Your matchup is: Komori Motoya
How you met: At an MSBY fan meet. You’re a pretty big volleyball fan and enjoy playing the sport regularly. Somehow, you were lucky enough to score a ticket to the fanmeet for one of your favorite teams in the league (You’re torn between EJP Raijin and MSBY Black Jackals). The line for the event is pretty long, and while you’re waiting you strike up conversation with your line neighbor, talking about different players in the league He seems oddly familiar and you can’t really put your finger on where you recognize him from, since he’s wearing a facemask. It isn’t until you’re at the table shaking hands with Hinata Shoyo and you hear your neighbor go “Kiyoomi!” only for Sakusa to respond with “Keep it down Motoya.” Wait. Motoya..? AS IN KOMORI MOTOYA? Anyways, Komori sees your eyes widen as you stare at him in shock and sheepishly comments “Ah, you caught me.” At the end of the event you don’t expect Komori to ask you for your number, but the two of you exchange contact info. What can he say, Komori enjoyed your laid back personality + passion for volleyball.
Your first date: The two of you text back and forth for a couple days. His teammates and his cousins warn him to be cautious, but you’re always polite over text, and never pry into anything he feels uncomfortable sharing. He’s finding that he’s enjoying your company over text and calls, and feels that going on at least one date with you won’t do anyone any harm (if anything he’d be ecstatic if you agreed to go on said date). He asks if you want to have lunch at Onigiri Miya and you agree. You’re not really sure what to expect, but Komori surprises you by keeping the lunch super chill. He kind of forgot to tell you it was a date, so you don’t really realize until he’s like, “where do you want to go for our second date?” really casually and you both have a freakout moment where you realize none of you ever established this was a date? (You’ll laugh about this later.) Anyways, you settle your plans with him, with promises for an at home movie marathon next week.
Your first kiss: Very casual and spontaneous. Komori invites you over to his place, of course telling you to go through the back door of the dorms since he doesn’t want you to get caught up with any lurking fans or have your picture taken by the media (he doesn’t want to scare you off 🥺). But he gets really excited just waiting for you to come over so the minute he hears the doorbell ring he’s flinging his front door open and it kinda just happens? He’s on autopilot because he’s so happy to see you again so he doesn’t really think before he’s leaning towards your lips for a kiss. No tongue, but definitely longer than a peck, and it’s really sweet because he has an arm around your waist while his other hand cups your cheek.
Anniversary: If you’re okay with it, he’d like to go public with your relationship. While people have been aware for a while that he’s dating, he’s been careful not to reveal your identity before you’re ready, especially since volleyball fans can get really intense. The most he’ll do is include your silhouette or hands in some of his photos on social media, but for the most part you two enjoy your lives outside of the limelight. Of course, sometimes having to plan routes and bend over backwards to avoid the press + fans can get exhausting, so he asks if he can post a photo on your anniversary. It’s a very simple caption ‘thank you for 2 years’ and a selfie of you two grinning at the camera while holding up your favorite boba orders from a date a few months ago. Anyways after that all your phones/devices are on mute and the two of you enjoy a fun video game night with face masks and TLC. Of course the night is not complete without boba, snacks and some takeout. He takes way more selfies that are for his and your eyes only, because he loves having photos to remind him of all the happiness you’ve brought into his life.
How they propose: After a game, in the private waiting room/outside the locker rooms. Everyone who is important to you and him are there - his teammates, Kiyoomi (He invited Sakusa to the game and his cousin obliged bc he knew that this was an important moment), your friends and family (he’d sneakily given them all tickets + post-game special access passes to the game). You thought you were just doing the usual and heading towards the locker rooms to congratulate your boyfriend on his win before heading out for dinner. But instead when you reach the hallway, all your loved ones are standing there, and they are all holding up little posters that have photos from all your dates/anniversaries/years together with Komori on them. Once you’re close enough, they part like the Red Sea, revealing Komori, kneeling in front of you with a ring and looking at you with so much adoration in his eyes. He doesn’t even have to say anything, you’re already sobbing yes and tackling him into a hug.
What your wedding looks like: I feel like you two are both really nonchalant about the guest list/how many people come - like whoever can make it can make it. Of course, between the two of you being super friendly and keeping in contact with literally everyone, you send out a bunch of invitations (you swear Komori invites half of the V-league and then some) but it ends up being a really fun wedding! I feel like you guys would definitely be a summer wedding with a sunflower aesthetic - either there’s a field of sunflowers nearby or sunflowers are the centerpiece of your decorations. It’s a cheerful flower that represents your happy and shiny relationship :) Both of you would insist on having people play party games at the reception because you want to have fun at your wedding.
Newlywed/domestic hc: You and Komori become THAT brunch/party couple - you guys love hosting parties/gatherings for the EJP Raijin team, and also small get-togethers with high school classmates/teammates, family etc. You have a big house (courtesy of that V-league pay + your own job) and have multiple guest rooms + pull out couches for people to stay on. After your house clears out - the two of you will be cleanin out a guest room when he just says “Imagine when we can turn this into a playroom” or “imagine when this will be a little one’s bedroom” and you two just spend the afternoon imagining your future family together.

Author Interview
tagged by @theputterer -- thank you :)
Name: Liz
Fandoms: In terms of posted fics, mainly Rogue One and Star Wars (OT). I have at least one fic posted in A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones, Community, and Howl’s Moving Castle (book). But I also like The Clone Wars and Rebels. I’ve been reading mainly ATLA fic for the past couple weeks.
