#multiple versions cause i couldnt pick

Note
Hi, i was looking on multiple websites and i couldnt find any specific camp halfblood scedules for all the demigods, or at least none of them matched up to each other.
Do you have a version or even your own idea of how the days work? ( bcs ur ideas are usually pretty good lol)
Thanks!
My interpretation of it was always that each demigod has an individual schedule, probably tailored to their specific training needs and if they're a year-round camper or summer-only and whatever else may play into that. So each camper would get an individual schedule. I also generally presume that campers will generally have similar or the same schedules as their siblings within their cabin, like for example all the Apollo kids may go to archery together, all the Demeter kids may go to pegasus riding, etc etc.
Adding a read-more here cause this got very long - Beyond this point, here there be lists from canon of camp activities:
So we know some of the general activities available that they might participate in. Percy goes over a couple in Sea of Monsters:
Tumblr media
And in PJO: The Ultimate Guide (ghostwritten by Mary-Jane Knight, fun fact!) we also get Percy's camp schedule over the course of a week (only weekdays - presumably campers get the weekends off). I can't get a scan of it currently, but his schedule includes (roughly verbatim) (it uses military time which i don't feel like translating right now cause I'm too dyslexic):
Breakfast and cabin inspection (Every morning 8-9)
Ancient Greek (Every morning 9-10:30)
Lunch prep (Monday), Store checks (Tuesday), Cleaning stables (Weds), Picking strawberries (Thurs), Polishing armor (Fri) (10:30-11)
Archery (Mon), Javelin throwing (Tues), Sword skills (Weds), Monster assault techniques (Thurs), Pegasus riding (Fri) (11-Noon)
Greek mythology (Every day 12-12:30)
Lunch (12:30-13:30)
Weapon-making (Mon), Ride the rapids (Tues), Tracking skills (Weds), Wrestling (Thurs), Volleyball (Fri) (13:30-15:30)
Letters home (Mon), Cabin clean-up (Tues), Laundry (Weds), Wood-chopping (Thurs), Firework-making (Fri) (15:30-17:00)
Free time (17:00-18:00)
Dinner (18:00-19:00)
Volleyball league (Mon), Unarmed combat (Tues), Archery knockout (Weds), Trials of strength (Thurs), Capture the flag (Friday) (19:00-21:00)
Campfire singalong (21:00-22:00)
There are notes as well that: Cabin inspections are carried out by senior camp counselors in rotation (which we've seen in the books), Ancient Greek and Greek Mythology are taught by Chiron and Annabeth, Sword-fighting is in the arena, Weapon-making is at the forge with the Hephaestus cabin, Archery is taught by Chiron (which again we know from the books - see the excerpt from SoM), Wrestling is with Clarisse, and Dog-handling (not featured above) is with Mrs. O'Leary.
Based on what we know from the books, it seems like the post-dinner activities are general for all campers and are slightly more opt-in. Maybe it's a matter of campers are encouraged to participate in at least one after-dinner activity a week, but if they don't wish to they can just spectate instead. I'm presuming the activities immediately before free time/dinner are also shared by all campers, probably in rotation though so that hopefully all of CHB isn't doing their laundry at once. I'm also going to presume that certain campers may do certain activities significantly more often than others, again based on their specific training needs - like, I imagine "ride the rapids" is probably usually a Percy-specific activity. Other campers may also participate in it, but Percy may have it on his schedule much more regularly.
And we know from other misc. books and Percy's progress report (also from the old Rick Riordan website) some other general camp activities include:
Music lessons (taught by Woodrow the satyr, at least as of TOA)
Chariot racing
Footraces (and one-legged races, in TOA)
Of course, as mentioned previously, rock-climbing (at the lava-wall)
Border patrol (again mentioned in the SoM screenshot - we know it somewhat fell out of practice after TLO due to the Golden Fleece strengthening Thalia's pine, which in turn strengthened the camp borders, and since there was no longer an active war it wasn't as needed, but presumably campers will still do it, or at least maybe Chiron will make the rounds.)
