Hey guys, Autism Bob here, more Tangled!PD au!!
This one specifically is going more into Dakota and Vyncents backstory’s cause THEY INTERTWINE!!!! This is Knifekicks btw, so enjoy!!
There are small spoilers for season 2 of PD in here, they are labeled and really aren’t that big at all, but wanted to be more safe then sorry!!
STARTING OFF WITH DAKOTA!!!! In the post before this I kinda went off about his backstory, but here are some details I didn’t mention!!
This is a spoiler!!! -> Dakota Cole isn’t Kota’s OG name in this world either!! Instead, “Cole” was from a comic book Dakota read as a child, just like “Flynn Rider”. The comic books were really the only thing Dakota didn’t have trouble reading, so he found an inspiration in Master Cole- or the hero in the stories. From then on, he used Dakota Cole as a stage name of shorts- or in this case a thief name.
I wanna expand on a point I made in the last post, and kinda more explain why Dakota is ok with stealing in this AU. Well for one, he doesn’t enjoy it. Kota sees it as a need, and frankly it is. Basically living on his own as a kid and teenager, he couldn’t get a stable job to actually get the money to buy food and necessities- so he turned to the one thing he could do to live. That doesn’t mean he likes it- not at all actually. That is why he agrees to steal the crown in the first place. Mark is a bitch of a ruler, letting the crown collect dust for 18 years- and doesn’t even bother to help the people in his kingdom because he’s poured all his resources into finding one person. Dakota hopes the princess comes home safe, but he can’t help but look at every other person Mark has basically left to rot in HIS kingdom.
This is a very vague spoiler (I can’t remember if any of this was mentioned season 1 😭😭) -> That brings me to talk about Vyncent. Without everything happening with the greats, Vyncent actually did follow in his father’s footsteps pretty well. Because of that though, he’s always looking for a challenge. He’s basically the most competent person in the guard, earning him the head of the guard title, but he finds most things boring. Guarding the crown. Walking around town- it’s all busy work when he grew up listening to epic tales of what the greats did- and now he’s stuck guarding a crown all day. Later on in the story, if it goes past the end of the movie (which it probably will, already got thoughts about William after the Tangled plot ends) then I’ll probably experiment with some news coming back about what happened with the greats- but with no Vyncent there- their kinda just fucked? Cue rescue mission probably, PD having to watch Vyncent go through his trauma first hand maybe? Who knows!!!
But with the combined fact that Vyncent is bored by ‘busy’ work at the castle, and Dakota never really being caught- they kinda have a rivals relationship at the moment. Dakota is the one thief Vyncent can’t catch, and it’s finally a challlenge that Vynce needs to keep himself busy. On Dakotas side, it’s a fun chase every single time- something out of the comic books he used to read. With all of the greats gone, the guard isn’t what it used to be, but Dakota also appreciates the challenge. It’s serious business for Vyncent, and just a game to Dakota- but they both have fun in their respective ways.
When Vyncent finds Dakota traveling with Ashe and William, Ashe tries to get them to get along just like in the movie- and it works. Though it mostly is just the promise that as soon as Ashe sees the lanterns, all bets are off and they are back to the chase. That changed by the end obviously- and in contrast to the chase scene in the beginning, Vyncent helps Dakota escape jail and get to the tower.
In short - competitive Knifekicks save me, save me competitive Knifekicks

Dressage in SSO, From a Person that has Played Horse Games a Lot
A while ago a few of us mentioned that we were going to make a dressage tips masterpost for SSO to use where I mumbled about different mechanics of dressage a la PC horse games for other people to build off of and for people who actually ride dressage to build on with actual dressage riding things. Because I’m just a person who likes to ride horses, but has never done dressage, and used to think jumping was cool until I realized anything over two feet in height is terrifying. But I have played, a, all of the Starshine Legacy and Star Stable Seasons games at one point or another, and, b, played a few other horse games with dressage incorporated.
