CHRISTMAS XOXO | ARCANE HCS (MAINLY SFW!)

s2 (early)act2! Jinx and Isha dress up for Christmas (despite Jinx not really celebrating but she does it for Isha) as Santa and Santa's Elf. Jinx builds a snowball shooter, and they go nuts on random people walking in Piltover, while they're probably on top of the roof of some in-construction building.

s2 Ekko would be such a Christmas guy-- wanting to spend his Christmas with Jinx and Isha; decorating a small tree with Isha by putting Jinx's unfinished/non-explodable/harmful towards Isha bombs on the tree, making silly Christmas Carol lyrics with Isha, decorating stolen Santa hats with Jinx and Isha(Jinx having a bomb as the little puff on her hat), etc.

s1 + s2! Mel spends Christmas with a few glasses of wine, bathed in rose water and beautiful body scents. Often thinking about what could've been while she spends Christmas keeping herself together. (ref. to both Jayce and her mother)

I personally think s1! Viktor would've celebrated, but slowly gave up on it because Christmas is majority revolved around religion and despite his prayers, believing didn't heal his leg (hence, he became his own god.) Plus, he was too busy working on hextech to really notice or care how fast the months went by.

s1! Jayce wouldn't shut up about holidays during his time working in the lab. And while sleeping with Mel, and while having little conversations with Caitlyn every now and then. "So-" he says, railing the hell out of Mel, panting like some runaway stray "any.. plans for the holidays this year?" Mel switches positions, now riding him "you're talkative for someone who just came three times, but no,.. no I do not."

s1 act1! Heimerdinger would enjoy the holidays. Especially Christmas. He'd dress up as Santa, giving out small candied treats to people who weren't in a shitty mood on Christmas Eve, then would wear a little Santa Hat and his regular clothes on Christmas Day, knowing he still has a job to do.

s1 + s2 act1! Vi wouldn't enjoy Christmas much, but I think she'd enjoy New Year's. Doing the countdown with family, (rather that's who she's born beside or who she chooses as family) staying up late, doing random shit like taking naps or teasing someone just to kill time knowing she gets impatient, etc.

s1 + s2 act1! Caitlyn would enjoy New Year's as well, but wouldn't mind the snowfall that comes with December's holidays. She'd spend her time drinking hot cocoa, trying to keep her composure on days it's really cold out but enjoying the Christmas lights and Carollers, and maybe ice skating at least twice every two years, just to see if she'll get any better (she won't.)

I've got a blank space baby

1989!!! What a fun album. I love when I wear my 1989 t-shirts in public- just the year, no other Taylor context. I've gotten asked "What happened in 1989?" I just say "It was the year Taylor Swift was born and the name of one of her albums!"

1989 is where we see the full on shift into pop. Like I am talking POP music. 1989 went on to win album of the year, so clearly, we can see that Taylor is able to have duality as an artist. Being able to jump win AOTY for two different genres (at this point, Fearless was the only AOTY she held) is something that I think truly solidified her ability to do many things in the music industry (not that she had anything to prove to anyone because she is and always will be THAT girl). Being able to create incredible albums that are so different from one another and having them both be recognized as such is pretty amazing.

Now- I will always be honest. I do not connect with 1989 as much as I have her other albums. I am not saying it is a bad album (there is no such thing as a bad Taylor album).You would think that the upbeat undertones of the album would instantly draw me in, but personally, it was a slow burn. What really shifted my mindset was hearing her sing Out Of The Woods on piano. It helped me to digest the lyrics in 1989 a lot more.

Once again, we see those huge pop hits: Shake it off, Style, Blank Space, and Bad Blood... How can you not help but dance when you hear it? She puts out hit after hit after hit.

Despite not having a massive connection to 1989 as a collective album, there are two particular songs that have my heart and are truly some of my favorites. You Are In Love and Clean. Clean is one that I know holds a big place for a lot of people. For me, I associate it with finally becoming mentally stable. I am Bipolar and have been hospitalized in the process of trying to be a functional human being. I am very proud to say I have fully embraced taking medications and have never been happier. The road was hell on earth but I am finally clean.