Washing dishes (in lava) (they get gloves, don't worry) (Usually carried out by the cleaning harpies, but may be assigned as punishment)
Gardening (presumably mostly in the strawberry fields)
Some campers are implied to have specific individual jobs, such as Will being camp medic and implied to be in charge of the infirmary. Also presumably someone is manning the camp store (I can't recall if it's canon or not that the Stolls are/were in charge of that but I just always say that they are cause it just feels right). And for awhile "generally taking care of Mrs. O'Leary" seemed to be a specific camp job that Beckendorf and Percy usually did.
According to Sea of Monsters and Sea of Monsters only, allegedly there are just. Normal horses in CHB. So taking care of them and also general riding lessons with them are presumably also in the schedule somewhere, unless that's a job for the nymphs and satyrs.
Alongside ancient Greek it's implied the campers are also potentially given Latin lessons. Presumably also taught by Chiron, given he was a Latin teacher.
It's also implied that CHB has some form of year-round schooling available for the year-round campers. So their usual camp activities may begin to lean heavily into more standard classes during camp's off-season.
And then there's this example schedule from the old Rick Riordan website:

Hope this helps!

hey wormdoll what video game songs have you been listening to lately?
don't think ive ever been called a wormdoll before, that's a new one!
to answer your question, the last video game ost i listened to was the Sims 2, though specifically the console (ps2, xbox, gamecube) version's ost. it's primarily the pc's ost just extremely condensed down, but i have a lot of nostalgia from specifically the console version of Sims 2 since that was my favourite sims game when i was younger
#ask#anon#honestly when i got around to playing the PC version of Sims 2. it was so wild hearing all the tracks from the console version#that combined with all the new tracks i hadnt heard before#also i thought it was so neat you could set up your own library of prefered songs to listen to in the PC version!#i also played Sims 2 Pets on console. which also had a different OST that i didnt like as much as normal Sims 2#for the console version they picked mostly a lot of techno-esque songs from the PC version (including from the dlcs)#and honestly it gives the sims 2 such a different feel for me from the pc version#like. i played the sims 1 too... albeit again the console version#i didnt like it as much 1. because it had such weird vibes and 2. because you couldnt control your sim#like the thing i LOVE about sims 2 on console is that you can physically control your sim without needing to point and click#i kinda played the sims less of a ''youre god'' kind of game and more of a ''youre you :)'' kinda game#albeit im not an alien with a mohawk. so theres that#also another thing i thought was cool was that you could select the alien skin colour without needing to be abducted like in sims 2 PC#also hearing the full song for the loading screen of the console version is SO weird cause usually the loading screen went fairly fast#yknow not like lightning speed or anything. just a few repeats of the beginning melody and bam#the thing i was always sad about with the console version was that you couldnt build multiple floors like you can on pc#so building houses was very limited even though like. im sure they couldve made it work#like hell the pc versions of both sims 1 and 2 have multiple floors#but neither console version of sims 1 or 2??? so weird...#nor even sims 3!!! like it was SO disapointing seeing no inovation for the console versions#anyway!!! thank you for the ask!!!#i appreciate being able to talk about my nostalgia a little :)

Rockabye Royalty (One-Shot)
-------------------------
"I dont care! Just get out of my house! I'm not taking care of a stupid baby!" Virgil's head rang with the sound of his boyfriend's yells. He hadnt meant for this to happen. He'd been on the pill, there was hardly a time when he wasn't. Erin had promised to keep him safe, he'd promised that nothing was going to break them apart. Yet here he was with fury in his eyes, holding a stick with two lines on it.
"Erin you promised! You said you werent going to leave!" Tears were pouring from Virgil's eyes, his chest was tight, he could barely see straight.
"I never promised anything for a baby!." And then Virgil was on the sidewalk, leaning against the building with his head in his hands. He couldn't go back inside to get his things, that was for sure.
"I'm so sorry. . ." He whispered, holding a hand to his stomach. They were supposed to be a family, they were supposed to be happy together. He was only twenty, he couldnt take care of a baby.
Virgil waited for himself to calm down, staring up at the sky in the hopes that no one would look at him.
When he finally calmed down he made his way to the nearest hotel he could find, he supposed it was lucky he'd always remembered his friend's advice of keeping the large bills in bras, Erin had always hated looking at those. Virgil pulled out a few before walking inside, covering up with his hoodie so it didnt look strange.
"How many nights can this cover?" Virgil said to the woman at the desk, placing a few twenties on the counter. He bit his lip, not really expecting an answer.
The woman looked him up and down, a sympathetic look in her pale green eyes.
