Am I the only Yu Yu Hakusho fan that loves Mr. Takenaka?
If you all don’t remember him, he’s the principle of Yusuke’s Junior High
Tumblr media
And frankly….he’s up there with JIN in my TOP FAVORITE side characters!!
Like he was probably the ONLY teacher that didn’t treat Yusuke like shit, called out Mr. Iwamoto and Akashi for being pieces of shit and stood up for Kuwabara and his friends:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And honestly I wish once Yusuke returned to Human World after the Three Kings Arc; imagine Takanaka seeing the man Yusuke becomes at the end of the series!
Tumblr media
And it would have brought Takanaka’s words about Yusuke making something of his life to full circle!

very curious as to what you mean by esper survivorship bias! there’s a couple things i’ve noticed that could be related (like how other than the obviously powerful teru, mob, ritsu the only child espers we see are the awakening lab kids whose powers are so limited that if they’re the baseline most espers would probably never find out they have powers at all) (or how other than the main 4 esper teens and the awakening lab kids and sort of takenaka the only psychics we see are adults that are part of claw) (sorry. my adhdemons)
FINALLY MORE EXCUSES TO TALK ABOUT MY HYPHOTESIS.
I first adressed it in this post, little time after I read some fics focusing on Teruki's relationship to Claw and started wondering about some stuff. After reading (part) of the World Domination Arc in the manga, I got more questions, which I'll explain here:
The Esper Survivorship Bias Theory
Contrary to the norm in works focused on the paranormal, in Mob Psycho 100 society overall doesn't care about espers. This is of course related to the main theme of "nobody is special" and the story's tendency for desconstructing shonen tropes, but it also implies that while rare, espers aren't seen as a big thing. This can be seen in the following details:
While describing Mob's powers, Inukawa treats them as only something unusual.
The Kageyama family, their friends and their acquaintances find Mob's powers ordinary.
Espers are a known phenomena (for an example, Mr. Asagiri looks for dozen of psychics on the start of the Mogami Arc).
Even when people don't believe on psychic powers, they don't insist much on this view after tiny proof (that is, powers are somehow beliavable).
Espers existing at all doesn't change how society works.
For that to happen, there must be a condition: the occurrence of psychic powers is common enough so that people acknowledge them AND usually don't mind their existence. They are like a weird, yet mundane fact.
This may contradict the canon's premise that psychic powers are extremely uncommon, but in the Seasoning City region alone we see several characters with them. Toichiro affirmed Claw has about 700 members and that he had hired international mercenaries, which in turn may mean there is a significant esper population out there. So why are there so few espers in-verse, they take years to meet people like them?
Simple. They aren't as extremely rare as people think. This is survivorship bias.
Most espers on canon are adults over 20 years old, and even a great part of these are members of Claw. The only psychic children we see are the main cast, the Awakening Lab kids and Takenaka. What a interesting coincidence that Claw too is 20 years old...
It's not that young espers are ultra uncommon nowadays, it's that as soon as they're obvious, Claw takes them.
This is not limited to powerful people, as the organization went after the Awakening Lab kids even though Claw either knew they had insignificant powers, or had no information on the level of their abilities at all. Any esper youth that enters their radar is a valid target.
Besides that, it's essential to remember Teruki is an exception to the rule. He survived being hunted down by Claw since childhood, but he also lived in dire conditions and was obsessed with being stronger than the criminals who went after him. Despite their powers, most esper children are normal. They wouldn't have an idea Claw existed. They wouldn't be prepared for a kidnapping attempt. And considering espers tend to feel socially alienated, lonely children have bigger chances to trust the Claw officials if they presented themselves as "someone who understood them".
In other words: espers aren't as rare as people believe. It's that as soon as they show their powers, Claw takes action. This is why there are so few characters under 18 who have psychic powers.
Final comments
Of course, many of the arguments I have mentioned could mean other things. MP100 has a pretty soft worldbuilding after all because psychic powers aren't the main focus, but rather a pretext for developing each character's perspective and inner turmoil, as well as the story's themes. Lot's of things are also played for humor and don't have real relevance. Furthermore, one could mention how the audience's view over MP100's world is limited to Mob's very uncommon life, and how some elements we've seen aren't the standard.
I'm just thinking a lot about the Claw targets' families. What did they know about the kidnappings? What did they do about them? How did the authorities investigate these cases? Have they found any closure? Have they connected the dots about the nature of the disappearances?
And what about the targets in question? How did their recruitments work? What they thought about what happened to them? Did they miss their loved ones? How many of them went on and kidnapped more kids? How many of them survived? Did they get to reunite with the people they loved and have a chance on a normal life?
Some food for thought.

for character headcanons tome ^_^
I CANNOT FND THE POST YOU ARE REFERRING TO FOR THE ABSOLUTE LOVE OF ME BUT I SWEAR I KNOW WHAT UR TALKING ABOUT. TREMBLES. if i get this wron g i wil ;. cr.y
i like to imagine tome as a relatively tall person. like maybe a few inches shorter than me... 5'7 ? shes very lanky. i think she had a little bit of a growth spurt once she hit like. lets say 12 or 13 and just shot the fuck up. then stopped. shes still tall just not crazy tall.
i LOVE masc presenting nonbinary tome but i feel like. idont know i feel like shes more. androgynous leaning does that make sense. her gender is weird girl but not a "girl" do you get me. she likes 2 wear skirts & jewelry & goes by ms over mx or mr . her pronouns r weird as hell too shes got the motherfucking zleep/zlorp it/its zhe/her all the neos all the xenogenders you get me ?
also. lesbian. duh. but also . i want to talk about it because it very much interests me. i def think shes ace because i hit every character i like with the ace beam but iiii. dont see her as aro? as much as i love aroace hcs i feel like it doesn't fit tome . at most i could see her on the aro spectrum..... i could totally see greyromantic tho maybe. but also specifically i dont think i could see her using orientation-specific labels, only gender labels. like she would call herself gnc/andro & specify her pronouns & list her most prominent xenogenders but when you ask about her orientation shes like. Girls 👍
ok now that gender is out of the way. smiles
i lik 2 explore her dynamic with takenaka & i think alot of people do honestly LOL. initially of course takenaka feels like a little bit of bitterness towards her because he understands she'd probably see him as nothing more than a guinea pig for her obsessions. but post telepathy arc i think they get along more cause he understands her way of thinking and fears & she understands that he (and others) actually DO care. i like to think they hang out & he manages to read her really well after a while without even needing telepathy.
i think she plays mhfu. i think this because i'm autistic leave me alone. tri ultimate makes more sense considering it was the most recent game to come out at that time but also it's got the smallest monster roster of any of the games, so mhfu it is. i think she'd main insect glaive (having essentially a telepathic communication with a little insect friend is such a cool idea to her) and her favorite monster would be yama tsukami. yama is literally perfect. it's outlandish, has a completely unique skeleton from any other monster in the games (save for yama kurai who was technically not a canon monster because it only existed in frontier) and it is quite literally an UNIDENTIFIED FLYING OBJECT. she would think that's rad as hell, and be very sad that it's not a popular monster (only solidifying her concept of isolation/alienation from her peers, liking things that are unusual to enjoy)
a weird hc i always had for her. i think she plucks out her eyebrow hairs so they r a little patchy almost? i knew someone who used 2 do that when i was younger and i think its something she would have done . speaking of hair she definitely cuts her own hair. SOMETHING TELLS ME SHE HAS PROBABLY TRIED TO DYE IT BEFORE. it didnt go well. her hair has never been the same
i think she's a big fan of new sensory experiences. that is a stim toy bitch if i ever saw one. i think she likes the textures most people find uncomfortable, like sandpaper or scratchy textures . not a picky eater but has a general preference for crunchy/hard stuff over things that melt in her mouth does that make sense ... i think her least favorite food is cotton candy. idk what her fave food is because my food knowledge is limited to bangladeshi cuisine and white people food (save me) but if i think of anything ill edit this. i actually implemented this into my design for her but she has alien earrings and they r kinda squishy. i think she messes with them when shes bored
shes dexterous as fuck with her hands. she could totally learn to shuffle a deck of cards fast as hell or play the shell game (cup shuffle) if she had interest in physical games. i think once she started working at s&s and really getting along with the rest of the Gang she would start playing card games & they always ask her to shuffle. not even reigen does it as well. years of gaming has trained tomes hands to levels not even reigen could dream of reaching
i think she'd be some kind of translator/ambassador... a high standing position based on middle-man communication. a linguist maybe? i think her obsession with the supernatural would eventually leave her down the path of like, culture study, to learn more about different regions mythical creatures. i also really like the post-canon ideas where she works with mezato as an investigator, WHICH ACTUALLY ACTS AS A SEGUE INTO MY NEXT HC
i think her and mezato would get along so well. its such a shame we never get a proper interaction between them. obviously their only canon interactions are accompanied by shigeo in which both of them r trying to grab his attention in some way and theres a little bit of conflict in that (tome realizing shige is a little uncomfortable with mezato pestering him about the cult & swooping in to give him an out) but i think if they genuinely decided 2 meet up and hang out they'd be a force to behold . girls who are wildly enthusiastic about their particular craft who seem to be somewhat outcasted even from their peers who hold similar interests. mezato being the most interested member of the journaling club & tome being the only person in the telepathy club who actually gives a fuck about telepathy!!!!! the thing about mezato though is that i dont think she is self conscious in the way that tome is. tome's like. worried about taking up others' time with her own interests that she clearly is the only one interested in. she thinks she should be grateful that they're even listening to her (atleast thats what i gathered from takenaka's reading of her thoughts during telepathy arc) and that no one but her truly gives a shit about the things she's into. and i dont have a firm grasp on mezato's character, but i think shes something of an inverse of tome in that sense. mezato's more confident about her interests, as well as being more confident in parading it around maybe. so i think they'd get along by being inverses of eachother. im not confident in describing mezato so i hope you kind of get what im saying
ok wow i got off track. i think she's one of those kids who had like a crazy amount of allergies when they were younger but eventually they faded as they got older. shes totally allergic to cats.
she . in the best way that i could possibly muster. feels like a middle child. she feels like someone who has a shit ton of siblings/lives with a big family does this make sense. i think she'd have like two older brothers and a little brother. am i insane can anyone else sense this.
okay i ran out of shit to say theres probably more but . coughs and dies. tome i love you

