and crossed arms.

"It is? I never encountered any danger." You were lying. You saw booby traps in some areas, like alot. But decided to avoid them, but this trap you fell in was well hidden.

"...Okay. Who do you serve?"

"Uh... Soobin. Do you know him?"

"Oh. Its Soobin." He mumbles as he fixes his throat, letting the air engulf the two of you. He speaks after a while, "I have to get going."

You suddenly have an idea in mind, "Wait-" You stop him from walking, "Where are you heading to?"

He looks at you suspiciously but still answers, "Daedo." Your eyes brighten as you grin, "Can I come with you? Arent you concerned about the dangers lurking? Then a General like you! Can help me." You smirk as he looked genuinely suprised at your remark.

He thinks for a while, "Alright. Just dont be a bother."

"Wooho!" You shout with your fists thrown into the air as he just eyes you and proceeds to walk the direction to Daedo.

"Hey, do you serve the Crown Prince?" You ask as you both walk down the leaf filled ground. He looks at you for a short time and looks away.

"Yes, I do."

"Why are you here at Daedo?" You ask him. You remembered Hobak ranting about how the Crown Prince's prescence was both suspicious and seemingly important.

"Why are you asking?"

"Because im curious? Who lets the Crown Prince go along Daedo randomly?" You shrug as you two walk down a path.

He hesitates to answer, "We have business here in Daedo. You should be aware then that I cant share that information to you."

"Im aware, I just wanted to see if you would tell me or not."

"What?" He looks at you a little confused, "You're crazy."

You laugh at his comment, "Thanks."

You both become silent for the meanwhile as you observe your surroundings- you might need to know this place for future tasks or just incase you get lost.

"What do I even do after? I dont plan on working my whole life for Soobin. Well, that dosent seem so bad. I can explore Daedo then go practice fighting to look cool and build a base and-" Your thoughts get cut by Beomgyu, "We're here."

"Oh, theres my friend!" You notice Hobak near a corner. "Well, General Beomgyu, I wont forget you!" You wave goodbye as you run to Hobak.

"I wont forget you too." He mumbles under his breath before heading to his designated place.

so ever since i drew that lil thing of essek painting a frank stella inspired painting (or even before), ive been thinking of what kinds of art each of the m9 would do. essek ofc is inspired by a minimalist show that i went to here, all the big names from that movement were shown, but those really dark, sinkhole-like paintings are speaking to me. another artwork of boxes made of mirrors also seems like the thing he would do too

there's a kiln here that we visited which was huge, and surrounding it were artists' studios and some other ceramic sellers, i imagine the clay family having a place like this in the middle of nowhere amongst the trees, and caleb would do his work there

anyways because at heart im a shadowgast luver its centred around them,, they meet at an artist residency or something like that and its an incredibly slow burn that involves talking and not-talking and looking and not-looking. in the end i am but a simple wong kar wai fan so. that kinda vibes would definitely influence this, i would describe it as a quiet burning i guess?? time skipy and words that are not said

i think im gonna rant a bit more about their different mediums and styles so i'll keep it under the cut

i think caleb sculpts figures and portraits, but in a sad, kathe kollwitz charcoal vibe. maybe some funky looking animals, perhaps some pots and vases to look at the pretty glazes. he's interested in using fire to burn texture into different mediums, like ive seen it being used on shellac to make a really cool net of ink looking structure.. but yknow, just seeing the aftermath of glazed ceramic from the kiln is enough, and probably better for him to keep his distance anyways

the clay family produces most of the ceramic to sell, vases, pots, plates, cups, teapots, yknow just a whole array. and its really colourful too, depicting every family members different style. i think caduceus would do some matte glazes with a lot of different colours, theyre all a little wonky but theyre better off that way anyways. he does some really mean ink calligraphy and painting though

jester definitely does,, everything, whatever her heart desires kinda thang. she makes pastel textile installations and lighthearted cute paintings, but theyre always so contemplative and soothing. she gets m9 a lot of work cus her mom has connections, etc etc. i really love the idea of jester creating works that talk about the female body and femininity (definitely not projecting no)

beau is a printmaker and photographer who's really experimental, she loves cyanotypes and printing flowers (for yasha), idk she seems like she would put fabric and rocks into the washing machine to see what would happen. u would probably catch her in someone elses studio learning about what they do or in the library learning about what old people did

veth works in a museum as a curator, getting beau to help her sometimes with gathering artworks and artists etc. she probably organises community art projects for kids and public art installations. her house is full of m9's artworks and various other artists shes worked with.

