Leave You Wanting More — Morticia Addams
Tumblr media
Summary: After you caught her eye, Morticia pays you a less than innocent visit in your dreams.
Word Count: 1,342
Warnings: Unresolved sexual tension, biting/marking, suggestive but no actual smut
Tumblr media
You found yourself in a familiar place, yet it was not your own. The air was thick, charged, like the calm before a thunderstorm. Shadows danced along the walls, and the moon cast a silvery glow through the tall windows of a grand, gothic mansion. It felt vivid, more real than any dream you'd had before, but a dream nonetheless.
The scent of roses and something dark, almost intoxicating, filled the air before you even saw her. Morticia Addams appeared, as if conjured from the shadows themselves. Draped in her signature black gown, her movements were fluid, deliberate, like a predator stalking its prey.
"You've been on my mind," she said, her voice low and velvet soft, tickling your senses. She stepped closer, her presence making the room shrink around you. Her hand hovered near your cheek, her nails long, sharp, but she didn't touch you…yet. The tension between you crackled, almost unbearable.
"This...this is just a dream," you whispered, more to reassure yourself than anything else. You'd admired Morticia from afar, her elegance, her mystery, but she had always seemed untouchable. And yet, here she was, standing impossibly close, her breath mingling with yours.
"Is it," she purred, her lips curving into a knowing smile. She leaned in, her fingers ghosting over your arm, and a shiver shot down your spine. "Dreams can be so...revealing."
Her hand trailed down to your wrist, her touch still light, teasing, but every nerve in your body ignited under her fingertips. She tilted her head slightly, her lips brushing your neck, not quite a kiss, more of a promise of one. Your breath hitched, the sensation of her so real, so visceral, that it was hard to remember it was all in your head.
Her fingers curled around your wrist, nails biting in just enough to leave faint impressions on your skin. Her lips parted, grazing your skin again, but this time there was more pressure, a hint of teeth. You exhaled sharply, your hands instinctively finding her waist, but you hesitated, unsure of what was real and what wasn't.
"You feel that," she murmured, her lips still at your neck, her hand sliding down your arm to rest at your hip. "Dreams don't often leave marks."
Your heart pounded in your chest, a mixture of desire and confusion clouding your mind. Her touch was a slow burn, each lingering caress drawing you closer, making it harder to separate the fantasy from reality. She pressed closer, her body aligning with yours, and you could feel her breath against your ear, warm, tempting.
"I must say," Morticia whispered, her voice dripping with amusement. A dark little chuckle escaped her lips. "You wear your longing well." Her fingers traced your collarbone before skimming lower, and when she bit down lightly, playfully, and your body responded with a jolt, heat flooding your veins.
You gasped, caught between wanting more and wanting to wake up from this surreal encounter if only to be able to catch your breath. Her hands, her mouth, left an undeniable trail of sensations across your skin. You couldn't see the marks she left behind, but you could feel them. There were small scratches, bite marks, each one tingling with a dull ache that felt far too real for a dream.
She pulled back slightly, her dark eyes locking onto yours, holding you captive. There was a smug satisfaction in her gaze, as if she knew exactly the effect she was having on you.
"Tell me, darling," she whispered, "do you still think this is merely a dream?"
Her lips hovered over yours, and your breath hitched again, caught between wanting to close the gap and the nagging realization that something about this was too real, too intense. Her fingers curled into the fabric of your clothes, her nails grazing your skin just hard enough to send a delicious spark of pain through your senses.
Before you could answer, before you could even catch your breath, Morticia stepped back, her gaze never leaving yours. You blinked, disoriented by her sudden distance, and she smiled.
"Goodnight, my dear," she purred, all slow and sultry. Satisfied with the state she was leaving you in, she turned away, disappearing into the shadows she’d emerged from.
You woke with a start, your heart racing, your bedsheets tangled around your legs. Your body still thrummed with the lingering touch of her hands, the faintest traces of her nails on your skin. You reached for your neck, your wrist, half expecting to find the marks she left behind.
And there they were…tiny, faint, but undeniable.
Your dreams had often been vivid, but nothing like this. Even now, with the morning light creeping in through the curtains, your senses were still on fire. You sat up in bed, pulling the blankets closer, your mind racing through what had happened. The feeling of her nails, her lips, lingered as if she'd only just left. Every part of you that she'd touched still tingled, her phantom caresses refusing to fade with the waking world.
A quick glance at your wrist, where you felt her nails the deepest, showed small crescent shaped indentations. You rubbed at them, your heart stuttering at the undeniable evidence that you hadn't just imagined it. You could still feel her, like she’d truly embedded herself under your skin, reminding you that Morticia Addams had found you in your most vulnerable state and left her mark.
Shaking your head, you rose from the bed, trying to focus on the mundane details of your day. But as you dressed, the ache of those marks, the sensations her touch caused, refused to leave you alone.
Later that night, the dream returned, only this time, you were more prepared. The mansion, the heavy scent of roses, the thick, charged air. It was all as it had been. And so was she. Morticia appeared just as she had before, her form gliding through the shadows with a grace that was almost inhuman.
"You returned," she said as though the knowledge pleased her.
"Is it really you," you found yourself asking, the question barely a whisper. "Or just...another dream?"
Her dark eyes gleamed, a smile playing on her lips as she circled you, her hand trailing lightly across your back. "Does it matter, darling," she asked, each word like honey dripping into your ears.
You wanted to tell yourself it didn't. You wanted to surrender to whatever this was. But the more you felt her touch, the deeper the tension grew, the more desperate you became for an answer. Her hands slid over your arms, your waist, and she tugged you close, just close enough for you to feel her breath, her heartbeat as she leaned into you.
"I can't...I can't tell if it's real," you breathed out, though your body betrayed you by arching toward her, craving more contact, more certainty.
Morticia smirked, her lips grazing your ear as she spoke, "You'll find reality and dreams blend seamlessly when one knows how to control both."
Her words made your breath catch, and before you could think, her lips were on your neck again, this time with more force, more intent. Your hands grasped her arms, nails digging in as you tried to ground yourself, the sensation overwhelming you. The her nails found their way back to your skin, dragging lightly down your back, leaving a delicious sting that made you gasp.
The need to touch her back, to feel if she was real in your hands, consumed you. But when you reached for her, she pulled away, a wicked smile dancing on her lips.
"You see, my dear," she whispered, her fingers trailing down your cheek, "this was no mere dream. It never was. If you just give yourself over, I can show you pleasure beyond any you could ever dream up." As you prepared yourself to do just that, the moment was gone, and Morticia with it. Next time then, you promised yourself. Next time you’d be ready.

Mother Larissa x Daughter reader
summary-Y/n is a bright young girl, who was left by her normie parents when the found out y/n was different, yet y/n was found by a smart kind women, who took her in...part one
Tw- abandonment, fainting, panic attack (small)

───────────────────
Flash back 5 years ago.
"Momma where we going?" Young y/n asked, at only 5 years old y/n was extremely observant, and bright. Yet when y/n's parents notice a small change, well a big change. Flowers, y/n would act different around plants for sure but the fact that emotions now got tied into it was drawing the lines for her parents.......
Recently y/n had a nightmare, when her mother came to check on her the door was locked shut by thick vines taking all the older women's power to get into that room, when y/n's mother got in she would try not wake y/n up muffling the scream which escaped the older women, she was terrified of her own daughter, the vines had came in to protect young y/n from her mind yet this time they've gone to far for y/n's normal parents.
That's night y/n's parents left her alone in her bedroom sitting down themselves to talk about their options with their daughter. Wondering what to do with this monstrosity of a child.
"She's not normal, what kid grows plants outa their ass, she could've hurt you! Or the baby" y/n's father snapped acknowledging his wife's pregnancy with their second child who was becoming their main focus, he was standing up in the living room pacing back and forth while y/n's mother didn't spare him a glance looking into information
"i got it!....Nevermore Academy, Vermont" y/n's mother spat clicking onto the website for more information
"it's meant for 'outcast', so I'm assuming whatever y/n is becoming?" Her mother said to her father waiting for his response
"Let's pack her things" is all he said before going off to make the traveling plans, you didn't live super close to Vermont but still it was only a 4 hour drive from Albany, your home well at least you thought at the time.
Y/n was once her parents everything, their actual pride and joy, yet with the new baby and these abilities they jumped at the opportunity to push y/n away.
The next day came with a jolt for y/n, the young child woke up in a rush to clean up what was left of the vines unknowing to her that her parents had seen, y/n would go in her day like normal, playing with toys and even going outside for a few hours, until around 8pm, when y/n's father packed the car for the trip, a small bag for y/n. Before telling her to get in the car.
"Momma where we going?" Y/n asked about 30 minutes into the ride.
"Shhh peanut, just take a nap, it's passed your bed time" was y/n's mother response.
Surprisingly the young one was content with that response, maybe due to being so tired from the past restless nights, yet y/n laid down in the backseat, to rest, ignoring the idea of a child safety seat.
Y/n was shaken awake by her father, he didn't hold much emotion to the plan y/n's parents agreed on. While on the contrary her mother didn't spare her a glance she couldn't, not mentally but they didn't see a better choice.
Y/n was still dazed recently being awoken at the last hours of the night almost striking midnight, y/n's father pulled their young child from the car, leading them to a large deep blue gate which read "Nevermore Academy"
"Stay here y/n, I'm gonna go get momma" y/n's father lied threw his teeth handing y/n the small faded pink duffel bag, before walking off like it was normal.
When y/n heard the car start she was confused, yet she stayed put as her father ordered...
Seconds turned into minutes
Minutes turned into hours
And there y/n sat, eventually falling asleep in the mild weather of a Vermont night.
Larissa weems was a well respected woman, she ran Nevermore Academy with ease. It was the early hours of the morning around 5, Larissa was making a cup of tea when the night staff came to her with information about a small child sleeping on the school grounds.
"Well what did you do with the child?" Weems asked confused with the small amount of information.
"Umm Nothing ma'am" security responded leaving Larissa shocked
"You left a small child outside sleeping on the school grounds?" Larissa spat standing up to go to the gates herself, it was idiotic to leave a child sleeping outside no matter what or who that child was.
Larissa Walked outside heading towards the gate as the sunrise peaked, the pink and orange would glow bright, as Weems reached the gate she was met with what Nevermore's security described. A small girl laying on a faded pink duffel bag hiding in the bushes next to the gate.
Weems walked closer to the girl, making her way threw the gate over to the child lying on the ground. Softly shaking the young girl watching her jolt awake.
"Momma?" Was the first word out of y/n's mouth while she looked frantically left and right for her mother, only to be met with a tall, platinum blonde well put together women.
"Shh shh calm down can you tell me your name daring?" Weems asked the young girl
"Y/n...it's y/n" she replied to the older women yet the young one was still frantic
"They left me...they left" was all y/n said and she repeated it over and over.
"Who left darling. I need you to tell me so I can help"
"Momma and dad they are gone" y/n responded which clicked in weems head, this young girl was left by her parents, abandon in a bush, she's never had a case like this, but she knew she could handle it
"Why don't you come with me into that huge building?" Larissa pushed pointing at the castle like structure before reaching out to help the young girl up.
By now nevermore was busy with students running the halls getting to their morning classes, which was completely shocking to y/n along with being intimidating. Weems didn't let students bother her at this moment, heading straight to her office, opening the door and holding it for y/n to make her way into the office.
"Why don't we sit on the sofa over there and talk a bit" weems said sitting down letting y/n sit on the other end while she asked for some more information.
Larissa actually did find out quite a bit of information about the small girl. She was left by her parents last night, she is only 5 years old, it's was disgusting that her parents left her alone outside at 5 years old. Y/n seemed like a sweet young child the idea of abandoning her at a boarding school was confusing to say the very least.
"Y/n how about you stay here for a bit, until we find your family? Sound like a plan" weems offered, gaining a nod from young y/n yet weems had no idea how to find the small girls parents, but she could give her a home until she did, y/n was a bit to young for nevermore classes but weems was experience enough in childcare to watch a young kid for some time.
Little did weems know, this little girl would become her own.
5 years later (now)
"Y/n honey come here" weems yelled up the steps in her apartment, which was still on nevermore campus, today was y/n's first day attending nevermore as a student, she was already well known, as the headmistresses daughter, yet today not only was school stressing her out but it's been 5 years since she was left by her birth givers in a bush, and since she was here she hasn't had any issues with plants or growing vines, and didn't even mention that faded part of her past to her mom, and those ex-parents y/n once had where nowhere to be seen, or heard from, now y/n has been very well loved, weems wouldn't even think of the idea that y/n wasn't her daughter, she raised her, loved and cared for her, and everyday weems tried to show her love.
It was the start of the 2nd trimester at nevermore due to y/n's birthday. This was the earliest she could start, yet weems like any mother helped her get to her first class before leaving her to be a kid.
Clases went as normal, y/n took basic first year clases and didn't exceptionally well, that was until botany, her final class of the day, plant based class.
Walking into the class y/n was overwhelmed with all the plants, which was something she's been avoiding subtly for her whole time here, y/n felt a serge of energy being surrounded by the plants, taking her seat in the class as it filled up, being sat next to a bubbly student known as Enid Sinclair, she was kind, but a little too much for young y/n. As the class started professor Thornhill explained todays experiment
Each student was given a small baby weed like plant, and a small bottle of a plant growth serum, the goal was to give just the right amount so that the plant could sprout a flower, y/n watched as everyone did the experiment around her before, picking up the vile and dropper going to drop the serum into the plant. Yet something felt different, as y/n reached out and thought about the plant growing, it shot up her arm, vines sprouting from the small plant, wrapping over and over on y/n slowly reaching to her neck.
Thornhill was in shock even if a student did the experiment wrong the worst I could happen was a bush may grow not this plant attacking the students, y/n was terrified before breathing and trying to pull into control enough energy to control the plant into going back to its natural state. Y/n was able to do it but it took all the young ones energy, leading her to pass out, students all froze staring at y/n while the professor was calling the nurse to come get y/n
.
.
.
Waking up in the nurses office wasn't ideal for the first day, what really wasn't ideal was her mother standing right above her.
"Y/n darling are you alright? What happened" weems asked bending down to her daughters level, confused on what she'd been told, y/n couldn't have powers she was just a girl left behind, right?
Y/n panicked she didn't wanna spill her secret she didn't wanna be left again, she couldn't handle being left again, it took y/n a very long time to trust weems alone, she couldn't handle having to find a new home...again?
"Y/n i need to know what happened?" Weems pressed her daughter not cause she was nosey but honestly the women was worried about her daughter, but weems realized y/n wouldn't open up, not when they were in the nurses office with people around, leading weems to lift y/n out of the nursing cot and heading off to their corders.