Where you post: AO3 and sometimes here on tumblr. There are a few drabbles I’ve posted on tumblr that I really ought to crosspost on AO3 for posterity.
Most popular one-shot: “In Which Sophie is Late, and Howl Noses Around in Her Business” (Howl’s Moving Castle) With 698 kudos. Uh. Wow. I was not expecting that! It’s literally my only HMC fic (although I do technically have other unfinished drafts) and it’s not even a year old, and surpassed my second most popular one-shot which was posted in 2015. Pregnancy trope is popular I guess. It is amusing to me that my most popular one-shot is not in my favorite OTP fandom (rebelcaptain). Howl’s Moving Castle ended up having a wider audience than I anticipated.
Also as a disclaimer, but popularity is weird to gauge because do you go by hits or kudos or comments? I went with kudos because hits could count people who clicked on my story and then didn’t like it. But it’s hard because hits also include re-reads, so, idk.
Most popular multi-chapter fic: “The Last Stark” (A Song of Ice and Fire) 815 kudos. This was finished in 2013 so it’s had plenty of time to accumulate the kudos. It’s a Gendrya Anastasia AU (“Aryastasia” was my working title for this one lol). So again, popular trope, in a popular fandom, in a popular ship. This fic is so old when I reread it, I usually find myself wanting to edit it, especially the ending. I was so ready to be done writing this that I think I rushed the ending. Oh well, writing plots is really difficult!
Fic you were nervous to post: Every fic? lol. I’m never not nervous to post a fic. But I’m definitely more nervous posting in a fandom for the first time. So posting “Whatever I Do (I Do It To Protect You)” (Rogue One, rebelcaptain) was pretty nervewracking, especially since it’d been awhile since I posted anything. [OOOH, fun fact, but WID celebrated it’s 4 year anniversary yesterday! Ha, that’s funny.] I was working on this fic for weeks before I posted it.
I was also super nervous to post my Jeff/Annie Community soulmate AU, “Intro to Neurochemical Compatibility” because (a) first time posting in that fandom, (b) I decided to use script format which I know is not everyone’s jam, and (c) the premise is just so ridiculous! But I had fun with it.
Also gift exchanges are always nerve-wracking because I worry the giftee won’t like it. My giftee never responded to my 2020 rebelcaptain secret santa fic so I’m actually constantly worrying that they didn’t like it and feeling bad that I failed them. :/
How you choose your titles: with so much agonizing. gosh it’s so hard and honestly i have so many titles that i hate. I’ve got a couple song lyric titles. a couple quotes. a couple “how to...” apparently that was a whole phase I went through. Either the titles come to me immediately, or I put off choosing a title until the absolutely moment I need to post it, and then spend hours agonizing over a quote/song lyric/phrase that fits and probably begging others for help.
Do you outline: YES. Possibly overly so. I’ve ran into issues in the past, when I was much younger, where I didn’t resolve problems proposed early in the story. So I need to know where the story is going in order to lay the proper groundwork. Also, if I do not write things down I forget them five minutes later. I also think outlining is a useful trick to jumpstart writing, so if the muse just isn’t present, I’ll try to lure her out by outlining.
Complete: 19 fics.
In progress: Oh boy this is so hard to count. As far as what’s posted? Technically only one: “How to Lose a Spy in 10 Days” (Rogue One, rebelcaptain). Despite the fact that I think the deadline was extended multiple time, I procrastinated and ended up rushing chapter one to meet the rebelcaptain rom-com challenge deadline. Didn’t really have a proper outline for this one, even though I knew vaguely what I wanted it to be about. I wrote chapter two but I hated what I wrote so I ... I kinda abandoned it. I mean technically, I never consider a work abandoned, I always intend to get back to it. Some day when I have the inspiration I will. But this idea ended up being a challenge I didn’t feel ready for at the time, and then my interest moved on to other ideas.
I also had a longer story planned for “you must become an island (the horizon is all we have)” but only posted one part of it to finish it on time. Ideally this fic would be part of a series, but again, motivation is needed so we’ll see
Technically I have 22 rebelcaptain ideas alone (including some listed in this post) at various states of completed, plus a handful of Community and HMC ideas. Of the ones I’m most interested in, there’s probably about 14 that I really hope to finish and post some day.
ETA: omg i totally forgot that i was idly considering trying to finish my rebelcaptain soulmate AU in time for Valentine’s Day, but at this point I haven’t had any motivation to write so I don’t think that’s gonna happen. that fic has been sitting in my drafts since 2018 and in my drafts it will continue to sit.
Coming soon: “soon” is relative but these are currently the ones I’ve focused the most on recently:
Fencing AU (rebelcaptain)
You’ve Got Mail AU (rebelcaptain)
Post-War Fic with @allatariel (rebelcaptain, plus a LOT of other ships, includes Rebels characters, OT characters, and... maybe some others :) )
Palm Springs/time loop AU (Jeff/Annie)
Do you accept prompts: Wellllll here’s the thing. When I’ve asked for prompts, I haven’t been the best at fulfilling them in a timely manner. For that reason, I don’t encourage prompts but I’m not opposed to them. (I suppose technically exchange fics are prompts, and I wrote a bunch of fics in 2017 for rebelcaptainprompts, but I’m not gonna count those because I don’t think that’s what the question here is really going for)
“The Climb (A Lie, A Hero)” (Rogue One, rebelcaptain) was actually a prompt.