yasha does bouquets as her post-retirement part time job, prior to that no one really knows what she did ("she probably murdered a bunch of people and is now hiding from the government"). fjord draws comics for fun but is also not a job for him, molly is a question mark for me. but these guys probably wont be in it as much anyways

im still not sure what format i wanna do this in, im actually having fun just writing it in my notebook now (digital does not facilitate the creative juices) but i do want to do some visuals like fake movie stills or storyboards. maybe they will work together well???? dunno. working on the other shadowgasty thing im doing made me realise how much easier it is to draw when there's a script already there, so im writing the script for myself

im definitely not as practiced in writing as i am in drawing, but idk im just gonna have some fun and see where that takes me, meanwhile try not to feel too bad that its fanart HAHA (very bad habit)

ok so i wrote a WHOLE ANSWER to this question while i was walking back to work after my lunch break and long story short my phone refused to post it because it did not want to connect to the museum wifi and there is no cell service where i work so i may miss some things as im writing it out now because ive already written it out once before but OK LETS GO

so Hamato Yoshi moves from Japan to Hollywood and becomes famed movie star Lou Jitsu, and falls in love with Big Mama, the owner of the Lotus Hotel in Las Vegas. When Lou proposes to Big Mama she accepts! But she also is like we need to have our wedding or the honey moon or something basically she's like we need to go to my hotel and Lou is like sick this is so cool and normal and BOOM two seconds later like multiple decades have passed .

Baron Draxum is a scientist/historian who has fallen into this ancient greece sort of niche. He's not a demigod BUT he has the ability to see through the mist and has seen weird things happen and has dedicated his life to figuring out what is up. He manages to figure out that the mist exists and that it has something to do with ancient greek mythology, and he manages to figure out how to tell if a location is like enshrouded in the mist, which leads him to the lotus hotel. Draxum knows something is up with this hotel but then he starts noticing people who are dressed as if they are from completely different periods in time, and THEN he notices famed movie star Lou Jitsu and he's like ok theres some weird time thing going on here and he connects the dots between the Lotus Hotel and the Lots Beds from the mythology and he basically just yoinks Lou out of the hotel who is now like girl what on earth is happening its WHAT YEAR?????

im trying to figure out how the boys get in the picture. I was thinking that Draxum while doing his research ended up finding these four boys, who he determined somehow were the children of gods, and he wanted to do research and experiments on them. I think this would happen before he rescued Lou Jitsu from the Lotus Hotel maybe a few months before? Draxum ends up taking Lou Jitsu to his home where Lou is like thanks for saving me dude real cool of you, wait a second are those KIDS? YOURE DOING EXPERIMENTS ON THEM? and basically Lou is like actually no we are leaving now actually and he nabs the boys and dips in the middle of the night

Raph would be three, Donnie and Leo two, and Mikey one when Lou Jitsu takes them from Draxum, and I think the four of them were just in various orphanages or group homes before Draxum got them

Raph i think would be a son of ares but im still debating that Leo is a son of athena Donnie is a son of hephaestus Mikey is a son of apollo

The boys would have done the demigod thing where they bounce around schools every year. Leo is actually the one who gets expelled every year and he has a reputation as a trouble maker, but he's actually covering for Donnie. Donnie's you know super into tech and building but a lot of his stuff explodes or attracts monsters. Leo takes the fall for all these accidents and all the destruction because donnie wants to go to like higher education, wants to go to like university and whatever and it would look super bad on his record if he was getting expelled from every school. Leo on the other hand doesnt really care and he's normally around when Donnie's doing his inventing so its pretty easy for him to take the blame.