Interview with DECO*27 and Takuya Yamanaka on the Interactive Music Project MILGRAM -ミルグラム-
════ ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ •✦• ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ ════
TRANSLATOR NOTES:
This is an old interview back in 2020. It's important to remember that the thoughts of Yamanaka and DECO*27 about the direction of the characters could've changed! Don't let that deter you from your initial voting!
Given the structure of Japanese, run-on sentences are inevitable. I did my best to rephrase them for better flow and brevity. But there were some sentences that I found difficult to change so I left them as is.
Sometimes there would be additional context on some of the questions. This is because the interview answers won't make any sense without them. Haruka's song being the prime reason... They will appear as indented to separate them from the interview questions.
Please let me know if there are any errors especially with the names I used. I struggle with translating names accurately, so I did my best to be as precise as possible.

An interview with DECO*27 and Takuya Yamanaka, the producer of MILGRAM, has been published on Music Natalie.
As the first interview since the start of the project, they talk extensively about MILGRAM, starting from their initial encounter. Please check it out!
════ ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ •✦• ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ ════
DECO*27, a music producer, and Takuya Yamanaka, a game creator known for the "Caligula" series and other works, have collaborated on a new project called MILGRAM -ミルグラム-. The third CD in the series, "Umbilical," has been recently released. The two artists, who usually work in different genres, have joined forces for this project.
MILGRAM -ミルグラム- is a unique project that encourages viewer participation through music, visuals, and voice dramas. As "guards" of MILGRAM -ミルグラム-, viewers observe the crimes of the prisoners through the release of music and music videos and then make a judgment of "forgive" or "not forgive".
The project involves professionals from different fields, including members of DECO*27's company OTOIRO who have contributed to the visual, video, and music arrangement aspects.
The project also features a cast of talented voice actors such as Yurina Amami (Es), Shun Horie (Haruka), and Yuuka Aisaka (Yuno). The project has gained attention for its collaborative nature and the participation of professionals from various genres.
Music Natalie interviewed the two creators behind the MILGRAM -ミルグラム- project, discussing the inspiration behind the project, their perspectives on it, and the process of producing the music, including the release of the third CD, "Umbilical".
The interview was conducted by Hitoshi Sugiyama, and Keiki Takenaka from ARTIST PHOTO STUDIO provided the photos.

PRIORITIZING VIEWER ENJOYMENT
════ ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ •✦• ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ ════
──Is it safe to say that your initial collaboration was for the game "Caligula Overdose," released in 2018 and produced/directed by Mr. Yamanaka, where DECO*27 composed the Stork song "Love Scope"?
youtube
DECO*27: Yes, that's right. It was the first time we met at the recording studio at that time.
Takuya Yamanaka: During media interviews for the game, we talked about our musical ideas and realized that we were of the same generation.
DECO*27: But we didn't have any contact for a while after that.
Yamanaka: Yeah, that's right. During that time, I became a freelancer, and he founded OTOIRO, so our circumstances shifted. When I saw the music video for "Otome Kaibou feat. Hatsune Miku" that came out early 2019, it felt like a showcase for OTOIRO as a company. I recall thinking, "If I could harness this potential and create something of my own, it could be really fun."
DECO*27: We had the opportunity to have a meal together and talk about work and various things. At that time, we talked about wanting to do something together. It was a typical polite social gesture.
Yamanaka: I came up with the idea for "MILGRAM -ミルグラム-" during a meal with DECO*27. I didn't want the suggestion to be perceived as just a polite social gesture, so I proposed the idea on the spot.
Originally, I had thought of turning it into a game, but after seeing the music video for "Otome Kaibou," I was inspired to develop something that was synced with music. I found this idea more modern and interesting. The comment section of Vocaloid songs often features various people offering their interpretations and analyses of the music video.
However, there's usually no way to confirm whether these interpretations are correct or not. So, I came up with the idea of providing an answer and turning it into a complete story.
DECO*27: As soon as I heard that idea, I could envision myself as the composer and akka as the character designer, so I said right there and then, "I'm in!"
Yamanaka: From there, we started to communicate our ideas for this work and worked together to make it happen.

The Music Video that inspired MILGRAM's Direction
──Was there anything you were conscious of when starting the project?
DECO*27: In creating MILGRAM -ミルグラム-, our main goal was to prioritize viewer enjoyment. That's why we made sure that crucial aspects of the project were not restricted to paid areas, such as the official app.
Yamanaka: We wanted to keep things fun and avoid commercializing our collaboration as two individuals from the same generation. So, we made an effort to exclude any commercial aspects. For instance, we considered including voting tickets in the CDs to boost sales, but ultimately decided against it.
DECO*27: Also, since the theme of the content itself is heavy, we wanted to make it easy for people to participate by keeping the door open. Some people may deeply ponder the concept of sin and ask themselves, "Would I forgive my family, friends, or lover if they committed such acts?", while others may easily forgive a character simply because they enjoy the music. Both reactions are valid, and we welcome them.

