Senior Russian general killed by bomb hidden on scooter in Moscow
Kirillov claimed Ukraine was developing 'dirty bomb'published at 14:1114:11
Since 2022, Lt Gen Kirillov repeatedly claimed - without providing evidence - that Ukraine was developing a "dirty bomb", meaning a weapon that would spread nuclear material.
He said the goal was to blame Russia for its use. There is no evidence Kyiv was working to develop such a weapon.
Kirillov also claimed the US was going to provide biological weapons to Ukraine, and claimed that this would include targeting Russian troops with malaria-infected mosquitos.
And, back in 2018, he suggested, external the UK was involved in the poisoning of the former Russian spy Sergei Skripal in Salisbury.
As a reminder, the UK sanctioned Kirillov in October - and described him as a "significant mouthpiece for Russian disinformation"

Alexei Yashin Net Worth, Biography, Career, Income, Home & Age
Tumblr media
What is Alexei Yashin's Net Worth? Alexei Yashin is a former Russian professional hockey player with a $42 million net worth. Alexei Yashin played for the teams Avtomobilist Sverdlovsk and Dynamo Moscow in the USSR and the RSL, respectively. In the 1992 NHL Draft, Yashin was taken by the Ottawa Senators with the second pick. He was traded to the New York Islanders in 2001, and they quickly gave him a $87.5 million contract for 10 years. Alexei played for the Islanders and Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the RSL and KHL. In the KHL, he played for SKA St. Petersburg and CSKA Moscow. After the 2011–12 season, he quit. Yashin has competed for Russia in international competitions and won a silver medal in 1998 and a bronze medal in 2002. In 2012, Vladislav Tretiak, the president of the Russian Hockey Federation, chose him to be the general manager of the Russian National Women's Team. Early Life Yashin was born in Sverdlovsk, Russia, which was part of the Soviet Union at the time, on November 5, 1973. We don't know much about his early life, except that he started playing ice hockey at a young age, which is common in Russia. When he was 19, the National Hockey League took notice of how good he was at hockey. Career Yashin's name made its first big splash on the international hockey scene in 1992, when the Ottawa Senators picked him with their first draft pick after the team grew. Since he was already playing with Dynamo Moscow, he chose to stay in Russia for the 1992-1993 season. He then moved to Ottawa for the 1993-1994 NHL season. He came with Alexandre Daigle, another Russian player. Both were expected to be stars, but Yashin turned out to be the team's best player. He scored 79 points in his first year with the Senators and was nominated for the Calder Memorial Trophy. Yashin became an even bigger star player in the NHL in the years that followed. In 1997, he helped the Senators get into the Stanley Cup playoffs for the first time. The next year, in 1998, he scored a key overtime goal in the playoffs that helped the team beat the New Jersey Devils in their first playoff series win ever. Yashin was named team captain for the 1998-1999 season. Even though the Senators were swept in the first round of the playoffs, he had a very good season. In the end, he scored 94 points, which was the most he had ever scored in his career. By the end of the season, he was a runner-up for the Hart Memorial Trophy, which is given to the NHL's most valuable player, and was named to the NHL's Second Team All-Stars. Yashin's time in Ottawa was very successful on the ice, but he had many contract disputes while he was there. When Yashin first signed his contract, Daigle, the other Russian player, was expected to be the star player and had the most valuable contract on the team. Yashin later asked for more money and broke his contract before the 1995 season because of how well he did. Because of this, some fans began to dislike Yashin. After Yashin said he would give $1 million to the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, he made things even worse with his fans there. But when the Centre found out that one of the conditions of the donation was that they pay Yashin's parents over $400,000 in "consulting fees," they hesitated and Yashin canceled the donation, which hurt his relationship with the public even more. Getty Images Yashin's worst moment with the Senators was in 1998, when he again broke his contract and asked for a pay raise that would put him on the same salary level as NHL stars like Joe Sakic. Yashin asked to be traded, but the Senators said no. Instead, the Senators took away his role as captain and, when he continued to refuse to play, suspended him for the 1999-2000 season. Yashin's public image took a big hit when he tried to play for a Swiss team but was stopped by the International Ice Hockey Federation until the dispute was settled. He played his last season with the Senators in 2000–2001, and when he came into the arena, people would often boo and jeer at him. Yashin was traded to the New York Islanders on the day of the 2001 draft. Mike Milbury, the general manager of the Islanders, gave Yashin a ten-year, $8.7 million deal. At the time, this was a very high amount. Yashin's point production went down after he signed the contract, but he did help the team make the playoffs for the first time in years. In 2005, the team lost a number of important players, and Yashin was named captain. But the Islanders did not make the playoffs that year for the first time since Yashin joined the team. Over the next couple of years with the Islanders, Yashin had trouble getting back to where he used to be, and he also hurt his knee. In June 2007, the Islanders bought him out of the rest of his contract. Yashin signed a one-year deal with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl of the Russian Superleague in July 2007. This was after he turned down contracts from other NHL teams. Then, in 2009, he signed with the Kontinental Hockey League's SKA Saint Petersburg. He stayed there until 2011, when he signed a one-year deal with CSKA Moscow. After that, he retired. The Russian Hockey Federation put Yashin in charge of the Russian women's national ice hockey team in December 2012. Yashin has also played for Russia in the World Cup of Hockey in 1996 and 2004 and the Winter Olympics in 1998, 2002, and 2006. In 2022, he was put into the IIHF Hall of Fame. Personal Life Even though they have the same name, Yashin is not related to Lev Yashin, the famous Soviet and Russian soccer goalkeeper. Yahin dated model Carol Alt for a long time, starting in the late 1990s. Real Estate Alexei paid just under $4 million for a beautiful piece of land in the town of Old Westbury, New York, in 2001. The 8,000-square-foot mansion on the 3.3-acre property is tastefully decorated with marble all over. In January 2022, he put the house on the market for $9 million. He finally took the listing off the market after lowering the price to $7.5 million. St Xenia of St Petersburg ( glorified in 1988)
Tumblr media
Commemorated on January 24, May24 (new cal.) /June 7 ( old cal.)
She was born about 1730, and as a young woman married an army colonel named Andrei, a handsome and dashing man fond of worldly living. When she was twenty-six years old, her husband died suddenly after drinking with his friends, leaving Xenia a childless widow. Soon afterward, she gave away all her possessions and disappeared from St Petersburg for eight years; it is believed that she spent the time in a hermitage, or even a monastery, learning the ways of the spiritual life. When she returned to St Petersburg, she appeared to have lost her reason: she dressed in her husband's army overcoat, and would only answer to his name. She lived without a home, wandering the streets of the city, mocked and abused by many. She accepted alms from charitable people, but immediately gave them away to the poor: her only food came from meals that she sometimes accepted from those she knew. At night she withdrew to a field outside the city where she knelt in prayer until morning.     Slowly, the people of the city noticed signs of a holiness that underlay her seemingly deranged life: she showed a gift of prophecy, and her very presence almost always proved to be a blessing. The Synaxarion says "The blessing of God seemed to accompany her wherever she went: when she entered a shop the day's takings would be noticeably greater; when a cabman gave her a lift he would get plenty of custom; when she embraced a sick child it would soon get better. So compassion, before long, gave way to veneration, and people generally came to regard her as the true guardian angel of the city."
Forty-five years after her husband's death, St Xenia reposed in peace at the age of seventy-one, sometime around 1800. Her tomb immediately became a place of pilgrimage: so many people took soil from the gravesite as a blessing that new soil had to be supplied regularly; finally a stone slab was placed over the grave, but this too was gradually chipped away by the faithful. Miracles, healings and appearances of St Xenia occur to this day, to those who visit her tomb or who simply ask her intercessions. Her prayers are invoked especially for help in finding employment, a home, or a spouse (all of which she renounced in her own life). A pious custom is to offer a Panachida / Trisagion Service for the repose of her husband Andrei, for whom she prayed fervently throughout her life.     Saint Xenia was first officially glorified by the Russian Orthodox Church outside Russia in 1978; then by the Moscow Patriarchate in 1988.
St. Nicetas Stylites, wonderworker of Pereyaslavl-Zalesski (1186)
Tumblr media
As a youth, he was heedless and corrupt; but one day he entered a church and heard the words of Isaiah, 'Wash you, make you clean' (Is. 1:16). His life changed completely: he left his family and property to enter a monastery near Pereyaslavl, where he took on a life of severe asceticism. He wore chains and (in the words of the Prologue, 'shut himself up in a pillar', for which he was called the Stylite. He was granted the gift of healing and by his prayers restored many who came to him, including Michael, Prince of Chernigov, whom he healed of palsy. Some thieves, seeing his chains and thinking that they were made of silver, killed him one night and made off with the chains. Soon afterward, Saint Nikita appeared to an elder named Simeon and told him to put the chains with him in his grave when they were found.
St Vincent of Lérins (425)
Tumblr media
He was born in Toul in Gaul (modern-day France); he was the brother of St Lupus, Bishop of Troyes. He served as a soldier, but eventually became a monk at the monastery of Lerins. There he lived out the remainder of his life, and wrote his Commonitorium, an exposition of the true Orthodox faith; it contains the well-know statement that Christians must hold to the Faith that has been believed "everywhere, always, and by all." He reposed in peace.

