unless i actively have nothing better to do than jump around to music, no. i have to be hearing something that doesn't feel like a waste of time while also doing something with my hands that doesn't feel like a waste of time. so all the times people might have music on in the background (while drawing, cleaning, cooking) i have on podcasts. idk when music started feeling like a waste of time to me- it just does now.

THATS NOT TO SAY IT IS A WASTE OF TIME BTW. it just feels like that for some reason. im like. im over here listening to a song ive heard a thousand times before when i could be listening to smth interesting and new.... but then again sometimes i listen to my comfort videos 100 times😭 idk my brain got so weird abt music

Adrianne Lenker is the guitarist and singer for the Brooklyn, N.Y.-based rock band Big Thief. The song "Not" starts with a really insistent churning feel. And when she's singing, she's tracing the outline of the absence of something. A lot of the lyrics start with the phrase, "It's not." Then about halfway through the song, it cracks open into a huge guitar solo.   "Adrianne Lenker is a trained guitarist," Lorusso says. "She studied at Berklee College of Music and you can hear that she has that kind of technical guitar ability but she wants you to feel what she is feeling when she plays that solo. I think it's the same in the [Bartoli] piece. It's not just this incredible, virtuosic skill, but she's really communicating a depth of emotional feeling in her performance."