MORE PRISONERS RESULTED IN HEAVIER WORKLOAD
════ ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ •✦• ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ ════
──What about the specific system, story composition, and the interplay between music and story?
Yamanaka: I believe that "listening to music to understand the emotions of the creator" is an approach that deepens our understanding of music. The MILGRAM -ミルグラム- system was created with that motivation in mind. To really maximize its potential, we came up with the idea of having viewers explore the underlying reasons behind the "sins" portrayed in the music.
Nowadays, it's common to see a lot of people sharing their thoughts on crimes that happen in the world through social media and other platforms. I believe it would be fascinating if we could inspire people to reflect more deeply on "why" they feel a certain way towards a particular crime--and allow them the freedom to explore their emotional reactions.
For example, in MILGRAM -ミルグラム-, there's a character named Amane (CV: Miu Tanaka) who is 12 years old. Some people might say "I forgive them because they're just a child," while others might think "I won't forgive them just because they're a child."
In my opinion, there aren't many chances for people to truly articulate and ponder "what kind of person am I, and why do I think this way?"
Our hope for MILGRAM -ミルグラム- is that viewers will be able to reflect upon themselves and their own emotions through examining the sins of the characters.
DECO*27: Absolutely. But we haven't revealed what the outcome for the characters will be based on the viewers' judgment. So, at the moment, our main objective is for viewers to simply listen to the music, analyze it, and form their own opinions freely.
──Were there any changes made to the original plan due to DECO*27's input?
Yamanaka: Of course. When we worked together on "Caligula -カリギュラ-", I was impressed by how he expanded on the initial concept to create music. At the same time, I feel like my ideas provide him with inspiration that is different from what he usually gets when making music alone, so we are mutually influencing each other.
DECO*27: For instance, we initially planned to release one song per character over the course of three seasons - with each season containing song number 1, song number 2, and full-length versions. But for some reason, I proposed right from the start that we should release all of them in full-length versions (laughs). That was quite challenging.
Yamanaka: Originally, there were eight characters burdened with the weight of guilt.
──In the end, there were two more characters, making it a total of ten.
DECO*27: It began with my suggestion to include a character who would cause a stir in MILGRAM -ミルグラム-.
Yamanaka: While thinking to myself, "I know I'm struggling, but you're in the same boat, right!?" (laughs).
But in fact, the two people who joined the project at that point actually ended up doing an incredible job. I think that without them, the project would not be possible. As a result, we both ended up facing a hellish amount of work... (laughs).
I have the feeling that the nature of this project, which isn't based on the commercial principle of "creating something worth the investment," has lifted its constraints. We're motivated by the desire to push ourselves, "Let's do it even if it doesn't justify the cost."
youtube
════ ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ •✦• ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ ════
A CRAZY PROJECT
════ ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ •✦• ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ ════
DECO*27: Well, it's just hell (laughs).
Yamanaka: (laughs) I have all kinds of possible endings in mind, and we have a storyline that we think would be easy to create, but it is really up to the viewers to decide what will actually happen.
DECO*27: It's the same with the music. After each character is voted for, we start working on the music for the next season, but we're also brainstorming ideas for both "forgive" and "don't forgive" outcomes, so it could go either way.
Yamanaka: MILGRAM is such a crazy project (laughs).
I was really happy to find someone who would go along with it, and when I first suggested playing the game, I had the theme of "sin and love" in mind, with questions such as "Can you forgive someone after knowing their crimes?" and "What would you do if you couldn't forgive someone you loved?"
But, in expressing this through DECO*27's music, it was expanded to combine various emotions other than love with sin. It shifted to something more contemporary, closer to what the audience can relate to.
We came up with characters by personifying their sins, creating a situation where the judgment of whether to "forgive" or "not forgive" varies depending on the person judging them. We listed many situations where judgments are divided based on the viewer's personality, environment, upbringing, and so on.
Even if the sins seem similar at first glance, the circumstances in which they were committed and the possibility of extenuating circumstances can create entirely different characters.
DECO*27: When I saw the characters being developed, I thought to myself, 'Oh, they're going to do some nasty things...' and wondered how I would write songs for them. But each prisoner has a story leading up to the point where they commit their sins, and this varies depending on the character.
Tumblr media
──While reviewing the materials for the interview, I was impressed by the detailed characterizations and realistic personalities portrayed, down to the smallest details.
Yamanaka: For me, I do not want my characters to be perceived as two-dimensional beings. I stick to the idea that they are based on real people who happen to have a two-dimensional appearance. That's one of my rules when creating characters, and I also make sure to write down their backstory in the materials.
So, even though the setting of the story in MILGRAM is a fantasy space, I wanted the characters themselves to feel like they could exist right beside you. That's why in this work, there are no instances of killing people with magic.
════ ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ •✦• ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ ════
DETAILED DIRECTION FOR VOICE ACTORS
════ ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ •✦• ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ ════
──DECO*27 has released three albums of music to date. Could you first talk about the production process behind "Undercover," which was the first album released in May?
Yamanaka: This song is really cool, isn't it? I felt that it perfectly captures what we wanted to express in MILGRAM. The music is spot on.
──The song "Undercover" serves as the character song for Es (CV: Yurina Amami), who serves as a representation of the viewer. As a result, it has become something of a theme song for MILGRAM.
DECO*27: Yes, that's right. I felt a lot of pressure to create something that would help listeners understand MILGRAM - a sort of introductory song for the work.
Es sings about the emotions of various characters in the song, but the lyrics of the part where prisoners appear in the music video correspond to each character, so that's an important hint as well.
Although it can be enjoyed as a fun theme song for MILGRAM, there are various hidden clues in the music.
Once the phrase "Will I be able to forgive everything now that I know everything?" was created for the chorus, the production went smoothly.
I think this phrase is the part that everyone is scratching their heads about when analyzing the song, but every line and delivery that feels strange while listening will come to have an important meaning later on, so I'd be happy if people could listen closely.
youtube
──Speaking of 'Undercover,' the way 'Future' is sung is quite distinctive, isn't it?
DECO*27: I provided the voice actor with a temporary recording of me singing, but I remember recording 'Future' multiple times until I was satisfied with the nuance I wanted to convey to Es (Yurina Amami).
Yamanaka: The songs for MILGRAM -ミルグラム- are created with the image of having a ratio of three parts singing to seven parts acting, as we ask the voice actors to perform. We also give them detailed directions on how we want them to act and sing.
──That's because it's an extension of the voice drama included on the CD?
DECO*27: Yes, that's right. So, if you listen to all the songs on the first installment of 'Undercover' in sequence, you'll hear a line in the last voice drama that says 'Now, sing your sins,' and the first track starts playing right after that.
════ ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ •✦• ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ ════
GUITAR ROCK AND ELECTRO-POP
════ ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ •✦• ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ ════
──And the second installment was the song ''Weakness' by Haruka (CV: Shun Horie).
DECO*27: This is a song about cannibalism.
Yamanaka: The music video created by OTOIRO was really crazy, or rather, it made me feel like saying, 'Let's do this!' In the MV, Mana Inoue created a collage that was mixed with animation. It's reassuring to see each creator playing to their strengths.
DECO*27: Using that technique, we portrayed Haruka's sin in an eerie way.
Translator Notes:
Thank you Ollie for this context. I'm horrible with Japanese puns.
The title of Haruka's songs are based on famous Yojijukugo (think of idioms) but one of the kanji is changed to a different one that sounds the same but causes the meaning to shift.
Haruka's first MV is a play on the phrase 弱肉強食 じゃくにくきょうしょく (literally 'weak meat, strong eat'). it's considered similar to 'survival of the fittest.'
Haruka's MV title is 弱肉共食 'strong' becomes 'together.'
So it can be translated as 'the weak eat each other.'
Because this is a high level pun, they just went with Weakness.
Fun Fact: This is why when Weakness merch goes through machine translation it gets called like weak meat co-eat.
And while we're here, let's talk about AKAA.
It's "omniscience and omnipotence" (All Knowing and All Powerful) [全知全能 ] / [ぜんちぜんのう]
But the word 能 talent/ability is swapped for 悩 worry/distress hence "All Knowing, All Agony."
youtube
──What is important to DECO*27 in the music of MILGRAM -ミルグラム-?
DECO*27: When it comes to the music of MILGRAM -ミルグラム-, we first considered two directions: whether to make all the sounds rock-oriented and in line with the world of MILGRAM -ミルグラム-, or to change the genre for each character.
We struggled with this decision, but ultimately chose the latter. My role is to express the story created by Takuya Yamanaka with music that suits the story and to collaborate with his work in various ways.
In the trailer currently available on YouTube, you can hear the chorus of the ten songs of the ten prisoners in the first trial. I intentionally made it so that you can hear various genres of music, so I hope you enjoy that as well.
── Indeed, the music in MILGRAM -ミルグラム- is very diverse, and it seems that rather than making everything into dark rock-oriented music just because it's a serious work, there are efforts to convey the personalities of each character.
Yamanaka: It expresses the characters' emotions, doesn't it? Even if something appears grotesque from an outsider's perspective, that person may feel like they're doing something pop. When I receive sound sources from DECO*27, I'm always surprised by how he expresses things.
── In that sense, the new release "Umbilical" by Yuuka Aisaka's character Yuno has a completely different sound from the guitar rock style of "Undercover" and "Weakness." It's a bright electro-pop tune.
youtube
Yamanaka: From the planning stage, we talked about wanting to create a musical style that would surprise those who had heard the songs of Es and Haruka.
DECO*27: "Umbilical" is an electro-pop song, but actually, the sound of the orchestral hit (Okehi) included in the song is related to that. I purposely added the sound that was popular in the 90s before today.
Yamanaka: We also put a lot of conscious effort into the backgrounds in the music videos for each song, so if you pay attention to those, you might notice things that people who are aware of them will appreciate. Each song is also made with consideration for how the audience will feel upon first listening. As the story progresses, I think there might be new discoveries made by listening back to past songs.
DECO*27: Each CD also includes a cover of a DECO27 song, but I personally select songs that suit each character's voice. Although it only has to suit their voice, and isn't related to their personality or crime committed, we change the key and arrangement to match the character, so I hope people enjoy that aspect as well.

