Sally Face HC’s (Thanksgiving Edition!) 

A/N: Hey everybody! I know this is a late post so 😭. But anyways, I hope everyone had a great holiday these past days if you celebrate it! If not, hope you had a great week <3.

I feel like any holidays in the apartments usually go unnoticed at first, however that is until one special year!! 

This year Sal, Lisa, Larry and the gang decided to put a Thanksgiving event together!! 

In order to get this together they decided to wrap around the table and figured out the main details (In the messy handwriting of Larry until Lisa takes over halfway):

The event will be held down in the basement (Larrys and Lisa's apartment) 

They’ll have an “adults” and “kids table”. (Adults versus the teenagers plus Soda). 

A sign up sheet for food! 

Since Lisa and Larry were hosting Thanksgiving, they decided to bring the essentials (forks, spoons, etc) and dessert! 

After brewing up the plan together, Sal and Larry went up together around the apartments to see who would show up and if they had any food to offer.  

Mostly everybody in the apartments came down for Thanksgiving! However Mrs. Rosenberg and Mr.Addison (as expected) did not arrive. 

He did give tea for the occasion however!  

Thanksgiving comes around and everybody has a fun time! All dressed up in the festive mood with flannel tablecloths and cut out leaves Ashley helped set up before <3. 

For Soda, our main guys sit with her and end up coloring around the small table. I feel like they would show her hand turkeys and those: “Im thankful for __” cards. 

However, without them seeing each other's cards they all ended up making their card for eachother <3.  

After the whole event, Larry and Sal sneak out and go spend the rest of Thanksgiving with Megan.

Sally Face x DBD concept (The Plague of Shadows)

The Addison Apartments have a long and sad history. Every person who dies in the apartments is condemned to wander the place where they died for eternity. The demon who calls itself God tortures every poor soul trapped within the walls, using them as a means to gain enough power to kill the entire world.

In 1991, Sal Fisher moves to Nockfell with his father for one reason or another, inadvertently thwarting the Red-Eyed Demon's plans. The young man befriends some of the spirits and learns more about the possibility of what happened from a young girl named Megan. He gets fully involved when he goes to room 504 and finds a strange hole, crawls inside and meets Red-Eyes for the first time.

Sal, Larry, Ashley and Todd become involved with the cult that worships the Red-Eyes. They find the temple underneath the apartments and realize that the reason why everyone in town is strange is because of the cult. They also find that the bologna for school is made from human flesh and that the math teacher, Mrs. Packerton, is a part of the cult, as are many others.

After disappearing for years, the red-eyed demon returns, and before he can continue his reign of terror, the demon, Sal, and Larry are taken into the Fog by The Entity to play its sick game… and the Red-Eyed Demon is all too happy to play.

Killer: Red-Eyed Demon / The Plague of Shadows

Sal's overview:

Character Bio: Sal Fisher has always been adventurous and kind, but time has made him jaded and distrustful of others. Still, he lends a helping hand to his friends and ghosts alike.

Years after the Red-Eyed Demon's disappearance, it seemed as if things were finally starting to calm down, only for things to suddenly heat up. With the sudden return of the Red-Eyed Demon and the return of the Devourers of God cult, Sal believed that Larry had killed himself after sending some terrifying messages. Sal ran back to the apartments, searching for Larry and desperately hoping he was joking.

Unaware that Larry was no longer in their realm, Sal found Larry's note and assumed he was dead. However, Rosenberg was able to reach into the Fog and pull Larry out just long enough to help Sal stop the cult. During the battle with the Endless One, Sal was engulfed by the fog and pulled into the Entity's realm.

When he awoke, he found himself near a strange cabin. He heard someone calling his name, apparently searching for him. When he finally makes his way to the voice, he's reunited with Larry, who reveals that the Entity took him before he could commit suicide. Now Sal finds himself with new people and a strange new mystery on his hands. With the help of Larry and his new team, Sal plans to uncover the secrets of the Entity and the reason the Black Veil exists. It almost feels normal.

Sal's perks allow him to trick and confuse the killer, as well as help his team wherever he can.