Setting y/n down on the sofa in their living room area, allowing the small girl to breathe before Larissa pressed for information
"Y/n, my darling please tell me what happened?"
"The plants and I are connected, I've been able to manipulate plants since I was 3, but after my birth givers found out, they left me, y/n hiccuped trying to stop her sobs... I didn't want you to leave me" was all y/n could get out before breaking down. weems was quick to wrap her arms around y/n.
"My darling, I would never leave you. You are my little flower. Forever" larissa whispered into her daughter ear still holding y/n close for as long as that little girl needed....
And that little faded pink duffel bag still never moved....Part 2 is coming 😏

She didn’t know when it started. She had never really stopped to think about it before and now it seemed like it came out of nowhere for her. Deep down he knew that wasn’t true, that part of him had always felt like this and he just ended up ignoring it, like he ignored all of his feelings.

The Addams Family: The Bodies Issue by Zoë Quinn and Philip Murphy. Cover by Chynna Clugston Flores. Out in August.
"Wednesday Addams doesn't feel like she fits in anywhere. Not even at home after she discovers a beauty magazine in her Uncle Fester's room that tells her all about how she should look and act. It doesn't keep her down for long, however, as she quickly realizes that rather than change herself, it would be more fun to make over her family and force them to accept the societal norms they all normally reject. Reprinting the IDW one-shot, this spin-off from the animated The Addams Family movie features all your favorite characters, including Gomez, Morticia, Pugsley, Lurch, Thing… and, of course, Wednesday. Featuring a new macabre cover by Chynna Clugston Flores (Blue Monday), this kicks off a whole new run of comics featuring the creepy, kooky, altogether spooky Addams Family!"

My Masterlist
Word Count: 12.3K (what’s a word count?)
The sound of children laughing rang throughout the woods on a crisp fall morning. The trees were beautiful vibrant colors that painted the landscape with shades of fiery red, golden yellow, and earthly orange. The crisp air that one could taste in their lungs carried a gentle rustling of fallen leaves while the scent of decaying foliage filled the atmosphere. The ground was adorned with a carpet of fallen leaves that created a soft crunch when the two children ran through the serene woodland.
Even though one child chased the other with a small ax, the two had the same fun. The one with the ax was a taller girl with jet-black twin braids who wore all-black clothing, expert for her white collar shirt. She wore a giant smile on her face as she chased her best friend, Y/N.
You were shorter than Wednesday but had just as much fire in you as Wednesday did. Where Wednesday’s eyes were as black as night, you had a gray and green eye that you used to hide behind sunglasses until Wednesday told you they were the most beautiful things in the world, “You shouldn’t hide what separates you from others, Y/N. Especially if it makes you all the more beautiful.”
You wore brighter colors than Wednesday, but you both shared a love for darkness. You were nothing without Wednesday, just as Wednesday was nothing without you.
The two made an odd pair, but one was never seen without the other. There were times when Morticia had to pry her daughter away from you to find that you had snuck back over sometime in the moonlight. Whenever Wednesday would practice her cello, she would invite you to play the piano, and together you two would create the most heavenly sound that would make angels cry. The contrast was there, but they fit together like puzzle pieces.
As they ran through the woods, you tripped on a small branch and fell to the ground, causing worry to overtake Wednesday as she sprinted to the fallen girl. “Are you alright, Y/N?” Wednesday asked as she knelt beside her friend, but her worry quickly disappeared when you sprang up and tackled her to the ground. You removed the ax from the taller girl’s grasp and held it to her neck. “I appear to be the victor,” you said with a giant smile contrasting Wednesday’s grim expression.
Wednesday leaned up and shoved you off her as she stood up and brushed herself off. “That’s hardly a win; you cheated,” Wednesday replied dryly as she helped you off the ground.
“I might have cheated, but you’re still the loser,” you shot back while standing up. You lived for the playful banter with Wednesday and would rather lose your tongue than go without annoying Wednesday for a day. You handed Wednesday the ax back so she could be the Hunter again, and she placed it in its holster on her hip.
As you two were getting ready to start a new game, a voice rattled the trees around you, “Wednesday! Y/N! Time to come home!” The two shared a look and rolled their eyes simultaneously; they both hated it when Morticia ruined their fun, but they started their walk back to the house nonetheless.
As they walked, Wednesday felt bold and pulled you into a headlock and brought the smaller girl’s head against her ribcage. You didn’t even have time to protest before you felt Wednesday’s knuckles dig into your scalp. You squirmed against Wednesday’s hold, but it was useless; the taller girl was stronger than you. So, you did what any sane person would do; you bit down on Wednesday’s forearm that was keeping you in place. Not enough to hurt the assailant, but just enough to let go of you. And just as you predicted, Wednesday let go of you and grabbed the area that the smaller girl just bit. “Why did you do that?” Wednesday questioned as she rubbed her arm back and forth.
“Uh, because I can?” You retorted as you motioned with her hand, giving Wednesday an attitude that the other girl scoffed at. “Let us go, my compact companion; we have tasks at hand,” Wednesday said as she grabbed your hand, and the two ran back to the Addams’ residence together.
“You have to stop calling me that,” you whined. Wednesday had her collection of names to call you, and the shorter girl hated them.
“It’s not my fault you’re shorter than me; blame your genetics,” Wednesday replied with a dry tone but a slight smile that caused you to smile once you saw it. Wednesday never smiled at anyone except you; Wednesday made a lot of exceptions for the more petite girl, even though she would never admit it.
When they arrived at the mansion, both girls were out of breath as Morticia came outside to greet them. “Hello, my little doves. Did you two enjoy the hunt?” Wednesday’s mother asked them as they went inside and took off their shoes.
“Yes, Mrs. Addams, I always have fun with Wens. She’s the best,” you breathlessly replied as you followed Wednesday up to her room.
Morticia was always fond of you; she loved how her morbid daughter seemed to light up when she was around you, and she knew that her daughter could always rely on and trust you. But all great things must come to an end.
Wednesday held her bedroom door open for you as they entered. The room was dark and cold, but it had character, like Wednesday. There were two giant windows that Wednesday always kept covered on the opposite wall of the door. There were collections of knives hung up on the walls, and the shelves were littered with bookshelves, and in the corner of the room was a cello right next to Y/N’s piano. A small fireplace was built into the wall and had a black, round table in front of it that sat only two. A black bed was in the center of the room with its headboard against the wall, and at the end of the bed was a small bed bench that was purple, Y/N’s favorite color. Above Wednesday’s bed were two swords mounted onto the ceiling; one had a black handle with the purple initials of W.A. etched into the ricasso, while the other had a purple handle with your initials engraved in black. You found the swords a bit odd, but according to Wednesday, it made her feel like Damocles.
You messed with the record player beside the fireplace and put on your favorite record. Soon, the upbeat saxophone of ‘Bop’ by Dan Seals filled the room. Wednesday rolled her eyes when she saw you recreate John Travolta’s ‘Twist’ dance from Pulp Fiction.
I want to bop with you, baby, all night long
I want to be-bop with you, baby, till the break of dawn
I want to bop with you, baby, all night long
“Come on, Wens. You know you wanna dance with me,” You said as you started making the swimming motion from the dance. Finding that she could never say no to Y/N, Wednesday rolled her eyes again before copying Uma Thurman’s dance to match you. When Wednesday did the snorkel dance move, you laughed at the taller girl’s awkwardness, and Wednesday smiled at the thought of making you laugh.
Out of breath, the two finished the dance, and they both had giant smiles as their eyes copied their lips. “Shall we dance again, my fair lady?” You asked as she stuck out your hand and slightly bowed.
“You’re exhausting,” Wednesday stated but took your hand and allowed the girl to spin her.
Twenty minutes had passed when the clock on the fireplace dinged, telling Wednesday it was time to walk Nero. “It’s time for me to walk Nero, but I will see you when I get back,” Wednesday stated as she moved toward the area that was reserved for Nero and got him out of his cage, and put him on his leash.
The three walked down the front door together and left the house together. “See you in a minute,” you said as you walked away from Wednesday. The taller girl sent you a small wave as she walked toward town with Nero.
You arrived home and did what you usually did when Wednesday was away; you waited. You knew Wednesday’s schedule to the tee: wake up at six, morning torture with Pugsley at six-thirty, breakfast at seven-thirty, play with Y/N at eight until her walk with Nero at ten-thirty, come back at eleven and practice her cello with Y/N until twelve-thirty and have lunch at twelve-thirty five. The hours between one and three were filled with any ‘spontaneous activities’ Wednesday might want to do, and at four, she read until five, had dinner at six, and did nightly torturing with Pugsley (or Y/N if you consented) at six-thirty until bedtime at eight-thirty.
So when you checked the clock and saw it was ten-thirty-five, you left her house and skipped to Wednesday’s. As you approached the house, there was a sudden shift in the air, and you could taste it on your lips: death had arrived. You cautiously walked up the stairs and knocked on the door, something you never did. You were always around Wednesday so much that Morticia told you that you didn’t need to knock anymore as she could ‘sense’ the girl’s presence.
When the door opened, you knew that something had happened; you just hoped that Wednesday was okay. Gomez was standing before you with a grim expression as he ushered you in. Your eyes landed on a weeping Wednesday, and your heart broke. You moved to sit next to the goth girl and opened your arms, and Wednesday immediately hugged you and buried her face in the crook of your neck. You rubbed her best friend’s back as she continued crying; you didn’t know what to do, but you only knew that you wanted to be with Wednesday.
The following day, Wednesday had a funeral for Nero, and no one but Y/N could attend. The two girls shed a tear as they both placed a flower on his grave, and you comforted Wednesday once more. Later that night, in Wednesday’s room, Wednesday had allowed you to sleep in bed with her. The two girls were cuddled together, staring at the swords above them, when Wednesday broke the silence, “You are far too dear to me, Y/N. The pain I have felt the past two days is something I never want to experience again, and I certainly do not wish to experience it all over again because of you.”
“Don’t worry, Wednesday. You’re stuck with me till life do us part,” you replied as you hugged your best friend, never wanting to lose the girl.
At just six years old, Wednesday had lost her beloved pet and experienced grief for the first time, and she knew that she would have to grieve every single person in her life at some point. So that night, she made a vow; never to be close enough to someone where she would shed a tear because of their death, and that meant letting go of who she loved most: Y/N.
At first, it was very subtle: Wednesday would smile less around you, and she would spend less time working with you on your music. It was so subtle that no one but you noticed, and it hurt you. Then, more significant things began to happen; Wednesday would purposely fill her schedule with things to do that didn’t involve you, and when you two did hang out, she made sure to try and distance herself from you. And then it all came crashing down on Wednesday’s seventh birthday.
You had a small box in your hand as you walked up the steps to the front door of the Addams mansion and knocked, patiently waiting for someone to open the door. Only a few seconds had passed before Morticia opened the door and towered over the small child. “Hello, my darling. Wednesday is in the greenhouse,” Morticia said as she stood aside and let you into the house before shutting the door.
“Thank you, Mrs. Addams. I haven’t seen her in a couple of days, so I hope she won’t be angry,” you innocently said as you ignored the pain in her heart that Morticia seemed to pick up on.
Eager to change the subject in fear of you becoming sad, Morticia asked as she led you to the greenhouse, “I’ve already told you that you can stop calling me ‘Mrs. Addams,’ My child, so why do you continue?”
You shrugged your shoulders at the comment. You didn’t know why you still spoke to the woman in a formal tone, but it felt weird on your tongue to call her anything else. “I don’t know, I think it’s a respect thing for me,” you replied as you opened the door to the greenhouse. Morticia nodded at the child’s words before whispering, “Have fun with my little death trap.”
You smiled at Morticia’s words as you entered the greenhouse. You knew precisely where Wednesday would be and didn’t pretend to look for the goth girl.
Wednesday was cutting black roses from their stem when she heard soft footsteps behind her. She didn’t bother turning around; she could recognize those footsteps in the crowd of a thousand people. “What are you doing here, YN?” Wednesday asked in a dry tone that caused you to stiffen.
“It’s your birthday, and I wanted to give you something,” you said as you approached Wednesday and set the box next to her. “I know you love your birthday, as it is one more year closer to your death, so here’s your present to celebrate.”
Wednesday gave the more petite girl a suspicious look before putting down the rose and scissors and picking up the box. It was unnaturally light, so she doubted it was a weapon or bomb. She slowly took the lid off the box, and any words died on the tip of her tongue once she realized what it was.
It was a small, black, crocheted scorpion that took you hours to make. She also saw a small note underneath the scorpion, but she didn’t pick it up as her vision became red.
She didn’t know why she was angry. All Wednesday knew was that she wanted you gone. “Get out,” Wednesday hissed as she set the box down and grabbed a knife from her boot.
“What? Why?” You asked as you slowly backed up from Wednesday as your eyes fell on the knife. Of course, Wednesday would make the occasional threats, but you had never believed them; until now.
“Friends are nothing but liabilities, and they only hold me back. So. Get. Out.” Wednesday repeated as she backed you against a small flower pot. She no longer had control over her emotions, and every second she spent with you only seemed to anger her more.
“Wednesday, please. I didn’t mean to upset you. I thought you would have liked the gift. Please, I’m your best friend, and I-” Any words you were about to say got caught in your throat as Wednesday brought the knife up, cutting a straight line on your left eye. The cut was three inches below your eye and an inch above it.
The two stood there in disbelief as neither could believe what happened. Only when blood started pouring out of your cut, and you collapsed onto the floor did Wednesday do something; she called out for her mother’s help for the first and only time as she held you in her eyes, trying her best to fight back tears.
Morticia ran out to the greenhouse and instantly scooped you into her arms as she yelled for Gomez. The man came burling down the stairs and could not contain his tears as she saw your blood-covered state.
The couple quickly rushed you to the hospital, and once you were checked into the ER, the couple notified your parents. They arrived within ten minutes of the phone call, and they were everything but calm, from questioning how Morticia and Gomez allowed this to happen to demanding that Wednesday be punished.
The two sets of parents seemed to be at each other’s throats while Wednesday tried her best to disappear. She felt nothing but guilt for hurting her Y/N, and she wanted to do everything possible to make it up to the girl. So when Wednesday got her chance to see you, she practically sprinted into your room.
You were lying in a hospital with the entire left side of your face bandaged up, and Wednesday could see some blood seeping through. Wednesday slowly approached the bed and gently grabbed your hand. As if repulsed by the touch, you quickly pulled your hand away from Wednesday’s and brought it to your chest. You glared at Wednesday with your right eye before hissing, “Get out.”