Because the boys are constantly bouncing around schools they dont really have any friends. Theyre only friend is April O'Neil who is their neighbor and who is able to see through the mist. She really runs with their chaos and all that. OH also the boys don't know that theyre demigods until they actually end up at camp, and Lou doesn't know the godly parents of the boys until again they end up being claimed at camp.

I think that Casey will also be a demigod? a daughter of ares i think. and about april i want her to either become the oracle of delphi like rachel does in the pjo books, or i think she'll start learning how to manipulate the mist like hazel does in hoo

all of this i just thought of today though so im bound to change things as the au develops and like feel free to chime in if you have any ideas because im really just flying by the seat of my pants with this one

so basically the like backstory is that someone had a massive crush on kaito from drv3 and got filled with despair when he died so she made her own killing game to try to like one-up tsumugi

for a while i was stuck on who the "traitor" would be and i think it would be cool if it was kaitos younger sister, but like obviously everyone wouldnt know its his younger sister until trial 5 and this would take place a few years after drv3 so like everyone is the same age

idk if this is actually gonna be canon yet but i think its kinda funny if they met online about it T-T because like chatblogs iirc are canon in danganronpa so what if like twitter was and the mastermind was like "i have a plan to get back at tsumugi for killing kaito #drv3 #fuckyoutsumugi" and kaitos sister was like "dm me"

RISOGRAPH PRINTING IS COOL AS FUCK i really hope to go to a riso workshop someday and learn abt it.. also modern japanese woodblock prints are so banger... i went to a museum a couple months ago and found an illustration book filled with them and it was so awe inspiring. Paper collage art is also one of my faves, i see a lot of it in childrens book illustrations and its really something!!!!!

9. What are your file name conventions

Yall uhh everything is literally just "untitled" or "stack" 😭 LMFAOO ever since i started regularly using procreate i never name my work in-app 🤪 when i used to use photoshop itd be whatever i nicknamed the character + maybe whatever the subject was (eg. bedebert school au, hikart slayin, izzay combyuter) OR SOMEHTING

Recently ive really been into kingdom hearts and sonic art styles basically the look where the lineart is super thick and pointed and varying in line weights?? it look sooo good but personally i hate lineart im more of a quick sketcher/painter so maybe one day ill try it to experiment but, i just do not work that way LOL

Anywayyy, I've begun making a sorta plan for the Museum of Oddology, but there are a few things that are kinda blocking me;;;

1. How big exactly is the Museum? I've thought of it as a small but still decent sized museum, like, they aren't the most well funded, but they still have enough for 5 to 10 small or medium exhibits (with maybe one big one as la pièce maîtresse) (+ the petting zoo + the cafe)

I thought that the building might be 2 stories tall (like Ground floor + 1st floor) with a basement for things too dangerous so they can contain them/store them somewhere, but I wanted to know your thoughts

2. Also;;; what kind of artifacts do they expose? I've found a few resource about how to model an exhibit and now I'm wondering what exactly they're showing so that I can make an accurate plan of the exhibits. Like, I guess crystals, cursed/magical artifacts (maybe the cursed ones are in the basement I dunno), flora, paintings/statues showing different aspects of the woods/anomalies, some interactive educative activities, but I don't know what else

Ohhhh, I guess there could also be anomalies (the ones that speak English) who could have dedicated exhibits where they talk about themselves and their community??