Role: The Spiritual Empath

Unique Perks:

The Forgotten Ballad - When a survivor is downed within 5/10/15 meters of you, you gain a 10/15/20% haste effect. Only after reviving the survivor does the effect persist for 10/15/20 seconds for both you and your teammate. Once it's over, the Exhaustion effect activates for 20 seconds. Shadow - After years of dealing with the supernatural, you've learned to work with the other side. When Shadow is active, you gain a 20/30/40% chance of not being detected by a killer's sense ability (if the killer has one), and crows are less likely to fly away in your presence. Shadow will not activate if you are wounded, affected by the Broken status, or if you are the last survivor. "Leave me and my five teeth alone." - Sal Fisher

Spiritual Empath - You have a unique connection to the supernatural and have learned how to hone it and use it to your advantage. When a generator reaches 40%, Spiritual Empath activates and you have the ability to call upon a spirit from the other side to create an audio and visual distraction. Larry's overview:

Character Bio: Larry Johnson has always been known for his rebellious nature. He loved to cause chaos and do whatever he wanted, whether it was considered legal or not. Stealing, graffiti, and pranks were just a few of his favorite things to do.

But he wasn't always so rebellious. Since his father disappeared, Larry found it difficult to live a normal life. He assumed that his father had been taken by some kind of curse, but he later found out that his father had legitimately disappeared.

As he grew older, he stopped getting involved in petty crime and instead began to focus on what he wanted. After living in the Addison Apartments for most of his life, he thought it was time to move on and move in with his best friend and brother, Sal… but all of that came to a halt when the Red-Eyed Demon began trying to connect with him. Scared of what would happen, and feeling that he wasn't as strong as Sal, he decided to try to take his own life to prevent the demon from taking him as a host.

But when he woke up, he wasn't a ghost and he definitely wasn't dead. He was in the woods, but it didn't look or feel like the woods around Wendigo Lake… it was darker, unwelcoming, and cold. He started walking and found the glow of a campfire. As he made his way toward the welcoming light, he found others like him, trapped. Now, with a second chance at life, he's determined to help his new team escape this strange new realm.

Larry's powers will help him protect his team at all costs and fight back against the evil that surrounds him.

Role: The Delinquent

Unique Perks:

Delinquency - You're known for your criminal record, and you're not afraid to get your hands dirty. After being hooked once, Delinquency will activate and the next time the killer comes near you, a skill check will appear and you can stun them for a few seconds by throwing a rock at them. Delinquency can only be used once per trial. "I tried to talk to that detective, but he wouldn't listen to me without evidence. As if my word isn't enough." - Larry Johnson

The Other Side - You may not be dead, but your connection to the Other Side is uncanny. You can see the aura of your allies within 7/13/20 meters of you, and if the Obsession is injured, you will see their aura no matter what. The Other Side will not activate if you are the Obsession in the trail. "Let's put an end to these fuckers." - Larry Johnson

Time To Go - You sacrifice yourself for those you love. When taking a protection hit after unhooking a survivor, you will not be affected. The next time you are hit, you will be put into the dying state. "It can't rain all the time." - Larry Johnson

Plague of Shadows overview:

Character Bio: A creature of unknown origin, the Red-Eyes is a creature that preys on the weak and fearful in order to feed… something. The reason why it does what it does is unknown, but one thing is certain; it wants to destroy all life.

The Red-Eyed Demon had destroyed Jim Johnson's planet with little to no regard, seeing them as simply in its way. The demon has also proven to be very cunning, manipulative, and obviously sadistic. The demon goes after weak people, people it can mold and use to get its way and cause more and more destruction.

The help of the Devourers of God had made it even stronger, but it quickly grew impatient and disgusted with humans, claiming that flesh "irritated" it. The demon is thwarted by Alyson Rosenburg, Stacy Holmes, Greg Montague, and Sandy Sanderson. In retaliation, the Red-Eyes take over another vessel to kill Mrs. Sanderson.

Sal and Henry Fisher move into the apartments, and the Red-Eyes becomes irritated with Sal's interference with the spirits in the Addison Apartments, using them as its vessel. When the teenager finds the ghost of Luke Holmes, the Red-Eyes reveals itself, but is banished by Larry Johnson. After regaining its strength, the Red-Eyed Demon is made an offer it can't refuse: an endless supply of victims to torture and terrorize in the world created by The Entity.

Now the Red-Eye is preying on a whole new collection of poor fools who can't escape, growing stronger and more restless as time goes on. It will achieve its goal of destruction. It will.

Title: The Plague of Shadows

Unique Perks:

Power - Spiritual Infection You have the ability to grasp what is beyond the reach of others. The more you wound the survivors, the greater your hold on them becomes. Spiritual Infection begins at the start of the trial and continues to grow with each hit you make on a survivor, filling the gauge 5% each time a basic attack lands.

