The forgotten child
Pairing's : fem! reader x peter parker, tony stark daughter! x tony stark, tony stark daughter! x peter parker
Warnings: really sad angst, jealousy, daddy issues, neglect, lmk if i missed anything! :)
Summary: dad of the year award? surely isn't going too him
a/n : I know the gif doesn't really match the theme of this story I just really liked it. I did not reread this so please ignore any grammar mistakes. Also, I'm not sure if i wrote a panic attack correctly but I wrote based on what their like for me. hope you all enjoy!
you really tried not to become the forgotten child, always tried you're very hardest to live up to your father expectations, trying to make him proud in hope's he'd show some form of attention.
always studying to get straight a's even through countless anxiety attacks from fear of failing and disappointing your father.
all you ever wanted was reassurance, and if you ever got lucky enough a "You did a good job" after getting a high score on a test.
but it never came, it would forever be something you longed to hear. he would usually just mumble a small, quiet "congrats" as his mind stayed focused on his work and his eyes stuck to the blueprint laid out on the table Infront of him.
you always tried you're best not to feel jealous whenever your father held morgan, you had no ressentiment towards morgan whatsoever, in fact she was the one that kept you smiling most days. although you couldn't help but feel your heart tighten from jealousy as you watched them have daddy daughter time
you really did try you're best to be happy for your younger sister, but you couldn't ignore that aching feeling. all you wanted was the attention she had that your heart ached so desperately for, but it never came despite your countless attempts.
you we're astound to hear a new avenger had been recruited, you always enjoyed meeting new people. mainly because they gave you attention they didn't even know you craved.
you always seeked to see the best in people, no matter what the circumstances we're. including peter parker, there was nothing wrong with him, he wasn't a bad person in fact quite a good one, and if you weren't so envious of him you possibly could have been friends with the boy. but you watched how peter and your father clicked so easily becoming like father and son.
it made the knots in your stomach tighten as you watched them spend time together, it made you feel as if something was wrong with you, like maybe if you tried harder or changed, he'd give you the attention you deserved.
your mother, pepper always said he loved you just as much as he loved morgan or even peter, but you knew the truth as much as you ignored it you knew. but oh, how you wish he did.
"Mom, I'm home" you called out knowing if father was home, he wouldn't answer you. after not receiving an answer, you decided to look through the house in search of your mother, after a couple of minutes searching you still hadn't found her and decided she probably went out and took morgan with her. you heard talking but it sounded like your father, and peter?? "what's peter doing here?" you wondered. you decided to peak you're head through the door and saw peter and tony standing with their backs faced away from you, working on some upgrades for peter's suit.
"you're a pretty great kid peter" tony told him as he smiled at him patting his shoulder. a wave of jealously hit your chest as you watched them, your throat tightening. "Thank you, Mr. stark," peter smiled cheekily as your fingers clenched into a fist at your side.
"Becoming like my son."
once those words left Tony's lips, your mouth went dry, your head aching as you backed away from the door as quietly as possible, you're breathing picking up rapidly. you quickly made your way to your room, tears forming in your eyes, you walked into your room and shut the door softly as your hands started shaking as you paced around your room quickly, trying to stop the tears from rolling down your cheeks. you never liked crying, it made you feel weak.
you're breathing came out in heavy gasp as you struggled to breathe. you leaned against the wall coughing as you squeezed your eyes shut as you tried to stop the words from replaying in your mind.
"Becoming like my son" continuously echoed through your head as soft sobs left your lips, you didn't want to feel this way, envious of what your father and peter had. it's not peter's fault about what your father feels about you so why hold him accountable. he'll never love you, at least not like he loves peter. you can't figure out why? you always tried you're best to impress him, but nothing seemed to be enough for him, it's like he didn't even care about your existence.
you stumbled over to your bed, taking deep breathes as your body grew exhausted from crying. you plopped down on your bed tiredly as you snuggled up against your blanket that was where your pillows we're supposed to be, you grabbed a pillow and hugged it too sleep.
you didn't want to put the blame on peter because it wasn't his fault, but a little piece of your heart blamed peter parker.
a/n: CLIFFHANGER!?!? I decided to leave it for now because I haven't come up with an ending that I thought fit the way I wanted so if you guys have ideas, please let me know. reblog's are highly appreciated, thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed!

How Do I Get You Alone? 2
Pairing: Peter Parker X Stark!Reader
Synopsis: you and Peter can’t seem to communicate effectively after the kiss
Part one
Masterlist
“Honey, can you get that? It’s Peter.” Tony asked you when FRIDAY alerted you that someone was waiting in the lobby.
“And you want me to bring him up? Why can’t you do it?” You panicked over the thought of being alone with Peter after your last conversation.
“Because I’m the belle of the ball and the belle does not bring her own guests up from the lobby. She has other people do it for her. Plus, I don’t want Peter to see my outfit until he’s up here.” Tony explained as he adjusted his tie.
“You’re such a diva. And why do you also make yourself a girl in these scenarios?” You asked as you went over to the elevator.
“Don’t call me that!” Tony called after you. You rolled your eyes and took the elevator down to the lobby. Peter had been nervously fiddling with his shirt and did a double take when you stepped off the elevator. You smiled weakly at him and smoothed down your dress.
“Oh. Hi.” Peter said as his face reddened.
“Hi. Sorry, my dad asked me to come get you.”
“You don’t have to apologize.”
“Oh. Right.” You smiled tightly. “Well, come on in. Dinners almost ready.”
“What did your dad make?” Peter asked as you stepped into the elevator.
“Well, my dad hasn’t “made” anything since he found out there weren’t real raspberries in raspberry toaster strudels. But our chef made gnocchi.”
“Fuck yes.” Peter whispered to himself.
“What was that?”
“I said that sounds delicious.” He lied. You rode up in silence for a minute as you watched him. He was keeping his eyes on the ground and you could tell he wasn’t thrilled that you were with him.
“Look, Peter, I know you’re upset about the way our conversation went the other day and I really want a chance to explain myself.” You said as you stepped in front of him.
“You don’t have to explain anything. I understand.” Peter said calmly.
“You do?”
“Yeah. The kiss was a heat of the moment thing and you just want to forget it happened. And I am totally okay with that.” Peter said and forced a smile. It wasn’t actually how he felt, just something he had told himself to say to avoid anymore crushing disappointment or awkwardness.
“You’re okay with that? With pretending it never happened?” You asked and felt the same level of disappointment Peter had felt.
“Yeah.” Peter lied. “Why wouldn’t I be? I won’t hold you to anything you did during a high pressure situation. I think we both want to move on and pretend it never happened. So let’s just forget about it.”
“If that’s what you want.” You nodded stiffly and stepped to the side so that you could hide how disappointed you felt over hearing him say that.
“If that’s what you want.” Peter shrugged and suddenly felt unsure of his plan. He was no longer confident that he correctly guessed how you wanted to proceed.
“Is that what you want?” Peter asked quietly after a beat of silence. Before you could answer, the elevator doors opened to the dinning room.
“Peter’s here!” Tony cheered. “Come in, come in. Sit down. I hope you’re hungry.”
“Always.” Peter’s smiled graciously as he sat in the seat beside Tony.
“Aw. I know, kid. Times are hard.” Tony said sympathetically and patted Peter’s hand.
“Oh, no, not like that. I eat enough food at home.” Peter assured him.
“Aw, yes you do.“ Tony cooed and patted his hand again. Meanwhile, you were about to take the seat next to Morgan when Pepper sat down. Now the only empty chair was the one next to Peter and you were not about to make this dinner anymore awkward than it already was. Peter made eye contact with you and gave you a sympathic smile.
“Oh. Sorry, mom. I was gonna sit next to Morgan and help her eat.” You said and gestured for her to move.
“I can use a fork all by myself now.” Morgan said proudly and held up a spoon.
“That’s a spoon. I should probably just pull up a chair next to her.” You said and went to go grab another chair.
“Honey, just sit next to Peter.” Pepper said and gestured to the only open seat.
“Okay. I will. But not because I want to.” You announced as you took the seat.
“Sweetheart. Manners.” Pepper whispered to you. You took the seat next to Peter and avoided eye contact.
“I’m not being rude.” You defended. “I’m just saying that I’m only sitting next to Peter because I have no other option.”
“Have you two been spending time together? Because that’s 100% something Peter would say.” Tony laughed in amusement as you and Peter panicked.
“What? Spending time together? That’s crazy. Why would we do that?” Peter sputtered out while you nodded in agreement.
“But you went to Peter’s apartment a few weeks ago, right Y/n? You told me that when I asked you why you kept changing your clothes.” Morgan asked you.
“So you remember that but can’t remember not to put both legs in the same pant leg?” You sassed her.
“Woah. The girls are fighting. It’s okay, Morgan. Pants are confusing.” Pepper assured her youngest daughter.
“Oh, so is that why you were bugging me for his address for days? You wanted to visit?” Tony asked you, making you hang your head in defeat.
“For days, huh? You must’ve really wanted to find me.“ Peter smiled in amusement as he looked over at you.
“Oh, yeah. It was all she could talk about after the earthquake. She was begging me to find your addresses but all I could remember about it was that it was an old brick building with a very strange doorman. And that describes most apartment buildings in your neck of the woods. She eventually gave up on me and had FRIDAY track your suit down. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think she was trying to find you so she could go kill you.” Tony shrugged and took a bite of his pasta.
“And you didn’t try to stop her?” Peter asked him.
“I like to let my daughters express themselves however they choose.” Tony answered. “But why did you need to go to his apartment, anyway, sweet pea?”
“Because I wanted to talk to him but we never exchanged numbers so I had to drop in like it was the 1950s.” You said and hoped that would stop the conversation there.
“You never exchanged numbers? That’s not good. What if you needed to contact each other for an emergency?” Pepper pointed out.
“Yeah. You should do that right now.” Tony agreed and gestured between the two of you.
“Dad, I’m not giving him my number. We’re eating dinner. We can do it later.” You grumbled. Peter couldn’t help but smirk at seeing the brattier side of you.
“What if we forget? Come on. Just exchange now. I’ll feel better knowing you guys can reach each other in case of an emergency.”
“Fine. Here.” You sighed and handed over your phone to Peter.
“What’s with the animosity?”Tony wondered. “I thought you guys finally liked each other after the earthquake?”
“Like each other? We do not like each other. That’s ridiculous.” You insisted as Peter turned bright red.
“You don’t?”Tony frowned. “But you went on and on about how Peter protected you during the earthquake. And Happy said that you asked him to tell you anytime Peter called with updates.”
“You asked Happy to tell you if I called?” Peter couldn’t help but smile as he asked you.
“I just wanted to know if you were okay.” You asked quietly.
“I’ve been fine.”Peter shrugged. “There hasn’t been another earthquake or anything.”
“Oh, no. She asked Happy for that long before the earthquake. It was a couple months ago, right princess?” Tony asked you. You glared at him and wondered if he was doing this on purpose.
“Why would you ask Happy for updates on me months ago?” Peter asked with genuine confusion now.
“I don’t know, Peter. I don’t have all the answers. I’m not Bing.”
“Ew. Who uses Bing?” Tony grimaced.
“I do. Excuse me. I’ll be right back.” You said and abruptly left the table. Everyone exchanged looks but shrugged it off and went back to eating. Peter pushed his food around with his fork for a minute before excusing himself and going after you. He found you in your room, a place he had never been in before. You were sitting on your bed and hugging a pillow to your chest as you stared at the ground. Peter knocked on the doorframe and you jumped.
“Hey. I thought you might want this.” Peter said and held up your phone.
“Oh. Thanks.” You said sheepishly and held out your hand for him to give it back.
“No problem. You got a text, by the way.” Peter said with a smirk. You looked at him curiously before reading the text on your screen.
“How are things going with lover boy?” You read out loud with zero amusement in your voice. You looked up at Peter with an annoyed look and he just shrugged.
“That’s not about you.” You scoffed.
“Oh, it’s not? Is there a different lover boy coming over that I should know about?” Peter asked sarcastically and pointed behind him.
“No. Because you don’t need to know anything about me.” You snapped and got off your bed.
“I don’t know why you’re pissed at me. I don’t think I did anything wrong here. You’re the one who kissed me.” Peter pointed out, growing angry now.
“I know I was. And I’m so sorry because I can tell how much you hated it.” You said sarcastically.
“I hated it?” Peter laughed in shock. “You’re the one who said it didn’t mean anything to you. But don’t worry, I didn’t tell anyone about it. I know how much it meant to you that no one found out.”
“Peter, I don’t care if you told your weirdo little friend about our kiss.” You whined. “I only said that so you didn’t tell Happy or my dad or something.”
“Why would I tell your dad that we kissed?”
“You told my dad when your six piece chicken nugget had eight pieces.”
“But how would that have happened? They don’t sell eight piece nuggets. It’s either four, six, or ten. There is no eight nugget option.”
“Someone probably just put a few extra in your box on accident.”
“You sound just like your dad.” Peter mumbled.
“Can we please just get through this dinner and move on with our lives?” You sighed.
“Yes. That’s fine. I know how badly you want the dinner to end so that you never have to see me again.” Peter said with a roll of his eyes.
“When did I ever say I didn’t want to see you anymore?” You asked in exasperation.
“You’ve made it pretty clear.”
“Why are you so mad at me? What did I even do to you?” You genuinely asked him.
“You kissed me!” Peter shouted and pointed to himself. You fell silent for a moment at how desperate he sounded but then fired back.
“You kissed me back.” You pointed out.
“It’s not the same.” Peter shook his head and quieted down. “That’s not the same.”
“How is that not the same?” You shrugged and folded your arms.
“Because I liked you!” Peter raised his voice again. Your eyebrows went up in surprise as he retreated into himself.
“I liked you for years and you finally kissed me and then didn’t want to talk about it. You asked me to forget it ever happened.” Peter said quietly.
“But you’re the one who said it forget about it. You’re the one who said it was just a heat of the moment thing. You’re the one who said we should pretend it never happened. I never said any of that.” You said in a soft voice. Peter looked up at you and replayed the conversation in his head. When he realized you were absolutely right, he felt guilty for yelling at you.
“Well….yes.” He said weakly. You were both silent for a long time as neither of you knew what to say. You had been avoiding eye contact with each other until you stepped closer to him.
“You liked me?” You asked him.
“Yeah. I did.” Peter shrugged and looked into your eyes. He knew there was no point in taking it back now.
“Did?” You asked in a sad voice. “Did” meant that he no longer felt that way. Before Peter could answer you, Tony appeared in the doorway.
“Hey, are you guys gonna be eating dessert because Morgan’s been eying your cake and I honestly can’t promise it’ll be there when we go back. That girl is a beast.” Tony blew out a breath. You and Peter looked at each other for a split second before looking away.
“No. I’m gonna head out early.” Peter answered. “Thank you for the dinner, Mr. Stark. It was lovely.”
“Oh, I didn’t make it.” Tony laughed. “I haven’t made anything in months. Did you know that the raspberry in raspberry toaster strudels isn’t real?”
“Goodnight, Mr. Stark.” Peter smiled weakly at him and headed for the door.
“Night, kid. Tell your yummy aunt I said hi.” Tony called after him. You let out a sigh once Peter had left and sat back down on your bed.
“What do you think about Peter?” Tony asked now that Peter was gone.
“What? I don’t think about him.” You scoffed. “I wouldn’t care even if he broke all his legs and arms and had to wear a full body cast.”
Tony let out a little chuckle and shook his head when he heard this.
“What?” You wondered.
“Nothing. I just realized why I sought Peter out to add him to the team despite him having 0 experience and almost no discernible skills outside of being sticky.”
“Why?”
“He reminds me of my daughter.” Tony said with a fond smile. You couldn’t help but smile as well and nod your head.
“Daddy…” You began and trailed off. Tony took a seat beside you and patted your hand.
“I know, kid. I know.” Tony said with a sympathetic smile.
“Was it obvious?” You asked sheepishly.
“Yes. Neither of you are good at hiding things.” Tony replied. “Also, I watched the security footage in the lab from the day of the earthquake. I’m not sure how watching him wolf down baby carrots didn’t give you the ick.”
“I don’t know either. But it was just one kiss. It didn’t mean anything. And it’s never going to happen again. I’m pretty sure he hates me now.” You sighed and looked down at your hands.
“I don’t know about that. Did you know that every time he calls to update Happy about what he’s been up to, he asks about how you’re doing?” Tony asked you.
“He does?”
“Oh, yeah.” Tony nodded. “I wouldn’t worry about him hating you. But you do need to tell him how you feel. Annoying little nerds are all over this city, but ones like him are rare.”
“And you’ll be okay with it?” You asked skeptically.
“With you having a conversation with him, yes. But if a romance begins to bud and or blossom, I’m gonna have to have a word with him.” Tony informed you.
“Fair enough. I love you, dad.” You smiled and rested your head on his shoulder.
“Love you too, kid.” Tony replied. “Now let’s go eat some cake that someone else made.
A few days after the dinner, Peter returned to the tower and went straight to the robotics lab to continue working on something for his suit. He put his earbuds in and played his music so loudly that he never heard you come in. He only noticed you when you waved your hand in front of his face to get his attention. He burned bright pink as he pulled his earbuds out.
“Oh, hi. Sorry, I didn’t hear you come in. Here for another inspection?”
“No.” You said simply and Peter blushed a little at the implication that you were there to see him. You gave him an apologetic smile and he returned it to show that you weren’t there for another fight. You walked over to his side of the table and put one of his earbuds in your ears.
“What are you listening to?” You asked him.
“Oh, uh, just some indie song I found.” Peter shrugged. You pressed play on his phone and One Less Lonely Girl by Justin Bieber began to play in your ears.
“Oh. Yeah. Very indie.” You smirked and took the earbud out.
“His old stuff was really good.” Peter mumbled.
“Oh, I know. I still listen to “Somebody To Love” all the time.”
“Did you need something? Because I don’t think you came in here to talk about Justin Bieber.”
“I did, actually.”
“Oh.” Peter’s smiled dropped when he heard how serious you sounded.
“I’m kidding. Sorry. I meant to sound sarcastic but it came out really genuine.” You smiled in embarrassment.
“It’s okay. I hear thats a symptom of Bieber fever.” Peter said seriously, making you laugh.
“So, I wanted to talk about the other day. All three of ther days, actually. But it seems like you and I can’t have moments without getting interrupted.”
“Just like that girl in that Ben Afleck movie.” Peter said with a weak smile.
“What Ben Alfeck movie?”
“Girl, Interrupted.” Peter answered.
“Ben Afleck isn’t in that. Are you thinking of Gone Girl?”
“Are we gonna talk about the kiss or what?” Peter asked to change the subject.
“Yes.” You blew out a breath. “We are.”
Peter nodded and gestured to you to go first. You sighed and looked him in the eyes.