“No, Y/N, you don’t understand-” Wednesday started but was quickly cut off by Y/N.
“I’m nothing but a liability to you, Wednesday, so leave,” you said as you crossed your arms and looked away from Wednesday, refusing to cry in front of the taller girl. ‘I think I’ll miss you forever; like the stars miss the sun in the morning skies,’ you thought as you watched your best friend leave.
Wednesday nodded her head and slowly walked to the door, and turned to face you one last time. “Please don’t ever become a stranger whose laugh I could recognize anywhere.”
You were once her crown, and now she was in exile seeing you out. She gave you so many warning signs, but you never learned to read her mind.
When she left the hospital, she felt nothing but shame and guilt that filled her body the entire car ride back home. She cleaned the blood off the floor before going to her room, where she sobbed for the second and last time.
School was different after that happened; the former best friends refused to meet each other’s gaze and soon found that their previous partnership turned into rivalry, constantly competing to be number one. It was an unfair competition, as Wednesday was more naturally gifted than you, and she seemed to beat you at everything, but you refused to give you. You would spend hours perfecting your craft, and when it came time for the archery competition, you beat Wednesday by a single point. Any chance for friendship was ruined when you accepted the first-place trophy and sent Wednesday an evil glare when she was awarded her second-place trophy.
Their rivalry continued like this for numerous years, always for captain for a particular activity or number one in their grade, but just as before, you always seemed to fall short. It continued for three years until you suddenly stopped showing up for school.
Wednesday believed that she had beaten you so far into the ground that you decided to stop coming to school. But after two weeks had passed and Wednesday had not seen her former best friend, she became curious and decided to stop by your house.
Only when Wednesday saw the ‘for sale’ sign in your yard, she allowed herself to be swallowed by guilt. She had pushed you too far in their competition for first and had made you move. Wednesday realized that she might never see her Y/N again, and regret flooded her mind as she slept on the purple bed bench with your sword in her arms.

“I think we are getting a new student today, and I'm totes excited!” Enid exclaimed as she skipped to Wednesday’s side of the room. The last person to arrive at Nevermore Academy was Wednesday herself, so naturally, Enid was ecstatic to meet someone new.
“You know I do not care for new faces who share the same boring personalities as everyone else here,” Wednesday mumbled while she typed on her type-writer.
Enid huffed at Wednesday’s remark before glancing at her roommate’s work. Wednesday noticed the action and quickly sent an elbow into Enid’s side, causing the girl to groan in pain. “You also know I hate it when you try to read my work. I have no idea why you keep trying to read anything; you know the result,” Wednesday stated as she continued typing.
“Whatever. Just humor me for a moment,” Enid said as she put some space between her and Wednesday, avoiding any elbows that might be sent her way. “I will not humor you but continue.”
“So, from what my sources tell me, she’s from Italy, not like the normal part of Italy, but the mob part!” Enid informed while using her hands to talk.
“Enid, just because someone is from Sicily doesn’t mean they are in the mob. And if she is, I would like to interrogate her about it; it could add a new element to my novel,” Wednesday said.
The brighter girl walked to her side of the room and grabbed her phone. When she picked it up, she made an obnoxious sound before sprinting to Wednesday. “She’s here Wednesday. You have to come and meet her!” Enid exclaimed as she lightly pulled on Wednesday’s arm, causing her to receive a death glare, but she allowed herself to be drawn from her seat.
The two quickly walked down the stairs and arrived at Weems’ office. “Why are we standing creepily outside Weems’ office?” Wednesday questioned as she glanced over her shoulder at her roommate.
“Because, silly, she’s in there talking to Weems right now, and when she comes out, I want to be the first to greet her. And I’ve already volunteered to give her a tour of the grounds,” Enid exclaimed in a hushed tone as if the stranger and Weems were pressed against the door, spying on their conversion.
“And what will I do? I am certainly not talking to another half-brain student,” Wednesday said dryly as she stared at the door.
Enid rolled her eyes at the goth girl’s statement; she had made Wednesday talk to someone new only once to find out that the person only talked about horses and the patriarchy. “You can glare uncomfortably on the sidelines then,” Enid replied.
Wednesday was getting ready to retort when she heard shuffling from behind the door and soft-spoken words that she could not make out.
“Howdie, friend! I’m Enid, and I’ll be giving you the tour!” Enid enthusiastically said as she attacked the girl with a hug.
All the air from Wednesday’s lungs had been sucked out as she stared at the stranger before her. She prayed to the old gods and new that this wasn’t some evil joke, her punishment for raising the dead. But when she saw the stranger smile, she knew this was her Y/N.
You stood before Wednesday with a human highlighter wrapped around your waist. You were wearing black slacks with a black button-up, and Wednesday felt a heart pick up as she admired you in her color. Where you once had chubby cheeks, they were now thinned out, and you had a jawline that could cut glass. You were once a short and stocky kid, but now you towered over Enid, and your muscular arms wrapped around the rainbow girl. It seemed like everything about you had changed, but nothing at all as well. You still had that bright smile and charming personality, as always, but Wednesday’s heart sank when she saw the scar on your eye. It took her a moment to notice it as you wore black sunglasses hiding your beautiful heterochromia.
“Ah, good, you’re already here, Enid, to give Miss Y/L/N a tour, and you’ve brought Miss Addams as well,” Weems said as she stepped out of her room and stood next to Enid and you. Wednesday nearly melted onto the floor when she saw you pull back from Enid and stand up straight, just a few inches shorter than Weems. She noticed how your smile faltered at the mention of ‘Addams’ before you played it off and plastered a fake smile on your lips. The air that was once filled with playful curiosity was one of tension, anger, betrayal, and longing.
“Addams,” you said with no emotion in a thick Italian accent as you extended your large and callused hand toward Wednesday that engulfed the goth girl’s small and cold hand. When your hands touched for the first time in ten years since the hospital, you both felt an electric charge pass between you two, and time seemed to stand still for a moment while the rest of the world disappeared around them.
Your covered eyes locked with Wednesday’s, and you both knew you felt an undeniable spark that sent shivers down your spines. Unspoken words seemed to flow between their fingertips as if their souls were communicating through the simple touch. They both felt the unexplainable and undeniable chemistry rushing back and flooding their minds as they looked at each other for the first time in seven years.
“Y/L/N,” Wednesday replied as she eagerly dropped your hand and wiped her palm on her pants as if it would erase the spark she felt.
Enid and Weems both shared a look as they watched the awkward encounter between the two girls, clearly displaying that they have a history between them. Enid cleared her throat as she stepped between you and Wednesday, “alrighty then, shall we get started with our tour?”
Your mood switched on a dime, and you instantly beamed at Enid’s words. You smiled down at the girl and locked your elbow with hers, and rested your hand gently on her arm, “Of course, my dear, let us begin our journey.” Wednesday pulled her eyes at your remark but walked a few paces behind you and her roommate; she knew this would be the start of a very unfortunate friendship.
“Welcome to the quad,” Enid said as she unlocked your arms and motioned around with her hands. “It’s a pentagon,” you replied as you looked at your surroundings.
Enid rolled her eyes at your comment; great, now she’d have to deal with two Wednesdays as if one wasn’t enough. “You know, Wednesday said the same thing when she first arrived too. I have a feeling you two will be the best of friends!” Enid stated in a cheerful tone after releasing that her roommate can have more than one friend.
“No,” the formal best friends said simultaneously and sent each other a glare, and if Enid picked up on it, you were glad she didn’t say anything.
“Allow me to give you a rundown on the social scene here at Nevermore,” Enid said as she walked around the ‘quad.’ “There are many flavors of outcasts here, but the four main cliques are Fangs, Furs, Stoners, and Scales,” the brighter girl stated while counting her fingers.
As Enid gave you the tour, you half paid attention out of respect for the girl trying to sell Nevermore to you, but all you could think about was the more petite girl standing a few feet behind you. You could feel her eyes burning holes into your back, but you couldn’t face her again, not after everything you’ve been through. There was once a time when you would have laid down your life for Wednesday; now, you could barely breathe the same air as her without getting angry. You knew it was stupid to hold a grudge for this long, but Wednesday was your first and only love, and you would be damned if you let her see you weak again.
When you finished the tour, Enid took you to your room, which was, unfortunately, in Ophelia Hall. “O-M-G! You’re rooming with Yoko! She is my best friend,” Enid announced before looking over at Wednesday, “well, besides Wens, obviously.”
Your heart sank at the nickname for Wednesday. Only you were allowed to call her Wens when you were children, and she barely let you do that. And now, here she was, allowing someone dressed like unicorn vomit to call her that without so much as an idle threat.
“‘Wens?’” You questioned with an eyebrow raised as you looked between the two roommates. You were glad you started to wear your sunglasses again so that neither girl could see the sadness in your eyes. But Wednesday knew you all too well, and she saw how your posture faltered when Enid called her that, and she saw the barely noticeable frown that tugged at your lips. ‘My name should only ever leave your lips,’ Wednesday wanted to say, but she held her tongue.
“Oh, yeah. That’s my nickname for Wednesday. She told me that no one has ever given her one before, so I decided to give her one,” Enid said as she ushered the two girls back to her room, “Come on, I wanna show you mine and Wednesday’s room.”
At the mention of Wednesday never having a nickname, you dropped your fake smile and looked at Wednesday, who was refusing to meet your gaze. ‘Do I mean that little to you where you would erase even our happiest memories?’ You thought when Wednesday finally looked up at you, and for the first time today, you saw emotion in her dark eyes: regret.
“I love the window,” you said as you entered Enid and Wednesday’s room. You loved the contrast between the two girls and how they seemed to get along perfectly; it reminded you of when you were young and Wednesday’s favorite person. Now, the girl barely looked at you.
“Thanks; the first day here, Wednesday took off her side of color and then put tape down to divide our room. And now look at how far we’ve come! I’m like the only one here who Wens actually cares about!”Enid exclaimed as she spun in her circle with her arms outstretched, clearly happy to be buddy-buddy with Wednesday. You nodded your head, trying to push back the tears that weld in your eyes at the mention of Wednesday caring for someone else before your eyes snapped to something on Wednesday’s wall.
“What’s this?” You questioned as you moved to get a closer look at the object that had caught your attention, causing both of the roommates to follow you.
“Oh, that’s one of Wednesday’s favorite weapons. She doesn’t let anyone touch it, not even me,” Enid said as her eyes fell on the sword mounted to the wall above Wednesday’s writing desk. Your eyes scanned over the sheathed sword and fell to the purple handle before you turned and looked at Wednesday. “May I?” You asked in a barely audible voice.
You expected Wednesday to shoot you down before you even finished speaking, but the girl gave you a curt nod, not trusting her voice at this moment. Your hands reached up and took the sword off its mantle, and you slowly took it out of its sheath and set it down on Wednesday’s desk. You turned the sword over and admired the sharp edge as you carefully ran your pointer finger along the blade’s edge; you could easily tell that Wednesday had been sharpening it routinely. Your finger finally made its way to the helm of the sword, and you turned it over and sucked in air as you let out a small chuckle.
You read your initials that were still engraved in the sword before your saddened eyes finally looked up at Wednesday’s guilt-ridden ones. Wednesday thanks the gods that you had your eyes covered, as she knew her heart would have broken ten times over if she saw the sadness in them.
“Well, then,” you said with a shaky breath as you sheathed the sword and placed it back on its mantle, “it’s a beautiful blade, Wednesday.” Your eyes caught something in the corner of Wednesday’s desk, and you felt every single emotion wash over you like waves crashing onto the shore: a small, black crocheted scorpion sat on top of an unopened note. Before you could comment on it, Wednesday’s voice pulled you out of your thoughts.
“I know it is,” Wednesday spoke honestly as her eyes danced across your face while you picked up on the double meaning behind her words.
After several seconds of awkward tension, you cleared your throat and walked to the door, “Alright then, I’ll, uh, leave you guys to it.”
Wait!” Enid shouted as she skipped over to you with her phone in hand. “Let me get your Snapchat so we can talk some more,” she said as she pulled up Snapchat. You smiled politely as you pulled your phone out of your back pocket and opened up Snapchat, and allowed the werewolf to add you, and you accepted her friend request when it popped up.
“I’ll see you later, Enid,” you said as you opened up the door to walk out, but you stopped and turned around to face Wednesday, “see you around sometime, Addams.” As you left, only one thought ran across both of your minds: ‘I can’t say hello to you and risk another goodbye.’
When you left the room, Enid immediately turned to face her roommate. “What was that about?” She questioned while staring down at the goth girl.
“I have no idea what you are referring to,” Wednesday replied as she walked over to her desk and began working on her novel. She had emotions come back that she had not felt in nearly ten years, and she needed to get them off her chest, writing out different scenarios of her killing Y/N.
Enid stomped to Wednesday’s desk and turned the small girl around in her chair. She grasped Wednesday’s shoulders and tightly gripped them as she spoke, “Yes, you do. Do not lie to me, Wednesday, or I will paint the side of your hot pink.”
The more petite girl rolled her eyes at her roommate’s comment before prying the hands off her shoulders and returning to her typewriter. “We used to be friends, and now we aren’t; end of story,” Wednesday flatly replied.
“I don’t believe you, I know there’s more to the story, but I won’t pressure you,” Enid defeatedly said as she walked over to her bed and lay down. Of course, she was dying to know the history between you and Wednesday. Still, she would never force Wednesday to talk about something uncomfortable, so she decided to wait it out and see if she could get an answer from either you or Wednesday first.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The two roommates walked into fencing class and heard the ringing of metal crashing together, and saw that Bianca was in a match with you. The two watched as you blocked Bianca’s advances and matched each of her assaults with double the force, causing the siren to walk backward toward the end of the mat. With one final blow against Bianca’s foil, you cause her to step backward off of the mat and ultimately lose the match.
Bianca let out an angry huff at the loss but shook your hand afterward. “You gave me a nice challenge, and I respect that. I hope to go up against you again soon,” the siren said as she walked off the mat.
“Maybe you’ll get lucky next time and beat me,” you joked as you started to take off your gear when your eyes landed on Wednesday. Before you had moved, you and Wednesday were always in fencing competitions, and it seemed that the two of you were always paired to go against one another. Naturally, you lost every time you went against her, but that was seven years ago, and you spent the past seven years perfecting every little thing that Wednesday was better at.
“Coach Vlad, I was wondering if I could go against someone else before class ends?” You questioned as you stood up. You knew that if you publicly challenged Wednesday that she couldn’t turn it down, and you also knew that she believed she was still the better fencer, so both of those gave you an advantage.
Coach Vlad studied your expression and determined that you only asked to prove a point, so he let you. “Who will you be challenging, miss Y/LN?”
