It was a dark and stormy night, the full moon shining through the dark storm clouds that poored heavy rain all night. You sat in bed, bundled up in the multitude of blankets and pillows. The only light in your dark room was the light from your phone screen, the dings and quiet music filling the room along with the sound of rain pittering against the windows.

You were kinda lonely, living alone in the old farm house, the so called “cursed” Woods just behind your house. You chuckled to yourself, you knew the woods wen’t cursed, you knew why people said that it was, the so called “monster” In the woods, with gleaming yellow eyes and sharp teeth, hair like fire straight from hell, pale skin with dark markings like ash and shout. And while most of these things were true, he certainly wasn’t a monster.

A loud knock on your window almost scared you out of your skin. You looked at your window and saw two glowing yellow eyes peeking through. You unbundled yourself and walked over to open it quickly, pulling in the thing from outside. You shut your window quickly and rushed off to grab towels. The tall figure stood there in the dark awkwardly, his hair and fur giveing off a gentle blue glow.

You came back, using your elbow to flip on the lights as your arms were full of towels.

You rushed over and began to dry him off, drapeing a large towl over his head and drying off the rest of him. Once he was dry you pulled him into a hug. “What a coincidence, I was just thinking about you! ” You said happily. “Really!? I just came to… I just… I wanted to see you, maybe game a bit? Maybe cuddle” He said, one hand scratching his cheek slightly, the rossy blush showing vividly on his pale skin.

You stepped back getting a good look at him. His sharp yellow eyes surrounded by dark circles, his pale blue lips that hid sharp pointed teeth, his long blue hair that cascaded like a waterfall down his back and framed his face, it really did look like fire. On top of his head was a set of dark grey entenas, they drooped down slightly almost looking like strands of DNA, they made him look cute. He had pale skin his sides a ashy grey that stopped at his neck, he had two sets of lanky arms, the forearms of each arm covered in thick, fluffy blue fur, the same fiery locks as his hair. It was the same around his neck, thick fluffy fur. His wings were also large, dark grey not quite black, each one with smetrical markings, a deep blue skull on each one.

You wrapped your arms around him in a tight hug, giggling as the fur around his neck tickled your cheek. Fore slim but strong arms wrapped around you, his face nuzzling into your hair to hide his excited grin and bright red cheeks. Your affection would never stop flustering the shy moth, but gods did he want it. Your hugs and kisses, your sweet words and head pats, he craved it. You were the only human- no, the only anything besides ortho that he ever socialsed with, the only other persons company that he craved. Even if he was still shy around you, he still wanted to be around you.

You walked him over to your bed and layed down letting him lay his head on top of your chest, arms wrapped tight around you as the piter-patter of rain mixed with the sound of his calm breathing. His eyes closed tightly as a tiny smile painted his face alongside the bright blush.

You seemed to lay there for hours in each other’s arms as you gently patted his hair, being carful not to hurt his entenas. “So how’s ortho doing? ” You asked. He humed gently before responding, “he doing good, gos on lots of walks to town, makes me worried about him… Again. ” There was a moment of pause as you both thought for a moment. “I could always take him into town, that way you know he’s safe” You said kissing the top of his head, his hair and fur illuminating the immediate space around the two of you. “Y-you’d do that? I’m sure ortho will be happy to hear that” If possible he seemed to snuggle even further against you.

So you layed like that, bundled in blankets and surrounded by pillows, Cuddled up to each other happy and content. You were both relaxed in each other’s company. Nice and warm. Drawn to each other like moths to a flame.

American Idia Moth - Idia americalis

Were it not for the camera flash, this mottled Moth would’ve been perfectly camouflaged against the bark of this tree, hidden in the shadows from the high branches. Other specimens can feature wing coloration that is more predominantly beige, white and brown, so perhaps they’d need to seek out other types of trees as hiding spots. Whatever colors they have, all the specimens I’ve cross-referenced with share similar thick triple-banding across the edge of the wings and a discoloration (similar to a spot) near the banding. Do note though that due to the similarity other Moths, the only way to truly be sure of this Moth’s specie is to examine the genitalia, and I don’t have the of time or equipment. I also wouldn’t want to harm this Moth and keep it in nature so it can enjoy its summer time among the managed wilderness. Ironically, I probably disturbed its resting as its was still mid-afternoon (towards the end of a High Park bug hunt), not close to night time when Moths like this one would normally become active.

When they become active, it’s reported that these insects gather near tree lichen, but I’m not sure that the adults eat it (I’ve read mixed findings, but will confirm in a future post). The Caterpillars definitely do however, and they also contribute to a healthy forest by eating debris such as dried leaves. Though called Litter Moths, they aren’t litter bugs at all it seems. Despite what the common name would suggest, there are many species of Idia Moth in North America beyond this one...but this one can only be found in North America. It has been dubbed the American Snout Moth as well, but that name may have fallen out of usage as it may cause confusion with the actual family of Snout Moths - Pyralidae.  As mentioned earlier, the triple banding and blotches can distinguish this Moth from similarly patterned Geometrid Moths and other Idia relatives such as the look-a-like Common Idia Moth (Idia aemula)! That’s just one example, but there are quite a few Idia Moths that appear similar to this one at a first glance, so might be better to start by ruling out the Moths that don’t look like this one if you’ve collected a specimen to identify.

