however I feel like the way they've overtaken fandom analysis/ shipping culture is an indication of the general decline of fandom communities.

It just occurred to me that at some point in the story obviously Rose and Astarion will get together (Cooler Than Me Universe) but then my dear Gale will be the only single one among three couples...Or do you have plans for a romantic partner for our sweet man? Btw being the only single person among couples of friends is something I can relate to and I personally find it fun. I went fishing at Christmas (Here it is summer at Christmas) with my friends (couples) and every time I caught a fish everyone praised me and applauded like I was a child and I loved it.

GUYS!! I JUST REALISED SOMETHING 😭

(This post is NOT understandable, at least not for everyone, bc I'm trying to explain things in a different language while I manage to translate it in my head hehe)

So, I was talking to a friend (mostly me, it was a LONG audio, 14 minutes), and while I was recording, I realised something. I was telling her about how, even if I don't agree on it, I understand the hate that VI and Caitlyn receive. While I was talking, I said, just as a comment, "but Zaun was the real Jinx. It has none speaking for them now." I was shocked, I remembered seeing some comments speak about arcane's writing and design having a high contrast. While Its writing it's about love and how war leads to nothing, the design shows us how "peace" leads to shit. Bc, not to offend, but under Vander's lead, they were conforming with shit, and I'm not saying that Silco's lead was better, both of them were shit, but vander's lead was like....calm before the storm.

Anyways, as soon as I made that comment, I told her "OOOOH. THATS WHY THEY SAY THAT THE WRITING AND THE DESIGN SHOW DIFFERENT STORIES!!". Lest be for real, nothing solve for Zaun, they are still a dumbstruck, and they live from leftovers. Piltover was so wrong that I can't even explain it.

Why do I understand the hate to VI and Cait?

As a Dominican, my history is somehow alike to Zaun's history. Our countries were oppressed, and we lived from our neighbours' leftovers (Haiti and Piltover). I do understand that VI was wrong, if not for her country, for her family. Vander had a deal with he enforcers, but he wasn't part of them nor helped them. They just had a deal. VI was in the wrong. It was not cool leaving your country and agreeing with the enemy just for a girl, and even if it wasn't bc of a girl, it was still not cool.

I mean, she had fewer reasons to be an enforcer than to be a rebel:

1-Killed her parents

2-Put her in jail

3-Bassically gave them shit (SHE KNEW IT EVEN AS A KID!!)

4-Had deals with Silco

5-Ruined her life

I mean, it was a shitty move throwing ACID to people just to kill someone. "Caitlyn had it under control, it was just to criminals and blah blah blah" YES, I KNOW!!, it doesn't change that she was out of control, what makes you think that every person that had that acid survived? The Piltover kid was SICK, and he HAD all the resources to heal, Zaun's kids didn't, I mean, they were homeless, hungry, SICK, what do you thing that that acid would make to them??.

So, to conclude, Zaun is now a shitty place, no resources, no people, no peace, everything they got (like the flowers to purify the air, people to help and all that) are gone, and, again, they have leftovers from piltover.

Let's be for real for a second, Piltover is going to focus on regaining all their losses, their structures, their building, their power schemes, EVERYTHING!! Nobody (except Ekko and Sevika) is going to think about Zaun, and even if they unify the country, and accept Zaun's people on Piltover, It wouldn't change a damn thing.

Piltover is fancy, and Zaunites are going to be excluded from every event unless it is SPECIFICALLY for Zaunites.

Hey what’s the most recent Leo and Usagi doodle about? I know in the past you said you wouldn’t make any sexual content/sexual abuse content abt the two and I think I mistook what the art is supposed to be because it looks like Leo taking advantage of Usagi while Usagi tries to say he reported Leo via the lyrics of the song? Could you explain the art yourself so I can understand it better and not confuse anything?

Mkay so basically:

The piece is mostly meant to actually represent the sense of powerlessness that Usagi feels and the inescapable situation he's in.

