Worthy of an Emperor
Tumblr media
Summary: When abundantly worshipped, the Gods would send one of their own to the leaders of Rome as a thank you and reward for their loyalty. As a daughter of Jupiter, you would have never assumed that one day, your peaceful life would be altered forever, as your father sees you as the perfect gift, and bride-to-be for a certain Roman emperor.  (Emperor Geta x daughter of Jupiter!reader)
warnings: Smut, 18+, dubcon, (if you squint), Historical inaccuracies, mythological inaccuracies (come on y'all, who saw this movie for the history), arranged marriage.
Word count: 2.2k
REQUESTS OPEN
I have not written a fanfic in a very VERY long time so I might be a little rusty. Nonetheless, enjoy!
As a demi-god, your life was more lavish than most young women. Your mother, the daughter of a senator, was seduced by the God many years ago resulting in your conception. And since your birth, a life at court and amongst the most powerful families and men in Rome has been your world.
Ever since you came of age, nearly every man you passed gazed in your direction. Enchanted by your divinity. Not that you paid it much mind, you were preoccupied with texts, maps, scrolls, and the animals that surrounded the palace. Whatever path your future held was not one that worried you or one you particularly thought about. As long as you had your freedom, what was there to stress about?
Which is why when your father Jupiter, king of the Gods told you that you were to marry one of the twin Emperors of Rome, you almost laughed in his face.
“Tell me you are joking?” It was a warm spring day, Summer just on the horizon, while crouching down, you tending to your plants and flowers in the palace garden, your father shot down from the heaven’s in a bolt of lightning startling you.
“I am afraid I am not. Although I cannot imagine why such news would upset you. Being the bride to one of the most powerful men in all of the Empire.” Your father explained, lecturing you as if you were a child.
“You don’t know Emperor Geta the way I do.” You replied grimly, focusing again at the flora in front of you.
Your contact with the infamous red haired tyrant and his brother has been limited. The few times you were in his vicinity were not particularly found moments. Most of which included the terrible Gladiator tournaments. Spectacles of senseless violence in your opinion. The Emperors would shout and scream and whatever poor souls were sent to fight to the death. The knowledge that he took enjoyment from such brutality gave you everything you needed to know about him.
What you didn’t know however, was that during these games, the Emperor’s eyes would often wander to search for you in the crowd. It was not a particularly difficult task. You quite literally shined out amongst the mortal spectators, a sight more pleasing than the gory entertainment provided.
During one particular game, as your eyes scanned the box of senators and generals, attempting to distract yourself from the bloody battles below, your vision locked with him. He, like all men who were fortunate enough to gaze upon you, became mesmerized. Your soft skin, and graceful body made Geta dig his nails in the arms of his regal chair at his desire to have you.
“The Emperor has built me a new temple and has been consistently leaving offerings, being my most faithly worshiper, and in return I have decided to gift him the best thing a God can offer a mortal.”
At this, you shot up from your crouched position. “I am not a present to be offered.” You declared. “I don’t care if he built you a million temples, I would never marry such a man.” Anyone would be crazy to challenge a proclamation from a God, much less the king of them all. But you weren’t just anyone. Divine blood ran through your veins, and your fate would not be bound to a man as sadistic as him.
“You forget that you don’t have a say in this matter. I can think of worse lives than one as the empress of Rome.”
“Please.” Your anger had turned to desperation. “I am sure there are other ways to bless and reward Emperor Geta.”
Your father slowly started walking towards you as he spoke. “I have already promised the Emperor that you are to be his. And I am not one to turn back on an oath.”
You have never experienced such anger. Promising such a thing before even consulting with you. But a promise from God was as good as done.
“You need not fret about Geta. He wouldn’t dare hurt a daughter of Jupiter.” You scoffed. Of course your safety was in good hands, but that meant nothing for your happiness.
“I do hope your sentiment changes. I heard that the wedding is to be the grandest Rome has ever seen.” Another woman would have been bouncing up and down from glee. What you would give to trade places with her.
“You are to be formally presented to the Emperor tonight. Do make a good impression.” It was the last words your father spoke before a flash of lightning whisked him away to the heavens, leaving you and your racing thoughts alone.
***
You were escorted by your mother to the main hall where your husband-to-be stood there waiting. Upon hearing the news of your engagement, one might have thought it would be her to marry the emperor.
“To think that my own girl will soon be the empress of Rome.” She pressed her hand to her heart at the sentiment. “Gods know you were meant for such a life.”
Your heart was pounding as you made your way to the thrones. Eyes fighting back tears as your destiny awaits you.
“Emperors.” Your mother began, “may I present my daughter, y/n.” She practically shoved you in front of her, placing you front and center before the twin tyrants.
“Imperators.” You bowed your head softly at a feeble attempt to humble yourself.
Geta immediately shot up from his seat to approach you. Eager to get his hands on his eventual wife.
Taking several paces forward, you and the emperor’s face stood mere inches away from yours as his eyes scanned your face and body, relishing the sight in front of him.
“Oh yes, she will do quite nicely.” He uttered, sending a nervous chill up your spine. “Your father spoke far too little of how beautiful you are. But there are not enough offerings in the world to thank Jupiter for such a bride. I certainly look forward to having you by my side y/n.” His brown eyes left one more piercing gaze into yours before turning away with the rest of his advisors and senators.
You let your eyes close as you took a deep breath trying to calm your nerves.
He wouldn’t dare hurt me. You reminded yourself. You are a daughter of Jupiter, you are part God, there is no future that awaits you that you cannot handle.
***
Everything happened so fast. Within two days, your once peaceful life had turned to non stop preparations for the upcoming nuptials.
Even you had to admit, the dress given to you was lovely. Chosen by Geta himself, the handmaiden proclaimed as she adorned you in luxurious fabrics and gold.
You hardly recognized your reflection staring back at you in the mirror. Despite you heritage, you never felt particularly better or more deserving than any other young Roman women. Or your life would be anything too out of the ordinary for a high born.
Looking back now, what a fool you have been. Your whole life, you have been a pawn in-waiting for the fastest man who had the resources to claim a divine bride. And who other than one of the emperors himself.
The next thing you knew, vows were spoken, music was playing, and every person around you was smiling and laughing, drunk off the finest wines in the Empire.
“You have hardly touched your food empress.” Geta spoke, drawing attention to the final word of his sentence.
“I am not a hungry imperator.” You responded, voice sounding as neutral as possible.
“We are married now, love. Geta will suffice.”
Unexpectedly. He placed his ringed hand on top of yours. “I do hope that your mother prepared you well for what to expect as a new wife.”
You shuddered as your muscles clenched. Of course you knew, your mother, along with the other ladies at court well explained to you what happens on a wedding night. But with the unexpectedness of it all and the hectic planning, the thought barely crossed your mind.
Turning to face him finally, you managed to croak out a response. “I am aware.”
“Splendid.” Geta squeezed your hand fervently. “I hope you know how lucky I am to have you as a bride.”
“Why me?” You blurted out. It was impossible to keep the question inside of you. “You could have had anyone. Someone to strengthen the growth of the Empire. Just because of my blood does not mean I will serve any use to you or Rome.” Your new husband smirked arrogantly.
“Our soldiers and generals are stronger than you think. I didn’t marry you for the sake of the Empire. We are already unstoppable. The second I laid my eyes on you in the Colosseum I knew I had to have you. Why do you think I built that damn temple in the first place? For fun?” Your breath got caught in your throat.
“Caracalla is throwing a fit at the fact that I get to have a divine bride.” He laughed, clearly amused with himself.
“To think that you are now all mine.” Before you knew it, he smashed his warm lips onto yours in a feaverent kiss.
“Enjoy the festivities my love.” He broke off the contact suddenly leaving you gasping in shock before turning to you one last time. “I promise what awaits you tonight will be even better.”
***
It was a warm night, but that did nothing to stop your chills. The party was still in full swing in the halls of the palace, but Geta was growing impatient to have you all to himself, alone.
You looked out the window and onto the streets. What you would give to be just an ordinary girl, but ordinary was never meant for you.
“Come here my love.” Geta grabbed your hand and made you face towards him. Like before, he pulled you in for another kiss, this one deeper, more intense, more needy.
