Tutorial: Importing an existing world into CAW

Note: I did not write this tutorial! I copy/pasted it from here. I just don't have confidence that TS3 websites will remain viable in the long term, so I'm preserving this mostly for my own future reference. But, maybe it will be helpful for other folks like me who aren't very CAW-savvy and just want to make some edits to an existing world in ways that you can't do in-game. The slightly edited original post is pasted behind the cut.

1) Install the world in the usual way in your fresh game folder. If it is a real prerequisite, in that Riverview objects are used in the world, you'll need to install Riverview too. Of course this also goes for Barnacle Bay or any other custom world EA may release separately. This is also a good time to check in your Installed Items whether any "foreign" CC came with it.

2) Start CAW and make a new world. It will ask for a .png, press the … box and you'll get a few 'starters', choose any. Accept all the rest and OK. You don't need to worry about parameters for your world as they will be overwritten later anyway. Save As the new world with a name you will use temporarily, not the definitive name you want to give it. Let's call it Temp.world for now. Close CAW.

3) Open S3PE and browse to the The Sims 3 Create A World Tool\UserToolData\Worlds and you'll find your Temp.world file. Open it.

4) Use Resource->Import->From package… and browse to your The Sims 3\InstalledWorlds and open the world file you want to "import". Accept the default settings for Import, when it asks you to save between packages, say No. It will show a progress bar so you'll know it's done. This may take a while.

5) Sort the resources by Type (click the "header") and find UNKN 0x296A6258 there. If all is well you should have two, one already deleted (struck out), right-click the other and select "Deleted" to delete it too. At the bottom of the file you should have two WPID resources, one already deleted, delete the other too.

6) Use the "close" button in the upper right to close S3PE. It will tell you the package has changed, choose Yes to save the changes. The reason for doing it this way is you'll know it's done when the S3PE window closes. This may take a while.

7) Start the CAW tool and open your Temp.world. Wait until the render window shows you a reasonable picture of something in the world. This may take a while and there is no real progress indication.

8) Right-click on the Temp.world on the left pane (World Layers) and choose Add/Edit description. Make sure the Name and Description fields are filled in. You can use your final name and description here. Also make sure there is a .png for the thumbnail. If there isn't, browse up one of the samples you got earlier or make sure you have one ready. This needs to be in the 24-bit 256x256 format!

9) Save As the world with the final name, let's say Final.world. It will give you a "wait" cursor for a while and then a normal cursor. Don't touch it!! It's not done! Leave the computer to it until a window pops up informing you the world is successfully saved.

The opposite direction is quite simple, just start CAW and use "Export world". It will put a .sims3pack in your The Sims 3\Exports folder. You can take that out and put it in the Download folder and install it as usual.

Oh nah we 👀 knew before that! But Lou's promo was mass confirmation that "the specs" were right (and that the select few weren't delulu this time 😂)

It was going around 👀 and yeah even we 👀 were skeptical because we 👀 never got anything (I joke as a former bd 💀 lol) so we 👀 didn't want to believe it fully (because we 👀 were always let down aka wrong about anything canonically queer up until that point 😂) but yeah no way anyone was gonna rip the verified/potential idea of Bi Buck from our hands after how many years of waiting so when I tell you we were... watching out for any clues 👀 after getting that news and little by little things kept popping up 👀 and the discovery 👀 of the pic and finding out it was LOU aka the former 118 member Tommy Kinard ON SET IN THE PIC 😏 Yup 🙂‍↕️

So we knew what was planned but not the who until the who was seen in the bts and filming before it should have been known but a win is a win! 😂

And I know it's annoying and often mostly always at times was big delulu but there was actually a reason why people were bragging and confident in Bi Buck that season. It was wild! Idk who has it still as a lot of people changed or deleted after the nonsense that transpired during season 7 but I will try and look for the exact photo and share it if I can but it was a different time and seriously different crowds back then also lol I do not want to implicate myself with certain individuals so I'm gonna be 😶‍🌫️

so i was here for good from like early march and seeing certain things from mid feb. but it seemed like i missed a lot. i didn’t follow many 911 blogs that were posting leaks nor did i follow 911bts which i probably should have. oops.

anyways it’s so funny because i know once i found out about bi buck and bucktommy, i was all for it even though i shipped buddie and thought it was possibly gonna happen. which is why i started paying attention to 911 in february after basically breaking up with the show after the s6 finale 😭

i still am very curious to know what these pictures were. i know lou posted these two things that all but confirmed he was on 911 though. (left from 17th feb, right from 9th march? i think.)