Nudity, both in my art and a lot of others, often times represents being exposed/unsafe/uncomfortable, bc clothes are often times one of the things that show we are 'civilized'. Nudity in this artwork shows a sense of powerlessness, and is meant to make the viewer feel uncomfortable (especially in comparison to Leo, who has his gloves and boxers on, showing how he has more power in the situation)

The lyrics come from the song A&W by Lana Del Rey. In my SUBJECTIVE opinion, the song is about a girl who is seen as a whore to the world, someone who asked for all the bad things that happened to her, when in reality she had no control and was abused. Aka, exactly Usagi's situation.

The lyric I specifically used was, "Your mom called, I told her, 'You're fucking up big time.'"

Within the song, it's meant to reference how the man she's with is cheating on his wife/abusing a vulnerable girl to do so. In my artwork, its meant to show how Usagi really has no support system to get help, and how Leo is fucking things up by, ya know, being an abuser

BM doesn't know Usagi exists. Leo also hates BM. Usagi answering the phone and telling her that Leo is hurting him would mean nothing. Plus, in the artwork, Usagi is using his hand to mimic a phone, showing how him asking for help is just an imaginary fantasy.

The words themselves exist in stark contrast to the situation around them. The actual artwork is dark and soft, few harsh edges and in a painterly style. The words are harsh and blocky, showing how they are not something said in the situation, how asking for help almost seems unnatural and fake.

The pose is meant to show a sense of powerlessness. Usagi is being pinned by someone much more dangerous then him, and all Usagi can do is look to the viewer and his own inner world to ask for help and safety, both of whom can provide neither of those things.

Leo's eyes are blocked out too, which is meant to make him less human (yk, eyes are the windows to the soul and all), whereas Usagi's eyes are looking directly at the viewer, where he seems angry and tired.

I can't control if people take a sexual theme from my art, so I've kinda just given up and have been doing my own thing. But I can assure that it wasn't my intention to be seen as a depiction of SA. Hope this helped!

episode 9 broke me

like rei making more of an effort to help around the house and showing his care for miri and kazuki,, it's so beautiful. like kazuki thinking he's gone mad by wanting to make rice balls is so funny, he is so dramatic

and also kazuki is close to the daycare mamas!! he got into their group!!! pls tell me he's in the gc!!

also this, i love when they make these jokes

and then they joke about how kazuki is a comedian and kazuki is like "don't talk about that!" and they laugh at him saying how funny he is. he is an unfunny clown.

also miss anna is so great i love her every time she's on screen i love you

also soccer mom kazuki is a treat i like him being so passionate about his daughter like he really shows his love. and he gets so upset when she's with taiga it's so cute. and also this, rei being protective after episode 8's revelation that he wants to protect miri and kazuki hit me so hard okay.

rei's development is amazing, i rewatched the series thru the english dub (they did really great btw, i speak both languages so it was neat to see the changes and such), and gosh did rei change a TON. like he's allowing himself to be more emotive and present in kazuki and miri's lives,,, so sweet.

also rei put cereal and strawberry jam in rice balls, ngl that sounds good. like gummies in rice balls is a neat concept. and all the girls loved it too and he smiled,,,, we love to see it

and what i love is miri loses the race. i didn't except it to happen bc she trained so hard, but ya know it's a realistic outcome. BUT GOD rei cheering her on is so sweet,,, he's grown a lot

also seeing taiga's parents explains a lot on how he acts and i love how they look. like it's very cool to see someone with dyed hair in japan since it's frowned upon, you can tell they are close

also whenever miri says, "パパたち" i cry a little each time. that term is just to cute and personal gosh,,,,

and then the event where she needs to find something and bring it to the finish line, and she grabs rei. together the three win the gold. and then it's revealed what the note said, "family."

this,,, this is where i broke. it's so genuine and a perfect way to show how far this family has come, and that miri was able to win the gold with her papas,,, so perfect the writing is amazing for this show and has been consistent with it too. this is a special show in that regard.

and then they make a comment on how rei and kazuki have never had a picture together bc it can't be known they are associated with one another. which is really interesting, and it makes a ton of sense of course. it's a bad idea to take the photo together, but they do it for miri,, their soft spot.

kazuki telling how much he appreciates rei cheering on for miri is also very cute i like that detail.

and then yet again, they state their commitment to miri

both of them want to watch miri grow up.

and then they punch you in the gut reminding you how the last episode ended, thanks.

this episode was mostly fluff, and we all needed it after episode 8,, but god this domestic stuff hits me harder than the angst i gotta admit. bc even when all those bad things happen, they make an effort to make sure they can continue with their live with miri and let her have a normal childhood.