“Addams,” was all you said as you stared at the girl dressed in an all-black fencing attire. Wednesday’s ears perked up at you challenging her, and she knew she would clear you.
“Very well, Wednesday, if you accept the challenge, stand the opposite of Y/N,” Coach Vlad stated with a hint of excitement. He loved watching the way the Addams sparred with his students; she was graceful yet coarse, which reminded him of when he was a student here at Nevermore.
Wednesday walked over to the mat you were standing on, her eyes locked with your covered ones. She wondered what made you wear those sunglasses again, and she missed those eyes she once called home.
“En garde,” Coach Vlad yelled as the atmosphere crackled with tension. The room falls into a reverent silence as the match begins. With grace and precision, you and Wednesday engage in a mesmerizing dance of footwork and technique, each exchange showcasing your guys' skill and determination.
Their moves were swift and calculated, their attacks and defenses fluid, each striving to gain the upper hand. The crowd of students watched in awe as they witnessed a display of finesse and competitive spirit.
Wednesday made the first aggressive move, launching a series of rapid lunges, attempting to catch you off guard. But you proved your prowess with deft parries, countering with swift ripostes that keep Wednesday on her toes.
As the match progressed, the intensity escalated, and their footwork became even more intricate, seeking to exploit any opening in their opponent's defense. The clang of metal echoed through the hall as their foils met in a series of fierce clashes.
Neither competitor gave an inch, their faces showing steely determination. You and Wednesday are evenly matched, your skills complementing each other, creating a mesmerizing spectacle for the crowd.
With each point you and Wednesday scored, your fellow students held their breaths, afraid that if they cheered, it would mess you two up. Yours and Wednesday’s adrenaline surged, and your focus sharpened, all distractions fading away as you two immersed yourselves entirely in the moment.
Time seemed to slow down, the seconds stretching into eternity as the match neared its climax. With one final burst of energy, you executed a daring feint, catching Wednesday off balance. In that split second, you placed your foot on top of Wednesday’s and advanced, causing the more petite girl to fall backward onto the mat. You stood over her and shoved the tip of the foil into her chest armor.
“I appear to be the victor,” you said as you towered over Wednesday before she quickly jumped up from the ground and stormed out of the hall, with you right on her heels.
“That was hardly a win; you cheated,” Wednesday stated as she stomped toward Ophelia hall. “And stop following me.”
“I might have cheated, but you’re still the loser,” you retorted as you quickened your step to walk beside Wednesday. “And I’m not following you; we live in the same hall.”
Wednesday said nothing; she couldn’t argue with the fact you two shared a hallway, but she still didn’t like it. You watched as Wednesday threw her door open and slammed it shut with a smile on your face; it felt good to have that playful banter back.
Naturally, your rivalry with Wednesday continued as if it had never left; you two constantly competed for the correct answers in your classes, and you two refused to fence with anyone else. It became so toxic that teachers started putting you two out in the hallway during class, like little toddlers who were being disruptive.
“I had a marvelous time ruinin’ everything,” you joked with Wednesday as it seemed you two were sitting outside your potions class once more. You had your back pressed against the stone wall next to the door, and Wednesday opted to sit next to you but kept a few feet between you.
“I do suppose ruining the activities of others is tolerable with you,” Wednesday said as she looked over at your beautiful smile that she once loved and felt her own lips twitch upward.
“I know my antics should be celebrated, but I’m glad you tolerate it,” you said once you saw her scary attempt at a smile.
At the week's end, Enid invited you to her room for some “girl talk.” You had no idea what girl talk would involve, but you wouldn’t pass up a chance to piss Wednesday off.
“Welcome to my dreamhouse!” Enid exclaimed as she opened the door and ushered you into her room. You knew it might be ill-tempered to say this, but you were jealous of Enid’s room. You loved the giant window in the center that emitted different colors throughout the room, highlighting and contrasting the two drastically different sides.
You followed Enid to her side and sat down on her bed with her. You allowed the werewolf to paint your nails a dark purple. She asked you questions about your past and what you wanted to do in the future. You told her that Criminal Justice intrigued you and you thought about becoming a detective at some point. In turn, you asked her what her future plans were, and she told you that if her parents allowed her, she would want to explore the world and see all the beauties she offered.
After you two had fallen into a peaceful conversation, she finally asked the question plaguing her mind since you first arrived, “So, how did you get that scar? If you don’t mind me asking.”
You swore you could hear a hairpin drop right when you felt the moment stop. It was as if someone had sucked all the air out of the room and replaced it with tension. Your eyes shot to Wednesday, who was previously typing on her typewriter but stopped when Enid asked the question. You quietly cleared your throat before speaking, “I, uh… it was my fault. I did something stupid without asking for permission, and I paid the consequences. That’s all.”
Wednesday felt her heart shatter into a million pieces when she heard you blame yourself for what happened. She wanted to run to Enid’s side of the room and tell you that it wasn’t your fault and that she would do anything she could to take it back, to have you back. She felt a single tear run down her cheek as she returned to her novel.
Not believing your story, Enid didn’t say anything else. She knew there was something more to the story, but she didn’t want to pressure you into telling her. “Well, I think it makes you look ten times hotter,” Enid confessed with a sly smile and a wink. She ignored how her hearing picked up on Wednesday’s heartbeat increased with jealousy at the comment.
You slightly chuckled at Enid’s comment before looking at Enid’s own scars that she sometimes tried to cover up. They were out of place on the brightly dressed girl, but it added a hint of toughness and bravery to her look that almost made you laugh. “What about your scars?” You politely asked, but Enid tensed up at your question.
“Oh. I got them from saving Wednesday last year,” she responded quietly as she continued painting your nails. She refused to meet your gaze, and you felt bad for asking about them, but you wanted to know more. “Why do you cover them up then? You shouldn’t be ashamed of your scars; they prove your loyalty to Wednesday.”
A slight grin tugged at Enid’s lips; she had never had anyone, but Wednesday tell her she was brave. “Thank you, Y/N. It’s just,” she paused as she glanced up at you before continuing her work on your hand, “my mother hates them and says I should be ashamed of myself for ruining any chance I have at finding someone.”
“You shouldn’t listen to your mother, Enid. I think those scars are beautiful, and they display your bravery,” you said as you reached up with your hand and gently traced the scar above Enid’s eyebrow. When a small tear fell down Enid’s cheek, you wiped it away and gave her a soft smile, and Enid knew right then that you were the most authentic person she had ever met. No one has ever been this honest with her, and she cherished your friendship.
Enid let a few quiet minutes pass by before she asked you about your first week at Nevermore, and you told her your honest thoughts. You enjoyed the classes but felt that some students cared too much about their social status and that you loved walking in the woods at night, causing the girl to stop painting your left ring finger.
“You do what at night?” Enid questioned harshly as her bright blue eyes stared into your soul.
“I go for midnight strolls by myself. Weems never told me not to.”
Enid scoffed at your words before glaring at Wednesday, who was working on her novel. “Wednesday is actually the reason we can’t walk around at night.”
At the mention of her name, Wednesday straightened her poster and turned around to face you two.
“Do not blame me for the shortcomings of the town sheriff for being unable to keep the people safe from his own son,” the goth girl stated in a threatening manner with an undertone of regret that you picked up on. You noticed the way Wednesday’s eyes seemed to gloss over with anger when she mentioned the sheriff’s son, and you could only assume something happened between them, which caused your heart to stink at the thought.
“I’m not blaming you, Wens. I’m just stating that you and your boy toy did play a part in ruining our time outside at night,” Enid said innocently as she went back to pairing your nails; she didn’t notice how you tensed up, and you're surprised that she didn’t hear your heart break in two. Your heartbroken eyes shoot to Wednesday’s pained ones, and you can practically read the thoughts behind her eyes, ‘I lost myself when I lost you.’
Even though you still had your eyes covered, Wednesday knew what you were thinking, ‘how could you betray me like this?’ You two were children when you last saw each other, but now as almost adults, you knew that all those feelings you felt for each other were more than platonic; it just took you two a lifetime and a half to realize it. As you two stared at each other, you felt all the love you once felt for each other return in an instant; feelings that come back are feelings that never left.
“‘Boy toy?’” You questioned as your eyes refused to leave Wednesday’s. You knew you would only get hurt by asking, but you had to know.
“It was a moment of weakness, Y/N. Nothing more,” Wednesday spoke with emotion for the first time as her voice broke off towards the end. She quickly cleared her throat and excused herself to the balcony with her cello before you had time to respond to her.
When Enid finished up your nails, you two were getting ready to do a face mask when she got a text. “Yes! Ajax just texted me to hang out with him! Is it alright if I leave you here? Or you can go back to your room if you want?” Enid asked as she stood up from her bed; you ignored the name at the top of her screen that read ‘Yoko.’
“I think I’m going to stay here for a while and hang out with Thing but go have fun,” you said with a faint smile as you watched Enid leave. Honestly, you missed Thing almost as much as you missed Wednesday. Anytime Wednesday would be away, and you were over, you would always hang out with Thing, and right now, he was definitely your favorite Addams.
You chatted with Thing over the sound of Wednesday’s cello for nearly twenty minutes as you did his nails and filled him in on what has happened to you in the past seven years. You told him stuff that you would be too afraid to share with Wednesday, not out of trust, but in fear of what she might do to the people that hurt you.
Only when Wednesday’s cello started to pick up and play a heavy melody did you stop talking. You listened to the way the smaller girl seemed to pour all of her emotions into her song, a song that was full of yearning, hurt, and regret. You listened as there was a slight shift in the music that resembled anger and frustration before turning into a declaration of love. And when the song finally ended on a note that sounded like longing, you got up and walked out to the balcony.
“That was a lovely song,” you said as you walked past Wednesday and rested your elbows against the balcony edge.
Wednesday gave you a quiet ‘mhm’ as a response as she set her cello to the side and joined you at the stone railing, making sure to keep five feet between you for homosexual purposes.
The two of you quietly enjoyed the starry night with a crescent moon above you.
“The sky is so beautiful tonight,” you said, gazing at the stars and moon with your sunglasses still on.
“It is,” Wednesday agreed, but she wasn’t looking up at the sky at all.
When you looked down at Wednesday, she was already staring at you with a tiny glint in her eyes. She subconsciously moved closer to you til she was standing a few inches away from you, and she slowly reached her hands up to take your glasses off. You turned to face her, quickly backing away, and put a foot between you two, “the fuck are you doing?”
“Take it off,” Wednesday stated in a dry tone.
“No.”
“Why not?”
“Because this ‘nerdy girl takes off her glasses and everyone finds out she’s actually really hot’ will not work on you,” you replied with sass in your voice.
“No, it won’t because you are not attractive in the slightest way,” Wednesday retorted while still staring into your soul.
“Thank you, Addams.”
“It wasn’t a compliment.”
“I know,” you said with a smile as you turned and leaned your elbows on the railing once more and continued staring at the stars. “You are my compact companion, after all,” you teased.
Wednesday rolled her eyes at comment; it felt like it was a lifetime again when she would call you that, and now you turned it against her. She had to agree with you, it was an awful nickname.
“All the pretty stars shine for you, my love,” you said after a couple of minutes had passed. “it’s from a song,” you added to clear up any confusion that might have been stirred.
Wednesday looked over at you, but you still had your eyes fixed on the sky, but she noticed how your hand slowly inched toward her own, and she picked up on the double meaning as she placed her palm over the back of your hand. She gave your hand three gentle squeezes before returning inside with her cello.
After that night, you two continued with your rivalry, of course, but something had changed that worried Wednesday. She didn’t know what that change was, but she felt it like a gentle shift in the air before a big storm; she knew something had changed between you two, but she didn’t know what.
On Tuesday of the following week, Nevermore was hosting an archery tournament that lasted all day that you and Wednesday were competing in. As the day dragged out, numerous Nevermore students were booted from the competition, and when it came down to the final two competitors, no one was surprised when they saw you line up next to Wednesday.
“I think I’ve seen this film before,” you said as you grabbed an arrow and notched it before slightly pulling back on the string. The memories of your last archery competition came flooding back as you watched the beautiful girl to the left of you grab an arrow.
“And I didn’t like the ending,” Wednesday finished as she notched her arrow, drew, and let it loose, nailing the target's bullseye. You scoffed at her words before drawing back your arrow and firing, hitting the bullseye a few centimeters away from Wednesday’s.
As the contest continued, you and Wednesday engaged in a back-and-forth display of remarkable archery skills. Each shot was precise, and the competition grew fiercer with every arrow released. The crowd of students that had formed around you two was captivated, witnessing a display of talent that would mold the archery competitions of Nevermore for ages.
As the final round approached, you and Wednesday were neck and neck. The tension was palpable, and the spectators held their breath in anticipation. You looked over your left shoulder at Wednesday as you notched and drew your arrow. The smaller girl’s eyes stared into your covered ones, and you saw the way her eyes danced across your face as if she was trying to place a curse on you.
With a shaky breath, you turned away from Wednesday and looked at your target before you slightly lowered the tip of your bow; it was so unnoticeable that no one picked up on it besides the girl who was soul bound to you.
You let the arrow loose and smiled slightly when you saw it hit the outer ring. Wednesday sent you a slight glance before drawing back on her arrow and letting it fly, nailing it right in the center of the bullseye.
The crowd around them let out a few cheers and applause as Weems got the trophies ready. “I knew you could do it, roomie!” Enid exclaimed as she skipped over to Wednesday and gently shook the girl’s shoulders. Wednesday nodded her head at Enid before she walked onto the makeshift sports pedestal podium for first and second. She stepped onto the stage for first and watched as you stood on the one for second, and you sent her a smile that confirmed everything she needed: you threw the match for her.
When Weems handed you two your trophies, you had a giant smile as people took your picture, while Wednesday bore an uncomfortable expression.
“I appear to be the victor,” Wednesday said as you two walked back to Ophelia Hall together. The sun was just setting, and the light seeped into the hallway, creating a romantic lighting that seemed a bit on the nose for you.
“It appears so,” you replied with a gentle smile as you flipped your trophy around and read the words “2nd place winner” underneath your name.
Wednesday scoffed at your comment before glaring up at your towering figure. “You aren’t going to finish the saying?”
You tapped your pointer finger on your chin, acting as if you were thinking profoundly. “Why would I? You didn’t cheat,” you said honestly and dropped your hand back down to your side.
“No, but you threw the match,” Wednesday said as she approached her door with you a few paces behind her. She wanted nothing more than to bring you inside and cherish you, but she would never stoop to her mother’s way of life.
“If I am capable of such an outlandish thing, I’m sure I would not do that just so you-of all people-could win,” you said with a serious tone but your smile told Wednesday you were joking and it made her cold, black heart ache for something for had felt once and only with you.