Very important bug visitor

A Carolina praying mantis visited my balcony today! Impressive, considering I’m several stories up.

Do you see those hefty forearms? That’s one of the ways you can tell this native praying mantis from the widespread invasive ones. This picture also doesn’t give a good sense of how big it is—it was at least three inches long!

now, Ruggie will never miss a chance to take advantage of your kindness. this doesn't mean that he doesn't like you, he's just a man of opportunity! plus, you're an aristocrat; hence, money! eventually, though, he starts feeling kinda bad for you, and he tries to toughen you up a little so you don't get swindled. results are varied

oh, Rook is absolutely smitten with you. your elegance, your gentleness, you are the absolute picture of beauty to him!

Hey I didn't see any requesting rules. I'm sorry if you posted them before but I didn't see them. I completely understand if this is too much. (Ngl I've thought about writing it myself)

I was wondering if you could write about a symptom with a reader who has a form of Conversion disorder/ A form of Fnd?

It's a umbrella term but to put it into words for what it; it is when a person experiences temporary physical symptoms, such as blindness or paralysis, that do not have a physical cause. While the exact cause of conversion disorder is unknown, researchers believe it occurs in response to stressful situations or trauma.

I personally have problems with my legs not moving at all for inconsistent periods of time.(Could be 5 mins or 3 hours) (Dw I'm fine I have a mobility aid)

So my question is which yandere twst boy do you think would take advantage of the whole leg thing most?

Once again I completely understand if this is out of your comfort zone and sorry if I made you uncomfortable. I just really like your work

But but but… he doesn’t really know what he’s supposed to be building for you 🥺 and he wants to get it right…. So you HAVE to stay with him whenever he works on it!! So he can get it right for you!!! WELL I dont have a bug for every single couple of course, aside from the fact that there would be a lot of repeat bugs, not every couple would partake in the tradition! I see it as sort of a Giving someone a bouquet to ask them out sort of thing, old fashioned and optional but very cute. THAT BEING SAID i do have a couple in mind for my favorite fallenships. (I always pictured Fallenclan taking place somewhere around west/northwest US, so I'm trying to use bugs from that region. that being said im not a bug expert so keep that in mind)

Goldenstar & Morningbloom Flame skimmer dragonfly Fallenclan's first couple to get together... Scorchstar told Goldenstar (then Goldenflare) about the tradition of where she was from and he thought it was sweet, he spent moons trying to find the perfect bug before he finally spotted this one.

Scorchstar & Nettlestem American Idia Moth Nettlestem and Scorchstar were Practically mates for a long time before making it official. Nettlestem found the moth fluttering around in their nest.

Brambletuft & Yewberry Colorado potato beetle Yewberry gave Brambletuft the beetle thinking that the orangeish color matched her eyes. Brambletuft thought that it matched his fur.

Silverbelly & Applebranch Crane fly Crane flies always made Applebranch laugh, so when she asked Silverbelly to be her mate, that was the bug she chose.

Death Angel

Meet Malinda! A puffball experiment that has moth wings, her weapon a parasol that can turn into a shotgun, and a hidden sword. Three weapons all at once! Death Angel was a given nickname by Blake, and Malinda saved him (along with the other experiments) by the Collectors. After the massive breakout and manslaughter, she vows to protect her chosen family and to break out of this bubble prison so they can be free once more.

If you ever ask how she got that armor she will reply, “I stole it from ___ when the whole place goes berserk. The parasol was with the armor too, I think the armor is from GSA..? I never heard of them… they said they’re the protector of the galaxy…I’m getting ahead of myself… I have to go.”

I’ll help you to go home, we are both on the same page. Maybe when we're free you can bake me those ‘brownies’ you mention. According to Mistress Gryll, they taste so good!”

Gryll: “I thank you for your hospitality and for taking care of my family. Are you sure you're not an experiment? You have stitches on your hands—Oh? A type of doll? How bizarre..”

Gale: “You and the painter act so much alike. Same cold attitude and snarky remarks, but also a warm heart for caring for others. Even if you don’t show it, you still care in your own way.”

Collectors: “I despise you. I’m so glad, I got rid of your kind. YOU DID THIS TO US. YOU TURN INNOCENT CHILDREN AS MONSTERS. FOR WHAT?? WHY… WHY DID YOU…. (Technical Difficulties please stand by)”

Bonus Facts:

• Malinda was a name that she gave herself, she was called an experiment X9-235, but it was too long.

• She used she/her pronouns but tbh with you she doesn't care if you call her ‘He’ or ‘They’

• She has death touch, she has to wear gloves so she won’t… you know?

•She will get irritated when you call her a butterfly. She dislikes butterflies and she does not know why…

• She is new with emotions. She’s been happy, sad, angry, scared. But disgust and empathy? Are a bit new to her…

• She is very close with Blake, Painter, and Idia.

• She is scared of losing her loved ones, she already lost so much… and she is not losing any more of her friends.

• If she ever met a GSA warrior she would be polite and drop her guard down a bit. She wants to know more about them and asks who this armor and weapon belong to.