I solicited prompts for my birthday in 2019, which I didn’t end up fulfilling until exactly one year later.
Technically the You’ve Got Mail AU is a prompt, someone prompted me to write a fic for my favorite go-to comfort movie.
And, uh, the certain someone who tagged me for this meme prompted me in a comment back in October 2017 to do a Luke and Leia swap where Leia grows up on Tatooine, so that is sitting in my WIP list.
Yeah, this is why I don’t solicit or encourage prompts. The return rate is just not fair for the prompter.
Upcoming story you are most excited to write: this fluctuates on any given day. the fencing AU is so close to being done (well the first draft anyways) so i really really want to just finish it! But yeah it’d be anything on the coming soon list above.
tagging: @allatariel, @cats-and-metersticks, @lothcatlovesysalamiri, @veritascara, @brynnmclean and anyone who sees this and wants to do it! also ofc per usual no pressure if u don’t want to.

Cracked Ribs and Old Promises -
TSS Analogical superhero/villain au fic
Warnings: mentions of trouble eating, anxiety, dark/misguided Roman, severe injury, let me know if i should add more!
Thank you to @the-modern-typewriter for the scenario prompt that inspired me to write this!!
“The Knight had been going after anyone he could deem evil, and it had gotten to the point that The Knight had to be leashed in, forced into a league of heros to keep him from going wild. It slowed him down in the end, yes, however, not for good.
Why did Virgil know this, you might ask?”
A new Superhero in town was quickly becoming known for his super strength, and ability to pull objects temporarily from thin air, his chosen name? The Knight. Dressed in galiant and knightly garb and known to speak like a true fairytale prince.
He was also known for constantly disrupting the balance code between villains and heroes.
Some villains were labeled dangerous, others not so much, some were simply suspicious, others weren’t quite villains by definition. Some of those that had powers chose to avoid the hero scene, with the sad disadvantage of being mistaken as having suspicious intents with secrecy. The Knight had been going after anyone he could deem evil, and it had gotten to the point that The Knight had to be leashed in, forced into a league of heros to keep him from going wild. It slowed him down in the end, yes, however, not for good.
Why did Virgil know this, you might ask?
He knew this because The Knight had recently zeroed in on him, a bystander to most, but a non-threatening villain to those few heroes who knew of him. Perhaps, though, he was more of a vigilante, bordering hero terms but always mistaken for a villain. What could he say? Black and purple looked good on him!
Perhaps it was because The Knight had zeroed in on his powers, apparently no one was good if they had control over shadows and darkness, right? The Knight’s morals always seemed too black and white, nevertheless, The Knight seemed to trail him wherever he went. It was a surprise that The Knight didn’t assault him at work or at home.
Seriously, as if Virgil didn't have enough of an anxiety disorder as it was!
Still, there were upsides to it all. The Knight was in a league with a couple of nicer superheroes, ones that spared him or directed The Knights agressions away from him. In fact, one of Virgil’s favorite superheros from that bunch was his own ‘nemesis,’ L.O.G.(Logical Omni Genius, though only Virgil knew that). Truly, there was very little rivalry between them, in fact it bordered on companionship.
Their first fight had been one of wits, moves, and careful actions. Riddles and brain teasers, ‘answer me this and I won’t shut down the factory’s powergrid’ questions and more. There was little aggression, nor any hostility. L.O.G. knew of Virgil’s environmentally friendly motives, or at least learned about them quickly. In all reality, L.O.G. took place in making sure Virgil's plans were both foolproof and harmless to the people it would affect. Virgil even had a little sense of pride in that L.O.G had verbally deemed him a worthy ‘nemesis.’ Still, Virgil was a villain, if only because he could no longer bother the breath to defend himself from having the label.
Today, though. Today was different.
Virgil had nothing but his shadows, he was built for stealth, for mind games, for eliciting existential fear. Virgil was not built to fight, no, he actually bruised very easily, he couldn’t even throw a proper punch despite L.O.G.’s best attempts to teach him self defense. Virgil really wasn’t built to be the villain people made him out to be.
The Knight, for whatever reason, was more fired up than ever to get at him this time. Virgil had been cornered on his route to visit the site of his next strike, weaponless and with nothing but his mask to hide his identity. Well, it wasn’t like Virgil needed weapons, of course, but a holstered dagger sounded great right about now, anything to defend himself from The Knight’s wrath!
From the get go, The knight had already managed a solid surprise punch to the back of his shoulder, he would be surprised if his shoulder wasn’t dislocated already from that one hit alone. Thankfully though, Virgil(or, in his current situation, ‘Nightmare’) didn’t need his shoulder to control the surrounding evening shadows.
The Knight didn’t take kindly to that, growling out rude comments about Virgil’s very existence. Virgil tried to remain in his calm, sarcastic demeanor, firing back witty remarks and snide comments to keep Roman distracted while he formulated an escape plan. Virgil hadn’t eaten well in the past few days due to the stress, so his energy was almost too low to use his shadows to teleport himself, so that was saved as a thread to grasp as a last resort.
Still, though, The Knight had cornered him good, thankfully but also sadly away from civilian life, away from superhero patrol routes, away from anything that could have saved Virgil if he had just begun screaming for help. There was no way out.