“When I came over the other day, I had a lot more to say then just asking you not to tell anyone. And the only reason I didn’t want you to tell anyone was because I didn’t want it getting back to my dad until we knew what we were. I didn’t know at that point if the kiss was a one time thing or if we were gonna be something more. I just wanted it to stay between us until I knew for sure where we stood. And I was going to tell you that I wanted to figure it out together and see where things went. But then I panicked and felt too embarrassed to explain all of that and then you looked so sad so I felt bad but then you made that joke about the seaplane and I could tell you onyl said it to make me feel better about making you feel bad so then I felt even worse and then your little friend came over and kept talking about TJ Maxx and I just had to get out of there.” You said all in one breath.
“Woah. That was the most amount of words you ever said to me at once.” Peter blinked in surprise.
“I know.”You laughed lightly. “And I’m not even done yet, believe it or not.”
“Go on. Before another natural disaster happens or a person walks in. And I honestly don’t know which would be worse.”
“Look, Peter, I never meant to make it seem like the kiss meant nothing to me. It did mean something. You mean something. I would not have kissed you if it didn’t mean anything to me.” You told him.
“So it wasn’t just a kiss just because you thought you were gonna die and needed some comfort and the only source around was your dad’s weird child friend?” He asked for reassurance.
“I did think I was gonna die.” You admitted. “I just didn’t want to die without ever getting the chance to kiss you. Which is something I had been wanting to do for a while.”
“It is?” Peter asked as you took a step closer to him and rested your hands on his chest.
“I don’t open up to people a lot. I don’t like letting my guard down. And I definitely don’t like having mushy feelings for some dumb boy that my dad found on YouTube a couple years ago.”
“Aw.” Peter said sarcastically.
“But I liked you. I have for a while.” You admitted. “And I didn’t think I could be the cool, collected, stoic bosses daughter if I had some schoolgirl crush. So I pushed it down and acted cold towards you while secretly wondering what your lips felt like.”
“And how did they feel?” Peter asked with a shy smile.
“Incredibly moisturized to the point they were almost slippery and I’m pretty sure whatever lipbalm you use has glitter in it because it was all over my face afterwards.”
“You’re welcome.” Peter smirked.
“And I’m sorry about the fight too. I had no idea how to act around you after the kiss and I kept making things worse.”
“No, the fight was my fault. I assumed you regretted the kiss and wanted to forget about it but never actually asked how you felt. I put words in your mouth and then got mad at you for them. I was just feeling emo that after all these years of pinning after you, we had a kiss that led to nothing.”
“It doesn’t have to lead to nothing.” You smiled coyly as you wrapped your arms around his torso. Peter took that as his cue to lean in and kiss you without the threat of a natural disaster looking over your heads. He couldn’t help but smile into the kiss as he put his hands on his face to pull you closer. When you pulled away, you rubbed your lips together to try to decipher the flavor of his lip balm.
“Cherry?” You asked him.
“Cherry Blossom Bliss.” He corrected. “The tube is pink and it’s shaped like lipstick.”
“I thought so.” You chuckled.
“So, what does this mean for us? Are we still keeping it a secret or should I call my seaplane guy back?” Peter asked you.
“I want to give us a try. I mean, we survived an earthquake together. I think we can survive telling my dad that we’re dating.”
“I think so too.” He grinned and leaned in to kiss you again.
“Wouldn’t it be funny if there was a tornado right now?” He asked once you pulled away. You threw your hands up in defeat and left the lab entirely.
“Come on.”Peter called after you. “It would be a little funny.”

clean 2
tfatws! bucky barnes x stark! reader
bucky and you finally start your life together, washing each other clean of your pasts
word count: 2k | warnings: coupleish fluff with a hint of angst, part one
"Bucky, you have to admit, the navy sofa looks so much better than the green one."
The two sofas were displayed on two sets of phones, seemingly calling to be chosen. It was a tough pick, but ultimately, Bucky knew whatever color you wanted was going to be the one you'd get.
It had been a whole month since your first kisses, since the harsh end of Karli, and the new beginning to much happier lives. So far, the only people to know about Bucky and your relationship was Pepper and Morgan, both extremely accepting of the news. You both decided to wait on telling sam until your apartment was perfectly ready for visitors. That, of course, came with the much needed decoration of the place.
"C'mon, doll. Our sofa now is already so nice." Bucky argued.
Your face was dumbfounded, "Buck, that sofa was the previous owners. Imagine how gross it is, we have to get a new one. Plus, you can't say no to the one who's buying."
Bucky gave a defeated sigh, "I'm pretty sure this money isn't what Tony intended it to be for."
"Well, technically it's all my money since I own the company." You debated with a shrug. "And it's what I intend to use it for, that's all that matters."
So, with a few clicks, the couch was bought.
The apartment was filled with decorations now. It felt so much homier and more comfortable. Now, with you by his side, Bucky finally felt comfortable sleeping in a bed once again. Of course, it was one you had picked out, but Bucky didn't mind; you had wonderful taste.
The vibration of your phone buzzed in your pocket. Pulling it out to look at the screen, you smiled and showed it to Bucky.
"Hello?" You said as you pressed the accept button.
"Hi Auntie Iron!" Morgan's sweet voice came through the phone, out on speaker for you and Bucky to hear. You could see his eyes melt at her words.
"Hi there, Miss Morgan!" You cheered back. "How's my favorite niece in the whole wide galaxy?"
Morgan giggled, "I'm you're only niece!"
"Exactly!" You laughed. "How's Momma? Is she the one who called?"
"No, I'm mad at her." Morgan pouted, causing you to give a cheeky look to Bucky. "She won't let me have more juice pops."
You feigned a gasp, "No she didn't,"
"Tell her I can have all the juice pops ever!" Morgan cried out in exasperation.
"Well, Morgie, Momma said I have to be a better influence on you," You paused, handing the phone to Bucky, "But she never said your favorite Uncle had to be."
Morgan let out a huge gasp, "Uncle Bucky?" She yelled excitedly.
"Hi Morgan," Bucky smiled as he spoke. Bucky was nervous to meet Morgan, and officially meet Pepper, too. After about three and a half minutes, Morgan had Bucky wrapped around her little finger as she dangled from his metal arm. It took Pepper only seven minutes to accept Bucky with welcoming arms, with a slight amount of hesitancy, of course. But seeing Morgan so obsessed with him, it was hard to not crack. Now, you'd have to say Pepper liked Bucky more than you, and you were her in-law. "I hear your Mom won't let you have any more juice pops."
"It's not fair!" Morgan cried, "I only had one. Tell her you said it's okay, Uncle Buck!"
Bucky chuckled, "But did you have a cheeseburger today?"
Morgan went silent, "... No."
"Well that's probably why then," Bucky laughed. "How about this, you promise your Mom you'll eat all your vegetables at dinner and then you can have a juice pop before bed."
Through the phone, it was clear Morgan was gagging. "I hate carrots!"
"Then you probably won't get a juice pop. I'm doin' you a favor, Morg." Bucky said. "Your Mom's stubborn, this is the best deal I can get you."
A large sigh came through, "Fine," Morgan sighed, "But I want a purple one!"
"Then a purple one it is," Bucky grinned as Morgan cheered.
After a few minutes of talking to Pepper after Morgan finally handed the phone over, you laid your head on Bucky's lap as his hand found your hair. "They love you," You smiled.
"I love them," Bucky replied. A small silence ensued right after, and by looking at Bucky's face, his brows all creased and lips pressed together, you knew he was in deep thought.
"What?" You questioned softly, looking up and softly caressing his cheek. "Are you thinking about Steve?"
Bucky took sight of your face and knew there was no use lying. "You always know exactly what I'm thinking about." He mused, watching as you tilted your head slightly. "I'm just thinking about how.. happy he would've been for us."
"You think?" You acknowledged.
"Yeah," Bucky nodded thoughtfully. "He would've been over the moon for us." Bucky sat you up, sitting you down on his lap as his arms enclosed around your waist. "He woulda seen how happy you make me, how loved I feel. He would've had no choice but to love us."
With a small laugh, you put your hands on Bucky's cheeks, "He might've cried if you put it to him like that," You remarked as Bucky smiled softly. "You two are just big ol' softies,"
"Only for you, doll." Bucky's thumbs rubbed soft circles over your clothes in the softest touch he could give.
"What else are you thinking about?" You continued, "There's never just one thought in that mind of yours."
Bucky clicked his tongue, "Are you sure you aren't a mind reader? Maybe that suit is ingrained in your brain or something." You both laughed. Bucky continued, "I'm thinking about if Tony would've been happy for us."
"I think he would've," You answered as Bucky raised a brow. "Buck, I've literally never had a boyfriend longer than maybe two weeks. If anything, Tony would be thrilled I'm not dying alone in the near future." Bucky gave a small lopsided smile as you continued. "But I truly, from the bottom of my heart, believe he would've been so happy I found someone who loves me so much."
"He still would've punched me," Bucky shrugged.
You nodded with a hesitant grin, "Probably, but then he would've loved us."
Quickly, Bucky spoke, his words in a rush. "I wanna tell Sam about us."
Previously, you'd both talked about how you wanted to keep this private. However, it was becoming increasingly harder with the press following "CEO Stark" around everywhere, and how Sam wouldn't stop nagging Bucky about why he's been so off the radar in the last month.
"Are you sure it's time?" You asked softly. "We can still wait if you need time,"
Bucky's heart swelled at your gentle words. You always knew what to say to remind him he's his own person, allowed to make his own opinions, have his own thoughts and feelings. "Yeah, doll. I'm sure I'm ready."
"Okay," You nodded, a small smile creeping on your face. "When do we wanna tell him?"
"How about I invite him over to see the newly decorated place, and then we tell him together, in person." Bucky offered. He was always so good at making the best plans.
You nodded quickly, wrapping your arms around his neck as you pulled him in for a kiss. "That sounds wonderful," You agreed as you pulled apart.
"Man, this place looks great!" You heard Sam remark as he walked into your living room. Right now, you were waiting in Bucky and your bedroom for the right time to come out. "Did you hire some interior designer to do this? No way your taste picked out this shit."
Bucky laughed, "No, but I'll give your compliments to the chef,"
You could hear them walking around, "I'm proud of you, Bucky, really. You're doing great for yourself."
"I've had a lot of help along the way," Bucky replied. You didn't hear any footsteps anymore, so you assumed they were sitting down.
"Damn, this is a nice couch." Sam commented. You gave yourself a metaphorical pat on the back, you knew the navy one would be the best. "It's soft, this is nice. I could sleep here." After a beat, Sam asked, "So, what have you been up to?"
"I could ask you the same, Cap," Bucky teased.
Sam laughed, "Not too much, just a lot of press, then going back home to be with the family."
You could tell Bucky was probably nodding along, humming in reply like he always did. "Look, man. I have something I've been wanting to tell you." This was it.
"Oh God, who did you piss off this time?" Sam sighed as Bucky chuckled.
"It's not that bad," Slowly, you opened the bedroom door as quietly as you could and hid behind the wall, right around the corner to the living room. "There's something I- we've, been meaning to tell you,"
Before Sam could reply, you turned the corner and gave a small wave, leaning up on the fronts of your feet nervously. "Hi, Sam."
The look on Sam's face was so priceless you wished you would've taken a photo. For a moment, he just gaped at you, looking back and forth between Bucky and you. Then, the biggest smile known to man pushed its way through as he stood up, tightly hugging Bucky and giving him a clap on the back. "Man, I knew something was up with you!" Sam made his way over to you and gave you a tight hug. "And I knew Bucky wasn't the one to make this place look as nice as it does." The three of you laughed as you sat down next to Bucky, his arm wrapping around your waist.
"Any questions?" You asked as Sam sat down next to you. His eyes glimmered as he beamed.
"So many," Sam replied quickly. "One, who started this? Two, how long? Three, who else knows? Four-"
Bucky held out a hand, "Let's just start with three for now. Technically me, I kissed her first."
"And its been about a month now," You continued. "The only other people who know are Pepper and Morgan."
Sam raised a brow, "What was the jury's vote?"
"Jury voted in favor," You responded. "Bucky's already Morg's favorite uncle."
Bucky's face turned pink in embarrassment as Sam laughed, "Wow, Uncle Buck. I didn't know you were such a child magnet. All the kids you meet love you."
"What can I say, I'm just a people person." Bucky joked.
"It's just the metal arm," You joked as Bucky squeezed your side causing you to sequel lightly, pushing yourself into his side as he chuckled. "Soon we're hopefully gonna get a cat, too."
Bucky sighed, "Doll, I've already told you, we cannot get a cat."
"You'll love a cat!" You cried, "Plus, you're an animal person, you can't lie about that."
Sam chimed in, "Its true. When he met Kate Bishop's dog, he couldn't leave that thing alone for more than two minutes."
"It was the dog who couldn't leave me alone," Bucky scoffed.
The three of you continued to laugh and talk all night. Sam eventually convinced you both to come down to Sarah's again to spend some more time there. Of course, you quickly agreed. Now that your best friend and close family knew, it felt like all was becoming normal for once in your lives. Now was the time you began to shed yourselves free of your past and make a happier future together. Finally, you were both clean.

Masterlist.
It was a hot summer day and Wanda Maximoff found herself making her way up the massive driveway of her girlfriend, Y/N Stark's house, feeling beyond terrified as today would be the day she would be celebrating her first annual Stark picnic party, therefore ensuring she would be meeting the rest of her girlfriend's extended family.
As Wanda got closer to the huge double doors, she wiped her sweaty palms on her shorts and exhaled a breath to help settle her nerves, "okay Wanda, you can do this," she whispers to herself as she presses the doorbell, heart racing in anticipation.
As she waits for a minute she hears rustling and yelling coming from inside the house and she sends a quick prayer up above once the doorknob starts rattling, that the person to greet her is either you, Pepper or Tony.
Once the door swings open, the redhead lets out a sigh in relief as your smiling face comes into view.
“Hey baby, you made it!” You exclaim happily, pulling your girlfriend in by the waist and kissing her softly.
Wanda hums against your lips, feeling her nerves wash away as she stands in your arms, a smile over taking her face, “hello good-looking,” the redhead whispers with a loving smile.
“Hola hermosa,” you reply with a playful wink. “How you doing? You okay to meet everyone?” You ask your girlfriend as you hold her against your chest.
Wanda plays with the collar of your shirt lightly, her lip caught between her teeth as she shakes her head slowly, “honestly detka, I'm nervous. What if they don't like me?” She questions softly.
You move back slightly, taking her face into your hands, rubbing soothing circles on her cheekbones, “hey Wands, look at me,” you say just as soft and nervous green eyes meet yours. “They are going to love you. My parents, Tony, Pepper and Morgan already do and they're the most important people in my life. This is just an extension of that love, and if they don't like you, then they are all idiots and I could care less what they have to say,” you tell your girlfriend with conviction, “but they will love you Max, because you're wonderful, and you make me truly happy. Plus what's not to love, you're the best!” You say, a dopey lovesick smile on your face, eyes crinkled in delight.
Wanda laughs, enamored at the sight of your happiness, “okay, I trust you babe, let's do this,” she says after a minute.
You take Wanda's hand, rubbing soothing circles to help ease her nerves as you both make your way through the huge house. “I'm with you every step of the way, if it gets to be too much let me know and we're out of here,” you tell Wanda and she nods appreciatively once you make it to your big backyard.
As Wanda is looking around, she catches sight of your brother, his wife and some of their closest friends near the grill and some tables, as some others are by or in the pool and the tension she felt in her shoulders melts away.
“Let's go say hi to Tony,” you say, as you pull the redhead towards your older brother and his friends. Once you’re near your older brother you reluctantly let go of Wanda's hand, “Tony!” You exclaim excitedly to your brother that is manning the grill.
“Hey! Short stack!” Tony says just as excited, as he hands the spatula to the person beside him and pulls you in for a tight bear hug.
“I'm not a short stack,” you mutter into your brother's shoulder, “I'm literally an inch taller than you,” you pout, causing the people around you to let out a laugh.
“Technicalities kid,” he says as he pulls back, his signature smirk on his face, “so how are you?” He asks sincerely, an arm going around your shoulders, “are you doing okay? Taking care of yourself?” He says looking at you softly, being a dad has done him wonders.
“Yeah Tony, I'm doing great, thanks for asking,” you say with an appreciative smile, “how are you guys doing? How's the little critter? Where is she by the way?” You ask, scanning the backyard for your niece.
Tony walks a short distance with you away from the grill, “we're great! She's as great as can be and she's over by the pool with Steve and Bucky,” he says with a smile, pointing out his daughter dressed in a cute pink swimsuit and a matching pink life vest, splashing around two of the men you've known for a good portion of your life. “She is an extreme troublemaker though. Just as chaotic as you were at age 4. I swear, if you two have children, I hope they're as bad as you were at that age so you can see what I had to deal with,” Tony says with a chuckle, looking between you and Wanda, causing both of you to blush at the topic of having children together.
“I wasn't a troublemaker,” you mumble shyly, looking at the ground, cheeks burning red.
“You so were a troublemaker!” Tony says mildly offended, “you nearly gave me a heart-attack every time we went out because of how much trouble you caused,” he begins ranting, “you literally made me swear off teen pregnancy!” Tony exclaims, drawing eyes to you both at his loud outburst.
“Tony, shut up!” You whisper yell with a laugh covering your brother's mouth with your hands, “I get it, okay, I was a little shit,” you say and Wanda lets out an amused laugh.
Tony begins swatting your arms, “get your hands off of me,” he huffs, pushing you away from him and you laugh harder.
“Well then shut up, because you're causing a scene,” you say, your older brother looking scandalized.
“I'm causing a scene?” Tony gasps, his voice going slightly higher.
“Yes, you're causing a scene,” you tease, a smirk on your face because you know just how well to get under your brother's skin.
“Oh, you take that back or I'll show you a scene,” Tony says, advancing towards you quickly, causing you to run behind Wanda, grabbing both her arms and maneuvering her as if she were a human shield, protecting you from your brother, “get over here kid,” he says, arms trying to reach around Wanda to get to you.
“No,” you say playfully, still using your girlfriend's body to help you deflect his hands.
“Come on, I just wanna talk,” Tony says exasperated, still running circles around the redhead.
“Oh no you don't, you want to hurt me,” you laugh.
“Nuh uh,” he says childishly, causing you to laugh out even louder, “please Y/N/N leave lovely Wanda out of this and let's talk,” Tony says with a faux softness, seizing his movements, causing you to stop as well. “See that wasn't so hard, was it?” He says, and once you're caught off guard enough, he quickly says, “sorry Wanda,” and softly pushes your girlfriend to the side to reach you, putting you in a chokehold and rubbing his knuckles on your head as he has done plenty of times before.
“Ow, shit Tony, let go you fucker,” you yell, your arms going to push at your brother's waist in an attempt to shove him off and break your head free.
“No, take it back,” he says his arms tight, just enough to keep your head in a hold without actually hurting you.
“But you were causing a scene,” you say, not one to back down.