Special Attack - Possession Possession allows the Plague of Shadows to temporarily take control of a ghost on the map to scout the map or deal extra damage to survivors. Possession initially lasts 10 seconds, but increases by an additional 3 seconds with each successful attack.

Healing Alters Survivors can cure themselves of the infection by healing alters scattered around the map. The alters will reset the infection to 0%.

Flesh and Blood - Your hatred of humanity drives you and teaches you things others cannot see. When activated, Flesh and Blood allows you to receive a visual and audio cue from one survivor within 3/8/15 yards of your Terror radius. Flesh and Blood has a 120 second cooldown.

Sick Tricks - You are cunning, manipulative, and all around twisted. You thrive on the discomfort and terror of others. When Sick Tricks is active, you can create a visual hallucination for the survivor of one of your victims, causing them to scream and reveal their location. Sick Tricks can only be activated 3 times per trial.

Scourge Hook: The Dark - You're not the only one who can cause harm. Four random hooks will become Scourge Hooks. When a survivor is unhooked from a Scourge Hook, the following effects apply: The survivor is affected by the Blindness and Broken status effects for 15/20/25 seconds. When healed, the survivor suffers from Exhaustion and Hindered for 7/10/13 seconds.

Sal took it in stride, shrugging. "Don't worry, man. I walk up to strangers and ask weird questions all the time." Given they were actively talking now, Sal moved to sit next to him on the bench. "My name is Sal Fisher, but my friends call me Sally Face. It's nice to meet you, Kid."

As for his question... Sal looked back down at the Super Gear Boy. Its screen was still flashing in shades of green, but he wasn't sure if he wanted to go through with it and shock Kid; not after what it did to Mrs. Rosenberg.

"I'm not totally sure how the Super Gear Boy works, but I guess I would, since it seems to be reacting to..." Glance. "...You're not a ghost, are you?"

Kid tilted his head as that light in his eyes returned. Oh, someone's curious now. The little Guy uncurled his body with a hum.

"Supernatural, huh?"

He trailed off as his eyes squinted.

"I know this might sound weird but...would you consider shaman stuff supernatural?"

Then again, the brew was still in his system so of course it was a good question. That's when he pushed the thought aside despite just asking it. He didn't even know this stranger and yet here he was getting friendly, something he couldn't help doing even when he's in his right mindset.

"Ugh, what am I doing? You don't even know me yet and here I am asking weird questions. This won't help much but my name's Kid."

Goodbye (Sally Face x Reader)

Sal sat huddled in his cell, hearing the footsteps echo down the corridor. He knew it was time, he knew those footsteps were for him. He wanted to be anywhere but here, he didn’t want to listen to his incoming death. So instead, his mind took him back to the start.

Not too long after Sal moved into Addison apartments, a new family moved in to Mrs Sanderson’s place. Mr Addison really had to cough up some coin to fix the place up to be remotely suitable for anyone to live there, so it was surprising to have new residents so soon. 

When you first met Lisa, she urged you to meet her son Larry and his friend Sal. She handed you a basement key card and told you she’d be sure to let the two boys know when she saw them. You thanked her politely, taking the card and stuffing it into your pocket. No more than two hours later, you bumped into Lisa again, still mopping the floor. She urged you to go down to the basement to meet the two boys. It didn’t seem like it would hurt so you did so. 

The boys were friendly enough but were definitely unique. Sal introduced himself as ‘Sally Face’. He had blue hair tied up in pigtails, a prosthetic mask on his face and wore ripped jeans. Larry was taller than Sally with very long brown hair, he was rather lanky and wore a band t-shirt. “Sanity Falls right?” You gestured to his shirt. Larry nodded. “Yeah man, you listen to ‘em too?” You shook your head. “Nah, my older brother does though. Haven’t heard it in ages since he moved out.” You smiled. It was the start of an amazing friendship. You were with them ever since, the group getting bigger and bigger. Your parents were fine with you spending most of your time with friends once they got to know each of their parents. Some nights you’d be at Larry’s with Sal and other nights you’d go to Todds, complaining your life was about to come to an end via homework. Todd would always laugh and help you out. 

When they told you about Megan, they expected the worst since they’d just finished showing Chug who ran away screaming almost immediately. You on the other hand, got really excited at the prospect of ghosts. Thinking back, it was probably better off that he never showed you Mrs Sanderson, the previous owner of your apartment. 