TWO PEOPLE WITH DIFFERENT MINDS
════ ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ •✦• ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ ════
──How has the response been from viewers so far?
Yamanaka: In my case, I've started to be mistaken for THE ORAL CIGARETTES' Yamanaka Takuya (vocals, guitar)… Fans of the band follow me on Twitter, and then quickly unfollow me when they realize their mistake (laughs).
DECO*27: (laughs) And also, the singing ability of the voice actors who participated this time is amazing. It makes me very happy when people notice the attention we put into that. Everyone's acting and singing were great, and they provided the correct answers from the beginning, so I thought, "I want to take it further!" and added some direction.
── At the same time, there must have been moments when the two of you rediscovered each other's charm, right?
Yamanaka: In the process of creating things together, DECO*27's notable point is that he has a very pure perspective.
In my case, when I experience some entertainment, I have a tendency to look at it from an overview perspective, thinking, "As a creator, this is what I would do."
But he receives entertainment 100% and is able to enjoy it to the fullest. That's why ideas keep coming to him. Even though we're the same age, he has a bit of a boyish charm. I think the secret to being able to continue making hit songs for over 10 years is that he can continue to maintain that charm. He has his own writing style, and constantly updates his sensitivity, which is kind of abnormal in a good way.
──On the other hand, what are the appealing qualities of Mr. Yamanaka from DECO*27's perspective?
DECO*27: In his case, he's someone who has a lot of "ifs." He has both the "ifs" of success and the "ifs" of failure preconceived, so he has a large tree of "what ifs" prepared. In my case, when something unexpected happens, I panic and say "oh no!" but he calmly makes choices.
Yamanaka: I'm a pessimist, so I think about what to do when things don't go well.
──In that sense, MILGRAM -ミルグラム- is a project where two people with different personalities come together.
DECO*27: I really think so. By just watching how we would write the character's dialogue, you can tell our brain works differently. In MILGRAM -ミルグラム-, the characters' lines are sometimes quoted in my lyrics. On the other hand, during the voice drama recording, I sometimes think, "he picked that up from my lyrics!" And he (Yamanaka-san) even helps me find the right phrases, like "that's it" or "that's perfect!"
════ ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ •✦• ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ ════
IF EVERYONE IS FORGIVEN, THEN LET'S SHOW THEM HELL
════ ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ •✦• ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ ════
──It's really interesting how your exchange influences each other, and how the project's content changes based on the choices of the viewers
Yamanaka: That's why depending on the viewers' choices, it may lead to a surprising development that even we didn't expect, like "Oh, so this is how it turns out...!" It's both exciting and enjoyable for us.
──As viewers, what should we look forward to in the future?
DECO*27: From a musical standpoint, the songs in the first trial serve as an introduction and explanation of each character's crime. We hope you'll enjoy seeing how each character's singing voice and style come together. The chorus emphasizes melody, but we also focused on bringing out the unique personality of each character in the other parts, so I hope people pay attention to that while enjoying the visuals as well.
Tumblr media
──Based on what I heard earlier, the music is quite diverse. There are songs that adhere to "character song" conventions, while others incorporate trap elements. Additionally, there are songs that combine soul and R&B elements with city pop, and even some with death voice.
DECO*27: This was made possible with the help of Rockwell's power. The songs with trap parts are conscious of overseas trends, and the city pop-like songs are sung by cool characters. Please pay attention to the combination of characters and music genres.
──What about you, Mr. Yamanaka?
Yamanaka: In MILGRAM -ミルグラム-, we want viewers to think and consider things, but whether their considerations are correct or not is not really a big deal.
Rather, I would be happy if they could confront their own emotions and imagination through the characters from various perspectives, such as, "If this were the case, I would not forgive them." or "If this were the case, I might forgive them." This is not only important in MILGRAM -ミルグラム-, but also in life.
── You want us to have the opportunity not only to learn about the characters, but also to learn about ourselves.
Yamanaka: That's right. That's why we want to treat the characters not just as two-dimensional characters, but as human beings. We want people to think about how they would feel if such a person actually existed.
──Does MILGRAM -ミルグラム- relate to what you just talked about, given that its name comes from the Milgram Experiment which studied the psychology of people who obey authority?
Yamanaka: It does, but not just that. Although it is titled MILGRAM -ミルグラム- , the situation is more like the Stanford prison experiment. A psychological experiment in which subjects were divided into prisoners and guards in a prison-like facility to observe their behavior. However, the question of what the Milgram Experiment was trying to prove is at the core of the work.
──What do you personally expect from MILGRAM -ミルグラム-in the future?
Yamanaka: It's not exactly what I'm expecting, but I assume that everyone will lean towards "forgiving" all the characters. But if they were all forgiven, I would "show them hell" (laughs).
DECO*27: (laughs). To put it in real terms, forgiving a murder means that those people will all come back into society as they are.
Yamanaka: Yes, that's right. But on the other hand, there is certainly the love of family members. Depending on the distance between that person and oneself, I think the way one feels will surely change. That's what's really interesting. For me, it's like I'm doing a psychological experiment (laughs).

