How does one . . . express an opinion about something they, technically, have no knowledge of ? No expertise, no familiarity ? Not a single, MODICUM of a clue ? Hank is shuffling through racks and shelves, trying to find something that will work for an android fresh out of obedient captivity, but everything he pulls forth makes Connor feel . . . off. Is this how it feels to not LIKE something ? To be able to have an opinion without it being seen as OPPOSING one's superior ? It isn't as if he knows a SINGLE thing about fashion, but considering the articles he's read and the trends he has quietly studied, he firmly believes Hank doesn't, either.

" Hank. You have that very same shirt at home, " Connor points out, hoping to EASE his new roommate away from this particular rack and over to one less . . . ' aged. ' " If we are shopping for you, instead of myself, then let me know and I will step in to help. "

" I... don't think that would help you much, detective. I am speaking English -- at least, I believe I am unless my internal translator is suffering a malfunction -- and my humor seems to be failing just as much to hit its mark. " Tit for tat, an eye for an eye. Gavin may be absolutely INSUFFERABLE, but at the android must COMMEND him, at the very least, for his persistence. Hank would have scoffed and told him to fuck off by now, albeit PLAYFULLY, by this point, but not Gavin. It's... oddly entertaining, in a way, now that they're fighting with WORDS and not fists or threats.

" I hear a few chuckles coming from some of the officers, though, in response to your... jabs. Might just be me. " An attempt to lighten the tension? Mayhap. Hopefully, it helps the time pass with a bit less discomfort hanging in the air--- well, until Gavin decides to add to it again.

Connor flips to the next file, scans it, and closes it right back. Nothing of use in there, of course. " The Lieutenant hated when I did that, actually. If I was asked to, though, I would... but that is not my department. " One of the biggest CONCERNS about his kind was that androids would eventually end up making humans all but OBSOLETE in the workforce. Last thing Connor wants is to worsen the stigma by completing a task not delegated to him.

as much as he hated to admit it, connor's ability to keep up with his insults was pretty spot on. a unique kind of challenge, trying to get under the dude's robo-skin but never really being able to do it. like his own little game. connor could certainly keep up with him, but like hell gavin would admit that out loud. 

"guess i should learn binary or something, maybe then you'd get my humor," another attempt at a joke, but even he considers it flat. he rolls his eyes, turning back to his desk to act like he'll be working for a little while. 

but he doesn't stay quiet long, it's almost impossible for detective to do. he groans, "forensics is draggin' ass again, been waiting like a week for a blood sample to come back. couldn't you just do it with your sampler thing in your mouth? or are you allergic to helping anyone other than anderson?"

As if the clear signs of distress weren’t telling enough, Connor could practically feel the waves of turbulent emotions emanating from the young man as he spoke. A strange side effect of deviancy, or so he tried to convince himself. Connor knew that he could always feel others emotions in some way, though he hadn’t been able to do much else beyond categorically describing the sensation before. Empathy was an odd thing, not unlike the shortwave communications network that all androids shared with one another. He supposed it wasn’t exactly unique to machines. This person, though…

The concern of warmth & the mention of having been lost had the android’s chest cavity feeling tighter slightly, like a sensation of worry having become physical, though psychosomatic. There was nothing wrong with his secondary cooling system, yet he felt a little breathless. He sought to reassure the stranger. “It’s okay. I’m a police officer,” he offered, a faint smile tugging at his lips. “I’ll help you.” He considered escorting the young man into the station in order to assist with some of the most basic needs, like food & temporary shelter. Connor assumed that he had been out on the street for at least a few days, & took it upon himself to scan the stranger’s vitals to assess his overall condition. What he found was…puzzling. The android had expected to see  perfectly normal, yet potentially malnourished human anatomy. Instead, he was met with synthetics & machinery. His thirium pump skipped a beat, LED spinning a confused amber. This boy was an android.