"Stay as long as you need sweetheart, I'll cover it for you," Virgil let out a sigh of relief, he felt like he was about to start crying.
"Thank you thank you thank you-" he stopped himself from adding anymore thank yous at the last minute.
"Do you need anything special in particular?" Asked the woman, Virgil scanned for her name tag, Mrs. Evans.
"I uh-" he paused, shuffling his feet. He wasnt sure this would count as special arrangements or get him turned away. Subconsciously he pulled his hoodie further over his stomach.
Mrs. Evans' eyes widened, a look of realization dawning on her face. She ducked under the counter and thrust a key into his hands.
"Here you go, room 13, and dont you worry about meals or anything, it's all free," she pushed a few magazines toward him, a quick scan of the covers showed him a few job opportunities. Virgil merely nodded, scooping up the magazines and rushing off to the room, he heard Mrs. Evan's making a call in the distance, she sounded worried, he felt a twinge of guilt in his chest.
The room was larger than he'd expected for only having one bed. There was a tv, multiple appliances, including a coffee machine, and of course, a bathroom. Virgil sat down in the couch at the corner of the room, opening the blinds slightly before holding his hands to his face.
"Oh gods what am I going to do for clothes? I cant go looking for jobs yet! I wouldnt even be able to stay that long!" He didnt really know who he was talking to, there was no one else in the room.
He got an answer to his question a few days later when what seemed to be a trash bag full of clothing showed up on his doorstep. He picked up the card attached to it, but all that was there was the image of a heart bursting into flames, with a crown around its middle. Virgil shrugged and dragged the clothes into the room. It was mostly hoodies and overly large t-shirts, but there were a few outfits in an appropriate size as well. He set to work on hanging them all up, ignoring the pain in his stomach.
The real problem started a few months later. He'd been laying on his bed watching the tv and flipping through a magazine when he felt it, the baby was coming.
He didn't think he'd have time to get to the hospital, but he remembered an offer Mrs. Evan's, or Cassira as he knew her now, had made a few days after he'd gotten there. He buzzed the front desk quickly and in a matter of minutes, there she was.
Virgil didnt remember much else, if he was being honest with himself he'd probably passed out. When he opened his eyes he was laying in the bath tub, a mess of towels and a pair of underwear and sweatpants discarded on the floor. He blinked a few times, and then he heard crying.
"Shhh, shhh, it's ok little one, look, daddy's awake, its ok," Cassira was holding something swaddled in Virgil's hoodie, she passed it over to him and he held the small child in his arms.
"Its a girl," Cassira said, not putting much emphasis on the last word.
"Hi," Virigl said softly, looking at the mini version of himself swaddled in the jacket. She had the same soft face, and the same purple and green heterochromia, though her hair was a more jet black color, like Erin's. She smiled as she looked at Virgil, letting out a laugh somewhat like wind chimes.
"You let me know if you need anything," said Cassira. Virgil nodded and watched her leave.
He sat there for a while, watching the bundle in his arms with a fond smile on his face.
"I think we'll call you, Olivia," Virgil said, holding her close.
It took him a few minutes to finally get out of the tub, clean up, and redress himself, all the while keeping Olivia safe.
About six years had passed, Virgil was working full time at a retail job, the only thing he could get while he was working on a degree in Education. When he wasnt working or studying, all of his time went to Olivia. While they were still living at the hotel, Virgil had finally started earning enough to pay for her clothes and schooling and at least a few toys. He was looking into houses as well, he couldn't live in Room 13 for the rest of his life, even if it was free.
Virgil watched Olivia play with a rubik's cube he'd bought her as he wandered the aisles of the shopping center, uncomfortably aware of the people around him.
"Remus I'm just saying! It's not that bad of an idea!" Virgil stopped the cart just moments before a tall man with dark crimson hair and green eyes walked out in front of it.
"Hey! Watch where you're going!" Virgil growled.
The man stopped "Remus I'm gonna have to call you back," he said, hanging up the phone.
"Sorry about that," he said.
"And who is this little princess," the man turned his attention to Olivia, who was sticking her tongue out in concentration over the colorful block in her hands.
"'m Olivia," she said quietly, giggling.
"And we were just leaving," Virgil said, anxious to get out of the aisle. Whoever this man was, he didnt want to be near him for to long.