Liars- the worst kind of Astarion haters and fandom

I really didn't want to make my blog about Astarion haters and didn't want to make 3 long posts about them. Yet I've recently found such a contemptible individual I simply can't stay silent. I need to vent and paint a bigger picture. Especially since I can't properly do it in replies on yt as it's impossible to add images in yt replies and comments with links are usually either deleted or hidden. If you have read my 2 posts - yes this is the same person but I've obtained more pieces of information that create an alarming image of how this person thinks, operates and lies on purpose and blatant confirmation of my previous suspicions. I've also decided to share it because I believe we should be more aware of this new more malicious and vile type of haters. We all know how "normal" haters and stakebros continue to post hate, we mostly know their motivation. But I tell you this person is much more evil and sinister than them. I want to establish and confirm certain facts first because the singular comments of that person may seem innocent at first glance. It's only the bigger picture that shows how bad it is. If you prefer more chronological order that shows how they escalate: part 1 - Example of a lie. That individual claiming Astarion doesn't approve of saving the gnomes and me debunking it. part 2 - That individual admitting to liking torturing, murdering and using mods that make Astarion into a slave, yet claiming Astarion's fans are toxic ones

For those who haven't read it, I will try to make a brief summary in this paragraph (sorry, I've tried) : The story goes like that, for quite some time under various Astarion-related videos and threads I've been seeing one and the same username very often accompanied by the second one. Their modus operandi and comments were pretty similar - they've been saying things like "I'm not an Astarion hater but..." insert here a blatant lie made to paint Astarion as evil, that can be easily debunked by playing, looking at clips, videos or Wiki with Astarion approval... The fact that they were lying was confusing because... like Astarion's not an angel, you really don't have to lie about him... Besides why even lie about a fictional character? Why with such vitriol and obsession under so many videos about him 1 year after the release? Why target neutral fans (of course to make them hate this fictional character :( )? Why lie that "you're not an Astarion hater"? Not a hater wouldn't have reasons to lie... Under different videos, I've also seen the same user celebrating hurting Astarion... What was the most frustrating is that often normal people were being deceived only since they assumed that individual didn't have ill intentions and because they believed they weren't being lied to. After seeing one comment from that person under yet another Astarion video from several months back, about how Astarion deserved to be brutally abused and murdered because "he only ever approves of bad things" and also listed some things that weren't really even true (like the gnome at moonrise, or ascending), I finally decided to answer and correct them citing some of the good things he approves of (saving an abused hyena, saving the gnomes, saving Vanra etc. ) I also added that while sometimes Astarion talks shit he doesn't actually DO anything evil on his own free will until the ritual unlike some other companions that they consider "good" and that holding a belief that an escaped slave or basically a victim of human trafficking who doesn't remember any other life but constant torture deserves to be tortured and murdered only for talking and being angry is evil. And that is when the insanity started. They kept lying, saying that Astarion's canon approval is not real, that he doesn't approve of those things (gnomes, vanra etc) and made even more lies and taking things out of context. Maybe I shouldn't have engaged. I probably shouldn't have, but hey, I don't like the idea of them deceiving anyone... I tried to debunk their lies, but of course, they doubled down on it and made new ones, blatantly refusing to check the sources, saying that the abuse options are there because the devs too think Astarion should be abused, and even going as far as trying to vilify not only Astarion but also Neil. Of course, the same account that almost always keeps backing them up almost immediately after their post appeared again and started spewing similar bs with the same arguments. They even decided to harass me on my own channel for correcting them...

At least I managed to get indisputable proof that: 1. those two accounts belong to the same person. (Establishing this fact is important so I started with those screens) 2. they lie (it was obvious before (in part 2) but here's another proof, 3. They use those multiple accounts to create false narratives by talking to "each other" and trying to create an illusion that someone who disagrees with them is "outnumbered" and toxic.

Re: So I don't have any video or content on my channel on yt. Literally nothing. And somehow still got 2 subscribers, I made a post 2 weeks ago asking my subscribers why even subscribe? Not relevant? Yeah totally, but after I corrected some lies of that Astarion hater, they went on my channel for no reason to try to vilify Neil under that post... At that point, I was 100% sure those 2 were the same person so I called them out (btw I may seem a little harsh at first glance but this person: 1. keeps going under many Astarion videos-comment to shamelessly lie, 2. was insulting all astarion fans, 3. was bragging about playing slave-owner simulator by putting a collar on Astarion and murdering him which I find repulsive, 4. went under my post to harass me under an unrelated post, while despite everything I have NOT gone on their channel.) and they exposed how pathetic they are:

This paragraph is basically the same thing as what I wrote to them. *btw they assumed I was a he, but whatever, I don't really care that's not the most important thing for me I've only 2 subscribers and I had them before interacting with that individual which meant they were not one of them. They were using one account to harass me but when I said I knew they were the same person who was behind the first account then even though I had not tagged the second account and even misspelt the username of the second account, despite getting no notification, it replied to a small channel with 2 subscribers barely 1 hour later, under the same post? That is NOT a coincidence. That's clearly one hater. Though they claim.