No, this isn’t saying these ideas haven’t shown up in YouTube ideas videos. There’s several good examples where some of these elements have appeared in peoples’ hot takes on how SSO could incorporate a dressage “race.”
Regardless of how, I think they should endeavor to include it when they are ready. As a pretty big feature so many have been asking for for so long, I can imagine where it might be a bit daunting, so I’d like to start out by telling the team that the attempt is appreciated, and the building blocks already presented in the PC games aren’t actually bad, at least in my opinion.
I’d also like to amend something I’ve probably said before, and I’m sure other people have said, and probably will say even with this in mind: we joke about “how horrific” it would be for the team to make dressage movements available for all horses instead of having them exclusive to certain “dressage” typical breeds, but the vast majority of the horses in this game move differently from one another, or have a different body type. The Lusitano’s piaffe isn’t likely to look wonderful on a chunky updated North Swedish Horse, and it’d be almost impossible for our little stick-legged, blocky friends, the OG North Swedish. The team is in a place where it’s starting to focus on defining its style, and that’s very good, but it’s also going through the growing pains of trying to make the game look coherent in that style without fully abandoning its history because it’d upset a portion of the player base, hence the continuing presence of the horse market.
So, I would like to steer this discussion away from advanced dressage moves and focus on the first step forward: getting a basic course in. Walk, trot, canter, maybe even hand gallop to accommodate the fact that this game has been built on a speed-focused and travelling mechanic where travelling for long distances in anything slower than a hand gallop is basically torture unless you’ve willingly chosen to do so. Most of the time, though, we’re all running around like Sonic the Hedgehog.
So, I’m going to talk about three games. The Star Stable PC & Starshine Legacy games, Championship Riding Star (3, in particular, if I’m not mistaken? Let’s Ride Riding Star, with Cross Country, Dressage, and Show Jumping, with a blue icon and a red star with a pon in it), and Petz Horsez 2 (or Secrets of the Ranch, again, if I’m not mistaken). I’ve also broken this up by segment to hopefully find what you’re most interested in a bit easier.
THE PATH OR “TRACK”
All of these have one element in common: a path to follow on the ground. Star Stable uses blue arrows - gets the job done, but not exactly the prettiest thing around. Riding Star uses white block things that kind of look like a collapsible travel pet dish, which fit its light display aesthetic. Petz Horsez 2 uses dots color coded to the gait it is requesting. All of these I like for their purpose: stay on the path, and you will score better. Stray from the path, and you will score worse. They are meant to show the pattern you are to ride in, which, no, you wouldn’t technically have IRL, but the game’s also not asking you to memorize the Riding Hall Jumping Course before you ride it the first time. So as a game mechanic, this is perfect and necessary.
Personal taste? I like the rounded shapes of Riding Star and Petz Horsez. Horsez’s mechanic gives an additional cue for what gait to follow, which can be helpful. They were also stationary, which might prove less distracting than the moving arrows of Star Stable for some players.
ELEMENTS OR FIGURES AND A COHERENT RIDE
So, let’s talk about how they handled transitions between movements. Each of these games tended to show at least one “element” at a time. Star Stable showed one figure or element at a time, and, while the system is good, I don’t necessarily think these same figures should be used. The path should be coherent and constantly connected, instead of allowing the player to zig zag across the arena at any gait they want between figures, as that isn’t very dressage like at all.
Riding Star and Petz Horsez had figures and movements that constantly connected to one another. Riding Star used white columns of light to denote a “checkpoint” of sorts where you were going to change gaits, instead of denoting the end of a certain figure. For example, if you had been trotting on the rail, but it wanted you to canter along the rest of it and proceed to X, you would pass through a checkpoint, at which you should transition from a trot to a canter to complete the path between that checkpoint and the next at X at a canter.
Petz Horsez 2 also broke movements apart mostly by gait. The dots showed you what path to ride, and their color showed you at what gait to do so, but a gait change (or a transition to a special figure or movement, which I’ll talk more about in a moment) was typically indicated by the path ending. When you reached that point, the next series of dots appeared in whatever color corresponded to the new gait, and you would transition to that gait, and proceed.