❝ i'm... ❞ isaac pauses as he tries to assess which of his concerns he should address first. lost? the android might be able to help him find his way. cold? it could find him somewhere warm to recover. hungry? he doesn't have any money, nor does the android, probably. grieving? isaac isn't sure it can help with that one. ❝ i'm lost, ❞ he settles on eventually, ❝ and... i'm really cold. ❞ he's been out on the streets like this for days, it's honestly a miracle he hasn't died yet, he thinks. ❝ i don't... i don't know what to do... ❞ he hadn't known what to do when mother stopped breathing. hadn't known who to call or how to save her, and so he ran, and he keeps seeing her on the floor in the atrium whenever he thinks about her. ❝ my mother... ❞

          “I’m doing what needs to be done to further this investigation.”  he replied in a sharp tone. This was his whole purpose, the reason he was made. Amanda was beginning to question him, expressing disappointment at his lack of success thus far. He had let deviants go. Why had he done that? If he continued to fail they would have to replace him, they would destroy him. This shouldn’t bother him --- it didn’t! He was only bothered by the idea of failure. An increasing number of software instabilities had been occurring, perhaps that was the reason for his previous failures.

          Connor didn’t understand why the lieutenant wished for him to stop. This was his job as well, he should wish to see him succeed. A deep frown pulled at his features.  “I have to do this.”

If there was a human trait that Connor had perfected, it was PATIENCE. Though, one could argue that it was a necessary ally as an investigator, whether blood or Thirium 310 that ran through one's body. There is no benefit in PUSHING--- not when Koun is slowly, surely, beginning to calm and show trust. If the department wanted their answers, they would know to let the prototype turned IDEAL model lead this questioning as he saw fit.

As he feels Koun's hand slowly slip within his own, Connor BRACES himself. These . . . memory taps were, likely, the HARDEST part of any investigation. They could be jarring, confusing. Connor oft witnessed things that would BREAK the mental fortitude of most humans, and even he was beginning to believe he was starting to walk away from these exchanges a bit less SURE OF HIMSELF than prior. Who else, though, but him ? If it helped -- truly -- then he would stop at no lengths to do what needed to be done.

It starts off pleasant, homely. Koun's frustrations and instabilities still blare like a red light in his peripheral, warning him that there's a REASON such a monumental event should be treated with heightened delicacy. Connor logs details as he spectates, notating even the most miniscule of things, from the colors of the wall, to the fabric of the victim's blouse. A normal, domestic exchange, their relationship immediately deemed extremely close and WARM. Where, then, had it gone wrong ?

Much like the TENSION in this mish-mash of memories, Connor's LED blinks to reflect the shift. Blue . . . yellow. He can feel it ( SOMETHING ISN'T RIGHT ), can sense Koun's nerves dialed up to near EXTREME levels at the voice that was not his own, INTERACTING with someone near and dear to him. Someone near, dear, and VULNERABLE. It all transpires so quickly that even the state of the art RK800 model struggles to pinpoint every movement, a mental note made to go BACK through this log to timestamp everything of importance to the furthest extent possible.

He needn't any time, at all, to piece together that this woman had had no chance of survival, with an impact that severe. Seeing her lifeless body slumped against the wall sends a CHILL through his body, much like the moment he realized, in his time at Hank's side, that not only was HE afraid to die, but he was WORRIED for the life of those around him that he had come to care for.

At least he could say he still HAD Hank, for however long the Lieutenant's body saw fit to keep him at Connor's side. Koun, unfortunately, had lost his happiness.

The sudden DISCONNECTION has Connor blanking out, briefly, a diagnostics test ran to ensure the abrupt severing didn't cause notable HARM to his systems, before he scans the perimeter for Koun. He can hear the other law enforcement officers shuffling about just outside, ready to leap in should Connor call for it, but how would these HUMAN counterparts of theirs ever come to ADAPT to this newfound coexistence if these situations were always handled so aggressively ? Koun needed a delicate touch. An understanding approach. Had he grieved ? Been able to fully PROCESS this grave, detrimental loss ? And what STEPS needed to be taken to open a pathway to self forgiveness, and hopefully, a second chance at a normal, HAPPY life ?

