Okay so I posted my idea for a TOH human realm AU a few days ago and it is time for further elaboration [original post here]. I'm working on some art for it but it'll take some time for me to finish anything.
[CW: religious trauma and fundamentalist cult stuff]
[ty @my-geek-page-ill-rename-later and @pickledoesthetumbling for the questions]
Working title: Preacher's Kids Basic premise: Rev. Philip Wittebane is the pastor of First Church in Gravesfield, a small/historic church that is definitely not a cult (it's a cult); he raised Hunter from a young age (and Hunter is his actual nephew). Odalia Blight is a megachurch pastor/televangelist at Blessed Light Church and is raising Amity to follow in her footsteps. The teen characters go to GHS (and are slightly older).
Re: Gravesfield: In this AU, Gravesfield is somewhat different + larger than how it is in canon. The town as we know it does exist and is known colloquially as "Old Gravesfield," and First Church is located in the oldest part of town. "New Gravesfield" is, well, newer and has had a population boom in recent years. Blessed Light has about ~4,000 in-person attendants on a good weekend (a megachurch is typically defined as having at least 2,000 on a weekly basis), but is also nationally televised on Sundays and throughout the week. Gravesfield isn't a major city, but it's close enough to other towns + cities for people to commute to it for church.
Re: the Clawthornes: They are some of those who see that First Church is a cult, due to some personal history with the church. Dell and Gwendolyn have always lived in Gravesfield and are well-known and generally well-liked in the community. They're either non-religious or, like Pickle said in the comments, Christians who do not attend any church. Eda left town years ago and no one knows exactly why, though there have been plenty of salacious rumors over the years. Lilith is probably a librarian at the Gravesfield Public Library but I haven't officially decided yet.
Re: trying to beat the death cult allegations: People who don't go to First Church assume it's just a regular old stodgy church that smells kind of weird. The average Sunday sermon is just that: average. Regular fundamentalist stuff (i.e. homophobia, misogyny, purity culture). Calvinism (the basis of Puritanism) is what most evangelicals subscribe to, at least to some extent (most won't say this outright though), and so things that seem extreme to people who weren't raised around fundamentalism are relatively normal to people who were.
In terms of how Philip specifically deflects cult allegations: the illusion of choice. Basically, First Church puts on a front of community generosity, helping struggling families, providing meals for people living below the poverty line, things like that. However, all these things come with a heaping side of ~evangelism~ so you show up for free food or a 12-step support group and then BAM you're being told you're going to hell for cheating on a math test and that going to church and following Christ will save you. Not from suffering, just from hell.
Meanwhile, Blessed Light says going to church (or watching Odalia preach on TV) and following Christ and giving the church all your money will save you from suffering and from hell. Which is soooo much better (/sarc)
Cults do their best to not look like cults because people don't usually want to join A Cult. They do want community, spiritual fulfillment, certainty, routine, safety. There are differing levels of involvement--someone who just shows up and then leaves for Sunday service isn't going to think the church is a cult. Someone who shows up on Sundays and then stays for the potluck and then volunteers in the kids' ministry and then gets noticed by the pastor and gets let in on special sacred information and then only spends time with other people in the church and dedicates times and resources into the church and then scorns family members who don't believe and believe that this church's theology is the only valid theology and everyone else is going to hell and if they leave then they're going to hell too and also losing their community and routine and safety and certainty-- It doesn't usually happen all at once. They bring you in gradually, and by the time you realize what's happening, it may be too late.
I'll get into the specific inner workings of First Church in Gravesfield in a separate post at some point. It may seem like your average historical church with a slightly off-putting preacher, but strange things are happening behind the pulpit.
Taking any and all questions about this! I'm having a lot of fun brainstorming this idea :3

Hunter being taller than teen Darius is funny as hell yk it’s cause of those grimwalker genes
literal trees
Also I feel like the hagsquad were on the shorter side compared to the hexsquad Luz Amity & Willow are all average height and Hunter is a tree
Hell even Gus in the timeskip looks nearly as tall as teen Darius but maybe my eyes are tripping
As for the hags we got like Perry, Raine & Odalia being short as hell Alador is like barely average and then the Clawthorne sisters + Darius are the tall ones
Young Eda & Luz look around the same height imo so like 😭 I feel like Darius isn’t as tall as we (he wants us to think he is)
Idk man there’s something abt the young hags that make them look shorter than our current hexsquad
Help me out here y’all
Keep in mind though that Hunter and Timeskip Gus are 16, whereas the Hagsquad in Eda's flashback were most likely about 14. (And in a world where witch puberty exits that probably makes a huge difference considering how much taller Emira is to Amity)
Personally, I think Willow is meant to be short rather than average. And maybe it's just me always staring at TOH characters for drawing reference. But Eda looks SLIGHTLY taller than Luz but that could just be the hair tricking me.
Young Lilith always gave me tall vibes, idk why but in every scene she's in she just looks longer and lankier than everyone else. Dana once drew art of Eda and Lilith as kids and Lilith was freakishly tall so maybe that's intentional. Luz is DEFINITELY taller than Raine though.

SEMIFINALS - MATCH 1

Propaganda Under The Cut:
CANDACE FLYNN:
She is literally Going Through It all the time. I get that it's bratty of her to want to get her brothers busted all the time but listen. She has the most anxiety of anyone in the entire show. She's living in a world designed in such a way that she'll never achieve her goals. I'm pretty sure there have been times where she got a taste of victory but then it was undone via time travel or memory wipes. Can you imagine the frustration? Plus she definitely does care abt Phineas and Ferb despite what people say. I've binged the whole thing fairly recently, but most people only remember stuff they saw when they were kids. Not to be like, "I know more than you," but... I do. Watch Summer Belongs to You. Great episode
Her brothers annoy her, but she also worries about them, and she loves them so much, and she’s so protective of them because of that. also “though I’ve often thought of you as just a nuisance and a bother, today I can’t imagine having better little brothers!” she’s great.
she could blow all these other loser outta the water
LILITH CLAWTHORNE:
ok she and eda are literally the most precious ever and yeah they are enemies for most of season one but they make up and lilith stops trying to capture her baby sister and instead takes on part of her curse and becomes the most aroace cool aunt historian bad girl of all time