“No, I wasn't.”
“Yes, you were.”
“No, I wasn't.”
“Yes, you were.”
You begin arguing back and forth, tussling about.
“Children, please stop your bickering,” you hear a voice above you say, and both you and Tony stop to look at Pepper, an amused smile on her face, “Tony, let your sister go,” she demands and your brother let's go immediately, “now, both of you, apologize to each other,” the blonde says sternly, causing both you and Tony to look like scolded kids.
“I'm sorry,” you both mutter and the people around you let out laughs.
“Now, hug it out,” Pepper smiles, and both you and Tony do, pulling away in a second, proceeding to stick your tongues out at each other. “Oh, my god, Pepper laughs, “children. You two are literal children,” Pepper says, turning to face your laughing girlfriend. “Hello Wanda, how are you?” Pepper asks, arms wrapping around the redhead.
“I'm doing great Pep, how are you?” Wanda asks sincerely, returning the hug.
“I'm great as well,” she smiles, “but, I think my child needs a nap.”
Tony looks at his wife with a frown of confusion and asks, “what? Is Morgan tired? She slept on the way here.”
Pepper shakes her head and says, “not Morgan, you! Now quit being a cranky pants, stop fighting with your sister and get back to manning the grill. You handed the spatula to Nat and if we want any more burgers and hotdogs, you better take over quickly,” the blonde teases.
Causing an offended, “hey!” To be heard through the backyard.
As your brother walks away from you by orders of his wife, you make your way towards some of Tony's friends.
“Hey Nat,” you greet the offended redhead that is sitting down in a chair, sulking while drinking a beer.
“Hey kid,” the slightly older woman greets happily, standing up to pull you into a hug.
“You remember my girlfriend Wanda, right?” You say as you move back towards the redhead, wrapping an arm around her waist.
“Of course I remember her, we've met a couple of times Y/N,” Natasha laughs, rolling her eyes teasingly, “Wanda, good to see you again,” she says kindly, also pulling your girlfriend into a hug.
“Good to see you again too Nat,” Wanda nods with a smile as she pulls back.
“So, not that I don't want to spend some time with you two, but you should really go around and greet everyone else. They haven't taken their eyes off of you since you both walked in,” Natasha says with a head nod in the general direction of the rest of your family and both you and Wanda turn around to see that everyone is, in fact, looking at you.
At this, Wanda immediately puts her hand in yours, her nerves suddenly reappearing tenfold, causing her to tense. Something that Natasha immediately notices.
“You've got this Wanda,” the woman says with a smile, hand coming to squeeze your girlfriend's shoulder reassuringly, “you'll do great, they're all pretty cool, except for a few bad seeds, but you've got mini Stark with you, she won't let anything bad happen to you,” Natasha winks at you both softly and you smile in appreciation. “Come and find me later, we definitely need to catch up,” the redhead says and you both nod, then walk away in search of your parents.
As you locate your mother talking to some of your aunts, you pull Wanda towards the small circle and greet your mother.
“Hey Mami, look who's here,” you say, a smile overtaking your face.
“Wanda!” Your mother greets happily, pulling your girlfriend into a hug, “I'm so glad you could make it, cariño,” she smiles.
“Me too, Mrs. Stark,” Wanda says with a polite smile.
“Oh Wanda, what have we said about calling me Mrs. Stark?” Your mom scolds playfully, hands coming to her hips, causing you and Wanda laughter.
“To not call you that, my apologies Maria,” Wanda blushes.
“It's alright cariño,” Maria Stark winks, then she turns to look at you, “now Y/N, does your father know that Wanda is here?” She asks and you shake your head. “Well, let him know immediately and after you do, you can go ahead and go around showing her off to the rest of the family,” the older Stark woman says and you grin, “but please, for the love of all that is holy. Don't go bragging to your cousin Jarvis about Wanda and how you can keep a girl longer than he can. He's already resentful that some of your cousins and his brother have married before him,” your mother says, “and I definitely do not want to break up a fight today.”
“Oh, come on mom, but Jarvis is an ass-“ you begin, but your mother's glare cuts you right off.
“Y/N Y/M/N Stark, do not talk about your cousin that way,” Maria scolds, causing you to shut up immediately. Knowing you do not want to go against your mother because you certainly don't have a death wish.
“Fine, I promise to be civil. But, if he gets out of line, I won't hold back. You know how he likes to push my buttons and literally has no ounce of human decency. If he tries anything with Wanda, I won't be held responsible for my actions,” you say sternly and your mother sighs.
“Okay, but please for my sake hijita, don't antagonize him,” Maria says softly.
Your girlfriend takes your hand, then looks at your mother, “I'll make sure she behaves, Maria,” Wanda smiles, “now come on baby, let's go find your dad,” the redhead says, tugging your hand to get you to walk away.
Y/N throws Wanda a loving smile and squeezes her hand, eyes flitting around the huge backyard, “do you see him anywhere?” You ask and Wanda shakes her head, “I think I see him over there right outside the kitchen actually,” you say as you guide Wanda towards your father.
When you reach your father you realize some of his business partners are with him and slowly approach, “hello everybody, pops, can I pull you away for a minute?” You ask softly, as you and Wanda wave politely at the men.
“Sure!” He exclaims happily, “I see Wanda is here,” he smiles, his arms opening up to hug your girlfriend, “so how are you both doing? Are you finding everything okay?” Howard Stark asks.
“Yes Mr. Stark, everything is great, lovely party,” Wanda replies nervously, and you squeeze her hand to help ground her.
“Great, great!” Your father's loud voice booms, “I'm glad you're having a good time, and please, what have we said about calling me Mr. Stark?” He smiles and Wanda blushes.
“I'm sorry Howard, I just assumed since you were in company you'd want me to greet you formally,” Wanda stutters.
“Oh please, don't you worry about formalities when speaking to me no matter who I'm with. You're practically my daughter now with how long you two have been together, Howard is always fine, or dad,” he winks in good nature, “but never Mr. Stark, we're family now,” your dad grins and Wanda smiles tearfully as you rush to hug him.
“Thanks dad,” you whisper emotionally against his chest.
“Anytime kid,” he whispers back, placing a kiss on your forehead, “now go ahead and introduce her to everyone, I'll see you after the party, okay?” He says, you and Wanda nod.
As you walk away from your dad and to a more secluded spot in the backyard, you take Wanda's hands into yours and stand in front of her, “okay amor, how are you holding up? Is it getting to be all too much or are you good to keep on going?” You ask softly, eyes full of concern as you look at Wanda.
Wanda squeezes your hands, letting go of one to put a strand of hair behind your ear as she responds, “I'm actually doing good because you're by my side. We can keep going,” Wanda smiles and you nod with a smile as well.
“Sounds good, babe. Okay, let's start with my aunt Rebecca and my uncle Adam, you remember them right?” You ask as you begin walking towards the pair. At the lack of response you turn to face Wanda who is sporting a clueless look causing you to chuckle, “they're the ones that let us use they're restaurant for our 3rd year anniversary.”
“Oh... okay,” Wanda nods, still slightly clueless and you laugh, halting your walk to place a soft kiss on your girlfriend's cheek in adoration.
“I love you,” you say with laughter and Wanda beams.
“I love you,” the redhead replies with a bright smile, continuing her trek beside you to meet your family.
As both of you make your rounds of greeting family members, you stop every so often to make sure Wanda is doing alright, something she greatly appreciates having met throngs and throngs of Stark's in such little time.
You even put off meeting Jarvis until the very end not wanting Wanda's impression of your family to be tainted by your douchebag of a cousin.
After you have finally greeted everyone you begrudgingly take Wanda to meet your cousin Jarvis ‘Vision’ Stark. Someone you truly despised simply because, well, he was a dick.
Coming after several of your girlfriend's since you were a teen, trying to coax them away from you with false promises and the ever so ignorant comments of how being with “a Stark man” was simply the better option.
Standing in front of Jarvis, you introduce your girlfriend to the slimey blonde man, “Max, this is Jarvis,” you say with a nonchalant wave of your hand, not sparing your cousin a glance.
“Hello, it is truly such an honor to meet you,” the man says in what Wanda can only assume is a faux charming tone. The man bending slightly to take her hand in attempts to place a kiss causing Wanda to snatch it back immediately with a grimace.
“It's nice to meet you Jarvis,” Wanda says in discomfort, subtly inching closer to you causing you to wrap your arm around the redhead's waist.
“Please, call me Vision,” the man says, British accent sounding pompous, “Y/N why don't you go and make yourself useful or something and grabs us some drinks, I'd like to take the time to get to know this beautiful woman you have presented me with,” Vision says with a sleazy smile.
“Hey, now listen here you fucking dickhead-” you begin angrily, removing your arm from around Wanda's waist to advance towards Vision.
This makes Wanda spur into action as she places her hand onto your arm rubbing softly to stop you and help ease your anger away, “detka,” the redhead whispers as she looks at your slightly fuming form.
“Sorry. Alright,” you breathe, sending a glare towards the wide eyed man, “what would you like amor?” You ask your girlfriend sweetly.
“I'm okay with just some water please,” the redhead replies, kissing your cheek before you walk away without even asking Vision what he wants.
“So, Wanda,” Vision begins once you’re a good distance away, “have you ever been with a man?” The blonde asks.
Wanda sputters, taken aback by the question, “excuse me?” She asks, offended.
“Yeah, have you ever been with a man?” He asks again, advancing dangerously close to Wanda, “I mean, I love my dear cousin and all, I really do. But being with a real man, a Stark man nonetheless is surely to be the much better option than being with some weak pathetic girl. You'll definitely leave my cousin the minute you spend some time with me and see what I have to offer. Come on, what do you say? I'm sure I can please you way better than-” Vision says, his rambling cut off by a harsh shove coming from the side, effectively knocking him to the ground.
“Are you fucking kidding me?” Wanda hears you angrily ask, “what the fuck is your problem dude! You don't, and I repeat, don't. Ever talk to my girlfriend like that, you piece of fucking shit!” You continue, your figure towering over Vision, “I promised I'd be civil, but you crossed the fucking line you fucking asshole!” You yell, waiting for the blonde man to stand. “Why do you always do this?” You say as you seethe with anger.
“Because, I just don't get it!” Vision screams in frustration, “how do you always manage to pull the hottest looking women when you look like- well when you look like that!” He snarls.
Wanda frowns angrily ready to defend you, but you step up to the man before she can say a word, “because I have human decency you moron and I'm actually secure in the way I look. Plus I happen to be pretty damn fucking great! So I don't care what you have to say about the way that I look cause at least I have a hot, badass girlfriend,” you begin sending Wanda a quick wink, your girlfriend smiling proudly, “and you, you're just so bitter because you know that at this point you're going to end up all alone because nobody fucking likes you. So, I suggest you leave my girlfriend and I alone, or I swear Vision, I will make your life a living hell,” you whisper dangerously low.
“Oh please,” Vision rolls his eyes, “you can keep her for all I care, she's not even that hot anyway,” he says and you take a deep breath to try and calm yourself.
But your anger completely takes over, causing you to knee Vision in the stomach, making him hunch over, giving you the opportunity to swing upward to punch him square on his nose. A gross crack flowing through the backyard eliciting gasps from your family.
“Y/N!” Wanda exclaims as she sees you getting ready to do more damage to the blonde man, “baby, calm down,” the redhead says as her arms come around your waist from behind in an attempt to ground you.
“Apologize, dick face,” you seethe, letting Wanda hold you back.
“Detka, it's okay,” Wanda whispers, watching the tension in your shoulders slowly start to leave.
“No Max, he doesn't get to talk about you like that,” you shake your head, “apologize!” You shout.
“I-I’m sorry,” Vision stutters, groaning painfully from the ground as he clutches his bloody nose.
“Dick,” you mutter angrily, Wanda releasing her hold on you as you turn around and grab her hand to pull her away, “come on babe, lets go talk to someone else,” you say as you drag her inside your house.
“Who are we talking to here?” Wanda asks with her eyebrows furrowed in confusion as she looks around and not another person is in sight.
You laugh softly at the look on your girlfriend’s face, “okay, I lied, there won't be any talking,” you say, pulling Wanda into your body. “But my cousin is clearly blind,” you whisper, eyes raking over the redhead’s body as you caress the soft skin of her face, “talking shit about you while he should be grateful to be in your presence,” you breathe. Placing several kisses on her neck and jaw, “because you amor, are truly a goddess and I plan on worshiping you for a few hours,” you smirk as you pull back, Wanda gasping softly at the hungry look in your eyes, letting you drag her up the stairs and into your room.
-
A few hours later the Stark household is empty save for Tony, Pepper, Morgan, Wanda, you and your parents.
As you're sitting on the couch conversing with your family in the living room, your mom decides to speak up.
“I can't believe you punched Jarvis in the nose,” Maria says, trying so hard not to giggle.
“I'm sorry mom, I really tried, but he went too far,” you reply, remnants of anger still present.
“I know cariño, but I could've gone without the violence,” your mother sighs.
“Hey, he said Wanda wasn't hot and he was being completely disrespectful! I was not going to let him speak about my baby like that!” You pout, pulling Wanda into your lap holding her tightly, causing your family to laugh.
“Well, I for one applaud you short stack. I've been wanting to punch his smug looking face in since he pretty much said the same thing about Pep, but I couldn't, so for that I thank you,” Tony grins, curtseying jokingly.
“Not a problem Tony!” You grin happily, “now I feel slightly less bad about breaking his nose, he’s clearly blind and stupid for talking about our women like that,” you say and Tony nods.
“Alright kids, well it's getting late,” your dad says with a clap of his hands as he stands from his seat, “you're all more than welcome to stay I know your destinations are pretty far, so make yourselves at home,” Howard says, causing you and Tony to nod, “Wanda, I hope you enjoyed yourself today and that the little scuffle from earlier doesn't prevent you from attending more Stark picnics.”
Wanda shakes her head, “I had an amazing time Howard, I will definitely be back,” she says as she glances back at you with a smile.
“Hell yeah, that's my girl,” you say, placing a kiss on her cheek.

Chapter Four | Serie Masterlist | Chapter Six
------------
[Earth 717]
Silence was drowning out the entire complex. Wanda and Natasha didn't leave your bedroom; they spent almost all their time crying. Your aunts were not better. Kate tried to keep the team together while Yelena was pacing on the rooftop.
All the avengers were deadly silent. The only noises that could be heard came from Morgan's lab, where she was trying everything and checking the same data for god knows how long. After your moms and America came back, it was like time had stopped.
Tony was about to see his daughter when a portal in a wall caught his attention. Doctor Strange was finally back, and with him a little hope. It didn't take more than five to gather everyone in the meeting room, where Peter and America explained everything to the sorcerer.
Strange always told you to be careful around people who manipulate the time, and of course, usually, he would be a little angry that you took a big risk like that, but not today.
"How can I help you?" He asked.
"Actually, we don't know. We tried everything, but nothing seemed to work." America said.
The magician was intensely thinking before something came to his mind. "I think I have an idea. I can't promise that it will work, and if so, I don't know if it will help, but at least we will know if something bad happens to little Maximoff." Now every gaze was on him, wating for his idea. "But first we need to go somewhere else." He finished his sentence before opening a portal to Kamar-Taj.
The heroes were following him, a little unsure of what was on his mind. Once they reached a spacious place, he sat down.
"I'll need America, Wanda, and maybe Peter and little Stark." He said while he crossed his legs and waited for them to sit with him. Once everyone was ready, he started to explain his plan. "So, we know how much Y/n is usually connected with Wanda, and we also know that she's not in this universe anymore, which is why I need you," he said, referring to America.
"And why us?" Peter asked.
"You were among the last ones who were the Y/n when she disappeared, so you still have a fresh memory of her. I'll use my power to mentally teleport us back to the accident, and then with Wanda and Y/n's connection and America, we should be able to track her more efficaciously in the multiverse."
Everyone held their breath while a mix of orange and green auras started to cover the group. The memory of the incident started to play in front of everyone. They all looked at that until the moment. You were approaching Khrono after he pinned America against a wall. You lifted your knife, and when you were about to throw it, everything froze.
"Strange, something is wrong with America." Natasha said.
The brunette had her eyes totally shining, but not like when she used her power; it was different. It felt like she didn't control what she was doing. Wanda tried to reach her, but she could not do anything. The younger woman collapsed on the ground.

[Earth 616]
Fury was leaving your room before seeing Maria Hill and Dr. Cho.
"Sir, you made two big discoveries; you need to see that." The doctor said and gave him an iPad while they made their way to his office.
"What is this?" The man asked.
"Scarlet's genetic code." Maria said while they entered the room. "Don't you see something strange?" she asked before showing the same thing on a big screen.
In front of the man's blank face, Cho started to talk. "I analyzed her DNA like you asked. I found two interesting things in her DNA. First the most obvious one," she typed on some bouton on the tablet, and two other genetics were now surrounding yours, "her DNA is the exact same as Wanda Maximoff and Natasha Romanoff. It's like…"
"It's like she's their biological mother." Fury said, and Maria nodded.
"But's that not the only weird thing; look at this," the doctor said before showing the genetic code of every Avenger. "Don't you see something different?" she asked him, and when he shook his head, she started again. "I don't know how to say that, it should be impossible, but there is no trace of any male DNA in hers."
"What do you mean?" the man asked, visibly curious and surprised.
"Usally, when two people decide to have a kid, there should be some trace of both genders DNA in their kid's DNA, whatever the gender." Maria said this time. "Even when a couple decides to go through IVF. But she doesn't. At first, we thought that her dad was someone who wasn't registered in the SHIELD or SWORD data base, but even if we compare with the international data bank, we have no match."
"It doesn't look special like that, but it's impossible even for us or any organization to do something like that. So we exclude Hydra and the Red Room from the list of potential places that she's from." Cho said.
"For a moment, we thought that she might be from another planet, but according to the data that Carol Danvers sent us, there is only one type of alien who can reproduce like that, but their DNA is closer to snail than human." Maria explained.
Fury was staring at the screen, totally unsure of what to say.
"Oh, and before we leave, I need to show you that." The doctor changed the screen. "This is a scan of Scarlet's power; at first, it's okay, but if we look closely, we can see some inconsistent gaps in her energy."
"Which means?" Maria asked this time.
"Two option. Option one, and maybe the most accurate, is that she's losing control over her power, which can explain why she almost kills Sam and the others while she seems totally non-aggressive toward them. And two, even if it's maybe the most crazy one, is that she may be slowly losing her power. The spider boy told me that he saw her falling from the sky just after a red aura around her disappeared." The doctor explained.
"Well, that's more than I imagined. Don't let anyone know about that. Not yet." Fury said, and the two women nodded before leaving the room.
~~~~
Peter was on his phone while a portal opened in his apartment. "Hey, America. What are you doing here?" He asked the young brunette.