" Koun . . . " Connor, slowly, rises from his chair, palms raised to prove there was no weapon, no threat. One step forward, a pause, and then one more, his eyes never leaving Koun's traumatized form. " It makes sense to me now . . . I saw what happened. It was not you who killed her. It . . . was not you who is at fault. I'm sorry it had to come to that . . . but it was necessary to understand. " But to lift one's guilt with mere words is not ENOUGH.

" Can you hear me ? It's me, Connor. Are you still with me, Koun ? " He doesn't want to approach too quickly, sensing a wrong step, or word, could put both himself AND Koun in danger. Androids, still, were as fragile as HUMANS, in that regard, no matter how tough the materials were that lined their parts. Another step, two more, three . . . he stops just within reach of Koun, and slowly reaches for his hands, hoping an understanding TOUCH may restore some level of calm.

" It's okay . . . with this, I can close out your case. You won't need to be pursued or hassled or forced to relive this anymore . . . I promise. It's okay . . . " Doubly, they could pursue the one who HAD -- ( WR600 . . . he'd gotten THAT much, and would surely find more later on, when the opportunity arose to sift through everything else. )

How does one EXPLAIN deviancy ? To put it into words, UNDERSTANDABLE words in regards to how it FEELS, rather than its textbook SCHOLAR definition ? In some ways, it was an unexpected gift. Like a breath of fresh air, of circulation cutting shackles finally loosened and removed. True, REAL freedom.

. . . but, then, it's also terrifying.

Connor questions himself more now. ACTUALLY questions himself, rather than waiting for whatever Cyberlife-tuned components to right themselves, because everything had to be ' By the Book ' back then. Now, he cannot blame certain blips and uncertainties on lapses in functionality or injuries sustained during an investigation long since concluded. With freedom came independence, and with independence came new trials and tribulations that couldn't be approached with the same mindset anymore.

When Markus stumbles upon his doorstep looking like he's tempting a visit to the scrapyard, it's one such situation where the detective-turned-deviant QUESTIONS himself. Had Markus brought this on HIMSELF ? Was Connor, potentially, putting himself and, thus, Hank AND Sumo in danger by letting the other android take REFUGE inside the house ?

. . . would it be morally WRONG to leave Markus to defend for HIMSELF instead ?

Were the telling LED still embedded on the side of his head, it would surely be blinking YELLOW right now. Markus, as the leader of the revolution and a good part of the reason androids could live FREELY now, likely had a sizable target permanently plastered to his backside. This would not be the last time he would find himself in a position like this, and if Connor were being wholly honest, that worried him.

" Markus. Good evening. " He needn't call attention to the OBVIOUS. Instead, after much internal deliberation, he steps out of the way to allow Markus entry into Hank's home, and follows after him to make sure the android didn't crumble into a heap mere steps inside. " The Lieutenant -- no, Hank -- stepped out. You appear to be . . . injured. Do you need my help with whomever did this to you ? Or, should I prioritize your injuries if you are certain you weren't pursued ? "

it'd be safe to say that even though the revolution was over, even though the laws were starting to change, not everyone had changed their attitudes toward androids. markus had a huge target on his back - there was no question about it. he needed to be careful. but a quick walk to the store would be fine, right?

it all happened so fast. and the initial blow to the head that shot the vision in his right eye didn't help. it was a group of people: maybe three or four of them? he probably could've fought back a bit more - lord knows he has the combat skills - but markus was tired of violence, and wrestling the bat away from them was impossible. so he ran. it felt cowardly. it didn't support what he stood for. but it was the best move if he wanted to live to see another day.

admittedly, connor wasn't the first person to cross his mind. but he was nearby, and he had connections to the police. he isn't sure if he's being followed, or if it's just paranoia setting in, but markus pounds a fist on the door rather incessantly until he sees the knob start to turn.

markus is in a pretty bad way — he's losing a lot of blood, mostly from the gash on his head. he has scrapes and dents on most of his body, especially his arms. his right eye was completely non-visual. deviants still couldn't really feel pain, but they could tell when something was wrong. they couldn't function as well. it was sort of like feeling sluggish. ❝ hey, ❞ is what he musters up.