This creates a more coherent, connected ride where you are performing a set movement across the arena at a set gait, as you would in a dressage ring. This is the kind of pattern creation a dressage system should follow.
PATTERNS, FIGURES, AND WHY SPECIAL MOVES MIGHT NOT WORK
So, what kind of patterns? Well, pretty basic stuff is all I’d need to be happy, quite honestly. Petz Horsez 2 and Riding Star have complex movements involved in them (special movements like the piaffe, for example), but have different control schemes/key mappings that would be difficult for SSO, and their horses all used the same body type, so animating those wasn’t such a problem.
So, let’s ignore the special dressage moves of Riding Star. They’re fun, but even that control scheme was a pain in the ass since it used the mouse to control your rider’s balance, rhythm, horse direction, etc., and instead focus on things in Petz Horsez 2. Some special moves of this nature were included as gait specific functions. For example, a half-pass was possible at the canter by pressing and holding 3 while in a canter. Mapping-wise, technically possible, but, again, remember the hell that’d probably be in the animation department. An American Quarter Horse and a Jorvik Starter Pony would look very different doing the same thing, and that’s a lot of models to add animations to that still fit their current animations.
So forget even that. Let’s just focus on Petz Horsez 2′s figure feature. In the game, the camera will pan across the arena to reveal a pattern you must memorize and then ride as close as possible. There’s also a feature called champion vision that you can use to see the pattern again to ride more accurately that you must build by participating in competitions, but that’s not the relevant part. I want figures like them, but not necessarily with the memorization part. I just want figures like crossing the arena through the center line, diagonally crossing the arena, circles, etc. Those kind of figures. Not a weird little reverse-looking symbol that only covers half of the arena in the Star Stable PC games. Whatever we’re doing, we should be utilizing a lot of the space available. No, I’m not calling for every circle to be the entire arena’s width, but you get what I mean.
Petz Horsez 2 also has collection and extension of gaits, but, again, that would require slightly tweaked animations, which might not be as big as creating completely new ones for completely new moves, but it’s still something I don’t find necessary for immediate inclusion. Start our character and us as players with something simple like the training and tutorial courses of Riding Star, where we just have to ride around the arena following the path at the correct gait.
INTERFACE/HEADS UP DISPLAY
So, about that. Let’s talk about the interface. What I like about Riding Star’s is that it shows the gait you should currently be performing, and what the next gait is, so you can better prepare to transition at the correct time. If you were in the correct gait, I think the display remained normal, if you weren’t, the bar would turn red, or something would, it’s been a while since I’ve played. Something like that would be beautiful, and it didn’t utilize a lot of space in the top center of the screen, so it could fit where the timer bar is, roughly, in our normal race displays. Petz Horsez 2 simply displayed the requested gait and what gait you were performing, but it had color coded path markers, so it did the same in its own way, sort of. Overall, I think the interface could easily take more so after Riding Star’s because its clean and easily organizes the information you need to perform the right gait.
I believe in one video I watched, they used the color coded path indicators of Petz Horsez 2′s style, and a flashing circle gait indicator similar to that of the Icelandic race. This could be a nice way to give another visual cue, or a different style of visual cue that still fits into the current UI style. But a constant display of current requested gait and next requested gait, I think, would be very nice, if there’s a layout the team finds that they like and doesn’t find too crowding on the screen.