>open Twitter >open DMs to send a message to a buddy I haven't spoken to in a while >there's a shitton of messages that I never got notifications for that I just straight-up missed over the course of A YEAR >goddamn it Twitter >this is all Elon Musk's fault >anyway >one of them is from the Project Umbrella guys >remember the big stupid bitchfight I got into with them last year >oh Jesus what the fuck did they want back then that I missed >open DM >HE'S DEFENDING THE RE ARCHIVES >NO FUCKING WAY LOL
Tumblr media
THAT'S NOT WHAT THE RE ARCHIVES SAYS
THIS IS WHAT THE RE ARCHIVES SAYS:
Tumblr media
And that's NOT what happens in Leon's RE3 epilogue. THIS is Leon's RE3 epilogue:
Tumblr media
Oh but wait!
There's more!
This guy then tries to go on to defend the "Adam Benford kidnapped Leon" argument. Let's see how well his argument holds up.
Tumblr media
So let's check his facts. Let's do a search for Jun Takeuchi.
Tumblr media
Interesting. So Takeuchi became an executive around 2017. RE6 came out in 2012. So Takeuchi wasn't an executive at the time RE6 was written or released.
In fact
looking at this
Takeuchi didn't work on Resident Evil 6 at all. So... if he didn't work on RE6, then that would make anything he writes about it... fanfiction... wouldn't it? Otherwise, what gives him word of god for RE6's story? The fact that he was employed at the company at the time? Does this mean that any random environmental artist has word of god over the story? Do the Monster Hunter guys have word of god over RE6, too?
And what about Tsukasa Takenaka? Well, he's not even a big enough name to have a Wikipedia page to begin with. In fact, looking him up, it seems like he had a minor hand in writing RE5, produced Revelations 1, and worked on RE: The Mercenaries 3D.
yikes.
Okay, well what about this dude's other claims?
Adam Benford was director of the CIA in 2002 (according ONLY TO that airsoft ad written by the guy who did not work on RE6; this is NOT stated in RE6 itself), and his position in 1998 is unknown -- implying that he was not actually the director of the CIA in 1998. But Leon was kidnapped in 1998 by the CIA. So if he wasn't the director... then I guess he wasn't behind the kidnapping, was he?
Our friend from Project Umbrella then goes on to make a bunch of other claims right in a row, so let's go down them one by one.
>"Leon and Adam working together for a decade is only an approximation" Okay, but if you're approximating, the number would be closer to 15, not 10. Benford died in 2011. 2011 - 1998 = 13. So the rounded number would be 15.
>it's okay if RE6 gets the date wrong because supplementary material gets it wrong >implying that the game does not have more people working on it to ensure accuracy than random supplemental material. You're telling me that no one on the team of hundreds that worked on this game remembered that Raccoon City happened in 1998?
>RE6 is off by a year re: Chris killing Wesker
Is that true?
Tumblr media
No, actually. That's not true at all. RE6 says it happened in 2009. And, wouldn't you know it. RE5 takes place in 2009.
So, what do you think, Mr. Project Umbrella?
Is that enough research that I've done for you?
Maybe the next time you want to go into a woman's DMs to mansplain at her and call her hysterical, you might want to get your fucking facts right first, you self-important misogynistic piece of human fucking garbage.
So.
In conclusion.
DO NOT LISTEN TO THE FUCKERS WHO CONTROL THE WIKI
THEY JUST FUCKING GO ON THE INTERNET AND TELL LIES
and talk down to women, apparently