John 20:11-18
11 But Mary stood outside by the tomb weeping, and as she wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb. 12 And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. 13 Then they said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him." 14 Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?" She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, "Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away." 16 Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to Him, "Rabboni!" (which is to say, Teacher). 17 Jesus said to her, "Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, 'I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.' " 18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had spoken these things to her.
Acts 16:16-34
16 Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling. 17 This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, "These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation." 18 And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, "I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her." And he came out that very hour. 19 But when her masters saw that their hope of profit was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to the authorities. 20 And they brought them to the magistrates, and said, "These men, being Jews, exceedingly trouble our city; 21 and they teach customs which are not lawful for us, being Romans, to receive or observe. 22 Then the multitude rose up together against them; and the magistrates tore off their clothes and commanded them to be beaten with rods. 23 And when they had laid many stripes on them, they threw them into prison, commanding the jailer to keep them securely. 24 Having received such a charge, he put them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks. 25 But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's chains were loosed. 27 And the keeper of the prison, awaking from sleep and seeing the prison doors open, supposing the prisoners had fled, drew his sword and was about to kill himself. 28 But Paul called with a loud voice, saying, "Do yourself no harm, for we are all here." 29 Then he called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 And he brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" 31 So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household." 32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. 33 And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized. 34 Now when he had brought them into his house, he set food before them; and he rejoiced, having believed in God with all his household.

A Selection of Sergei Yesenin Poems Translated by Anton Yakovlev
Translator’s Note: This selection contains a range of poems spanning his full literary career, from 1910 when he was 15 years old, to the last year of his life (1925).
As you will see, many of the poems are untitled, not unusually for Russian poems, and marked with standard three asterisks (and identified by first line in tables of contents, conversation or scholarship). I've included the years of composition under each poem since that might help add some historic context (which of course includes World War I and the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917).
* * *
 High water has licked
The silt with smoke.
The moon has dropped
Its yellow reins.
 Paddling a punt,
I bump into banks.
Red haystacks by the fence rails
Look like churches.
 With mournful cawing
In the silence of marshes
The black grouse
Is calling for vespers.
 In blue gloom the grove
Shrouds the destitution…
Secretly I will pray
For your future.
 <1910>

Is it my fault that I’m a poet
Of heavy suffering and bitter fate?
After all, it wasn’t my choice—
It’s just the way I came into the world.
Is it my fault that I don’t cherish life,
That I love and simultaneously hate everyone,
And know things about myself I don’t yet see—
That is my gift from the muse.
I know there is no happiness in life,
Life is lunacy, the dream of a sick soul,
And I know my gloomy tunes bore everyone,
But it’s not my fault—that’s the kind of poet I am.
 <1911—1912>
  The Birch
 The white birch
Under my window
Wrapped herself in snow
As though in silver.
 Like snow borders
On fluffy branches,
White fringes of tassels
H    ave blossomed.
 And the birch stands
In listless silence,
And the snowflakes burn
In the golden fire.
 And the dawn, lazily
Walking around,
Sprinkles t   he branches
With new silver.
 <1913>
* * *
Out came the Lord to test humanity’s love,
Walked out into a field in the guise of a beggar.
An old man sitting on a stump in an oak grove
Was chewing a dry crumpet with his toothless mouth.
The old man saw the beggar walking
Down the path with an iron cane
And thought, “What a poor, sick fellow—
I bet it’s hunger that’s making him teeter.”
The Lord walked up to him, hiding his sorrow and pain,
Thinking he couldn’t awaken anyone’s heart...
And the old man extended his hand,
“Here, chew on this... you’ll feel a little stronger.”
 <1914>
* * *
In the land of yellow nettle
And dried-out wattle
Village huts, like orphans,
Cling to willows.
In the fields, behind the ravine’s blue thicket,
Among green lakes,
The sand road stretches up to
The Siberian Mountains.
Lost somewhere in Mordva and Chuda,
Russia knows no fear,
And the people, the people in shackles
Walk down that road.
All of them are murderers or thieves,
As ordained by fate.
I’ve fallen in love with their sad eyes
And their hollow cheeks.
There is so much evil and joy in killers.
Their hearts are simple.
But their blue mouths grin
On their blackened faces.
In secret, I cherish one dream:
That I’m pure of heart.
But I too will knife someone to death
One whistling autumn.
 And on a windy route,
Perhaps on this very same sand,
They will lead me, rope on my neck,
To fall in love with anguish.
And when I smile, in passing,
Stretching my chest,
The bad weather will lick the road of my life
With its tongue.
 <1915>
* * *
I’m tired of living in my native land,
Yearning for the vast fields of buckwheat.
I’ll leave my shack
To be a vagrant and a thief.
I’ll walk the white curls of the day
To look for some wretched lodging.
And, seeing me, my best friend
Will sharpen his boot knife.
 The yellow road is entwined
With the spring and the meadow sun,
And the one whose name I cherish
Will chase me from her threshold.
Again I will come back to the house of my birth,
Console myself with someone else’s joy,
And, some green evening, hang myself
On my sleeve under the window.
The grizzled willows by the wicker fence
Will drop their heads a bit more tenderly.
They will bury me, unwashed,
To the sound of barking dogs.
And the moon will swim on and on,
Dropping its oars into lakes...
And Russia will go on living,
Dancing and weeping by the fence.
 <1916>
* * *
 Swimming in the blue dust,
The moon butts a cloud with its horn.
This night, no one will guess
Why the herons screamed.
This night, she ran through the reeds
To the green backwater.
Her white hand swept her tousled hair
Over her tunic.
She ran up, glanced at the quick spring
And sat down on the stump in pain.
In her eyes, the daisies wilted
The way a swamp light goes out.
At dawn, through the spiraling fog,
She swam away and vanished in the distance...
And the moon, swimming in the blue dust,
Nodded to her from behind the hill.
 <1916> * * *
Your pensive sigh is calling me
To warm light, to my native threshold
Where grandmother and grandfather sit on the porch
Awaiting their spirited sunflower-aged grandson.
Their grandson is slim and white as a birch,
With honey hair and velvet hands.
Except, o my friend, I see from his blue eyes—
They’re only dreaming of his worldly life.
The bright Virgin in the icon corner
Beams joy into their darkness.
With a quiet smile on her thin lips
She holds their grandson in her arms.
 <1917> * * *
 Here it is, silly happiness
With white windows that look into the garden.
The sunset quietly swims
In the pond like a red swan.
 Hello, golden quiet
With your shadow of a birch in the water.
A flock of crows on the roof
Holds vespers for a star.
  Somewhere past the garden, timidly,
Out where the guelder-rose blooms,
A tender girl in white
Sings a tender song.
In a bluish fog, the night cool
Sweeps from the field.
Silly, sweet happiness.
Fresh blush of cheeks.
 <1918>
* * *
 Country, o my country!
Autumnal rainy tin.
The shivering streetlight reflects
Its lipless head in a black puddle.
No, it’s best not to look,
Or else I’ll see something worse.
I’ll just keep squinting my eyes
At all this rusted haze.
It’s warmer this way and less painful.
Look: between the skeletons of houses
A bell tower, like a miller, carries
The copper bagfuls of bells.
If you’re hungry, you will be nourished.
If you’re miserable, you’ll find joy.
Just don’t look at me too openly,
My unknown earthly brother.
As I thought, so I did. But alas!
It’s the same every time!
Looks like my body is too used to
Feeling this shivering cold.
Well, so what! There are many others,
I’m not the only one alive in the world!
As for the street light, one moment it blinks,
The next moment it laughs with its lipless head.
Only my heart, under shabby clothes,
Whispers to me, who has visited solid ground:
“My friend, my friend, the eyes that have seen
Can only be shut by death.”
 <1921>
* * *
Don’t torment me with your icy demeanor
And don’t ask me how old I am.
I’ve got a severe falling sickness;
My soul is a yellow skeleton.
There was a time when, hailing from outskirts,
In a smoke of my boyish dreams,
I imagined riches and fame,
And being loved by all.
Yes! I’m rich, I’m rich beyond words.
I had a top hat; now I don’t.
All I’ve got left is one shirtfront
And a worn-out pair of fashionable shoes.
And my fame is no worse:
From Moscow to Paris
My name inspires horror
Like a loud swearword painted on a fence.
 As to love—isn’t it funny?
You kiss me, but lips feel like tin.
I know, my feeling is overripe
And yours won’t be able to bloom.
Oh well, I’m too young to brood,
And if I’m sad—what of it?
Fresh grass that covers the hills
Rustles with more gold than your braids.
I’d love to go back to that place
Where, listening to rustling golden grass,
I could sink forever into oblivion
In the smoke of my boyish dreams.
But this time I’d dream of something new,
Something earth or grass can’t understand,
Something no heart can express in words
And no human being could name.
 <1923>
 * * *
A blue May. An eventide warmth.
The ring at the gate makes no sound.
Sticky smell wafts from the sagebrush.
The cherry tree sleeps in a white gown.
Through the wooden wings of the window,
The whimsical moon is weaving
The lace patterns of the fine curtains
And the window frames onto the floor.
Our living room might be small,
But it’s clean. I’m here at my leisure...
This night I’m enjoying my life
Like a pleasant thought of a friend.
The garden blazes like a frothy fire,
And the moon, straining all its powers,
Would like everyone to tremble
From the piercing word “darling.”
In this blossoming, in this smoothness,
Hearing the merry harmonica of May,
I’m the only one who wishes for nothing,
Who accepts everything as is.
 I accept it—come and appear,
Everything that brings pain and relief...
Peace be with you, life that has rumbled by.
Peace be with you, light-blue chill.
 <1925>
Born in Moscow, Russia, Anton Yakovlev studied filmmaking and poetry at Harvard University. He is the author of poetry chapbooks The Ghost of Grant Wood (Finishing Line Press, 2015) and Neptune Court (The Operating System, 2015). His poems have appeared in The New Yorker, The Hopkins Review, Prelude, Measure, The Best of The Raintown Review, The Stockholm Review of Literature, and elsewhere. His book of translations of poetry by Sergei Esenin is forthcoming from Sensitive Skin Books in 2017. He has also directed several short films.
One of the most important Russian poets of all time, Sergei Yesenin (1895-1925) was a founding member of the short-lived but influential Imaginist movement, which stood in contrast to Futurism and was related to Imagism in English. Originally from the village of Konstantinovo, Ryazan Province, Yesenin spent most of his adult life in Petrograd (later Leningrad, now St. Petersburg), but most of his poetry continued to focus on nature and traditional rural life. In 1922 he married the American dancer Isadora Duncan, but their marriage was short-lived. Though he initially supported the Bolshevik regime, the poet became disenchanted with it, recognizing the encroaching and destructive effects of Soviet industrialization on the peasant population. According to the official account, on the night of December 27, 1925, he hanged himself after writing his final poem in his own blood, though many experts, relatives, and friends of the poet have disputed the official narrative.