SUMMARY
Start small, and start basic. Let’s start by getting a system incorporated that uses the space of the arena properly and utilizes the gaits all horses, regardless of model age, etc., have. While I’m sure the community would love to see even more including things like “special figures” and the likes, I think it’s a bit too big of a project to ask the team to take on immediately when figuring out this system, and they’re in an age where they’re just kinda coming into their own; they’ve still got a lot of areas to update to make their style match now that they’ve determined that’s the direction they want to go in, and, currently, there’s not much of an area to include a big project like this. Some basic dressage at the riding hall I think would work fine, but (and this is banking on a lot, IE Northern Jorvik, which, if you’re interested, I’ve made a whole shitpost theory about here (x)) since they’re also namedropping places like Beauvista (TLDR version of shitpost: an area in Northern Jorvik famous for dressage, one of the main areas of SS Spring Riders, a dressage based game, and namedropped by none other than Loretta at the Midsummer Festival 2018), this is something that could be introduced more widely in an area like that, or expanded upon, if they wanted to introduce something in the nearer future.
This is a system that I don’t doubt will take a lot of work and tweaking, regardless of what they decide to go with and what they feel comfortable starting on. Therefore, I don’t expect to see it anytime in the relatively near future - certainly not within the year, and maybe not even next year. Right now, the game is honestly doing a lot of other good things, and while I don’t think the Tumblr community needs that reminder as much as some other social media communities do, I think it’s still good to stop and appreciate that. We’re in a very exciting place for the game where the game is starting to come back together and to itself, getting the updating attention it deserves to really solidify its place, and come back to the story and spirit that attracted many of us to it.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Tournament SWP - Live Discord Event #3
Tournament SWP Horse Racing Competition Porter vs Remy
SETTING: With the receding tide, the field are plentiful with sheep, tall grass, and the ground is a little mucky. Obstacles have been set up throughout the field. Contestants must race their horses around the obstacles spread out throughout the entire field and finally, on the long stretch back, race at top speed to be the first to cross the finish line! But be warned! Dragos, the ancient dragon that still patrols the lands of the Athorian Region, likes to hunt in this area. And as the Athorians gather around the stands set up on the field, they can see his shadow high in the night sky. (see the Dragos location page for details)
The winner will receive FIRST PRIZE and a choice between one of three large, beautifully sculpted treasure chests, each containing a hefty amount of gold Athorian coins plus a very rare and unique item that can be used in-game. Winner will be allowed to pick from one of the King’s finest stallions. Title of Greatest Competitor in Athoria will be awarded, allowing them stays at the castle upon request during their travels, as well as sitting besides the King at the Winner’s Feast following the tournament.
hannah-
Remy enjoyed horseback riding, though more of a leisure activity rather than competitive. With access to things like portals there wasn’t much of a need for intense horseback riding. Still, she felt fairly comfortable with the idea. She had spent most of the day with the horse she was going to be ride, getting to know her and becoming accustomed. If she was going to ride her through potential dangerous situations then she wanted to know there was going to be some trust. Holding the reins of the speckled grey horse, she lead her towards the starting line. Looking around, she tried to spot her opponent, wanting to talk with him before the match officially started.
emery-
Derek stands alone on one of the many rafters that display the massive field outside of Dragos and Dragon's Laire. His arms are crossed and he is ignoring eyes that are on him, eyes that might recognize that he is the one who had lost to Porter, the next competitor, the night before. He is glad that Remy made it this far...she deserves to win.
z the :vampire:-
His arrival comes with an entourage. Several of the Congregation are rallied around him, guiding him through to the field as the Elite trots atop his vivid black stallion. The steed was a borrowed gift from the Crown; a pure bred that came from a line who had aided in the Franco Rebellion. It was intimidating, to say the least. When Porter had first tried to mount the creature, it nearly thrashed his head off. But with a little persuasion, its will buckled. Instantaneously tamed by the lingering gaze of a vampire.