Deciding against her better judgment, Wednesday set her trophy on the ground, and before you had time to ask her what she was doing, her left hand gently grabbed your neck and pulled down as she stood on her tippy-toes to place a chaste kiss on your cheek. Your entire body heated up at the contact, and a smile overtook your face. The kiss lasted longer than it should have, as Wednesday’s lips lingered on your cheek as if she was making you a promise that she would one day taste your lips.
“Goodnight, Y/N,” Wednesday said as she picked up her trophy and entered her room, closing the door on your shell-shocked expression. You had butterflies dancing in your stomach as you walked back to your room with a gentle smile on your face and went to sleep with the thought of Wednesday’s lips against your skin. As you drifted off to sleep, Wednesday stayed up all night writing out the way you made her stomach feel like a thousand spiders lived there and the way your hair warmed her black heart. She once vowed to push you away to avoid the pain of losing you, but every waking moment she spent without you had caused her to feel that pain tenfold. Even if she would lose you at the end of your lives, at least she would have had the honor of calling you hers.
The eerie gothic ballroom was cloaked in darkness, dimly lit by flickering candlelight that cast haunting shadows upon the ancient stone walls. Heavy velvet drapes, tinged with a rich deep crimson, adorned the tall arched windows, adding a sense of mystery and opulence. Gothic-style chandeliers hung from the vaulted ceilings, their twisted metal work resembling gnarled branches, and their candelabras emitting a spectral glow. The air is filled with a subtle scent of incense, adding to the mysterious ambiance of the room as Wednesday prepared to entire the ballroom.
It was the Grimoire Soiree, Nevermore’s official gothic ball, that was hosted at the end of the Fall semester every year. Wednesday was naturally intrigued when she heard of a gothic ball and believed attending one might add a new element to her novel, including murder. Still, now, as she watched her peers walk into the ballroom, she felt out of place. Her heart yearned for the one who wouldn’t be attending.
It had been several months since the archery contest, and you and Wednesday had not talked to each other. Neither of you knew what to say, but you both wanted to say everything. You two continued with your rivalry, but there was a shift in the air when you two competed against each other, like you two were silently rooting for the other, and it gnawed at both of your hearts.
Deciding to face the music and the calling of her heart, Wednesday walked down the stairs and entered the room.
The polished black marble floors, etched with intricate patterns, mirror the gloomy setting as if reflecting the dark secrets concealed within the ballroom's history that enticed Wednesday. Elaborate gargoyles and stone statues of long-forgotten figures stood sentinel in the corners, their solemn expressions lending an air of solemnity to the space. Crimson roses, tinged with black, were carefully arranged in vases throughout the room, their haunting beauty contrasting with the darkness surrounding them.
As the haunting melody of a haunting organ filled the air, the students of Nevermore were clad in elaborate gothic attire and moved with an aura of elegance and enigma. The atmosphere was both haunting and enchanting, transporting the attendees to a realm of forgotten tales and otherworldly delights that overwhelmed Wednesday. Just as she was about to leave, an overly happy voice exclaimed, “Wednesday! You look amazing!”
The smaller girl wore a mesmerizing black gothic ball gown that is a sight of dark enchantment, featuring a flowing skirt that gracefully grazes the ground. Small black accents on the skirt add a touch of intricate detailing, enhancing its allure. The black corset, elegantly laced in the front, complements the gown's bewitching aesthetic and leads to long, puffy sleeves that exude an air of Victorian charm.
A small cutout on the chest, just above the corset, added a daring yet sophisticated touch, leaving a hint of mystery while maintaining an elegant appeal. The gown encapsulated a perfect blend of gothic elegance and captivating allure, making it an ideal choice for Wednesday's hauntingly beautiful ballroom event.
Wednesday turned around, and she noticed that her flamboyant roommate, who usually wore bright, borderline blinding colors, was in a darker-colored ball gown. The ball gown itself was a mesmerizing creation, enveloped in an enchanting dark purple hue that exudes an air of mystery and sophistication. It had a black corset adorned with dark purple accents that added an element of striking contrast, enhancing its captivating allure. Its intricate lacework and velvet accents add an extra layer of elegance. At the same time, its flowing silhouette gracefully captures the essence of gothic charm, something that Wednesday had never seen on Enid before.
The gown caught Wednesday off guard, and she believed that Enid somehow pulled it off, highlighting her piercing blue eyes that would blind anyone. Wednesday might have even given Enid some form of a compliment, but she knew that Enid didn’t need that kind of ego inflation.
“I appreciate your words, Enid. And you,” Wednesday wanted to be nice tonight but struggled with the words, “Do not look ridiculous.”
The werewolf beamed at her roommate's words, and a smile formed from cheek to cheek. “Awww! Thank you, Wens!” Enid said as she turned to walk toward Ajax but then suddenly turned back to Wednesday as if she had forgotten something. “Oh, and your lover was looking for you earlier; she said she has something to tell you.” And with that, Enid disappeared into the crowd of dancing students with Ajax. Wednesday’s cold heart picked up at the mention of you wanting to talk to her and beat rapidly against her chest. Her eyes scanned the room for you as an all too familiar saxophone interrupted the organ.
As if it was magic, Wednesday’s dark eyes immediately found your heterochromia ones in the vast sea of swirling gowns and powdered faces. You were standing on the opposite side of the room, wearing a gothic suit that consisted of a slightly ruffled white shirt, adding a touch of romanticism to the ensemble. Over the shirt, there was a black cavalier vest adorned with mesmerizing purple tapestry, creating a captivating contrast of colors and textures. Completing the look was a sleek black jacket, lending an air of sophistication and dark allure. The suit is further enhanced by a small yet elegant collar chain featuring a black scorpion on both collars, adding a subtle yet distinctive element of gothic charm to the overall attire.
Put on your Bobbi-sox baby
Pull up your old blue jeans
There’s a band playin’ down at the armory
Know’s what rock and roll really means
You two gravitated towards each other at a slow pace before picking up as your hearts quickened with excitement, and soon, you two were standing face to face. “Hi,” you said breathlessly as you got lost in Wednesday’s eyes.
“Hi,” she replied as she looked into your beautiful eyes for the first time in seven years. She had forgotten just how beautiful they were; the green eye seemed to dance with the room's lighting while the gray one gave Wednesday a feeling of comfort, the dark color reminding her of her own material home in New Jersey.
I want to bop with you baby, all night long
I want to bop the night away
I want to make it a night like it used to be
“May I have this dance?” You asked as you slowly started to do ‘The Twist’ from Pulp Fiction. Wednesday smiled and began doing Uma Thurman’s part of the dance as if you two were just six years old again and dancing in Wednesday’s room. You two smiled and joked the entire dance and felt the whole room disappear as the song drew to a close. “Shall we dance again, my fair lady?” You asked when the dance was finished as you stuck out your hand and slightly bowed, just as you did ten years ago.
“You’re exhausting,” Wednesday replied when the room began waltzing to the beautiful melody of ‘Merry-Go-Round of Life,’ but she took your hand. You placed your free hand just underneath her shoulder blade as her spare hand rested upon the shoulder of the arm that was under her shoulder blade. As the music played, Wednesday allowed you to lead the dance and found herself in a trance as she stared into your beautiful eyes that she missed.
“Stop staring into my soul,” you commented as you spun around with Wednesday.
She huffed at your words and playfully stepped on your foot before continuing the dance. “I’m not staring into your soul; I am just admiring your breathtaking eyes,” she confessed honestly while you two continued your fluid movements. “Why did you start covering them again?”
You tensed up at her words but continued with the graceful dance. “The only person who found beauty in them was gone,” you said shyly as you gave Wednesday a tight-lipped smile. The smaller girl frowned at your words; she didn’t know what to say without confessing her undying love for you. So she stayed quiet and let her eyes drift over to the scar on your face and let regret and pain wash over her like waves on the shoreline. “I never meant to hurt you,” Wednesday mumbled out as she let the pain show on her face. You were her best friend, her soulmate, and her home, and even though she didn’t know that it was either you or no one when she was just a child, she now wanted to wrap you in her arms and never let anything or anyone harm you again; even if that meant protecting you from herself.
So, she dropped your hand while dancing and left you out there standing. Crestfallen on the landing as Wednesday left you in the ballroom and disappeared outside.
You snapped out of your disappointed state and were quick on her heels as you followed her outside. “Wednesday, what’s wrong?” You asked as you followed her to a water fountain and watched her sit down on the side.
She was sick to her stomach; she could hear her heartbeat pounding in her ears as she had an internal battle with her heart and brain. Her brain told Wednesday to run in the opposite direction, never to talk to you again. But her heart was telling her to run toward you, to embrace you with her loving heart that seemed to only beat for you. She felt nauseous as her thoughts bounced around; what if you didn’t feel the same way toward her? The last time you two were friendly with each other was almost eleven years ago when you guys were six. What if by showing you this much softer side of her, you reject her and use her weakness as a spear to her chest? Nearly killing her but leaving her alive just enough to continue living a life of nothingness. Your heart was glass, and she dropped it.
But what if you felt the same? What if your heart only beat for her, and you would rather die than not have been able to call her yours? All the moments you two spent at each other’s throats during competitions as you sent her little glances and silently prayed she would win so that you could see her eyes light up.
“Enid said you had something to say to me, Y/N,” Wednesday finally spoke as her thoughts ran rapidly in her mind. She needed to know what you wanted to say to her; she could not die in peace without knowing.
You stared at the alluring girl who refused to meet your eyes. There were thousands of things you wanted to tell her, but you didn’t know how. “Wednesday, there’s things I wanna say to you, but I’ll just let you live,” you said quietly as Wednesday’s eyes finally met yours. Wednesday dryly laughed at your words as her eyes glossed over with tears. The last time she had cried was because she lost you, and now, she was crying because she had finally found you. All of this silence and patience, pining and anticipation, was killing her. Wednesday’s hands were shaking from holding back from you. When you said her name, everything just stopped; she didn’t want you like a best friend.
Wednesday’s eyes darted across your face, looking for anything resembling rejection. When she found only love and longing in your ocean eyes, she took in a deep breath and spoke in a broken voice, “I used to look at you and see my best friend, and now I can hardly look at you without picturing our bones resting together in a grave dug for two. I left you in there because I cannot live without knowing if it meant more to you too as well. I would rather die than bear these feelings alone.”
The words that left Wednesday’s lips took you off guard; you had a speech, and now you’re speechless. “What do you mean by that, Wednesday? Are you telling me that you have feelings for me?” You asked with disbelief on your face; you needed to know if she was confessing her love for you, but you weren’t quite sure if that’s what she meant.
“The sun rises and sets with your smile. At least it does for me. You’re the only thing on this planet worth worshipping. In simpler terms: I want you. I’ve always wanted you. It just took me ten years to realize it. I’m your jazz singer, and you’re my cult leader,” Wednesday confessed as she stared into your eyes, already accepting rejection.
“Wednesday, you don’t have to bear those feelings alone,” you stated with a sigh of relief. Wednesday’s eyes smiled for her as she pushed herself off the fountain, and slowly walked toward you. She stopped a few feet in front, giving you space to run away if you desired.
“I once had someone tell me I was destined to be alone, but I would like to be alone with you. If I’m enough - if you want me, if you’ll have me - I’m yours, only yours, Y/N,” Wednesday admitted with a silent prayer.
“Wednesday, I have only wanted you since we were kids. I only wanted you as a best friend then, but now, when I look at you, I only see my other half. I would rather die than not be able to call you mine, even if it’s just for a second.”
Slowly, Wednesday stepped to you until you were close enough to touch, begging you to make the first move she has always been afraid to take. “For the past ten years, I have been trying to form a way to apologize for the way I treated you, but every time I come up with something, I only see you in that hospital bed,” Wednesday admitted.
You gently reached out to Wednesday’s hand and brought it to your cheek. You gave a small kiss on the palm of her hand before moving it to cup your cheek as your free hand wiped away the lone tear that fell down Wednesday’s cheek. “I forgive you, Wednesday. I had forgiven you the moment I moved; I thought I would never see you again,” you whispered with tears in your eyes as you brought your forehead against Wednesday’s.
Wednesday sighed in relief as she brought up her other hand and cupped your cheeks. You pulled back from her, and Wednesday wanted to cry. You placed a kiss on her forehead that felt like a promise, then kissed her nose, silently telling her everything will be alright, another on her cheek that felt like you would wait however long for her, and finally, you kissed her lips with so much love Wednesday almost died. She let a small, choked-up gasp escape her lips before gently kissing you back. For the first time in ten years, you both finally felt at home.
A blanket of snow fell upon the Addams’ residence that coated the peaceful house as Morticia Addams shot up in bed. She gasped for breath as her eyes panicky shot around the room.
The action woke Gomez up, and he reached over to the bedside table to turn on the lamp before reaching out to his wife. “Cara mia, what’s wrong?” He asked with worry laced in his voice, but his worry faded when he saw a giant smile plastered on Morticia’s face that accompanied the tears of joy in her eyes.
She wrapped her arms around her husband and pulled him against her, in complete disbelief at the vision she just had of her daughter. She pulled back from the embrace before exclaiming, “Our darling viper has found someone to share her grave with!”
Gomez lit up with excitement at the mention of Wednesday having a lover; words could not express his joy when his daughter finally fell to the Addams Family Curse. “My love, this is dreadful news! I cannot wait to meet them,” he said with a smile on his face.
Morticia laughed at her husband's words before placing a hand on his cheek and stroking it with her thumb. “Don’t worry, Gomez. You have known her since she was a child.”
“Eren, why the hell are you dragging us out to this party?” you complained to your friend as he sat on your couch with his feet on your coffee table. You shot him a glare and almost immediately he swung his legs off.
He simply shrugged in response, the movement of his shoulders barely recognizable under the giant pumpkin costume he wore. “The band’s playing at some pre-Halloween party, Hange told me to invite all my friends.”
A scoff came from the other side of the room, where Jean, in his “sexy cowboy” costume, was leaning against the wall. “Do they know that you only have two of those?” You heard a laugh beside him as Eren glared at him.
“You’re here too, aren’t you?” Armin chuckled at Jean. “That makes four at least.” He put up each finger on one hand as he listed off everyone present: himself, you, Jean, and Mikasa.
“I’m not his friend,” Jean rolled his eyes before looking away. “And Mikasa’s his girlfriend, she doesn’t count. So yeah, smart-ass. Two friends.”