Tsar era vampire AU? 👀
Nonnie you’re spoiling me (ღ˵´◡`˵)ノ♡ Thank you so much! That aside, here’s my obligatory excuse for taking so long. I hope you and everyone else who reads this will enjoy it nonetheless. Also, I added historical figures and dates to this AU (with some freedom when it comes to accuracy ;) )
WhenYuuri was 6 years old, Minako moved back from St. Petersburg toHasetsu. For years she’d been dancing for the emperor’s ballet inRussia. Originally, she’d planned to further share and teach theart of ballet in Japan, but when she started to teach Yuuri and sawhis incredible talent, she spoke to Toshiya and Hiroko.
Fouryears, many letters, and many hours of ballet training and lessons inthe Russian language later, Yuuri and Minako travelled to St.Petersburg.
LiliaBaranovskaya inspects Yuuri and tests his talent. She finds himworthy to be trained as one of the future dancers of the emperor’sballet, and Minako gets the position to help train and educate theyoung dancers while she also stays as Yuuri’s legal guardian.
Onehundred years ago (ca. 1770) the young son of the empress CatherineII. was attacked while he was out hunting. His attacker was a vampireand rather than murdering him, he turned him into one of his own.Victor, who loved his mother, the empress very much, decided toreturn to her to tell her of his fate. Her love for her son wasstrong enough to overcome the shock and disgust, and she begged himto stay and live in the palace with her.
Aftershe handed over the rulership in 1796, he continued to rule, and allthe following “emperors” were but a public stand-in for himself. To hide the truth, they made up a sickness for Victor, that“prevented” him from taking the throne, and together with astand-in they found other solutions to hide his immortality, Victorcontinued to rule until the present.
Victoralways was a lover of various art forms, and dance had always beenone of his favourites. Therefore, he made sure to visit the Mariinskitheatre as often as he could (only the night performances and indisguise, of course).
Yuuricontinued to become the best male dancer the company had at thattime, and the age of 21 he was selected to dance the part of princeSiegfried in Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake”. It was when the St.Petersburg ballet director decided to give the formerly unsuccessfulballet piece a new chance with a better and more challengingchoreography, since Tchaikovsky’s fame and popularity grew eversince the first premiere in Moscow, which had been a disaster.
Itgoes without saying that Victor made sure to always attend thepremiere of a new piece at the Mariinski. While the ballet offeredmany breathtaking moments for the prima, he found himself mesmerisedby the dancer of the prince. He could swear that he’d never seensuch beauty and musicality in one person, and he decided that he hadto meet him.
Thepremiere was a success and Yuuri felt like fainting when it wasfinally over. But a few minutes after the final applause he wasapproached by the director. “A member of the Tsar family wishes tospeak to you in private,” the director said. Bewildered,Yuuri followed him into a private room of the theatre. In it a youngman in his twenties with beautiful, long and silver hair sat on aluxurious armchair. His skin was fair incredibly pale, and his eyeswere of a stunning blue. Yuuri felt inferior just being in hisintimidating presence, more so because he was all sweaty from hisperformance just a few moments ago.
“HisHighness,” Yuuri bowed deeply, and the director left them alone.“I quite enjoyed tonight’s premiere, which is to greatparts thanks to your outstanding performance,” the man said, allwhile thoroughly looking at Yuuri, mustering himappreciatively.“Thank you so much your Highness,” Yuuri wasdizzy, and the other’s presence and attention made his heart race,“but I am afraid you’re praising me too much.”Yuuricouldn’t forget the man who’d asked him to only call him Victor, and Victor didn’t make it easier either: he regularly sent Yuuriletters, flowers and presents, and every time he came to watch aperformance he’d request to see Yuuri. With passing time, Yuuristarted to trust Victor, and before he could stop himself, he’dfallen for the man (not that he’d really have had the power tocontrol his emotions that far). Soon, they started to meet when Yuuriwasn’t performing.
A few months later, Victor invited Yuurito a private dinner for two in his chambers, where he finallyconfessed that he’d been courting Yuuri since he first saw himperform, and that he hoped Yuuri would accept and become his partner. They shared their first kiss in the dim candle light that night.
Ayear since then passed, and Victor still hadn’t told Yuuri abouthis condition, though he knew Yuuri’d grown suspicious. He knewthat he needed to tell Yuuri soon. Still, he was afraid Yuuri wouldleave him, that he’d be horrified, disgusted, or that he’d evencome to hate Victor. When he finally told Yuuri, he was painedby the fear and betrayal in his lover’s eyes. He’d foolishlyhoped he’d never have to see that expression. Yuuri asked him fortime and distance to come to terms with this new information, andVictor let him leave.
Weekswent by until he got a letter from Yuuri. During all that time herealised how much Yuuri’d changed his life, how much more alivehe’d felt thanks to Yuuri. With dread he opened the letter, but tohis relief Yuuri asked for them to meet and talk again. Thenext evening, Yuuri visited and they talked for hours. Yuuri wantedto know everything about being a vampire, and about Victor. Heanswered everything with full honesty and didn’t leave anythingout. When he was finished, Yuuri stayed silent for a few moments, mustering him just as Victor had when they’d first met. Then hesaid, “I’ve made my decision Victor, if you want to, you may turnme into one of your kind.” It was more that Victor’d everdared to dream of—tohear those words from Yuuri—tobe able to stay with him forever…“Areyou sure?”“Yes,” Yuuri looked him firmly in theeyes.Victor reached out his hand towards Yuuri, quietly askinghim to join his side. He let Yuuri to his bed where he kissed him—ithad been so long… Later in the same night he bit Yuuri, finally tasting his delicious blood, while he turned him into avampire.