I've been listening to this album none stop and I don't know why.

Since March I've been going From Las mujeres ya no lloran to Cowboy Carter nonstop, they got me like

But I said mmm let me go listen to these two queens' whole discography, after I finished I went back to Beyonce's self-titled and I'm stuck there.

The first time I heard a song from this album I was still learning English, so I was like what the hell is a "Partition". I know I know, but I was tiny with pure thoughts.

I barely remember when the album dropped but the world was in shambles, I wasn't a fan then but I liked some of her songs, mostly the singles.

Everybody was talking about Partition because of the damn chair, but to me, the song sounded crazy like the rhythm was wrong, idk what it was but I didn't like it.

But I kept coming back to Partition even tho it sounded weird to me, but I was like this this:

Anyway, BEYONCE is the album that made me a fan, a few years later tho, I knew more english and I've matured. I listened to the album again and realized what a masterpiece that album is.

It's my favorite album from her, all the albums that have come after are probably better because Beyonce keeps growing as an artist and even today she hasn't peaked which is scary but BEYONCE is like an after and before of her career.

It feels like she said fuck commercial success, and I know she's been saying this since 4, but what she did was very risky and she made history.

BEYONCE is my favorite album because she was having fun, being horny, bisexual, and got a bob, how can I not love this album.

Like did she need to do all of this? no, but she did and we are thankful.

1. Pretty Hurts.

I think this is her weakest opening for an album. It's not one of my favorite songs from her in general but it's not a skip like people like to say, and somehow set the tone for what the album is. Also watching Beyonce throw up was shocking to me as an easily impressionable young girl.

2. Haunted.

Probably one of her less commercial songs but a masterpiece nonetheless. It's so so SO good, I wish I could eat this song. "Working 9 to 5 just to stay alive" She is so right for that and "Probably won't make no money off this, oh well" with the ghostly voice. A masterpiece through and through. "My wicked tongue where will it be". One of my favorite videos too.

3. Drunk in love.

Beyonce is a very horny person she put all of that in her art but when she sings with Jay-Z I feel they often get too close to giving too much information bc why was Jay saying they conceived Blue in Paris at the OTR tour? Me, personally I didn't need to know. Anyway, this song is a hit, it's better than Crazy in Love (a timeless hit) but not as good as Deja Vu.

But hello? The surfboard line and the "your breastesses in my breakfast" line. Just horny people and like he said "My wife Beyoncé, I brag different" I'll be like that too.

It's crazy how this song makes me feel so nostalgic. It's like it brings happy childhood memories. That kind of feeling makes me love and appreciate this song so so much.

how does this tie to my kinsona? why did i choose this lore? simple rlly: burnt out gifted kid. that's all im gna say. i fell down SO FAR it's not even funny.

i relate to sonic himself in many ways but one thing i struggle to relate to him is our experiences. while king arthur in canon satbk is well 'dead' (or nonexistent per se), what if sonic's alt exists in satbk (like shadow and lance). that's where im coming from. still was king of camelot, js dethroned. someone else took over idk who but that's not impt for now.

lance still stays with him (COUGH self indulgent COUGH) bc he's too loyal to actl leave arthur's side despite him serving the new king. him and the knights of the round table are the only people who know about this new jester's true identity bc arthur didn't want to be known, not out of shame due to his dethronement but he simply wanted a fresh start. he doesn't want to be weighed by his past responsibilities anymore. he doesn't want to be seen as king. while power is great, it isn't for him. that's why he tries to make himself as unrecognizable as possible while keeping some hints of his charm. why? so people see him and go "why does he look so familiar but i can't put my finger on it" (he loves to confuse people)