Ok ok ok so I have this mp100 roleswap au that I’m not gonna do anything with (me when i lie /hj) but I wanna talk about it so here we go. Spoilers for mp100 ofc.
kageyama refers to mr. kageyama btw
mob —>teru
ritsu —>shou
reigen —>serizawa
dimple —>mogami
toichiro—>kageyama
tome —>takenaka
musashi —>onigawara???
tsubomi —>emi
MORE UNDER CUT
cast lol:
“master… you shouldn’t let others push you around.” suzuki (hanazawa) “teru” teruki is the main character in this au. he’s a normal middle school boy that just happens to be well liked by his classmates. He tries not to stand out too much despite this (think s1 ritsu) because he’s afraid of hurting people with his powers. He relies a lot on his abilities and is a little stuck up but he has a good heart and tries his best. unlike canon mob he’s quick to jump in head first into problems when people annoy him. He masks his true emotions with anger which causes a lot of trouble more often than not. he’s eager to learn new techniques and when he does exorcisms he’s not afraid to show off a little. only when things get desperate for his loved ones does he get serious. he cares a lot about fashion and his hair. (that’ll be important later lol)
“what’s important is staying true to yourself… just be kind, hanazawa.” serizawa katsuya is teru’s mentor. he’s a former shut in that in the later half of his life tried to get his life together. Now he’s a broke psychologist that situated his office in the cheapest place he could find. in the beginning of the story he’s very easy to walk all over because he lacks confidence but teru’s wit compensates for that… somewhat. he’s shy and a bit awkward but is ready to put his life on the line for teru. he’s become really attached to the kid almost considering him family. he tends to close himself off but has been trying his best to be as honest as possible with teru. serizawa is usually very calm and collected, being able to deal with clients with ease (he’s not as nervous when he’s in his element) but his temper is something to be feared when he finally loses his composure. he’s also a huge nerd lol. sarcasm is added to his vocabulary as teru rubs off on him.
“i’m proud of you teruki. you’re going to go far in life.” mogami keiji is a pessimistic spirit used to be a famous psychic in life. now in death he just wants to control people and bring the world to the state he wants it to be. he wants everyone to conform so he can easily punish those who deserve it. he doesn’t care if his methods are unethical but he starts to change his mind about the world once a certain esper beats him up. at first he attempts to manipulate teru into becoming his sympathizer so he could use him (mogami land) but it backfires. he ends up babysitting said esper instead and learning things from him. he realizes that not everyone is terrible and that goodness can come from unexpected places… even himself.
“you… consider me your rival!? uh, well… i’ll try not to wander too far then.” kageyama “mob” shigeo is teru’s closest friend. previously he was the accidental shadow leader from black vinegar. he usually doesn’t stand out among the crowd but had made an underground name for himself fighting other delinquents with his psychic powers. it started out as an accident but it ended up escalating from there. the black vinegar delinquents threatened him (they were going to hurt his brother) so they could use him as their pawn. he is a kind and gentle person at heart but eventually he fought others to vent out his frustrations of things the delinquents made him do and his complicated family situation. after teru shows him a better way to live (by beating him up) mob turns his life around. he becomes more like canon mob, awkward but determined. he becomes more popular at school with his softer disposition. teru looks up to him, his kind nature and his ability to transfer his emotions to others being inspiring. mob likes to hang out at serizawa’s office when he’s bored as an excuse to see teru his better father serizawa (mob is so in love with teru)
“just let me say sorry, idiot!” suzuki shou is teru’s younger brother. they aren’t related by blood but they’ve pretty much known each other their whole lives. they were close once but slowly drifted apart as teru stopped being open with what he was truly feeling. they were on good terms but things were a little tense. shou is hot headed but gentle as he was taught by his mother. he’s fairly popular at school for his outgoing nature as well as his art. (forced to join the student council by his father. he said it would “teach him how to be more responsible”) he didn’t gain any psychic powers until middle school so he was always jealous of his brother for having them and was extremely afraid of him losing control. He's different from canon ritsu in the way that he actually likes his brother’s mentor (but that might just be because serizawa is genuinely likable) he isn’t necessarily protective of his brother he just wanted to have a connection with him. post edgy arc they have more sibling banter.
“i’m reigen arataka, the greatest esper of the 21st century! of course I can deal with something as simple as psychology! haha…” reigen arataka is a former con artist that was down on his luck. after quitting his office job, he would go from failed business venture to failed business venture. eventually due to the stress of his parents telling him he was a failure and his run down business he awakens his psychic powers. since he couldn’t control them he started accidentally attacking innocent customers. he becomes a fake detective and takes on a mysterious and dangerous case to get away from others. one day as he’s investigating he gets attacked by a spirit. now scared and alone he was saved by kageyama who promised him a stable job and promised to teach him how to use his powers. he worked under kageyama, using a curse spray (mixed with salt for regular people) to distract his opponents. he never actually killed anyone… just put them to sleep. reigen never truly liked what he was doing but he’d do whatever he can to survive and prove to everyone that they were wrong about him. he fought teru and came to the conclusion that there was more to life than just surviving. he opted to ask (beg) serizawa for a job after he saves him. he works as a full time exorcist/secretary at serizawa’s office, handling the marketing and business sides of things.
“dad can’t get more embarrassing can he?” kageyama ritsu is mob’s younger brother and a “friend” of shou’s. he’s closest of the brothers to their father and has been the child who was expected to inherit the world after kageyama takes over. in reality he hates his father for what he has been doing and has been completely overwhelmed with balancing the wellbeing of his brother and planning the defeat of his father. he puts a lot of pressure on himself and doesn’t always feel like he can be his true self. he seems to have a little distain towards teru. shigeo and ritsu have a better relationship in this au because the accident had never happened but they are still a little closed off due to their current circumstances. ritsu is much less cruel (i guess??) than canon shou was in season 1 but he tends to exude a stressed and intimidating aura that scrares people off. he’s more present in the story since he and mob go to the same school and live alone together.
“at this rate i won’t have time today to work on my novel…” aikyo emi is teru’s “crush” and childhood friend. she gives in easily to peer pressure and goes along with the crowd in fear of being ostracized. she’s shy and lacks self confidence but she’s very passionate about writing. teru steps in to defend her one day when they were young and they became friends. they aren’t very close now but emi appreciates his company. everyone seems to have high expectations for her and teru but she isn’t interested. she just wishes she could be loved for who she is and not who people want her to be.
“tch, i’m sure telepaths exist… probably.” takenaka momozou is a normal student at salt middle. he’s the president of the dying tenis club. he’s passionate about espers (new), and tenis. he meets teru when he’s looking for a new recruit for his club after tome storms off. post the events of the mp100 he works part time at serizawa’s office and becomes like family to them. i have an idea for him but i can’t really put it into words so you get this for now.
“you’re never gonna get better like that ya dummy! better keep drawin’ or i’ll hit ya with a demon rush!” onigawara tenga is the leader of the art club. he isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty against the gangs but he tries to restrain himself when it comes to being a good example for his club. onigawara has a mixed reputation due to his temperament (that’s why no one joins the club lol) but he’s actually really sweet. he’s hotheaded and stubborn like teru so they clash at times. despite their disagreements he’s willing to dive headfirst into black vinegar to save teru only to find out it was due to a misunderstanding with musashi.
“why won’t you join me!? can’t you see you can become god with my help!” dimple is a powerful evil spirit with only one goal: becoming god. he’s generally more peaceful in nature using group hypnosis to force people to follow him. he’s selfish and rude and would do almost anything to reach his goal. he posseses an innocent girl mezato in hopes of scouting out someone that could help him gain more influence. also i was thinking that he creates this big cult and builds a theme park or something so it’s a literal “ekuboland” (mogamiland always sounded like a theme park to me) like the official merch lol. he’s not actually that bad and can change since he’s pretty much the same as canon dimple but i’m not sure how to go about that arc tbh.
general notes:
the some of the awakening lab kids are teru’s friends from the art club. they’re kinda divided into both the art club and tennis club.
edano is teru’s acquaintance from the tennis club (takes the place of inukawa but also some of onigawara i think)
musuashi and the body improvement club are the same i think. musashi specifically just gets roped up in the black vinegar drama on accident which causes the whole thing.
the former telepathy club is now part of the awakening lab… maybe?? tome would totally go there and become a member just to learn more about her powers (she replaces takenaka as the telepath)
tsubomi is still popular. she goes along with the dare her friends made her do but she’s upfront about it and teru could care less cause he isn’t interested. so ig they might think that the other is kinda snobby and the episode is them realizing that they’re kinda similar and can’t judge each other by appearances so they become besties.
toichiro is happily married and not a toxic dad (a bit overbearing but oh well) domestic toichiro for the win!!
the ultimate 5 are somehow swapped with some of the seventh division. some of the seventh division would be swapped within themselves??? maybe??? they’d all be besties with serizawa after tho fr!!
roshuuto and jodo could be swapped for the funnies. shinra is silly so idk who to swap him with…
oh yeah mezato is swapped with minori btw. minori is rich but goes to salt middle and is a jerk but teru isn’t having any of that so she’s chill. there’s no cult formed about teru, just minori getting proper character development like she deserves.
broccoli will probably be a tomato or a strawberry instead…
oh yeah also since i headcanon teru as gay uh maybe he realizes he doesn’t actually like emi that way and he was just gaslighting himself into thinking he liked her and he realizes that during the final arc along with other stuff about himself ofc. i’m sorry everything has to be gay with me i can’t make teru like women i’m sorry it just isn’t possible
Now the background info:
the incident that gets teru to repress himself is a little bit different. his bio parents were afraid of him and treated him terribly. the day of the incident they were yelling at him. shou, a neighbor and close friend saw this and ran in to defend him. his mother grabbed shou and threw teru to the floor allowing ???% to manifest itself. everyone is hurt and his parents take this opportunity to get rid of teru. The suzukis feel bad for teru and decide to adopt him (no one but shou knows teru he caused the incident) from then on teru lives with the suzukis and considers them his true family. he doesn’t quite remember what happened but does he know is that he can’t control his powers like he thought he could. he doesn’t want anyone to get hurt.
teru ends up at a psychiatric office, mistaking the it for a spiritual consultation office after seeing a rundown sign that hadn’t been replaced. serizawa, the psychologist that owns the small office, answered the door. teru, excited and eager to learn from a “professional”, completely ignored serizawa’s protests of not actually being an esper. he pretty much appoints himself as serizawa’s disciple. serizawa gives in and let’s him tag along after seeing his abilities and that the child genuinely needed help. he doesn’t tell teru he has powers but after he takes teru in but he doesn’t deny it either. he doesn’t want to lie so he just doesn’t say anything about it unless it’s to give advice. Though… he does add exorcisms to his line of work after teru joins to help train him. (he pays him appropriately.)
if you want me to talk about my thoughts of more of the cast/the plot let me know lol