In fair Verona, our tale begins with FARON VASILIEV, who is THIRTY-FIVE years old. He is often called FORTINBRAS by the MONTAGUES and works as their EMISSARY. He uses HE/HIM pronouns.
Tumblr media
Kings are born in one of TWO ways: the excess of money and the arrogance that inevitably comes of it, or the lack of money and the desperation it inexplicably cultivates. Faron Vasiliev was bred of the LATTER, of the worry lines and sleepless nights that come from not knowing if your next meal will be your last, though the way he was taught to carry himself often led his peers to believe otherwise. His mother and father wanted better for their son, wanted more for him than a dead-end job and the hopeless snare of barely comfortable mediocrity, and rationed paycheck by rationed paycheck, they bought it for him. He was enrolled in the best all-boys preparatory school they could afford, was brought up and educated alongside merchants’ sons and lawyers-to-be. A pauper among princes in all but his INTELLECT, he matched his fellow students stride for stride—both in the classroom and on the track—in hand-me-down ties and shoes that had seen better days and richer owners, fooling many and hanging his head before none. The pampered boys of the fashionable part of town couldn’t bear the thought of a rat two steps from the slums calling their alma mater his, so they sought first to run him out and then to make him one of their own when he didn’t budge.
But a boy raised to never forget where he came from so that he might better remember where he’s trying to go bought into none of their antics. Instead, in the months following graduation and his father’s untimely death, he put his meager inheritance into stocks, LEARNING—through trial and error and countless nights spent poring over records and borrowed journals—how to play the market like a fiddle. It was slow-going at first, as most great endeavors are, but within a few short years, the lone Vasiliev heir had increased his inheritance tenfold, a rags to riches story no one ever imagined they’d read but weren’t particularly surprised when they did. He became a force to be reckoned with, a man to seek out for a taste of prosperity, a bit of help—with a PRICE. It is the nature of man to want more, to reach for it until his arms tire and then reach further still, and even the best among men bow to one sovereign and one sovereign alone: GREED. It’s the flicker in the dark, the ember in the ashes, the force that drives a man to walk through a fire of his own making; it’s an emperor’s coronation—it’s HIS. He learned how to make greed his weapon instead of becoming a weapon of greed, and thus began his ascent to a throne lusted after by many but sat by none.
He built his empire on the one thing so many others crumbled beneath: DEBTS. Careful enough to get most of his money back but bold enough to lend to men he knew could never repay him in order to buy their loyalty, Faron became something akin to a king on the streets of St. Petersburg, ruling with an iron fist and a silver tongue. A HADES of the new age, he drew disciples in with promises of greatness and wealth and bid them stay by tasting the pomegranate seeds of unrivaled ambition, and his circle—once small—grew bigger still. He’d learned something at that academy, you see, something politicians so love to teach their sons: how to make believers of men who worship no gods but themselves. And WORSHIP him they did, in their own crude way—with sweat and blood and fear-soaked devotion; hailing his name and hollering it until its echoes traveled all the way to Verona, Italy. Through their established connections in Russia, the Montagues were the first to appraise Faron’s encroaching influence. After all, it’s easy for a king to recognize one in the making and it was with that keen intuition that Damiano seeked to recruit the Vasiliev man. He had even gone as far as travel to Moscow and offer the proposition personally. Faron was reluctant to abandon his dominion and serve under another’s, but tempted though he was to try his hand at an even bigger crown. And so, he led his pride to the west—to Verona, the land of gods and fools.
When the new age dawns, they’ll write in their books that time felled the kings with reigns that grew too heavy to carry, that man can only rule so long before he breaks, but the truth of it all is damnably SIMPLE. The conquerors of old did greed’s bidding—let themselves become slaves to the will of avarice—but the world has learned from its mistakes, and the product of this rather tiring lesson is him: half a man, half a mystery. Few can fathom how a man who’s climbed so high can see as clearly as he did when he had next to nothing, but the glory of it all is that they don’t need to. They need only to watch—as he lays waste to their kingdoms, as he makes them HIS OWN.
Tumblr media
CALINA SOKOLOVA: Adviser. He’s told her on many an occasion that she’s the best investment he’s ever made—money well-spent, but she’s more than that, far more, a rich sort of knowledge imparted in the way he looks at her, the way he listens to her. He makes it no secret that he values her and her opinions, that if he thinks to crown himself king, she’ll surely sit the throne at his right, and it’s an odd sort of clarity, a transparency unexpected from a man like him, but genuine nonetheless. She’s the closest thing to an equal he’s ever had, this woman who came from even less than him, and for that reason, he’ll share the empire they’ve built together, if she’ll have it. This is their rags to riches story, written in blood—that of their enemies and their own.
BORIS KOVROV: Distrust. Every great king needs his general, his right hand, and he’s certainly found that and more in Kovrov—a snake of a man who’d had his fill of Verona and found his way into the lion’s den. Faron saw something in his eyes—a lust for power not unlike his own and the willingness to get it through any means, a quality as admirable as it is damning. He’s already forsaken one sovereign in the name of his own desires, and his new sovereign isn’t foolish or merciful enough to think he won’t do it again. Let him be Judas; let him preach in the name of his lord and do his lord’s bidding, and let him kiss the cheek of his king when the traitorous hour comes—let him pay homage to the last.
GRACE DALY & TRINITY ZAKARIAN: Knights. His crimson angels, his soldiers that are anything but—where one has been by his side for as long as he can remember, the other is a quiet new addition to his ranks. He might not be a captain among the Montague’s ranks, but he was aking in St. Petersburg, and like chess pieces plucked from obscurity, Trinity Cruyssen and Grace Daly are his knights, with teeth bared like sharpened blades. Trinity is his livewire, his lioness that no one would ever dare cage; she is built from violence, with chaos in her bones and blood in her mouth, a hunger singing so loudly in her veins Faron wonders how she doesn’t crack apart from it. The day that she pledged herself into his service was one for the history books, the day violence incarnate came to its knees and exalted his cause, vowed to deliver him a kingdom on a silver platter. Grace though, there are very few people in Verona that would dare to call Grace Daly a blessing, but he can’t think of her any other way. He was enraptured by her the moment he met her; a turncoat that wore her red jacket with pride, he wanted her in his ranks as soon as he saw the way she bowed violence to her will. The pair of his knights are chaos incarnate, and the more he has a monopoly on violence, the more power he knows he has. Grace doesn’t know yet about his grander plans, the future for himself he’s determined history will look back on with awe, but soon enough he’ll bring her under his wing completely. After all, once a turncoat, always a turncoat. He doesn’t think it will take much to convince her to stand behind him when the time comes for Verona to fall to a new king.
ROMAN MONTAGUE & LAWRENCE VERNON: Resentments. Faron has always been a self-made man, but these boys were handed godhood on a silver platter, were born with gold in their blood and crowns on their heads, and every time that they exercise their so called ‘right’ to rule it makes Faron’s blood boil. It was Lawrence Vernon who first brought up the idea of joining the Montague ranks to him, he who happened to be in Russia and caught wind of the man who had turned the streets of St. Petersburg into a kingdom and flew Damiano out to convince Faron into joining their own ranks. It was one thing to bend his knee to one of the kings of Verona, but it was another thing entirely to bend his knee to the man’s son, to a man who hadn’t had to fight for his crown with tooth and blood the way that Faron himself had. But then the Vernon boy went and got himself into a bit of Russian trouble, and it had been his own adviser that saved him from a fate worse than death: being caged. He looks forward to seeing one of the undeserving gods bend before him in thanks.
Faron is portrayed by DAVID GANDY and was written by BREE. He is DECEASED.