These subtitles appearing out of nowhere only to fade back into the void always manages to startle me.
Let’s see, maduros are… plantains. More specifically, sweet fried plantains.
…what’s a plantain?
Okay, so plantains are bananas, but they’re bananas you cook rather than eat raw. They are a major food staple in parts of Africa, the Caribbean islands, Central America, and northern South America. And that’s about as far into the wikipedia article I could be bothered to read, but I get the gist of it.
Anyways, look, Stringbean’s got her own little nest in the corner. That’s adorable.
ALL OF THEM!?!???
So Luz is off to the University of Wild Magic and she has chosen to study everything, because Luz is nothing if not a true renaissance man. Among her majors are Ancient Glyphs and Combos. A mostly theoretical field nowadays, but I suppose there could be value in it to understand the fundamentals of magic. Though now that Philip is gone, wouldn’t that make Luz the Boiling Isles foremost expert on glyphs? I dunno, maybe some scholars studied the Philip’s notes from the echo mouse Musse.
Next on the list is Boiling Isles History. Personally, if you wanna learn about history but don’t have the time/money/energy to go to university, I’d recommend you pick up the Boiling Isles History box set available at the Bonesborough Supernatural History Museum. It’s written by Lilith Clawthorne and some of her colleagues and when I say it’s comprehensive, I mean it. When I say it’s a box set, I mean an actual box, with like… I think there were at least fifteen books? And those are thick volumes. So bring a friend to help you carry it, cause you’ll need it.That’s where I get a lot of my knowledge on the Demon Realm from. Some supplementary material include Flora D’Splora’s two most recent books, Hidden History: The Things the Emperor Did Not Want You to Know, and Hidden History volume II: The Things You Don’t Want to Know About Your Past.
As for Boiling Biology, Luz actually has a bit of a head start, because King used to teach her about demons back in season one. And he’s like a god in training, so aside from overestimating the size of the Snaggleback, he’s gotta be right.
…I’ve no idea what ”theumaturgy” means. Google brings up”thaumaturgy” which is ”the purported capability of a magician to work magic or other paranormal events or a saint to perform miracles.” If that’s what that’s supposed to mean, then again, Luz has got a pretty decent head start, seeing as she literally is a saint (or at least was for a few minutes while she had The Titan’s powers).
Abomination Engineering seems fairly straightforward, that’s what Alador does. Who knows, with Blight Industries going belly-up, maybe he took up teaching? I could see him pulling-off a absent minded professor archetype.
Curses 101 should be interesting, and that reminds me: do we ever see another example of a curse in the series aside from the Owlbeast curse? I can’t recall. But then again, the impression I got was always that the Owlbeast curse was unusual, so it’s entirely possible that curses are fairly common, but also fairly easy to deal with most of the time so long as you can get a healer to cure it.
Moving on, we’ve got Luz’ new look to look at. She’s got that snazzy jacket with a snake pattern, pants with what looks like symbols for different magical subjects (I spot bard magic, potion magic, and what might be beast keeping?). She’s got that necklace which… feels familiar, hold on… oh yeah, that’s Amity’s necklace.
Also, that’s definitely a tattoo on Luz’ arm, but I can’t make out what it is just yet. Let’s see… according to what I was able to dig up real quickly, a child under the age of 18 can get a tattoo in Connecticut with parental permission. So Luz is not necessarily 18 here. Because there’s also the possibility she got it in the Demon Realm which might have different (or no) laws.
THERE SHE IS MY SNAKE DAUGHTER!!! OH look at her she’s all grown up! She’s got long hair now and her ears are out, she’s got an earring and a nose ring. And I’m gonna go ahead and say that’s Masha’s influence. You can’t prove me wrong. That shirt is really cool too.
More importantly, she’s whispering to Owlbert, telling him to go get the others. A big surprise party for Luz, I presume.
Looking at the background, we find a photo of playing baseball, getting hugged by a teammate. I love seeing my precious daughter thriving.
There’s also a picture of Stringbean having eaten through an apple, which is kinda funny to me, because Stringbean is a serpent, and the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden is often depicted as an apple. I had a whole bit about that story in my post on snake symbolism and how it related to Luz.
(we’re just gonna pretend that owlbert’s wing is not there)
Ooh, they really fixed this place up something nice! It’s got a nice stone path, a bird bath, flowers, a rocking chair, a bunch of birds, bird houses, a light strand, one singular lit candle, and at least four garden gnomes.
It also has that Steven Universe-looking door. Seriously, I’m half expecting Steven and the Crystal Gems to come walking out of it. And really, Steven visiting Gravesfield? That would never happen! Certainly not in any fanfics I’ve written.
But nah, that’s gotta be the new portal door. It looks snazzy.
And they bought this place too. Makes me wonder where Camila got the funds for that… it’s almost like [DATA EXPUNGED; contained spoilers for yesterday’s lie, today’s truth, tomorrows promise]
Through the portal, the voice of The Collector greets us and credits begin to appear.
Undeterred by the credits in the sky, Willow is flying around, looks like she just came from a match or training for flyer derby. She’s got the Emerald Entrails logo, so I guess the team took off. Good for her. Oh, and she’s got new glasses, and a little plant headband thing.

