Rode the MRT3 elevator in Kamuning this morning, half-expecting that when the doors opened, it would be the dimly lit lobby of M1 Hotel in North Point, Hong Kong I'd see. I thought if I shut my eyes real tight and really concentrated then it would materialize.

But, alas, no such thing as teleportation in the real world. The doors opened and the usual noise and exhaust smell of EDSA, dark yet already busy at 5:45 a.m., greeted me. It crushed my heart.

Such was my longing for another fun vacation with the family.

METRO MANILA

Ang kapital nga dakbayan sa Pilipinas, Metro Manila, nahimutang sa pulo sa Luzon. Uban sa gibanabana nga populasyon nga kapin sa 12 ka milyon, kini usa sa labing kadaghan nga populasyon ug daghang mga lungsod sa kalibutan. Ang siyudad, nga gilangkoban sa 16 ka siyudad ug usa ka munisipyo, nagsilbi nga sentro sa politika, ekonomiya, edukasyon, ug kultura sa nasod.

Ang Manila Baywalk, Rizal Monument, Intramuros, ug ang inila nga Manila Ocean Park pipila lang sa mga iladong monumento ug atraksyon sa siyudad. Sa kadaghan sa mga bar ug club nga mapilian, ang Metro Manila usab adunay usa ka mauswagon nga nightlife.

Ang siyudad ilado usab sa mga malamboong shopping area, sama sa sikat nga Greenhills Shopping Center ug ang kinadak-ang flea market sa siyudad, ang Divisoria. Usa ka lig-on nga network sa transportasyon sa publiko, lakip ang mga bus, jeepney, ug ang Metro Rail Transit, nagsilbi sa Metro Manila (MRT).

Ang Metro Manila usa gihapon ka tilinguhaong destinasyon alang sa mga biyahedor sa kalingawan ug negosyo bisan pa sa grabeng trapiko ug polusyon niini. Naghatag ang syudad og lain-laing mga kasinatian, lakip ang usa ka mauswagon nga nightlife ug mga landmark sa kasaysayan ug kultura. Uban sa kombinasyon sa mga kontemporaryo ug vintage nga mga atraksyon.