I Bet You Never Heard This One In School

(Image is from a map of the year 1754)
The vast empire of Tartary is a country that appears on ancient maps.
It had worldwide influence and once covered North and South America, Australia, New Zealand most of Russia, China, Europe, Japan, India and Korea. For the most part the citizens of this country were led by their own guidance of natural law honoring truth and integrity. They enjoyed a high standard of living and dwelt in harmony with nature. They built amazing edifices all over the world. The wonderous cathedrals of Europe and the enormous aqueducts in southern Europe and in Mexico. The Grand Canal in China and the Erie Canal in America. The fabulous outside arenas around the Mediterranean Sea. The Coliseum in Rome and the magnificent temples in St. Petersburg Russia. They lived in luxuriant villas. They made ziggurats, star forts, dolmens and earthen mounds all of which utilized Etheric natural energy. They created exquisite statues and crafted golden ornaments. They built the Great Wall in what is now China. Marco Polo wrote an extensive and detailed account of Asia in the 13th and 14th centuries and did not even mention a wall. The Great Wall is not seen on any maps pre-dating the late 1600’s. So most of it’s construction occurred in 1700’s and it was built to keep the encroaching Chinese out of Tartaria. The openings on the wall are on the north side towards the former Tartary not on the south China facing side. It should be called the Great Wall of Tartaria. The further back in time you go the more advanced it gets. There are many pyramids of different kinds. Megalithic temples hewn out of solid rock. The Ellora Caves in India. The colossal underground monolithic churches of Lalibela Ethiopia. Extensive underground tunnel systems. The astonishing Serapeum of Saqqara in Egypt. The earlier the monolithic stone the bigger it is and the more precision it is cut with. The earlier the structure the more incapable we are of replicating it. Never was mortar used. In past ages the world was more diverse. Skeletons of giants are found on all continents. And remains of beings with elongated skulls. Graveyards of little people and horned human like entities have been unearthed. Now it is as if these beings have never existed. Like the Tartarians they are never mentioned. We live in a virtual reality where true history is ignored and covered up. A totally false narrative is taught. Fantasies have replaced truth and everything is pushed way back to the remote past. Older advanced structures are credited to local people who came later who have no idea how to build them. Deception has been utilized to push history back a thousand years and create an artificial dark age. The time of Jesus was less than 1000 years ago. In the Middle Ages the i and J before numbers designated Jesus. Not the number one. For example i346 is 346 years after the time of Jesus. It is not 1346. Way back in the Old Testament at the time immediately following the Exodus it states that the Israelites used the Arc of the Covenant as a weapon of war. Against the Amorites, Midianites and Philistines. So the use of energy weapons has been going on for over a thousand years. It was perfected to the point where it was able to take out many millions of Tartarians. The energy weapons melted cities and destroyed the civilizations of Egypt, Greece and Rome which were approximately of the same time period as Jesus and were heavily influenced by Tartaria. Not only are they pushed way back into remote history, the extent of their empires have been fabricated. Destroying the pyramid complex was the first objective of the Israelites. Puma Punku which is part of the Tiahuanacu complex in Bolivia had interlocking megaliths of andesite and diorite. These are types of granite only surpassed in hardness by diamonds but they were somehow carved with laser like flatness. Now they are broken and shattered and blown to bits. Tiahuanaco and Puma Punku is said to have been built by a simple local migrating tribe. This idea is used all over the world to dismiss and cover-up the ancient advanced cultures. Energy weaponized from the Arc of the Covenant is what brought down the Walls of Jericho. The Arc was an electrical capacitor composed of silver and brass alloys and gilded with gold. It’s true purpose was to store and direct energy from the Earth to outside sources. But transporting it around was very dangerous and it caused people to become sick and die. It had a constant radiation but it also sent out intermittent electrical surges where many people were killed instantly. The ones who carried it had to wear protective clothing. The electrical capacity of such an apparatus would be over 500 volts. Opposing armies would be defenseless against such a weapon. The volume or cubic capacity of the empty coffer inside the Kings Chamber in the Great Pyramid of Giza is exactly the same volume as the Arc of the Covenant. According to Egyptian tradition the Israelites plundered Egypt during the upheaval at the time of the Exodus. They took the Arc out of the so called Kings Chamber in the Great Pyramid of Giza at this time. The tribe of Israel also used religion as a means to get their foot in the door in the ruling affairs of foreign countries. A religious leader holds great power able to influence many simple minds who believe the leader’s edicts are from God. The Druids who held such sway in England were Jewish. So were the Jesuits. So have been all the Popes and the Mormon leaders. The reason why Jewish people look down upon Christians is because they know they invented the Christian religion. Jewish beliefs are just a rendition of the former appearances and interactions of planetary Gods. Books written in Tartary were rewritten and sold as Jewish history. Much of the content was fabricated and interfused with traditional local beliefs. This is how they sold their religion. They used Monks to write what they wanted making them think they were doing God’s work. The burning of old books and the rewriting of them in order to change history is the real Reformation. The Library of Alexandria in Egypt was purposely destroyed to limit knowledge. Making deals with kings was a way they were able to get control of a country’s financial system. Once one controls the money supply and its allotments then they control the country. In this way righteous kings were replaced by insurgent kings who defrauded the people to take part in unjust wars. Just fake an event such as a murder, blame it on another country, add some patriotic and religious slogans, demonize the other country and you have created a war. In the Middle Ages the spraying of viruses not only eliminated entire villages it caused the Black Plague which killed off over 70 million people in Europe. Disease was a favorite weapon used against the Tartarian kingdom. In 1346 at the Siege of Kaffa in the Ukraine the Tartarians suffered an epidemic of plague brought on by the catapulting of viruses into the city. Fire was used to burn crops and create famine. The 1490’s saw the first signs of collapse of the Tartary Empire. In 1666 the city of London was intentionally burned. Tartaria was severely weakened in 1775. But it remained until the early 1800’s. When Napoleon attacked Russia, Moscow was hit by an energy weapon. So was Washington DC in the War of 1812. These wars were actually wars against Tartarians. The first two world wars were to wipe out remaining Tartarian influences. Genghis Khan was said to be a Mogul. Mogul is just a made-up name which is then associated with Mongolia. Genghis Khan fought to restore the kingdom of Tartary and reclaim their land. His mounted warriors were called Tartars. Now Tartary is associated with hell. Many buildings in America demolished or still standing, said to be built by early pioneers or native people in America were in fact built by the Tartars. Disease was also used against the native people in the Americas. It is estimated that 95% of them perished from disease. Mostly smallpox. The Aztecs looked upon the Spaniards as the returning of their light colored god. Their beliefs harkened back to the events in the ancient sky when a light colored god came down from the heavens to save them. But these light colored people came to kill them. The Old World Order was replaced by the New World Order. And the Gregorian Calendar was instituted. To force the common people to accept a new false chronology. Peace and freedom was been replaced by being fenced up in strict borders. The suppression of Tartary coincides with the new teaching of evolution. We just think we are evolving. We have become disconnected with nature and disconnected with reality. It was not always like that. The farther back in time you go the more connected and at peace we were. With ourselves, with the animals and with the land we lived on.
We were fluttering longing creatures a thousand thousand years before the sea and the wind gave us words. How can we express the ancient of days in us with only the sounds of our yesterdays?

Europe's surprise that so unusual an idea as universal peace should come out of "semi-barbaric” Russia betrayed its lack of awareness of the richly creative culture which was flourishing there. The early years of Nicholas's reign were a period of such glittering intellectual and cultural achievement that they are known as the “Russian Renaissance” or the “Silver Age.” The ferment of activity and new ideas included not only politics but philosophy and science, music and art. In literature, Anton Chekov was writing the plays and short stories which would become world classics. In 1898, Constantine Stanislavsky first opened the doors of the famous Moscow Art Theatre, and its second play, Chekov's The Sea Gull, written in 1896, determined its success. Thereafter the appearance of Uncle Vanya (1899) and The Cherry Orchard (1904) confirmed the arrival of a new concept of naturalistic acting and a new era in the history of the theatre. In 1902, Stanislavsky directed The Lower Depths, a grimly realistic play by Maxim Gorky, hitherto known primarily for his massive novels. In Kiev, from 1900 to 1905, Sholom Aleichem, who had already lost a fortune trading on the grain and stock exchanges, was devoting himself entirely to writing in Yiddish the scores of short stories which have made him known as the “Jewish Mark Twain.” In philosophy, Vladimir Solov'ev, the preeminent religious philosopher and poet, had begun publishing his works in 1894. In 1904, the poems of Solov'ev's famous disciple Alexander Blok began to appear. At the Institute of Experimental Medicine in St. Petersburg, Ivan Pavlov, one of a group of Russian scientists making significant advances in chemistry and medicine, was conducting the experiments in physiology which won him a Nobel Prize in 1904. Russian painting was in transition. Ilya Repin, then a professor of historical painting at the St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts, was crowning a career of painting the great historical scenes of Russia's past. Victor Vasnetsov and Michael Nesterov had gone back even further and were attempting to re-create medieval religious art. Meanwhile, a rank of younger artists was responding excitedly to exhibitions in Russia of Cézanne, Gauguin and Picasso. Serov, influenced by the French Impressionists, painted evocative portraits of many contemporary Russians including, in 1900, the Tsar. In 1896, Vassily Kandinsky, a lawyer in Moscow, gave up his career and left Russia to begin painting in Munich. In 1907, Marc Chagall arrived in St. Petersburg to study with the famous contemporary painter Lev Bakst. At the Imperial Ballet, Marius Petipa was in the midst of a halfcentury reign as choreographer which would last until he resigned in 1903. In richly magnificent succession, he staged sixty major ballets, among them Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty. It was Petipa who thrust onto the stage the glittering parade of Russian dancers which included Mathilde Kschessinska, Tamara Karsavina, Anna Pavlova and Vaslav Nijinsky. Even today, the great ballet companies of the world are measured for excellence against the standards set by Petipa. In 1899, Serge Diaghilev founded the influential journal The World of Art and editorially began to criticize Petipa's conservative style. In 1909, Diaghilev, with a daring new choreographer, Michael Fokine, founded the Ballet Russe in Paris and took the world by storm.