He leaves the others behind to mingle with the common folk. One of them paused to warn that they had seen the great shadow of Dragos nearby, even under the night sky, blotting out the moon. And while Porter is thankful to know to be mindful, he is not naive. With a pull of the reigns, he guides the horse to the starting line and greets his opponent with a charming smirk. "Remy," he breathes, almost surprised by the looks of her. "I've never met a fae before. First time for many things this night, I'd say."
hannah-
The young fae had heard many rumors of this famous dragon that was spotted tonight. While it would be an adventure to see the creature, she hoped she could at least finish the race first. One adventure at a time would be the best for her. It wasn’t too long until Porter joined her at the starting line. Wandering over towards where he stood, she was glad to see he was a bit more friendly than her last opponent. “There are not too many of us that like to lurk around. Shy, I guess you could say. Though I can assure you I am not that. It is nice to meet you as well Porter.” She smiled. “And it is a night of many first times. But hopefully not a first time riding a horse.” Remy laughed. “Maybe the best rider win.” She said, holding out her hand to shake.
z the :vampire:-
He was thankful for her sportsmanship. For the tact she had to make smalltalk, and even present her hand to him. Of which, the vampire took with a bit of caution.  He decided that when this was all done and over with, at some point, he would need to make it a duty to find her again and pick her brain about the elusive fae. With a firm shake of cupped hands, that smirk of his blossomed into a smile. "May the best rider win."
The game master readied at the starting line with a flag and a cone to project his voice with, in either hand. The two rivals took to their horses and waited with bated breaths as he eyed the crowd, and the skies, suspectingly. "Are the riders ready?" The audience cheered, rallying on who they wanted to win, but in Porter's mind there was no doubt it would be him. His horse wasn't bred for racing, but it was bred to be strong and resilient. Something that may come in handy for knocking the girl straight off her steed.
"Go!"
KG the OG-
Ashley watches quietly, focusing her eyes before her. The girl in the competition is a curious one, one of which Ashley's grown curious with. She purses her lips.
hannah-
Remy sensed the slight hesitation at the handshake, though she was unsure if it was because she was a fae, or his competitor. Or maybe both. But, with the pleasantries done Remy made her way back towards her horse. Mounting her horse, she scanned the course in front of them. One obstacle at a time, deal with Porter, and win. That’s all that was running through her mind at that moment. Her horse was fast, strong enough but the speed was what she was looking for. She couldn’t be knocked off if she couldn’t be caught. That was the plan, and she would improvise as she needed to. She waited for the call to begin and with the signal, her horse took off. They neared the first obstacle, a simple jump. Her horse easily cleared it, and Remy took a moment to look to see where Porter was. She couldn’t afford to let him sneak up on her.
z the :vampire:-
For what his horse lacked in speed, it made up for in sheer force. The first obstacle came but two seconds after the faerie had cleared it, making ease of the simple jump as well. But all the while, the vampire that held its reigns and beat down on its back with spurs to quicken. "Faster," he growled under his breath and into the horse's ear. It was not a groan of frustration, but determination. And perhaps, even fear. There was a dragon looming above them. Hidden in the night sky. Soaring near the stars. He could smell it. This distracting, foreign stench that permeated over everything; akin to how animals might mark their territory to keep unwanted guests away with fright. And it served to keep him alert. Eyes focused forward, watching feverishly as the next obstacle arrived: two jumps over a wide, fat bushel of nightshade. Clever, and dangerous. The black stallion managed to find itself gaining on them and breeched the wild plant with finesse.
hannah-
The ever presence of a much larger creature looming was there as the race began. There was no denying that there was something else here. It pulled at her attention but still she focused on what was in front of her. Maybe this creature would find entertainment somewhere else and not with them. She was glad the horse she was riding had been seasoned with practical uses rather than just horse racing. Kept it from being so easily spooked. The next obstacle was not as easy as the first for her horse but it made it through fairly easy. Though now Porter was much much closer than she wanted him to be. Still, the wind hitting them both in the face, the roar of the crowd, even the thrill of Porter catching up was enough to entice a laugh from the fae. A competition it was but still it was fun.