The man opened his mouth to speak, but Virgil was already pushing past him.
But that wasnt the last time he'd meet the man. The two started seeing each other at nearly every store, on the way to the movies, and eventually, at the hotel itself.
"Ok, can you just admit you're stalking me like some freak or are you just going to act all innocent every time we bump into each other," Virgil said, covering Olivia's ears.
"I'm not doing it on purpose!" Said the man, Virgil took a step back.
"Wait- I didnt mean-" the man paused for a second, looking at his hands.
"Look, I'm not intentionally trying to meet up with you, though you seem like a nice guy, my name is Roman Prince-Duke, I run a modeling agency with my brother," Roman said, tapping his fingers together.
"Oh?" Virgil raised an eyebrow slightly.
"I wasnt taking pictures of you! I mean I'd like to- but like as a job! Not in a creepy way!" Virgil's face went red. This seemed to catch Olivia's attention, as she finally stopped fumbling with his hoodie strings to look over at Roman.
"Daddy's gonna marry a prince," she whispered, causing the blush on Virgil's face to grow even further. Roman let out a small chuckle, covering his mouth.
"Ollie that's not how it works sweetie," Virgil said with a laugh.
"So how much would I be paid? What are the requirements?" Virgil asked.
"Fifty dollars per photo, and you get to make the decision on outfits used and pose adjustments," Roman said.
"Alright, I'll bite," Virgil said, if he was honest, he'd do anything to get out of his current job.
It was about a week before he could finally make the shift. He'd decided to bring Olivia with him to the building. It was large and ornate, posters of attractive men and women were smiling down at him. But it was different, the people in the photos were dancing, singing, they were acting like people. Virgil pushed the door open, snatching Olivia out just before she started spinning it in circles.
"Daddy look!" Olivia pointed upwards towards a fountain at the center of the room.
"I see it Ollie," Virgil said, smiling. He walked to the front desk, where a short man with light brown hair and round glasses was typing away at a computer.
Virgil was about to open his mouth before the boy looked up, and noticed Olivia.
"Oh my gosh look at you! Arent you just the cutest thing!" Olivia giggled as the man ruffled her hair.
"You must be Virgil then? Roman's been absolutely raving about you," said the man.
"Did I hear my name Patton?" Roman said as he walked into the room, and then he noticed Virgil.
"Virgil! Lovely!" He clasped his hands together.
"Come with me, Patton can take care of Olivia while we're at our meeting," Roman said. Virgil stood there for a few seconds, looking between Patton and Olivia before finally letting go of her hand. She rushed behind the desk and stood on her tiptoes to stare at the computer.
Roman's office was covered in decorations of mythical creatures and outfit designs. In the center es a desk with two large and comfy looking chairs in front and behind it. Virgil sat down in the one in front, watching as Roman made his way to the opposite one.
"So, first things, you seem to be more into comfort yes? Overly large sweaters, t-shirts, sweatpants, that kind of thing?" Virgil nodded.
"Anything you absolutely wont do? Any aversions to skirts? Dresses?" Roman continued.
"As long as it's not form fitting and you cant see anything on my chest or below my waist I dont care," Virgil replied. Roman nodded and wrote something down.
Virgil had been at the job for about two months when he noticed the changes. He'd already known that he thought Roman was hot, but now Roman seemed to want to be around him more as well.
They went out for ice cream after photo shoots, Roman came with Virgil to pick out a new house, if Virgil needed a break Roman would let Patton watch Olivia so they two of them could have spa days.
Virgil had been suppressing it for a while, he didnt want to believe he was falling in love again, or that a boy was falling in love with him. He was afraid, afraid Roman would become the new Erin. But fate seemed to have other plans.
They were relaxing in a hot tub, Virgil's back pressed up against one of the jets, head resting on the outer rim.
"Virgil, I've been planning on this for a while, and I think now might be the best time to tell you," Roman spoke softly, but Virgil could still feel his limbs tense.
"You can say no if you want, I wont mind, but I think- I think I want to go on a date with you, like an official one," Virgil looked up, clutching the edge of the 'seat'.
"Well- I uh- I mean you're very nice but I-" Virgil could feel tears forming in his eyes.
"Oh no no Virgil- dont cry- I understand, you dont have to, we can just be friends," Roman pushed Virgil's hair out of his face, worried evident in his eyes.