"Takenaka's Cure for Boredom"
A Mob Psycho tickle fic !!
word count: 2,446
a/n: I've had this sitting for around almost done for a bit and figured I'd cut it off where I did so I could finally post it! Will hopefully write a sequel eventually... no promises. Shoutout to these two for being my favorite ever. Next on the agenda is Takeritsho... mwahahaha !!
warnings: none aside from light swearing!
☆☆☆
"D-don't!"
Momozo felt the sly grin on his face grow ever so slightly larger. Across from him sat Kageyama Ritsu, both sitting on the latter's bed.
They had been doing their individual homework together the whole afternoon, Momozo texting the other that his weekend tennis practice had been called off. Well, "doing homework;" it was more so Ritsu trying and failing to get Momozo to pay attention to anything other than his phone, and in turn also getting distracted.
(He didn't normally have too much of an issue focusing, but it wasn't Momozo's fault the kid never took any breaks.)
The distraction currently being the way Momozo had confidently stated "I'm bored," before setting his phone down, shooting a glance at the younger boy sitting next to him on the bed, and slowly bringing his hands up as "claws," inching in Ritsu's direction. As he seemed to have made a very ANNOYING habit of doing recently.
"Don't what?"
"Do not tickle me! Takenaka I swear to god-"
As selfish as it may have been, Momozo always relished in how skittish he could get the "Mr. Student Council, Straight A's, Mature and Serious Pretty Boy," which was a facade that he had seen through almost immediately. And not because of his telepathy. Ignoring the part of his brain that groaned at how grossly cheesy it was, the older boy enjoyed being able to see this side of Ritsu.
"Okay, so you're telling me that you really do not want me to tickle you? Is that right?"
The brunette bit back a fond laugh as he watched Ritsu squirm ever so slightly. He noted the small smile that the other was trying very hard and failing to bite down, the way his cheeks were already a lovely shade of pink, and how he was very clearly hesitating in confirming that he most definitely did not want to be tickled right now. Momozo quirked up an eyebrow as if to say ‘I know you’re lying.’ He did that often.
This kid was so easy to read it was almost annoying at times. Almost.
"Hey! N-no fair, you can't use your telepathy, that's cheating!"
Momozo barked out a laugh, grin widening. Normally, he would've grown irritated at the accusation; but with Ritsu, it was far too much fun messing with him for Momozo to be angry. Poor kid just gave himself away, too.
"How many times do I have to remind you, I'm not using my powers. People can say a lot with their eyes and body language. Plus you’re, like, super easy to read."
He watched Ritsu swallow as the boy realized his mistake, once again floundering for any attempt at control over the situation. If Momozo didn't immediately shut down the train of thought, he probably would've said it was cute. Gross.
"W-wait, but my eyes were-"
"Saying that you want me to tickle you? Yeah, I picked up on that."
Growing impatient, Momozo dashed forward on the mattress while Ritsu was still taken aback from the "matter-of-fact" statement. The shorter of the two let out a yelp, scrambling to get away from his assailant, but to no avail. Not only had Momozo had a head start, but he was also just a tad stronger than Ritsu due to his practicing for club and his height. …At least Ritsu liked to tell himself that.
Momozo put on an innocent smile at the friend underneath him; Ritsu's head had found its way to his pillow on the way down, with Momozo resting his hands on either of Ritsu's sides as he kneeled next to him, towering over him just enough to keep him in place. And as much as a show the raven-haired boy made of squirming around, it was clear to both of them that he really wasn't trying to get away. Plus, if he did want to, he had the strength to do so at any time.
"Takenaka!" Ritsu very nearly whined, biting his lip as the wobbly smile on his face became more prominent.
"Mmhm?"
Ritsu threw Momozo what was apparently supposed to be a sharp glare, though there was no clear malice behind it. Embarrassment, maybe, but not anger.
This was so unfair. It was so… childish. Definitely not something a serious, mature and perfectly ordinary middle schooler would spend time doing. So why, Ritsu asked himself, was his stomach filled with a buzzing excitement? Why did he already feel the giggles bubbling up in his chest, and why was it fun? Why was he having fun?
Normally, the only person who could ever get away with and actively tickled Ritsu was his older brother, Shigeo. And occasionally Sho, which was becoming more common, though that was embarrassing just to think about. Momozo has been a… new addition to Ritsu’s “I actually enjoy your company more than an acquaintance” list.
Which had, once again, somehow turned into his “you’re allowed to tickle me without getting telekinetically slammed into a wall (on purpose)” list.
What’s worse was Momozo’s telepathy; it had unintentionally caused Ritsu to allow himself to be more honest with the brunette, which meant not being able to keep up his totally serious and responsible front all the time. The invisible threat of his thoughts and emotions being free to read created a nervousness in Ritsu, making him state more things outright instead of trying to cover them up like he normally would.
Which also meant revealing a more playful side not often seen by anyone, other than his older brother and family.
Hence the situation at hand.
“L-let me go!”
Speaking of telepathy, the more excited a person got usually meant the louder their thoughts got, both subconscious and not. And esper’s thoughts tended to stand out more to Momozo’s hearing in general, though he wasn't sure why. Probably some sort of weird power energy thing.
At least he wasn’t doing it on purpose when he heard ‘Oh my god just do it already this is awful this is so embarrassing he's so-’
“You could very easily get away if you wanted to, Kageyama.”
Ritsu let out an indignant growl. It was anything but intimidating.
He flusteredly spat out, “You’re so annoying!” and what Momozo also hears is ‘Please don’t make me admit it-’
He sighed almost fondly; he had been pretty mean, what with knowing how much anticipation got to the other boy. Maybe it was time to do what he had actually planned to after getting bored with his phone and work…
Ritsu let out another squeaky yelp as he finally felt the hands around his sides squeeze firmly, the hypersensitivity from being on edge having built up to the point where he couldn’t stop the first surge of laughter to cascade from his lips. It was slightly high-pitched, but still boyish and sporadic and somehow so perfectly Ritsu.
But if there's something else that is most definitely Ritsu, it’s being stubborn as all hell when he feels like it. So, instead of fighting back (which Momozo would make a point of bringing up later), the younger boy smacked a hand over his smiling mouth, muffling his laughter as he instinctively squirmed away from the fingers kneading into his sides once more. He tried weakly to roll from side to side in an attempt to dodge Momozo’s hands, which followed him no matter where he went.
“Aw c’monnnn, it’s no fun if you don’t laugh…”
Ritsu shook his head, shoulder bouncing ever so slightly with the laughter that was being held back.
Okay, new tactic, then.
Momozo took a moment to focus more than he had been previously, staring at the boy underneath him with a menacing grin as he projected his own thoughts:
‘I know you want to laugh. Come on come on come on just laughhh you are so boring-’
Ritsu jumped from the startle (he would never quite get used to that power), and let out a few muted giggles behind his hand, narrowing his eyes at the other boy as if to challenge him. He thought back, loud and clear,
‘Eat shit-’ Before very clearly stifling a laugh at whatever look just crossed Momozo’s face.
“Alright, jackass. If you want to be like that then…"
At first glance, most if not all people would not expect Takenaka Momozo to be a “playful” individual; he was cocky when comfortable, sure. Stand-offish, socially anxious, and hardly ever outright playful. In the same way the telepath was allowed to see a realer version of Ritsu, Ritsu was shown a different side of the former as well. And, in all honesty, he regards this fact fondly.
…Except right now.
The raven-haired boy only had time to exclaim a quick “NO!-” before he fell into louder laughter, audible even behind the hand clasped over his mouth. The cause of this laughter of course being the fingers that were once kneading into his sides moving to massage his lower ribs instead; even being so kind as to pay special attention to the sweet spot between the two lowest ribs, causing Ritsu to arch his back upwards and let out what could only be considered a squeal. His face was most definitely burning up now.
“Wow, was that a squeal dude? Forgot how ticklish you are…” Momozo noted nonchalantly, the teasing lilt in his normally aloof voice driving Ritsu mad.
“Shuhut UP! I’m nohot even thahat- NAHA-!”
Whatever Ritsu was about to say was very rudely interrupted by another even higher-pitched round of laughter. Momozo was quick to disprove Ritsu’s claim by turning back and squeezing one of the latter’s knees; he narrowly avoided being kicked while Ritsu’s torso leapt forward instinctively before falling back against the bed. His body had very nearly gone limp, as it did when worse spots were targeted.
Ah, right, he really didn’t have much of a tolerance to strong tickling. Momozo smirked.
“Not even that huh? Didn’t catch that.”
“OKAY OKAY OKAHAHAY IHI’M SORRY! TAKE! SHIHIHIT-”
The slip of the nickname went unnoticed by the laughing boy, and if Momozo’s chest fluttered just the tiniest bit, he ignored it. Instead, he opted for being nice enough to move from the bad spot, bringing his hands up to skitter his short nails over Ritsu’s stomach through his unfortunately thin long sleeve t-shirt.
Ritsu fell into a fit of incredibly bubbly and distinguishably not serious giggles, legs instinctively kicking as he shot his hands out to hold Momozo’s wrists now that the dam of laughter had already been broken. However, that was more so to steady himself than to really fight back, and both boys knew this; it was already too late for him to put up a fight, and he was definitely laughing too hard. Ritsu naturally refused to acknowledge this. Momozo, on the other hand…
“Stohohop looking ahat me like- like thahahat!”
“What’re you gonna do? Push my hands away?”
"Shuhut UHUHUP!"
"Hm, that was kind of rude." Momozo responded calmly as he casually massaged the small bit of pudge Ritsu always had on his tummy that he "definitely should have grown out of." Not that he had time to think about that currently, though, considering the endless waves of giggling laughter that made it hard for him to form any coherent sentences.
The brunette continued to attack his friend’s stomach with no signs of letting up any time soon; he switched unpredictably between squishing around the softer area and spidering his fingers, sneaking his hands just the tiniest bit under the end of Ritsu’s now rumpled up t-shirt to scribble over the spot just beneath the shorter boy’s navel. A spot that, without fail, always made him kick and hiccup-laugh like there was no tomorrow.
At this point, Ritsu's thoughts had turned into a sort of jumbled and mostly incoherent mess, which wasn't anything foreign to Momozo. Sometimes thoughts were less of… thoughts, and more so feelings. And the only intense feeling radiating off of Ritsu was 'It tickles it tickles it tickles so BAD-'
The ticklish shocks running through Ritsu’s body were the only thing he could focus on as he shook his head back and forth, feeling how his cheeks were burning up and how the butterflies in his stomach just refused to let up. It was like an unbearable but pleasant electricity coursing through his nerves, starting at his stomach and spreading through his body before all collecting at one point in his chest; the place where the uncontrollable laughter flowed freely from his mouth.
Despite his brain’s natural reactions to the sensations, Ritsu really didn’t mind the feeling. In all honesty, he quite enjoyed being tickled; it allowed for a certain sense of vulnerability he had always had a hard time showing, a way for him to feel comfortable enough to laugh and smile freely. Though his stamina could only last so long, especially as someone who isn’t fully used to being tickled.
The younger boy didn’t seem to notice at first that the ticklish sensations on his stomach had ceased, catching his breath as he let out the rest of his breathy titters.
After a moment, Ritsu glanced up and made eye contact with Momozo, who to anyone else would have seemed bored; but Ritsu wasn't anyone, and caught the small smile still resting on his lips, likely mirroring his own unconscious one. A smile he quickly tried to cover up by glaring daggers at the boy above him.
What he would've give to wipe that stupid smile away with-
"You good?" Momozo asked, thankfully cutting off wherever that train of thought was headed.
Ritsu broke the eye contact bashfully, needing to look at anything other than the stupid genuine expression on the boy leaning over him because that's embarrassing and this is embarrassing.
Speaking of embarrassing, he quickly pulled his hands away from around Momozo's wrists, opting to cross his arms instead and pretend he didn't look like a toddler pouting at the moment.
"Alright, solid answer."
"So are you going to get off of me now, or what?"
"Dunno." Momozo shrugged. Ritsu bristled.
"What do you mean you don't know??"
"Do you want me to?"
"...You're a jerk."
The brunette couldn't help but chuckle. While his boredom had most definitely been cured, he knew they were both having far too much fun to go back to focusing on homework anyway. Well, Ritsu probably could, 'Like the nerd he is.' Momozo noted to himself.
He was pulled away from those brief thoughts by Ritsu's suddenly much less flustered tone of voice (which definitely couldn't be good) as he asked,
"Hey Takenaka."
"...'Sup?"
Ritsu grinned.
"I'm bored."
In the moment it took the latter to realize what Ritsu was getting at, he was already too late.