Sal thought back to school, when all of his friends were alive and things were easier.“I see it as two sides of a coin.” You grinned taking a seat beside Sal. “Life and Death. I totally believe in this stuff.” “Of course you do.” Maple rolled her eyes but smiled.  “It isn’t ghosts this time, (Y/N).” Larry looked over Sal’s head to look at you. “It’s the lunch meat.” “The lunch meat? The bologna? What’s wrong with it?” “Nothing! It’s great!” Chug chomped down another large bite.  “Have you tried it?” Ash asked from across the table and you shook your head.  “I get my lunch packed.” “That shit is weird man.” Larry shivered. “I’m sure it’s goats.” You made a face. Todd then began to go into a long explanation of bologna. “Ew! Todd, please don’t man. I’ve just finished eating.” You pleaded trying to keep your food down. “We’re going to investigate, you in (Y/N)?” Larry asked and you nodded. “Sure, i live to be a menace.” You grinned. 

After that, things weren’t really the same, Sal easily blamed the cult. It was then that Sal wished he had never complained about his life before. It was barely a week later when you didn’t show up for school. He didn’t think much of it, maybe you were sick. When they got home that day, they were proven entirely wrong. Larry, Sal and Todd saw your parents outside your door, police tape surrounding the area. Your father was silently consoling your mouth who sobbed hysterically. She caught eyes with the trio was sent her into more gut wrenching sobs.

That night, Henry and Lisa came into Larry’s room, somber and stating they’d need to speak to Larry and Sal. With Lisa’s words, the whole world changed. “(Y/N) was found this morning-” Lisa’s voice cracked and Henry took over. “I’m sorry boys, (Y/N) is gone.” Sal and Larry were silent for a moment before Larry said. “Gone where?” “They’ve passed Larry-bear.” Lisa wiped her eyes, catching the tears that threatened to fall. Sal and Larry looked at one another. Sal’s mind was rushing  whilst Larry’s was just blank both of the boys in complete shock. Sal felt like his mind was drowning. ‘What am i supposed to do with this? What am i supposed to do!?’ Sally found himself screaming mentally but his face didn’t show much emotion. Lisa saw the two struggling with this information, trying but failing to process it. She immediately reached out wrapping them both in a hug. They weren’t sure how many times she repeatedly apologised before herself and Henry left the room. “They never said...” Larry quietly trailed off. “Said what?” Sally mumbled back.  “They never said they were kidding, or that it’s just a trick.” Sally knew his best friend wanted to believe it was just a prank. It was better than facing the knowledge that you were dead. What was worse was stomaching that those imposters of Police were in there and involved. It was like a declaration of war, for your death was in no way an accident.

It was hard being at your funeral even though there was no where else the gang would rather be, knowing it was their opportunity to say goodbye. They didn’t want to use the Gear Boy in your apartment, they knew you were out there and that was enough closure they needed for this to be a proper goodbye. Going back to life was even harder, with the last few years being forced to acknowledge them empty chair in every single class and break. Your empty chair. So much life used to emit from it and now there was nothing but an empty chair- only their memory keeping it alive. After a while, things got a little better. It was that little bit easier to face the world and your memory was not in sadness but instead happiness. They felt joy when remembering all of the times you shared with the gang.

Larry felt cold, before he felt nothing at all. He sat up, looking around the tree house, looking at the collection of his whole life.It was just like you said, the other side of the coin. This world was dull in colour.  “Larry-face!” A familiar voice called. He turned around sharply and emotion rapidly built up when he saw who had come to greet him. The person who towered over him and the one person he didn’t think he needed to see more than anyone in the world. Losing Larry was the breaking point.  ‘Hey Sal, sorry dude. Please don’t blame yourself!’ ‘What are you talking about?’ ‘It’s time for me to go.’ ‘Stop messing around!’ Sal had lost so much in his life, losing Larry, you, Todd, his mother, safety...his sanity. All that remained was the memories of what he did have and what he had lost. The pain he felt was consuming, the rage was blinding all the while knowing he was the link to all of it. He had brought you to your death, to Larry’s death, Todd is gone. If only he had waited for his mother before seeing the dog. If only she were here to tell him that everything was okay, that he could come back from losing not only his best friend but his brother.

“I missed you so much...I can’t believe you’re here.” “Of course, I’m here.” You smiled at him.  “But how? How are you not stuck-” “Mrs Rosenberg is a sweetheart, its a shame i never got to know her better.” You smiled at Larry. “She helped you?” “Yeah, just like she’s going to help you.” You looked behind him, smiling which made him look over his shoulder. There Mrs Rosenberg stood, a soft smile on her peaceful face. “We gotta help Sally, Larry-Face.” You smiled, bringing his attention back to you.  “How?”  “Let yourself me known.” You smiled.  “What about you?” “My job is to give everyone time- as much as i can give them. Now, you ready to leave this tree house dude?”