"I-I do want to be more than friends- but I-" Roman's eyes widened suddenly, his hand instinctively moving to Virgil's side, his thumb brushing against Virgil's stomach.
"I wont, I swear, you have my permission to chuck me off a building if I do," Roman said, earning a laugh from Virgil.
Virgil wrapped his arms around Roman's neck, pressing their foreheads together and smiling.
"Then yes, I will date you," and Roman pulled Virgil into a kiss that would only be rivaled by the one they shared ten years later, with Olivia by Virgil's side, and her girlfriend by Roman's, as Virgil finally realized he'd found the man who would keep him and his daughter safe for as long as the family lived.

every multiple of six for the dev questions! (sorry i am mobile rn so couldnt copy n paste a string)
30 uncommon character development questions ( send me a number )
6. If you were to pick one song — and only one song — to describe your character, what would it be and why?
Personal Jesus, preferably the original by Depache Mode or cover by Marilyn Manson. It perfectly embodies Alrik’s god-complex and skill with manipulation. Johnny Cash’s version is much too country gospel and I’m not the biggest fan of Mindless Self Indulgence, so those two covers are a no-sell.
12. Describe 5 unusual characteristics your muse has.
Though Alrik can still get inebriated, it takes far more for him to become incapacitated than most due to numerous artificial internal organs slowing the process down.
Alrik usually has no discretion when choosing a victim, but he makes it a point not to harm children unless he has absolutely no other option...and even then, he’ll do what he can to create a third option.
His right-hand thumb has a lighter built into it. Usually for lighting cigarettes, otherwise useful in a pinch for a variety of reasons.
His mouth is partially damaged, leaving some of his teeth constantly exposed and causing him to speak in a lateral lisp. He’s managed some control over it but the extent of his injuries makes it noticeable.
He may or may not be missing his right nipple. You didn’t hear that from me.
18.  Are they a leader, do they prefer to follow, or would they rather just stay on the sidelines altogether?
For better or worse, Alrik is a natural born leader. He knows exactly what to say to convince and inspire others and has little issue inviting them to join his cause. He communicates enough that his followers believe he is honest, and entrusts what he cannot do to those who can under his direction. Unfortunately, he also uses fear tactics to ensure loyalty within his ranks, which leaves them afraid of him at best and secretly loathing him at worst, neither of which helping his rampant paranoia.
24.  Does your character have any enemies? If so, who and why?
An easier question would be “who isn’t Alrik’s enemy.” As one of the main antagonists of Plague of Tiveden and given the nature of his crimes, Alrik has many people screaming for someone to do something about him. There are even a few spies who made their way into his ranks, but he snuffs them out as soon as he finds them, making infiltration difficult. His main enemy is anti-hero protagonist Riley Hawthorne, but he’s unaware of the danger they present to him and even considers them among his greatest achievements.
30.  Finally; if your character was forced to eat one thing for the rest of their life, what would they choose and why?
Crab toast skagen. He prefers crabs to prawn and there’s enough on the plate to fill him up for a few hours, not to mention enough variety in the dish for him not to tire of it as quickly.

FLIX FROM THE NET
Bird Box, 2018 (dir. Susanne Bier)
SPOILER WARNING THERE WILL BE SPOILERS DONT READ IF U HAVENT SEEN IT YET AND WANT TO
[TW: SUICIDE, MURDER, VIOLENCE, BLOOD, GORE]
well fuck its been a while!!  happy new year y’all hope u had a Fun and Safe time!!!  i for one was at a party where we started playing Shrek at exactly 10:39 PM to see if Smash Mouth’s hit song I’m a Believer started playing right at midnight and to my utter disbelief and elation it did!!!  move over times square ball drop a new arbitrary way of celebrating the start of a new calendar year is here and it involves a large green monster with a scottish accent who really loves his onions (#me am i right ladies)
WELL ANYWAY heres a fun new series ive been thinking of starting cause ya girl watches a lot of netflix movies and has many opinions about them.  i think i’ll do a separate post about the whole Netflix Original Film trend in general and how its changed the film industry at a later date but since i just watched the above movie not too long ago i wanted to get all my thoughts out there right fuckin now!!