Nice try, except that was my channel and the only comment under the post belonged to their second account so no notification for kiririkiri account. Besides as shown (part2) those "two" accounts keep commenting almost back-to-back, both are under the same comment/video that is ofter several months old and with barely 1 hour of break. They also share all opinions and have the same habit of sending the same message several times.

As you can see they also started talking with themselves to "outnumber me" again. They even left themselves a like because it definitely wasn't my subscriber. I have 2 and I bet they don't spend 24/7 waiting for me - somebody with no content to post or comment.

Since I think I have already established this is the same obsessed person. Let me go back a little and once again gives you some evidence and perspective why I called them evil twisted and pathetic.

2. Well for once as I stated before they frequently lie. Exhibit I And I have given some examples in part 2 (astarion is evil because he says he embraced the darkness in the epilogue when talking about missing the sun, canon in-game lines from the narrator that describe how companions are feeling in different situations are not canon because their hc should be believed instead, Astarion wants to kill not help Vanra despite giving approval for saving her and despite having a line " "be careful, if we kill the hag the girl might die", the nightmare doesn't happen and a vivid dreaming about being enslaved again by your abuser can't be a clear sign of ptsd, Astarion wants to murder PC even though in his origin canon lines say "you try to wrench your head but your jaw refuses to obey" and that the fact that he has to do checks for not killing the companion proves his story - that he just lost control and other lies). But for the purpose of this comment let me remind you of that specific one from part 1 the gnome one

I've already debunked it, but as that person refused to check it and acknowledge it, and since they decided to come to my account to harass me I decided to use this opportunity and I posted the same screens from my part 1 to make that person see it and comment so that I can get further screens of them lying and denying canon. They did. They still said that the screens from the game and wiki are not canon.

Meanwhile reality:

This guy is so confused and complicated he doesn't even know if he truly wants to ascend and his approval of you trying to persuade him depends on a roll. One thing is clear. He does NOT approve of ascending.

Toxicity.

This is also in a way not true. This comment itself is mild, next ones are worse still... before the crash, he was mind-controlled and even refers to it as being a puppet whose body is controlled by his master and after the nautiloid he immediately joins the players and follows his lead till the end of his quest. He doesn't actively DO anything of his own free will to "torment innocents" he just observes, talks and approves/disapproves. A belief that a victim of human trafficking or slavery who doesn't remember not being abused and who has been enslaved and tortured for decades (or centuries) deserves to be murdered, tortured and humiliated because they are not well-adjusted 1 day after being freed because they say things that you don't like, are angry at the world and disapproves of your actions is fundamentally evil. He has never even been given any chance to heal. But hey if you've read part 2 you know that this comment is very mild because they in fact love playing the slave-owner simulator, murdering Astarion and helping Cazador.

As can be seen on the screens from the very beginning when they came to harass me after I've corrected them but accidentally exposed themselves for having 2 accounts they also made a special point to tell me how they'll enjoy hurting him and will "do their worst" specially for me in multiple messages.... It made me think about the comments they made under a different video

Last time I cut only the part about the streamer, how they called Astarion fans toxic because some people disliked how he put him in a collar and made him crawl... I did this to show how implausible that is that it was done by accident and to show their hypocrisy because as you can see that person's 2 accounts were bragging about downloading the mod specifically for Astarion, knowing his history and were both proud of playing a slave-owner simulator. But it was point 1. However, there were also points 2 and 3:

Interestingly: when said more was compared to male Aylin or whitewashing Wyll mod. That person failed to address Aylin at all and despite admitting that Wyll's is racist also said it's ok to play with this mod... But for the purpose of the post I think it's more important how they stated that "they're not an astarion hater" and that they never killed him and yet previous screens clearly show that they are a hater and LOVE to murder and torture him. They also were crying that a mystery streamer was "bullied" without showing any proof other than "trust me bro" but when I corrected some of their lies and told them their behaviour and reasoning is evil they immediately started to harass a channel with 2 subscribes... with 2 of their accounts, because they're so insecure they thought one account will not be enough... Yes, playing slave owner is ok, but being corrected is not. Them responding to an Astarion fan calling all Astarion fans toxic is ok, but somebody else telling them that their mod and ideas of "you disapprove therefore you deserve to die" is evil is not ok. etc.