"Peter, I think I just found something weird." She replied. "I was curious, so I traveled through the multiverse to find this girl; you know, to try to learn more about her. But there is my probleme I--" She couldn't finish before feeling a big headache.
"America!" Peter caught her before her body hit the floor. "Hey, America, wake up! What should I do? I can't go to see the avenger; I can't—Strange, I need to call Doctor Strange." He picked up America's body and gently laid her on his couch before grabbing his phone.
~~~~
You were staring at the ceiling, trying to figure out what happened, before you heard the door open again. This time, you sat up immediately and stared at the woman in front of you.
"I bet you didn't see that coming, right?" Wanda said before taking a chair and sitting in front of your bed. She stayed like that, saying nothing, just analizing you. "They didn't lie when they said you looked like me and Natasha."
"What are you doing here?" You asked.
"I can ask you the same question." She shrugged. When you didn't talk, she said. "Actually, I saw your fight; you're pretty good, even if you still have some things to learn."
"What do you want?"
"Me, nothing. But you, what do you want, Scarlet?" She smirked. "That's a pretty good name, no? I love scarlet; it's the same color as our power. And even more crazy, it's sound like Scarlet Witch." Her expression suddenly became more dark, and she stared at you. "Now come on, tell me, who are you, Scarlet?"

18+ MINORS DNI
Y/N Stark had always lived in the shadow of their older brother, every accomplishment Y/N had received, he had to outshine them. Although the two of them were polar opposites, Jarvis followed in their father’s footsteps and joined the family company while Y/N found themselves going to UCLA on a football scholarship.Although they only missed one person, besides their mom and Morgan.
Wanda Maximoff was their best friend growing up, all the way through high school, she had a short relationship with James before they all graduated while Y/N met Christine when they were in college. Although they never truly loved Christine how she deserved because their heart belonged to someone else. So their romance was short lived and Y/N went through college having one night stands, no strings attached.
But the moment they came home, Wanda greeted them at the airport, hugging them tightly as she told them about all of the things they had missed.
“Who’s the lucky guy?” They questioned when they noticed the ring on her finger.
“Uh, Jarvis.” She spoke unsurely.
“How did that happen?” They asked her, trying to hide their hurt which Wanda failed to see.
“It was a couple of years ago, we bumped into each other and we got to talking and everything else is history.” She told them. “We also live in an apartment in the city.”
“Oh.” Was all they could say which caught Wanda’s attention.
“Hey, be happy for me.” She told them. “I love him and he has changed.” They just nodded with a tight lipped smile. “He really has.” Once she noticed they weren’t going to say anything, she changed the subject. “When will you know who you play for?” She asked them as they smiled.
“We will find out a couple of months before the season starts.” They told her, a smile on their face which she returned as she held their hand in hers, how they have done it since they were children.
“Are you excited to see everyone again?” She asked as she drove to the Stark’s Mansion.
“I am excited to see my mom and Morgan.” They told her honestly.
“What about your dad? I’m sure he has missed you.” She told them as they shrugged.
“I don’t think so.” They told her. “He never called or even said hello whenever I spoke on the phone with Mom and Morgan.”
“I’m sorry.” She whispered as they shrugged.
“It’s ok.” They told her, a nervous feeling taking over them as they approached home.
“Y/N/N!!” Morgan screamed as soon as they stepped out of Wanda’s car, running straight into them at full speed. “I missed you.” She mumbled as she hugged them tightly.
“I missed you more.” They held her for a moment longer before smiling up at their mom. “Hi mom.” They greeted her as they gave her a sweet hug.
“Come on, let’s head inside.” She told them softly, Morgan taking Wanda’s hand as she dragged her through the house. “Your father and Jarvis are at work if you want to go see them.” She told them as they shrugged.
“I would rather spend the day here with you girls.” They told her honestly, following her into the kitchen.
“He has missed you.” Pepper told them as they just scoffed. “He really has. Your father is a tough man.”
“I know he doesn’t care about me mom, you don’t have to sugar coat it.” They told her.
“Y/N, he loves you.” She told them firmly as they shook their head, a dry chuckle leaving their lips.
“He tolerates me, there’s a difference.” They told her. “He never wanted me to follow my dreams, he never thought I would make it.”
“He just wants what’s best for you.” She told them as they gave her a tight smile.
“I’m going to go and spend some time with Morgan and Wanda.” They told her, giving up on the conversation in regards to their relationship with their father.
“Hi, can I join you?” Y/N asked the two as Morgan nodded.
“But you have to wear a crown because we are princesses.” She told them as she handed them a small plastic crown.
“Don’t you have one with pink diamonds?” They asked her. “Pink brings out my eyes, don’t you think Princess Wanda.”
“Yes.” Wanda chuckled as Morgan swapped crowns with them. Y/N felt at home, spending time with the most important people in their life.
“Everyone has missed you.” Wanda told them as she led them through the bar, holding hands as she soon led them to all of their friends.
“Here they are!!!” Bucky’s voice boomed as he caught sight of the two. Soon wrapping his arms around Y/N and hugging them.
“We’ve missed you.” Nat told them as she pulled them in for a hug.
“I’ve missed you guys.” They beamed as Wanda went to get the two of them something to drink.
“How was life on the west coast?” Steve asked them as they thanked Wanda for the drink.
“It was awesome.” They told them everything from the moment they started their first year of college.
“You see if you’re drafted in a couple of weeks right?” Bucky asked them as they nodded.
“I do.” They rubbed their hands on their bottoms. “I just hope I do get drafted.”
“You were the best Wide Receiver our high school had ever had, you brought us to the state championships each season.” Steve told them. “We know very well that you will be picked.”
“You have always been fast.” Wanda remarked as everyone agreed.
“Thank you.” They smiled before they decided to head over to the bar.
“I'll take it, you know.” Nat told them as she stood beside them.
“I do.” They nodded as they thanked the bartender for their drink. Watching as Nat ordered a couple of shots.
“Why didn’t you ever tell her?” She asked them as they shrugged. “Y/N, you two would have been the perfect couple.”
“But we aren’t.” They told her. “I never told her because I never wanted to lose her. There was always a chance that my feelings weren't reciprocated and I valued our friendship more than anything else in this world.” They took one of the shots and threw it back. “But I only want her to be happy. That’s all I’ve ever wanted and if that’s with Jarvis, then so be it.”
“I have to go.” Wanda told them as soon as the two came back. “Jarvis just messaged and asked where I was.”
“Did you tell him you’re out with friends?” Nat asked her as Wanda nodded.
“He said that he needed me home.” Wanda told them before kissing Y/N’s cheek. “I’ll see you soon.”
“Sure.” They nodded with a small smile, they watched as Wanda disappeared through the crowd towards the exit.
“I really don’t like him.” Bucky mumbled as Y/N nodded with a chuckle.
“I know what you mean.” They agreed, thinking back to their childhood and how he would try his hardest to outshine them at everything, especially when it came to showing interest in the family company.
“Where were you?” Jarvis questioned as soon as Wanda entered their apartment.
“With Y/N, Nat, Steve and Bucky.” Wanda told him. “Everyone wanted to celebrate Y/N coming home, so we went to Jamie’s.”
“Wanda, you know what I think of that place.” He rubbed his temples as her heart beat out of her chest, her nerves slowly taking over her shakey form. “Besides, it’s only Y/N. It isn’t like they matter much.”
“They are my best friend.” She told him firmly.
“Stop living in your childhood.” He told her sternly as he gripped her arms. “You are 22 years old! You aren’t the same teen you were four years ago!” All Wanda could do was nod, sighing as he let go of her arms. “Start dinner. I am famished.” He told her before retreating to their shared room. Releasing a shaky breath before she headed towards the kitchen, she knew that Y/N disliked him for a reason, especially with how he has been with her the past few months. Although, that is something she will never tell anyone, too afraid of what could happen.
Y/N had noticed the past week that Wanda had been distant from them and their friends. So as they were making breakfast, they knew they would visit her.
“Thanks.” Tony mumbled as he grabbed a cup of coffee, barely sparing Y/N a second glance.
“I’m going to see Wanda this morning.” They stated as they finished their coffee.
“What?” Tony questioned.
“She is my best friend.” They reminded him.
“She is Jarvis’s fiancèe.” He pointed out as Y/N nodded.
“I know that, she told me.” They told him firmly.
“I don’t want you to ruin this for your brother.” He told them as he stood up, trying to tower over them. “She is a good woman and I am sure the two would be amazing parents.”
“I’m pretty sure that Wanda isn’t thinking of children just yet.” They reminded him as they grabbed their keys. “They are still young and they aren’t even married yet.” With that Y/N left the house, leaving an irritated Pepper to scold him.
“Please just stop.” Wanda whimpered as Jarvis continued to slap her across the face.
“Seriously Wanda!! Y/N won’t ever give you the life that I will.” He yelled before she kicked him off of her.
“Please just go.” She sobbed as she scrambled to her feet. Trying to grab anything that would help her overpower him.
“Do you seriously think I wouldn’t know what you are hiding from me, from everyone, from yourself?!” He yelled as he started to advance on her again. “I know about your feelings!! I know it very well!!” He raised his hand ready to strike, only to freeze at the sound of a gunshot. The sound made Y/N run towards their apartment, breaking in to find Wanda frozen in place as Jarvis was squirming in pain. They approached her and took the gun from her grasp.
“Run.” They told her firmly. “Leave right now!” They yelled as she soon snapped into reality.
“Oh my god.” She whispered as she looked at Jarvis.
“Leave! NOW WANDA!!!” Y/N yelled at her, just as the sirens were getting closer. Wanda left the apartment, running straight for her friends apartment, knocking on it rapidly.
“Wanda?” Yelena questioned tiredly as she opened the door.
“Is Nat here?” She asked as Yelena let her inside.
“Yeah, she’s just in the shower.” She answered, grabbing Wanda a blanket to cover herself up and a bottle of water.
“Wanda, what happened?” Nat asked as soon as she spotted the brunette sitting on the sofa.
“I shot him.” She whispered as Nat sighed. “I shot Jarvis and Y/N told me to run.”
“What?” Yelena questioned as Nat shook her head with a dry chuckle.
“How could they be so stupid!” She yelled, causing Wanda to flinch. “This will ruin their future, their chance at playing pro.”
“I don’t understand.” Wanda muttered as Nat grabbed her bag and keys.
“Wanda, stay here with Yelena. Do not leave this apartment until I say otherwise.” With that Nat left the two of them.
“Do you think Y/N took the fall?” Wanda questioned as Yelena only nodded.
“They would do anything for you Wanda.” Was all she told the brunette before putting the chain on the door.
“HOW COULD YOU?!” Tony yelled as he sat opposite Y/N who was sitting in handcuffs. “Your own brother!”
“He hasn’t been a brother to me at all!!” Y/N told him, just as angry. “Just as you haven’t been a father to me either!!”
“You’re lucky that I am going to let you rot in here for as long as I can.” He growled as he got in their face. “He is my son!!”
“Yeah, he seems to be your only child, the only one you care about anyway.” They remarked as he was about to hit them.
“Mr Stark, I suggest you leave now or I will be putting you in some fancy bracelets too.” Nat told him firmly as she entered the room, escorting him out before she shut the door behind her. “I need you to tell me why you did it.” She said as she grabbed her pen.
“I already told Captain what's her name, everything” They told her.
“Oh, you broke in to find him hitting his fiancee so you shot him? Not like you could just take him down with sheer force anyway.” She spoke sarcastically. “I want the real story.”
“That is the real story.” They told her.
“Y/N, I am trying to protect you and your future, if you aren’t honest with me, I can’t protect you.” She tried as they just shook their head.
“That is the truth, Detective.” They told her.
“Ok.” She nodded as she rose to her feet. “Captain Carter will come and read you your rights.” With that she left the room, finding out more on Jarvis’s condition before heading home.
“Are they ok?” Wanda asked as soon as Nat walked through the door.
“They are fine.” She told her honestly. “They are keeping to their story, so there isn’t much more that I can do to help.”
“So?” Yelena questioned as Nat took a seat.
“Well, Jarvis is currently in a coma. The bullet had pierced a lung, so he has had to have extensive surgery to repair the damage, but the chances of him waking before the sentencing is rather slim.” She rubbed her brow. “Especially since Mr Stark would want it over as fast as possible.”
“What if I confess? Tell the truth?” Wanda tried as Nat shook her head.
“That won’t work. Not now anyway.” She told her. “The media has already started to leach on the story of sibling rivalry. The press will be sniffing around the hospital, trying to get an update from the doctors or the family. Y/N is already moving to NJ Pen tomorrow morning.”
“So there’s nothing.” Yelena stated as Nat sighed.
“Nothing.” She told them. “They already have a weapon and a confession. Unless Jarvis says otherwise, then everyone will know Y/N to be the one who tried to kill their own brother.”
Wanda was beside herself, with Jarvis remaining in a coma and Y/N being in prison for a crime they didn’t commit. She hated herself, wondering every night how her life had turned into this.
“Are you ok?” Nat asked her as she entered the kitchen.
“Yeah.” Wanda nodded as she stared at the glass of water in her hand.
“Talk to me.” Nat spoke tenderly as Wanda scoffed.
“About what? How my fiancè abused me. He would hit me and call me names or that I shot him in fear of losing my own life and my best friend is taking the fall.” She spoke angrily. “I just wish I knew why they took the blame for something I did.”
“They love you.” Nat told her sincerely. “They have since high school. I can’t exactly tell you the moment they fell in love with you but we could see it whenever they looked at you. They would do anything for you Wanda and it shows.”
“But.” Wanda tried as her eyes filled with tears. “I never knew.” She whispered shakily as Nat gave her a tender smile.
“They never wanted you to know, because they thought you would feel the same.” She told her honestly.
“The draft was last night.” Wanda mentioned. “They never got picked.”
“Well, the managers would have gotten wind of the shooting and the trial.” Nat spoke honestly. “So that would have definitely made sure they never made it.”
“I hate this.” Wanda whispered as she rubbed her brow. “I hate how this whole thing has turned out.”
“You have a visitor.” The guard told Y/N as they kicked them awake.
“What?” They grumbled as they stirred.
“Visitor!” The guard yelled as they grabbed them, dragging them through the corridor towards the visiting quarters.
“Mom?” Y/N murmured as they saw Pepper sitting at the otherside of the glass, watching as Y/N picked up the phone.
“Why did you do it?” She questioned as Y/N sighed.
“I already told the police everything, I’m sure that Tony had already gotten a copy of my statement.” Y/N told her coldly.
“You know what I mean.” She told them firmly. “I know you didn’t do it, I just want to know why you are lying to everyone and putting your future at risk.”
“I can’t discuss this with you mom.” They told her sternly.
“Just tell me!” She yelled, gaining the attention of the others. “Jarvis could wake and tell the truth.”
“I doubt he would if he finds out that I will be serving time here.” They told her. “He hated me, he hated me because my dreams strayed away from what the Stark name was famous for.”
“You know that’s not true.” Pepper told them.
“You know what you just said is a lie.” Y/N told her. “Neither Dad or Jarvis attended any of my games to support me. They were too busy with something to do with the company. The only people who thought and believed I would make it pro weren’t even blood related.”
“Y/N.” Pepper tried as Y/N shook their head.
“Just leave it mom. Don’t come back here to visit, it will only hurt you more.” They told her firmly. “Besides, Morgan will need you now, more than ever.” She watched as Y/N was dragged back through the doors towards their cell, her heart breaking at the sight of the aggressiveness the guards were showing towards them.
Jarvis remained in the coma, even after Y/N was sentenced for 20 years imprisonment. Wanda had already returned the ring to Pepper, telling her that she was ending things with Jarvis, of course Pepper had no objections, knowing the kind of man her son grew up to be.
“Wanda, you need to eat.” Nat told her as she handed her a PB&J.
“I’m not hungry.” Wanda whispered as she placed the plate on the table.
“Look, I know this is hard right now.” Nat tried as Wanda chuckled lightly.
“You have no idea!” Wanda spat. “Y/N is serving almost a life sentence because of a crime they didn’t commit!! They are doing that for me!!.”
“Because they love you!” Nat shouted. “Look, I understand that this is so freaking hard right now, but they need us all more than ever right now. So if you want more answers, go and visit them!”
With that, Wanda knew exactly what she needed to do. Deciding to make an appointment to visit them, needing to hear the truth from them herself.
When the day came around, she gasped as she saw the cuts and bruises on their face. Picking up the phone as she reached for their face, only to be disappointed by the cold glass.
“What happened to you?” She questioned firstly making Y/N chuckle.
“It looks worse than it is.” They told her, a gentle smile on their face. “How are you? Nat told me about ending the engagement.”
“I am ok.” Wanda told them. “I am just worried about you and rightfully so.”
“I’m fine, I promise.” They told her as she shook her head. “I know being here is a little rough, but it is better me being here than you.”
“Y/N, why did you do it? Take the fall for me?” She asked them.
“If you had to ask me that, then you don’t really know me at all.” They told her.
“I do know, believe me, I do, but I want to hear it from you.” She told them. “I deserve that at least.”
“Wanda.” They tried before she cut them off.
“Just tell me! Please!” She pleaded with them, earning a sigh in response.
“I did it for love.” They told her. “Because I love you and I have always loved you forever.” She watched as they looked down. “I know you won’t ever feel the same and I made peace with that years ago. So please just leave here and don’t come back. Move on with your life ok.”
“No.” She shook her head as Y/N nodded.
“You deserve to live your life Wanda.” They told her. “Please just live it and forget about me.”
“No.” She tried once more, the tears falling as she shook her head.
“Yes Wanda.” They told her. “Goodbye my love.” She watched as they walked away, not even sparing her a second glance as they left.
“What?” Nat questioned as she picked up a devastated Wanda, listening to her as she tried to explain everything. The next thing Nat decided to do was get onto their lawyer. Wanda listened as best as she could before Nat finished the call. “They’ve requested for their own visitation rights to be terminated.” She informed Wanda.
“What?!” She yelled as Nat nodded, rubbing her forehead. “They can’t do that.”
“They can Wanda.” Nat told her. “And they have done that, we just have to respect their wishes.”
“But I love them Nat.” Wanda told her. “I do and I can’t go 20 years without seeing them or hearing their voice.”
“We will have to Wanda.” Nat told her. “It’s just 20 years right.” She tried as Wanda sighed. “Look, we can’t do anything Wanda, maybe write to them. Maybe they will read your letters but just respect their decision, that is all I am asking of you.”
The first year was extremely hard on her, she struggled to write to them, struggling to find the words to say until she just started to pour out the words that came from her heart.
Dear Y/N,
I know it’s already been a year without seeing you, and believe me, it has been the hardest year of my life and I know I have 19 more to go. I know that sounds incredibly selfish but I get to be selfish right now because the one person who I have always had in my corner regardless doesn’t want to see me, and that hurts me so fucking much.
I just need you to know that I miss you every damn day.