The Knight was quickly losing patience with Nightmare, tired of the wordplay and tired of the mind games. All too soon The Knight had Nightmare in his grasp, ignoring how frail and light the villain was as he tossed the man around, expecting the real fight to start. But it didn’t, no shadows came to attack him, but instead worked to cushion each blow, or fall that was administered to the shadowy villain.
He was getting angry, why wasn’t this awful villain fighting back!
The Knight finally tossed Nightmare against a close by brick wall, trying to ignore the sickening thud of the man collapsing to the ground. Thankfully, the man was still breathing, and even struggling to sit up. Still alive, that was good.
“Some chivalrous Knight you turned out to be..” Virgil muttered, though not really expecting the other to hear him.
“You are one to talk, you vile Villain.” The ‘hero’ spat back.
“God, oh chivalrous one, if you hate my guts so much why haven’t you killed me yet? Poor taste, I’m tellin ya, leaving an injured animal in its misery.” Virgil joked sarcastically, growing tired of the other drawing out these exchanges. There was no doubt that a few of his ribs were cracked, and his right shoulder was definitely dislocated now, a possible fracture or brake on the same arms wrist. He didn’t even want to consider the hell that was going to be hiding the bruises at work, if he could even make it that far. He just wanted to get home already.
However, Virgil’s choice of words rung out in the air, and for the first time the prince was silent, staring at him with a mix of unreadable emotions. The next few words out of The Knight’s mouth as his eyes narrowed at Virgil made his blood run cold.
“You know what? Maybe I will.” Next thing Virgil knows, there's a sharp sword in the other’s grip, and hes stalking solemnly up to the injured villain.
Panic seizes Virgil, flooding his senses and throwing his frazzled mind into overdrive. Shadows zip around him, coalescing around him as his physical body quickly fades to teleport, but not before seeing The Knight running at him with the sword drawn. The danger recedes as his body dissipates.
“Where now?” The shadows ask him.
He responds, weakly, “Safety.”
He expects to be deposited in front of his home, where he can curl up and sleep the pain off, and perhaps take a trip to the doctor to investigate his wounds. Expects a night of weak painkillers and an uncomfortable couch, an aching chest and another lonely, hungry 24 hours.
What he doesn’t expect, is to be softly placed in front of L.O.G.’s private lair’s door. Despite the confusion and disorientation, Virgil knows his time is limited before he blacks out and is really put in danger, so he stumbles up and presses the right button to be let in. L.O.G’s hyper intelligent A.I(aptly named Data) system’s voice answers the call.
“Hello, Nightmare. Welcome back.” Virgil sags against the side of the wall, wheezing a bit as his exhaustion finally hits.
“Hey, Data. I-is L.O.G home?”
“Negative.”
Virgil curses, “Do I have permission to enter?”
“What is your reason for this emergency?” L.O.G’s only rule for Virgil entering the lair without himself present was that it had to be an emergency, and Data was simply confirming to inform L.O.G of said emergency upon his return.
“Critical injury, as well as imminent threat of blacking out in about 7 minutes, 10 tops.” Virgil wheezed, and was grateful that Data asked no more questions to let him enter. He stumbled inside, thankful to be in a safe environment to black out in.
“Nightmare, do you require any assistance? You are disoriented, I could assist you.” Her voice was calm, obviously concerned that Virgil was going to drop dead. In all reality, Virgil’s energy had just been overused. The recliner looked tempting, but his ribs ached at the thought, he needed to lay flat.
“Is there a bed anywhere?” He asked, hoping that he wouldn’t have to sprawl out on the floor.
“Yes, let me bring it out of the wall for you.” Data’s voice was calming to his rapid beating heart. He watched with a bit of amusement as a panel slid down from a wall to reveal an extra room, set with a bare bed and a dresser, some posters and even a pile of folded clean clothes yet to be put away. “You can rest here until L.O.G. returns from his current patrol. Feel free to ‘yoink’ one of L.O.G’s hoodies if you feel so inclined, so that you do not get cold. I can assume you do not have the energy nor the time to make the bed before blacking out.” Virgil snickered softly, knowing data’s verbal slang was his own doing. Still, Data was right, he was most certainly running out of time.
Slowly trudging up the few small stairs to the opened room, he expressed his gratitude to Data before he lost the energy to talk. He made quick work of a deep blue hoodie, not even bothering to take his roughed up suit-top off when considering how much effort and pain it took to even pick up the hoodie and put it on.
He was lucid enough to toe his boots off, but at that point, the edges of his vision were darkening, and he knew he needed to lay down quickly. Carefully, he laid down flat on his back, distantly thankful for L.O.G’s choice in memory foam, adjusting the hood over his eyes and attempting to get comfortable. It took another minute before Virgil’s vision gave in, and he was out like a light for the next three hours to recharge his energy from overusing his ability.
….
….
Logan was glad that this patrol had been one of information gathering rather than of action. It was something he could do well and keep himself occupied while the others were off doing who knew what. Most currently, no one seemed to be up to much, not even his nemesis, whom he hadn’t heard from in just under a week.
Now that the patrol was over, everyone was returning to their secondary abodes/lairs to recharge for the night, considering how late it was. In fact, Logan was anticipating coming home to a quiet, normal morning, perhaps even with the chance to read more of his current book. What he had not expected, was for Data to greet him as L.O.G. at the door, instead of Logan.