netflix is without a doubt the OG king of streaming services, they were really the first to get the ball rolling and then dozens of other companies scrambled to latch onto this money train while it was rolling on the tracks full steam (or should i say.... stream EL;KGHS;EKFSH; please end me) ahead.  it started out as a rental subscription service where u could pick out three movies at a time to rent and then they were sent to u in the mail (like blockbuster but now you never have to leave your house ever again to get that sweet sweet rental content).  and then the decision was made to actually start online streaming, no physical DVD’s required!  ISNT TECHNOLOGY GREAT
well whoooo boy this shit swept the nation, people couldnt get enough of such a convenient and relatively affordable service and netflix started really raking in the dough.  and at some point they got rich enough to say “hey fuck it!!!  lets make our own movies baby!!!!”  and here we are now with Netflix Original Movies and TV Shows, which means a new player has entered the movie game in a very novel and innovative way.  why pay money for a movie ticket and leave your house to go to a theater when cool new movies are being released on a subscription service u already own to watch movies you already know and enjoy?  and then u can sit butt-ass naked in ur bedroom alone stuffing ur face with cheese puffs like an insatiable cheddar beast and see something new and fun and interesting
ok so.  Bird Box.  here we have a movie based off of a book (so i guess this also counts as a Book Movies review but I DIGRESS) starring hollywood powerhouse sandra bullock, featuring Supreme Lesbian Overlord Sarah Paulson and Resident Crazy Old Man John Malkovich, directed by a relatively unknown but competent female filmmaker Susanne Bier (who also directed Things We Lost in the Fire in 2007, a moving drama starring Halle Berry).  this one definitely has a lot of proimse compared to what netflix has offered so far in terms of their original movies (im gonna get into Dumplin’ at a later date cause jesus christ what a mess) and i went in with pretty high expectations
did it deliver???  well uuhhhh yeah sort of i guess!!  we got some pretty strong performances from our leading lady bullock who really does deliver it every time, a few strong supporting roles like newcomer Trevante Rhodes of Moonlight fame (his energy on screen is just so compelling and soothing), not overly obnoxious child actors which is really all u can ask for, and overall a solid story.
now heres where i gotta say that i couldnt help comparing this film to another movie of its kind, directed by the notorious M. Night Shyamalan.  y’all remember The Happening?  cause i remember The Happening.  i remember that it was total shit and that the twist was that it was the fucking plants making everyone kill themselves.  the PLANTS.  and i also remember mark wahlbergs dumb-ass confused face that he used in every single shot no matter the context, im AMAZED i remember zoe deschanel in this movie cause she may as well have been one of the killer plants with how little she emoted, and i remember mark wahlberg yelling at a fake office ficus and apparently i was supposed to be scared while watching this clusterfuck.
the way that this movie was described to me by friends who had seen it before me was basically that Bird Box is a slightly better The Happening, and no truer words have ever been spoken.  we basically have the same premise going on here:  unknown force is causing people to off themselves, our lead(s) have to try and find a way to escape this unknown force without even knowing what it really is, and theres some sort of “sanctuary” they gotta try and get to (which is a common plot point in really all apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic films).  now whereas The Happening’s rules for this scenario make entirely no fucking sense (how in the fuck are u supposed to be able to out-run WIND???), Bird Box has some rules for dealing with this Unknown Thing that make slightly more sense.  when u open ur eyes while outside, the chance of the Thing making u kill urself in some horrific way is extremely high, so wear a blindfold when ur outside and keep all windows covered when ur inside.  makes sense!  thats something i can believe and get behind which makes me more immersed in the story!
unfortunately like The Happening there are still some little things that kinda dont make much sense and take u out of it.  apparently some people when they see this unknown entity dont wanna die, but instead find it absolutely beautiful, which makes them want to make everyone else look at it to see how beautiful it is.  and its insinuated that these people are mentally ill or have some sort of psychiatric issue.  i get that this adds more stakes to the situation and ups the ante, but it doesnt really sit well with me that once again, mentally ill people are the villains in a horror-type story.  and i also dont really understand why theyd then wanna go around and make other people see the thing??  unless the thing has them in a mind-control state or something and is making them do its bidding but that seems kind of a weird thing for an all-powerful evil formless entity to do.