Love Wanda
Dear Y/N
I still haven’t received any confirmation that you have received my other letters, because I haven’t really received anything from you. I got myself a new apartment, in that building we both always admired when we were younger. I know it’s a bit pricey but I have plenty in my savings, and life is short so I may have splurged. I was also promoted at work, you are now looking at the new Head of Trauma at NY Pres. You always said I would make it and I did.
I just hope you’re ok and I want to know that you are safe at least.
Love Wanda
Dear Y/N
It’s been five years now. I have sent letters every week for five years. I have even tried to move on and I can’t. Well, I never really told you the truth, I love you. I am in love with you. I should have told you before but I was scared of losing you. I know that seems funny now because I have lost you. Well, it feels like I’ve lost you because you won’t talk to me.
I have lost the biggest supporter and the love of my life and that hurts. I lost you because of a mistake that I had made and you won’t talk to me, but I guess you have your own reasons for the distance between us.
Love Wanda
Y/N placed the recent letter in the pillowcase with all of the others she had sent, sitting on their bed as they waited for the food call.
“Who is this Wanda chick?” Brock questioned as he jumped down beside his cellmate.
“She was a friend.” They answered shortly.
“You have been here for five years and you still haven’t told us much about you, other than you’re a Stark.” He smirked as they shrugged.
“There’s not much to tell.” They murmured as Brock chuckled manically.
“That doesn’t sit well with me.” He sneered as Y/N shrugged. “You have another fifteen years left here, you have no visitors which tells me that no one really cares whether you live or die.” As soon as the cell opened he pushed past them. “Watch your back, Stark.” Little did he know that that was the last time he would speak to Y/N, the last time he would see them as he lay cold on the floor with a shiv in his neck as a riot took over the cell block.
AN:: There will be a part 2 guys. Thank you all for the likes and the reblogs, it means a lot to me.

Mommy’s Got You Now🤍
Summary: Y/n has a fall while staying at the Starks cabin. Natasha rushes back from her mission to take care of her little girl.
Word Count: 770
Pairings: little/kid reader x Natasha Romanoff , little/kid reader x Morgan Stark, little/kid reader x Pepper Potts, Tony x Pepper (mentions of Clint and Kate)
Hurt/Angst/Comfort/Fluff
Warnings: mention of injury(broken arm and nose bleed) brief hospital mention(no details of medical procedure or instruments)
————
“Morgan! Morgan! Look how high I can jump!” Little y/n called to her bestest friend. The two 5 year olds were competing to see who could jump the highest on the bed, Tony and Peppers bed…
…Y/n had been staying with the Stark family for 3 days while her mother, Natasha Romanoff, was on an intel mission along with her uncle clint and auntie Kate…
“No y/n, look I can jump higher than you!” Morgan said. The girls laughter filled the woodland cabin, all the way down to Pepper’s office. There she sat, listening to the joy echoing through the walls.
“I’m gonna touch the ceiling Morgan! Watch me watch me!”
Y/n used all her strength and bounced up to touch the lampshade, and she reached it - but as y/n began to come back down, she caught her foot on the bedpost and starting diving head first towards the wooden floor. “Y/N!” Morgan cried as she tried to reach for her friend.
The cries and screams (and the rather loud thud) had Pepper bolting straight out of her office and up the stairs, there she met little redhead y/n bundled up on the floor.
“Oh y/n! Come here sweetheart, it’s ok.” Pepper cooed as she cradled y/n in her arms, her little throat screaming out in pain. “MOMMY! I WANT MAMMA!” Y/n cried. “I know sweetheart, I know” was all Pepper could offer as she reached for a tissue to wipe the blood running from y/n’s nose, it seemed she’d managed to land on the left side of her body and right side of her face.
“I’m sorry mom! We were just playing and she fell” Morgan began to also cry hysterically. “Oh honey it’s ok, it wasn’t your fault, do you think you could be a big girl and go find daddy for me?”
Mr. Stark came running up the stairs, following his crying daughter. “Y/n fell” Pepper said “I think we need to take her to the hospital…her arm Tony” Pepper said, whispering the last few words. Tony looked towards y/n’s left arm, bent the wrong way and purple with bruises. “I’ll get the car”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As soon as Clint pulled into the car park, Natasha was out the door and running to find her daughter. 3 hours ago Pepper had called and said y/n had fallen over, she hadn’t had an update as to how bad it was yet.
“Excuse me!” Natasha called to the receptionist “My daughter was brought in a few hours ago, Y/n, y/n Romanoff” the blue haired lady began aggressively typing as Natasha noticed a little brunette running towards her “Aunty Nat!” Morgan.
“Hey little bean” Natasha said as she picked up young Morgan. Tony soon followed behind her “Hey Nat, she’s ok, she’s with Pepper, come on I’ll take you”
“Ugh, wait a minute you can’t all go!” The receptionist called….too late.
Y/n laid wrapped up in blankets holding her new hospital bear, Sally. Tears gently slid down her cheeks as she looked over her pink cast. The pain was wearing off little by little but poor y/n was still very shaken up. Her nose yet to be cleaned of the dried up blood.
The curtain was pulled back and y/n shot up. “MOMMY!” She cried as Natasha ran to scoop up her toddler. “Oh baby it’s ok mommy’s here, I’m here now.” She whispered into y/n’s ear as she gave a small wave to Pepper. “Natasha, I’m so sorry” Pepper began. “It’s alright, these things happen, I’m just glad you were there” Natasha almost cried.
Y/n pulled back and looked up into her mommy’s beautiful green eyes. “It-it hurts mamma. Wanna go ho- go home” her little sobs broke Natasha’s heart, she wishes more than anything she could have been there to protect her little angel. “I know princess, you’re so so brave! Mamma’s here, we’ll get you home soon, get you curled up in bed with all the snacks.”
Natasha’s words did not disappoint, 2 hours later little y/n was laying in her mommy’s arms in her mommy’s bed. Toy Story 2 quietly played in the background as Nat stoked her fingers through y/n’s curly locks. “Itchy momma” y/n whined. “Oh darling I know, it’ll go away soon I promise” Natasha said.
Before long the events of the day forced
y/n’s tired eyes shut, empty bottle of milk still between her lips. Natasha swapped it out for her daughters favourite paci and pulled the duvet over them both. She kissed y/n on the head and got a little hum in response.
“Sleep well my angel, mommy’s got you now”
Family Flight
Dad!Tony Stark x Stark!Reader x Pepper Pots x Morgan Stark x Peter Parker
Basically the Stark family
Warnings: Flying. There is talk of jumping off a building but as in flying
___________________________________________________________
"Tony this is not a good idea!" Pepper groans at Tony as he was setting up one of his suits for Morgan to fit in to fly in. "Oh come on Pepper you won't let me hold her and fly. This is the best bet! She won't have controls over the suit. FRIDAY will fly it. She will just sit in it and get to see out.". Tony say very proud of himself. Morgan as been begging forever to go on a family flight with them. But she was too small to control a suit. So Tony made an old suit able to hold her in the right spot and fly for her. While she had zero control but still feel like she did. Pepper sighed throwing her arms giving up. Knowing no matter what Tony was going to do it. Better she knows and is there with them then for them to go behind her back.
After finishing it up Tony called Morgan in very excited. Morgan came running in eyes widen as she sees the suite. Tony helps her in and letting it close her in as he checks to make sure She was all good. Pepper Shook her head still not fully liking this as she stepped closer in the Rescue Suit. If this was happening she was coming. "What is happening here?" Y/n asked walking in as they see Pepper suited up and one of Tony's suits walking towards the take off area. "Hi y/n!" Morgan's voice comes from the old suit. Y/n looked shocked and laughed turning to Pepper. "And your okay with this?". Pepper put the helmet down as she turned to their eldest child. "No! But I'd rather be there then let your father go with her.". Y/n laughed again as they walked over to their dad as he's checking Morgan's suite one more time. "Are you sure about this old man?" Tony nodded as he stepped back. "Yeah , she doesn't have any controls. FRIDAY will be flying it following my order-". "Following whos orders?" Pepper interrupted. Making Tony make a face before turning to her. "Your orders my dear.". Y/n stands to the side trying to hold back their laugh even as their father playfully slapped their shoulder to shut up.
"Are you coming with us Y/n?". "Sure". Y/n said shrugging a family fly might be fun. Tony turned smirking at Y/n. Who gave him the same look back as they had the same thought. "Absolutely Not!" Pepper piped in seeing the look they both shared as they both get closer to the edge of the building. Tony and Y/n look back at her trying to look innocent. "What? we aren't doing anything" Tony says shrugging trying to hide his smirk as his eldest child stood neck to him doing the same. Pepper gave them a warning look. Y/n lightly hit Tony's shoulder. "Oh no I slipped!" Y/n said fakery before falling back wards. Along with Tony following after. "Anthony Edward Stark! Y/Full name Stark!' Pepper yelled at them as both their suits went zooming past her and Morgan. Flying down to the two falling before catching them as they both push back up zooming back upwards. Laughing as they float above the building of the launch area. "Your both in trouble!" Pepper says as her helmet secures around her face. "That was so cool!" Morgan said threw the commands as her suit started to fly up along with Pepper. Tony laughed as he looked at Morgan. "Don't ever do that. Or Your mom will actually kill me and your sibling". Morgan just giggled back at this as Pepper shakes her head.
"Come on lets go!" Y/n says as they all zoom off. Not going so fast. Keeping a good speed as they zoom through the city. "hey Morgan , Look down" Y/n says as they lead them all to fly closer down. As Morgan looks down. Seeing Peter Swinging around in his spider man suit. Next to them. As he swings up waving at Morgan. Morgan laughs as the suit lets her wave back to Peter.
After some time they all come back to the Avengers campus. Tony and Pepper land smiling as they watch Morgan and Y/n fly around a bit more. Y/n took controls as they flew Morgan above the Lake. Smiling at each small laugh and giggle they heard from Morgan. Before finally taking them both back to land by their parents. Watching as the suit did a softer land of the iron man landing.
The suite open and Morgan jumped out jumping up and down as she laughed hugging her parents. Although Pepper was so scared, She was happy to see Morgan so happy. Morgan beamed as she saw Peter coming over she ran over to him to ask him about seeing her flying. While Tony Pepper and Y/n watched her with smile. "She's going to make a great Iron add on one day". Y/n says. Both Tony and Pepper nodded. Knowing one day all three of their children's will be amazing hero's.
"Hey Stark! You up for a race?" a voice calls above them. They looked up seeing Sam flying above. Y/n laughed knowing he's talking to them. As they tend to train together in the sky. Y/n looked back at their family as they all smirk back at them nodding. "Kick his butt Y/n!" Morgan says. Y/n laughed nodding. "Just for you Morgan" They say before their helmet covers their face again as they blast off. Heading up to meet Sam as they take off for the race.
A Christmas Carol
A/N: This fic is based on the plot of A Christmas Carol and takes place yesterday and today in the MCU canon! Flashbacks are in italics. I really enjoyed writing this and I hope you enjoy it as well. Merry Christmas!
Every night was a futile tussle of conflicting thoughts. If you sleep, you can forget. If you forget, you feel the pain of losing them all over again in the morning. It was a tragic loop of grief that you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy.
The Battle for Earth had sent you into a spiral of despair and darkness. How could it not? You lost your father, the woman who had become a second mother to you, and one of your best friends. It had only been two months, but those closest to you were doing their best to try and keep you afloat.
As autumn turned into winter, you receded even more into yourself. The holiday season only served as a reminder of all that you had lost. Before you knew it, Christmas Eve was upon you and a knock on your door broke you out of your grief-stricken thoughts.
“Y/N?”
You grunted in response, as Pepper slowly opened the door. A stream of morning light breaks through your dark room.
“I’m taking Morgan ice skating, I know she would love it if you came with us.”
“No, thanks.”
Pepper sighed as she took a seat next to you on the edge of your bed.
“Oh sweetheart,” her voice cracking. “Your dad wouldn’t want to see you like this.”
“That’s just it,” staring at the same spot on the wall across from your bed that you had been looking at for the better part of two months. “He’s not here to see it. Dad is gone, and he’s never coming back.”
“No, he’s not, and nothing I can say is going to bring him back. I know nothing will ever fill that hole in our hearts, but life doesn’t end for us,” emotion creeping up on her. “All we can do is keep his memory alive. Live life with the same curiosity and love that he did.
You remembered the day you walked into Stark Tower for the first time. You were six, and your mother had passed away unexpectedly. She rarely ever spoke of your father, only to say that he was very smart. You were frightened, to say the least when your mother’s attorney picked you up from Child Protective Services. It had always just been you and your mom.
What felt like an endless car ride ended with you standing in front of the most intimidating building you had ever seen in your little life. You walked into a large office with full-length windows at the opposite end that overlooked New York City. A blonde woman in a skirt and matching suit sat behind the desk, while a dark-haired man with a goatee in a t-shirt and jeans stood beside her looking very nervous.
The CPO officer greeted the two, and then there was some brief legal jargon your six-year-old mind didn’t understand.
The officer leaned down to your level, “Y/N, this is Tony. Your dad.”
Tony just stared at you wide-eyed until Pepper smacked him on the arm.
“Hi kid,” snapping out of his trance and smiling at you.
“Hi,” you said shyly.
Your dad never stopped calling you kid, even when you grew up and started fighting alongside him as an Avenger. Tony was so proud of you after your first mission. He celebrated for 24 hours straight, recounting every move you made to anyone who would listen.
But now there were no more celebrations. No more, “hey kid”, and no more late-night talks with your dad in his lab eating pizza. It all ended the moment your father snapped his fingers. Saving your life, but sacrificing his own. He was your hero, and you would miss him forever.
You threw yourself into Pepper’s arms.
“Are you sure you don’t want to come ice skating? Get out for a little bit,” rubbing her hand up and down on your back.
“No, you two go have fun,” you sighed.
“Okay, we’ll be back in a bit, please try and eat something,” rising from the bed and walking towards the door. She looked back at you one last time.
You pulled the covers back over your head and prayed for unconsciousness.
*^~^*
Your phone rang an hour later. You reached your hand out from under your blanket feeling around for the rectangle. You pulled it back into your cocoon and your eyes adjusted to the light emanating from your phone. It was Yelena. You slid your finger across the screen.
“Hello?”
“Why are you not ice skating with Pepper and the little Stark?”
“Because Christmas activities are for happy people, and I don’t even know what happy is anymore,” you admitted candidly.
“I see.”
You heard shuffling on the other end of the line before a knock on your door broke through your blanket barrier. You ignored it.
“What are you doing?”
“Well, I’m trying to get a friend to have a drink with me, but she won’t answer the damn door.”
“FRIDAY, open the door,” you grumbled as you lifted the blanket off of your head.
Yelena stood in the doorway holding a bottle of Vodka.
“I’m not in the mood, Lena.”
“I don’t care, my sister is gone and we’re having a drink,” throwing the blankets off of you.
You shivered as the air hit your body. Yelena sat down on the floor with her back up against your bed. You slid out of bed and onto the floor. The blonde took in the dark circles under your eyes and the thinness of your face. She knew you barely slept or ate these days. Her room was across from yours. Truthfully, she hadn’t been sleeping or eating well either, but she was better at hiding it. Yelena poured you both a shot of vodka. You took the shot in one fluid motion. It burned all the way down.
You could almost hear Natasha’s raspy voice.
“What happened dorogoy?” Running toward you as you stumbled off the Quinjet.
You had just come home from a solo mission. A week alone in the field, limited contact. Natasha spotted the blood on your suit but relaxed when she realized it wasn’t yours.
“I couldn’t save them all, Nat,” tears welling up in your eyes. “I wasn’t fast enough.”
You started to sway as you grew weak with exhaustion. Natasha embraced you and didn’t let go. Public displays of affection were not her thing, but when it came to you normal rules never applied. She led you inside and straight to her room. She cleaned you up and poured you a shot of vodka. You weren’t much for hard liquor, but you needed it today.
“One fluid motion,” handing it to you.
You drank the shot and slammed the glass down on the floor. It burned all the way down.
From the moment you came to live with Tony, the Black Widow had a soft spot for you. You reminded her of herself a bit. A young girl who was thrown into a new and frightening reality after the only life you had ever known was tragically torn from you.
Truthfully, there wasn’t anything Natasha wouldn’t do for you. Of course, no one could replace your mom, but Nat had become like a second mother to you. helping you with your homework, staying up late when you came home from your first date, teaching you to defend yourself when you told her you wanted to join the team.
When it was decided that the Time Heist was your only chance of beating Thanos, your father forbade you from going.
“No, Y/N! No way. I’m already going out of my mind at the thought of losing Pepper and your sister. I won’t lose you too,” Tony argued.
“I should be there, Dad! I’m a part of this team too. You need me,” you yelled.
“No,” he said firmly. “I need you to survive,” looking you in the eyes before turning and leaving your room.
You turned away in anger before picking up a pillow and throwing it toward the doorway. Natasha caught it without a flinch.
“I know how you feel, Y/N.”
“No, you don’t, you’re going to Vormir!”
“You feel like you’re being sidelined because your dad thinks he can do this without you, but that’s just it, honey,” walking toward you, “He can’t do THIS without you,” holding her arms open wide. “This life. He would never forgive himself if something happened to you… and neither would I,” tears in the redhead’s eyes.
You embraced Natasha as your tears started to fall. “I love you, Nat.” You didn’t want to let her go, but you knew it was time.
“I love you, dorogoy. See you in a minute.”
Yelena’s shot glass hitting the floor snapped you out of your flashback.
“How long are you going to stay in this room?”
“It doesn’t matter,” your eyes trained downward.
“She wouldn’t want that for you,” tilting her head to try and meet your gaze, receiving only silence in return.
“How are you doing it? How are you living?” barely above a whisper. “You had so little time with her,” finally looking up at Yelena.
She sighed deeply. “One day at a time.”
“I feel like I’ve lost another mom,” you cried.
“I know,” Yelena hugged you as her tears began to fall too.
“You want to go for a walk with me? We can throw snowballs at the LARPers,” trying to regain her composure.
“No thanks, Yelena.”
“I understand,” the blonde nodded, as she grabbed the bottle of vodka and walked toward your door. “My sister loved you, Y/N. Don’t let the way she died change the way you live.”
*^~^*
After Yelena left, you climbed back in bed. Content to spend the rest of Christmas Eve in the darkness of your grief. You dozed off again and when you awoke this time it was to the faint sound of Christmas music playing down the hall. You couldn’t understand how anyone could celebrate Christmas this year. Not without all of them.
A soft knock on the door preceded a voice you knew and loved.
“Y/N, it’s Wanda. Can I come in?”
You made something of a squeaking noise which Wanda took as a yes. The door opened slowly and the redhead poked her head inside. Her eyes wandered the room before spotting the lump in the middle of your bed. Clothes scattered across the floor and your uneaten food on the side table. She couldn’t stand to see you in this squalor. A simple wave of her hand vanished the clutter from your room.