I think my favorite aspect of the Dark Tournament is the High Stakes behind it!
Like Chapter Black is my favorite arc of YYH BUT I can't deny how amazing of an arc the Dark Tournament Arc is, especially with its place in anime history.
But getting back to what I said before; I really like how high in tension this arc is for all the good guys involved, ESPECIALLY compared to other anime.
Like unlike other Tournament Arcs, the other characters' lives weren't at stake if they didn't compete. For example; in Naruto, if he didn't compete in the Chunin Exams, Naruto wouldn't die if he didn't compete. In Dragon Ball, Goku's life wasn't in stake if he didn't compete in the World Martial Arts Tournament. In One Piece, if Luffy didn't compete in the Dressrosa Tournament, he wouldn't lose his life BUT in Yu Yu Hakusho; Yusuke and Co. were pretty much forced into fighting in the Dark Tournament and if they didn't, not only would THEY die but any and everyone they KNOW. NOT everyone they care about but everyone they KNOW. For Yusuke, he'd lose his Mom, Keiko, Mr. Takenaka and etc. For Kuwabara, he'd lose his sister and parents. For Hiei, he'd lose Yukina and Kurama would lose his human family.
What I'm trying to say is the Dark Tournament is a DAMN GREAT ARC!!

Got bored so I decided to watch Yu Yu Hakusho anime on Netflix.
I'm on epsiode four and so far I will say this:
the wake scene made me cry,
fuck the teachers of Yusuke's school... except for Mr. Takenaka, we stan him,
Kuwabara is awesome in his own, pompadour-sporting way,
I was kinda expecting something more in line of traditional supernatural anime, but so far it's more of a slice-of-life kind with ghosts sprinkled here and there... and I kinda like it (the way I liked that My Hero Academia S1 concentrained more on school activities than the overarching plot).

I’m not sayin anything bad about Mr Takenaka, I’m just saying it was Weird.
And it wouldn’t have to sound weird if you’d stop giving them other phrases to use—
Like I said, I’d you’re gonna upgrade his vocab, upgrade his wardrobe too.

You see, if Shou had left with his mother from the very beginning, I think things could’ve become far worse.
Shigeo had two non-esper parents that couldn’t help him figure out his powers and struggled, eventually hurting his brother and ends up with a bit of trauma.
Teru probably didn’t have esper parents either because he lives on his own, suggesting his parents must’ve left him in fear. Then he went to grow an ego larger than Seasoning City itself.
Takenaka probably didn’t have esper parents and had issues handling his telepathy, causing him immense amount of pain and stress.
And the Awakening Lab kids? Far too underdeveloped in skills and two out of five of them have gone a bit egotisical with their powers.
So what I’m saying is, if Shou had left with his mom, he wouldn’t have learnt how to properly use his powers.
Would further explain, but I don’t really know how lol.