Arthur is, you guessed it, trans 🔥🔥🔥 ftm as most hcs say. how does this work in the medieval realm? born female, forced to become male initially bc he's the only child and his parents desperately needed a heir for the throne. if the kingdom found out their new leader was a fucking girl they'll go on a riot for sure so. in a sense, arthur has been male his whole life. while initially he despised this whole ordeal, he's grown to feel comfortable with himself. he's denied it for so long but eventually embraces it. it's a bit of an identity crisis bc his external persona is male, but when no one is looking his parents treat him like a female. it messes him up a lot and eventually says fuck it "nah ima do my own thing"

^ js a disclaimer this is from my knowledge of society in medieval times. im not very sure how heirs work. ive heard that princesses CAN be queens w/o a suiter but again, im uncertain.

the halloween fits truly were everything. with the bunny fits one of the only events where looking at the bottom parts only made me break out in sweats half the time.

i'm not necessarily gonna rate them, but i'll give my thoughts.

lucifer

solid outfit. the hat i'm okay with since it doesn't look like it's got a life of its own (hat that shall not be named). the zipper shoes however need to go, the white is not giving and certainly a choice for an almost all black outfit. even in white they'd look way better as dress boots with laces.

also love how they somehow managed to give lucifer even more pieces of clothing than usual, unquestionably a skill.

anyway i can't really complain about the outfit bc the card was drawn by the dilf hair lucifer artist. i forgive all mistakes for that.

mammon

it's giving shady vendor it's giving Dr.Facilier with the colour scheme. maybe a bit questionable that he isn't wearing any socks but. it's the horror outfit so maybe that checks out. i personally would've replaced the tie with a bunch of necklaces and have given the man some damn socks. i'd always give mammon at least 60% more jewelry in general that man should be dripping in it.

for me this one is the least exciting one out of the bunch, but i still like it.

the jason mask??? the boots?? hands down this is one of the only times i am in love with obey me brand shoes bc these look GOOD (maybe it's just the obey me church stompers trauma talking). love love love the coat and i am also weirdly okay with the brown pants since they match the dried blood on the coat. the gloves are a bit unnecessary though.

i both love and have my beef with this outfit. when i saw the dress i almost flipped my phone because finally!! the devs let a charcter aside from asmo be a bit more feminine looking! then i saw the bottom and went. hmmmm. i think i just don't like that he's wearing both a dress and dress pants (that have buttons on the side. ew) combined? i genuinely think the outfit would've been more cohesive if they either leaned more into the feminine side (dress closed a bit further down, tights, boots with a higher heel) or the more androgynous side (corset with lacing in the center, dress as more of a blouse, high waisted pants, bottom of the dress if kept more like an overskirt?)

he's perfect, he's beautiful, he looks like linda evangelista, he's a model

no questions asked. perfection. the spider theme/black widow theme is so fucking perfect for him. also the placement of the blood on his hands and sleeves? casually going insane over him they did him so well. definitely my favourite out of them all.

alright. i am conflicted about this one. because it's camp. no idea what made the devs give belphie a sexy nurse theme but i'm here for it. maybe not necessarily the executiion but still. the skeleton print is my arch nemesis. what in the hot topic fingerless emo gloves is going on here. love the little belt on his thigh but also. safety. hazard babes. he'd be getting poked by needles every step he takes. i don't even wanna look at the little bo peep ass looking shoes.

i would've loved the outfit even more if they'd given him a skirt instead of his little short shorts. maybe not a visually appealing one but definitely an amusing one.? like yeah it's ugly but yeah i also like it because it's silly.

beel

for a beel outfit? god tier. man always has to suffer from boring outfit syndrome, but this one is good as long as you keep your eyes trained on the upper part. the devs shortly released him from the yas girl give us nothing basement. we do not talk about the ginormous clown stompers on his feet though. it looks less camp than belphie's nurse outfit and i'm here for it.