Chapter 2 - Tristan (first introduction of Tristan and first time we get his pov)

Chapter 3 - We need to talk about Marco (reference to the movie/book We need to talk about Kevin, the plot is about a mother struggling with the fact that her son is a school shooter)

Chapter 4 - Closer (name to a Nine Inch Nails song, Marco plays it to Tristan during their first time actually talking to each others, he asks Tristan if he would let him "desecrate him" (lyric from the song) because that's apparently what you say to people)

lisa rubini the ultimate mother you are.......... not the best one but she's so real to me. some hc things: i think she worked as a seamstress and before Eddie started earning money was the main source of income for the family. this may not be true for the era, i'm honestly just transferring what happens very often here when women takes over all the responsibilities (the father is either an alcoholic or unemployed or just not there) + this as another reason for the conflict between Lisa and her husband. & because she worked as a seamstress for a long time she developed carpal tunnel syndrome as she got older (i've been told about this problem by several seamstresses). i was just thinking that i often see Eddie & Lisa in my head, with Eddie holding Lisa's hands & carpal tunnel syndrome could be the reason y know? bout eddie's cousin - i think she's Lisa's niece, not Cecilio's

By the way, as someone who spends hours making playlists for characters, (you can check out my Reverse 1999 playlist on my blog!) here are a few tips to make some accurate, fun, and unique playlists that'll catch eyes!

Don't always resort to the obvious./Make your own opinions. || THIS is the biggest rule. You have to put thought into these playlists rather than just focusing on the vibe or the surface level connections. When making character playlists, there are three pillars you have to focus on: VIBE, MEANING, and META. VIBE defines how the song makes you feel, and the mental image the song conjures up. MEANING defines what the song actually means, as well as other meanings and creative interpretations that you made up based on the lyrics (lyrics is underneath the meaning umbrella). META defines everything else that makes you pick a song for a character -- for example, pop culture references, or strangely accurate references to the story in question the character comes from despite the fact the song wasn't made for the character to begin with; however, it FEELS like it was made for the character. However, despite all of these, when making a playlist, don't immediately go for the songs that seem obvious, or were made obvious by the fandom; think, and get creative! That being said, your fandom still is a big help and you should not entirely abandon the connections it has already made. For example, Queen in a Good Omens playlist is ALWAYS a welcome addition and shouldn't be omitted! Same thing for Bohemian Rhapsody in a Scaramouche (Genshin Impact) Playlist.

Try to dig deeper into your knowledge of music. || This probably applies still to the final part of Rule 1. Don't go for what the fandom made obvious or popular songs, those get exhausting quick. Think; what would REALLY apply to the character? Great minds think alike but fools rarely differ. Can you think of a song that'd fit the character better? What songs are unique to your knowledge? Have fun with it, and, again, THINK. You might at first think Hayloft by Mother Mother still fits this character, but maybe a song like Heart Shaped Box by Nirvana fits them better. Give the people listening FRESH songs! That being said, it isn't too bad to add a song agreed upon by the fandom to be "owned by the character" into your playlist. For example, I WILL say that Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen ABSOLUTELY is Scaramouche (Genshin Impact) song. Just don't oversaturate your playlist with the same old songs from existing playlists. I recommend checking out existing playlists on YouTube and Spotify and see what people have already come up with to get an idea of what your character is about/songs already used too much. For example, I think the song Hayloft is used WAY too much (shoot me with your Daddy's gun if you will /ref).

Pay attention to the lyrics! || Meaning is a big pillar. The song should always mean a lot for your character--and you shouldn't pick a song that is pointless to your character's meaning and doesn't fit them at all via lyrics alone. I recommend using a site like Genius, which gives meanings of songs, often lyric by lyric. That being said, don't rely entirely on Genius! Make up your own interpretations of the song lyrics, too, and give out explanations for your choices if needed. I love it when people get creative with their interpretations. Vibe alone still works, just don't end up with hayloft again and again.