Hi, fellas! 👋
Here comes a TOH "Lost But Now Found" AU/Hazbin Hotel crossover drabble where Colli meets the Vees. Well, they take him hostage. Especially Hunter and Alastor aren't amused. Let's go!
Drabble: The Starboy And The TV Man
It was a quiet day in Hell as Colli and Hunter took a stroll through Pentagram City. The small starboy with otherwordly fluffy lavender hair and a heart of gold was floating next to the young Grimwalker's.
Hunter held protectively Colli's tiny hand. As the most inseparable pair of brothers passed some TVs, they suddenly turned on and a man was standing in front of them. The man had a TV for a head.
Before Colli could greet him, the TV Demon, Vox, hypnotized him and Hunter. As the kindhearted eternal little boy and the blonde teenager fell unconcious, Colli was taken by a four-armed moth demon, who was with Vox.
As Hunter woke up, he was alarmed as his little brother was missing. He immediately rushed back to the Hazbin Hotel to inform the others. To say that Alastor was angry would be a massive understatement!
"VOX KIDNAPPED COLLI???!!! I'M GOING TO SHRED THIS FUCKER DOWN TO HIS LAST ATOM!!!!" The Radio Demon's radio-esque voice became a bit static as his antlers were growing. His red sclera became black.
"You know this TV man?" Hunter asked. "He does, Hunter. Alastor and Vox definitely hate each other. Even though, Vox seems to be a bit obsessed with my boyfriend." Charlie chimed in and took Alastor's hand to calm him down.
.
.
.
Meanwhile, Colli woke up in the Vee Tower. He was on a couch. "So, you are finally awake. I don't know why Vox and Valentino brought you here. By the way, my name is Velvette. Who are you?" A woman asked.
"My name is Colli, Ma'am. Colli Clawthorne-Noceda-Deamonne-Whispers. Where am I?" Colli had a slightly scared expression on his adorable multi-colored face. "You are in the Vee Tower, kid." Vox said as he entered the room.
"It's you! The TV man!" Colli said. "My name is Vox. The reason why you're here? Well, I want to take revenge on my enemy Alastor. I found out that he cares a lot about you, so I'm going to kill you right before his eyes!"
Velvette couldn't believe her ears. "Vox, that's a child!" "Yes, a child from another dimension, Velvette. He isn't a Sinner, which means that I can kill him." "Actually" Colli chimed in, "I'm immortal. Nothing can kill me."
This fact surprised the Vees. "But I still can hurt you!" Valentino shot Colli's head, right between his eyes. The bullet fell out of Colli's head and the injury began to heal up. The celestial boy's dark blue blood was another surprise for the Vees.
"Ouch! That was so mean, Mr. Moth!" Colli teared up. Velvette couldn't deny that she felt sympathy for him. "Valentino, I demand that you apologize to him! This boy hasn't done anything wrong!"
Even Vox began to feel sorry. The TV Demon put his hand on the blue side of Colli's face. "What have I done?" He whispered as he pulled Colli into a tight embrace. This kid didn't deserve anything bad! He decided to release him.
.
.
.
At the same time, Alastor was wrecking havoc in Pentagram City as he was looking for Colli. The Radio Demon had his gigantic form. Hunter was sitting on his shoulder. "COME OUT AND FACE ME, VOX!!!!!" Alastor's rage was massive.
"Alastor, please stop!" The deer demon and the former Golden Guard turned around. "COLLI!" Both said in unison. Colli was floating down and used his magic to fix the damage Alastor had caused.
Hunter didn't hesitate to jump off Alastor's shoulder to tackle his beloved little brother into a warm embrace. "I was worried sick about you, my beautiful little Sunshine!" Hunter showered Colli with lots of soft and loving brotherly kisses and cuddled him close.
Alastor calmed down upon seeing Colli and turned back to normal. "Dear Boy, did he hurt you?" Alastor asked surprisingly softly as he noticed a drop of Colli's already dried dark blue blood. "Vox didn't hurt me. But Mr. Moth shot me. Good thing that I'm immortal."
Alastor knew who this Mr. Moth was. The tiny starboy was talking about Valentino. As Hunter heard that Colli got hurt, the blonde boy tightened the embrace. How dared anyone to hurt his greatest treasure?!
Alastor swore to kick Valentino's ass when he saw him again.
.
.
.
Back at the Hotel, Colli was pulled into a big group hug. Charlie, Alastor, Angel, Husk, Vaggie, Pentious and Niffty were glad that their new favorite boy was safe. They were ready to protect him at any cost!
.
.
.
"Val, I still can't believe that you shot a little boy! What were you thinking?!" Velvette's glare scared Vox, who also was about to get scolded by her. "And you!" Velvette turned to Vox. "Do you really think that it was a good idea to bring Alastor's loved one here?!" The woman did a face palm. Vox just laughed awkwardly.

[yes, i am aware this is a weird rambling, please let me vent]
One toh-related fear is that the writers will eventually reveal that the story with Hunter and previous Golden Guard was only given to Darius after the shortening, and initially Hunter's story was connected solely to the Clawthornes (and i feel like it is fairly likely if season 2-3a structure was significantly different before shortening; especially since the writers did say there was a plan for Hunter to stay in the Owl House, and there were hints that their connections would be important like the way he did his 'Bye' thing in the same episode Eda did it, the connection between Dell's palisman and Flapjack&Waffles etc. Afterall if they could reuse Lilith's outfit concept design for Darius, why not shove an unused storyline at him too).
And i admit that it might have been neater plot-wise, and i also admit that my dislike of it is mainly because of the fandom's reaction towards Darius. Because the fandom can't be normal about Darius, whether he is demonized or treated as a prop that dispenses comfort. So if he wasn't meant to be involved in Hunter's development, then it is almost certain that the fandom would turn on him with even more vindictiveness or dismiss his character all together. It wouldn't surprise me if even Camila would be dropped as a parental figure for Hunter because of the racist fanon hierarchy. Fandom at large would not care about Darius's and Hunter's development that was actually shown in the aired episodes (i mean people are already viciously denying that Hunter was happy to see Darius in s3), even when other changes that happened because of the shortening are accepted as absolute canon. Fandom at large would not think how that sudden change in the plot could have affected the way Darius was written in ASiAS either.
And almost certainly most of the fandom would not care about the story that Darius might have had initially, pre-shortening: because if you believe Dana's words that he was always meant to be a good guy, then he might have had an interesting - but different - story before the changes, maybe even with more focus on just his own character. But it won't matter for the Hunter-focused fandom. And being Darius's fan would become even more unbearable. (Also, yes, i just don't want to see vindicated all those Lilith fans who have been whining from the very beginning how the previous GG should have been her mentor instead of Darius', and how she should have had the plot with Hunter)
But then I also don't really like what it would mean for Eda and Lilith and the Owl House dynamics. I don't like that it would turn Hunter into an even more central and important character and firmly place him into the Owl family, and in fandom's eyes that would definitely mean replacing King. Meanwhile, considering the way s2a was written, it is not even guaranteed that Willow and Gus would have had more screentime without the shortening or that they would have been allowed to have more development with Luz, Eda and King (even though with all of them they had dynamics in s1). So it would just make the character focus even more uneven.
And i understand that the current Clawthornes are far enough removed from Evelyn that you might say that Hunter being taken in by them is more like a found family than biolgical family, and would be more of a story about reconnecting with one's heritage, but still. It would feed right into "Eda is everyone's mom!" fanon that i really dislike. Yes, she adopted King, and she has found family dynamic with Luz, but, imo, that's enough. I think her journey to opening up and building community and mentoring children who are not related to her is way is more important and interesting (even if i don't like that Edric was prioritized over, for example, Gus; and i still have mixed feeling over her opening her own school). Even her mentoring Hunter would have been interesting if it had grown from the Eclipse Lake interactions rather than her basically adopting him. And if not Eda then Lilith would have had to become parental towards him - and i really don't like that either. Fanworks set in AUs are one thing, but it's nice that at least one woman in the cast doesn't want to be a mother, and that is shown to be ok. She can be a weird aunt, and maybe even a mentor again for Amity. Oh, you might say, but why do you think that she or Eda would have to be Hunter's parent if they had a plot together, when she can just be an aunt/mentor for him too? Well, this is my weird rant, but also why him over Luz, Amity and King? I just don't think that even with full 3 seasons the show would have had time to explore the characters evenly and Hunter would have been over-prioritized.
Though, i admit, one idea that i like is that after the HM Hunter might have stayed in the Owl House while Luz would have somehow end up with the rebels and had an episode or several with them (since her meeting with Raine was meant to be a bigger thing initially). That would have been nice (and i am going to put it in a separate post so you don't need to reblog it together with this)
#toh rant#darius deamonne#toh darius#not tagging the others because their fans probably would prefer the version i am ranting about and this is my weirdo rant time#toh speculation#long post