Everything went by so quickly for Larry, he did what he could. He watched over his parents and Sal, Chug, Megan, Mr Addison, everyone. There was an odd fatalistic feeling in his gut when Ash climbed into the tree house. “It’s strange, everyone is older now. To think we’ll probably see Ash in her thirties some day.” “Yeah, its mad.” Larry said as Ash rushed around calling for Larry. When he finally appeared to her, she didn’t seem to see (Y/N) who had an arm leaning on his shoulder. “Larry hold still!” Ash said hurriedly before Larry was blinded by a light. “Shit, that’s bright!” Larry groaned before he was gone. Ashley rushed back to her bike before halting. Not only had Larry shown up but so had you, nonchalantly looking at the camera and leaning Larry’s shoulder. she held it to her chest before taking off running, thankful to have seen you were okay and with Larry.

The two guards hauled Sal up by each arm and walking him down the corridor. Sal tried to stay in his mind, his friends laughing in a chorus washing his mind.The memories were real. He did what was best. He saved everyone. He did what he had to do. He continued to chant to himself in his mind as he was walked into a white room with a chair in the middle. His arms and legs immediately being tied down. He did what was best. He saved everyone. He did what he had to do. He looked up as a man put his hand on the large switch. He looked up to see Ash’s tear stained face holding a polaroid to the glass. Ker-chunk! was the last noise Sal heard as the man pulled down the switch.

How does Larry know about Doctor Enon?

In the Sally Face universe, ghosts are bound to their place of death. Talking with the ghost of Mr. Sanderson confirms this. (Larry is only able to walk around the apartments as a spirit during Chapter 4 through the help of Rosenberg who temporarily releases him from his place of death)

It would be assumed that after Sally is taken away by the police after his purge, Larry would have to go back to the treehouse therefore severing any form of communication the two could have (I highly doubt telepathy is at play here)

If somehow this rule did not apply to Larry and he was able to go and talk with Sal in prison, he could have manifested into a spirit humans could see multiple times like during the trial or even during a therapy session which is why I don't believe Larry is an exception to the rule and how Larry knows about Dr. Enon.

Is it possible that Larry can see glimpses of the future like his father? This is revealed in one of the old diary pages.

What does Larry mean by the situation being deeper than they thought? He doesn't say "It's deeper than you think." to Doctor Enon. He says, "This shit is deeper than we thought."

What more did Larry learn about the situation? What else is there to know besides that the cult is the reason behind everything wrong in Addison Apartments?

I guess everything will be revealed in time. Very, very excited for Chapter 5!

1663, Citlali Grey spoke a prophecy bringing some members of the tribe together, forming the Devourers of God. When colonists arrived in Nockfell, a ceremonial marriage between Citlali and colonist Wesley Rosenberg united the groups, allowing the cult to grow.

Citlali’s final prophecy warned the Devourers of the Child of the Abomination, the one who would stand against them, and his resurrection by Asintmah.

1887 Alyson Rosenberg sells her family's land to the Addison family and they build Addison apartments over a temple the cult makes their home

1905 Terrence Addison is born and offered to be the entry point of The Endless One, secretly being fed human flesh from an early age. Ignorant to his parents’ actions, Terrence grew to idolize his father and had dreams of opening a tea shop.

1917-1932, Terrence's soul is destroyed by The Endless One and his parents are murdered. His appearance starts to change, he's locked in his room by the Council to conceal their secret, while also drawing power from the entity.

Sally Face is one of my all time favourite videogames. The characters in Sally Face interact with each other so nicely and easily. Some of the attendants at Addison’s Appartments may seem slightly weird or sketchy, but ultimately everyone seems cool with everyone else. I really love Sally’s small sassy remarks and his determination to find out more about the Supernatural happenings at the Appartments. There’s also the fact that Sally and Larry have grewn so close and support one another. Only your best friend will take you seriously when you proclaim that the building you both live in is haunted. And there’s also their ship, which I Fully Support and Love, but I balance that love with how great the game is as a whole. We must acknowledge that so much thought and planning has gone into keeping the suspenseful mystery atmosphere that this game has alive. What really happened to Sally’s face? Why is Sally being tried for murder? (Spoiler) Why has Larry died? Who/What was the Red-Eyed Demon and what does it/they want? Will we talk to Mrs. Rosenberg again and get some answers?