As the kiss continued, Geta started to slowly strip away your clothes. His hands tugged at the ropes holding up your gown and it fell to your feet, leaving you completely exposed.
Once naked, he placed his hand on the back of your neck, lightly squeezing it. “All mine.” His gaze continued to relish the sight of you.
“Please.” You began. What you were pleading for, you didn’t know, but from what you have seen of the emperor, it was anyone’s guess what he was capable of.
“Don’t worry, empress, I will be gentle.” guiding you towards the bed, you laid down on the soft mattress, eyes shut so tight you felt they might never open. Perhaps you would be able to find some pleasure in this. From the few whispers you were able to snatch, the ladies of the palace spoke of great satisfaction and delight of their intimate moments with lovers and husbands. While the conditions are not to your liking, maybe there is something to be enjoyed.
At the foot of the bed, you could hear Geta’s heavy fabrics drop to the ground. A second later, he started climbing on top of you.
“There is no need to worry.” He whispered in your ear. “You are half god after all, I have every intention of treating you as such.”
His hands made their way down as his thumb started rubbing your clit gently.
A moan escaped your lips at the sensation. For the first time this night, your body started to relax, taking in the pleasurable sensation as your new husband had his way with you.
He soon stopped and his fingers traveled lower, towards your entrance as he slid a finger in and out tortuously.
“Wet already are we?” His question needed no response. Geta was clearly amused at his once reluctant bride now softly moaning right under him.
Once you finally felt adjusted, he slid a second finger in without warning, stretching you out even more as his pace continued while sounds of pleasure left your mouth. It felt like an eternity when he finally stopped.
“I’ve waited long enough to have you, I believe my patience has finally run out."
You dared to open your eyes and swallowed at the sight of his erect manhood, not knowing if your body was capable of consuming such a thing.
Before you had any time to prepare yourself, Geta already started making his way inside of you.
In one excruciatingly slow motion, the flaming haired emperor stretched you out to the limit as you arched your back.
Your eyes clenched shut again, trying to adjust to his size. His thrusts were slow, but the pain slowly faded away, replaced by a building pressuring in your sensitive area.
The thrusts started to pick up pace as you let out another groan. Soon, you felt his fingers touch your chin and lift it upwards.
“Look at me y/n.” He pleaded.
Your eyelids softened, but you did not fully open them, still unwilling to look at Geta in the eyes.
“Please.” His voice now desperate. Gone was the sadistic emperor you once knew.
At that, you finally opened your eyes and stared into his dark orbs. His movements became more wild, and the building pressure inside of you reached its climax as you released a sob of relief.
Geta followed soon after, collapsing on top of you as warm fluids filled your insides.
You painted, trying to come down from the incredible high you just experienced.
“I know you don’t love me.” Your husband said, voice a bit dry upon finishing the consummation. “But maybe one day you will.”

GODS FAVORITE MORTAL.
YANDERE God X UNNATURAL reader
Prompt: you came out of no where! The only thing he didn’t create, where did you come from?
Tumblr media
You were just a simple worshipper, just like your mother and father before you, and theirs before them.
Though the more you began to stop coming to worship the more he paid attention to you!
Why did his sweet creation not want to praise him anymore? Did the goals he gave you not help you enough!
YANDERE GOD! who ruins your love life because who wants you to fall in love with him, yet you just insist on dating people!
YANDERE GOD! Who lets you off the hook once or twice with your jokingly blasphemy.
When he “created” you at first you were like the regular bunch, he loved you and he’d take care of you like the rest if you let him.
Though you started to intrigue him, a weird calling to you. He was all knowing, yet this feeling was indescribable.
YANDERE GOD! Who immediately stalks watches over you.
YANDERE GOD! Who was a little scared at first, he was God, so where did this feeling come from?! Was this what humans called romantic love?
YANDERE GOD! Who couldn’t believe it, this wasn’t according to plan but immediately began to subtly communicate with you. Which accidentally lead you to believing you were schizophrenic.
YANDERE GOD! Who convinces you to keep this to yourself, wondering why he couldn’t remember creating you, wondering why he couldn’t read your mind?
“Since we’re close and all God, can you give me a boyfriend it doesn’t even have to be-”
“No”
YANDERE GOD! Who refuses to intervene in your life! (Except when you almost fall in love like he intended before he saw you) you must learn like any normal person!
YANDERE GOD! Who calls you his divine, and subtly flirts with you, who praises your appearance and soul.
YANDERE GOD! Who refuses to let you die, you always manage to survive countless of accidents unscathed!

Myths with Zeus
War of the Titans: In this myth, Zeus' father, Cronus, has received the prophecy that one of his children will dethrone him. Out of fear, Cronus swallows all of his children as soon as his wife, Rhea, births them. Rhea manages to sneak out one, Zeus. Eventually, Zeus saves his siblings and starts a revolution against his father, resulting in a 10-year war called the Titanomachy. Zeus and his siblings end up victorious, and Cronus is dethroned and thrown into the pit of Tartarus.
Vows of Chasity: At the request of Hestia and Artemis, Zeus vowed that he would accept the two to remain as virgin Goddesses.
Reconciliation of Zeus and Hera: Hera was mad at Zeus and left Olympus for unknown reasons. Zeus couldn't change her mind, so he went to the cleverest man in the land, Kithaeron. Kithaeron told Zeus to spread the news that he would marry a nymph and craft a wooden statue to play the bride. Zeus did so, and naturally, Hera came back angry. However, instead of a wedding, Zeus surprised Hera with a grand festival (called Daidala), and the two reconciled.
Hera & the Lust of Ixon: Ixon, a mortal King, fell in love with Hera during a visit to Olympus. He tried to rape Hera, to which Hera immediately reported to Zeus. To see if what she said was true, Zeus created a cloud in the sky which looked like Hera. Ixon, who saw the cloud and thought it was Hera, attacked it. Zeus punished Ixon by binding him to an eternally spinning wheel of fire in Tartarus.
Forgiveness of Cronus and the Titans: After many, many generations of Humans, Zeus forgave his father, Cronus, and freed him (and Cronus' brothers) from their prison in Tartarus. Zeus then made Cronus the King of the Elysian Islands (Home of Dead Heroes and the otherwise Blessed).

Orphic Hymn 15: To Zeus
"O Zeus, much-honoured, Zeus supremely great, to thee our holy rites we consecrate, our prayers and expiations, king divine, for all things to produce with ease through mind is thine.
Hence mother earth and mountains swelling high proceed from thee, the deep and all within the sky. Kronion (Cronion) king, descending from above, magnanimous, commanding, sceptred Zeus; all-parent, principle and end of all, whose power almighty shakes this earthly ball; even nature trembles at thy mighty nod, loud-sounding, armed with lightning, thundering god.
Source of abundance, purifying king, O various-formed, from whom all natures spring; propitious hear my prayer, give blameless health, with peace divine, and necessary wealth."
Homeric Hymn 23: To the Son of Cronos
“I will sing of Zeus, chiefest among the gods and greatest, all-seeing, the lord of all, the fulfiller who whispers words of wisdom to Themis as she sits leaning towards him.
Be gracious, all-seeing Son of Cronos, most excellent and great!”

Dark Platonic Ancient Egyptian Deities X Reincarnated! Reader
Ra (god of the Sun and King of the Gods)
As the father figure of the pantheon, Ra takes a patriarchal protector role. He insists you stay close to him in his solar barque, safe from the dangers of the mortal and divine realms.
He grows obsessive about shielding you from chaos especially Apophis, even refusing to let you leave his sight during the night.
Ra often calls you his 'ray of light,' claiming that your presence eases his eternal burden of maintaining Ma’at (cosmic order).
Isis (goddess of Magic and Motherhood)
Isis becomes a motherly figure, fiercely nurturing and protective.
She insists on teaching you spells and protective charms, even if they’re far too hard for you.
She forbids you from interacting with anyone she deems 'unworthy,' claiming she’s the only one who understands how to keep you safe.
Her possessiveness is crude and unyielding; she uses her magic to track you and ensure no harm comes to you, even if it means manipulating others around you.
Osiris (god of the Underworld and Rebirth)
Osiris is calm but quietly obsessive.