That meant only one thing.
“I must inform you that Nightmare is currently resting within your bedroom, and to be careful not to spook him.” Logan barely registered why, striding up into the lair to find his nemesis resting in his bed. No contact for a full week, not even a hello, and Nightmare is resting in his bed.
He got so far as to reach out and rest his hand on the vigilante’s shoulder, expecting him to awaken with a start. To his surprise, the man whimpered but otherwise did not wake.
Strange.
“Data. What was Nightmare’s reason for entry?” Now that Logan was getting a good look at the other, he noticed a bruise peeking out on Virgil’s neck, and another poking out from Virgil’s hand. He knew the other bruised easily, but these were dark and fresh and angry, a worrying combination.
“To recite the recording exactly,” Data began, before switching over to the recording of Nightmare’s labored and pained voice, “Critical injury, as well as imminent threat of blacking out in about 7 minutes, 10 tops.”
“When did he get here?” Logan took notice of Virgil’s breathing, each breath still labored as if it hurt to expand his chest. Normally Nightmare was the type to curl up no matter the position or place of rest. Seeing the other laying flat out and stock still was highly concerning. “About two hours and 34 minutes ago. I am sensing concern, L.O.G., if it helps, a body scan of Nightmare’s current health indicates that it is stabilizing and not depleting.” Logan nodded.
Nightmare was experiencing an energy blackout, which meant that he would be out for the next 30 minutes to an hour, likely the latter due to his injuries. For now though, Logan draped a blanket over his injured companion and set to work on preparing a late meal and some coffee. Sleep would not be an option tonight.
He’d settled on a frozen pizza, it being too late to make a full meal. He set aside a tall glass of water and strong painkillers before he forgot, then had Data upload and present his league’s daily task logins for the week as well as send out a request to his league’s best healer, Patton, for possible assistance, looking for something to do to pass the time. He was much too stressed to read for leisure now.
He felt his eye twitch as Roman’s log sheet remained a mess, knowing he’d have to sit down and force Roman to fill it out correctly before lecturing him on why he was in the league in the first place. Strangely, Roman’s current log for the day remained blank, which was for one, against the rules. And secondly, entirely unlike Roman. He’d ask Roman about it later, and hope that Roman did not go completely awall.
Logan manages to busy himself until Nightmare wakes up, eventually hearing Data answer to Nightmare’s soft question. There's a bit of shuffling, it taking much longer for Virgil to arrive into Logan’s kitchen than he would have liked to see.
“Goodmorning, V. Coffee?” Came Logan’s strained voice, the question was rhetorical, obviously. Virgil was hugging his right arm with his left, which was odd because it was always the opposite. Virgil said nothing in return, a guilty look passing over his pale face.
Indeed. Something was definitely wrong.
“Sit down.” Logan ordered, “You are not going anywhere until I’ve taken care of your wounds.”
Virgil complied without complaint, sitting slowly in a chair instead of on his usual counter perch. He waited, watching Logan pull out the pizza and set it out to cool after cutting it into slices. And yet, still, Logan’s silent questions did not get directed at him.
“You're not interrogating me? Or angry?”
“Oh no, I’m furious. But, shockingly, not at you.” Logan looked up, a fiercely passionate glint to his eyes as he stared at Virgil’s obviously injured wrist, unconsciously being cradled in his other arm.
“If I ask you what happened, you will run, won’t you?” Virgil could not confirm nor deny this, he wasn’t sure what he was going to do. The Knight was part of L.O.G.’s league, an obvious conflict of companionships and oaths. He looked up at Logan, and said nothing.
The unnerving silence from his usually snarky nemesis spoke plenty, Logan could tell his nonthreatening companion had been completely and utterly broken.
Justice behind bars for such a heinous act would not suffice for the rage Logan felt. And L.O.G. had a sneaking suspicion he knew just where he needed to begin.
“Data. Call Roman.”

An online marketplace (or online e-commerce marketplace) is a type of e-commerce site where product or service information is provided by multiple third parties. Online marketplaces are the primary type of multichannel ecommerce and can be a way to streamline the production process.
In an online marketplace, consumer transactions are processed by the marketplace operator and then delivered and fulfilled by the participating retailers or wholesalers. Other capabilities might include auctioning (forward or reverse), catalogs, ordering, wanted advertisement, trading exchange functionality and capabilities like RFQ, RFI or RFP. These type of sites allow users to register and sell single items to many items for a “post-selling” fee.
In general, because marketplaces aggregate products from a wide array of providers, selection is usually more wide, and availability is higher than in vendor-specific online retail stores.[1] Since 2014 online marketplaces have become abundant.[2] Some online market places have a wide variety of general interest products that cater to almost all the needs of the consumers, others are consumer specific and cater to a particular segment
Contents 1Online retailing 2For services and outsourcing 3The sharing economy 4Online marketing intermediaries 5Criticism 6Market economy 7See also 8References Online retailing Online marketplaces are information technology companies that act as intermediaries by connecting sellers and consumers. Examples of prevalent online marketplaces for retailing consumer goods and services are Amazon, Taobao and eBay, which cut its “buy-it-now” online auction fee in 2008. On the website of the online marketplace sellers can publish their product offering with a price and information on the product’s features and qualities. Potential customers can search and browse goods, compare price and quality, and then purchase the goods directly from the seller. The inventory is held by the sellers, not the company running the online marketplace. Online marketplaces are characterized by a low setup cost for sellers, because they do not have to run a retail store. For consumers, online marketplaces reduce the search cost, but insufficient information on the quality of goods and an overloaded goods offering can make it more difficult for consumers to make purchasing decisions. Consumers’ ability to make a purchasing decision is also hampered by the fact that an online marketplace only allows them to examine the quality of a product based on its description, a picture and customer reviews.[3]
For services and outsourcing There are marketplaces for the online outsourcing of professional services like IT services,[4] search engine optimization, marketing, and skilled crafts & trades work.[5]

I know I talk a lot on this blog about creating and selling digital products, but it is absolutely possible to find creative ways to make money selling physical products via your online business as well!