another inspiration board, this time for Lilith! suggested by @dujour13 (thank you for the suggestion!) this was a very fun one, as Lilith is definitely one of my favorite character archetypes!
Yennefer of Vengerberg - The Witcher
"Forget the bottle. Let your chaos explode."
So first of all, I've never played the games (yeah yeah i know). But I love Yennefer in the show, and a lot of her traits she shares with Lilith- her pride, her sharp tongue, her raw power, her refusal to be ignored. The actress's mannerisms especially are a lot like how I imagine Lilith, she's got a kind of stubborn dignity that I really love.
Madeline Usher - The Fall of the House of the Usher
"There's no such thing as a step back. You go forward. And if you hit a brick wall, you don't go back, you go through."
Obviously Madeline wasn't an original inspiration as the show just came out last month, but she and Lilith have *so* much in common. Ambitious and lethal and manipulative and ruthless and absolutely unapologetic about all of it. I gotta stop now or i'll keep rambling about Madeline forever she was so perfect in this show
Athena - Greek Mythology
The goddess of wisdom and warcraft, which are definitely domains that Lilith would respect
Lilith Clawthorne - The Owl House
"Maybe you are stronger than me, but that made me work smarter. I became sharp, crafty!"
Another Lilith! My Lilith is most like Lilith C in her early appearances, when she's still acting as the second in command to the Big Bad. She's found herself on the wrong side of a tyrannical regime, but stays loyal because she has a weird relationship with authority because it serves her own ends. It matches up well with My Lilith's own backstory and complicated loyalties, though My Lilith doesn't get quite the same character development.
Azula - Avatar: The Last Airbender
"Don't flatter yourself. You were never even a player."
Speaking of backstory! Those running themes are very present with Azula, and a lot of Lilith's backstory mirrors her- a young prodigy, smart and ruthless even at a young age, with a deep need to prove herself spurred on by the cutthroat environment she was raised in.
Plus, I had to include at least one character with a fire motif!
Miranda Lawson - Mass Effect
"I settle for nothing but the best."
Miranda has a lot in common with other characters here- a drive for perfection, ambition, ruthlessness, a complicated dynamic with the stories villains- but her main reason for being on here is actually her relationship with her sister. She wants to protect her sister, and she obviously loves her...but she tries to do it from a distance, because she doesn't believe she'd actually be a good influence in her life.
Somehow, Lilith ends up with similar people in her life- Sirin in Tyranny, and Ember in Pathfinder. She has no idea how to care about people in a genuine way, but she does want to protect them, and maybe even give them a better life than she had.
(their main difference is that in Miranda's place, Lilith would have killed TIM and take over as head of Cerberus. sorry, universe!)
#i might be exposing myself here but of course lilith is inspired by women who vary from morally questionable to full evil#most of whom i've had a crush on at some point#ch: lilith#character inspiration

Goldenlight week 2023: 💜💛 Bonus any au: Manny meets Hunter.
Manny Noceda was a huge nerd. Probably why he became a conservator for historical artifacts. With his love of star trek, history, and the supernatural. It's also why he loved moving his family for Gravesfield Connecticut(other than for their hospitals great and successful treatments thank god). 'This town was just filled with so much hidden history' Manny thought as he looked through documents about the two oldest families in Gravesfield. The Wittebanes and Clawthornes.
"C'mon Hunter! I want to show you upstairs!"Giggles his daughters voice. He sees a flash of his daughter and a pale blonde white boy dash past his door. Both of them holding hands.
Actually there was one thing he didn't like about Gravesfield.
"Luz! Come in here for a moment please." Manny watches the door to his office, he hears whispering, a familiar one and unknown male voice. Even from in his office the boy sounds nervous(good). Luz finally tiptoes into the room. Big brown eyes looking bashful and bambi like. But Manny has rasied the owner of said eyes. He's ammuned to them(most of the time).
Manny takes of his glasses and stares at his daughter, "Mija, who is that with you?"
Luz has her hands behind her back, runs her sock foot across the carpet nervously. Finally she looks in the eyes. "His name is Hunter Papá, he just moved across the street. He's my new friend."
Manny remembers now, a Uncle and his nephew. "I'd like to meet him."
Luz pouts at this, but agrees. "Ok but you have to promise to be nice, Hunter's kind of shy." There's an offended squawk by the door they both ignore.
"I'm always nice," Manny smiles with humor. Luz frowns, dead serious now. "I mean it Papá. Hunter's really important to me."
Manny sits up at his daughter tone, than sighs. "All right, bring him in. Let's meet this Hunter." Luz smiles and turns to the door. Hunter is already in the door way. Walking up cautiously to Manny's desk. Fully looking at him now. He's tall, not as tall as him, but definitely taller than Luz. Like a weed. Pale white and covered in scars. The scars give him pause. Fatherly worry, but listens to Luz about his being shy. The one thing that makes him smile though is the star trek shirt the kid is wearing. 'At least the boy has taste', thinks Manny. What really makes him stare is the eyes. A golden brown just like Luz.
The boy holds out him hand,"My names Hunter, Hunter Wittebane." The last name makes him pause, and desperately curious. But he gives the boy his hand to shake. He can feel scars on the palm of his hand too. But his hand is firm strong. Manny fully smiles at Hunter. "Hello Hunter, I'm Manny Noceda, Luz father."
Hunter smiles at this, a gap tooth smile"Luz talks about you a lot. She says you work with my Uncle at the museum. It's very nice to finally meet you."
'Boy has manners at least', Manny relaxes a bit. "It's nice to meet you too."
From behind them Luz watches on, for some reason crying. Happy that they could finally meet. That's when Luz wakes up.
**********
Luz wakes up from the sweet dream with tears in her eyes, but a wobbly smile on her face. She's laying on Hunter's chest. The both of them naked under the blankets. Luz is 18, Hunter is 20. He has one arm wrapped around her, the other running his fingers down her spine. He starts in worry, as he feels the tears hit his chest and hear her sniffling.
"Hey, what's wrong Luz?" Hunter asks distressed by her tears. He turns them on their side bringing her face closer to his.
"Nothing, I just had a really nice dream. A dream about you meeting someone really important to me." Luz smiles at Hunter through her tears. Than she hug him like her life depends on it. She hides her tear stained face into his neck. More tears drip down.
"Than why are you crying?"
"Because I wish you could have really met him. He would have liked you." Luz wetly gasps out.
Hunter runs fingers through her hair, kissing her curles in comfort.
"I would have liked to have met him too. He must have been really important."