He views you as a symbol of renewal and life, a bright presence that balances his somber existence.
Maybe that's because he knows that you are a reincarnation?
Oh wait, he is the one who had you reincarnated in the first place.
He tries to keep you within his underworld domain, rationalizing that it’s the safest place for you, free from earthly or divine dangers.
Osiris has a slightly eerie way of expressing his affection, saying things like,
“You belong to eternity, just like I do.”
Anubis (god of Mummification and Protector of the Dead)
Anubis is like an older sibling who takes his role as your guardian far too seriously.
He constantly watches over you, often from the shadows.
His possessiveness appears as distrust of anyone else, mortal or divine, who tries to approach you.
He justifies this by claiming his duty as a protector.
If you ever get hurt, even slightly, he blames himself and becomes even more overbearing, ensuring no one gets close enough to harm you again.
As for the person who harms you, they will get mummified alive.
Horus (god of Kingship and Sky)
Horus is fiercely territorial, viewing you as his personal charge.
He sees himself as your rightful protector, fighting off any perceived threats to your safety or happiness.
And it doesn't help that his mother, Isis, encouraged him to be like that.
He’s competitive, constantly trying to prove that he’s the only one who can protect you.
He often gets into arguments with other gods over who should have custody of you.
His eagle-eyed vigilance means you’re rarely alone, as he swoops in at the slightest hint of trouble or perceived disobedience.
Set (god of Chaos and Storms)
Surprisingly, Set sees you as a calming impact in his chaotic life.
Your innocent, pure nature makes him protective, almost soft-hearted in your presence.
He grows extremely possessive, believing that only he understands what it means to protect you in a world full of danger and betrayal.
Set doesn’t shy away from using intimidation or brute force to keep others away from you, including the other gods.
He is the first one who suggests that the deities should turn you into immortal or even a goddess.
Thoth (god of Wisdom and Knowledge)
Thoth is fascinated by your knowledge of the modern world and becomes obsessed with learning everything he can from you.
He is the only one after Osiris that knows that you are reincarnated.
He justifies keeping you close, by saying it’s for 'scholarly purposes' yet we all know that he enjoys your childlike curiosity.
He tries to isolate you, offering endless books and scrolls while discouraging interactions with others, fearing they might distract or corrupt you.
"I have found a new rare scroll, who about we read it both together instead of going out for a walk?"
Bastet (goddess of Cats, Home, and Protection)
Bastet is smothering affectionate, treating you like a fragile kitten.
She insists on keeping you within her temples, surrounded by her sacred cats.
She’s fiercely territorial and sees anyone approaching you as a threat.
Her claws come out literally if anyone tries to take you away from her.
Bastet’s love is suffocatingly warm, she showers you with gifts, affection, and constant attention, leaving little room for independence.
Sekhmet (goddess of War and Healing)
Sekhmet is a ferocious guardian, seeing herself as your warrior and protector.
She’s quick to destroy anything or anyone by draining their blood, but only those who she perceives as a danger to you.
And she perceives every human as a danger.
Despite her fearsome nature, she’s surprisingly tender with you, often calling you “little one” and insisting on tending to your needs personally.
She becomes enraged at the idea of you being harmed or taken from her, leading to bursts of divine wrath that shake the mortal and divine realms.
Sobek (god of the Nile and Crocodiles)
Sobek views you as a fragile, precious being who needs constant protection.
He assigns himself as your personal guard, often scaring off others with his intimidating presence.
His possessive attitude appears in his insistence that you remain near water, claiming it’s the safest place for you.
He has a soft spot for you, often bringing you gifts like shiny trinkets or freshly caught fish.
"Why would you need to cook the fish, my dear? it's better if it is eaten raw."

you’re so special, to me (rio vidal)
Tumblr media
summary: nobody loves death. rio gets told a thousand times a day how much she's hated. but in the end, when it gets hard, there's always the one 'i love you' she can rely on. life's.
pairings: rio vidal x fem!reader
fic type: fluff with a smidge of angst
warnings: talks of death
word count: 1.08k
Tumblr media
“I hate you!” Exclaimed the grieving daughter as Rio stood near the hospital bed.
“I hate you!” Yelled the mother as Rio cradled her baby in her arms.
“I hate you!” Screamed the husband, his wife’s body delicately walking beside her.
“I hate you!” Said the father, watching her take his hurting son away.
I hate you, I hate you, I hate you.
Day in, day out, till the clocks stopped working. Year after year, since the world began spinning. All that hate, all that resentment.
Every time she would feel those rattling breaths, the halting hearts, the tears shed by their loved ones, the blood on the floor. She would feel their pulse against her fingertips, their timers ticking slower and slower. The sand running out from the hourglass.
She would take their hand, bring them peace, and the first thing to be said was “I hate you,”
Nobody loved death. This was a fact. There were exceptions: those who ran into her embrace, those who were cast away, those who were unloved, those who had nobody.
But in the end, it was always ‘I hate you’.
She would never admit it, but despite every single century, she had sat in the darkness and wept.
She’d watch you, envious.
You’d enter a room, and joy would follow. You’d make the hearts beat again, the pulse quicken. You’d form life in the wombs, you’d make little limbs move.
“You’re beautiful,” they all said.
You were wanted, you were what they wished for. Not her.
But she loved you. She loved your radiance, the light you carried. She loved the way your blessings were gentle, divine.
You made the cycle start again, made the flowers grow, the birds sing, and the grass sway, made the breath flow steady in the air.
You were Life.
She was the one that turned it all to ash. The one who snatched the breath away. She was the one who wilted the flowers, browned the grass, silenced the birds.
She was Death.
Yet when the time for tranquility came…there you were.
I hate you, I hate you, I—
“I love you,” you whispered. One whisper silenced the shouts.
“Why don’t they want me?” She asked, her hair falling softly onto her face as she lay with you—moments of rare peace.
“They are flawed creatures, my love,” you responded, ever tranquil and reasonable. “They don’t know the aid you provide, the peace, the release,”
“Nobody wants me,” she said, her tears staining her soft cheeks. Before they could fall on her robes your soft hand caught them, tender as a feather.
“I want you,” you said plainly.
“Why? All I bring is gloom and grief,”
“What you bring is peace and tranquility, cloaked behind the mortal blindness of grief,”
She listened to your heartbeat, she felt your warmth. She’d spent lifetime after lifetime taking, but could never give anything in return. You spend lifetime after lifetime only ever giving, only to never take anything to compensate.
“Selfless creature,” she scoffed. “You give and give and give, you never take,”
You pondered for a moment. “That is the consequence, my dear,”
“How?”
“I never have anything for myself,”
“You never get told you are hated, ever,” she countered plainly.
“The boy on the roof, the girl in the ward, the criminal in the prison,” you listed out. “Many hate life, but the sacred balance unfortunately rests the highest burden upon you, my love,”
“Life cannot love death,” she said.
“Yet I love you,” you replied, sealing your words with a kiss to her forehead. “You are my balance, you are my shadow, you are my everything,”
She smiled, a rare smile that brightened her eyes and warmed her heart. Unknowingly it did the same for you. It made her cold cheeks tint pink, made your own heart flutter.
“I am destruction,” she said.
“You are the destruction from which life begins again,” you whispered, fingertips trailing along her neck. “You are the rugged beauty of the mountains, the beauty of the fall, the beauty of a dandelion, of a thunderstorm,”
She felt your words calm her racing heart, she felt it drown out the sea of insults, she felt beautiful.
“I love you,” you said, with a conviction that only an angel could muster. “I love you as the sun loves the moon, as the sky loves the earth. I will keep loving you till the timer runs out, till the last grain of sand falls in the hourglass.
“You can pillage, you can murder, you can plunder. But even then I will see your wild, wild beauty, even then I will wonder like I do each and every day, how such a beautiful soul could love me as I am,”
She leaned up, her hands her support, giving Life a kiss, giving her beloved a kiss. Your lips moved in sync, a dance of gentle and harsh, light and darkness.
As you broke away, still so close that you were breathing each other’s air. She inhaled your scent—so clearly alive. Of moss and petrichor and spring and summer. She understood why your role was what it was.
You were the embodiment of comfort, of joy, of peace. You were the reason why she could keep going without withering away and remaining a mechanical shell of herself.