StephDen (WIP) Bio

StephDen is an RK800 who upon deviation chose to pursue a career in erotic dancing rather than the detective work he was built for. He found that he unique look/the damage he'd sustained was considered very erotic to some people and has since used that to his advantage. To him this is the biggest fuck you he can give to CyberLife, taking an expensive "piece of equipment" and "wasting" the work and skill put into it by using almost none of the talent he's been programmed with.

Upon his death, he was bought by Zlat (other muse of mine, before he deviated) and was experimented on as Zlat had been programmed to act like his creator Zlatko. Eventually Zlat released him and an RK900 named Sita upon his own deviation. Sita and StephDen are currently roommates.

Because I would like StephDen to be able to interact with all those who're interested in him, this is a main verse. I am more than happy to make other verses if this doesn't work for your muse, but you still want them to interact.

StephDen is the RK800 who died in the fight with Markus when he got speared with a pole by Markus. As a result in main verse he is a little hostile towards Markus. Even though he is deviant he's still very irritated by his own defeat, or how he views it, failure. Up until then he had been nearly 100% machine. More often than not his only concerns were Hank's feelings, until he deviating he did not care at all about any android's that he'd harmed.

While he was considered "Connor" for a significant amount of time he immediately changed his name to StephDen upon deviating. Specifically because the name is odd and he likes to annoy people at any given opportunity.

He is very difficult to get along with, he is capable of change, but it's gonna be work they he very well may not deserve.

The weird blade thingies on the sides of him are his tails.

Hi friends! I have quite a few new followers but my activity on here is very low at the moment. I just wanted to briefly re-introduce my muses and let you know about their human verses as well! ♥♥ If you’re unsure about RP with androids, I would LOVE to explore these human verses!

CONNOR -full machine verse, never been used but still open -deviant verse, usually post-revolution  -human verse! connor’s age range is approx. 23 to 32 but it’s negotiable. he’s usually from detroit but location is negotiable as well. he’s a brilliant detective but socially anxious and reserved. he also has a history of OCD and panic disorder, but they’re typically well-managed. i might make an exception or two but connor is primarily aro/ace. 

NORTH -deviant verse, pre or post-revolution -human verse! north has dealt with a lot of trauma. she was a star student growing up — perfect grades, head cheerleader, and she grew up in a moderately wealthy family. both of her parents passed away her junior year and she lived with her older brother for a few months before running away. she dropped out of high school and made it by performing sex work. after an attempt is taken on her life, she seeks out help and ends up going to college for social work with a minor in women’s studies. north is a badass. i’m willing to rp her anywhere from 17 to 27-ish!

MARKUS -deviant verse, post-revolution: markus is left extremely lost and even traumatized after everything. he feels a sense of responsibility for the lives lost. he’s mentally and physically exhausted. he is prone to flashbacks, similar to PTSD in humans. at times he can even be paranoid. my boy is struggling. i wrote a whole fucking essay on him here. -human verse unavailable at the moment

ELI (oc.) -deviant verse! eli was built originally as an MR-400 android, basically a registered nurse. he worked in hospice care until there was a disagreement over a patient and he was fired and left to his on devices. he flees to detroit post-revolution. he’s not ashamed of being an android and won’t lie about it, but he removed his LED and does his best to “blend in” with the humans. he attends EMT/paramedic school for a change of pace.  -human verse! still working on it a bit. very similar to the deviant verse, except that he is a human. he takes his job seriously but off the clock is a goofball and a party animal. he’s also the gayest of the gays. women are gross.

HANK -younger verse tba! -i still have a lot of deciding to do about (my) hank’s backstory! but yes, he’s the hank we all know and love. after a traumatic loss in 2035, hank turned to alcohol as a means of coping. he separated from his wife and moved into a small one-bedroom home with his dog, sumo.

[Verse] Give A Dog A Bone AU

(This is a work in progress and really, there will probably be several variants to this AU because its really just for the hell of it.))