It occurs to me that I might be in denial about the owl house being over and am coping by disappearing into my head and imagining a spin off.
it also occurs to me that Eda and Darius would definitely be little shits together.
like ok. Mayhaps when Raine enters the scene, they’re the cool new kid who everyone wants to get to know. they’re known for being the best witch in sainteps and they’re a total cutie patootie. seriously kicks butt and they’re a bard (crazy right?).
Raine establishes very very quickly that they, Eda, and Lily (by proxy) are package deals. most of the student body had no problems with them anyways so that’s fine with them. Odalia tho I can see as a big snob but would follow suit if it gets her next to power. I can see her wrapping her arms around Lilith and Eda saying that they’re gonna be the best of friends and Eda sarcastically going “hooray…”
Darius and the clawthornes hit it off really well. He’s kind of like how Amity was with her old hang out friends and just slowly but surely integrates himself with them and away from Odalia and Alador.
Eda would say “dude, if you feel like garbage around your so called ‘friends’ then they’re not your friends” “but it wasn’t always like this” “so what? now it is. people change, deal with it!”
so he puts his foot down and actually starts to distance himself from Alador and Odalia even though they were his best and closest friends.
Of course we know how this all ends though.
I imagine it’d be Darius who convinces Raine to join a coven. He’d see how miserable they were and told them to get out before they start to resent the relationship. He knows how much they love her; which is why this would’ve been the best course of action. He doesn’t wanna see another relationship destroyed just because one felt like they couldn’t be without the other— no matter how bad it was getting. Sometimes being alone is better than letting a good thing tear itself down.
I imagine that it would end with Eda fixing up the Owl House; Raine and Darius moving in together; Lilith’s coven initiation; and Alador and Odalia getting married. The wedding is a full house, but at the very front are four empty chairs. Two next to Alador, where the best man should be and groomsperson should be; and then two next to Odalia, where the bridesmaids should’ve been.
I meant for this to talk about Darius and Eda hanging out but now I just made myself sad again goshdangit

Emira being questioned about
THE HISTORY OF THE BOILING ISLES.
*Oh, Titan. She thinks..

Em has been put in a difficult position.
She has never been had too much enthusiasm for history lessons, so has missed out on the occasional lessons.
Her actual knowledge of Boiling Isles history is patchy, it hadn't seemed important! *
"So, according my history lessons, It's now been 50 years since the Empire was formed, and life on the Isles stabilised, after the Savage Times.
So, I think that there's not been too many changes since that time, really.
The Emperor has kept things pretty much under his control, rounding up any wild witches that the Coven Scouts discover.
Though someone that you may know, Edalyn Clawthorne, known by most as The Owl Lady, is famous for evading capture.
There was a sort of low key rebellion against the Emperor, and quite a lot of 'illegal' practices were, and still are, carried on quietly.
When Kids come of age, they are still expected to join a Coven, and so are then restricted to the one track."
* She paused, thinking...*
"I'd reckon that the most changes really only started when a human, Luz, appeared with Edalyn.

Because of her influence, Hexside School started allowing students to study more than one track, and the school has quietly become, some think, a part of the 'resistance' against the Emperor.
There's definitely a lot going on right now."
* She paused, thinking about all the family upheaval...*

"But it's mainly not something that is being openly discussed.
This Luz, the Human, has often been involved when something happens lately.
And the rumors have been spreading that The Day Of Unity, when, so the Emperor has said, a paradise, uniting the Realms in peace and prosperity, is in fact nothing of the sort. But in fact something to fear.
To be honest, I'm worried about whatever is happening right now."
* She takes a deep breath, that had /not/ been easy~*

(Originally written before The Day Of Unity..."Kings Tide")

if you could pick a character from any media you had watched this year to come and live with you (or you go and live in their world) who would've been?
Ooooh that's a good question! I watched quite a few good things this year and the funny thing is how this question made me realise that I wouldn't enjoy having most of my favourite blorbos in my house for a prolonged time. Only one remains:
Lilith Clawthorne from The Owl House. Autistic aroace queen with attention to detail, likes orderly approaches to things and I dig that. It'll be a nice household and though I'm not into history in general, I think Boiling Isles history and craftsmanship from the past are very much things I could equally enjoy. We'd definitely have some good things to nerd over and I love her way of enjoying things. I also think we have a similar ratio for staying at home and going outside for adventure, and I think we'd enjoy similar types of gatherings with people. Probably only one or two trusted guests at the house here and there. I dig that I get Hooty as an adjacent bestie, I too love that guy. She's got a good serious/silly ratio as well.
I'd like to go live there instead of here, obviously. Magic! And they've got a pretty darn lovely society.

harvest, fireside, and spice for the ask game! (Also I love the name of your ask box, it’s so cute !!)
harvest - what fictional character do you most identify with? Why?
ohhhh this is a hard one bc there’s so many!! My go-to is typically Lilith Clawthorne from the owl house:

sighhh… she’s so me fr. I think I relate to her a lot bc she is:
The oldest child
we look a little similar (especially kid her, not pictured here)
she’s confirmed aroace (!!!), I’m definitely aspec 💥 (questioning ;—;)
cursed her younger sister because her younger sister was smarter than her (a move I would pull)
loves history
punched the villain in the nose when she traveled back in time and he still has the scar from it breaking 300 years later (a move I would also pull)
we have many similarities you see, and so she is me 💛
fireside - if you had your dream wardrobe, what would it look like?
oh ho ho time to pull out the Pinterest board I see