“You silence the voices within my mind,” she admitted quietly, her eyes locking in on yours. “Your eyes hold the universe, and out of the tens of millions of people who say they hate me, wish ill-will upon me, you are the only one who says you love me,”
Your eyes crinkled at the sides as you smiled, the universe within those heavenly irises shifting as it twinkled. “I will spend every single moment of my eternal existence reminding you that you are loved, Rio Vidal,”
She traced the lining of your lips, your face, your eyes with her fingertips. “Are you even real?”
“I exist only for you, my love,” you smiled. “And you’re so special, to me,”
That’s all she needed.
One voice amidst the thousands. One ‘I love you’ to break through the hate.
Just one you, to help her through it all.
And so Death settled in the embrace of Life, allowing the sand in the hourglass to fall, allowing the timer to tick. Each breath, first and last, thrummed through your synchronised heartbeats, and there she just stayed, listening to the one sentence which fell from your lips.
“I love you,”

I'd like to think that Athena doesn't know what a normal person is capable of and that's why she pushed Telemachus so hard. she's normally someone who surrounds herself with heroes born for greatness, not normal kids (I say kid but he is 20 years old, but I'm in my 30's so he's a kid to me).
Like she was never a kid being born a woman grown from her father's skull, her godly siblings were not normal either. Artemis helped her mother give birth to her twin seconds after being born. Hermes literally stole Apollo's cows and invented musical instruments days after being born
The the mortals she mentored
Heracles, son of Zeus and capable of strangling snakes in the crib, his strength is legendary amongst gods much less demigods
Perseus was able to kill medusa and go on a quest in his teens, also the son of Zeus
Odysseus was a child prodigy, great grandson of Hermes, capable of taking down a magic boar as a youth
Belleraphon and Theseus- sons of Poseidon capable of great feats of their youth blessed with great strength due to their father's blood
the only normal kid Athena ever interacted with was Diomedes, the son of her previous famous mortal. And he's probably one of the strangest on this list because he's a normal mortal guy and without divine blood is one of the scariest motherfuckers in greek mythology. When Odysseus gets banished to Calyso's island Telemachus was almost as old as Diomedes was when he went to win his first war.
Just saying Athena probably has a bit of a blindspot when it comes to what normal children can do because the only kids she ever really interacts with are superhumans like the demigods or freaks of nature like Diomedes. How is she supposed to know that a normal kid like Telemachus who has never learned to fight can't beat a grown man in hand to hand combat?

Fear vs War 2
Fright Knight was in Gotham trying to find his target. The clown was in Arkham, so he was going for the Scarecrow. He was hoping to find him before the rogue could spread any Artificial Fear. He was going for the Scarecrow's Minions, who preferred to go by goons, hoping to scare his location from them. when mortals meet him it triggered the 'fight or flight' instinct, as he was Phobos a God of fear. But in Gotham this was only a hinderance, because everyone choose fight. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.
Fright Knight: *trying to scare some info from a goon*
Orphan:...*Waves her hand to get his attention*
Fright Knight: *startled but doesent jump* Can i help you?
Orphan: *signs*
Fright Knight: I can speak all languages, but not sign language. Truly a flaw in Divinity.
Spoiler: She's asking who you are and what are you doing here?
Fright Knight: I am Fright Knight! Greek god of Fear and Right hand to the Ghost King. I am here to punish the rogue know as Scarecrow for his crimes against my domain. He is out of Arkham Yes?
Spoiler: He's in the Hospital getting a colonoscopy. Hes like 50.
Fright Knight: i also planned on giving him a colonoscopy. but very well. i suppose ill just have to go visit Wonder Woman.
Spoiler: to avenge you're Father?
Fright Knight: HA! No, i wish to thank her on her victory and introduce myself to my aunt.
Spoiler: ah Ares is a shit father huh? I know the feeling.
Fright Knight: I advise you avoid saying his name, But yes War is no kinder to children then it is anyone else. Worse even...
Orphan and Spoiler: *nods*
Spoiler: Hey i gotta say NICE purple flames.
Fright Knight: Its not really a choice. My mother is pink and my father is black. together it makes purple. I dont suppose i could convince you to keep this visit a secret from the Batman. My liege doesent want his attention and paranoia.
Spoiler: oh you absolutely could- *she stops and puts a hand to her ear and talks to someone on the comms*. Hey lets make a deal. theres a riot in Arkham asylum. you help us clean that up and Batman will never hear a word of this. Deal?
Fright Knight: Deal. now what do you have in mind?
Spoiler: *Grins evilly*
(insert any jojo theme here)
As Arkham's riot continued many Rogues, convicts, and psych patients were making a escape attempt only one vigilante stood in their way. Spoiler looking strangely buff with her face more defined and over animated(jojo style) stood alone. In front of the rioting mod she struck a pose and behind her a black and purple knight appeared. Both of them struck a pose and flexed as a aura of fear and terror washed over the mob making them flee back into Arkham and into there cells.
True to their deal Batman never heard a word of this. They used sign instead.

𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 - chapter I
previous -> next
(daella targaryen x benjicot blackwood)
don’t translate.
The sound of music mixed with loud laughter reached Benjicot's ears, but he seemed strangely annoyed with his surroundings.
Seated at one of the wooden tables in the main hall of his family's small fortress, he observed the reinforcements with a distant gaze, too bored to even hear the conversation of his friends and guests around him.
The torches along the walls were the only thing that illuminated those cold, dark walls, and strangely enough, the extreme intensity of the fire that surrounded them was the only thing that kept him in a better mood. With his index finger, Benjicot began to trace some patterns on the dark wooden table with his fingers, trying to ignore the sound that was in the place and instead listen to the storm that was outside.
He knew what that rain meant; the gods were angry, and deep down, he wanted to know who was stupid enough to anger them in such a way.
When he was still a little boy, Benjicot used to hear his mother tell him that every time a young soul dies, heaven weeps and welcomes him with open arms, and for a long time, he wanted to believe it. However, he ended up adopting the more rational version that his faith allowed him to have and that his father taught him: divine things don't cry, divine things punish.
The first mortal blow he dealt someone was also on a rainy day like this. He was still able to remember the raindrops that ran down his fingers, mixed with the blood of the first man he had killed, and how the sky seemed to thunder when he delivered the first blow to the enemy soldier's stomach. It was sickening; he knew that, but for some reason, he enjoyed the feeling of the gods' punishment mixed with the blood he himself had spilled. He was a hypocrite.
Benjicot was not stupid; he knew that many people were afraid of him. After all, there were rumors that he was a bloodthirsty psychopath and countless other slanders that he refused to listen to. But honestly, he didn't care about any of that. The battlefield was the only place where he truly felt himself. The chaos and danger, the clash of steel, and the screams of the dying—all of it made him feel strangely exultant. It was ironic, almost paradoxical, that the thing that made him feel most alive was being so intimately familiar with death.
But the guilt never consumed him, because he always knew he was fighting for the right side.
"Are the rumors true?" One of his friends suddenly asked, causing Benji to quickly look up questioningly, waiting for him to continue. "Rumor has it that you are going to marry Princess Daella Velaryon, the daughter of the rightful queen." The black-skinned man, Helion, spoke in a whisper as he watched the conversation at the table gradually die down to eavesdrop on the small interaction.
At the sudden question, Benjicot licked the inside of his cheek in a brusque manner and slammed his fist on the dark wooden table, causing some of his companions to jump at the sudden noise. He could have sworn that his aunt was giving him a scolding look at that moment, but honestly, he had already lost all the good humor he had, and dealing with Alysanne's "lectures" at that moment wasn't going to help anything.
The truth was, he wasn't upset by the question, but rather by the lack of answers he had to offer. The raven had left two days ago; however, the answer had not yet returned to Blackwood Fortress, which made him anxious and irritated about the possibilities he was not sure he possessed.
Of course, he knew that what he had asked the queen was too much. Someone like him didn't deserve to marry Rhaenyra Targaryen's only daughter, and he knew he was at least crazy enough to make such a request to the queen. However, the possibility of angering the Brackens with someone from royalty made him ecstatic and almost satisfied, and he knew he had to take the risk before someone else did.
