Mr. Crocket is like a mix of a million different things into one movie but I really do like it.

There’s something about the theme of normalized abuse, the step father who yells and threatens his wife’s son at the dinner table, the woman at the funeral who tells Summer she needs to start beating her child to “get him to act right” hours after burying his father, Summer struggling to be patient and perfect as a single patent with a child who isn’t even understanding his dad died and is acting out. The fact even Mr. Crocket himself was a victim of abuse at the hand of his father.

This TV show being a literal escape only for children who are in abusive and neglectful households is interesting. This very relatable concept for a lot of us who used music or video games or tv to escape parents screaming in the next room or to try and forget abuse or bullying we experienced.

This idea of escapism not always being the best route how avoiding and disappearing isn’t the coping mechanism to get through these things. That these kids all needed real help and ways to work through what they’re feeling, Crocket causing more harm than good by making these kids as violent as he became. Possibly dooming them to become abusers the same way their fathers were.

Yk i saw a lot on twitter abt Mr Crocket being like Amanda the Adventurer but why must we pit them against each other? Mr Crocket would fucking destroy Hameln day ONE of knowing Amanda he’d rock up there with nothing but his fists and everyone would be dead on the pavement

I just think Mr Crocket would be a good adopted second dad for Amanda since the other one (Sam) is probably very dead

If you like horror based off of childhood nostalgia I recommend watching Mr Crocket. Good sympathetic villain, some nice puppet work, interesting ideas to chew over...a really fun watch overall. It started off as a short and got made into a full thing and I'm glad it did lol

It's a flawed film, but it's deliciously corny, over the top, and gruesome. Also, Elvis Nolasco is phenomenal as the titular Mr. Crocket, a hilariously unhinged version of Mr. Rogers with the powers of Samara from The Ring.

I've really wanted to see this. Also it's rated 18!!! Yaaaaaas

It's annoying that there was little to no hype for this film. I only found out about it via Instagram reels. I only found out it on there coz I scrolled through Disney+

new movie review is up! this time I checked out the Hulu original horror film, Mr. Crocket! I’m always excited for horror movies with black casts and directors, so I was really curious about this one.

I watched Mr Crocket for the first time last night and it’s one of my favourite horror movies of all time. It’s just great, I’m absolutely rewatching it tonight, and I want to see more people talking about such an amazing movie - also there’s no fanfiction yet, which makes me sad because I think Mr Crocket could become a cult classic!