I really like 50’s-70’s fashion so I’d go for something along those lines.. All the skirts here are pretty short, so maybe a couple longer skirts w/tight vests, maybe with gauzy shirts with puffy/balloon/flare sleeves? I also LOVEEE platforms and flare jeans especially if they’re funky. I’m going to be very honest: my fashion game was changed the day after I read anne of greenville by Mariko Tamaki. It’s a FANTASTIC book and the main character is really into 70s stuff as well!! Changed my brain chemistry fundamentally.
spice - have you ever encountered a house that you believed to be haunted?
OMG so my friend when i was a little 4th and 5th grader liked to scare herself ok? She would tell spooky stories ALL THE TIME!! There was a bunch of stuff with closets I think? And stuff with creepy dolls.. toys that “moved on their own”.. We were scared of the basement for no reason and 3 am was a horror zone we wouldn’t dare to stay up past. Since then I don’t think I’ve been in a house I think is haunted for a while. Fun for 9-10 year old me though lol

is this anything
explanations under the cut
so for this sorta graph it's about rep that is intended as queer so queercoding doesn't count
word of god counts for the purposes of this graph, even retroactively. however retroactively calling your character gay when it has no impact, and then doing nothing in the future to act on it is Bad. so that's why dumbledore here is my first thought when it comes to confirmed, but bad, representation. not like homophobic rep but as in like despite being declared canonically gay it literally doesn't matter because it is not at all relevant to the narrative or good or impactful. plus rowling is a transphobic shitbag anyways but even beyond this it's just not good
the other bad example is FAR worse but not even called queer explicitly--in fact the source media REFUSES to call this character queer, and that's jame gumb ("buffalo bill") from silence of the lambs. despite the insistence that he's not a "real" transgender person, you can still TELL what they're going for. like. come on. we are not fucking stupid. the Implication is there and it's Bad
word of god isn't all bad which is why I put lilith clawthorne in the graph because despite the owl house never outright calling her aromantic asexual she's still good aroace rep (speaking as an aromantic greysexual person). the show was clearly written with it in mind, it fits her character, and even if it wasn't intended at first (which I believe it was) she's confirmed aroace and that's ok confirming it outside the show for me, because it's a lot more natural to SHOW a character being possibly queer and you don't always have to have a character stop and look at the camera and go "I am this". raine whispers is also a good example because they're clearly nonbinary even if not outright said, but I wanted to include lilith as a good example of when word of god can be used right, to just confirm what was apparent but couldn't be naturally stated within the source media
ford pines is interesting and what got me thinking about this. like normally I would not include him because even though he's queercoded as hell in the OG show he was not intended to be. but after the book of bill he most definitely is. and just to be clear no this is not my billford propaganda this is not me calling it the best ship ever before anyone gets their suspenders twist-tied, but ford clearly does have a deliberate implied narrative of being a possibly queer man who reaches acceptance by letting his family in and be accepted for his oddities not just as a person but also within his life choices and mistakes and growing from abuse in an atypical relationship he worried would cast him out if he was honest about it. it's a very new implication, but it's DEFINITELY deliberate and leaned into now. I love it a lot actually. and alex hirsch isn't gonna outright state ford's sexuality and leave it up to the viewer but I kinda like it that way. like confirmed rep is good, but I feel like it's also good to have rep that is also apparent without being outright stated. hence this spectrum. it's just overall well done and I like it. and I made this graph cause I found it funny that he's a better example of queer rep while implied meanwhile there is far worse confirmed rep.
thank you for coming to my ted talk
thinking about like making characters queer after their primary source media has ended. axis that's like "good representation/bad representation" and "outright canonically confirmed outside the main source media" whether that's word of god or just extra supplementary stuff and "not actually stated as canon but heavily implied"
what I'm saying is dumbledor is in the outright confirmed/bad quadrant and ford pines is in the heavily implied/good quadrant
if anyone wants to give other examples to fill the bad/implied and good/confirmed quadrants give me some. I was thinking of lilith clawthorne for good/confirmed cause she's confirmed aroace outside of the show and pretty good rep but I can't think of bad/implied so help me out y'all
#gravity falls#the owl house#ford pines#lilith clawthorne#silence of the lambs#jame gumb#harry potter#dumbledore#eugh. I feel gross for tagging anything hp related on my blog but I want this post to be filterable for anyone who needs it

Hunter and Colli will play Bingo, knit, bake cookies, take Zumba classes, etc.
Greetings, my dear @importantnightwerewolf! 😘
Thanks for the request!
Drabble: Eventful Day For The Most Inseparable Pair Of Brothers
"Bingo!" Colli had a bright smile on his adorable multi-colored face as he played bingo with his beloved big brother Hunter. The young Grimwalker and the small starboy with otherwordly fluffy lavender hair and a heart of gold planned to do more things together, though.
.
.
.
Hunter's magenta eyes were filled to the brim with an endless amount of love and adoration as he was knitting a scarf for his beloved little brother Colli. Colli was knitting his precious big brother a very nice and comfy sweater.
.
.
.
Colli was floating through the kitchen of the Owl House to gather ingredients for cookies. Hunter glanced affectionately at him as he began to hum a happy tune. The kindhearted eternal little boy's singing voice was absolutely angelic! Soon, the cookies were ready to be served. Colli and Hunter shared the sweet treat, of course.
.
.
.
Later that day, the most inseparable pair of brothers took a Zumba class in Gravesfield. The former Golden Guard with silky blonde hair had just as much as fun as the immortal celestial boy. The Clawthorne-Noceda-Deamonne-Whispers brothers definitely had a very eventful day.
The End