"I still don't know." He replied sincerely, leaning back a little and resting his arm on the back of the chair next to him. "My father sent the proposal to the queen two days ago, but unfortunately, we still haven't received a response." angry, and the table erupted in laughter that almost made him hit the table again, if someone hadn't interrupted him first.
"Are you angry because the queen didn't answer you in two days?" One of his table companions laughed loudly, and Benjicot grimaced when he saw wine run down the man's beard. "Do you really think that with the coming war she has time for that?" The man asked mockingly, and Benji had to control himself not to rub his face on the stone floor.
"Besides, the journey to Dragonstone is considerably long." One of the other men said this as he massaged his full belly, and Benji sighed in defeat as he realized that the man was probably right.
He hated it when old men were correct.
"But let me ask you something, is she pretty?" A man asked curiously, and the lord's son gradually became irritated by the question, especially when he saw the other men at the table leaning forward waiting for an answer, an answer he didn't have.
Benjicot had heard rumors of the beauty of Rhaenyra Targaryen's only daughter, but although he felt inclined to believe it, part of him didn't want to. After all, he didn't like most of the rumors that the winds whispered about him, so he didn't want to believe them. the ones they made about his possible future wife, even if they were good.
Furthermore, he was almost certain that she was beautiful; after all, according to his logic, all princesses were beautiful, all dragons were scary, and all Brackens were idiots. He trusted this assessment almost completely.
"Of course she's beautiful, you idiot! She's a princess!" replied Helion loudly while wiping the grease from his fingers on his clothes, making Benji laugh loudly at the man's inappropriate behavior. One of the things I most appreciated about that soldier was the fact that they both always shared the same opinion.
With the insult hurled, the other man began shouting obscenities in response, triggering a loud and chaotic exchange of insults across the table and causing the rest of the men in the room to whistle and enjoy the fight. Benjicot, in turn, gave a short laugh before turning to the table where his father and uncles were sitting, furrowing his eyebrows when he saw one of the fortress servants handing an envelope into his father's hands.
He frowned when he saw his father smile as he opened the letter, and for some reason, his heart seemed to beat faster, which made him lean on the wooden chair and debate whether he should go to his family table.
However, before Benji even had time to react, Samwell Blackwood stood up and slammed his hand on the table so hard that his wrist turned red, and in an instant, the noisy room assumed an unusual silence.
Everyone had their heads held high as they watched the lord with the letter in his hand, and when his smile widened, whispers were heard around the hall. "I have great news!" The lord spoke loudly, raising a glass of wine in his hand, and Benjicot could see his aunt from afar, trying to hide a smile. "My son, Benjicot Blackwood, is now betrothed to Princess Daella Velaryon of House Targryen!" The man shouted, and the room erupted in applause.
The lord's son could feel the pat that the other men were giving him on the back; however, he didn't care about the pain or the congratulations that came his way; his head was blank, and he could hardly believe that he was engaged—even more engaged to a princess. He was sure he was going to vomit at any moment, and the pats on his upper back were indicating that he should do so.
"And!" Samwell shouted once more, and the hall fell silent as they waited for further news. "Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen has requested our presence in two weeks!" The lord celebrated, and once again, the hall exploded with screams and whistles.
This time, Benjicot found himself swept up in the moment, though whether his scream was out of excitement or nervousness, he couldn't quite tell.
𝟓 𝐃𝐀𝐘𝐒 𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑, 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞. 📍
The comforting warmth of the hot water in the bathtub enveloped Daella's body like a warm hug, while the soft light from the candles in the room delicately illuminated her face, where tears glistened and her cheeks displayed a subtle blush, yet she remained there, immersed in the quietness of the place, and stuck in her thoughts as she fought not to start sobbing.
Even though five days had passed since the raven brought the news, Lucery's death still haunted her. She could barely find an appetite or sleep, and she was almost certain that this bath was the first one she had taken since receiving that news, and she was only taking it because she was forced by Baela to do so.
She could feel her cousin's slender fingers through her hair, giving her a massage that almost made her feel comfortable enough to let some of the sobs that were stuck in her throat escape, but nevertheless she decided to remain silent, having no energy for another breakdown.
Many of the candles that had previously illuminated the space were now extinguished, leaving the place gradually enveloped in shadows. With each passing minute, the room seemed to sink a little more into darkness, creating a heavy and unsettling atmosphere. This caused Daella to make a sudden movement forward, as if trying to escape the darkness that was thickening around her. The sudden gesture immediately captured her cousin's attention, who watched her with a look of deep questioning in her eyes.
"What's wrong? Have I hurt you?" Baela inquired worriedly, picking up a sponge she had beside her stool, concern still visible on her beautiful face. "Cousin?" The girl called her, concerned; yet, Daella only sighed and gently returned to her area in the water.
"I'm sorry, I'm just..." Daella began, but the words caught in her throat, causing her to bite her lip before she began to speak. "Do you think it was dark when Luke died?" She asked suddenly, and the other girl gave a sad sigh, the concern from earlier turning into understanding, but before she could even respond, Daella placed her chin on her knees and began to speak.
"He didn't like the dark." She began, and Baela could hear the tree in her cousin's voice, and she quickly got up from her stool to sit on the floor next to the bathtub, ignoring the water there. "Luke was afraid of the dark; I don't want to think about the fact that he could have died in the dark, alone and scared." The princess admitted it, and Baela gave a shaky sigh as she placed a comforting hand on her bare shoulder.
"I'm sorry; I shouldn't have brought that up." Daella spoke in a sigh, and this time she could help but let out a strangled sob, which made her cousin move even closer to her.
"You don't have to apologize to me, cousin." Baela began, her voice bringing some comfort to the Velaryon girl, who looked at her with red eyes. "You're grieving." She finished softly, and the Velaryon gave a dry laugh.
"You're grieving too." Daella replied, her voice unexpectedly harsh, and cursed herself immediately for the unintended edge in her tone. Surprisingly, the other girl seemed unfazed by it.
"Yes, I am." Baela admitted, biting the inside of her cheek hard and ignoring the almost regretful look the other girl was throwing her way. "But not as much as you; after all, it was your brother, and I can't even imagine the state I would be in if Rhaena died." She admitted it, and the other girl looked at her gratefully.
"But you can be sure of one thing." She spoke in a joking tone, which made Daella look at her with an eyebrow. "I would at least take a shower." She finished and laughed loudly when she saw the face Daella was making.
"You are so funny." The Velaryon said sarcastically as she threw a few drops of water in the face of Baela, who was trying to keep the composter while moving back to the bench amidst laughter, and the princess couldn't help but smile when she heard the outrageous laughter.
"I know, I know, I'm hilarious, but now seriously, let's wash you!" Baela managed to say it through laughter while squeezing out a mouthful of foam from the sponge.
"Why are you the one washing me, and not one of the maids?" Velaryon inquired curiously, and her cousin arched an eyebrow.
"Because they obeyed you when you said no, and also because you wouldn't come if you weren't dragged." Baela said, however, that her voice didn't have any hint of joke or mockery; she was genuinely worried for the simple fact that Daella was in such bad shape that she didn't have the strength to do basic things like that. "And besides, your fiancé arrives here in 2 days." Baela spoke in an obvious tone, and Daella turned around in a sharp tone, wetting the other girl once again.
That really caught her attention, and she couldn't help but bite her lip in nervousness upon hearing those words. Her betrothed, a man she had never seen in her life, was coming for a visit, and she didn't know what to do.
Daella wasn't stupid, she knew the rumors that were circulating about her future husband, and as much as she wanted to admit it, she felt a little afraid of him, for others he was a bloodthirsty idiot who only felt good in the world. battlefield, it was dirty and rough and noisy, and even though she wasn't a big fan of rumors, she couldn't stop questioning whether it was actually true.
Deep down, a part of her screamed that if it were true, her mother had never accepted the proposal, and whether she wanted to or not, she was holding on to the hope that this was real.
"That was actually the same reaction I had when I found out you were getting married." Baela tried to calm the situation, gently taking the other girl's arm to wash it. "Wait until Jace discovers this fact too!" She giggled, and the Velaryon girl wrinkled her nose as she imagined the mockery she would suffer from her twin brother.
Lucerys would probably mock her too if he were there.