He pointed at you and Armin, who were dressed in matching pumpkin costumes with Eren. Mikasa , who was dressed as Morticia Addams, nodded in agreement. Jean, to some extent, was right. He sat by Eren in the psychology class you two shared (often asking if the two of you could share your notes with him) and Mikasa comes to Eren’s shows all the time.
“Hey,” you pointed out. “The pumpkin costumes were not my idea. I wanted to be Pitbull.” You attempted to cross your arms over the orange felt encasing your body, to no avail.
“Not fair,” Armin countered. “We’ve been matching pumpkins since the fourth grade.”
“Why is Mikasa exempt this year then?” You huffed.
“I told you guys I’d be a pumpkin on Halloween,” she shrugged. “It’s October 17th.”
You rolled your eyes. She had a point. And it was far too late for you to find a different costume now. Jean scoffed at your playful bickering. “At least you’re a hot pumpkin,” he joked. You were used to Jean’s flirtatious comments by now, but you never really took them too seriously. He seemed like he only did it to get a rise out of Eren, who’d come to fill some sort of brotherly role in your life since you were kids.
“Yeah?” Eren spoke with a mischievous glint in his eyes. “Glad you think I’m hot.” He and Armin exchanged a laugh as Armin walked to comfort a sulking Jean.
“Not you,” Jean turned away, swatting an arm out at Armin who pat him on the back pitifully. “Ugh I don’t even know why I agreed to come along.”
“Because you needed my notes to pass class, dumbass,” Eren retorted.
Remembering your psych class, you cleared your throat before speaking. “Anyway,” you began. “The point was that we have a psych exam tomorrow and Halloween is still well over a week away.”
Eren mumbled something about the frat wanting to beat all the other frat parties happening and promising free coffee for you tomorrow in exchange for coming out tonight. You rolled your eyes in response. You couldn’t be begged to come, but you could be bribed, apparently.
With that, three pumpkins, a sexy vampire-esque housewife, and a not-as-sexy cowboy made their way to the local frat house. It felt pretty ridiculous really, to see the five of you (especially the pumpkins) all pile into Eren’s beat up Camry on a random Sunday in October.
The blue and white house that sat at the end of Greek row still seemed relatively untrashed, save for the (decorative?) shopping cart filled with empty cans of beers and seltzers on the front lawn. The party had yet to hit its full swing and you internally groaned at the thought of being here all night. Upon entering, the four of you followed Eren to where his band was beginning to set up. Somehow, they had managed to set up a stage in the cramped first floor of the house.
Eren’s band, No Name, consisted of him, and three seniors from various departments of the school who were all also somehow academic weapons: Hange, a rather eccentric pre-med biology major on keyboard; Miche, a finance major on drums; and Levi, a biomedical engineering major, was their lead guitarist and lead singer. Eren himself played bass, and was a junior in music education.
He started in the band around the end of the spring semester when Erwin, the previous bassist for the band, and the others came up to him after one of his recitals to invite him into the band. Eren talked about his band members a lot, but this was the first time you were going to meet them in person.
The rest of the band was already on stage, tuning their instruments and messing with the amps and wires that were scattered around. They looked up at Eren as he hopped onto the platform to join them. Hange gave him an excited wave as they played a few test notes on the keyboard. Miche gave him an acknowledging nod, before turning his attention back to his drums.
The third member, Levi, looked up and nodded at Eren before glancing at the rest of you. He seemed surprised to see you there because you watched his gray eyes flicker back to you. His gaze was intense, but cautious. You turned your head in confusion until you realized you’d seen him in class before. You hadn’t really spoken to him before, but you gave him a light wave anyway and he returned with the same nod he gave Eren.
“Mikasa,” Hange greeted her excitedly. “I love your costume, you are so cute.” Mikasa blushed at the compliment and thanked them in response. Miche was not in costume, but Hange and Levi seemed to have a matching motif – They were wearing all white with a halo headband atop their head, and Levi in all black with devil horns on his head. Hange turned their attention to the rest of you and hopped off the stage to meet you. “Armin, you’ll have to introduce me to your friends.”
“Right,” Armin started. He introduced you and Jean to Hange and to Miche and Levi who were listening while finishing up. Jean nodded to Levi who looked at him with a raised eyebrow.
“Hey bro,” Jean greeted. Levi scoffed in return.
“Not your bro,” he replied curtly. Hange raised an eyebrow at him in amusement. “This is that idiot who sits in front of me and watches Fortnite streams during class.” Hange hummed in recognition as Levi explained. You couldn’t help but let out a chuckle at Levi’s dry response and he turned his slate gray eyes to you.
“He’s right Jean,” you agreed. “You are a bit of an idiot.” Levi’s lips twitched at your agreement.
“And you’re the one who shares notes with the idiot so he passes,” he turned to you.
“Yup,” you affirmed with a grin. “His savior, if anything.”
Jean opened his mouth to retort before a voice caught everyone’s attention. Connie, the president of the frat called out to Levi. He was dressed as a minion. “Hey Levi,” he greeted. “Are you guys ready? More people are starting to show up, so I figured I’d ask if you guys were ready to start your set.” Levi nodded and Connie turned to the rest of you. “There’s snacks and drinks in the kitchen.” He leaned over and lowered his voice conspiratorially before adding, “I’d go ahead and dig into the charcuterie before Sasha gets here and gets a whiff of the prosciutto.”
The group of you moved away from the amps by the stage and towards the kitchen where, sure enough, enough alcohol and snacks for an army were haphazardly layed out. A strum from the guitar and a tap on the mic caught your attention as Levi introduced the band. “Hey everyone, we’re No Name. Enjoy, I guess.” Without any more fanfare, he turned to Miche and nodded as they began their first song, a rather upbeat song about partying. The cheers from the now crowded living area spurred them on. With a fresh drink in your red cup, you made your way back towards the stage to watch the group.
Honestly they were pretty good, and you wondered why it had taken you so long to actually see one of their shows. Hange had an upbeat and charismatic aura on stage, constantly bouncing on their feet and even sending an occasional flirty wink to people in the crowd. Miche seemed to get lost in the music and you watched as his eyes shut and he seemed to be in his own world. Even Eren, who looked stoic enough nodded his head along to the music and you could recognize his voice ever so often in a high harmony.
And there was Levi.
 Although he didn’t look it… or particularly sound like it from his cold and short manner of speaking, had a melodic tone to his low voice. He was much different on stage than what you had gleaned from him in the short interaction you had with him. Then, he felt intense and closed off, as if he had already placed himself at an emotional distance from those around him. His stage presence however, was magnetic – the way he leaned into his microphone and would turn to face the band every so often to give cues, he seemed so in command, The way he’d smirk every so often or scan around the audience, it made you want to be the object of his gaze. it was impossible not to stare.
“About last night, I was undoneGod it feels right, being so wrongAnd I realized, all the blurry nights are when I feel alive.”
You looked around at your friends as you began to dance. Mikasa gently bobbed along as she watched Eren with adoration in her eyes. Armin nodded along to the song while he took a sip from his red cup. Jean was talking to a girl who was quietly giggling at whatever he had just whispered in her ear. This was fun, you concluded.
Back on stage, Hange hit a high note that caught your attention and the fanfare told you the song was coming to an end. You watched mesmerized as Levi stepped away from the microphone to strum down on his guitar, head nodding along to the music before returning to the mic and gripping it with both hands. “About last night…” he trailed off and ran his hands through his jet black hair. The rest of the band continued on with the last measures of the song, Eren’s fingers flying up and down the neck of his bass and Miche running through the end of a drum solo.
You found yourself grinning as you clapped and cheered along with the crowd. After a brief pause, Eren’s bass kicked off the next song and you scurried off to the kitchen to top off your drink and grab a snack. With the light buzz of alcohol in your head, you began to realize you didn’t seem to particularly mind the growing crowd dancing alongside you. Time seemed to pass quickly as you found yourself eagerly waiting for each new song the band played. The energy on stage felt electric and contagious, and you found yourself locked in on one member in particular – Levi.
There was something about how he sang each lyric with a raw rasp in his voice and the way his fingers slid down his fretboard with ease that made him so good to look at. The music they played was fun and upbeat, but when they slowed down for a final song, it surprised you enough to snap you out of your trance as Levi spoke in the mic again, leaning in enough that his lips touched the cold metal.
“It’s our last song of the night,” he began with a sigh, catching his breath from the last song. He grabbed his water bottle that was by his mic stand and took a quick sip before wiping some sweat off his brow and continuing. “Let’s chill the fuck out and slow things down. For the last time, we’re No Name.”
Levi’s voice came out over a smooth melody on the keyboard. As people began to gather in pairs or move away from the dance floor, you found yourself close to the stage once again. Levi seemed to catch your eye as he continued to sing and strum gently. His voice had a gentle vibrato to it and it was mesmerizing.
It wasn’t till you felt a tap on your shoulder and you saw Levi’s eyes flicker to a figure beside you that you turned to see Jean offering his hand out to you. “Wanna dance?” he asked casually. You shrugged as you slipped your hands around the back of his neck. His hands awkwardly found your waist, squishing your pumpkin costume in the middle so you looked a little bit more like a squash instead.
“What happened to that girl you were with earlier?” you asked Jean curiously. You had hung out with him a couple of times outside of class, mostly to study, but Jean never seemed very interested in you past being a study buddy turned friend.
“She was definitely more interested in other girls than she was in me,” Jean chuckled quietly. “Plus you looked kinda silly, a giant pumpkin standing by itself in front of the stage.” You turned around, eyes wide, to realize that you were in fact the only person who was on the dance floor alone. Mikasa had gone off to the kitchen to find Sasha and Armin was dancing softly with the girl he’d been talking to lately. Jean must have noticed your embarrassment because he was quick to continue speaking.
“Don’t worry,” Jean continued. “I too would be transfixed if it seemed like a hot singer was singing right at me.” You felt yourself blush at his comment.
“Shut up Jean,” you chastised. “Or else I’ll tell Levi you think he’s hot.” “Game respects game,” Jean chuckled with a shake of his head and leaned in to whisper near your ear. You could hear the smirk in his voice. “Don’t believe me?” You shook your head no in response. “His eyes haven’t left you since we started dancing.”
Sure enough, Levi was still watching the pair of you as you gently swayed to the melody. The song came to a close soon after and Jean jokingly twirled you away from him before whispering “Go get ‘em tiger.”
You found yourself stunned as he walked away and turned back to the stage just in time to see Levi set his guitar in its case before hopping down in front of you. Without his guitar slung in front of him, you could see his outfit better. He wore a black turtleneck that clung nicely to his toned chest and arms and black slacks. The only Halloween-y part of his outfit were the devil horns that sat on his head… which he promptly removed. Even with his hair disheveled and the glow of sweat on his skin, he looked good. He ran his hands through his hair and took a sip of his water, not once breaking eye contact with you. It felt a little intense, really, and even more so when you realized you couldn’t read anything from it.
“You guys are really good,” you offered with a grin. “I really liked that last song.”
“Thanks,” Levi nodded. He let the silence sit for a beat before continuing to talk. “You’re in my psych class, right?”
“Yeah I am,” you confirmed. “I sit next to the dumbass.” Levi’s lips turned upwards in amusement and he nodded.
“Cool,” he said simply. He didn’t say anything else, but he made no move to leave either, so you tried your best to continue the conversation.
“When–”
“We–”
Levi finally let out an amused scoff. You figured that’s the closest you’d get to a genuine laugh, and it was enough to put your nerves at ease for the time being. “Go ahead,” you said.
“We’re playing at another party in two weeks if you want to come,” he said cooly, but the way his fingers fidgeted around the plastic water bottle as if it was the neck of his guitar made you think he might be thinking about this conversation as hard as you.
“Sure, I–” you paused as you thought about the date. “Wouldn’t that be November already?”
A scoff escaped his lips again. “Yeah, some stupid shit about a post-Halloween soiree leading into no-nut-November. A gig is a gig, I guess.” He sounded less than amused about the theme of the party but shrugged it off.
You laughed at the stupidity of it all. “Sure, yeah, I’ll try to come by.”
You smiled at him. He smiled back at you, well, smirked more like. “Cool,” was all he said.
A buzz from your wrist caught your attention, reminding you that it was nearing 1 a.m. and that you had told yourself to go home to study for your exam. You looked back up at Levi apologetically. “Sorry,” you began. “I have to get home, I want to study before tomorrow.”
Levi hummed in acknowledgement and you wondered when he found time to study for his own classes. He nodded towards the door, offering to walk you out. He didn’t really say much until you were both at the front porch of the house, with the cool autumn breeze seeping through the felt of your costume. “I’ll see you around?” he asked.
You nodded in response. “See you around.”
“Cool,” he said again. You moved to begin walking home but turned back with a smile and a two finger salute when you heard him say “Nice costume, by the way.” You had a feeling he wasn’t going to say that to Armin or Eren.
Sure enough, the next time you saw Levi was after your psychology exam the next morning.
You had woken up at your desk after falling asleep studying with only 20 minutes until class began. With no other options, you quickly brushed your teeth and washed your face but ran out of your apartment without bothering to change clothes. You arrived just in time for the test to begin, but too late to sit in your usual seat by Eren and Jean.
Last night after coming home from the party, you found it difficult to focus on your notes. All you could think about was Levi and his piercing stare. You’d definitely seen his gray eyes before, but being the subject of their gaze was something else entirely. You recalled the feeling in the pit of your stomach the first time he looked at you. It wasn’t until your phone buzzed with a text from Mikasa stating that she made it home safely that you snapped out of your daze enough to begin studying.
When the exam was finally over, you met the two of them outside of the classroom.
“No, you idiot,” Jean argued. “You’re thinking of the halo effect, the answer was the reciprocal liking effect.” They were in the middle of arguing about what the correct answer on a part of the exam was and you watched Eren scramble to pull his messy notebook out of his backpack to find it in his notes. Before you could interrupt and correct them, a low voice beat you to it.
“It’s the mere exposure effect, you dumbasses,” You turned around with a chuckle, stepping aside to give space for Levi to stand with the three of you. He wore a crisp white t-shirt and black sweatpants and you felt slightly embarrassed at your own pajama pants-hoodie-bedhead combo.
“Huh?” Eren asked as he tried to skim through his notes. “But isn’t that–”
“Mere exposure suggests that the more times we encounter someone or something, the more we tend to like it,” you explained. Levi nodded in agreement.
“Looks like the studying paid off,” he commented, turning to face you.
“Sure did,” you replied before a yawn escaped your lips.
“Take a nap,” Levi suggested, looking you up and down. “You look like shit.” You turned to him with a sharp eye before you realized that was his attempt at witty banter. Instead of a scowl, you rolled your eyes instead.