Currently, I have two ways that I make money selling physical products. My primary source of income from physical products comes from selling paperback journals using Amazon’s print on demand service. Here’s an example of my most recent journal.
A secondary source of physical product income comes from a t-shirt that I also sell on Amazon. I paid a graphic designer to create a shirt design for me a few years ago and I made it available for sale via Amazon Merch.
I make a few sales here and there. It’s not a significant source of income for me, but there are definitely people who have created full-time passive income selling shirts.
My physical product business is small time right now. In the near future, I plan to sell more journals and planners through my personal development brand. For now, I just love being inspired by the creative journeys of other mompreneurs rocking their physical product businesses.
Check out these physical products below being offered by some amazing women making their mark in the online business world!

For services and outsourcing There are marketplaces for the online outsourcing of professional services like IT services,[4] search engine optimization, marketing, and skilled crafts & trades work.[5]
The sharing economy In 2004 Yochai Benkler noted that online platforms, alongside free software and wireless networks, allowed households to share idle or underused resources.[6] As the sharing economy inspires itself largely from the open source philosophy,[7] open source projects dedicated to launching a peer to peer marketplace include Cocorico[8] and Sharetribe.[9] In 2010 CouchSurfing was constituted as for-profit corporation and by 2014 online marketplaces that consider themselves part of the sharing economy, such as Uber and Airbnb, organized in the trade association Peers.org.[10] In 2015 Alex Stephany, the founder of online marketplace JustPark, defined the sharing economy as the economic value arising from making underutilized assets available online. 6 Creative Ideas to Make Money Selling Physical Products By Kari Sayers Leave a Comment This post may be sponsored or contain affiliate links. Get Good Tips About Blogging Right Here
If the idea of blogging intimidates you, then perhaps you can reorganize your thoughts and see it as a journal or online conversation with those who you wish to communicate with. Decide what content you wish to present, then use the tips here to put your thoughts and insights in a form that works for your needs.
Choose a niche that you are passionate about. By doing this you will have a true interest in the things you are blogging about and this will reflect in your writing. It may sound silly but when you are passionate about the things you write about, your readers will be able to tell.
Create a themed blog according to what you are writing about. For example, if you have an agriculture blog, build your colors and theme around country roads and corn fields. Inspirational and Motivational Quotes  Colors that seem out of place will be more likely to turn people off from reading and enjoying your blog.
Be sure that you are taking adequate care of yourself. You want your writing to be fresh and exciting, and it is hard to think well when you are overly tired or hungry. While you are working, take breaks often to give your brain a chance to rest, and make sure that you are eating throughout the day.
Once your blog is established, have some guest posters write posts for your blog. This gives readers a fresh new perspective on your niche and allows you to benefit from knowledge you might not have. If you use your blog for marketing, you can use guest blogging as a promotional tie-in. Ask to guest post on other popular blogs in exchange for promoting your blog, while allowing others to do the same on your blog.
When running a blog, make sure that you ask open-ended questions. One of the most effective methods of getting people to respond to your posts is simply asking for it. Let your readers answer your questions by inviting them to respond with a comment. This makes them feel more engaged, which increases the odds that they'll stick with you.
Blogging is accessible to anyone with a presence on the internet, but only those who learn to use it effectively will reap the maximum benefits from this exciting new tool. Apply the insights you've learned here to get your blogging efforts off to a good start and then, cultivate your skills on a daily basis.

2018 Holiday Gift Guide for ‘Everyone Else’ on Your List
Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links, which means we receive a commission if you click a link and purchase something that we have recommended. Please check out our disclosure policy for more details.
With the holidays approaching fast, you’ve most likely made your list, checked it twice and hit every online and local retailer to find the perfect gift for your family and friends.
Before you check gift shopping off your holiday to-do list, here are a few more people you should add this year. From your child’s favorite teacher to the hairstylist who keeps you looking good, here’s a gift guide for everyone else who has made a difference in your life.
Teacher
Whether it’s your college professor or your child’s band instructor, teachers tackle many responsibilities that go far beyond educating. They’re often a mentor, a confidant, a tutor after school and the cheerleader in the stands.
For those who give so much, give the gift of relaxation, like cozy slippers to wear while grading papers, or a gift that will get some good use, like a gift card to use on necessary purchases or personal splurges.
Women’s Cozy Faux Fur Slipper Boot – $10
Floral Oil Diffuser – $24
“F in Exams” Book – $9
Modetro Ultra Slim Leak Proof Bento Lunchbox – $11
Amazon Gift Card – $50
Coworker
We often spend so much time with our coworkers that they start to feel like close friends and family. You might even see your coworkers more than your friends and family if you work a 9-to-5 job, Monday through Friday.