"In two days?! No one had told me he was even coming!" Daella sighed loudly.
"I just know he's coming because I heard my father talking to our grandmother." Baela said softly as she rinsed her cousin's hair. "I don't even know if I was supposed to know that."
"But the queen isn't here; how can he come and talk about business if my mother left a few days ago and hasn't returned yet?" Daella questioned. She knew Rhaenyra needed time alone, but she couldn't help but worry about the hours her mother had already spent outside Dragonstone.
"Well, I guess that's not a problem anymore." Baela whispered under her breath, her ears catching Syrax's distant roar echoing outside the fortress. Hastily, she scrambled to fetch a towel, handing it over to the other girl who was now craning her neck to peer through the small window, hoping to catch a glimpse of the capricious dragon.
A sudden knock on the door made both girls startle, but their tension dissolved as they recognized Rhaena's familiar voice. She entered, carrying clothes in her arms and scanning the room for her sister and cousin.
"Come on."She urged gently. "The queen is probably waiting for us."

When it comes to demigods as they were in like ancient Greek and Norse mythologies - half-human and half-mortal, almost always having some god for a father, and the human mother can count herself lucky if she even has a name, and perhaps some brief sad story of how she died. Always a story of what happened to her, not one about what she did. No agency.
Now, consider: A story with a pantheon of gods of some sort, and a tale of a demigod of ambiguous origin. And "ambiguous" here meaning that they know exactly who the demigod's mother is, she's a human woman who walked up to the realm of the gods, very obviously and heavily pregnant, beating pots and pans together going "WHAT'S UP YOU DIVINE FUCKS, ONE OF Y'ALL OWES ME CHILD SUPPORT", and refused to leave. They cannot make her leave before verifying that her child is, indeed, a demigod. And her claim turns out to be true. The mystery is the father.
This human woman is rude, abrasive, insolent and does not seem to have any sort of fear or respect for anyone or anything. None of the gods are willing to admit to having fucked her. Goddesses who would otherwise go for jealous revenge do not dare to go near her - partially out of a reluctance to embarrass their husbands by implying that they would have screwed this woman, and partially out of their fear of being severely insulted and ridiculed by her. Her child, who now wanders around the realms of the gods largely unsupervised, is unquestionably divine in origin, but doesn't seem to show any distinct features that'd be easy to connect to any of the gods.
While having the standard demigod's slightly-better-than-mortal strength, speed, healing and other such qualities, this half-human child simply does not seem to have any particular divine gifts. Their most distinct, unnaturally potent and overpowering feature is their sheer unflinching bold audacity, clearly inherited from the mother.

Goku's Child! Reader w/ Three Admirers
Characters: Zamasu, Goku Black, and Trunks Requester/Idea-Starter: @lelewright1234 A/N: You can tell which was my favorite to write for, lol. But, I do hope you guys like this! Credit to the linked above for coming up with this prompt! ⚠️ Spoilers/Trigger Warnings for: Mentions of death, fighting, obsessive behavior - borderline yandere, unwanted physical touch, and war(??) ⚠️
╔══════════════════════════════════════════╗
Tumblr media
╚═════ Zamasu ═══════════════════════════════╝
🍵 When you first met Zamasu with your father, the Supreme Kai was surprised to see how polite you were. Unlike your father, you were more of a quiet and reserved being, but that didn't mean you were weak
🍵 You watched with Gowasu as the two fought, and Zamasu was surprised when you jumped in after your father and began to spar against him. Much like Goku, you had a very powerful aura, and this guy was having a difficult time keeping up without using almost his whole power
🍵 It was only when your match ended that you laughed and helped him up that Zamasu realized that you were Goku's middle-child, specifically his only daughter. You looked a lot like him, your matching hair (despite it being in a different style - like your uncle Raditz's), your build - though you were smaller because you inherited your mother's shortness, and your eyes. But, you were different by how you acted
🍵 Zamasu began to question mortals and their values not that long ago, but seeing how delicate you acted around the other deities, he began to ask himself one question; why were you so different from the others in his eyes?
🍵 But more importantly... why did he seem to feel his stomach and heart flutter whenever you would look at him and smile?
╔══════════════════════════════════════════╗
Tumblr media
╚═════ Goku Black ═════════════════════════════╝
🔥 You hated this guy with a burning passion. Not only did he wreck your entire home, but he literally killed so many of the people you cared for! If someone asked for you view on him, you would snap in rage before yelling your hatred for him
🔥 But, despite the fact that you so obviously despised him, Goku Black was head-over-heels for you. The way you fought against him just made his cold-heart beat run faster than any amount of adrenaline could make it
🔥 Black enjoys fighting against you, but he does hold his punches, as he, as the 'other mortals' say, "tangled in the gaze of your beautiful eyes on him". And I mean that. He'll see you look into his eyes and he'll grab your hand, attempting to get you in a waltz-like dance in the sky
🔥 Every time he touched you, he would feel his skin tingle in joy. You were so soft despite the long time of fighting, while his own hands were rough and slightly calloused from using so many attacks and tearing the surrounding world apart
🔥 The others were shocked when he would pick you up and hold you by the waist in the air, telling you how much he adored you and tried kissing you. You were stuck in horror, his guy looked exactly like your father! Hell, your Aunt Bulma called him 'Goku Black' for a reason! You just screamed and the past Goku had come up and kicked him away, carrying you down to the others gently, meanwhile Black glare at you and the others in rage. You were going to regret refusing a divine being...
╔══════════════════════════════════════════╗
Tumblr media
╚═════ Trunks ═══════════════════════════════╝
⚔️ You two grew up together, and your fathers trained with one another. It only took this connection to bring you guys together in a lovely relationship as you grew up
⚔️ That happy life was unfortunately interrupted with Goku Black came down to attack, and it only made it worse that your father died from the Heart Virus while your own adversary looked exactly like your now-deceased father
⚔️ Trunks was pissed whenever Black tried touching you, and you knew this. The half-Saiyan would lung and cause the other male to fly back, crashing into a nearby building while he checked you over for any wounds possibly delivered by the enemy
⚔️ When you both went into the past, you held your sword in shock. You never expected to see your father in so long, and honestly? It was amazing to hear his voice and get to hug the same man that you lost to such a painful illness
⚔️ Trunks liked seeing you actually happy and comfortable, ever since Black came around, you had hardened and became more like a warrior than anyone else. So, just watching you let that go made his love for you grow larger and larger
⚔️ As you two fought for the final time against Goku Black, Trunks merged his attack with you, which made Merged-Zamasu scream and begin melting even more in agony. And when it finally ended with Future Zeno erasing your home away, you finally got to put your weapons down and live a happy life with your beloved
⚔️ Before you left, you looked back at the young you and Trunks. They asked what you guys were in the future - like asking if you were still friends -, and you just smiled before your Trunks wrapped his arms around you from behind and kissed your cheek, making the young two of you gag with a hint of flush on their faces. You just chuckled and kneeled down to look at the two of them, leaving everyone with one final message from the future you
"Don't ever take one another for granted. You never know when another danger could come through and tear you guys apart. And don't ever, and I mean ever, allow Dad to use his Spirit Bomb on the garden. He did that when I was young and it almost blew up the entire yard..."

Heyy.. would it be alright if to request more Apollo? Specifically exploring more on his fear of potentially losing you just like he's lost all his previous lovers? 😔
☛ apollo insists to be in the delivery room when you birth your child, afraid of what might happen

When your mother had taught you about pregnancy and childbirth, she had left out quite a lot. Like the fact that a human being pushing out of you was a very painful and potentially deadly experience. When another contraction wrecked you, you screamed, thankfully drowning out the worried hushes of the doctors surrounding you.
They were the best in the city, assembled by your father, the king, and the fact that these famed and gifted men were sneaking such unnerved glances had anxiety shoot through you almost as badly as the next contraction. You were probably yelling at some poor midwife that had offered you a cup of water, but you really couldn't tell, because the pain, hot and white and stronger than any you had felt before, clouded your vision with tears.