In the superlative music conservatories of St. Petersburg and Moscow, an unbroken succession of famous teachers passed their art to talented pupils. Nicholas Rimsky-Korsakov was the conductor of the St. Petersburg Symphony. While writing his own magnificent Golden Cockerel, he was instructing a youthful Igor Stravinsky, whose brilliantly original ballet scores written for Diaghilev, Firebird (1910), Petrushka (1911) and Rite of Spring (1913), were to have gigantic influence on all twentieth-century music. Later, in 1914, another of Rimsky-Korsakov's pupils, Serge Prokoviev, was to graduate from the conservatory. Among the violinists and pianists trained in Imperial Russia were Serge Rachmaninov, Vladimir Horowitz, Efrem Zimbalist, Mischa Elman and Jascha Heifetz. Serge Koussevitsky conducted his own symphony orchestra in Moscow. In 1899, the matchless basso Fedor Chaliapin made his debut and thereafter dominated the opera stage. Across Russia, people flocked to hear music and opera. Kiev, Odessa, Warsaw and Tiflis each had its own opera company with a season of eight to nine months. St. Petersburg alone had four opera houses. In 1901, Tsar Nicholas built one of these, the Narodny Dom or People's Palace. Believing that ordinary Russians should have an opportunity to savor the best in national music and drama, Nicholas had constructed a vast building which included theatres, concert halls and restaurants, with admission fees of only twenty kopecks. In time, the best orchestras and the leading actors and musicians appeared there. St. Petersburg society, enjoying the flavor of something new, trooped to follow.

18th Century Timeline: 1701 to 1800
1711-20   1721-30   1731-40   1741-50
1751-60   1761-70   1771-80   1781-90   1791-1800
1701  In England, the mark of a gentleman has become restraint – a response to the passions of war and religious conflict. Good manners are valued as a barrier against more conflict. Passionate preaching is seen by many as vulgar. There is a decline in demand for religious uniformity – a step away from the belief prevalent in the Middle Ages that those with views different from one's own are evil.
1701  By now, an explosive growth in global commerce was underway, created by the advances in economic organization that had been taking place in the West. But the transport of goods is slow, slow, slow compared to what it would be in the late 1800s and the 1900s. And manufacturing remained undeveloped.
1701  In London, Captain William Kidd is hanged.
1701  The last Habsburg king of Spain dies childless and without an heir. The War of Spanish Succession follows. England, the Dutch Republic and the Holy Roman Emperor oppose the king of France also becoming the king of Spain, and they form an anti-French alliance.
1701  The Habsburg Holy Roman Emperor, King of Hungary and Bohemia and Archduke of Austria, Joseph I, gives permission to the Elector of Brandenburg to be crowned Frederick I, King of Prussia. A new and powerful state under Hohenzollern kings is in the making.
1702  The recent death of Sweden's king has encouraged Denmark, Russia and Poland to challenge Sweden's hegemony in the Baltic Sea area. The Great Northern War begins. Sweden's young new king, Charles XII, demonstrates his power by leading an army into Poland, routing a combined German and Polish force and putting onto the throne in Poland a king of his choosing: Stanislaus Leszczynski, who becomes Stanislaus I.
1702  The French and English battle at St. Augustine in Florida, the War of Spanish Succession in the Americas to be called Queen Anne's War – Anne being the Queen of England. In the Americas both sides use Indians as allies. An Anglo-Dutch fleet destroys a Spanish treasure fleet off the coast of Spain, capturing a fortune in silver.
1703  Tsar Peter (to be known as Peter the Great) would like a port at Riga in order to supplant his port at Archangel in the frozen far north. Riga is still held by the Swedes, so he starts building on marshland that will eventually become the city of St. Petersburg.
1705  Hardship, increased taxation and misconception provoke rebellion by Russians in Astrakhan by the Caspian Sea.
1705  An intrusion into Tibet by China's Manchu ruler is blocked by resistance from Mongol people called Dzungars.
1706  In Boston, Benjamin Franklin is born, the tenth son of a candle and soap maker.
1706  The English drive the French out of most of the Spanish Netherlands (Belgium).
1707  Scotland and England become the United Kingdom of Great Britain on May 1, shortly after the parliaments of Scotland and England ratified the Treaty of Union of 1706.
1707  More Europeans are learning to read, especially in Scotland and England. More are becoming interested in reason and science. In Berlin a science academy is created.
1707  By now Cape Town has 1,780 colonists of European descent, predominately Dutch and pursuing farming. Many are using slaves, who number about 1,100, imported from the Spice Islands (Indonesia) Mozambique and Madagascar.
1707  Mount Fuji erupts. Ash floats down on the city of Edo sixty miles to the north.
1708  Charles of Sweden leads his army into Russia, heading for Moscow, for a showdown against Tsar Peter. Charles considers the Russians poor fighters and is optimistic. Peter orders the destruction of all in front of the advancing Swedes that can be of use to them.
1709  The Swedes winter in the warmer Ukraine. In a summer showdown at Poltava the poor quality of the gunpowder used by the Swedes causes their shots to fall short. Russia's artillery cuts the Swedes down. The Swedes flee and many surrender.
1710  Along the Zambezi River in Eastern Africa, the Rozvi emperor allows the Portuguese to maintain a trading post at Zumbo. The Rozvi want to maintain trade with the Europeans and acquire chinaware, beads, umbrellas, brass bells, brandy and other goods.

Give Me a Reason (4/9)
<Part 1>     <Part 2>     <Part 3>
November, 2013
The boy on the ice was new to the Grand Prix series, and it was clear that he wouldn’t be advancing to the final.  His triples were shaky and he wasn’t even attempting a quad.  Not that quads were required, Victor reminded himself.  Just last year he’d taken them out of his programs at Euros on a dare and had still won by a comfortable margin, purely on the strength of a clean skate and high PCS marks.  Yakov had been apoplectic, of course, and had forbidden him from pulling such a stunt at Worlds, but it had honestly been the most fun Victor had had at a competition in years.
The boy – Chulanont, from Thailand – was fun to watch, though.  He danced his program with a cheerfulness that was infectious, and he had the audience clapping along to the music within moments.  A popped triple axel and a two-footed landing on a triple-double combination didn’t seem to bother him in the slightest, though Victor knew he had to be disappointed.  But Chulanont’s spins were solid, and his steps…
Who does that step sequence remind me of, he wondered.  A flash of blue and silver teased at Victor’s memory, crowned in a mop of dark hair.  Oh yes, that Japanese skater. Yuuki something?  Yoshi?  I wonder if Chulanont is his fan.  It bothered him, a little, not to be able to remember the man’s name.  Victor had it written down somewhere in one of his notebooks – he still researched all of the skaters that he shared ice with, Yakov having drilled respect for his competitors into him at an early age – but he didn’t used to need the physical notes the way he did now.  When had the names and faces all started to blur?  I really must be getting old, Victor thought dismally.
Chulanont ended on a slide, his arms outstretched.  He was all smiles as he took his bows, but his eyes gleamed in a way that almost made Victor smile.  He’s determined.  Good.  He’ll take this experience and grow from it.
Victor zoned out during the scoring, already knowing how he’d be judged.  Chulanont had been the last to skate the short program, and he wasn’t close to challenging Georgi’s first place standing.  Georgi’s own skate had been the cleanest Victor had ever seen it, and if he was able to carry that energy over into the free skate they’d be in the Final together for sure, Victor already having secured his own place with a pair of easy golds in Skate Canada and NHK.
Yakov found Victor still sitting in the stands as the crowd was thinning.  “You’re joining us for dinner?” the old coach rumbled.  It was barely a question.  He frowned as Victor shook his head.
“Tonight is Gosha’s, and if I go I’ll just draw attention away from him.”  He sighed with just the right amount of rueful, “what can you do?” disappointment in it.  “I’ll hide in my room and let him enjoy his well-earned spotlight.  Think of me when I’m scrounging scraps from vending machines?”
“Running up the room service bill outrageously, you mean.”  But Yakov’s face had softened into something like fondness.  “It’s true that the fans and the press tend to focus on you whether you skate or not,” he said finally, and Victor knew that he’d won.
It wasn’t that Victor didn’t want to give Georgi the opportunity to shine on his own – of course he did, Gosha had more than earned it – but the real truth was far more selfish. If he went to dinner and someone recognized him – and in Moscow, during Rostelecom, the chances of that happening were pretty damn high – they weren’t just going to ignore Georgi.  They would want, no, insist that he be Living Legend Victor Nikiforov for them, Russia’s Golden God, St. Petersburg’s Hope—
—Victor the Oft Photoshopped, He Whose Shit Is Not Allowed to Stink, Whose Hair Is Discussed More Than His Skating, Subject of Seven Hundred RPF Smut Fics and Supposedly Beloved by All but Actually Having Only a Single (Admittedly Really Great) Dog to Love—
—and he just didn’t want to be that mask.  Not tonight. Not when he didn’t have to be.  Victor the dancing monkey thinks that Victor the Living Legend is an asshole, and just for tonight the dancing monkey is on strike.
Yakov was probably right about the room service bill.