I don't usually think that age should be brought up but this person is not young at all.

One of their accounts is almost 19 years old. I created my yt account when I was a teen but that person has videos from 12+ years ago... All things considered. I think they're probably at least in their 30s. For such a person to behave like that is not normal. 30+ years person individual lying online about a fictional character, bragging about hurting them, thinking it's ok to murder for talking, and harassing people for correcting you is deeply concerning.

Also considering that several years ago that person was posting some videos with game fragments makes me think that the probability of them being a "mysterious streamer" who got backlash for doing exactly what they were bragging about doing is even higher.

I'm ending this post because it's already quite long and summarizes the most important points well.

P.S. It has been brought to my attention in a wise comment under part 2 that this individual seems to have some problems and that's not normal behaviour. Upon reflection, I still think that certain behaviours and opinions should be openly called out as twisted and evil regardless so they won't be normalized in society. That being said I agree from an objective point of view that I probably shouldn't have engaged in the conversation or insulted them by calling them "pathetic" or "a loser" to their faces despite them being that things (I still by an evil and twisted). Then again it's very frustrating seeing accounts of the same person under so many Astarion comments or videos celebrating hurting him, attacking the fans or trying to make people hate a fictional character by lying especially because their initial comments/replies under some threads sometimes seem innocent and because they state "they're not an Astarion hater" some people believe them (unless those are fake accounts too:/) It's even more frustrating that when corrected they double down, spam with more lies and go under your own channel to harass you. Despite that, I don't think they should be harassed themselves. I've decided to just erase all their comments on my page, ban them and stop engaging. But I'm not sure what should be done if I ever see them lying or trying to portray Astarion as toxic in public discourse under anything related to him :/ They spiral after being called out and things get nasty but the alternative is allowing them to deceive people... No matter what I still wanted to share this story as I think we should be aware there's a new kind of haters. If you ever see or encounter this person, their second account or somebody else who says "I'm not an Astarion hater" and then proceeds to say something insulting or suspicious be wary and check the sources instead of believing blindly because there are strong chances it's an obsessive hater. I'm going to reblog and add some new screens of their lies... Check the first reblog if you want to see them.

Small question... Did a lot of your older art get deleted from Twitter...? I was scrolling down looking for some of your old Azul/Idia works, and it stops at an illustration of Azul and Jamil?

I don’t think it did (from Katsu’s account everything is still in place on the desktop version), but twitter has been very weird with scrolling in general; sometimes the older posts just don’t load as if you’ve reached the first posts. Sometimes doing an advanced search helps (i.e. searching the posts from this specific account during this specific time period).

Unfortunately, other than that I can only suggest looking through my pixiv, it should be easier to find our older stuff there…

You know, Anon, it’s hard to say. When it comes to Sebek, I think Lilia would be stricter than usual and mostly because he would really enjoy acting like a tough father of a beautiful young lady with a lot of suitors. This is such a ridiculous spectacle, and such a fun way to tease Sebek who is already super overwhelmed and confused about how he should treat Silver, who would still be his brother in arms even if it is fem!Silver…

In general though, I don’t think Lilia would mind these two having sex and unfortunately would probably tease them endlessly for that. And instead of saying anything about protection, he would sigh and complain about how he isn’t ready to become a grandpa, which would work even better: now they don’t want to have sex at all.

ANOOOON THIS VIGNETTE! It should be studied under the microscope, this is such a good example of Jade being Jade in such an unusual situation for him…

Jade being invincible is a great concept, but this teeny tiny little sprinkle of fear or uncomfortableness makes him so much better. He really is a fish out of water when it comes to heights…

What I also loved is that one of his voice lines when he basically does the “at least I’m better than Azul, right?” thing AGAIN. I guess this is his reaction to discomfort: to throw Azul under the bus ASAP…

I am so happy Vil got to experience this side of Jade. He deserved it…

Tw ED stuff

Not my phone deciding to give me an “on this day” photo and it’s body checks from my lowest adult weight 2 years ago. Like thank you for reminding me how thin I was compared to how big I am now. I should just delete those pictures, but there’s that part of me that needs to hold on so it feels real. I lost almost all of my pictures from my lowest weight as a teen apart from 1 because my first ED therapist recommended I delete them all since I mentioned how damaging it felt to look back on them. She said I didn’t need to keep proof despite my insistence. It’s probably a good thing I don’t have those pictures anyway because it would be a red flag to keep pics of a teenager in their underwear even if that teenager was me lol.