“I’ll nap after this one buys me a coffee.” You gestured to Eren who had now turned back to Jean to argue about a different question. Levi nodded back before turning to the voice that called his name from behind. It was Hange and Miche.
“See you around,” he said before heading in their direction.
You didn’t see Levi much after that day. Or Eren for that matter.
For the next few classes, Eren and Levi left rather promptly to have band practice in preparation for their early November gig. So those days, you found yourself walking to the library with Jean.
“I haven’t seen Eren have to go to practice this often since the summer,” you had noted to him as you walked. The party was tomorrow night, and Eren and Levi skipped class altogether for rehearsal so you promised to send Eren your notes.
“Yeah,” Jean agreed as he brushed a fallen leaf off the top of his hair, ruffling it in the process. “But apparently they have a new song on their setlist, so I guess that’s why.”
You were surprised to learn that Jean had a conversation with Eren past arguing over class notes, and you noted the shade of red that dusted the tops of his ears when he saw you look at him inquisitively. “Oh? Did Eren tell you that?”
“Yeah,” he scoffed. “And what about it?”
“Nothing,” you replied coyly. “Just glad to see you guys are friends now.” Jean rolled his eyes and you shoved him playfully. He shook his head with a soft laugh.
“I guess if I have to see him every day, we might as well be friends,” Jean admitted. “Mere exposure effect or whatever.”
“Aw, you are learning, Jeanny boy.”
The next evening you found yourself at yet another frat house in front of another stage. At least this time you weren’t in a pumpkin costume, but rather in an actual outfit that you felt good about (One that wasn’t picked out by any of your friends).
You managed to arrive in time to catch the band setting up, wanting to offer help, but not really knowing how. Instead you sat on the couch beside a bored looking Mikasa as she fiddled with the cup in her hands.
“Most people don’t show up to parties until they’re actually parties,” Mikasa sighed as she rested her chin in her hands. She watched as Eren fiddled with the tuning pegs of his bass in front of Levi who played him his pitches. You chuckled in agreement. There really wasn’t much going on quite yet as the party had yet to truly begin.
“We could have come by later in the evening,” you replied.
“Nah,” Mikasa countered. “I’m bored, but I’d rather be bored here with Eren than bored alone at home. Plus this way everyone knows I’m ‘with the band’ or whatever. Keeps weirdos away from Eren.” As if to prove her point, she sent a glare towards the poor girl who walked up and offered Eren a water bottle. She had a point. She had a reason to be here early, but did you?
You could say that Mikasa dragged you here with her, but she didn’t really. You weren’t really “with the band” either. You looked back over at the stage and caught Levi’s eye. He gave you a single wave before turning his attention to his microphone stand. Maybe, you thought, it was reason enough that you liked seeing the band set up.
By the time No Name got to the middle of their set, you were having a great time dancing with Mikasa who was more than buzzed. You also felt a little tipsy, but you were nowhere near Mikasa’s level. One of you had to be sober enough to care for the other. Levi cleared his throat into the mic before speaking. “This is a new song. Happy Halloween and no-nut-November.” Although his face remained passive, you could tell Levi was poking fun at the drunk frat boys that were scattered about and cheering loudly.
Mikasa leaned over to you as a keyboard melody began to play. “Eren said you’d probably like this one,” she slurred into your ear.
“I wish that you and I lived in The SimsWe could build a house and plant some flowers and have kidsBut we’re both at some trashy Halloween party downtown”
Levi let his guitar hang around his neck as he wrapped both of his hands around his microphone and leaned in close, as if his proximity to the microphone could fill the room with a sense of intimacy.
“I wish that we lived on a VHSI'd erase the things I said and that I'll probably say againHit rewind on all the times I got lost in my head”
Mikasa was right, and you were pleased to know that your many years of knowing Eren paid off in him knowing your taste in music. You wondered if he had any influence in writing it and you made a mental note to ask him about it some other time. It was a different vibe than some of the songs the band played last time you saw them, but the crowd seemed to enjoy it and so did you.
The rest of the set was filled with songs that were familiar to you – songs you heard at the last show, and songs that you’d heard Eren practice when you came to visit him and Mikasa at their apartment. Same as last time, the set closed with a slower song, but with no dance partners in sight, you and Mikasa stumbled out to the backyard instead, opting for some fresh air. In the moonlight, you could see the red glow that rose in her cheeks, a side effect of the alcohol. Knowing her, she was on the verge of falling asleep and you were thankful that Eren would be finished with his set soon and could deal with her instead. As much as you loved your friend, Mikasa became a deadweight when she was drunk, as if all her muscles became laced with actual iron.
As if on cue, the final strum of the song rang out and soon after, Eren plopped down between you and a sleeping Mikasa. He scoffed at the sight, but the red in his ears betrayed his attempt at a cool demeanor. He pulled out his phone to take a photo of her in her peaceful state and you laughed softly.
“You know she’ll kill you tomorrow morning once she sees that,” you warned him. Eren chuckled and shook his head as he reached under Mikasa’s back to pull her into his chest and she hummed at the familiar warmth. It was hard to believe that in any other square inch of this party there were frat boys throwing up on the grass when a scene as soft and gentle was playing out right in front of you.
“Eh,” Eren shrugged carefully, looking at her adoringly. “I think I can take her.” He smiled as he pressed his lips against the crown of her head before looking back towards you. “Did you drink tonight?” Eren asked.
You nodded and reached your hand up to feel how warm your cheeks had gotten from the alcohol. “Not nearly as much as Misa,” you answered.
“Do you have a ride?” Eren asked. “I didn’t drive today.”
“I was just planning on walking back,” you shrugged your shoulders. Eren’s brows furrowed together in concern.
“If Armin’s around, you should ask him to walk with you,” Eren suggested. “Or I guess that horse-faced dumbass. He’s fine, I guess.” You laughed at Eren’s mention of Jean.
“I didn’t even know they came,” you admitted.
“They showed up kinda late,” Eren explained. “I saw them show up towards the end of the set.” You hummed in response.
“I’ll keep an eye out then,” you promised as you turned away. “You sure you don’t need my help?” You glanced at Mikasa as Eren waved you away.
“Text me when you get home!”
Back inside the house, the sounds of the band had been replaced with someone’s playlist blasting over the speakers. After doing a lap around the house, your two other friends were nowhere to be found. You knew you were hitting the end of your own social battery as you approached the kitchen in search for a water bottle to take with you before heading out. Although you didn’t drink as much as Mikasa did, the warmth in your throat reminded you that it would be a smart idea to start hydrating. You immediately headed for the cooler that was propped on the counter and dug through the ice and cans of beer until you found what you needed. You wiped your hand against the fabric of your top, trying to regain feeling in your cold fingers before you heard a familiar voice call your name.
“Levi,” you smiled at him in greeting. Today he wore a simple gray sweater with black jeans, and you wondered if he owned anything colorful in his closet. “You guys killed it today.”
Levi’s eyes lit up ever so slightly at the compliment. “Thanks,” he began, and you wondered if that’s all he’d say. “We practiced it a lot.”
“And it paid off,” you agreed, opening your water to take a sip. “I really liked that new song.”
You noted how Levi’s mouth twitched into a small smile. “Really?” he asked.
“Yeah,” you nodded enthusiastically. “It’s right up my alley, and I liked the lyrics too.”
That answer seemed to please Levi who turned his head to hide a gentle blush that crept up his cheeks before clearing his throat to change the subject. “Not drinking tonight?” Levi nodded at the water bottle in your hands.
“I drank plenty,” you chuckled. “It’s for my walk home.”
“You’re walking home?” Levi repeated. “Where’s that brat you’re friends with?”
“Eren?” you asked as Levi nodded. “He’s dealing with a drunk sleeping Mikasa. I told him I'd go with Armin or Jean, but I can’t seem to find either of them.”
Levi hummed as you explained. A beat of silence fell between the two of you as Levi looked around, lost in his own thoughts. “I’ll help you find them,” he offered before nodding towards the stairs. You followed close behind him struggling to shove your way through the crowd until you realized Levi had stretched his hand out to grab hold of your wrist. “Stay close,” he called to you. It was a pleasant surprise that he had offered to help you at all. Half of you expected him to just reply with a simple “cool,” as what seemed to be his default response, and be done with it. Instead, he was dragging you up the stairs and shoving people out of the way on your behalf. You blushed as you realized what this might look like to the random onlooker.
Before you could relish the idea any longer, Levi dropped your hand as he found a clearing by the railing at the upstairs landing where there was a decent view of the party going on downstairs. “It’s easier to find someone when you have a bird’s-eye view,” he explained as his eyes seemed to scan the sea of partygoers.
You turned your attention to where he was looking before spotting Armin’s golden blonde hair and Jean’s sandy brown, both unmistakable from your point of view. “There they are,” you noted excitedly. Levi scoffed in amusement at how a simple observation got you so excited. “It looks like Armin’s… occupied,” you chuckled to yourself. Armin was locked deep in a passionate kiss with Annie, his now-girlfriend. You decided you’d best not bother him and sighed in relief when you saw Jean was just chatting idly with Connie near the door.
Levi walked with you back down the stairs until you found Jean, who smiled and greeted you with a hug. “Hey, stranger.” He looked at Levi with a wave. “Hey b-” he cleared his throat. “Hey Levi.”
A scoff escaped Levi’s lips as they formed into a smirk. “Hey, Jeanbo.” Jean’s face immediately fell into a frown.
“Only my mom– how do you even know about that?” Jean ran a hand down his face as Connie laughed beside him.
“You leave your brightness all the way up when you text your mom from your laptop in class,” Levi explained, much to Jean’s dismay. “And you have the default font size of a billboard ad.”
Connie put a hand on Jean’s shoulder and shook his head in laughter. “I’m gonna go ahead, Jeanbo. See you around.” He waved goodbye at the three of you before disappearing into the crowd.
“On that note, I think I’m gonna go too,” Jean pouted as he watched you laugh along.
Levi watched your hand as it flew up to grab Jean’s elbow as he turned away. “Wait,” you sighed as your laughter died down. “I was gonna ask if you could walk me home, since Eren and Armin are… otherwise occupied.”
Jean’s eyebrow shot up as his eyes moved between your hand that tugged at his sleeve and the steely gray eyes that seemed to be intensely boring down on his. He paused for a second before finally answering you. “I don’t mind but–”
“I’m Hange’s designated driver, and they live an hour away,” Levi seemed to answer Jean’s question before it even came out. You turned to look at Levi, still unreadable as ever, and wondered why he answered so quickly.
“I see,” Jean replied skeptically before turning to you with a shrug. “I’m ready whenever you are.”
You nodded to Jean and the three of you walked towards the door where Levi hung back and leaned against the door frame as you moved past him. You weren’t sure if you were on hugging terms with Levi yet (or if he even had hugging terms for that matter), so you opted to give him a wave instead.
“See you around?” you smiled at Levi warmly. Maybe his stare wasn’t as icy as you originally thought because his eyes seemed to soften. Maybe it was just in your head, but that would’ve been fine too.
“See you around.”
Nope, his eyes definitely softened.
@dewdropdinosaur Thank you for this sweet one-shot and your hashtags I had to include as so true. I may struggle to fall in love, but I am still willing treat my hypothetical sweetheart like the Morticia to my Gomez. That couple in a ways taught me more about a healthy relationship than most depicted relationships in media. Life even overall, as well I adore the common head canon bi4bi with the two.
Either Way, What Bliss
ROSIE X M READER
Summary: With the impending war against Heaven looming, who better than to ask for advice than Rosie and her very affectionate husband?
Warnings: NONE.
Requested by @pixie-skull Enjoy!
REQUESTS OPEN
In the dark, decadent heart of Hell, the Hazbin Hotel stood as a sanctuary for wayward souls seeking redemption. Rosie, the charming and enigmatic demoness, had carved out a reputation as the go-to source for advice on matters of the heart, head, and herasy. Her husband, Y/N, a calm and wise presence by her side, was equally revered for his counsel on friendship and loyalty, though he preferred to differ to his wife on most matters. Mainly because he was too preoccupied holding her hand to care of the matter at hand.
The hotel was bustling with activity, demons and sinners of all kinds milling about, seeking solace and guidance. The looming threat of war with Adam’s angels and Heaven had cast a shadow over the denizens of Hell, and the patrons of the Hazbin Hotel were no exception. Amidst the chaos, Rosie and Y/N found themselves inundated with requests for advice.
One evening, as the crimson sky outside darkened further, Charlie approached the couple.Y/N had his arm linked with Rosie’s, placing a tender kiss on her cheek. Only a cough from Charlie and nudge from his wife, stopped his affection with a sour look upon his face. Her eyes were filled with worry, her hands wringing nervously, though she kept a plastered smile on her face.
"Rosie, Y/N, I would…no need your help," she began, her voice trembling. "Vaggie and I have been…struggling a but, and with the angels threatening us, I'm scared we'll drift apart due to her…previous alignments."
Rosie offered Charlie a warm smile, her eyes twinkling with understanding. "Why, love is tested in times of crisis, my dear!" she said gently tugging on her cheek a little.
Y/N stepped forward, placing a reassuring hand on the princess’ shoulder. "Communication is key. You need to sit down and talk, really talk, about your fears and worries. Be honest and open. Remember, you're in this together." Gently grabbing Rosie’s hand, Y/N spun her in a display. “Gotta trust each other even when random stuff happens, you gotta go with the flow with your partner, easy as dancing child.” He then dipped Rosie and placed a soft kiss on her neck.
The princess nodded, a glimmer of hope returning to her eyes. "Thank you, both of you. I'll try to talk to her tonight."
As the night wore on, Rosie and Y/N continued to offer their wisdom and support to the hotel patrons. Despite the impending threat from the angels, a sense of unity and hope began to blossom within the Hazbin Hotel. The couple's guidance helped the demons forge stronger bonds of love and friendship, giving them the strength to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
After a long day of offering counsel to the worried patrons, Rosie returned to Cannibal Town, her shoulders slumping with exhaustion once she entered the dark hallways of the Emporium. The faint light of the bedroom’s dim lamp cast a warm glow across the room, highlighting the elegant yet cozy decor that spoke volumes about the couple's shared taste. Y/N was already there, waiting for her, his eyes lighting up the moment she walked through the door.
"Hello, Cher," he greeted her softly, crossing the room to envelop her in a tender embrace. "You look tired."
Rosie melted into his arms, the tension easing from her body as she buried her face in his chest. Y/N gently tilted her chin up, his eyes locking onto hers with a depth of affection that made her heart flutter. "You're incredible, you know that? The way you help everyone, the way you care… I'm in awe of you every single day cara mia."
Rosie blushed, a rare sight that Y/N cherished. "Oh you flatter me, Y/N."