z the :vampire:-
Indeed, it was fun! As they surpassed the bushel of nightshade and made their way for the next obstacle, he found himself buzzing with adrenaline from every which way it hit him. From the dragon roosting somewhere in the heavens. From the racing heart of the horse as it sped in gallop to attempt to catch up. From the fae who were just yards in front of him, as he gained on her as quick as he could! But of course, when the rushing waters of the next obstacle came, that elation he felt were swallowed back with a gulp. A bustling river that cut through the enormous field, severing it in half, was going to be a pain in the arse to get through. There was no going around it. No jumping over it, either. As the steed came to barrel down on the water, Porter knew the only way to pass it were to go straight through. So he braced himself and rallied the horse to go faster, trampling into the waves.
hannah-
Remy afforded herself a quick look behind her at Porter, to see where he was. Still way too close for her liking. It was in no way a safe distance away from her. Maybe though this next obstacle would knock him off, but not likely. Urging her horse forward, it pushed on through the water. Remy clung on tightly with the sudden change of terrain that her horse managed through. Up next was a series of weaving obstacles. “Come on!” she said, giving the horse a nudge with her feet as they began to weave through the odd obstacles ahead. The odd jump or two was tricky to manage but her horse seemed to find its stride again after the water. Almost done with the obstacles only a few ahead. Next, deal with Porter.
z the :vampire:-
He held on to the reins of his horse as tight as possible. Til his knuckles were sore and pained as the stallion forged its way through the current. At one point, the horse slid on a rock, but Porter didn't waver. He held on with a firm grip and guided it to the other side. Soaked and exhausted, the pair raced off again with all the might they could muster, panting in tandem as they came up on Remy and the next obstacle. "Go, go!" He drove his spurs in to its back, forcing the creature to move faster. The more the race went on, the more obscene the obstacles became. A weaving puzzle was next, to which his steed merely barreled itself through. Then another: low hanging branches seemingly put there purposefully. All the while, Porter gained on Remy. To a point in which, at last, they were neck and neck. "You won't win!" He called to her, smirking wildly as the air whipped around them. "Better give up!" And with the last few words being left in the dust, his stallion rammed itself into her speckled horse with the hopes of tossing her over.
hannah-
Only one more obstacle left, an easy jump then it was just a long ride back. That's all they needed to do. Her horse was fast and she just hoped she could stay out on top. But before she knew it Porter was on top of her, they were neck and neck. His words were buzzing in her ears as he rammed his horse into hers. Her horse let out a loud whinny but kept his pace. Remy struggled for a moment, slipping down on the saddle. Using her momentum, she pulled herself up. Quickly pulling her foot from the stirrup she kicked him hard, trying to push him off. "Funny I was going to tell you to give up." She said. "Now is the best time" she said clearing the last jump.
z the :vampire:-
Clever girl, that one. Porter found himself slipping from the saddle for a moment in attempt to dodge her kicks, that smirk still present on his face. The long ride back and the finishing obstacle would be a breeze. All they had to do now was either finish, or get -- What was that? From nearby, he heard a ruckus and a series of shouting. And soon enough, the audience nearest the finish line were a sea of shrill voices and blood curdling shrieks. In his effort to unhorse the faerie, he'd forgotten all about the dragon ahead of them, disguising itself in the cloudy night sky. But it hadn't remained perched in the sky after all. No... It had swooped down, a shadow overhead, breathing fire across the field and aiming itself straight for the two racers. "Duck!" Porter yelled towards Remy, the two of them nearly being decapitated as the creature dipped low above them and soared upwards for a U-turn.
"Remy!" Still, their horses galloped away, though the vampire could sense their heightened fear. "Stay on course!" Don't leave the fucking track. Another terrible roar from the beast pierced through the air as it lit up the night with another fiery breath.
hannah-
That roar almost shook the ground. Remy had been focused on the course and Porter that she had not seen the dragon make their decent. She heard Porter yell at her and she ducked down as the dragon swooped down towards them. Her heart was racing and she could see the panic in all of their eyes. Up ahead she saw the dragon turn towards them again and send a rocket of fire towards Porter. "Watch out!" She yelled. Getting closer towards Porter she was able to manipulate the fire away from him. "If we keep going, I can take care of the fire in the path. Just keep towards the finishing line." she yelled over at him. With a wave of her hand she cleared away some of the fire that blocked their pathway. She wasn't letting either of them get hurt, even in this competition.
z the :vampire:-
Fire to a vampire was a near death experience, even in the smallest amounts. While typical weapons were futile in piercing their skin, fire was a sure way to dissolve their flesh as though it were parchment. The heat tickled at his back, but due to the wit of the girl he'd considered a rival, and her compassion, it did not burn him alive. Rather, she constructed something of a shell to keep the fire at bay; manipulating it around him, around them both, so that neither would perish from its scortch.