“Your thoughts are so loud, sweetheart.”
“Sorry.”
“Don’t be sorry. Truthfully everyone’s thoughts are pretty loud tonight.”
“Everyone?”
“We’re having a little Christmas Eve gathering in the common area. No one’s in the mood, but Pepper and I agreed it was important for the kids to have some semblance of a normal Christmas. As best as we could give them, anyway… Please come watch the kids open a Christmas Eve gift. Billy and Tommy have been asking for you,” Wanda implored.
“I can’t go out there, Wanda. I can’t look at the kids without crying,” your words muffled by the pillow.
“Welcome to my world,” Wanda muttered.
You lowered the blankets and were met with Wanda’s green eyes. Emeralds that cut through you with ease. The same bags that graced your under eyes had found a home under hers as well.
“What is grief, if not love persevering?" Wanda said softly.
“Get that from a Hallmark card did you?” Rolling your eyes.
“No,” her eyes dropped to her lap. “Vis said that to me.”
“Oh, Wanda. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to-“
“It’s okay,” caressing your cheek. “I know you’re hurting too.”
“He was my best friend.”
You sat quietly in the compound library as the sun warmed your face. You came up here now and again for some much-needed alone time. Your eyes chasing the words across the pages of Little Women, your favorite book.
The door opened, interrupting Jo’s conversation with Laurie.
“Oh, excuse me, Ms. Stark. I didn’t realize anyone was in here.”
“No, Vis. That’s okay, come on in.”
“Why, thank you. You’re too kind,” shutting the door behind him.
“What brings you to the only quiet corner of the compound?”
“I’ve come to read my daily book,” Vis stated matter-of-factly.
“You read a book every day?” Surprised by the admission.
“Yes, it only takes me a few moments, but I’ve made it a goal to read every book in this library.”
“The Mind Stone is in your forehead, aren’t you already omnipotent?” you giggled.
Yes, but I’ve found humans equal parts fascinating and odd. They think order and chaos are somehow opposites and try to control what won't be. But there is grace in their failings and elegance in their knowledge. Better still, they have taken to writing it all down,” holding up a book in excitement. “What better way to understand them than to read the words they have left behind.”
“You have a beautiful soul, Vision.”
He smirked. “I’m a synthezoid, Ms. Stark. I was not blessed with a soul.”
“Not to my eyes.”
“I remember that day,” Wanda smiled, wiping a tear from her eye as she left your thoughts. “Vis floated through my wall rambling on about how you were going to introduce him to your favorite writers, and trade books.”
You nodded silently, afraid if you said anything else that you would break down.
“I can’t imagine how you feel Wanda. You’ve lost so much already,” unable to look at the witch.
“I should know enough about loss to realize that you never really stop missing someone – you just learn to live around the huge gaping hole of their absence,” staring at the same spot in the wall that you were.
“I’ll tell the boys you aren’t feeling well,” snapping out of it.
The guilt wracking your mind as Wanda walked away.
“I love you, Y/N. Vision did too,” gently closing her door behind you.
*^~^*
It wasn’t long before the distant melody of Christmas music faded away and silence greeted you once more. You prayed for a restful sleep. One that would carry you through the next twenty-four hours so that you could forget Christmas and all that you were grieving.
Darkness fell upon your mind slowly but surely. As your clock struck 1 am, a breeze broke through the crack in your window. Small and cold, yet strong enough to bring your curtains to life. Golden light followed, illuminating your bed in a strong glow. Your eyes opened just as the light hit your cheeks. You stirred slightly as a voice emanated from the light.
“Kid… Come on, Y/N. Time to wake up.”
You sat up in a blaze of confusion and fear. The glow softened, revealing the familiar figure standing before you.
“Dad?” Your eyes were wide.
No, Santa Claus,” he scoffed. “Who else would it be?” Smiling at you like he had never left.
“This—this can’t be happening. I’m still asleep. You’re not here,” frantically trying to wake yourself up from this nightmare.
Come on, kid. After everything you’ve seen in your life, you’re going to tell me that ghosts are where your suspension of disbelief rests. I don’t buy it for a second.”
“Why are you here?” Gripping your blanket tightly.
“I’ve been watching you, Y/N. I have to admit I’m worried,” arms crossed over his chest. “My daughter doesn’t just give up when the world gets cold, that’s not how I raised you.”
“I’m not who I used to be… not without you,” bringing your knees up to your chin.
He held out his hand in front of you. “Come with me, Y/N.”
“No, Dad. I can’t,” choking up at the sight of your father reaching out for you.
“Rise, and walk with me.”
You hesitantly stood and took his hand. A surge of adrenaline coursed through your body at the feeling of his hand in yours again.
“Close your eyes, kid.”
You felt his hand resting over your heart as a warmth surrounded you.
When you opened your eyes, your bedroom was gone. You were standing on a snowbank. The fragile snowflakes were swirling around you and crunching under your feet.
“I know this place, you used to bring me here to go snowboarding when I was little,” taking in the winter scenery.
Hmm, until your broken wrist convinced Pepper that snowboarding wasn’t an appropriate activity for my little girl.”
“Hey, you were a great teacher. I felt like I could do anything,” looking around at the snow that blanketed every inch of your surroundings. “That’s how it always felt with you.”
A moment later, a child giggling broke through the muffleness of the snow.
“Come on, daddy! Faster!” You turned to see a much younger Tony Stark sliding down the small hillside on his snowboard with you in his arms.
He slowly came to a stop at the bottom of the slope and placed you down in front of him.
“Oh my God,” you whispered under your breath.
“This was our first Christmas vacation together. Right after you came to live with me, you remember? It was when you got your first—“
“My very own snowboard!!” Your younger self squealed as Tony pulled it out of a bag at the bottom of the hill. It was purple with pink polka dots. “Thank you, Daddy!”
You giggled at your innocent excitement. You watched as your dad helped you with your helmet and strapped your little feet onto the binding. “Now the key to snowboarding is bending your knees and keeping your shoulders square.”
“Woah!” Slipping slightly as you tried to gain your balance.
Tony then walked across the snow, leaving about a twenty-foot gap between father and daughter. “Okay, kid. Now bend your knees and turn your shoulders towards me.”
You looked up at your father. It may have only been twenty feet but to your six-year-old eyes, it looked like two hundred feet.
“I can’t do it,” you shouted. “It’s too far!”
“Yes, you can. Your dad is here to catch you.” Opening his arms out wide. “Every chance you take in life isn't going to be easy. But it will be worth it, I promise. You’re a Stark, Y/N, and we never give up when things get tough,” smiling at you with love in his eyes.
You hesitate slightly before bending your knees and turning your little shoulders towards Tony. Before you knew it, you were sliding down the little slope and into your dad’s loving arms.
“I did it, daddy! I did it!” You giggled with joy.
You sure did, Y/N,” lifting you over his head. “Her very first time on a snowboard ladies and gentlemen, we have a true natural here!” Your father exclaimed. Earning strange looks from the people around you.
You were overwhelmed by the cherished memory unfold before your eyes. Your father put a hand on your shoulder.
“You’re a Stark, Y/N. You don’t give up when things get tough. Pepper and Morgan need you, kid. They need you to remember who you are.”
You threw your hands around your father and sobbed. Even if this was only a dream, you thanked God for the opportunity to hug your dad again.
“I’ll always be with you, kid.”
You woke up with a shiver in your bed. Your eyes searched the room for Tony, but the room was empty. Of course, your dad wasn’t here. You rolled back over onto your side regaining your bearings.
*^~^*
As you finally began to doze off once more, you could just barely make out the blurry outline of your clock. 2 am. The light illuminating the crack below your door knocked the sleep from your eyes and the cobwebs from your brain. The door creaked opened slowly as yet another glow greeted you. This one was not as harsh, but softer and warmer. As the light gently dimmed, you recognized the silhouette immediately. Natasha.
“Nat?” Your voice cracked as your throat started to close.
“It’s okay, Y/N. I’m here,” the redhead reassured you.
“No, no you’re still on Vormir,” squeezing your eyes shut tight hoping that when you opened them again she would be gone.
“My body, yes. My soul, no,” sitting down beside you on the bed.
“I miss you so much, Nat, I don’t know how to do life without you,” words broken apart by tears as you hid your face in your hands.
“I miss you too, malyshka. Please look at me.”
You wiped your eyes and looked up at the ghost staring back at you.
“You’re more capable than you know, Y/N. From the moment that little girl walked into the tower, I knew you had something inside you that wasn’t so easily distinguished. Even if it feels dimmed now by all that you have lost, it will never truly go out. I hope it brings you some comfort to know that you’re not the only one who feels this way,” reaching for your hand.
As you felt her calloused hand wrap around yours, darkness overtook your senses, and the bed disappeared beneath you. When the darkness faded, you were no longer in your room, but in the hallway. Afternoon light still casts shadows on the walls.
“What are we doing out here?”
Natasha gestured toward your bedroom door just as it opened. Yelena emerged holding a bottle of Vodka, just as she had done a few hours prior. You watched as she closed your door behind her and walked back across the hall to her room. You followed Nat into her sister’s room. Yelena tossed the almost-empty bottle of Vodka on her bed before sitting down on the floor. Her lip trembled as tears began to slide down her cheeks. She reached inside her pocket and pulled out a strip of old photos from a Photo Booth. You recognized it immediately, both Yelena and Natasha had told you of their brief time together in Ohio. The mission that made them sisters.
“She seemed to be handling it so well,” you said to yourself.
“Oh, detka. You must know by now that Yelena buries everything until she self-destructs.”
I’ve been watching her. She has become more and more reckless on missions lately, Natasha explained. “It’s almost as if she doesn’t care whether she lives or dies…”
“That’s not true, that can’t be true is it?” You pleaded with Natasha.
“I fear if someone doesn’t notice the pain she is in soon, it may be too late.”
You called out for Yelena, but she couldn’t hear you.
“She needs you, Y/N. Don’t let what happened to me take your heart.”
“My heart left when Clint came back without you,” your eyes welling up again. “I should have been there, I should have stopped you!”
“I made a choice, detka. It wasn’t your responsibility,” wiping the tears that rolled down your face with the pad of her thumb.
“I love you, Natasha,” wrapping your arms around her.
“I love you too, Y/N. I’m always watching,” squeezing you tight.
All at once, the scene around you faded away. Your eyes shot open as you sat up in bed. She was gone.
*^~^*
You sat there in shock, unable to cope with what you had just seen. You had already lost so many, you couldn’t lose Yelena too. It was unbareable to ponder. All at once a soft whooshing sound suddenly hit your ear. You slowly backed up onto your bed until you bumped into the headboard. A hooded figure slowly floated through the wall and stopped in front of your bed.
“Who are you? What do you want?” Your voice trembling.
The hooded figure reached up and carefully removed its hood.
“Vision?” The name softly escapes your lips.
“Hello, Ms. Stark.”
“What is going on? Why is this happening to me?” Shouting in frustration.
We’re worried about you Y/N. You can’t continue down this path, you have so much more to do. So much more love to give.”
“I can’t do it, Vis. I’m so tired.” A mix of exhaustion and desperation poured out of you.
“Yes, you can, Y/N. Do you think we would have made the trip if we didn’t think you could?”
“I feel so lost,” your voice barely above a whisper.
“The ones you love are lost without you, Y/N. Every day that you spend in this room, the ties that bind this family together wither away. And once they are gone, they are gone forever.”
“What do you mean?”
“Come with me,” the synthezoid ordered.
You stood as Vision grabbed your hand. Your room melted away once more and you found yourself floating down onto an empty street.
“Where are we Vis?”
He pointed toward an entrance gate that you recognized instantly. You were on the street in front of the entrance to the compound. Snow falling softly all around you. As you walked towards the gate, a sign plastered across the metal came into view.
Avengers Compound closed indefinitely. Property sold by order of Pepper Stark, Stark Industries CEO.
“What is this Vision? Where is everyone?”
They’re gone, Ms. Stark. The Avengers are no more.“
“But, but…,” you stuttered. “I don’t understand?” Starting to panic.
A wave of his hand produced a newspaper that he somberly handed to you. The color drained from your face as you read the headline.
Avengers Are No More: The loss of the late Tony Stark’s eldest daughter proves to be the final straw for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
“What is this Vis?” You could barely get the words out.
Fury begged you to go back out into the field. Despite Mrs. Stark’s protests, you are your father’s daughter; stubborn to a fault. You insisted on going alone, but you weren’t ready. Your focus was tattered and your reflexes were dulled. They couldn’t cope with losing you, Y/N. They blamed one another for what happened. It tore them apart.”
You reached for the gate in front of you, your knees going weak.
“Why are you showing me this, Vision,” tears streaming down your face as you sunk into the snow.
“Because there is still time, Y/N. Time for you to save your family and to save yourself, but you need to let your loved ones in. Find comfort in their embrace, and let them find comfort in yours.
“I will, Vis.” You sobbed “I won’t let it wither away. Please, just let me go back!”
Vision took your hands in his. You’re going to be okay, Y/N. You’re never alone. We’re always with you.”
Everything slowly faded away into nothing. You woke with a cry. You struggled to catch your breath as you touched your face and pinched your arms.
“I’m alive!” Sitting up in bed. “There’s still time.” You reassured yourself. “FRIDAY, what day is it?”
“It’s Christmas Day 2023, Ms. Stark.”
“Thank God!”
You jumped out of bed and ran out of your room.
“It’s Christmas! Wake up, you guys!” You shouted happily as you banged on Yelena and Wanda’s doors.
Pepper appeared at the end of the hall. Still in her pajamas with Morgan in her arms.
“Y/N? Are you okay? What’s going on?”
“I'm more than okay. It's Christmas and we're together! Hey, little sis! Come here,” grabbing Morgan from Pepper’s arms and kissing her cheek. “Should we go see what Santa brought you?”
“Yeah!”
You ran towards the living room with Morgan in your arms.
“What is going on?” Yelena mumbled emerging from her room with an impressive bed head.
“I was just about to ask the same question,” Wanda added. She wiped her eyes as Billy and Tommy ran past her towards the Christmas tree.
“A Christmas miracle,” Pepper whispered.
Chapter 83: A Bigger Brain
For the next couple of days, Steve, Nat and Scott worked on their plan ready to talk to Tony. Steve knew they needed to have their plan more or less sorted before going to Stark, or at least as much as they could with their limited knowledge of quantum physics.
So far their plan was to use the quantum realm to go back in time to retrieve the stones, bring them back to the present day and snap their own fingers to bring everyone else back. It sounded simple enough but Steve knew it was anything but.
As Steve drove to the cabin he kept glancing in the rear-view mirror, watching as JJ and Scott talked animatedly in the back seat. JJ’s giggles echoed in the car as Scott told him an outlandish ant-man story. As he watched his mind instantly went to you, if this plan worked you’d be back, JJ would have a mom again. That alone was enough to convince Steve this was the right idea.
Just before midday, Steve pulled up outside of Tony’s lakeside cabin, as he got out to open JJ’s door he spotted Tony carrying Morgan up to the cabin. He sees Tony’s step falter as he spots Scott and Nat get out of the car. He gives a small nod of greeting before turning and heading inside the house.
“Daddy, can I go?” JJ says looking up at Steve.
“yeah go ahead” Steve nods before calling out to JJ as he ran towards the house “no running!”
Steve let out a sigh as he watched JJ catch up with Tony and Morgan, Tony gently directing the two kids to head inside. Steve slowly walks up the steps to the porch to meet Tony.
“I didn’t realise we had more people joining us for lunch” Tony comments nodding over to Nat and Scott.
“we’re here for more than just PB and Js,” Nat says crossing her arms over her chest.
“I’m guessing it has something to do with this one rising from the dead” Tony comments nodding over to Scott.
“Well, I’ve um not been dead… just trapped” Scott stutters nervously.
“I’m all ears,” Tony says sitting down in one of the deck chairs.
“um well when Thanos happened I was in this thing called the quantum realm, have you heard of the quantum realm?” Scott asks rubbing his hands together nervously.
“of course,” Tony says casually, shrugging his shoulders.
“well my- my team, they were supposed to pull me out but didn’t because they got snapped away so I got stuck in there until a couple of days ago, I don’t know how I got out but I did” Scott continues, Tony just humming along as he nodded his head “but I was only there for like 5 hours, not five years so I like travelled through time”
Tony arches a brow at this before glancing over at Steve and Nat “we were hoping maybe we could use the quantum realm to bring everyone back and reverse the snap” Steve explains.
“yeah- yeah so like we use the realm to go back in time and get the stone and use them to snap everyone back!” Scott exclaims.
Silence falls between the four of them, everyone waiting for Tony’s response. Steve watched as Tony rubbed his chin deep in thought before glancing inside the cabin where he could see Morgan and JJ laughing as they ate their lunch.
“Tony” Steve started slowly.
“I need a drink, you guys want a drink? OJ?” Tony says abruptly standing up from his chair and walking inside.
Steve sighs watching him go before glancing over at Nat who was biting her lip nervously.
“is that a good thing? Like is he gonna help?” Scott stammers trying to watch Tony through the window.
“I don’t know” Steve sighs shaking his head.
Eventually Tony reappears with a tray carrying 4 glasses and a jug of orange juice. Tony not saying a single word made everyone even more nervous.
“sounds pretty impossible” Tony finally says with a sigh as he grabs the jug of juice.
“no, we know what it sounds like” Scott stutters, his nerves getting the better of him.
“Tony after everything you’ve seen, is anything really impossible?” Steve asks.
“quantum fluctuation messes with the Planck scale,” Tony says interrupting Steve “which then triggers the Deutsch proposition, can we agree on that?” he asks passing Steve a glass of juice.
“thank you” Steve mutters as he accepts the glass.
“in layman’s terms it means you’re not coming home” Tony sighs turning to Scott.
“I did” Scott argues.
“no, you accidentally survived” Tony sighs “it’s a billion-to-one cosmic fluke, and now you wanna pull a… what do you call it?” he asks looking over at Scott, passing him a glass.
Scott stutters slightly before answering “a time heist?” Scott offers.
Tony scoffs under his breath “yeah a time heist, of course, why didn’t we think of this before?” Tony asks looking over at Steve “oh because it’s laughable because it’s a pipe dream”
Steve sighs deeply “the stones are in the past, we could go back, we could go get them,” Steve says hoping to convince Tony.
“we can snap our own fingers, we can bring everyone back” Nat continues, nodding her head gently.
“or screw it up worse than he already has, right?” Tony rebuts.
“I don’t believe we would,” Steve tells him.
“gotta say it, I sometimes miss that giddy optimism” Tony sighs nodding over to Steve “however high hopes won’t help if there’s no logical, tangible way for me to safely execute said time heist” Tony continues sitting down in the deck chair once more “I believe the most likely outcome will be our collective demise”
Scott shakes his head “not if we strictly follow the rules of time travel, all right?” he says moving to sit down next to Tony “it means no talking to our past selves… no betting on sporting events”
“I’m gonna stop you right there Scott,” Tony says holding out his hand to silence him “are you seriously telling me that your plan to save the universe is based on Back to the Future?” Tony asks him leaning forward in his chair “is it?”