More than anything, you wanted him with you now, but that was unthinkable. Fathers, much less unmarried ones, could not be in here. And so, only the light of a bloody sun offered you comfort, shining through the thin curtains of your chambers, illuminating your writhing figure. It felt like you were being teared apart, and neither doctors nor nurses were gentle with you, shouting instructions you couldn't decipher. Instead, another scream escaped your hoarse throat and you squeezed your eyes shut.
More than anything, you wished to escape your body, flee to a happier memory. A few weeks ago, Apollo had picked you up from your palace and taken you to his gardens, impossibly beautiful and divine. He had layed you down, barely letting you walk because he insisted you let him do everything, singing to you and the baby gently, engulfing you in his soothing arms. At some point, he had leaned down, smoothly transitioning from singing to whispering endless love confessions into your ear, not even stopping his poetic ramblings when you turned your head to kiss him.
You let the feeling of his warmth, the memory of your happiness and the glory of his gardens wash over you. Imagining a golden hue taking over your body, flooding over your limbs, down to the tips of your fingers. Almost, you could smell the sweet fragrance of the flowers. For a few moments, the pain was but a faint memory. Then, it hit you again. Doctors were scrambling above you, they looked worried and you squeezed your eyes shut, desperately trying to escape to the garden but failing as the reality of the situation overwhelmed you. Somewhere far away, there was a loud bang.
Apollo pushed open the palace doors with such force that they threatened to crumble under his might. The guards that had assembled to investigate the noise retreated just as hastily, falling to their knees in front of the god who had just blessed the palace with his presence. Human sized but otherwise unmistakably divine, his golden eyes tracked over the soldiers, and the ones they fell on were shook, trembling and covering. A golden halo adorned his locks, the fabrics of his tunic floating around him, moved by an invisible force.
His eyes found the officer under the soldiers and with few strides, he walked over to him, his hand gripped the man's jaw as he made him look up. The man's skin burned from the divine touch and he whimpered, not daring to meet the god's eyes. "Where is she?" His voice was surprisingly calm and restrained, though heavy with meaning and implication- and a subtle threat that didn't need to be heard.
The guard gave the directions and Apollo let go of his head, making him slump into himself. He didn't even look up when the god took off, crossing the entrance hall in a matter of seconds.
The closer Apollo came to your chambers, the louder he could hear you and he thought his heart would shatter at the screams that now guided him through the halls. He barely registered the servants and royals kneeling before him, the guards hastily opening doors for him, all he could hear was you, all he could see flashing before his waking eye were the images from his nightmares.
The sound of your screams seeped into the dark corners of his mind, a horrifying symphony. It was underlaid with images of you, cold, bloody, in the bed where he had made love to you for the first time, staring up at him with empty eyes whose joy had been forever trampled by his doing. Gilded halls flew by and their flashes formed more images, not fears but memories. No, not you, too. Not you.
Suddenly, he realized he had reached the doors to your chambers, had unconsciously stopped in front of them. It was so silent. Though they threatened to tear him to pieces, he longed for your screams, a proof that you were still breathing and fighting. He realized that he couldn't move, couldn't go in. But he had to. There he stood, all powerful and frozen, until he heard you let out a muffled cry. Apollo released a breath he hadn't realized he had been holding and wanted to burst through the doors when they opened and a small, old man emerged, closing it behind him and falling to his knees. He recognized him as a doctor, and two others followed.
"High lord Apollo," the first one inquired, hands raised like in prayer. "Please, remain behind closed doors. It would be improper for a lady of her station to have the father in the room."
Likely because he saw the god's eye twitching dangerously, the second doctor spoke up pleadingly. "High lord, we will do all we can to extract your child from the womb, but there has been some trouble. Please, bless our labours and remain here."
"The labours I am blessing are not yours," Apollo scoffed and approached the doors, the mortal doctors scrambling to the side and out of his way. They were not fit to treat you, they weren't looking after you, and they were trying to keep him out? Suddenly, he turned around and the doctors instantly fell to their knees once more, but his eyes didn't fly by them once, instead searching the corridor as if he was waiting for someone. All mortals jumped when his voice roared.
"EILEITHYIA!"
The midwives swarming you froze, and so did you, when a man's loud voice echoed through the room, not just jumping in between the confines of the walls but penetrating every cell and bone, making everyone jump. The worried whispering increased and fell dead silent the next moment, when something- someone- broke through the doors and stormed into the room in a ray of fire and godly might.
As soon as he saw you on the bed, drenched in sweat and probably some blood, too, his furious expression softened, crumbled before your eyes. In the blink of an eye, he was kneeling by your side, wrapping his larger hand around yours and brushing sweaty strands of hair out of your face. Apollo. His soft, soothing hand came to cradle your face and you leaned into it, suppressing a wince. "You're here"
"I am so sorry I am late," he said sincerely, caressing your cheek. His voice hardened when he addressed the midwives. "What are you waiting for? Go on." Then, his eyes found yours again. Though he gave you a reassuring smile, you could see the panic lurking in the depths of his golden irises. "How are you feeling, sunshine?"
The concern and barely concealed fear in his eyes made your heart clench and you forced a smile, despite the growing pain. "I'm fine," you tried to reassure him, smiling through the pain, "I promi-" Your own scream cut you off mid sentence when the next contraction hit, even worse than the last ones, nearly splitting you in two. "Shit- Gods- Curse you, Apollo, for putting a child into me!"
He was all over you, cooing, peppering your face with kisses and stroking your hair as you sobbed. Even in your clouded state, you saw the pain behind the facade of reassurance. "I'm sorry," he breathed, he sounded almost broken, as if he could feel your pain tenfold, and your fear was nothing next to his panic. Quite unfitting, seeing as nothing could happen to him in this situation.
"You're going to be okay," he said, but he sounded everything but convinced. In moments like these, you wished you couldn't see through him quite so well, that you could ban the knowledge of his prophetic abilities out of your mind. Because your breath constricted in panic over your own fate and that of the struggling baby. Even the best physicians had been clueless what to do, and who could possibly know more than them about childbirth?
Just then, the midwives froze once more as another person entered the room. A goddess, without any doubt, in flowing pink robes, indescribably beautiful. "Go," Apollo said, it was an order and directed at the mortals, who didn't even grab their medical instruments but scrambled out of the room in a haste. The young woman let them pass by and then approached the bed, frowning. "Sunshine?" Apollo said softly, grabbing your attention. "That's my sister Eileithyia, goddess of childbirth."
Oh Gods.
Apollo seemed to misjudge your shocked and upset expression, wincing in guilt. "I couldn't find Artemis, that's why I took so long, or I would have brought her. But Eileithyia is also an expert-"
"Apollo!" you interrupted him, staring at him wide eyed. "Please tell me you didn't bring the goddess of childbirth to my- you can't, that's too much effort for just me-" Another contraction hit and you weren't able to muffle the piercing scream, your fingers burying themselves into Apollos arm so deep you were vaguely surprised he didn't bleed golden ichor.
God and goddess shared a look, with Apollo's looking like a what-on-earth-are-you-waiting-for, and Eileithyia elegantly settled at the foot of the bed, placing a hand on your bump. Her fingers drew circles as she mumbled under her breath in a language foreign to you, then she met your gaze. "Push, dear."
Despite the pain, you did as she said, hiding your face in your lover's hand where it was warm and dark and smelled of better days. It was like his hand alone drowned all other noise out, but still, you could hear him frantically ask his sister what he could do. What you didn't register was her answer, but you had a pretty good idea when the sun god leaned closer and brought his arms to cage you in and hold you close.
It was better. The pain was still greater than anything you had ever felt, but the goddesses presence eased your nerves, reassuring you, and your lovers touch soothed you even more. It gave you the strength to push, again and again, only wanting for it to be over as tears streamed down your cheeks.
Suddenly, you heard the god whisper in your ear, frantic, as if he was caught in a horrible nightmare, hallucinating. It was incoherent, but you were able to make out some of the words. "Please... no, no, no... not again.... not her, I can't take it this time, not her, please... I'll do anything, just not her..."
A new fear closed around your heart like an icy fist, not for you or the baby but for him. What would it do to him if you died? Over the last months, he had declared again and again that his love for you was different than with almost all the mortals he'd loved before, that he couldn't let you go or lose you, that he wanted to spend every second you granted him with you. And you hadn't believed him. How could you? There was nothing that made you special, nothing that would justify a god's devotion to a mere mortal like you were. But his voice in your ear sounded so genuinely and utterly terrified that you couldn't help but ask yourself if you had been wrong, had misjudged him and underestimated his love for you.