Go down music rabbit holes. || If you have trouble finding more songs like a specific one you think fits your character really well, try going down a music rabbit hole. You can find them by looking for a song that you already thinks fits your character really well, and then looking in the "recommended" or "more songs like this" section on whatever site you're listening to music on. I recommend YouTube the most for this. Note that doing this usually just replicates the vibe--but with that being said, sometimes you'll get songs that have great fits for lyrics, too. I recommend the site "Spotalike" -- you can enter a song and it'll give you a whole list of songs with similar vibes/ones they think you'll like if you like that one song. It pretty much guessed my music taste when I put in my favorite song!

Don't be afraid to mix it up. || The playlist doesn't have to be full of the same kind of music! If you want, mix it up with lots of kinds of music. Characters are complex, so let their respective playlists be too! It's a lot more fun of an experience for the listener to be surprised with dozens of kinds of music, from a hit on the radio they heard a few years ago to a song they've never heard before. if you want, make it a complex mix to best represent your character.

Here's an analysis of why the song "Riptide", a popular choice for PJO playlists, was a good song for Percy Jackson;

META reference; it references Percy's sword, Riptide, with the title alone. Also, there's quite a few points in the song that it sounds like Percy talking about his journey and his best friend/girlfriend Annabeth, or also his mother, Sally Jackson. It can also be pretty much anyone else Percy loves.

VIBE; folksy, basically SOUNDS like Camp Half Blood. It sounds homey, like a childhood.

MEANING; It's like a stream of consciousness, like childhood and love and happiness. It seems to be about a girl that's out of his league, his happiness and childhood, and pretty much anyone he loves. Basically, a big roadtrip and an adventure. It's perfect.

Even though it's used a lot, it's still great.

So, keep it all in mind! Thank you so much for reading what basically became an essay, and feel free to reply with additions or playlists, I eat those things up. ^_^;

i had an idea for a piece but i have work tomorrow and its 12 and i havent had my meds yet LOL so im gonna do that. the colors are horrible but heres the idea for what the lighting would be like(???) i have no idea. im so tired but i want to make so many things. its highkey ugly but i'll put it here for future ref

this song has relevance to her backstory and also i think abt her while i listen to this song b4 i sleep.... this lyric specifically has to with her youth! since ur here im going to give u a little snippet abt her: all that ive said about her and her future character description are flawed and based on her poor relationship with reality! while the ivory disintegrated her appendages and gave her sleep issues, the stress of the high positions she was placed in (and taken away from) have interacted with her psychosis negatively. while previously she had "sinful thoughts" and hid them to primary success (she was still thought of as quirky or eccentric by those in her settlement) she now deals with concerns of being watched by mother/Him/etc and maintains a conspiracy board to mitigate that ("i'll just watch someone else"). she frequently short-circuits concern cameras to prevent imagery of her being recorded. she tends to thrill seek in her free time and is partial to electric shocks and spicy foods, she is dedicated to everything but her actual job. she notably greets everyone with the tri hand thing regardless of standing, and ALWAYS wears her concern symbol upright, despite her clothing choices. goddamn it im giving her ocd aren't i. oh well she can have ocd. it is now 12:31. also all of these ideas are form personal experience dont get the wrong idea now... im NOT an edgelord. ok final note. while nitpicking and bossing and being generally unhelpful to most operations at the concern, shes very respectful of everyones personhood... (probably a side effect of watching and recording their lives thru the cameras u weirdo) i think the other agents wrangle her away from the chem labs because of some incident she caused but they cant say shes banned because they see her as neurotic... she avoids elros wrath by never being involved with him besides seeing what happened on the cameras. while she has an affinity for black, grey, and the other agents she wouldn't take revenge on elro out of fear of him knowing "what she did" and that hes sent from Him to punish her (another delusion, unspecific, also she doesnt think any of what shes doing is wrong) hly shit i wrote a lot. ok done im gonna think about her in bed now byeeeeee
