Ahriman: Now, let's see if I can find some Goths to pester. Haven't seen them in ages.

Ethren: You seem to be feeling a little better, did you do something fun this afternoon?

Ahriman: I pranked Bella.

Keisha: What did you do?…

Ahriman: I Morphiated one of her duplicates into a hot tub and made her other duplicates bathe in it.

Keisha: What?

Ahriman: The best thing with duplicates is that they're temporary, so they didn't care, since they knew they'd poof out of existence eventually.

Ethren: Snrk…

Ahriman: Isn't it funny?

Keisha: Mostly weird… That mental image-

Ethren: Hahahahaha!

Ahriman: At least there's one person who likes my humour.

Ethren: I'm sorry, I shouldn't laugh at this.

Ahriman: Why not?

Ethren: Okay, you're right. No one got hurt and I told you it's okay to be chaotic today.

Ahriman: Exactly.

Aurora Mugwort for adelarsims Embers Academy Spellcasting Tournament ✨

The youngest of her siblings, Aurora has a mischievous streak that has caused her more trouble than she can sometimes handle. She's been learning magic properly ever since, and recently one of her teachers announced that there was a tournament being held for the students to participate in. WOLFGANG: [He snorts as he arrogantly sizes up Gemma, leaning in to blow out the flames coming off her hands like they’re no more threatening than birthday candles.] Or didn’t you get the alert this morning that they’re finding little girls that look just like you in pieces all over Moonwood? I’m just trying to keep you on your toes and save your life and this is the thanks I get… 

GEMMA: If it’s up to you to save my life, weirdo, I think I’d rather be murdered. [She sneers at him, her eyes narrowing furiously as she holds out an expectant palm.] Now cough up the six bucks you owe me for that coffee or find out what it’s like to live life as the world’s ugliest, mangiest rat – you’re already halfway there, it won’t be a hard spell to cast.

WOLFGANG: Haven’t learned Burgliate yet, huh? [Wolfgang smirks, leaning down just far enough to spit his chewed gum into Gemma’s hand, his voice lowering to an amused murmur.] You can have the six bucks when you can get it yourself, and I’m not buying you knowing Morphiate either. [Lauren and Morgana’s laughter in the background swells to a crescendo before suddenly, eerily, going completely silent.] AUNT LAVINIA: Oh, repugnant little boy, she knows people who do.

Vlad Hearts Greg, Part III

Last episode, Vlad did the unthinkable -- he cured himself of vampirism and let Greg the werewolf bite him, all because of an unspoken, kinda-violent bond between the two occult-cursed men. Once he'd become a werewolf, gotten his fangs and fur, he went to see Greg again. SURELY this would help them communicate?

Whoops.

Despite his ex-girlfriend and co-parent's objections, Vlad decided it was time for even MORE drastic action. He sold the mansion in Forgotten Hollow to townhouse developers and bought a little plot of land in Moonwood Mill. It took a little while to build a house that suited him, L.Faba, and little twins Vlanise and Vlonathan, but finally Vlad was fully established in the werewolf settlement.

He researched...

He got the werewolf zoomies...

And he tried, night after night after night, to sway Greg to his side. He and L.Faba tried the 'infatuate' spell. Vlad beguiled. Vlad learned more charisma and became the most smooth-talking ex-vampire werewolf ever...

I'd like to think that eventually one of the toddlers (who aged into children during this episode) said in an adorable lisp, "Father, he's just not that into you." Vlad didn't care. L.Faba, increasingly, did.

"Mama? What does 'stalking' mean?"

No matter what Vlad tried, whether companionable, stalkery, or downright unsavory, Greg was uninterested.

Finally, one night after Vlad tried unsuccessfully to have a Simlish conversation with Greg, Greg followed him home. The family was having a birthday celebration for the twins, and even Vlad seemed to be enjoying himself. Until....ding-dong!

Greg was in a feral rage. Greg burst into the house, scratched up some furniture, and ate cake.

And then he growled and yelled at Vlonathan.

Growled. At. Vlonathan.

Approximately sixty seconds later, Greg was on the front porch, having been turned into a cactus via L.Faba's "Morphiate" spell.

Vlad defended Greg. And that was the last straw. Family meeting (including the butler)!

As cactus-Greg eventually slunk away (2 hour spell duration), the family came to a decision: Vlad hearts Greg. Vlad doesn't heart L.Faba. And while Vlad does heart his children, he's too erratic, stuck-in-his-ways, and evil for full-time parenting. They bought him a little house halfway between Greg's trailer and the family home. They reinforced the doors and windows because of frenzies. They set up a visitation schedule.

And then Vlad learned to journal. And got on with his werelife.

Mahina, my quiet one, alternates magic practice and working on her knitting in the evenings post-homework. Indeed, she appears to have mastered her chosen hobby!

I do not wish to push her, but I hope she takes some time soon to socialize more with the boys she has met through school. I would prefer she not feel rushed to make a decision later, when she matures.

Ahriman: Alright, let's see if this works. Can't hurt to try it just once or twice, right?

Ahriman: You gotta be kidding me.

Ahriman: I was trying to go for more facial hair than this. Does this mean that this is all I can grow? This looks awful.

Ahriman: And it would probably look even worse if I were to shave it off.

Ahriman: Well, that was an easy choice for at least a few years to come.

Ahriman: Much better. At least the dress didn't look too bad on that body, but I'll have to study how to use Morphiate on body and clothes at the same time, because with a better beard I'm sure a suit would be very flattering.

GEMMA:  Well you’ve got several candidates right there that have the look down thanks to my aunts, so you don’t really need me for “killer bait” if that’s what you’re asking.

MAX: No, we don’t need a decoy. Anymore. [he smirks] But you’d think some legacy baby that goes around running her mouth about how powerful her magic is would be able to demonstrate it. Unless of course, you’re full of shit.

GEMMA: Morphiating some greaseball into a rat isn’t even close to being the same thing as defensive battle magic. [She scoffs right back at him, crossing her arms over her chest uncomfortably.] That’s the only thing I claimed, so whatever you heard about me “running my mouth” – that’s bullshit. I’m not Siobhan, I don’t exaggerate everything just to feel more important than everyone else.

MORGANA: I like you already– [she grins as she stands up, practically jumping out of her seat to pull Gemma by the arm toward the hangout spot.] An enemy of my enemy is a friend or whatever. 

GEMMA: I wouldn’t say she’s my enemy, she’s not, I mean, I’m pretty sure she doesn’t even register the fact that I exist– 

MAX: Bullshit – like I said, you’re a legacy baby, she knows exactly who you are, it’s just that you being a huge nerd, you know, hanging out with people like Elderberry, makes you pretty much social cancer.