But manipulating the fires in their path and those breathing out from the enormous beast, wouldn't be enough. The elite tried to do what she told him. Stick on route to the finish line, and she could get them both there safely. But Dragos were ancient and far more cunning. It swooped overhead like a vulture, before nosediving once more for the riders.
"Quick! Go!" It bee-lined for the pair, taking a deep inhale of its gaseous breath below the flames of hell erupted from it again. But this time, Porter's horse ceased moving as it whinnied and neighed with fear, jerking back onto its hined legs and sending the vampire barreling off of it suddenly. His back hit hard against the dried grass, bruising his skin briefly. There wasn't enough time to consider the loss that might mean for him and the tournamet, for when the vampire looked up he found Dragos just yards away with his stallion in its maw.
hannah-
Giving her horse another command, it picked up its pace as it raced towards safety.  She moved the fire away from then as they rode together. This was not a sport anymore. They were in real danger and she could not just leave someone behind because he was her competitor. They were both getting out of this. She could see the creatures circling back towards them and she did her best to keep the fire at bay. But it was then she heard the sound of Porters horse whinny before the thump of him hitting the ground. She could keep going, out of harms way and towards her win. But no. She couldn't. With a tug on the reins she turned her horse around  and dashing towards Porter. She could see the creature turn to look at Porter. He stalked forward and reeled its head back to release a barrage of flame again. Remy raced forwards, in front of Porter letting out a yell as she let a wall of wind push back the fire and even the dragon a step or two. "Jump on! Now!" She yelled, holding out her hand. The dragon would be occupied for a moment before it would be back on them.
z the :vampire:-
He honestly couldn't believe his eyes. Nor so much te girl who had come to his aid; holding back those flames with a wall of wind strong enough to sparse those fires. Was she fucking mad? Had she lost her brains back there? If it had been Porter... He wasn't even sure if he would have taken another glance back to her before securing his win. Maybe.. Maybe he would have done the same, for her, if he could have.
But alas, when she told him to jump, he did so. He lunged himself out of the way entirely, and scrambled to his feet, quick as he could. With that vampyric speed, he raced for Remy, grabbing her around the midsection, and got the two of them across the finish and as far away as possible in the matter of a blink of an eye.
He watched the field be set ablaze. Watched it cast haunting shadows in the night, and noted the audience slowly but surely returning all around them, having been frightened off from the hunting grounds of Dragos. If his lungs had worked, he would have been panting over the exhaustion. But instead, Porter looked at Remy with wide eyes and something akin of adoration. "You saved my life! You saved... my life!" Perhaps it was the adrenaline he felt dizzying his head, but he immediately brought her in for a hug. Tight and firm. "You're one hell of a faerie."
hannah-
She didn't know what overcame her. She never used her magic like that. Still she felt an overwhelming sense of power flow through her as the wind rushed out in front of her. She wondered if the people in the stands where whispering the words witch again or if they were too scared by the dragon. She was ready for the fight to continue when she felt Porter grab onto her before taking off. She held on for dear life as he speed them across the finish line. Looking back out she could see the dragon take back off towards the sky. The fight was over, for now at least. "I couldn't just leave you there!" She told him. Though he quickly pulled her into a hug, which she reciprocated. Happy the fight was over and they were safe. Though her cheek did burn a little more red at his words. "Oh, well... I try." She smiled before she was pulled away by the crowds of people cheering them both on.