The ones from 2023 though, because I was in so much pain, I had zero desire for food and I was also mostly bedbound since I had reached the point where I couldn’t put any pressure on my right leg without screaming. I’d have to either use crutches or hobble around. Also could not stand to take showers. You can actually see the muscle wastage in my legs they were like concave on my outer thighs. I never thought my legs could look like that. I have always been insecure about being bottom heavy. I know that’s not an accomplishment, but in my fucked up ED brain it felt like I had achieved something. I had nothing going for myself other than pain, but at least I was finally thin when the year before I was clinically obese. My weight has bounced around so much in my life. I’m currently a healthy bmi now, but I feel like the Michelin Man.

There’s also that rational part of me that knows that that’s not a healthy body for me and I shouldn’t dwell nor strive for it, but then there’s the other part of me that feels like it’s not fair that other people who were way worse than me got to proudly post their body checks and act like they didn’t know what they were doing when they definitely did. Curse me for being mindful I guess and only keeping my photos for personal use. Sometimes I wish I could post them all to prove that I actually was thin and didn’t always look like this blob monster. I hate to admit it, but I always loved the attention I got from being at low weights. I liked when people were concerned or said I looked disgustingly thin because at least they weren’t calling me fat or telling me I shouldn’t eat so much.

That weird account from IG that posted AI articles and doxxed flower commented under the F1 anti harassment post. She said that people are even using his infant child to insult him. I assume this is why MG was pushing so hard to receive hate the past days. She most likely knew this would be posted. So she wanted to prepare some bs to play victim again but it didn't work. And now that scammer account is spreading the lie that people attacked the child.... It's all so calculated that it's disgusting!

Very calculated by a psycho manipulator and her army of underage morons. Their problem is their combined IQ is only double digits and easy to anticipate.

Let private account release a picture of MG assumed to be from Monaco after party even though Sass was fully booked that day and in that picture it wasn't.

Have THAT big minion account leak "news" that Max stays in a hotel

Somehow have the exposing MG account publish both

As said many times, I believe it was a trap because they wanted us to hate her and freak out that she dared to go out. We didn't. But there's been many "I can't believe how much hate MG gets. Mothers can go out" even though she did NOT get hate for it.

First trap mostly failed including the hotel fake news from the minions after the creepy picture in front of his house was released

And now this photographer posts BTS. Keeps it up for over 1h until "somebody" finally sends it to Flower who posts it and only then deleted it herself. But surprise surprise her minion fanpages don't post. They are usually very fast with it. Same as the after party picture. They didn't post it. They wanted US to post it so MG can scream look the haters did it. Even though this is again leaking through 3rd party just like we predicted she would ever since the announcement in December. since i’m not involved personally, i feel it’s fine for me to sound unbiased and unhurt by drama. So i’m going to talk about the Wilbur situation, even though it’s not my place, i think it’s worth noting. I know it’s been 11 months almost a year, but finally seeing the stuff i’ve never seen before helps put a picture of a pattern.

So looking closer, i think it’s pretty crazy all the Wilbur red flags there were in multiple old clips. Of course i know Niki and Minx’s friend mentions and the fundy wall hole, but i wasn’t expecting other people as well. The talk about the apple🍎 and Q’s first impression of Will? How many people noticed something off? Now, this makes me want to see if there were more concerning clips of Wil before everything, some that the internet has yet to mention. Considering i mostly just watch Tommy, this is just something i wanted to point out and really highlight (i’m sure people noticed but i don’t think people really recognized it).

Okay after the two Tom vlogs including the 2 worst of Will red flags on camera, (btw just somehow are the few vlogs i never watched, and i’m noticing a coincidence of me never watching all the videos and streams of the red flags until now), i’m trying to see if it’s mentioned as a behind the scenes talk, because the people in the vlogs like Phil and Tubs sometimes mentions stuff b.t.s. Turns out the Amsterdam vlog (the one where he bites Tom) was posted months after it happened (September), I found a reddit post in April with a picture of the gang with their exact place and outfits. I was previously looking for Tommy vods and twitter posts around the date of the video date, but now i found the vod exactly after that vlog was filmed. I never watched this vod (i never watched every single Tommy stream btw, i’m not that devoted), but now i have.