and that leads me to the next issue i have with Bird Box.  if ur gonna have an apocalyptic scenario where people do something as serious as kill themselves due to an unknown cause, it almost seems a little cliche and cheesy to have it be some sort of mythical celestial god-like or demon-like entity thats doing the damage.  i actually really liked where The Happening was going with its source of all the chaos being something naturally made, like the Earth deploying some sort of self-preservation mechanism or something.  the idea of that to me is actually loads more frightening than some invisible boogeyman that u cant look at.  and then Shamalamadingdong had to go and make it stupid by saying that it was fucking plants trying to kill people by releasing pheromones or some shit.  like why cant we have the best of both of these??  something naturally-occuring that maybe has even happened before in the planets history (maybe it wasnt a meteor that killed off the dinosaurs after all??), that isnt FUCKING PLANTS, and that doesnt do cheesy shit like make ur eyes turn grey and bloodshot and like whisper to u telling u to take ur blindfold off (i swear that happens multiple times it was pretty silly)
thats another thing, this movie’s tone is all over the place.  there are some moments where a more light-hearted tone is needed to break up the tension, for sure, but it almost as if the writing and dialogue werent really taking this serious of a story as seriously as they should have.  weirdly placed jokes are all over the place, there were some moments where the dialogue made me cringe cause it was so awkward.  bullock’s character gets to have some good breakdown moments which help bring the tone to the level of somberness and despair it should be at, but all the other supporting characters dont really get the same space to process whats happening to them, so it kinda comes off like they arent really affected by, say, their wife throwing herself into a burning car right in front of their very eyes.
overall i’d still say this is a worthwhile watch, especially considering its a netflix movie.  if you’ve ever wanted to see a not-as-horrible version of The Happening that has some deeper metaphorical stuff going on about motherhood and family and shit than this is for you.  the production value is overall pretty solid (though when it comes to cinematography i actually prefer The Happening from an artistic standpoint) and sandra bullock knocks it out of the park.  go check it out if this seems like something thats up ur alley!!
ok bye for now hopefully it doesnt take me six months to write another review but we’ll see!!  my brain is a mystery and time is an illusion HAPPY 20-BI-TEEN Y’ALL

UNDERBORDER Chapter.1
I remember it all like it was just yesterday. So clear, so...normal. It was an easy morning, the snow was light that day. All around me, the Border began to lighten up, signifying to us, monsters, that it the day had just begun. Around me, the town was quiet and was just beginning to stir awake. The library was empty when I unlocked it, but not opening it just yet to the public. There were books that still needed to be correctly organized before I had the townspeople come in. Back then, I was a young adult, just looking for a job, but with time, I grew into the job I had, slowly learning to love it. I guess I just decided that the quiet life was best for me. Especially with my brother, Papyrus, working with the Royal Guard, and in his position, the income wouldn't be a problem. Now, with my credentials, I was qualified to work along side with Dr. Alphys, but that would've been a very demanding career. The only reason I ever geared myself into something as rigorous as that was to help support Papyrus through his journey towards his dream. It wasn't the kind of job for me. But even though I set myself as the local librarian, Dr. Alphys tended to come ask for me to help assist her for many different things. They were normally minor tasks, like reading over her work, or giving a second opinion, but it would be what she showed to me a couple nights before that signaled the first warning of something drastic. "Sans!" She would yell before barging into the library. It was closing time, and I had just sent the last couple of monsters out. I felt myself turn towards her, surprise beginning to bite at my chest. Her glasses were titled, probably from her frantic rush to get here, and her science coat appeared worn, which was out of character for a monster like herself. She was normally much more organized than how she appeared then. She also had an armful of large notes and diagrams, with smaller papers fluttering off to the wooden floors. "Dr. Alphys!" I blinked and chuckled lightly from her arrival, rearranging my thin glasses as I did so. "I didn't expect to see you anytime soon. Did you send me a-" "Now isn't the time for nice, little greetings and small talk, Sans!" She snapped as she ran up to the front desk, dropping all of her papers and notes. I flinched at her tone. "What's the big deal then, Doc?" I felt a light grin poke itself along my face, trying to lighten the mood. I watched as she began to mumble to herself, swiftly moving papers from place to place, as if trying to organize them to her own style of thinking. Her face grew pale, almost as if she forgot something and before I knew it, she had her hands pressed against her face. "Oh no, not again. Come on, Alphys. Think!" She scolded herself, now lightly