i figure while im answering asks i'll finally get to this because the aabw au doesnt deserve to die

okay so i'd think it has three floors (including the basement here), there might be some exhibits on the roof like cool plants that need natural sunlight? your thoughts on the general size is perfect i think though

and you're right about all the cursed/dangerous shit being in the basement, that's blocked off from tourists (actually was stan's idea, ford wants to show everyone the gremloblin but stan remembers his first encounter with it without a lot of cryptid experience and still has nightmares about that shit) but if you're a regular and really good with the other cryptids you get special exclusive access to the basement with either ford or dipper's guidance (dipper and mabel would end up becoming like. accidental employees at the museum it isnt like canon where stan makes them work there, they just come along a lot and when they eventually start getting good at helping out mabel runs a lil arts and crafts booth while dipper gives tours stan and ford just start quietly slipping them money for it its some under the table shit)

they'd probably show off in the main area (so like. first floor, not behind any doors) more innocent shit, and unharmful cryptids are just like. they just walk around among the humans like the less bitey gnomes, you'll see some category 1 ghosts at night if you look for them, innocent shit that wont traumatize a five-year-old

as for specific items eeeeuuuhhhhhh

small, non-toxic plants (ford taste-tests everything that doesnt smell like battery acid. the sound of ambulance sirens gets stuck in his head like a song might), little crystals and artifacts (like the height-altering crystals, definitely those since they're abundant and relatively easy to find)

certain harmless anomalies are locked up purely because they're annoying. like the unicorns kept gossiping about ford changing his hairstyle once so now they're in a soundproof enclosure that can OPTIONALLY be . not soundproof

anyway thats all because if i keep adding to this i'll never be able to finish hvhgfkgkgkfhbhfkguhf i also have four writing projects to work on and a fifth gestating so. you guys are either gonna eat soon or starve ig

JDHSJ the writing style isn’t my favourite but the plot is really good and the characterisation. oh my ever loving fuck THE CHARACTERISATION!!! strong nsfw that i’m like 99% sure is quite crucial to the plot though so i’d maybe skip this if ur not comfortable with that!! (the first 6 ish chapters should be mainly fine though for that if ur just wanting smn small and funny)

HEKANDHWKS i would die for this fic. it’s absolutely amazingly written like genuinely there are like 6 chapters where my mouth was agape the whole time purely bc of the writing style. the plot is really interesting, and the author deals with illness very very well. it DOES have a happy ending im so proud to announce and it’s overall very very sweet and i love it please read it i beg KDHSJ

i physically could not tell u a thing about this fic, i read it when i was suffering with the flu BUT from what i do remember it was surprisingly sweet and the main ending conflict is resolved by a bird so JDHAKSH also also also in spite of its name it only has like 2 nsfw scenes in it which are VERY easily skippable and also a scene where dazai dresses up as a girl and they go to a ball :D

THIS IS SO CUTE. it’s been a while since i’ve read it but from what i can remember the plot is rlly cute, and sskk’s dynamic is really sweet. the author is also the absolute sweetest person ever and i highly highly recommend leaving a comment or two bc they’re genuinely soso sweet and Will respond KDHAKSH (there IS one nsfw scene but again, very easy to skip and doesn’t affect the plot by any means)

holy ever loving FUCK THIS FIC IS AMAZING. i remember the first thought i had while reading it was “this authors read the irl authors books.” LIKE IT SHOWS SO MCUHF WJDKDH i think my favourite example of this was in i think the first or second chapter when dazai plays the synonym/antonym game from no longer human it’s genuinely really really sick. as well as that the author will occasionally sprinkle in quotes from books and poems and it’s just. very very very cool. the characterisation is phenomenal its so well written very highly recommend !!!

Tango, mr. redstone guy, professional tinkerer. The guys good with his hands! You know those dads that take it upon themselves to do home repairs or improvement using whatever they have laying around rather than pay someone else to do it? Tango's a bit like that—nothing in the ranch ends up made out of what it should be made out of but it works and so who can complain. If Jimmy leaves anything just sitting out for too long there is a good chance it is going to be stolen in the name of tinkering and used in some sort invention. But I love...taking this further and saying this skill with his hands translates into things like crafting. So, Jimmys the animal expert on the ranch, right? I imagine Tangos the go-to for things like...sewing and mending clothes and blankets.

I went to a museum recently and it had these cow horns that had maps carved into them, and ever since I've also been super attached to the idea of Tango carving things in his and Jimmy's horns,,,, little reminders or comments like don't forget to latch the gate on the cow pen, again! or looking good today, handsome :) That is absolutely a favorite of mine !!