Yes, Tommy mentions stuff behind the scenes of the vlog. Actually, Wilbur did too, which Tommy reviews over with his perspective in this vod. He doesn’t mention the biting but he does mention something else. Notably, that he has a sensitive spot on his torso sides that Wilbur keeps poking. Y’know, after the allegations, i immediately recognized how red flags Tommy’s last ever stream with Wilbur looks, one of which was how Tom seemed genuinely upset about Wil poking him (he poked him twice). Now, to have confirmation from 2022 that Tommy genuinely hates it, and for their last stream together before the allegations be Wil breaking his boundary on stream… yeah, no i don’t believe he had changed. I only found out he finally deleted their last vod together (but only unlisted the video he edited of it) about 5 months ago? I’m more surprised he kept it up for longer than 2 months.

To parallel Shelby, biting doesn’t seem like your typical physical abuse tactic. For that i say, neither does poking. I think Tommy first mentioned having a low pain tolerance in his vlog “Ninja Warrior,” but if you’re a fan then we all know he mentions it a few more times. I don’t want to be the person that tries to say Tommy being poked is abuse, but like Shelby says, abuse can look like a lot of things. It’s still an abuse of boundaries.

So, I just wanna say i only realized their last vod together was deleted because a wilbur soot fan reuploaded the video. I don’t think Wilbur ever poked Tommy on video before that one (in the disneyland france vlog it’s too shaky to see), so showing the clip would help paint a picture if no one reading this has seen it. i really don’t want to link the wilbur soot fan’s video that i just checked, is unlisted (that was pretty quick, it was up for at least 2 weeks), if you ask me to send it i will but this is the only twitch clip i could find that includes the scene in one clip.

Edit: okay this stream was probably recorded about 2 weeks or so after the hand stomping moment. In the disneyland vlog, it’s too blurry to see his damage. Specifically his right hand’s middle finger. But in this clip i can actually see his injured nail, albeit in the process of healing. You can sorta see it in a few videos later too.

"He mostly listens to music now, but when he talks, it's like poetry. But he's done writing it down. His eyes are narrow as hell and his voice is rough from years of fine whiskey. It's his birthday but you wouldn't know it. He doesn't believe in such things.

He doesn't like shaking hands. When you've had to do it a million times, you let your hand go limp, so the other guy follows suit. He thinks he's just a vessel, a cipher. But he knows he's the best by far. And he knows he'll be the best there ever was. But, for now, he just listens to other music. He nods a lot, but sometimes winces at a bad line. Not that I would know which is the bad line and which isn't.

He likes CDs, hates vinyl, hates people who like vinyl. Won't sign his name or stand for a picture. He says he's said all he ever has to say and I can see what he means. A man who's given all the great words he has and now stays silent.

I got lots of songs I wrote through the years. Too scared to show him. Too scared to show [mutual friend] Billy Joe [Shaver], too. But Billy Joe, he said, show them to me. But not him. Norm posted this on Twitter in 2015, sometime shortly after posting part I, and then deleted it a few hours later.

For context, he and Bob really were mutual fans of each other and it seems to be true that Norm once spent two days at Bob's house. But to exactly what extent this is real and to what extent it's an avid fan's satire of Bob's public image we will never know.

BTS Spiderverse AU Plans

The idea is to start getting the story published here and on AO3 by end of January.

The main plot, some side notes, and a few chapters are already written out as we started this a year ago, but need to undergo heavy editing. Already we've made some changes to plot points and bits of character backstory.

Big picture, I would love to have a full on website outside of tumblr that we use to house all the final iterations and works. The idea is to have it look like those cyber databases with 3D interactive models for suits and stuff - that will take years though, so bare minimum we've got the tumblr blog!

The blog itself will mostly be an archive of our creative process, just to keep everyone engaged with the work as much as possible. There are some suit design works that can be shared (though I will be immensely embarrassed about them lol) and as the designs undergo updates and final iterations, we'll post those here too.

There are 11 plot important characters, all of which get at least one chapter in their POV. We're trying to write it similarly to how Heroes of Olympus was written, because it made the most sense plot wise to go about it that way.

Of course, seven of the characters are the members themselves, and their suits and characters designs will be posted whenever I get a chance to go through their art for it. Three of the remaining characters also have suits/character designs, however we will refrain from posting those until those characters are introduced in the story.

That means that when a character is first introduced in the published work, we'll get their designs up.

One of these characters has a secret identity, so their suit will be up before their full character design.

And of course we had to involve ARMY, so we've made ARMY has the replacement for Lila/Lyla in the movie! A.R.M.Y is an AI that changes appearance each time we see them, so if you'd like for your likeness to be used please send us a submission or ask if either a description of yourself, a picrew/art piece to the nearest likeness, or if you're comfortable a photo of yourself. All photos sent in will not be saved to personal devices and will be deleted after they are written into the story! DO NOT give us any more identifying information (such as your name) in this submissions/asks!