So, I have a theory that at the end of Thanks to Them when Hunter absorbed Flapjack (that’s the best word I can think of but you get it) he also gained Flapjack’s powers and to use them he turns into a similar form to Harpy Eda I thought that would be cool but what’s your opinion?
yeahhh, it's a popular theory and i'm 👁👁 !
tbh i feel like what is CERTAIN is that flapjack is a part of hunter now and we're definitely... gonna see more of him, in some form. i can imagine that he's a part of hunter's mindscape (similarly to how palismen consumed by belos were a part of his mindscape, except in this case flapjack willingly sacrificed himself; so i imagine his experience would be pleasant: being able to exist in his favorite boy's mind knowing this sacrifice saved his life, as opposed to being tormented by having your soul trapped in your killer's head... oof), especially when we take this crew member's ig post into consideration:
"For Flapjack... See you in our memories." AND IT'S?????? a mystical-looking forest, flapjack's (empty) staff stick, and (hunter's?) hooty mask? okay...... OKAY. i see what you're doing....
flapjack being a part of hunter's mindscape is also a way for us to get an actual look into the past, cuz we still haven't seen what happened between caleb, philip and evelyn directly (we have an idea thanks to, for example, all the hollow mind paintings, but what they showed us in the last episode and how they showed it to us makes me think they're definitely setting it up to fully reveal what happened sometime in the next episodes). so i think hunter is going to get a look into flapjack's memories, since they're literally connected now, and he's gonna see what exactly happened with caleb, philip and evelyn (that's how he's gonna find out clawthornes are descendants of caleb as well), from flapjack's pov. (hoping that if we enter his mindscape, then we also get some more direct look into hunter's past and some of his pre-canon memories 🕯🕯🕯 but like, we're definitely seeing some of flapjack's imo, that's for sure)
so.. tbh what i wonder is..... what's next.
we do know that grief is one of the main themes of season 3 (or, even the owl house as a whole). we're shown different ways grief can manifest and diff ways it can be approached.... luz, camila, darius, flapjack, even belos in a way..... hm. and now hunter.
luz and camila lost manny and we see it's affected them a LOT. we see this grief throughout luz's character journey, throughout camila's too. we see how painful this loss was... but they've also dealt with it in a rather healthy way. they carried on and got better, and even though they're forever going to miss him, they went on with their lives and adapted to that loss. and luz got azura from her dad and read it thanks to him, and now part of this big special interest of her also comes from and reminds her of her dad's love. and it's sooo so 🤲
we see that darius cared abt and respected his mentor a lot, to the point where he thought hunter wasn't worthy to be the next golden guard and was taking that feeling out on him, thinking he didn't deserve to inherit such title after his mentor had died. (hoping we see them talk abt the mentor and other golden guards in the next eps tbh cuz.... come on, they have a lot to talk abt still.)
belos.......... it's hard to call it a typical grief but it IS in some way, maybe has even been since the moment he saw caleb with that witch, cuz that's when he died in his eyes. this grief manifested into almost an obsession, where he keeps re-making caleb over and over, obsessed with the idea of them being witch hunters together, wanting to make a version of his brother that wouldn't "betray" him even though that's sth that is always always ALWAYS going to happen, it's inevitable. refusing to let it go and spiraling more and more... HM.
and now there's.......... hunter. hunter who already went through so so much, and who just lost his best friend, someone he loved the most. hunter who definitely feels guilty, but he also knows it was BELOS' doing, and he wants belos to pay for what he's done. hunter who.. was finally FINALLY happy, yet had all of his happiness taken away just like that. hunter who knows flapjack sacrificed his own life so that HE can live, and that he's forever going to be with him; his palisman soul.. but also the memories they made together. hunter who's clearly so so shattered, but trying not to focus on that pain he's feeling, cuz then he'd completely break. hunter who's angry at belos, who isn't going to rest until he gets some justice for flap. hunter who's going to have to go through this grief and loss... just.
there are so many ways his grief can be approached. especially comparing it to other characters' ways of dealing with grief, especially belos'..... showing how unhealthy holding on to sth we've lost might be.. showing acceptance of loss, a healthy way of letting go... showing that even if someone is gone, they're still going to be with us forever.... showing the anger and the feeling of unfairness that often accompany the feeling of grief.......... hm.
so i feel..... there are a few things that can happen.
the probably saddest but realistic scenario is that... hunter gets to have a final goodbye with flapjack. he gets to talk to him, gets to find out what he's been hiding from him, he gets to experience flapjack's love again and build a happy last memory for the future. and then.. flapjack is gone. and it's sad as HELL.. but promising for the future, cuz then hunter can healthily move on with his life. he can keep on, feeling less guilty, less heart-broken, with a happy last flapjack memory to accompany him. it's.... extremely sad, but when it comes to losing someone..... having that chance, to say goodbye, to have your last memory with a person you love be a happy, full-filling one, it can do wonders for grief. it doesn't make the loss hurt any less ofc but..... it makes you feel like you can go on, like there's no "unfinished business" weighing down on your heart.
the other still rather sad scenario is that yes, they do talk, etc. etc. but flapjack DOES stay with hunter forever, as a part of him. i'd say it's bittersweet, cuz then flapjack IS alive, in a way, he's not gone, he's forever able to communicate with hunter, he remains by his side til the very end.
sth abt flapjack having been alive for hundreds of years, all alone, but then finally finding a new person to love, and deciding to sacrifice his own life in order to save that person, deciding to stay with that person forever. it's so— OUHHGHHGGG. there's this bittersweetness here cuz then hunter doesn't lose flapjack, not completely. but he's still..... gone in a form that hunter would prefer. flapjack's with him but they can no longer fly together. he's never gonna tuck hunter in after he falls asleep reading a book in the middle of the night anymore. he's not going to tug on his hairstrand or annoy him (cutely). he's never going to race with other birds or catch an early rattle-worm anymore, he's never gonna sing in the morning. and it's SAD, it's extremely sad and tragic and.. sad. but he's with him, so it's also sweet. and it works as (a bit more literal but..) a metaphor of "even when you lose someone, they can live on in your heart, and in your memories". but... ouch.
there's also the theory that hunter may find a way to carve flapjack back, since he has his soul inside of him (and maybe it's "extractable" somehow??), has expressed the want to learn how to carve palismen, and eda does have that palistrom seed, and he might have to talk with clawthornes anyway (since he is gonna find out they're.. kinda sorta related, and i feel like the clawthornes would like to know abt that too so jxjsk).
one of the big enigmas of that scenario, though, is the question: "how would he go around doing it?" would he carve him out identical? would he give him a new shape, a completely new form? or would it be a completely “new” palisman but with a bit of flapjack’s loving soul inside? would hunter form “flapjack” with a new "goal"/"intention" in mind? since they previously bonded by hunter's shared-with-flapjack desire to be free and able to make his own choices, so... . AND, if flapjack could just be carved back out like that, wouldn't his sacrifice feel.... more weak/kinda worthless in the end? this just feels a bit too easy but... HM. i can’t imagine it would be easy, though. there’s always sth that’d make it a challenge, and tbh.. even if it wasn’t, at this point hunter DESERVES to have sth good happen to him, even if unrealistic or “too easy”, but yeah. that’s what makes me wonder if they’d go for this writing choice.
.....there’s also the fact that “re-making”/”bringing back” someone you’d lost is exactly what belos has been doing, albeit in a very different way and with very different intentions, but with a similar end goal, so i could see them going for a contrasty parallel here; never moving on from someone’s death vs acceptance of loss. however, on the other hand, belos also never cared abt any of the golden guards, he wasn’t bringing “caleb” back out of love. so i COULD also see the contrasting scenario in which hunter would be able to bring back flapjack, but because he’d do it out of love for him, it’d be a genuine second chance in life, a successful happy ending. sth belos could never even realistically achieve, because he’d only cared abt himself and his own forced vision of what he and “caleb” (the idealised version of his brother that he had in his head) would do together, not abt what the actual caleb (or hunter, or any of the previous grimwalkers) actually wanted or who they actually were; he couldn’t care less abt that. so yEAH, this specific idea has so many “what if”s and “what about”s, narratively it could either work or not, depending on what direction they decide to go with hunter’s grief but...... HM. yeah.
i’ve also seen ppl propose that flapjack sacrificing himself for hunter and “merging with him” gave him some actual magic and made him like a “full witch”, spell circles and all; and.. that'd be awful actually, sure hope the crew didn't go there. i’ve talked abt it before but, in general, hunter's arc as a powerless "witch" works as a strong disability metaphor. and it's just...... it's about acceptance, it's about finding self-worth, it's about accommodating your needs, it’s about becoming proud and comfortable in your identity, NOT.... about whatever the hell him actually permanently getting witch magic would be; it’d be a “fixing disability” trope, which is just..... bad. awful. so, so wrong for so many reasons. sure hope they didn’t go there cuz that'd be so pointless and take away so much importance from his arc.... but also i don’t think they’d do sth like this?? because eda’s arc (which serves as another disability metaphor) is written well and with care; they didn’t cure her curse or give her her magic back, so.. i doubt they’d give hunter magic, either. but, y’know, just to be safe and clear. (also, even symbolism aside, i don’t think hunter (who’s already made of palistrom wood) absorbing a palisman’s soul/magic/energy would result in... him becoming a “real witch” and being able to create spell circles, like? 😭😭 i doubt it’d work that way)
NOW, him getting some grimwalker-specific features/abilities unlocked, though? OR even being able to just do flapjack’s teleporty thing? that could work. him getting at least something nice out of this whole situation, still having flapjack with him, without having the metaphor behind his character erased, would be soooo nice.
now, as for harpy hunter!
it honestly makes a lot of sense too. belos, having consumed palismen, gained his whole..... y’know, goo form, which is a clear indication that absorbing palisman magic/having palismen as a part of your mindscape may change you physically. the way he’d gone about it, though, is he consumed many, MANY different palismen, and he literally..... sucked magic out of each one of them, after killing them. so i imagine that if hunter were to gain his own palisman-based form, it’d be more similar to eda’s harpy form rather than belos’ goo form, because it’d be based on flapjack only (rather than an amalgamation of all these different creatures) AND it wouldn’t have come from, y’know, sucking literal life out of poor little creatures, but from a loving friend’s willing sacrifice. à propos harpy eda, too, her harpy form obviously came from her facing her curse, bonding with the owl beast and accepting it as a part of her; so it feels like if hunter were to get a harpy form, obviously he wouldn’t have to “accept” flapjack (like that’s his little darling baby, that’s his bestie, that’s his sweet little bird), but he would probably have to deal with something in order for that to happen. the mechanics is different but.. in both instances, the “creature” (the owl beast and flapjack) inside of them is a part of them, exists in their mind (most likely/somewhat), and they’re able to somehow communicate with them and feel their presence (in hunter’s case it’s not confirmed but we may speculate that’s the case, based on what we saw in the last episode post-flapjack’s-death), so the mechanics also is sort of similar. different, yet... not.
so, in all technicality, it seems like harpy/red cardinal form hunter WOULD make sense, from the magical pov. it goes along with the logic of how some other characters’ different “monster” forms originate. although, the rules aren’t very set in stone, each of these situations is its own unique thing, so in the end it all just depends on (again) what direction the crew decides to go in.
however, the thing that makes me hmmmm about it is, i’m not sure if they'd.. implement the same metaphor as they did with eda, y'know? like, her curse and harpy form function as this whole symbolism of living with a chronic illness/disability, so hmmm would they go for the exact same conclusion/endgame with hunter? especially with the grief motif of season 3? not sure, not sure. they MIGHT though, who knows.
........there’s another thing that makes me think it MAY happen, though, and it’s like. hunter has this cursed tendency to say things that'll later come to haunt him in the MOST ironic way, like this boy literally projects on people in the most random ways and manifests every single unfortunate thing left and right, and i just 😭😭
"ew why are you touching it with your hands?" *touches a suspicious-looking substance with his finger with a FRESH OPEN WOUND on it and gets possessed* “because none of you can use real magic" *is magicless* “you don't tend to think things through, do you, human?" *never thinks things through* *is also technically partially human* "hello criminals" *becomes a criminal* "these things are made of wild magic, it’s dangerous" *is literally a grimwalker made of the same wild magic, like literally the same type of wood as palismen* LIKE..... BOY. STOP SAYING THINGS. IT NEVER ENDS WELL.
so i just.