For the coworker that’s got your back on late-night projects and important presentations, show them you care this holiday season by decking out their desk with useful items like a desktop organizer or a space heater for the chilly days in the office.
Desktop Organizer and Phone Charging Station – $22
Portable Space Heater – $29
Portable Light Therapy Energy Lamp – $40
Cell Phone Grip and Stand – $15
Digital Photo Frame – $35
Boss
Like your coworkers, you might spend a lot of time with your boss that in turn develops a close relationship, much like a mentor and mentee. Even if you just view your boss as an authority figure, giving a gift could go a long way to show your appreciation.
For the leader of your team or the head of your company, don’t forget to show your boss that you’re thinking of them by giving them a special gift, like a leather wallet or watch, or something that they can enjoy after hours, like a cocktail kit.
Amazon Echo Dot – $20
Gourmet Coffee Basket – $45
Gin and Tonic Carry-On Cocktail Kit – $24
Fossil Leather Watch – $115
Leather Wallet/ Money Clip – $27
Hairstylist or Barber
They’re the ones who keep you looking fresh and stylish, encourage you to switch up your style or maybe save you from making a huge style faux pas. Yep, we’re talking about your hairstylist or barber.
A lot of people are committed to just one hairdresser, so they develop a relationship from sitting hours on end in their chair. If you’re close with your hairstylist or barber, show them you care by upgrading their toolkit or giving them the gift of relaxation after being on their feet all day.
Makeup Bags and Organizer – $5
Personalized Tan Leather Scissor Case – $30
Denim Work Apron – $57
Invisibobble Hair Ring – $8
Conair Foot and Pedicure Spa – $22
Mail Carrier
Mail carriers are the unsung heroes of our everyday lives. Rain or shine, you can count on your paper and packages to be delivered right to your door. Whether you’ve exchanged a few pleasantries in the past or don’t know your mail carrier’s name at all, surprise them this holiday season with a gift that acknowledges their hard work.
Since it’s the season for frigid temperatures and icy conditions, give your mail carrier some warm gloves, hand warmers or a tumbler that will keep their morning cup of coffee hot all day long.
40-Pack of Hand Warmers – $27
Orthotic Shoe Inserts – $19
YETI Insulated Tumbler – $30
Wireless In-Ear Headphones – $30
Knit Touch Tech Gloves – $5
Neighbors
Whether you’re living in an apartment or a house in a cul-de-sac, your neighbors play a more important role in your life than you think. They might keep you and your family safe through a neighborhood watch group or maybe they just go the extra mile and shovel your driveway when it snows.
Even if you’re not close to your neighbors, the holidays might be a great time to make some introductions. Head next door and bring popcorn, chocolate or (if you go the traditional route) a flower arrangement. You might even make a few new friends!
Godiva Advent Calendar Chocolates – $25
Custom Ornament – $9
Sleigh Flower Arrangement – $50
Funny Neighbors Doormat – $50
Santa Popcorn Tin – $36 – $62
Baby Sitter or Pet Sitter
Your baby sitter or pet sitter has your back, watching your little one or your four-legged fur baby. Baby sitters in particular play an active role in keeping your child safe, making sure they do their homework and reminding them to eat their greens.
Your baby sitter might even feel like part of the family, so be sure to give them a gift that shows your appreciation. Consider a few gifts that will help them relax, like a face mask or cozy slippers, or a gift that could get some good use, like a portable phone charger.

Portable Phone Charger – $100
Lapcos Variety Mask and Exfoliating Pad Set – $22
Mini Mani Month Nail Set – $59
Far Away from Close Sequined Moccasin Slippers – $78
Roommate
Whether you’re roommates by choice or by circumstance, this is a person who shares your space, so let them know you’re thinking of them this holiday season by giving them the perfect present.
It doesn’t matter if the space you’re sharing is cozy or cramped, gifts that can get some good use include cell phone chargers, noise-canceling headphones or a personalized mug.
12-Foot Long Charging Cable Cord – $16
Throw Blanket – $48
Shower Caddy – $15
Personalized Mug – $6
Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones – $30
Religious Leader
Your religious leader might be someone who mentors you at your church or an uplifting presence who encourages you throughout the week. It can also be a person of authority in your church who you know could use some relaxing during the holidays.
For the people who put others before themselves, give your religious leader a gift that takes care of them, like a meal subscription service to save grocery store trips or a pre-paid hotel room for their business or personal travels.
Hotel Travel Gift Card (Email Delivery) – $25 – $500
Personalized Engraved Journal – $26
2-Week Blue Apron Meal Subscription – $120
1-Year Audible Audio Book Subscription – $180
Inspirational Poster – $19
Others to Consider
Before you wrap up your holiday gift list, here are a few others you should consider adding. From your child’s school bus driver to your personal trainer that keeps you motivated and fit, show these individuals you care with a gift this holiday season.
Landlord: Chocolates and Wine Pairing – $45
Long-Distance Friend: Long Distance Friendship Lamp – $85 – $170
Personal Trainer: Nike Running Arm Band – $35
Bus Driver: School Bus Driver Ornament – $18
This holiday season, don’t forget about those on the outside of your inner circle who make a difference in your life. We hope this gave you some good ideas or at least a place to start your shopping list.

Here's What Happens When Your Life Becomes An Alt-Right Meme
Meet Kyle Chapman, aka "Based Stickman."