'kay! First up, Aaron reacts exactly that way because he knows Luca. Uhm, I'd say there is a major respect thing going on bc, while they did grow up knowing each other in their teen years, those years are the exact damn reason. They mostly had a good relation, ever since their youth, BUT! Aaron just knows how damn destructive Luca can be, and so he usually shushes whenever he doesn't want to cross any lines and witness what follows after, or doesn't want to get snapped at (even if Luca did improve quite a lot in his behaviours. but you can't completely engulf that flame, ya know? so he's playing safe, if he feels like that's the smarter option)

Otherwise, they have a pretty chill friendship. Most frequently whenever they're spending time, it's thru Vale bc he's the reason why they even got to know each other, but they also do hang out on their own every now and then, they're on a pretty good and equal base, I'd say so? With a lot of shared interests, esp their love of festivals & raves bonds them, they visit them rather frequently together. Luca also provides Aaron some weed every now and then, you could say he's his main plug (even tho Luca (usually) isn't a dealer, but he has way more social connections than Aaron, so he's taking advantage of that situation).

ok so i think about nothing happens jeggy all the time and i think i've figured out why i am so much more judgemental/less forgiving of james cheating on his gfs than i am of regulus cheating on his bfs (other than the fact that he's older and initiated it the first time)

regulus is just so in love with james and i imagine he would leave his bfs in a second if james said he wanted a relationship with him. even though there's no excuse for cheating, at least it seems like he is trying to move on but is just so in love with james that he can't stop himself

ooh can i ask what story the girl turning into the spider is from? it sounds sweet!

oh uh... it's sweet in the sense that, even though pretty much everything goes wrong, some things still go right?

Tavra (spider girl) is a very stoic, somewhat blunt and socially awkward, generally grim, only ever laughs bitterly but will gently stroke your cheek and remind you to keep moving forward main supporting character in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance YA books written by J.M. Lee. (mostly in the third one, tides of the dark crystal) (SPOILERS) She's... kinda like the older sister figure / adopted mom / eventual one half of fav OTP to the three point of view characters? Her whole thing is being ready to sacrifice herself and her happiness for the sake of saving people, enduring pain without flinching even while telling others to be careful, repeatedly almost dying and smiling about it....

....except that she really, really, REALLY wants to see her girlfriend again, too. Especially after kinda sorta dying and getting spider-ed.

Her uncharacteristic rashness and nervousness when showing herself to Onica- and Onica's zero hesitation to reach out to the small spider that sounds like Tavra- is the first clue these two are A Thing.

They've been a thing for a loooong while. A forbidden secret romance kinda thing.

Onica turns out to be outwardly the sun to Tavra's cloudy day, except she's actually still VERY angry at Mayrin (Tavra's mother) for being a jerk, and VERY bitter over how Mayrin treated Tavra over their relationship- and while Tavra tries making excuses for her mom the best she can come up with in the end is a damningly faint "that was a long time ago". Which. Well.

Anyway, up till now Tavra has always taken on the role the Experienced And Steady Advisor and Guardian to her new younger friends, but once she's back on Onica's ship (Onica is a single crew sailing ship captain able to dream of things happening far away have i mentioned that?) Tavra starts finally relaxing enough to show some of the stresses she's been under lately, even going off and 'mope' when her attempt at teaching one young friend how not to get killed with a sword goes badly.

(moping is described as Tavra "just being Tavra") (her kinda new little sister is the one saying this) (Tavra can be recognized in any form by her dower frown) (especially funny when Onica is constantly described as laughing and chuckling and wearing a mysterious smile)

So blah blah blah, Onica is a the good kind of terrifying and almost dies, Tavra saves her via the power of gay flashbacks with the help of their new number 1 shipper-

Then Onica's bestie, who is in huge awe of Tavra, tries to push a traumatized depressed disabled woman in the body of a spider into leading all their people in revolution bc she'd be ideal for it- and Onica very pointed says that you can't help others if you don't take time to help yourself before going off to presumably snuggle her sad spider gf.