Yuri on Ice Timeline
Tumblr media
Alright, so I spent all last night (literally) checking dates and confirming schedules because I’m in that deep. There’s no saving me now. And I thought I’d go ahead and break down the timeline I have come to the conclusion is as close to YOI canon as possible.
There are gaps where I don’t have information to substantiate what happened - and if and when Season 2 comes out or as I’m going through series 1 with a fine-toothed comb , I should find more I shall add it in.
**Edited 1/14/17 to include new information**
**NOTE: (4/23/17) These dates/years are incorrect, but the order they happened (While not infallible) should be pretty close. We have been given NEW NEW information placing the China Cup in 2015, which shifts everything forward by a year. Let me reiterate that I am not an expert, and that YOI takes place in an alternate universe so as to avoid copyright infringement and lawsuits.**
Speculation will be in Italics.
Alright, so here we go!
----------------------------
December 25,1985 1984: Victor is born!
November 29,1989 1988: Yuuri is Born!
March 1, 1998 Yuri Plisestky is born!
1998 Makkachin is born!
1997 Minami Kenjiro is born!
1991-1997: Yuuri begins skating
Can’t really tell how old he is, but he looks to be somewhere between 4 and 6 years old which is pretty consistent with when skaters start.
2001: Feb 26-March 2 Junior World Championships Sofia, Bulgaria
At 16 Victor Nikiforov wins Gold at the Junior World Championships
2001-2003: Victor continues to compete , Yuuri’s Junior Debut
whether Victor competes at the Junior or Senior level is unclear. A skater can continue to compete at the junior level until the age of 19, after which they must switch to Senior division.
competitors must be at least 13 years old and not older than 19 by July 1 of that year.
However, we can guess that since Yuuri is aiming to skate at Victor’s level, it’s likely that Victor was already competing at the Senior level by the time Yuuri made it to the Juniors.
2003-2005: Victor and Yuuri continue to compete and rise through the ranks
2006: Feb 10-26 Winter Olympics in Turin
Victor potentially competes as an Olympian @ age of 21
Based on Johnny Weir’s career which seems to have heavily influenced Kubo-san’s choices for Victor’s. (Weir didn’t place on the podium, but he participated. Additionally, another potential for Victor’s career - Evgeni Plushenko - competed and won gold in Turin)
2008: December 10-14 Grand Prix Final (Goyang, Korea)
Victor wins his first Grand Prix Final gold medal @ 23 years old
just as an aside - Prize earnings of 272K USD for Senior GPF division
2009: December 2-6 Grand Prix Final (Tokyo, Japan)
Victor wins second consecutive Grand Prix Final Gold Medal @ 24 years old
Yuuri moves to the U.S. to train at a top facility in Detroit, 1st year of College
2010: March 22-28 World Figure Skating Championships (Turin, Italy)
Victor wins first WFSC Gold Medal
2010: December 8-12 Grand Prix Final (Beijing, China)
Victor wins Third consecutive Grand Prix Gold Medal @ 25 years old
Yuuri’s continues to train in Detroit, 2nd year of College
2011: April 25-May1 World Figure Skating Championships (Moscow, Russia)
Victor wins second consecutive WFSC Gold Medal
2011: December 8-11 Grand Prix Final (Quebec, Canada)
Victor wins Fourth consecutive Grand Prix Final Gold Medal @ 26 years old
Yuuri continues to train in Detroit, 3rd year of college
*****2012-2013 Skating Season*****
2012: March 26-April 1 World Figure Skating Championships (Nice, France)
Victor wins 3rd consecutive WFSC Gold Medal
2012: October Southern Regional Championships
Yuuri qualifies for Grand Prix Circuit at Southern Regional Championships
2012: November Grand Prix Final Qualifier Series
Yuuri participates in 2 of the Grand Prix Series Qualifiers, but does not specify which two.
Yuuri places well and qualifies for the Grand Prix Final in Sochi
2012: Dec 6-9 Grand Prix Final, Sochi, Russia
Yuuri competes but falls to last place
Victor wins 5th consecutive Grand Prix Final gold @ 27 years old
Victor qualifies for the Olympic Figure Skating Team for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi
2012: Dec. 20-24 Japanese National Championships
Yuuri suffers another big loss at the Japanese Nationals according to his explanation in episode 1 of how his last year has gone.
Yuuri’s 4th year of college
2013: February 6-11 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships (Osaka)
Yuuri fails to qualify for Four Continents
2013: March 11-17 World Figure Skating Championships London, Quebec, Canada
Yuuri fails to qualify for World Championships
Victor wins 4th consecutive WFSC gold medal
2013 March - July 31 End of 2012-2013 Season
Yuuri makes the decision to take a break from competition and focuses on school.
Yuuri doesn’t imply that he breaks ties with Celestino until after he fails at the 2013 Japanese National Championships (likely due to lack of dedication to skating since his failure at the 2012 Japanese National Championships. Yuuri states that he had lost his love of skating and he was looking to regain that by copying Victor’s routine after returning home in March 2014)
*****2013-2014 Skating Season*****
2013: August beginning of 2013-2014 season
2013: September - Novemer Grand Prix Qualifiers Senior Division
it is implied that Yuuri doesn’t compete during this season
2013: Dec 5-8 Grand Prix Final at Fukuoka, Japan
Victor likely at GPF Fukuoka
2013: Dec 20-23 Japanese National Championships (Saitama, Japan)
Yuri states in episode 5 during the Chugoku, Shikoku, and Kyushu Championship in 2014 that he hadn’t competed since ‘last year’s Nationals’.
This was his last competition before the Hot Springs on Ice Exhibition Skate-off against Yurio.
2014: January 20-26 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships (Taipei)
Nothing Canon Mentioned - some of our international skating friends are probably skating in the Four Continents, though. So there we go.
It’s mostly here to help me keep track of time. It’s a good place-holder.
2014: February 7-23 Winter Olympics (Sochi, Russia)
It is heavily implied that Victor competes as part of the olympic team at the Sochi 2014 olympics. He is shown wearing the uniform at the Sochi GPF, which was a test event for the Sochi Olympic team, and he is wearing it again at the 2014 WFSC.
2014: March Yuuri goes home, Victor competes at World Figure Skating Championships (Saitama, Japan)
Yuuri graduates early March 2014
Breaks off with Coach Celestino Cialdi
Late March (probably 24-30) Returns home to Hasetsu to consider his future
March 24-30 Victor lands 5th consecutive Gold at the World Figure Skating Championships in Saitama, Japan
2014: April Yuuri performs tribute, Victor flies to Japan
Early April, Victor and Yurio return home to St. Petersburg after the WFSC
Yuuri performs his tribute skate for Yuuko at the Ice Palace
April 10th - Triplets post video of Yuuri skating his tribute piece, it goes viral
Some time April 10th or later Victor sees video of Yuuri - applies for Visas and heads off to Japan
Probably late April, Yurio follows Victor to Japan when he finds out where Victor went to make good on a promise the older skater made him.
Late April, possibly May (Depends on how long it took to get the Visas for a long-term stay in Japan for Victor and a short-term for Yurio) - Hot Springs on Ice Skate-off at Hasetsu Castle Ice Palace
Mostly likely end of April - May Yurio loses and heads back to Russia to continue training with Yakov and begins training with Lilya
2014: May - July 31 End of 2013-2014 Skate Season
*****2014-2015 Skating Season*****
2014: August - beginning of 2014-2015 Season. Everyone in hard-core training mode.
Yurio training with Lilya for his Senior Debut
Yuuri training under Victor for Grand Prix Finals and creating ‘Yuri on Ice’ routine
Phichit moves back to Thailand to train
2014: October Southern Regional Championships, Japan Yuuri’s Grand Return
**Note: In episode 1, Yuuri explains that Southern Regional Championships happen in October - maybe this is the actual competition we’re looking at, rather than All-Japan which happens in December and would have made it impossible for Yuuri to qualify for the 2014-2015 Grand Prix Final.
Looking at a map of Japan, it appears that all three prefectures are in the south, so I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that the championship titled  “ The Chugoku, Shikoku, and Kyushu Championship” is referring to the qualifier in October.
Victor’s Debut as Coach
Yuuri Debuts Collaborative Routine choreographed by Victor “Yuri on Ice”
Yuuri places first and qualifies for Grand Prix Circuit
2014: November 7-9 Rostelecom Cup Grand Prix Qualifier Senior Division
Yuuri competes and takes first place
2014: November 13-16 China Cup Grand Prix Qualifier Senior Division
Makkachin chokes on buns and Victor goes back to Japan
Yuuri has meltdown and ends up placing 4th, still qualifies for Grand Prix Final, though only barely managing to squeak in.
Yurio takes 1st place
2014: December 11-14 Grand Prix Finals, Barcelona Spain
Yuuri and Victor get engaged
Yuuri wins Silver at his 2nd Grand Prix Final with Victor as coach
Yurio wins Gold by a mere .12 point difference at his Senior Debut on the professional Grand Prix circiut
Victor announces his return to the competitive circuit for next season
2014: Mid December Yuuri moves to St. Petersburg with Victor
------------ Here is where it all becomes speculation but based on Kubo-san’s adherence to the real life skating championship schedules, here is a list of stuff we may see in Season 2 --------
December 2014-March 2015 Yuuri and Victor training for upcoming WFSC in St. Petersburg with guidance from Yakov
Victor learns how to be a better coach
Victor struggles to get back into competitive condition and create a new routine for the WFSC in just a few months
Yuuri gets world-class instruction from both Victor and Yakov as an assistant coach (You bet Yakov isn’t going to just stand by and let Victor mess up a perfectly good world-class skater out of sheer inexperience as a coach)
Yurio struggles with constant gross-out (omg Dads are embarrassing) BUT finds that fighting spirit and determination to continue to grow as a skater with Victor and Yuuri there to keep his ego in check.
Our boys grow closer together as a couple
Yuuri’s confidence grows as a skater and this late bloomer begins to show tf up. Boy gets TURNT.
Friendly rivaly/ Frenemies relationship between Yuuri and Yurio develops
March 23-29 2015 World Figure Skating Championships, Shanghai China
Victor returns to the ice as competitor and coach
Yuuri competes for the first time at the same level as Victor
We see a return of several skaters which may include Giacometi and Seong-gil, as we saw them in the 2014 World Figure Skating Championships placing 2nd and 3rd behind Victor.
Yurio likely also competing (expect shenanigans) - if he isn’t competing he’ll likely be there to heckle at the very least.
April - August 2015 Hardcore Training and Prep for the Grand Prix Final 2014-2015 season
October - November GPF Qualifiers Senior Division
Oct 23-25 Skate America Oct 30-Nov 1 Skate Canada Nov 6-8 Cup of China Nov 13-15 Eric Lumbard France  Nov 20-22 Rostelecom Cup Russia Nov 27-29 NHK Trophy
Our boys struggle against a super busy schedule and potentially having to be apart while they both compete in qualifiers.
We get confirmation that they are incapable of surviving without each other.
December 10-13 Grand Prix Final Barcelona Spain
I expect to see all three of our boys at the GPF.
The REAL Dance-off Battle begins
Yuuri wins Gold against some probably staggering odds.
Marriage Proposal On The Ice - world figure skating fandom explodes
Nose bleeds and bodies everywhere
((and then we hit utter fantasy ... ))
2016 World Figure Skating Championships
Victor has retired as competitive skater - takes up full-time coaching
Yuuri competing as top-ranking skater
Yurio still grossed out
2016 Grand Prix Final Marsielle
Pep talk for Minami Kenjirou for his first Grand Prix Final