You might know him from this picture — taken at the recent violent political protests in Berkeley, California — which went pretty viral:
Or from the video of him breaking a wooden sign on the head of an anti-Trump counter-protester at a March 4 rally in Berkeley, California, which now has more than half a million views, and spawned dozens of YouTube remixes.
youtube
youtube.com
At the chaotic skirmishes that have overtaken Berkeley over the last few months, Chapman has been a fixture, clad in a shield, bike helmet, gas mask — and, of course, the big ol’ wooden stick that inspired his nickname, which is a combination of the slang term “based" (meaning "true to oneself and uncaring about others’ opinions") and his weapon of choice.
Chapman did not respond to multiple requests for comment from BuzzFeed News, but according to local media outlet Berkeleyside, the 41-year-old is a diver by day; his Based Stickman Facebook page lists his location as Daly City, California. He describes himself on his personal Facebook page as a “Proud American Nationalist” and an “ardent Trump supporter.” And now, he's a human meme of the alt-right, with the webstore, rabid fanbase, and emergent movement to to go along with it.
Chapman has created Based Stickman accounts on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to interact with his fans and solicit donations. His Reddit AMA in r/thedonald drew thousands of comments. He’s expressed interest in going to San Diego Comic Con to pitch a graphic novel about his persona, and used the right-wing crowdfunding site Wesearchr to bankroll the bail for his next inevitable arrest. (As of now, the page has raised $86,500.) On April 29, he and a number of other alt-right figures will host a gathering on California’s Mt. Baldy celebrating President Trump’s first 100 days. He’s partnered with right-wing apparel store Gruntworks to create an entire line of Based Stickman merch: hoodies ($39.99), T-shirts ($23.99), and stickers ($3-$5) in his likeness. Based Stickman is a brand.

He's also the celebrity leader of a nascent para-military wing of the alt-right. In a recent Reddit Ask Me Anything on the forum r/thedonald, he urged his fans to usher in “a resurgence of a warrior spirit to Western Society.” In the same AMA, one poster wrote, “Thank you for your service!”, mimicking the way people address military veterans. Chapman responded, “You're welcome! It's an honor to be of service to the people who love this country as much as I do.” On April 22, Chapman formed the “Fraternal Order of Alt-Knights,” a militant group within the alt-right fraternity The Proud Boys, which was started by Vice co-founder and right-wing media figure Gavin McInnes (he and Vice split ways 10 years ago). According to a Facebook post by Chapman, the group will focus on “street activism, preparation, defense, and confrontation.”

According to a Proud Boys news site, the Alt-Knights will step in when police are told to stand down. At an April 15 clash in Berkeley, the Proud Boys were already doing essentially that, acting as bodyguards for Lauren Southern, one of the far-right-wing rally’s invited speakers, as she filmed the chaos. The Proud Boys are recognizable by their black and yellow polo shirts.

Though Chapman is an avowed member of the so-called alt-right — the loose confederation of white nationalists, libertarians, and other far right-wingers supporting Donald Trump that largely formed online — he seems to think the racially motivated parts of his movement aren’t the best thing for it. In April 25 Facebook post, he tried to disown people photographed in Seig Heil postures at the April 15th event in Berkeley. Some of his fans were not happy, saying that his negative views of white nationalism were a sign that liberals or “anti-fascists” had gotten to him.
Anti-fascists, Antifa for short, are Based Stickman’s sworn enemies, the Joker to his Batman. They’re the black-clad Left-wing protesters who have appeared in Berkeley in recent months, disrupting Milo Yiannopoulos’ plans for a speech and fighting right-wingers in Berkeley’s parks and streets.
As a result of his activities as Based Stickman, Chapman has been arrested on suspicion of committing a number of felonies, though the charges from the March 4 riot have been dropped. He may still face charges for participating in a riot, though, according to an April 18 Facebook post.
Chapman is a living meme, and he knows it.
He wrote in an April 22 Facebook post, “The value of our meme warriors cannot be understated. Hail the meme warriors, Hail 4chan!” (The post linked to a Wired article titled “Don’t Look Now, But Extremists’ Memes Are Turning Into Militias.”) He’s also said that before his internet fame, he didn’t spend much time online.
youtube
youtube.com
And yet: Stickman's sphere of influence appears to be widening. A Based Stickman Facebook group has appeared in an attempt to establish a local chapter in Phoenix. Right-wingers have recently put out calls online to arm themselves and fight against protesters on Thursday, the evening Ann Coulter was set to speak at UC Berkeley (Coulter isn't speaking, but the protests went on nonetheless.) In one forum, the first response to the summons is “Will Based Stickman be there?”
The UC Berkeley administration, when justifying its initial cancellation of Coulter’s speech, cited the exchange on the bodybuilding forum as evidence that violence would erupt on campus if the event were allowed to continue. Chapman himself has issued calls to fans to be there that day, and attended in full riot gear.
Here's someone copying Chapman's methods in downtown Berkeley:
Based Stickman is gearing up for war much in the way a Wrestlemania personality would. In a video posted yesterday on his Facebook page in advance of Thursday's protest, he shouts out his fans: “my troops, patriots, freedom fighters, and warriors." And much like a Wrestlemania hero, Chapman sees success as a foregone conclusion. “Guys, I’ll tell you right now. We will be victorious tomorrow. Our victory is all but guaranteed.”