The two are last seen in the books as Tavra's sorta adopted teen son Kylan-

(who turned her into a spider to save while committing murder despite generally being a pacific presumably bc of the trauma of watch his birth parents get snatched away by murders as a child)

-decides to look at some runes, and Tavra says she and Onica will stay with him.

So. Tavra never gets her old body back, and her mom is murdered, and part of her soul is drained and eaten, and her sisters probably think she's dead- but she also does not die. By the end of the story she is happy with the family she has found, and finally fulfilling her and Onica's promise to someday live their lives as one.

Oh did i mention there's a parallel between her and Onica's secret forbidden romance and the more tragic example that kicks of the whole story?

Did i mention Onica calls Tavra "my love"?

And Tavra was a swordswoman before becoming a spider?

I don't know if you wanted or needed all this info and I don't care, there will never be enough stuff about these two written but by gods i will take ever chance to scream about them

(<- can't get rid of?) james fell first. lmao. no funny comment no jokes he's just that kinda guy, and he's liked roxy for a long long time. as for who fell harder... well... i'd say it's up for debate. in my mind, it's roxy, just because i've got the timeline of their relationship so permanently etched into my brain i might as well get it tattooed in the back of my eyes or something. but from just the writing + whats out of the story, i think the case could be made for james as well!

2. who is the one who fusses the most? does their s/o mind very much?

rox for sureee. we all saw how she was when he got sick! miss girl was good and freaked; almost felt sick herself just looking at him. wrapped him up in a blanked burrito, tried to give him as much medicine as she could, sat and played her guitar for him. she was so worried! james, though unwell, lapped that shit up tho. he looooves it - doesn't mind at all. he's not superrr fussy i'd say in general because he knows she can take care of herself pretty well, but he has his moments for sure. roxys usually 50/50 about being ok with it or not bc she knows he has good intentions

3. what is their love language?

call me a hater but i've never really understood only having one major love language (sorry), i think it's more of a combination of multiple that help made a good relationship among many other things. for roxy, i'd say she's more inclined to lean into quality time overall, just being around james and hanging out together as much as they can is her favorite thing ever. even if they're not doing anything particularly special, it's still important to her that they're doing it together. that, coupled with words of affirmation through songwriting is mostly how she's able to express her feelings (maybe that can also count for receiving gifts if we call each song one?), though if james did press her she could be able to fumble out some affirmations here and there :) for james, i'd say physical touch is huge for him - he's pretty much always got a hand on her somewhere if they're close enough. secondary for him is also words of affirmation and it comes much easier to verbally communicate for him than it is for her!

4. has either oc ever gotten a hickey off the other? what was their reaction?

ya. i'll put it in tasw when im not too embarrassed to write it and when i think their relationship is crossing into more physically intimate lines (though they are minors so nothing explicit will be written about them just as a sidenote). i'd say roxy is actually quite the demon about it, though she isn't leaving them where people would likely see because she'd get bashful about it. surprised james at first, and he's not fond of it happening too often bc bruises + his beautiful skin don't pair well. but as long as she asks first and he agrees he's fine to wait out the few days it takes to disappear. other way around, it's not his go to move because he knows it'll embarrass her if someone says something. so if he wants to leave one its going somewhere someone can't see. if he asks first she will also be okay with it every once and a while!

5. what is something they like to do together?

they're still honeymoon phasing it for the most part so just being together at all is something the two of them love. they haven't really found their thing yet, but music does really connect them. she's becoming more open to letting him hear her works in progress and he's learning a lot about her through that! they also like to make out :) a lot :)

I wanna start by saying I am the least confident in my aspec headcanons? They're extremely flexible moment to moment and I'm not attached to many of them. I could see almost anyone almost anywhere with only a handful of exceptions, honestly

Literally all of em are queer in some fashion, as you can tell from the fact that I forgot to put a "straight" category on the chart...