that damn “at least i'm not delusional enough to think i can turn into a harpy" line is absolutely hysterical to me, cuz if he DOES end up being able to turn into a harpy, then......... 😭😭😭😭😭 look. a throwback to this line, a callback to this line.. it’d be so funny.
but yEAH.
there’s one more thing that makes me wonder abt where this all is going and it’s, like. flapjack basically counted as hunter’s support animal/disability aid. for someone powerless, having palisman while living in a world based around magic is... EXTREMELY helpful. hunter can’t fly without flapjack, he can’t play flyer derby without him (something he expressed he’d like to continue doing), he can’t teleport..
so, does he get a new palisman? because... there’s very little time for us to get attached to it and to kinda.. get to know it, if that’s the case. and also flapjack is still a part of hunter, so. hm. (unless that changes too, but. GAH) i feel like he loves flapjack so much, it’d be hard for hunter to replace him. he’d definitely feel so so happy being able to create palismen for others, or just for the sake of creating life, but creating a new one for himself.. that might be hard. or does he get another artificial staff? because that is a thing that represents hunter’s time at the coven, time before he bonded to flapjack, before he realized wild magic is not, in fact, dangerous at all. so hm..... OR does he indeed get flapjack’s teleporting ability?? or the ability to turn into a harpy, and that replaces the use of a palisman? (+ starts using glyph magic) could he play flyer derby like that? i suppose he could..... i hope so. or does he not replace flapjack with anything, because he spends most of his time in the human realm?
LIKE, IT’S JUST. GAHHHH. hunter... :(
i’m sure there’s gonna be lots of grief-related themes, some anger, some acceptance, some sadness, some justice, and finally some happiness in the end, something hunter deserves and needs just... so, so much. he deserves to heal, he deserves to be HAPPY. but it’s still just..... gonna hurt a lot first.
there’s honestly so many ways this can go and so many things that can happen, so........ yeah. hm. thinking.
#love being in denial! can't wait for flapjack to wake up next episode :) he's just meditating#anyway this ended up being another mini-essay so 💀 i could talk more too. have many thoughts abt that nerd.#his eye color change is also very interesting and can mean so many things...........#like. GAH. many thoughts. head full#toh spoilers#nicole answers#hunter toh#sleepy-paint#hunter#the owl house#my toh talk