Scott nervously scoffs shaking his head “no”
“good you had me worried there. cause that would be horseshit, that’s not how quantum physics works” Tony tells him quietly.
“Tony,” Nat says her voice cracking slightly “we have to take a stand”
“We did stand” Tony states looking up at her “we did stand and yet here we are”
“I know you got a lot on the line,” Scott says nodding towards the house “you got a wife, a daughter, but I lost someone very important to me, a lotta people did,” Scott says glancing over his shoulder at Steve “and now we have a chance to bring her back, to bring everyone back, and you’re telling me that you won’t even-” he says beginning to rant.
“That's right Scott, I won’t even” Tony sighs interrupting him “I can’t”
The door opens and both Morgan and JJ run out, Morgan climbing onto Tony’s lap, JJ running straight for Steve. Steve forces a smile for his son, putting his hands on his shoulders to reassure him.
“mommy told us to come and save you” Morgan explains as she hugs Tony.
“good job I’m saved” Tony sighs rubbing her back before turning his attention back to Scott “I wish you were coming here to ask me something else, anything else” Tony sighs as he stands up from his chair “I’m honestly happy to see you guys I just… oh look the tables set for seven,” he says as he goes to walk past.
Steve puts his hand out to stop him “Tony I get it, and I’m happy for you, I really am but this is a second chance” Steve says quietly, glancing down at JJ.
“we’ve got our second chances right here cap,” Tony says nodding to Morgan and JJ “can’t roll the dice on it”
“if you don’t talk shop you can stay for lunch,” Tony says looking over at everyone.
Steve nods his head, gesturing for the other two to head back to the car. Scott goes to argue but Nat grabs his arm and leads him back to the car.
“Tony-“ Steve starts gently.
“Steve I’m sorry, I really am but I just can’t see a path without serious risks,” Tony says shaking his head.
“I know” Steve sighs.
“and I know it’s not what you wanted to hear so if you need some time, I can watch JJ for the rest of the afternoon” Tony offers nodding down to JJ who looked up at Steve hopefully.
“yeah that would be great, I wouldn’t want to cut the play date short” Steve nods gratefully.
“it's nothing, c’mon buddy I’ve got some cool gadgets to show you,” Tony says smiling down at JJ “I’ll see you later cap”
“see you later” Steve sighs “be good for uncle Tony and Auntie Pep okay?” Steve says looking down at JJ.
“I will I promise!” JJ nods smiling up at Steve, unaware of the weight on his shoulders.
“good, see you later bean” Steve smiles ruffling his hair up.
As soon as Steve stepped down off the porch Scott and Nat joined him “well he’s scared” Nat says glancing over her shoulder.
“he’s not wrong” Steve admits with a sigh.
“yeah, but I mean what are we gonna do? We need him. What are we gonna stop?” Scott asks jogging slightly to keep up with Steve’s long strides.
Steve stops turning around to face him, spotting JJ inside the cabin with Pepper, a wide smile on his face as he showed her something. Steve felt a painful pang in his chest knowing that could and should be you.
“no I wanna do it right” Steve sighs pursing his lips as he thought, there was only one person with a brain that could rival Tony’s and he was probably more willing to help “we’re gonna need a really big brain,” Steve says looking over at Nat who nods in understanding.
Scott just looks around confused “bigger than his?” he exclaims pointing behind him.
“I know where he likes to have brunch, we can probably get there in time,” Nat says nodding her head as she climbs into the car.
“who? Who are we seeing?” Scott questions as he gets into the car.
“Banner,” Steve says starting the car and pulling away back towards the city.
Walking into the diner Steve instantly spotted Bruce, which ever since his transformation wasn’t hard. Bruce turned smiling when he spotted Steve and the others, waving them over.
“Hey guys nice to see you! I ordered some food! You want coffee? Can we get some coffee over here? Thank you!” Bruce called out as Steve and the others walked over.
“What the hell” Scott muttered under his breath as he followed Steve.
“it’s a long story,” Nat tells him.
“you must be Scott! Nice to meet you” Bruce smiles holding out his hand towards Scott who shook it hesitantly.
“yeah- yeah that’s me” Scott nods his eyes wide in disbelief.
“now I hope you don’t mind me saying, but I thought you were dead,” Bruce says pointing to Scott.
“you wouldn’t be alone” Scott mutters.
“that’s actually why we’re here,” Steve says making Bruce frown slightly.
“sure let's hear it then,” Bruce says gesturing to the booth.
Scott recounted his story from the quantum realm and how he was able to escape, Bruce eating his sausages and eggs as he listened. Steve’s hand wrapped around his glass of water as he studied Bruce trying to gage how he was feeling and how likely he was to help.
“come on, I feel like I’m the only one eating here, try some of that,” Bruce says once Scott was finished, pushing the large bowl of eggs in his direction.
“I’m so confused” Scott admits shaking his head.
“these are confusing times” Bruce chuckles.
“right, no, no that’s not what I meant” Scott stutters.
“Nah, I get it I’m kidding” Bruce laughs “I know it’s crazy! I’m wearing shirts now!” Bruce exclaims gesturing down to his outfit.
“yeah, what? How? Why?” Scott questions.
“five years ago we got our asses beat, except it was worse for me cause I lost twice” Bruce sighs “first hulk lost, then Banner lost and then we all lost”
“no one blamed you Bruce” Nat reminds him.
“I did,” Bruce says with a weak smile “for years I treated the hulk like he’s some kind of disease, something to get rid of,” Bruce says before glancing over at Steve “but then I started looking at him as the cure, 18 months in the gamma lab, I put the brains and the brawn together and now look at me, best of both worlds”
“um excuse me Mr Hulk?” A girl says approaching the table with two other boys.
“yes?” Bruce smiles turning to look at them.
“can we get a photo?” the girl asks hopefully.
“100% little person” Bruce smiles “c’mon set up, do you mind?” he asks passing the phone to Bruce.
“oh yeah yeah” Scott stutters as he takes the phone.
“thanks” Bruce smiles “say green, green!” he grins with the kids.
“do you wanna grab one with me? I’m ant man” Scott offers as he passes back the phone.
The kids look awkwardly at each other “they’re hulk fans, they don’t know ant-man” Scott laughs awkwardly as he tries to pass the phone back.
Bruce tries to convince the kids, while Scott reassures them it was okay the conversation only gets more awkward when one of the boys says “stranger danger”.
“take the goddamn phone” Scott states ending the conversation.
Steve grabs his water taking a couple of sips as he glances out of the window waiting for the kids to leave and the awkward air to vanish. He let out a long sigh as he put his glass down, his patience wearing thin as he tried to get Bruce’s attention.
“Bruce, Bruce!” Steve says finally getting his attention “about what we were saying” he says getting the conversation back on track.
“right” Bruce sighs, nodding his head as he leans back in his chair “the whole time travel do-over? Eh guys it’s outside my area of expertise” he admits.
“well you pulled this off” Nat points out nodding to his Hulk body “I remember a time when they seemed pretty impossible too”
Bruce sighs nodding his head “okay, I’m not saying there won’t be risks, and I can’t promise anything” Bruce says looking over at Steve “but I’ll give it a go, there’s no harm in trying right?”
Steve breaths out a sigh of relief, he knew there was a chance this wouldn’t work and he shouldn’t get his hope up, but they were closer than they were this morning and that’s all that mattered. All Steve needed was that chance no matter how small.
“thank you Bruce, it really means a lot,” Steve tells him gratefully.
“it’s nothing, I’m assuming you still have the van with the gear in?” Bruce asks turning to Scott.
“yeah, it’s at the compound” Scott nods.
“great, well I’ll need to grab a couple of things from my lab and I could use a hand,” Bruce says looking over at Nat and Steve.
“yeah, we can help” Nat nods.
“I can’t I should probably start making my way to go pick up JJ,” Steve says.
“no problem, how is he?” Bruce asks a smile on his face.
Steve smiles gently “bigger, still the same ray of light he’s always been” Steve smiles.
“good I’m glad” Bruce smiles before clapping his hands together “let's get to work!”
When Steve got back to the lakehouse he found Pepper sat outside reading a book “Hey pep, good book?” he asks as he walks up the steps.
“I don’t know only just started it, never realised how little time you have for this sort of stuff once you have kids” Pepper chuckles as he walks over.
“yep, you only really get the evenings and by then you’re too tired” Steve chuckles shaking his head “what’s it about?” he asks.
“composting,” Pepper tells him making his eyebrow rise in amusement.
“sounds thrilling” He smirks.
“oh it really is” Pepper chuckles, and she smiles warmly up at him “you seem like you’re in a much better mood, did Bruce give you the answers you wanted?” she asks him.
“Tony told you?” Steve asks, Pepper nodding her head gently “well he said he’d try, its still a billion to one chance but…” he says before trailing off at the end, looking out at the lake, his mind going to you knowing how much you’d love this view.
“it’s a chance” Pepper finishes for him.
“yeah” Steve whispers looking down at the floor, he then clears his throat “how was JJ?”
“good as gold as always, you’ve raised such a good kid Steve, you should be really proud” Pepper smiles “they’re just in the den, they all fell asleep watching movies, Tony included”
Steve lets out a small huff of a laugh “thanks for watching him” Steve thanked her.
“It's nothing, we love to have him, He and Morgan together are so sweet, I love their friendship,” Pepper says as she stands up, opening the door to lead Steve inside.
“me too, I’m glad he has a friend like Morgan, in a way it reminds me of myself and Bucky but I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not” Steve admits making Pepper laugh.
“well at least we know they’ll have each other’s back” Pepper smiles before gently pushing open the door to the den.
As Steve steps in he spots the three of them fast asleep, Tony sat in between the two kids, head resting back on the back of the small couch, his arms wrapped around the kids as the curled up on either side of him. Steve and Pepper made sure they were quiet as they walked over, Pepper quickly taking a photo before gently waking Tony up.
“hm, what?” Tony snorted as he woke up “oh hey Rogers” he says after blinking a couple of times.
“Hey Tony, thanks for watching JJ, hope he didn’t wear you out too much,” Steve says quietly as he carefully lifts JJ up from the couch, making sure not to wake him.
“tire me out? what are you talking about?” Tony yawns “c’mon let me walk you out,” he says carefully getting up from the couch so he didn’t disturb Morgan.
Steve gives him a small smile of thanks before the pair of them start walking out of the house. The entire walk back to his car was silent and Steve knew it wasn’t just because JJ was still asleep. Tony only spoke up once Steve had put JJ in the car and quietly shut the door.
“look Rogers, I am sorry I couldn’t be more help with this time heist stuff” Tony sighs shaking his head “I know how much you want her back, and if I was in your position I’d be the same but all I can see are risks”
Steve lets out a long sigh nodding his head “its okay Tony” he says quietly.
“it's just that, there’s too much on the line, what if it went wrong and JJ lost you too, as well as everyone else that cares for him” Tony points out “and if it did go right, you can’t undo the past five years” he continues gesturing back to his house “and the world has changed, countries no longer exist, borders have changed, we’ve had new diseases, people have moved on, gotten remarried, had kids and died, bringing half the universe back could cause more problems than it would solve, people are gonna be homeless, alone, with no jobs and no money”
Steve sighs nodding his head “I know, I know it won’t be easy, people are going to need a lot of help to readjust but we have to at least try, I know if I asked my support group if they wanted their loved ones back I know they’d all say yes in a heartbeat” he says.
“I get that” Tony sighs “I would too, I just want you to full think this through, I know you’re pretty good at doing that, but you also used to jump out of jets without a parachute” Tony points out making Steve chuckle gently.
“Y/N put a stop to that,” Steve says smiling to himself “she kept me in line”
“I know, and I’m just trying to do the same in her place,” Tony says gently.
Steve nods his head slightly, glancing back into the car where JJ was still fast asleep, he knew what Tony was saying was right, there were a lot of risks he needed to consider, the most important being what could happen to him and subsequently JJ.
“Thanks Tony” Steve nods before smirking slightly “if only you through Ultron through like this”
Tony groans rolling his eyes “it's been years Rogers, drop it” Tony states pointing at Steve who was still smirking “go on get out, I can’t look at you anymore”
Steve laughs nodding his head “see you around Tony” he smiles opening his car door and climbing inside.
It’s Always Been You ~ 170
OUT OF TIME MASTERLIST
IT’S ALWAYS BEEN YOU MASTERLIST
< previous chapter
Word Count: 5,300ish
Summary: They try to deal with the aftermath of Peter’s identity getting out. Y/N takes matters into her own hands.
Notes: PLEASE READ THE AUTHOR’S NOTE AT THE END OF THE CHAPTER. You must read Out Of Time in order to understand this. The chapter numbers continue from Out Of Time.
Previous on It’s Always Been You…
“There you have it, folks!” The man exclaimed. “Conclusive proof that Spider-Man was responsible for the brutal murder of Mysterious, an inter-dimensional warrior who gave his life to protect our planet, and who will, no doubt, go down in history as the greatest superhero of all time.” Both Tony and Steve scoffed. “But that’s not all, folks. Here’s the real blockbuster. Brace yourselves, you might wanna sit down.”
The screen changed back to Quentin Beck holding the camera on the Tower Bridge.
“Spider-Man’s real—Spider-Man’s real name is— Spider-Man’s name is Peter Parker!” Peter’s school picture appeared on the tv.
“Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit!” Tony exclaimed. “I’m getting the lawyers on the phone!”
“I’m going to get Aunt May and Peter!” Y/N said. “Steve, grab Morgan and get the defenses online. The press will be here before we know it.” Y/N portaled into the Parker’s apartment. “May! May! We need to go! Ma— Happy?” Y/N froze at the sight of Happy crying on May’s couch. “What is happening here?”
“May just broke up with me,” Happy said, trying to appear more put together.
“Oh, uh, I’m sorry but we don’t have time for this. Where’s May?”
“Y/N?” May called, coming into the room. “What’s going on?”
“Peter’s identity’s been revealed. We need to go.”
“What? How?”
“I’ll explain later. Do you know where Peter is?”
“He was going to get MJ and swing her around the city.”
“Great. I’ll get you to the house and then I’ll go after him.”
Clamoring was heard coming from Peter’s bedroom. Y/N rushed over and threw the door open. May, Y/N, and Happy suddenly saw Peter standing in his boxers with MJ right in front of him.
“Now is really not the time to be having sex, Pete!” Y/N reprimanded.
“Mom! I wasn’t—we weren’t— I know!” Peter stumbled over his words. “It isn’t what is looks like!”
“We’ll be talking about this later.” Y/N opened a portal to her and Tony’s house. “Happy, make sure all the windows and doors are locked and that the curtains are drawn. Everyone else, through the portal!”
“But—“
“This is not up for discussion, Peter!”
“Did he just call you mom?” May asked.
“Really not the time for this, May. Now everyone through the portal!”
Happy left to do as he was told as Peter helped MJ and May through the portal. Y/N’s head snapped towards the bedroom window, seeing a helicopter trying to get a look inside the apartment. She flicked her wrist and closed the curtains with her powers.
“I went through the apartment and did what you asked, Y/N,” Happy said, coming back into the room.
“Great,” she responded. “Now let’s get out of here before they break down the door.”
Y/N followed Happy through the portal before closing it behind her.
“Is everyone alright?” Steve asked.
“Yeah, I think so,” Y/N responded. “Where’s Tony?”
“Still working in his office, trying to clean up this mess.”
“I’m sorry,” Peter sighed, looking guilty and weighed down.
“It’s not your fault, Peter,” Steve tried to reassure. “Y/N and Tony will get this all cleaned up.”
“Right,” Y/N agreed with a nod. “I’m going to go check on Tony.”
Y/N left to find her husband in his office, just getting off the phone.
“What’s the plan?” She asked.
“Murdock says that we need to find proof that he didn’t do what it says in the video,” Tony explained. “FRIDAY has already proved that the video was edited and sent it over to Murdock. We just need to find what actually happened. I have FRIDAY now looking over EDITH footage and pulling up any other available footage.”
“Great. How long do you think we need to be on lockdown for?”
Tony sighed. “I don’t know... Maybe a week.” He walked over and began running his hands up and down Y/N’s arms. “You okay?”
“Honestly, I’m scared Tony. What is this going to do to our family? The Avengers? Peter? He will never know a normal day again.”
“Our identities have been known to the public for years and we’ve handled it. We’ll help Peter get through this… We’ll all get through this together.” Tony kissed her forehead. “It’s going to be okay.” He brought her into his chest.
“I hope so.”
~~~
“They’re going after Stark Industries as much as they’re going after Peter,” Matt Murdock stated, sitting at the Stark’s dining room table. Happy, Aunt May, Pepper, Steve, Peter, Y/N, and Tony were all around the table too. “Good thing you have me as head of your legal team.”
“What exactly are you doing to help?” Steve questioned, his authoritative tone on in full force.
“First, I don’t believe any of the charges against Peter are gonna stick.”
“Wait, seriously?” Peter questioned.
“Oh, I knew it,” Aunt May said with relief.
“They are heavily investigating the technology and how it was allowed to be in the hands of a teenager and then given to Mr. Beck,” Murdock explained. “I have received the video footage Stark has found and I think that could be our best evidence to help Peter and Stark Industries.”
“Wait, I thought you said that Peter was cleared?” Y/N questioned.
“He will be. But there’s still the court of public opinion.”
“Which are split pretty evenly between Mysterio’s side and Peter’s,” Pepper added.
“Yes. I believe that the footage will help get more of the public on Peter’s side. But with Stark’s technological advantage, some might be harder to convince.”
“We’ll take what we can get,” Tony said. “Many people won’t believe no matter what we do to prove his innocence.”
“Thank you so much for coming, Matt,” Aunt May said.
Matt stood up as he responded, “of course. I’ll keep in touch.”
“Happy will take you home,” Pepper said. “Thanks again for coming.”
Happy walked Matt Murdock out to drive him back to the city. Y/N chewed nervously on her lip as she thought about options.
“What are you thinking about, Y/N/N?” Steve asked, noticing his sister’s worried expression.
“I… I did this thing, back in London,” she began. “I opened a portal in front of Peter’s friends and I erased and replaced their memories of the event.”
“No,” Tony immediately stated. “You’re not doing that.” He shook his head as he stepped closer to his wife. “Just doing that to four teenagers wore you out. Doing that to the whole world?” Tony clenched his jaw, unable to voice the next words just yet. “That could kill you.”
“Do we have any other option? You can easily erase all technological traces of Peter’s identity being outed and I can erase it from the minds who know. All the minds who don’t need to know.”
“I can’t let you do that, Mom,” Peter spoke up. “It’s too dangerous.”
“Honey,” Y/N turned to Peter, “I would do anything to protect you.”