I feel like not having an oppressive management company and getting room to breath would be so beneficial to the boys that their personalities would start to actually get a chance to develop since they were like 15-16 I'm pretty sure when their contracts started. Like they got put into little boxes of who they had to be for everyone else around the time people start to come unto their own. I think that theyd go on a hiatus to deal with all the legal shit and then they'd have like a m a j o r rebrand for Saturday where they just get to be them. So without further adue welcome to my late night hyperfixation dungeon.

Zach: so with the space and ability and support system to help him unlearn being such a people pleaser I feel like Zach would get one of the biggest character growth arcs. First off he played soccer before doing boy band things. He most definitely has a competitiveness to him that just didn't have time to get explored in the book. So competitive Zach. Also he gives sassy in a very sarcastic and over the top dramatic way. Just silly goofy because he doesn't feel pressured to be perfect in any way anymore. Does chaotic shit mostly with angel Very very cat coded. Still socially awkward though. King of questionable decisions.

Ruben: I think he just gets to a point where his solution instead of going to therapy is just very dry humor. He makes a lot of jokes at his own expence. Very much a "if I go to therapy I won't be funny anymore" type. King of sarcasm. "That sounds like an issyou not an issme". Doesn't typically participate in the chaos but is 100% an instigator. people watches with Jon in the mornings. He likes low level drama in his own life when there aren't any stakes. Very much a pot stirrer. Is constantly in disbelief that he gets to live this life this way and sometimes gets terrified that he's just gonna wake up one day and it's a dream but it never is. Eventually he gets talked into therapy and works through his shit.

Angel: still a very silly goofy guy revels in the chaos he creates. He still likes to party but not like before. He likes to people watch with some overly sugary drink and talk shit. He claims it's that "their introvertedness is rubbing off on me". Loves spoiling the boys and its constantly "omg I love you guys so much you're literally my family" but hates the second all that attention is redirected to him and it becomes "ew gross no get off of me feelings ick I hate you all". Since he doesn't have to dress in a way he doesn't want to anymore the first thing he does once rebrand plans are a go is post a shirtless picture captioned "it's finally time for slut era"

Jon: still the voice of reason sometimes. Shuts down the potentially dangerous chaos and very poorly pretends to be annoyed at the regular chaos but enjoys that their house is full of life and laughter and love especially with the high contrast it has with the way he grew up. During morning people watching sessions with Ruben sometimes they have really deep conversations about various religions and how they can be and are used to help and hurt people. Grows to own being referred to as mom by the boys and by fans. He still isn't super touchy feely but he shows he cares in litter favors or remembering one the one time five months ago that he was talking to someone about something they wanted and did/got that thing for them. Is the organizer of birthday parties. He likes thrill type scenarios when the risks are controlled and he knows how it'll play out. Strong believer in therapy and has been begging Ruben to go for ages.

This Month In "Time & Again" #36: We Wrote An Automatic White Frame Clean-up Script For The Broken Krita Recorder! 🥳🥂

(I SWEAR I'm not trying to write big posts; they just turn out this way every single time)

In the previous post I wrote about a couple of major workflow tweaks I made to help me out on my "Time & Again" Chapter 6 journey. Well this time, there's more good stuff - not directly related to art itself though, but very handy for something that is related to art.

Earlier (and even earlier) I, together with a bunch of other artists, complained about the broken Krita Recorder that randomly creates blank white frames that makes the final output videos virtually unwatchable. I had to manually go through all the frames that the Recorder has taken - be it 200 or a whooping 20000 - and no less manually weed out all the white frames to make the video watchable.

So, as indicated in that previous post, I finally got to address the issue to automate the process of cleaning up the folders to prepare them for the video conversion. THE TIME HAS COME. Because I started to record everything that I do in Krita to produce timelapses. Yup, all the 61 pages of "Time & Again" Chapter 6. And all the additional and extra little stuff for "Time & Again" and outside of "Time & Again" (although for the sake of clarity and honesty, I must mention that the latter category virtually doesn't exist in my artistic life anymore, for Lothar's adventures take all my creative time).

Needless to say, I urgently needed an automation tool, because I am not going manually through all of my 100000+ frames that the broken Recorder took, wasting hours and hours of time that I could've input into the actual development of "Time & Again".

So, together with the help of our friend and Brian The Editor-in-Chef, we wrote a script that cleans up the white frames without my intervention and without the need to be present while it's doing all the manual tedious job automatically. Finally. The dream came true.