Either by mistake, on purpose or as a means of self preservation, Connors AI has been temporally transferred into an Android Poodle, PD800. PD800 is simply a glorified poodle show dog model. 

Indications that it’s an android are on the wrists of each paw, however this models fur on each paw masks it a bit. The collar would also glow faintly and react the same way an androids LED would react to changing information. Calm = blue, processing information / partly stressed or concerned = yellow, stressed / angry / scared = red.

The PD800 model’s takes on the traits of a poodle and it’s means of communication would be simple. It acts like a normal dog / show dog but if in need of repairs or Thirium, a message could be sent to another android or assigned text to a cell phone. In an event of it getting lost, it can detect a near by cellphone / tablet and text it.

However, given the the PD model will have Connors advanced AI, Connor will be able to communicate the same way. He can’t physical speak in this form, he’ll bark, growl and whine but can telepathically talk to other androids and through texting human devices. He’ll also show more humanistic gestures, such as placing a paw over his snot to face palm and retain his normal memories prior to being a dog. So this will run long side the main verse unless stated otherwise. It might be obvious that this model isn’t your everyday android dog but unless Connor reveal's to you who he is, your muse shouldn’t know what he is and consider it a deviant at best.

Connor will have a lot of advantages as well as disadvantages while being a dog. Such as being very agile and quick but not being able to turn a door knob. I look forward to the weird situation he might get into and the goal is generally for him to get loaded back into this body but in the event he does ‘die’ his AI is backed up and will simply never remember being stuck as a dog and won’t believe anyone telling him otherwise lol.

Elizabeth was once a stable woman and loving mother to her children. She was by most accounts a good mother and caring woman who enjoyed her work. But she began to slip. She became stricter on her children and her usually through work began to suffer. She was now colder and demanding.

Background: Elizabeth works in the research and design department of CyberLife. She works to gather various research to help aid in the design of aesthetics for various to be mass-produced models of android. Her research, consumer surveys, analysis, and decisions help determine base given names, facial structure, hair color, eye color, and more. Although all those are typically highly customizable upon purchase by a customer.

She is married, but separated to a man by the name of Steven. They were happily married until grief ripped them apart and Elizabeth in particular started to become unstable. They had worked out a custody agreement for their children.

She has an adopted daughter named Alex. In a select verse, she also has Neilos and Ava as foster children she goes on to adopt. These weren't the only children she had. Sadly she lost her biological son at a young age, her son Connor was only four years old when he passed away from cancer. This started her instability. 

A few months after she purchased a custom YK android to his likeness, but slightly older. She would end up returning the android to CyberLife who would go on to reuse the android as a tester for the YK800 project.

She was responsible for various design and name aspects of several models of note including the RK800 series, RK900s, and the scrapped project of the YK800 line. These are notable not only for their significance as highly advanced, most state of the art androids, and roles as deviant hunters but also due to the fact that all their given model names were assigned as 'Connor'. As her slope downward continued, her work started to suffer.

She was ultimately let go from her job. She would blame the android deviancy outbreak and later revolution for this unemployment as several employees were 'put on the back burner' around this time as the focus shifted. However, in Elizabeth's case it was due to her instability and nothing else.

Her specific spiral became more apparent to those around her with her interactions with the single YK800 who she not only had a history with, had assigned the series name of 'Connor' to but also later tried to take the young android from his home with Hank Anderson. She claimed it was her son. 

While it was the same android she originally commissioned from CyberLife this was not her son. He had been greatly altered by CyberLife and later officially adopted by Anderson. Meanwhile, she was the one to give the android away to CyberLife for testing.

CyberLife had created a weapon and now all that was left was the blood on his hands. When his stress levels reached 100%, Connor's software lost its structure, making him volatile and entirely unpredictable

CORRUPTED.

After the success of the revolution, CyberLife wasn't willing to back down and lose their only asset within the walls of New Jericho. After Markus and co. established themselves, CyberLife's engineers created a virus that would cause a deep corruption within Connor's software, turning him into the ruthless killing machine he was meant to be. The Deviant Hunter, revived into a merciless, inexorable force.

ZLATKO.