Anyway some in particular that im fond of that ive not really talked about before:

I love love love hc Aoi as a nonbinary lesbian. Its like,, lowkey projection,,, but I think its supported by the text. She's got some hang-ups surrounding womanhood and being a woman and how that relates to her relationship with men (im thinking specifically of her last fte). I think it would be a nice resolution to that struggle for her to shed the expectations she feels entirely and embrace who she is, even if its different from what she feels like she's "supposed" to be. Idk I think its a natural conclusion

I enjoy nonbinary chihiro for a similar reason. I think it would also be a natural conclusion to her struggles with gender and what masculinity and femininity means to them

And somewhat related I hc sakura as a cis lesbian also bc of her struggles with femininity?? I like the idea of her conclusion being to embrace her femininity wholeheartedly. She enjoys being feminine but has a hard time reconciling that with her strength. Id like to see her enjoy both of those things about her

I hc that akane is pan but for the longest time she just. Doesn't realize not everyone is like that? It was never even something to think about for her. Like she'll be talking to nekomaru and she's like "really you've never thought a girl was hot? Never? Men, I get ya, but *no* girls? That's possible?" And nekomaru gives her the most disappointed stare.

Idk why but nagito and nekomaru being the only gay men on the island is a lil funny to me

Also. I read a singular fic where nagito was demisexual and I was like ok you've convinced me (can you tell. I am. Easily convinced. About this kind of thing)

I go back and forth on whether I hc izuru as pan or aroace. Things like gender don't really matter to him, I just can't decide how that would work in terms of attraction for him 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Iiiiii dunno if this is an unpopular opinion or not buuut after checking out the G3 animated Monster High Mysteries, I have to say that I personally preffer the previous incarnation and characterisations.

Don't get me wrong, I don't HATE the ghouls now, I think its just a different reincarnation of the cast, but I also can't say I really warmed up to them.

Now mind you I only saw the Monster High Mysteries up to episode 4 so my exposure is limited. I wont say anything about storytelling or the like and focus only on the girls new... Vibes, yeah lets call it that.

Now, I am a very filthy Draculaura stan. After watching (I think?) the entirety of the old episodes, except the movies, I really fell in love with her. I love her little accent and how she is this slightly unaware, rich, girly girl. She always seemed like she would spare no expenses for her friends, but also often forget that not everybody is as fortunate as her or Cleo (Ghoul build multiple two story tall lockers for all her things). She is messy, she loooves to talk and gossip, she is PINK and proud of it, super into fashion and just unapologetically girly, I LOVE IT, especialls now since I rediscovered my love for girly stuff after the very famous "hating everything pink" phase.

The new iteration seems a bit more serious and down to earth. An excited bookworm and raised to perfection by her father (from what I could gather). Her cute lil accent is gone, the pink now seems less *intentional* somehow and she seems more like a... Idk, very standart pink leader type? Its a shame, because i always thought G1Draculauras whole vibe was what so many rejected as a young teen when they go into the "hate girly and feminine stuff bc YOU'RE A PROUD NOT LIKE OTHER GIRLS WOMAN!", ya know the kind that hates these shallow sluts who love boybands and pink and make up ew.

And I loved that about her. She is the typical "too much, but in a sweet way" girl, the type i would probably call when i got massive emptional turmoil, because she'd drop everything to be there for me and take me shopping to get my head off- no no no of course not, she'll pay, that's only natural c:

I dont have a lot to say when it comes to Frankie. (At least differentiating here is easier bc G1 Frankie used she/her and G3 Frankie uses they/them)

Frankie seemed not that much different from their old self. A tad bit naive, new to things, spunky, loyal and very caring, always trying for everybodies best, she is such a cinamonroll.

Frankie Stein in G3 seems mostly the same or very close to that? I can't say much considering I only saw these 4 short episodes, but they gave me very similar vibes.

Clawdeen is I think one that had a MASSIVE change from her previous version.