He led her to the plush sofa by the window, where they could see the dark, fiery landscape of Hell outside. But the view didn't matter to them; it was the comfort of each other's presence that provided solace. Y/N sat down and pulled Rosie into his lap, wrapping his arms around her waist as she leaned back against his chest.
For a moment, they simply sat in silence, savoring the closeness. Y/N's hands moved gently, one tracing soothing patterns on her back, the other threading through her hair. Rosie closed her eyes, a contented sigh escaping her lips.
Y/N's hand slid down to intertwine with hers, their fingers fitting together perfectly. "No matter what happens, Rosie, I want you to know that I'll always be here for you. We'll get through this together, just like we always have."
In that moment, the world outside faded away. The looming war, the fear, and the uncertainty were all distant concerns. Here, in the embrace of the one she loved, Rosie found the strength and comfort she needed. And as Y/N held her close, he silently vowed to protect and cherish her, come what may.
The next day, in the grand foyer of the Hazbin Hotel, Alastor, the Radio Demon, stood with his usual air of eerie confidence. His ever-present grin and vintage microphone added a touch of old-world charm to his otherwise intimidating presence. Despite his sinister reputation, there was an unspoken bond between him and Rosie, and by extension, Y/N.
Y/N approached Alastor with a determined yet respectful demeanor. The Radio Demon raised an eyebrow, his grin widening as Y/N drew closer. "Ah, Y/N! What a lovely surprise!”
Y/N smiled, his gratitude evident in his eyes. "Alastor, I wanted to thank you."
Alastor's grin faltered for a split second, replaced by genuine curiosity. "Oh? And what, pray tell, have I done to deserve your gratitude?"
Y/N glanced around, ensuring they had a moment of privacy. "For introducing me to Rosie. I don't think I ever properly thanked you for that."
Alastor's eyes twinkled with amusement and a hint of nostalgia. "Ah, yes. Our dear Rosie. It seems like just yesterday I was playing matchmaker, doesn't it?" He chuckled, the sound echoing with a touch of static. "But tell me, Y/N, what brings on this sudden burst of sentimentality?"
Y/N shrugged, his smile softening. "With everything going on—the war, the fear—it made me realize how lucky I am to have her. I owe a lot of that to you."
Alastor's grin returned in full force, but there was a warmth behind it that he rarely showed. "Well, well, well. I must say, I do have a knack for bringing people together." He leaned in slightly, his tone conspiratorial. "But in all seriousness, Y/N, I'm glad she has you. You've been good for her."
Y/N's expression turned earnest. "And she's been everything to me. So, thank you, Alastor. For everything."
The Radio Demon waved a hand dismissively, but the gesture was softened by a rare look of genuine affection. "Think nothing of it, my friend. Just promise me one thing."
"Anything, as long as your green voodoo ain’t attached." Y/N replied without hesitation.
Alastor's eyes glinted with a mix of mischief and sincerity. "Take….care of her.”
Y/N nodded, his resolve unwavering. "I will. I promise."
With that, Alastor's grin took on its usual sharp edge, but the moment of camaraderie lingered. "Good. Now, off you go. I'm sure our dear Rosie is wondering where you've wandered off to. Though she has always made it a habit to lose a husband one way or another."
Y/N chuckled, giving Alastor a grateful nod before turning to leave, his eyes brightening upon seeing his wife inthe foyer and rushing to her side; which he would not leave until his second death did them part.
Alright, it's time for me to over analyze another scene from Wednesday through my Wenclair tinted glasses, this time it's about the scene where Morticia says goodbye to Wednesday.
Morticia is a psychic, and she was very determined to send Wednesday to Nevermore. I don't think it's a stretch to say that she knew something others didn't, but this scene in particular is full of so many little things that point to it. First of all,
Tumblr media
The Addams' defining feature is that they love and support each other. Even if they make 'non traditional' life choices. If Wednesday truly didn't want to fall in love, They wouldn't care, as long as she was happy. There's no reason for Morticia to be hurt by this statement.
Tumblr media
Look where her eyes are pointing.
Tumblr media
She's looking past Wednesday completely and staring in the direction Wednesday came from. It can be assumed, since she has just changed clothes, that in the direction she came from is Ohelia hall. Morticia's not the one who was hurt by Wednesday's reluctance for relationships. You know who was hurt by it?
Tumblr media
And you know who else was hurt by it?
Tumblr media
She covered that, too.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
And she's looks past Wednesday there, too!
The bit that really solidified the theory for me that she had a vision about Wednesday is this little gesture
Tumblr media
The way she starts to reach out for that shoulder specifically, but stops herself. The shoulder that got shot. Wednesday was fine with Pugsley and Gomez fully hugging her in this scene, so it's pretty clear her touch aversion doesn't extend to her family. It's Morticia who decides against touching that shoulder. She knows she'll trigger another vision, perhaps?
Lastly, right at the start of this scene,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her eyes still look right past Wednesday towards Ohelia hall, and you CAN'T tell me that isn't the definition of a knowing smile.
She knows that being here is what's ultimately going to make Wednesday happy, and though it might make Morticia sad, she knows it's best that she play the villain for now until Wednesday can see her true reasoning.
Valentines With Alastor
Tumblr media
Alastor, being the gentlemen he is, never forgets valentines day. He always shows up at your door with gifts or ready to take you on a date, anywhere you want to go.
Yes, anywhere you want to go, he'll take you. But he personally loves to take you out dancing.
When it's just you two alone, dancing together, it's like something out of a dream. It's one of the more intimate things you two do. The best way to describe it, is similar to how Morticia and Gomez Addams dance.
Speaking of-
Morticia and Gomez is the perfect way to describe your relationship. Alastor just might best Gomez when it comes to the love he has for his partner.
Always keeping you close, always leaving soft kisses along your skin, always professing his love for you.
He loved you so much it hurts. But it's a good ache, one he anticipates every time he looks at you, or hears your lovely voice breath his name.
He's planning on marrying you btw.
(Just in time for Valentines Day!)
(You know, that whole Morticia and Gomez thing has got me thinking of an imagine/one-shot idea...)
Thots about Marine!Billy…
(Canon typical violence, blood, attachment issues, obsession, dark themes, fem.)
Billy had his rifle over his lap, waiting for the enemy to make a move. It had been an ambush, and a lot of their men had died. One who’d joked with Billy earlier that day and played cards with him and Frank the night before, they had to leave behind as he bled out, screaming.
Billy was covered in his blood, and shaking, insides quivering. He’d always hated attachments. His mother proved that relationships were ephemeral. That people were after themselves.
But he mourned that man’s death whether he admitted it or not, and he reached into his pocket, pulling out your keychain he’d swiped. It was a pigtailed blonde vampire from a game you were obsessed with. He took you with him at every mission through its presence, but was careful not to let the other men see. He’d kill someone over that little red and black sparkly fanged thing if they tried taking it.
He didn’t understand his vicious attachment to the thing, other than it was a sharp reminder he was loved like a double edged sword, you had promised to wait for him. The promise of someone waiting at home for him was sweet.
He pressed his mouth to it, and swore he could smell your perfume clinging to it. Or maybe he was just goddamn tired, and hallucinating.
He quickly pocketed it as Frank moved over, a wry grin on his face. “Gonna accidentally swallow that keychain eventually, Bill?” He asked teasingly, passing a flask to Billy.
Billy choked on the moonshine. “It’s nothin’.” He hedged, wiping his chin.
Frank looked out into the desert. It was quiet right now. The calm before the storm. He turned back. “What woman gave it to you?” He asked, taking the flask back, drinking from it himself.
Billy’s jaw ticked. He didn’t want to share you with anyone. He wanted to keep your sweet memory and his infatuation to himself. Mostly he didn’t want to look like a fool when he returned and you had inevitably found someone else, and moved out of 2B. That you didn’t want to be buried with him anymore like Morticia Addams.
“We can be like those skeletons found holding each for thousands of years. Decomposing together until we turn to dust, and all that’s left of us are memory we once existed.” You had said, tucking hair behind his ear, sitting on the fire escape with him while he smoked.
“They’ll say, who’s this asshole with the pretty girl.” He said, blowing out smoke.
You giggled. “I’d be bones.”
He looked at you, “The memory you loved is enough.”
You had picked at your sweater. “I don’t want you to leave.”
Billy cupped your chin, “I gotta. Boss says so.”
“I’ll put a horse head in his bed.” You said fiercely, chin jutting out.
He laughed, shaking his head. “The Corleone’s would be proud.”
You leaned into his touch. “You’re mine.”
“Yeah, I’m yours.” He said, resigned.
Frank sat down next to him, and didn’t press any further, and Billy was relieved, as he closed his pockets, not wanting to risk losing you. And just in time.
Forces were coming towards their hiding spot, shouts over their heads, and they readied their weapons. Frank turned to Billy. “You get home to her, so you can give her a kiss.” He said roughly, turning and firing at someone, his shot going through the guy’s head, dropping him.
In the darkness, Billy’s cheeks turned pink as they burned. But he didn’t have a chance to respond as someone shot at him, missing by a hair’s breadth away.
He would come home to you. He swore it.
He wanted your macabre embrace when life finally claimed you both.
Gay cod? Yessir
Price x husband reader, where they have kinda a relationship like the Addams family, yk Morticia and Gomer (?) and the rest of the team just teasing price for being so smitten
I love that kind of relationship, I live for "I love my wife and I'm devoted to her" trope BUT MAKE IT GAY!
Devoted to him
You are taller than him so when the task meets you they are really surprised by you being taller than their captain, you are tall and elegant while your husband it's...it's him, he is so smitten and devoted to your beauty is adorable, he kisses your hand, and puts a hand around your waist
You are the one 'in charge' in the relationship, kind of, you are elegant, mysterious and handsome and he is in love with you
Once you touch him he leans into your touch, you cup his cheek? He leans and brushes his hand against your hand, your wedding rings brushing against each other, you kiss his lips? He follows your lips whimpering softly
definition of German shepherd x black cat
He will pull you closer by your wait after a particular rough mission
Now for the one shot!!
Price was married, that wasn't a secret amongst the task 141, he had his wedding ring all the time in his finger, it's true that when soap asked who was the lucky woman price chuckle and said in a soft voice "woman? I have a husband mate" so yeah now the entire task knows their captain is fruity but when you enter the military it's kind of hard not to find LGBTQ+ folks, so one time after a mission they all where in a pub,. celebrating and everything when price talked
"I hope y'all don't mind but I thought you would like to meet my husband" he said drinking his beer
"we don't mind at all captain, ya always talk about 'im like a teenage talking about their crush ey" soap teased while the rest chuckle a bit
Price smiled when the door opened, it was you, you where...tall...you walked to price and he walked and kissed your hand, specifically the finger where your ring was, you kissed his cheek softly, making his cheeks heat up
"y'all must be the task, is nice to meet you! I'm price husband" you presented yourself
"its nice to meet you too mr.price" said Gaz, you chuckle and maked a soft motion with your hand "oh drop the titles, you can call me [redacted]"
And after that meeting soap and Gaz couldn't stop teasing price, but you are ether new father figure for the rest of the 141, good job
 i’ve seen some people saying that morticia and gomez would be wary of enid at first because of her pastel colour scheme but, as someone who’s parents really like The Addams Family and The Addams Family Values and therefore watched those a lot when they were younger, i think Morticia and Gomez would accept her right at the start and here’s why:
So, i think people might be thinking about the part in “Addams Family Values” where Morticia says this to Debbie:
Tumblr media
but, this doesn’t show that Moriticia and the rest of the Addams’ would shame someone for liking pastels. Sure, it might not be their favourite colours, but this is the one and only time when someone who a member of the family cares for is shamed for liking pastels/colour.
Even when Debbie originally joined the family as a nanny, her pastel colour scheme was never criticized by the Addams’. They never talked about her behind her back. Morticia and Gomez completely accepted Debbie when she and Fester went on a double date with them:
Tumblr media
and when Debbie and Fester got married and the entire Addams clan showed up and celebrated with her:
Tumblr media
It was only when Debbie forced Fester to stay away from his family and stopped showing him any care or affection and, you know, tried to kill him, that they began to dislike her. (also, I think Morticia might’ve said the pastels thing just to annoy Debbie).
And keep in mind, even when Debbie was about to kill them, the Addams’ didn’t hate her. They still felt compassionate for her and genuinely cared about her, and definitely did not hate her because of her love of pastels and jewelry and shopping.
Tumblr media
Also, there’s another person that proves that Addams’ wouldn’t shame someone for their love of colour: Margaret
Tumblr media
True, they did prank her and intentionally spook her a lot, but they never shamed her. It wasn’t because they didn’t like her bright colours, it was more just for fun. But, when she joined the family by marrying Cousin It, no one ever shunned her for her love of pink.
Tumblr media
Now, some people might say, what about the campers like Amanda in Addams Family Values? (or maybe no one would say this but i just want to talk about it).
Tumblr media
True, the Addams’ didn’t like the summer camp, but remember, even though they didn’t personally like it, Morticia and Gomez still let their kids do the things they wanted to do (or what they believed their kids wanted to do because of what Debbie said but that’s besides the point). And it’s true that they didn’t like Amanda, but that wasn’t because she was blonde and liked pastels, Amanda was just a little bitch.
Tumblr media
Right off the bat, she was rude and condescending to Wednesday. Amanda’s pastels, like Debbie’s, are just to add to the irony/satire of the Addams Family. In the majority of TV and movies, the blonde, pastel-coloured girls are the perfect, generous heroines, and the Addams Family Values takes these tropes and satirizes them. It makes them into the villains, but this does not mean that the Addams’ inherently hate pastels.
The Addams’ are a satirical inversion of the ideal American nuclear family, and they are constantly proven to be loving and caring people who accept everyone that needs them. They wouldn’t hate someone for their aesthetic, just disprove of them if they were a terrible person.
When Wednesday met Enid, Enid enthusiastically welcomed Wednesday, and then respected Wednesday’s boundaries when she didn’t go in for a hug. Enid proved herself to be a good person from the start. (Also I think Enid can be considered to be a foil to Amanda but that’s a whole other thing that i don’t have time to get into right now - Edit: I wrote another post about this)
Tumblr media
And that is why the Addams’ wouldn’t be wary of Enid because of her colour scheme. She’s proven herself to be a genuinely nice and respectful person, and the Addams’ don’t actually hate people for liking bright colours. They’ve always taken a stance of “innocent until proven guilty” and always give people a shot.
tldr: Morticia and Gomez don’t dislike people for liking pastels, they dislike them for being terrible people, and even then they’re still kind and generous towards these people and are always willing to welcome and accept them. Therefore, they would absolutely love Enid.
