I fixed up Al’s theme, added and got rid of some pages, and I’ll spend the rest of the day fixing his relationships page. I guess you can say I’m back with a bit of muse to spare. Howdy. Been a minute, huh?

I’ve straight up neglected this blog, for which I wholeheartedly apologize. Life got in the way, hell-brain was scared to return, all that jazz. I’m in a better place than I was before, so I decided to step back on here and see how everyone’s doing.

Gonna make myself a new promo image at some point and rewrite some things in Al’s story, but not much has changed with him. He’s still an asshole, he still wants to take over the world, the only difference is I have a better idea of his “final form” so to speak. I’m also gonna go ahead and delete the threads I currently have and make a new starter call later today or tomorrow, since it’s been over half a year now.

I really missed writing this dickhead. <3 Missed you guys, too.

Al's villainy in general is quite fun to explore. He wasn't abused by his family growing up (his birth father was absent, but he always had his mother, and his step-father was a pretty chill dude) and he gave as good as he got when it came to his bullies, especially with Elias' support. He didn't want for anything materialistically, he was a respected member of the Swedish Army, and he was always considered attractive enough to find a partner, both before and after his injuries...even if his heart already belonged to someone he couldn't have. There were warning signs that he would grow into evil when he was a child, but they largely went ignored until it was already too late.

He's not angry because his mother was abusive; she was the farthest thing from, and he loved her dearly. He's not even angry because his sexuality was incompatible with his friend's; he supported Elias throughout the majority of their lives, even playing the role of best man at his wedding.

No, Al's angry because he "did everything right"...and he lost the two people he loved most anyway. Because being a good person did not give him the rewards he felt he deserved. That is his Freudian excuse, and I know for a fact I don't need to remind my followers that a Freudian excuse is NO excuse.

Deep down, Alrik is one of the most selfish, cowardly people you'll ever meet. It's part of what makes him so dangerous.

i don’t know if anyone else has had this problem, but i’ve come across at least two people who were into romantic RP strictly to find a s/o. this isn’t the problem in and of itself; the problem was that they immediately condemned me as a cheater strictly because i’m multiship. they claimed that they couldn’t see why anyone would want to write romance with someone they didn’t plan to approach for a date OOC.

i understand if that’s a boundary you want to set for a relationship you’re already part of, but...dude. it’s tumblr RP, not okcupid. you feel me? just because someone’s comfortable writing romance between fictional characters with you, that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re interested in you romantically.

sorry i was gone for so long! this blog has been running on queue for a hot minute and i know that shit had to be getting old fast. i’d rather not go into the details, but i had to spend a few days in psychiatric care. i’m doing much better now and i’m ready to tackle replies!

this blog has been running predominantly on queue these past few days, for which i apologize. my mental health has hit another low point: i haven’t felt up to much except sleeping whenever i’m not at work.

thankfully the drabble is almost finished, and i’m hoping i’ll complete it at some point tomorrow. i’ll throw out some crack and one liners just to keep good ol’ al from going completely dormant.

that said, expect even less activity from me on thursday since that’s my husband’s birthday!  💚