I am not qualified to speak about race related issues or the portrayal of POC in media. I dont know if the portrayal was deemed offensive, because it portrayed Clawdeen as the most "agressive" and fierce one, standing alone and independant, the only one without a boyfriend or other love interest, having a dialect I can not pin point, being one of the core group, yet seemingly having way less plot relevance and character arc that is purely hers (the whole arc with her brother dating draculaura was her 'meddling' with a relationship of one of the other ghouls) and being the ghoul with the most physical power after lagoona. I have no idea, I just noticed these things in particular. I personally LIKED G1 Clawdeen she seemed after Lagoona to be the one most earthed and steadfast. She is super family oriented, but even there i can not say if this is... A stereotype. I am not very versed on that topic, I will admit and I wont pretend I do. I am simply stating what I observed.

Clawdeen in G3 seems far more mellow, still very calm and collected, but more in alignment personality wise with the other ghouls (more on that later)

Lagoona my ghoul, after Draculaura one of my absolute faves. In G1 she was always kind of the mom of the group. A part of the core friendsquad but somehow still removed from most of the drama. She is the one that calls everyone back to the ground, she is the one most often keeping composure and being like that friend that doesnt have social media so they dont get super invested in trivial drama. i mean she is the only one not on the fearsquad bc she already has her position as captain of the swim team. She of course supports her friends without any hesitation! But you can tell that she is just one step outside the circle and therefore far more independant and seems way more mature. She is suuuper sporty and the type where I can see a guy saying "yer like one of the dudes". I love her whole australian persona and unpopular opinion but man you deserve better than Gill.

Her new iteration seems to have more of G1 Draculauras sweetness. She is even the only one with an accent. She seems more... Sweet and innocent and a bit younger. Like she'd be G1 Lagoonas lil sister.

Cleo de Nile. i always thought she gave me a bit of Most Popular Girls In School mckenzy vibes

G1 Cleo KNOWS she is a big deal. She is dramatic and in the beginning a straight up antagonist until she turns to be a really valuable friend. While Draculaura would be there for you emotionally and comfort you, Cleo is the type that will prevent you from going on a date if she isn't 100% sure your outfit is KILLER. the type to say "as your way more fashionable and popular friend, it is my DUTY to save you from this GROTESQUE jacket you are wearing!"

I always loooved her saying "Oh my Rah!" it was just so charming to me idk. She was always to me the rich girl that would say (again a mckenzie quote) "why don't you just tell me that I'm poor?!"

And honestly I loved her for that. She was dramatic (but a different type than Draculaura), but also so agressively caring, that its almost a THREAT. And that was pretty fantastic.

The new Cleo seems a bit more .. I think people call it "valley girl"? And ... I dunno how I feel about that. Its less overbearing but it also seems weirdly more... Arrogant in a way? I have a hard time putting it into words.

In general it feels like previously in Gen1 you could easily write down a sentance and IMMIDEATLY know who said it. The girls were SO distinctly different and unique, yet all SUCH good friends and i think that fit the message of monster high perfrctly. Everyone was a weirdo! Everyone could be themselves! And they all accepted each other! I wouldnt say they were very archetypical but they definitely all had their distinct colour. Everyone kind of had their own speech pattern, dialect or accent. I absolutely saw them as a wholesome squad that I'd hashtag as #goals. Aside of Clawdeen and Draculauras fight bc of Draculauras crush on Clauwde (how tf u spell his name) and the period in which cleo was an antagonist these ghouls were ALWAYS a tight group of friends. I think one of the most telling moments for me was when draculaura wanted to throw a party for frankies 16th day birthday and frankie organize a party for draculauras 1600th birthday. All their friends said they're busy and while it made both sad, they didn't dwell on it or got upset. Instead they said "well then we'll just party together c:". Their loyalty and friendship and its strength was just.. A given? Natural? Not even a question?

With the Gen3 I feel like its this almost... Fragile sort of middleschool friendship where even a small thing can drive it off balance and shatter it. They are all now more... Even? In a way? If the old squad was a plate full of different kinds of desserts then the new one is the same cake with different colouring but mostly the same flavour. It's not a hivemind situation, but it is also not as... Memorable.

i hope watching more of Gen 3 will make me think different. I hope i really get to like these ghouls.

And I guess that's my thoughts on it.
