Luffy is aroace and nonbinary and just uses any pronouns because. Just look at him, please. He wouldn't know what's gender or romantic or sexual attraction even if they slapped him in the face. Nami is, as quoted by a person whose username I forgot (I'm sorry if you read this just tell me it's you and I'll add your url): the lesbianest of lesbians in the story of lesbianism for lesbians by lesbians. And she obviously has her princess girlfriend, Vivi.

Usopp seems to be straight, but, in fact, they only felt attraction towards Kaya and also are 100% nonbinary, just like Luffy. Very he/they vibes.

Sanji is bisexualest person alive. And also transfem bigender, no, I accept no criticism, the absolute she/he.

Chopper does not know what is gender, because, for gods' sake, he's a reindeer. Obviously he doesn't care which pronouns you use to him.

Robin? Bisexual and trans queen. Look at her. Look at her backstory. She is so queer coded, guys, you don't know. She is also dating Franky, they are the absolute t4t couple.

Franky is straight with the biggest ever love for Robin and also trans, he modified his body to be a super-man like.

Brook is way too nonbinary for me to say it. Just look at them. Your they/them lovely grandpa.

Jinbei is, too, super aroace and I don't take criticism. Just look at him, he's got the vibes.

Vivi is, as before stated, a lesbian. That is pretty obvious, though.

Yamato is canonically trans, bitches (affectionate). And also very Gay. Definitely in some sort of relationship with Ace.

Bonney is transfem demigirl, trust me, Oda told me himself, and she came out first to her dad.

Law is transmasc nonbinary, the absolute they/he, they just got that vibe. And also very aroace, wouldn't know what the fuck is attraction even if it slapped him in the face (just like Luffy, that's why they are BFFs)

It just irks me when in the OP fandom people start speculating who’s going to be the new Strawhat, when there’s still so much focus needed on the other ones. Like, we don’t have time for a new member when the other ones (other than the monster trio) aren’t given enough time and focus.

This wouldn’t be such a big problem if there wasn’t the big debate on who is more “useless” pre time-skip or post time-skip. Or “the Strawhats are a yonko crew, and they should all have haki by now.”

Adding on to that, the recency bias doesn’t help the whole matter either. The same ones who push for a new Strawhat member also criticize the Strawhats as a whole because of the non-monster trio members having not unlocked any haki, or because some can’t 1v1 an adversary. Usopp has haki but those naysayers say it “doesn’t count”.

It’s all nonsense, of course, but admittedly it gets to me.

So, why do we need one more Strawhat?

Okay, I have one reason Bonney can't join the straw hats and it's because the Revs are literally her extended family that she never met; especially Ivankov.

Ivankov is literally Ginny's (half????? step?????)sibling. Ve's alive and well—and yet—Bonney has never MET VER....

I present to you: Straw Hats beating the shit out of transphobics and terfs and transmeds.

They got Luffy who doesn't care about pronouns. They got Zoro who doesn't do top surgery and walks with his tits off. They got Usopp who always asks people's pronouns when meeting them. They got Sanji who is transfem bigender and doesn't shave legs or face. They got Chopper who doesn't get gender as a kid. They got Robin who is an older trans woman with lots of experience. They got Franky who went so hard on HRT he grew 50 cm. They got Brook who lived too long to care about gender. They got Yamato who doesn't care to pass in practically any way. They got Bonney who found out she was trans as a kid. They got Law who only tells he's trans to very close people.

And they obviously got Nami, Vivi and Jinbei, the trans supportive trio, who'll beat your ass if you are transphobic.