What is the proper way to repaint a brand new car? Insurance question...?
I recently had my car damaged in one of our Texas storms. It caused about $4000 in damage to the entire left side, hood, and both bumpers, and knocked out two windows. I just got my car back from the insurance suggested body shop and I can still see where many of the rock marks were painted over. There are divets in the paint in a lot of spots, which is better than the metal that was showing before, but not how I want it. My question is, shouldn't they have completely sanded down the areas of the car that needed to be repainted instead of just painting over the paint nicks? The car is a 2006 Mustang that is practically brand new. Maybe I am wrong, but shouldn't the insurance company be fixing the car to the PERFECT condition it was in before it was damaged?""

I am 17 now, I am taking my driver's test in about a week. My boyfriend said that when he got his licence he was automatically added to his mom and dad's car insurance. No one in the house has a car, or car insurance, and my birth mother doesn't have any custody of me but she does have car insurance, and my birth father has half custody of me, and he has car insurance. What effect does not being at fault in an automobile collision have on your insurance premium?
Doesn't the cost go up any way?
How do I challenge my auto insurance company's appraisal of damages to other car in an at-fault(my) acci ?
I read-ended another car at an intersection. Both of us were stopped at a light. When the light turned green, the other car started moving and immediately slammed on brakes. In the meanwhile, I had taken my foot off brake and hit the car (at < 5mph). The other party has filed claim for $1350 for damages and also for unknown amount of bodily injury. There is not even a mark of any collision on my car (as the speed was low). My insurance company has agreed to their claim related to damages and is waiting for the exact amount for the bodily injury claim. This has been quite unfair to me and will definitely bump up my premium like crazy. Is there any way I can challenge my insurance company's appraisal of the damages ? Are there any other alternatives ? What kind of evidence would I need to furnish for the same ? We had called a Cop to report the accident. I wanted him to note that the impact was at < 5mph. However, he refused to do that saying that this would be left to insurance""
To get maturnity insurance or not?
I am currently 29 years old and just recently married. I have come to a decision I have to make on my health insurance. I am not planning on getting pregnant for at least the next 2 years. But it is still possible to get pregnant on the pill, but highly unlikely. So my question is do I take it to be on the safe side or waive it until it gets closer to that time. Money is tight and I hate to sink money into something I will hopefully not need. Any views on the situation would be much appreciated. Thnx.""
Will it be cheaper to pay the $1000 fine for not having insurance then to purchase insurance?
There is no incentive to buy insurance...just a whip if you don't. Maybe a small example; Dude and his girlfriend, who voted for Obama, are a young couple living in an apartment. They own an old car that they are always trying to keep running and Dude has bounced off of a couple of jobs while his girlfriend is looking for a part-time that she can hold on to. They can't afford the payments on a new car or health insurance. Dude gets a new job but time is running out. It's coming up on tax return time and they NEED that f'n money! But it's too late...they are going to lose the whole tax return to fines now and will owe more for the fines than the tax returns were going to be anyway...so they buy insurance and wonder how they are going to pay the rent, much less eat.""

Why are republicans fighting the health insurance mandate and not fighting the car insurance mandate?
If you have to buy car insurance and get penalized for driving without car insurance, whats the difference here? Its as much a privilege to drive as it is to receive healthcare. However no one thinks its an over reach of government to mandate car insurance. When you get in a car accident with an uninsured driver you have to pay for your own damage, so how different is it then when americans use the public healthcare system, the government has to use TAX DOLLARS to pay for their health care. Also why is it being categorized as a Government Takeover of Healthcare ? If I buy health insurance wouldnt it be more like a Privatization of Healthcare seeing that instead of having vast amounts of tax dollars going into the system, the health system would now be funded by the insurance companies by paying out claims.""