In the essence, it's basically a simple Python script (running through CMD; it's so simple it doesn't have/need a UI) that also uses Pillow library that goes through an entire folder, looks for completely white pictures (completely white per channel), and then deletes them. If there's a single pixel present on a picture, the picture won't be deleted. Simple? Simple. Foolproof? Yes! And it works wonders. No need to spend hours trying to clean everything up manually.

That's what the scary "DOS window" looks like when I use our tool on a folder:

Once the entire folder has been scanned and fixed, I go back to Krita and use the other simple tool - Rebecca's Krita Tools - that I wrote about in the same older post: I reorder the snapshots in the folder, otherwise Krita will give up on assembling a video as soon as it stumbles across one of the deleted files:

Once I see the message like the one on the screenshot above, I know that the video is ready to be encoded! So lovely! So nice!

... Sadly or not, our friend's part of the Python code was entirely scrapped in the end. But I don't think they're overly upset about it. But they did point in the right direction with Pillow, so that was super valuable.

For me, this is the complete workaround for the broken Krita Recorder. Until that issue is fixed in the future releases of Krita (and I should probably open a bugfix request on the forum to accelerate the process), I'll be using those tools to make my life tenfold easier and peanut buttery smooth. Now I can actually make timelapse videos to make everybody happy without prepping everything manually. Livin' a dream.

I have other - mostly creative - musings that I wanted to quickly share in this post before I log out and dive back into the world of Lothar's depressive debauchery.

Looking into making videos for YT again, I rediscovered Glaxnimate that the newer releases of Shotcut ship alongside with. I'd really love to play with it in my spare time that I never have. That's be something totally new to me - well, with the exception of the vector design itself, but the animation part is definitely new to me! I'm looking forward to exploring a new means of creating nice and scalable things.

I've been also thinking about re-establishing my Time & Again's presence in socials again more than I do now - which I've been thinking a lot about last week and earlier, but I got totally sidetracked at this point with a couple of side endeavours/plans. I must admit, I'm really getting seriously annoyed and ethically devastated by the "regular", algorithmic socials that most people use. Let's be honest here: those socials are just terrible and are usually aimed at the addicts/doomscrollers (nope, not the type of doomscrolling you've been thinking about in regard of my persona)... I already wailed and wailed about the times that passed long ago when I used to spend a lot of time on DeviantArt and actually engaged into fun conversations with people, before DeviantArt had turned into a "social network" and a pr0nhub. I miss natural, organic discovery and therefore genuine, meaningful interactions without totally vague likes, followers instead of friends, rules like "only 5% of your subscribers can actually see your posts that they will not read anyway, so why bother?", and all the other ethical what-the-f**kery that the algorithmic socials brought along with them (and most humans just silently accepted them, and now they're even less happy with life). Out of all the social networks, I think Twitter has become the worst for the creatives right now, to the point that I don't even see any reason to be there anymore (except for the Doom modders and John Romero). I never go there anymore and I log back in for 2 minutes only and only to brashly drop another link to a Tumblr blog post. I think I will stop updating it with art stuff entirely - but I will keep my account just to occasionally share my gaming notes if I ever get to that like I used to years ago. Don't know if anyone will be interested at all, but that's the plan so far. I'm an incredibly nerdy artist after all. Ah, I also might use Twitter to send yet another dorky Doom artwork to John Romero someday; hope he likes my stuff 😁 (which reminds me: aw gawsh, it's Quake anniversary next year! Welp, gotta draw them shamblers with my signature cartoony ears then) My next stop, to fix what has been lost after Twitter has gone downhill for me, I believe, should be Mastodon, which I have discovered rather accidentally thanks to my favourite Doom modder. I just want my art to be naturally discovered like in the early/mid 2000's, like a nice bird in the bushes that I've never had a chance to see before. Like the other day when I went for a walk in the park with my friend, and we saw a cormorant in the wild for the first time. I organically discovered the dorky bird, and I was super happy. No stupid algorithms involved (RNG sure was involved though, but RNG happens in life on a regular basis 😅). The avid birder in me is overexcited. About organic art discovery, too.

Oh yeah! Not exactly art related, but I'll tell anyway! Not long ago, I got to meet a Brazilian porcupine in person, and I even got to pet them! That's so cool! I love those animals!!! I should really draw one (or two) someday. For those days/hours when I feel my brain doesn't exactly want to cooperate with the realistic representation of the aforementioned locations, that Quake mod truly serves as a titanite-like twinkling box of wonders and inspirations. I highly recommend. I missed the techbases, the eldritch horror, and the NIN galore of Quake so dearly. And grab a friend along for a ride with you. It's very well worth it. Yes, you can play it in co-op.