knocking herself in the head. "I-if the virus came into my computer just two days ago, a-and I compared the code of it to the evidence at the- AHH!" She flung her papers across the table, causing them to fly and slowly glide to the floor. I, again, flinched at her aggression. It wasn't like her to be so frustrated and hard on herself. Normally, she's very patient with her work. "Doc-" Her stare jerked towards mine, now filled with frustration and anger. "Let me think!" I only nodded, now starting to crouch down and pick up her scattered notes and papers. On them, I saw plenty of numbers, which I quickly recognized as computer codes, but they were foreign to my sight. Shuffling them together in a somewhat neat stack, I placed them on the table, only to see them fall back apart. Alphys had worked to scramble them around yet again, now only quicker than before. "O-okay, Alphys. Think." Sweat began to drip down her face, now making her yellowish-scales glisten under the lights. "If the virus c-could spread through t-the walls of the Bor-" She stopped, now her face curving into a smile of relief. With that, she took in a deep breath and turned to me, her eyes now filled with her usual, stern expression. "Sans. There's something wrong with the Border." It didn't take long until all of the townspeople were aware of it, but with all of the small talk going around, everyone couldnt be sure of whether it was real or not. At least, everyone but Papyrus and myself. Now, of course, Dr. Alphys brought her discovery, or really, it was just a theory, to the King. King Asgore. Now, the King was a very fair king. He ruled accordingly, and played the role he had to play, which was a very stressful and dramatic role. To keep all of the other AUs from falling out of line. Or in other words, stable. See, our "universe" is quite similar to other universes, being that we all are all alternates of Undertale, the original universe. But, what makes us different is that, all of us monsters live and work together to keep our world in tact, as well as keeping the other worlds stable. We, as a population, are all aware that there are multiple universes out there, with different versions of ourselves, but only the Royal Guard and the King and Queen know the exact universes. All together, we make up our world. The Border. Now, why we're called the Border is quite simple. The general population was aware of the existence of Ink, Error, Nightmare, Dream Sans, and all other entities that live outside of the universes. They were like gods to us. But the Border works to keep the natures of their worlds apart, after all, if, for example, the world of Error meshed into Ink's, it would send everyone into utter chaos and destruction, including the AUs. We could not allow that to happen under any circumstance. But there is one acception to that rule and that it the original Undertale Universe. That particular universe is where all AUs, including the Border, have originated from, making that world, truly stable. The King likes to watch that universe as an example for what a stable universe should look like. But, back to the point, Dr. Alphys had showed her work to King Asgore, and the two had many, long discussions behind the threat. Over the course of two days, it became evident that he was becoming more and more paranoid about the safety of the Border. He would put up thicker walls around the population, and place more and more guards around civilizations by the hour. Of course, he didn't have a problem with finding the resources, after all, he had the gift of the Imprint. The Imprint was a small mark, normally given to two individuals, that allowed them to "create" and "destroy" within the Border. This would make them much like gods compared to the rest of us but, they were still mortal. They could still be killed. In order to inherit the Imprint, you would have to be, most importantly, just and fair at heart. The Border, though inanimate, is a very strong presence that can very well think it's own and chose who will protect it. And because of all of the monsters that live within it, the Border had quite the selection. Secondly, you would have to be capable of even handling the Imprint, physically capable. You couldn't have any diseases, or a lack of physical fitness. Finally, it is always most preferred if you were of royal blood. Why? No one really knows, but I personally believe it's because the Border doesn't want a shift in power among the population. That would cause a lot of termoil among our peaceful little world, and possibly lead to the end of us. Possibly. Anyways, Asgore wasn't the only one with the Imprint. Queen Toriel was gifted with the power as well, giving our world a second line of protection from the outside, as well as being a second voice as to what would happen around the Border. I sighed as I finished placing all of the newly checked in books in their proper places on the bookshelf. Upon habit, I stuffed my right hand into my pocket and started to the library door to unlock it. Snatching the keys from the front desk, I stuck the metal into the keyhole, twisting it, and heard that familiar 'click', signalling that it was unlocked and now free to the public. It would be awhile before anyone came into the library...and I guess I should have enjoyed that time... When everything was all, still so normal. -------editor's notes--------- Me and my team want to thank you for tbe support! We really appreciate you guys!