"I see the head," the goddess chimed in, interrupting Apollos feverish ramblings, and his hold on you tightened. It was as if he had just awoken from a dream and his voice got clearer as he kissed your temple and cradled you in his arms. "You hear that, sunshine? You're doing so well, you're so strong. Almost there, love, almost there." Your breaths were high-pitched and your eyes burning with tears, but you squeezed his hand and pushed, throwing your head back in another guttural cry.
And that was when you heard it. Another one's cries mixed with yours, but they were higher and undoubtedly- Eileithyia emerged from the foot of the bed, cutting the umbilical cord with one hand and holding a slimy, squirming little thing in the other arm. Apollo next to you grew uncharacteristically quiet when you reached out and the goddess placed the little bundle in your arms with a small, gracious smile. "It's a girl."
You hadn't even really thought about this moment, and for a second, a wave of anxiety hit you as you stared down, drinking in the sight of your child like the sweetest nectar. What if you didn't do it right? How should you hold her? Should you stay still or rock her in your arms? But suddenly, it didn't matter anymore because you realized the little bundle fit into your arms like a puzzle piece. You didn't even really have to do anything, or rather, your body seemed to know what to do and you let your instincts take over, rocking the little one gently in your arms.
You barely registered when the goddess left, unable to stick around. When the little girl took notice of you, her cries subsided and she blinked up at you curiously, cooing softly. "H-hi" Your voice was unstable and cracked, hoarse from all the screaming. "Hey there." With widened eyes, the little one observed you and you felt like she was looking right into your soul.
The bed creaked when Apollo moved closer, holding you up against his chest. Your daughter saw him and started crying and you let out a teary giggle at his slightly piqued expression. His eyes met yours and they were so warm, so soft, so full of love you could have drowned in them right then and there. "What do you want to call her, sunshine?"
Resting your head against his shoulder, you smiled at the little girl in your arms. She had quieted down once more, looking quite sleepy. This had been an ordeal for her just as much as you. "Phoebe," you said softly and heard Apollo sucked in his breath sharply behind you. His ragged breaths were hot against your sweat-coated skin as he buried his face in the crook of your neck. "That's..." He was out of words, which had to be a premiere.
Another long breath. "May I?" You handed your baby to him carefully and he took her as if she was made of glass, holding her with the utmost care. His golden eyes were shining and you were pretty sure they had tears in them. Rocking her in his arms, he looked back at you. "I thought... I was so scared..." He knew that you knew what he meant, and his chest swelled with emotion when you brought your hand up to his locks and pressed a kiss onto his cheek. "I know."
Apollo handed little Phoebe back to you and grabbed a towel, cleaning her carefully and wrapping her in it before giving her back to you and kneeling at the bedside once more. As his hand rubbed soothing circles on your back, you felt the exhaustion of several hours of labour weigh your bones down. But in that moment, there was an array of female voices coming from behind the door and you heard Apollo let out an exasperated sigh next to you.
When he saw your puzzled look, he attempted to explain. "I'm afraid my frantic search for my sister hasn't gone unnoticed by anyone on Olympus- those are the muses, they wanted to be the first to see the baby." When you raised a brow, he fumbled over his words quite uncharacteristically. "They know what you mean to me. They know the second you give me confirmation, I'm going to take you up to Olympus and marry you and make you immortal."
"You are?" you interrupted, eyes widened. "Why didn't I know about that?"
"What have I been trying to tell you?" the god exclaimed truly desperate and wringing his hands. "Did you think all those promises and plays and songs and poems and operas were just for show?"
"I mean... a little," you admitted. Phoebe had fallen asleep in your arms and you were glad about that, because it meant her innocent eyes weren't going to be tainted by Apollo biting down on your shoulder in frustration and huffing something about 'obliviousness' under his breath.
"Do you really mean that?" you said and couldn't help but imagine it. Living with him, raising your daughter together with nothing keeping you apart. Not looking over your shoulder anymore, searching for him, if he was still there or had just been a beautiful dream. You had considered yourself his for months now, but what if he was yours, too?
Apollo opened his mouth to answer when the doors flew open and a group of women hurried into the room. All beautiful in a way that had you grow very conscious of the fact that you were currently a sweaty, bloody mess, all with striking smiles on their faces. The tallest of the nine saw you first and her smile widened. "How are you, m'lady?"
You had never been addressed as m'lady by any immortal and didn't really know what to answer, but you didn't have to as the nine ladies swarmed the bed, cooing about the baby in your arms.
"The second it's too much, I'll throw them out," Apollo whispered into your ear but you shook your head, giving him a smile. You had a feeling that your daughter would come out of this encounter blessed with all sorts of gifts.
☀️
Apollo had given Phoebe into the trustworthy arms of Calliope to let you rest for a while. Sitting next to you on the bed, he personally cleaned you as you were snoring peacefully. His gaze got caught on your face and he knew he wouldn't get it back anytime soon, so he set the cloth down and propped himself up on one elbow next to you, observing the slight movement of your lips, the flutter of your lashes, the rising and falling of your chest.
He could see it all, even without prophetic powers. You, in a wedding gown, moving into his palace, being his wife, his lady, his queen. Raising your daughter, teaching her how to play the lyre. How would it be to no longer look over his shoulder in paranoia, if you were still there, hadn't been snatched away or stolen from him or- The god let out a long sigh.
When you mumbled something in your sleep, he couldn't help the smile taking over his lips. How could you have been so oblivious as to think he would just leave? Surely, the third romantic opera he wrote for you must've convinced you? Did you even know that you had become his only muse, the person his whole body of art revolved around?
In that moment, he swore to himself to never stop trying to convince you. Eventually, you would have to believe him. After all, you had all the time in the world.

Aphrodite Intro Pages
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let us delve into the realm of the Greek goddess Aphrodite, known as the Smile-Loving. She is a divine beauty, Her radiance rivaling that of the heavens, yet Her wrath can be as fierce as the sea She was born from. Emerging from the sea froth of Ouranos' castration, She is hailed as the daughter of Zeus. While She may be a minor deity of the sea, particularly associated with sea foam and creatures like tortoises, turtles, and clams, Her influence extends far beyond, shaping numerous myths and narratives as the Goddess of Passion.
These pages will give you a glimpse into my understanding and reverence of Aphrodite. The content, largely drawn from my grimoire, is a testament to my unique perception and worship of this goddess. However, it's important to note that the altar concept, while significant to me, is a conceptual representation and not a direct reflection of my daily worship. These visuals are crafted with the internet in mind and are highly aesthetic.
55. To Aphrodite (The Orphic Hymns, Athanassakis and Wolkow translation; excerpt)
Heavenly, smiling Aphrodite, praised in many hymns, sea-born revered goddess of generation, you like the night-long revel, you couple lovers at night, O scheming mother of Necessity. Everything comes from you: you have yoked the world, you control all three realms, you give birth to all, to everything in heaven, to everything upon the fruitful earth, to everything in the depths of the sea, O venerable companion of Bacchos. You delight in festivities, O bride-like mother of the Erotes, O Persuasion, whose joy is in the bed of love, secretive giver of grace, visible and invisible, lovely-tressed daughter of a noble father, bridal feast companion of the gods, sceptered, she-wolf, beloved and man-loving, giver of birth and life. Your maddening love-charms yoke mortals, they yoke the many races of beasts to unbridled passion. Come, O goddess born in Kypros: you may be on Olympos, O queen, exulting in the beauty of your face, you may be in Syria, country of fine frankincense you may be driving your golden chariot in the plain, you may lord it over Egypt's fertile river bed. Come, whether you ride your swan-drawn chariot over the sea's billows, joining the creatures of the deep, as they dance in circles, or on the land in the company of the dark-faced nymphs as light-footed they frisk over the sandy beaches, Come lady, even if you are in Kypros that cherishes you, where fair maidens and chaste brides throughout the year sing of you, O blessed one, as they sing of immortal, pure Adonis. Come, O beautiful, O comely goddess, I summon you with holy words, I summon you with a pious soul.
