Crocodile really is The Character of all time.

He's first introduced as a terrifying villain in the shadows who's killing an entire country of thirst and orchestrating a civil war while posing as their hero. He runs a vast criminal organization while having immunity from the government. He's viciously cunning and dreadfully powerful. The first time Luffy fights him, he never even touches him and very nearly gets killed. It takes him THREE times to finally beat him, and hardly. Just by the events in the Arabasta saga, Crocodile would've gone down as an amazing character and villain.

But then.

But then, like eight arcs after Arabasta, Luffy breaks into Impel Down, where Crocodile happens to be imprisoned. And he just. First he says HISASHIBURI DANA MUGIWARA in an incredibly deep and sexy voice that has me giggling and twirling my hair. Then he gets blackmailed by IVANKOV who knows A PERSONAL SECRET OF HIS and we're all looking at him like

AND THEN Crocodile joins Luffy to break out of prison and go to war, but not before taking a detour through Newkama Land because god forbid Crocodile showed up at Marineford wearing dirty prisoner rags. On their way out they meet Blackbeard, who starts rambling about his evil plan and Crocodile is like "who" and Blackbeard says "me" and Crocodile replies "no, who asked you" and moves on because he really couldn't care less about that mf.

And then. And then.

They arrive at Marineford. And Crocodile PEAKS at Marineford.

He shows up in this huge battlefield and he hates EVERY SINGLE PERSON on it. Fuck you, Whitebeard. Fuck you, Doflamingo. Fuck you, Sengoku. Fuck you, Mihawk. Fuck you, Akainu. He's completely unhinged. An agent of chaos. And if he ends up picking a side, he does it because FUCK COPS THAT'S WHY and isn't that the noblest of reasons.

And then he comes back over a decade of publication later to create a bdsm gay polycule with a sex dungeon along with a misanthropic swordsman and a clown.

Not to mention he's also Luffy's mother

I think I heard the mugiwara in clips somewhere and that was nice, but I’m excited to see more of cross guild animated cause the dynamic… oof

Just finished another episode and got very excited to see Benn/Shanks/Marco. I actually rewatched that part after having to see a certain bastard at the end <3

I mean, I reccommend going back and watching the Crocodile highlights from Impel Down, personally. I think it's well worth the auditory feast.

And yeah, Shanks/Marco - I'm not much of a shipper - I appreciate who people ship and I've enjoyed a lot of pairings and art and such, but I don't have like any strong personal opinions.

But man, Shanks and Marco... yeah, I could spend time as a fly on a wall with that to entertain me, 100%.

The Cross guild dynamic too. I love the art and theories I've seen from that. Plus, I mean, the idea of Buggy being in the middle of that polycule delights me. Damn clown always failing upward XD

I wanna know more about Kirin and Law

i have way too much lore for him but sdkfshg ig to start things off!

Kirin is a pirate captain and his crew is allied with the Hearts (they're more or less the same crew but just split off into two, the Hearts and Hiraishin are family ) - Kirin doesn't have a devil fruit but his mother is from a sky island of people who have electricity and/or wind abilities (his is electricity), a lot of people from that island have wings but since Kirin was born on the blue sea he doesn't (the wings are actually a kind of creature that attaches to a person's back and their people have done it when a kid reaches a certain age for generations, it's a whole thing)

He has a vague interest in finding the One Piece but wants to take his time instead of rushing like Luffy or Kidd, he also wants to help find the truth for his dad's sake - if it was up to Kirin he would lay low and get by in the shadows of bigger figures but he's been made a "big name" as well after Marineford and it's been hard to pretend like he's a nobody since then lol

Timeline-wise he appears on Sabaody with all the other Worst Gen for the first time and then on level 5.5 in Impel Down (he was captured on Sabaody to help his own crew escape from the admirals and then taken to 5.5 by the people there) From there he follows the prison break to Marineford, fights Hina and Mihawk briefly and then gets his leg severed by Doflamingo

The next time he shows up is post-Dressrosa climbing up the side of Barto's boat because Law went no contact for 6 months (because they didn't want Kirin and co to get involved with their thing with Law's Dressrosa plans/getting hurt because of them) and when Kirin saw them in the papers with Luffy's alliance he had to track them down - there's angst during Zou when Kirin doesn't talk to them/the Heart pirates and spends time around the Mugiwara crew instead because he's hurt, but by the end of that arc he reconciles with the Hearts and does so with Law on their way to Wano where Kirin's crew is waiting

The story I have now is that one of Kirin's crew members used to work in a tattoo shop with one of Law's crew members and was the one to give Law his bigger tats, something happened to their workplace and Law offered to take them both in (Izzy agreed to travel with them for a while because Hake was his friend but not to join the crew) Kirin's crew runs into them and Izzy joins him instead because they're all childhood friends and grew up on the same ship, Law is fine with that but doesn't really trust Kirin because it's another pirate crew even if they seem friendly

From there the crews keep running into each other even though Law insists they shouldn't get too buddy-buddy (the crews end up befriending each other quickly while Law remained grumpy about it) and with lots of shared hardship and helping each other when trouble appeared (Law said that whenever their crew helped it was only to 'pay the debt back' to Kirin's but it just kept on happening lol) And eventually before Law realized it they were all close friends, two years after meeting Kirin as well they also realized that they might have caught feelings for him and were NOT happy about it (falling in love, the vulnerability of it all, uuuu 🥺) Kirin was already dating his other partner Reijiat that time but they end up as a polycule anyway because he has two hands They met each other for the first time five years ago from the present!