“You don’t have to.”
“She’s not going to,” Tony interjected. Y/N turned to face him. “I’m not losing you.”
“You don’t know that you will,” Y/N said. “If I channel all my powers—all the powers of the Stones— I think I can do it.”
“What if we use your powers, Y/N, but instead of erasing everyone’s memories, we somehow show everyone what actually happened?” Steve carefully brought up. “Like, Y/N could broadcast Peter’s memories to the world.”
“That could work,” Y/N agreed.
“I don’t know,” Tony shook his head. “It’s still too risky.”
“My powers are limitless, Tony. The same powers I have are the same ones that wiped away half of the universe. The same powers that brought back half of the universe.”
“Yes, but that was different. The Stones were able to be channeled through, not just the powers channeling through you.”
“Then let me do it and hook me up to machines. Track my blood pressure and heart rate and crap. Track it all, I don’t care! We are not letting this ruin his life! Peter deserves a chance at a normal life!” Tears pricked Y/N’s eyes.
“Mom,” Peter said softly, coming up to the woman. “It’s going to be okay. You don’t have to do that for me. I can handle it.”
“Yes, but you shouldn’t have to.”
“You shouldn’t have to go through what any of us have had to because our identities are known. You deserve to finish high school and go to college, like a normal kid.”
“No one’s normal, Mom.” Y/N sighed, closing her eyes and looking away. “And that’s okay. I... I can handle this. I really can.” Peter stepped closer and took one of Y/N’s hands. “Just let me give this a try, okay? If it gets too much for me to handle, then we’ll find another way.”
Y/N nodded, still not opening her eyes or looking at Peter. Everyone watched her, waiting to see what she would do. Suddenly, Y/N ripped her hand from Peter’s grip and placed it on his forehead.
“I’m sorry,” she muttered, tears slipping down her cheeks. “I have to protect this family.”
The others shouted Y/N’s name as she and Peter disappeared through a portal. They landed on a cold, windy mountain top.
“I’m not going to hurt you, Peter, okay?” Y/N said shakily as she cried. “I just want to keep you save.”
“Don’t risk this, Mom,” Peter begged, tears in his eyes. “Please, don’t risk this.”
“I’m just going to erase what happened… those who already knew your identity before, will continue to know and know the truth about what happened. All the others will forget.”
“Doing all that is going to kill you.”
Y/N pressed out a forced smile. “Tell Tony I’m sorry. And Morgan and Steve and Bucky… Just… know that I’m doing this out of love.”
The colors of the Infinity Stones spun around Y/N in wisps. She closed her eyes and focused on Peter’s memories of when his identity was revealed.
“Got them,” she whispered.
“Don’t do this, Mom,” Peter begged. “You can turn back.”
Y/N ignored Peter’s pleas, her heartbreaking as she did. She took a few deep, shaky breaths as she channeled her powers and her own memories of the breaking news, keeping her eyes closed. She focused on the memories as she took a step away from the teenager. Her hands came up to face one another near her chest, power surging between them.
“Mom, please!” Peter shouted. He was growing more and more worried as blood began to trickle out of Y/N’s nose and ears. “Stop! It’s too much!”
Y/N could feel her power building, weakening her body. She knew that she would need to release it soon before something could accidentally happen to Peter. She opened her eyes quickly and met Peter’s teary gaze.
“Remember what I told you to tell them,” Y/N rasped. “And remember that I love you too.”
“Mom, no!” Peter yelled as Y/N blasted him through a portal home.
Once Peter was gone and the portal was closed, Y/N threw her arms out and screamed. Power blasted out of her and soared around the rest of the world. She breathed heavily, blood still running down her face. Quickly, her eyes rolled back and she collapsed on the mountain top.
~~~
“Y/N!” The others shouted as she and Peter disappeared through a portal.
“Damn it!” Tony exclaimed. “FRIDAY, I need Y/N’s location. NOW!”
“She wouldn’t… she wouldn’t hurt Peter, would she?” Aunt May asked.
“Are you crazy?! She would never hurt Peter! What she would do is hurt herself!” Tony ran his fingers through his hair. “I can’t—“ His chest clenched as he suddenly struggled for breath. “She can’t— we have to—“
“I need you to sit down, Tony,” Steve ordered kindly, going over to help his brother-in-law into a chair. “You’re panicking.”
“I can’t—“
Suddenly, a portal opened and Peter was blasted through, hitting the wall with a thud.
“Peter!” Aunt May exclaimed, she and Pepper rushing to his aide.
“Peter, where’s Y/N?” Steve asked.
“She… I tried… but she…” Peter stammered. “She’s trying to fix it. I tried to stop her… we were on this mountain and she— she said she was going to erase the memories. Everyone was going to forget besides those who knew before. She was channeling so much power, blood was running out of her nose and ears.”
“What?” Tony breathed out, heart cracking.
“She told me to tell you all that she’s sorry. That—“
Peter’s retelling of what happened was paused as everyone was hit with a blast of energy, causing them all to stumble.
“She did it,” Peter whispered. “She erased the memories.”
“Excuse me, Boss,” FRIDAY interrupted. “I have found Mrs. Stark’s location and summoned a jet.”
Tony rushed to his workshop. “Send it her way,” he ordered. “I’ll take my suit.”
Tony slammed the arc reactor onto his chest and the nanoparticles formed his suit around him. He hurried outside where no one knew that Morgan was waiting on the porch.
“Dad?” Morgan questioned. “Dad? Where are you going?” Tony ignored her, too worried about what he may find when he reached Y/N. He blasted off. “Dad!” Morgan ran in the direction of his flight path. “Daddy!”
“Morgan!” Steve shouted, running towards the little girl.
“Daddy!” Tears streamed down Morgan’s face. She was so confused and worried. She had never actually seen Tony in his Iron Man suit.
“Morgan!” Steve met up with her and picked up her thrashing body. “Morgan calm down!”
“What’s going on? Where’s Daddy going?”
“Morgan—“
“Don’t lie to me! Where are my parents?”
Steve looked back at the porch to see Pepper, Peter, and Aunt May watching on with sad eyes. Steve cradled Morgan’s head as he held her close, unable to tell her what was going on.
~~~
Tony had to focus on just flying the suit. Thinking of anything else, even Y/N was throwing him into a panic. So he focused on the directions FRIDAY was displaying on the screen in his mask. Tony stumbled as he landed on the mountain top.
“Y/N! Y/N!” He shouted, frantically looking around. “Y/N!”
Catching a glimpse of something a little ways away, Tony flew over to it. He gasped as he noticed it was his wife. She was laying down, blood dripping from her ears and nose, pooling around her. Tony’s helmet disappeared as he fell to his knees beside her.
“Honey, honey, honey,” he said as he pulled her into his arms. “Come on, you have to be alive. FRIDAY?”
FRIDAY took a few seconds to answer. “Life signs detected.”
“Thank God.” He kissed her forced head.
“I recommend getting her to a medical center as soon as possible.”
“ETA on the jet?”
“Inbound, 5 minutes.”
Tony nodded, focusing his attention on his unconscious wife. “You stubborn, stubborn woman… what am I going to do with you?” As he held her close with one arm, his free hand began to wipe the blood from her face. “When will you let me save the day for once?”
“When you… have powers… that… will keep… you… alive,” Y/N rasped, gasping for breath. Slowly, her eyes opened in time to see tears spill from Tony’s eyes. “I… s-sorry…”
“I know, I know… and one day I’ll forgive you,” he chuckled.
“The jet has arrived,” FRIDAY announced, the jet slowly coming down to hover near them.
Tony picked Y/N up easily and carried her into the jet. He carefully laid her down on the cot as FRIDAY began to pilot the jet home.
“I hate you so much,” Tony muttered, still trying to clean the blood from Y/N’s face.
“I know…” she mumbled.
“You shouldn’t have done that.”
“Nothing else… would have… wo—worked.”
“You don’t know that.”
“I know better… than you…”
Tony shook his head. “You can’t…. You can’t use your powers like this. Not anymore, even for our kids.”
“They were giving to me for a reason, Tony.”
“And that reason is done and over with… no more, okay? I can’t—“ Tony stopped, throat tightening with emotion. “I can’t lose you.”
“I know, I’m sorry. I just… I couldn’t let Peter’s life be ruined… I had to do something.”
“What you did was unnecessary and reckless. And don’t think that I”m going to forgive you easily for doing it.”
“I don’t expect you to.”
“Tony!” Steve’s voice suddenly echoed through the jet. “Do you have her? Do you have Y/N?”
“Sorry, yes, I have her,” Tony responded. “She’s with me.”
Steve sighed. “Is she okay?”
“I’m fine,” Y/N answered weakly.
“I’m taking her to the hospital,” Tony stated.
“Do you want me to meet you there?”
“No. We need you to stay with Morgan.” Steve didn’t respond.
“Steve? What’s wrong?” Y/N questioned.
“Morgan didn’t take Tony’s flying off in his suit too well,” Steve admitted. “She freaked out. I did get her to calm down and she’s with Pepper eating ice cream now.”
Y/N took a long, shaky inhale. Tears pooled in her eyes.
“Thank you, Rogers,” Tony responded. “We’ll let you know when we’ve reached the hospital.” The call ended and Tony focused on his wife. “Honey—“
“We are awful, horrible parents,” Y/N whispered, crying.
“Says the person who almost sacrificed their life to protect our son. I’m sure that Morgan is just upset because she’s never seen me in the suit before and everything was happening so fast.”
“We need to do better… I need to do better.”
“If only our stupid friends and family would stop getting themselves in trouble.” Y/N huffed out a laugh. “We’ll do better, honey.” He leaned down and kissed her forehead. “First we’ve got to get you better.”
~~~
Y/N was back unconscious before the jet arrived at the hospital closest to their home. The doctors took Y/N away from Tony for a bit to run tests, only to conclude that her body was just exhausted and needed rest. Once he was allowed back at Y/N’s side, Tony called Steve and told him to bring Morgan and anyone else who wanted to, over to the hospital. Tony waited outside the room for the family to arrive.
“Daddy!” Morgan exclaimed, running down the hall to Tony. Steve, Peter, and Aunt May were trailing behind the little girl.
“Morgan,” he breathed out, crouching down to allow her to run into his arms. She ran and threw her arms around his neck. Tony held her tightly. “I’m so sorry, Mo… I heard I scared you… I’m so sorry…”
“It’s okay, Daddy,” Morgan responded. “You didn’t scare me. I was just worried.”
“Still, I’m so sorry.”
Morgan pulled back to look at her father. She noticed a few tears trickling down his stumbled cheeks. Gently, she held his face in her hands.
“Don’t cry,” Morgan comforted. “I’m okay.”
A watery smile grew on Tony’s face. “This world doesn’t deserve you, kid,” he said. “Not one bit of you.”
“Where’s mom?”
“She’s in there.” He motioned to the room behind him with his head. “Do you want to see her?” Morgan nodded. “Go ahead and go in, just be careful. Your mom is tired. I need to talk to the others real quick. I’ll me in there soon.”
Morgan nodded once more before disappearing into the room Y/N was resting in. Tony sighed, hanging his head as he remained crouched down.
“How is she?” Aunt May asked.
“She’s tired,” Tony said, slapping his knees as he stood up straight. “When I got there… she was unconscious and there was blood on her face. I thought—“ Tony closed his eyes. “She pushed herself too far this time.”
“Is mom going to be okay?” Peter nervously asked.
Tony looked at Peter. “She’s going to be okay, kid. Please know that none of this is your fault. Y/N made her choice… whether we agreed with it or not. We can’t change what she did, we just have to live with it.”
“Are you okay, Tony?” Steve wondered, studying his brother-in-law carefully. Steve knew Tony well enough to know that he couldn’t have reacted well to finding Y/N.
“I’m fine.” Tony nodded, lying slightly. “Completely fine.”
~~~
As Y/N slowly came to, she could feel someone laying next to her. Her eyes crept open to see Morgan curled up beside her.
“Mo?” She rasped.
Morgan’s head snapped up. “Mommy!” The girl squealed, hugging her the best she was able to.
“Hello, sweetheart.” Y/N hugged back. “I’m so sorry…”
“Uncle Steve told me that you saved Peter. Is that true?”
“Yes, baby,” Y/N nodded slightly, “it’s true.”
“You are the world's greatest hero.”
Tears filled Y/N’s eyes. “What?”
“You are the world's greatest hero, Mom.”
“I thought… oh, Morgan… my sweet Morgan. Come here.” The duo hugged again. Y/N held a kiss to Morgan’s head. “I love you show much.”
“I love you too, Mommy.”
~~~
“I have to apologize to you, Peter,” Y/N said. “I shouldn’t have done what I did, the way that I did it. It was wrong to take you so abruptly like that.”
“It’s okay, Mom,” Peter said, giving her a small smile. “I forgive you.”
“You don’t have to forgive me, not yet.”
“But I want to. You sacrificed your life to keep my identity a secret. I understand why you did what you did, you did it to protect me.”
“You deserve to finish high school, go to college, have a life, start a family, all without people after you because they know who you are.”
“Thank you, Mom. I’ll do my best to make you proud.”
“Pete, you already make me proud.”
~~~
The summer wrapped up with everyone staying close to home and hanging out with each other. Peter began his senior year and quickly sent in his college applications. Tony offered to put in a good word at MIT but Peter insisted that he try and get into MIT by himself. Which he successfully did and so did MJ and Ned. Tony decided to throw a party at the New York Penthouse for Peter early December when they had received the exciting news. Tony, Y/N, Morgan, Steve, Peter, Aunt May, MJ, Ned, Happy, Pepper, Rhodey, Harley, Sam (and his sister, Sarah, and nephews), and Bucky all showed up to support.
“He looks so happy,” Y/N said softly, watching Bucky wrap his arm around Sarah as he talked to Steve. “He deserves to be happy.”
Tony wrapped his arm around Y/N’s waist. “Hate to admit that it’s a nice look on him,” Tony responded.
“And look at him just letting Morgan hang from his metal arm,” she laughed. “And Sarah’s boys clearly adore him.”
“Our old man is growing up.”
Y/N playfully shoved Tony. “Stop it.”
Tony spun her around to face him. He playfully nipped at her lip. “Make me.”
“Tony, there are kids around.”
“So let’s sneak off. You can portal us home and back. No one will miss us for 20 minutes.”
“I thought we agreed I’d only use my powers for an emergency.”
“This is totally an emergency.”
“Tony, I—“ Y/N was cut off by her phone buzzing. She pulled it out to see that it was Clint.
“What could Legolas possibly want?”
“I don’t know.” Y/N answered the call and answered the phone. “Hello?”
“Y/N,” Clint breathed out in relief. “I need your help.”
~~~
Y/N portaled to the place Clint requested and set the briefcase she was carrying on the worktable in front of her. She looked up at Clint.
“Do I want to know why you’ve requested Stark Tech and Pym Tech Arrowheads?” She said. Clint ignored her. “You know that Tony has plenty of bows, arrows, and a new suit ready and waiting for you to use.”
“I little making the arrows myself,” Clint commented.
“Holy shit!” Y/N spun around to see the female that had exclaimed that. “You—You’re Lady America!”
“Don’t call me that.” / “You don’t want to call her that.”
“How—you—oh my—“
“And who are you?” Y/N questioned. “And why, Clint, are you working with a teenager too?”
“Too?”
Y/N waved her hand in the girl’s direction. “None of your business. What is going on here Barton?”
“She’s not a teenager,” Clint mumbled as he opened the briefcase Y/N had brought. “She’s twenty-two.”
“Not helping.”
“Kate Bishop, this is Y/N Ro— what last name do you use?”
“Either.” Y/N shrugged. “Nice to meet you, Kate.”
“It’s nice to meet you too,” the young adult fan-girled.
“Kate, can you give me and Y/N a few moments?”
“But I—“ Clint shot her a look that quickly shut her up. “I’ll be in the other room.”
Y/N waited until Kate was out of the room to talk again. “What is going on here, Clint?”
“Yelena is after me.”
“What? She is? Why?”
“It’s because of what happened to Nat.”
Y/N sighed. “What happened to Natasha wasn’t your fault, Clint. We both know that there was really no stopping her once she put her mind to something.” Clint looked away from Y/N, trying to contain his emotions. “Have you been to the Smithsonian’s exhibit on us?”
Clint shook his head. “No, but I’ve been meaning to take the kids.”
“Well, there’s a picture that I’ve never seen before in the exhibit. It’s of you, me, Nat, and Coulson… we look so much younger, a whole other lifetime ago… Now two of them are gone and we’re both married with kids. We really shouldn’t be taking risks like we used to, especially with Yelena involved. She’s part of us, Clint, even if we’ve never actually met her. She’s one of us. But she’s good at what she’s been trained to do and I’m worried that you’re in over your head here. You have a family to get home to, Clint.”
“I know that.”
“Please tell me that you have more than that young girl on your side.” Clint stayed silent. “You need to get home for Christmas.”
“This is something I need to do without the whole crew getting involved.”
“Then why did you call me?”
“I needed your access to the tech,” Clint smirked.
“Is that all I am now? Your delivery guy?”
“Kind of.”
“Don’t do anything stupid, Clint.”
“I already have… have you seen that new musical, Rogers, yet?”
“Nope, we got an invite to the opening but we’ve been trying to lay low. They did say they have seats for us saved every night if we wanted them.”
“Go see it. Let me know how you all feel.”
“I’ll be in touch then… please don’t get yourself killed, Barton, and let me know if you need any more help.”
“I’ll see you around.”
Y/N opened a portal, but instead of leaving she appears where Kate was waiting.
“Holy shit!” Kate exclaimed again. “You can portal!”
“Yes, and if you want to keep your memories of this whole event, you’re going to keep that piece of information to yourself. Alright?”
Kate nodded. “Yes—yes, ma’am.”
“Are you sure you want to do this?”
“Uh, do what exactly?”
“Do this life… the hero thing. It’s not what it seems… this… this life has a way of controlling you. Just… be careful, alright?”
“I’ll—I’ll try.”
“Again, it was nice to meet you, Kate.” Y/N opened a portal behind her and turned to face it. “Keep him safe, Kate. He needs to get home for Christmas.”
~~~
“I’m really not sure about seeing this,” Steve grumbled, holding an armful of treats as he lead the way to their seats in the theater. “Why did that have to make a musical about me?”
“Because you’re the Star Spangled Man with a plan, Cap,” Tony responded.
“I’m actually really excited to see it, Steve,” Harley said.
“Me too!” Peter added.
“Me three!” Morgan joined.
Tony sat on the end so that Steve wouldn’t be able to make an easy getaway, with Y/N next to him, then Harley, Peter, Morgan, and Steve. The musical started and the family tried not to cringe the whole time. When they reached the Battle of New York scene, the family couldn’t hold back anymore.
“Why the hell is Scott in this?” Tony asked. “He has more stage time in this battle than you do, honey, and you were actually there!”
“Oh my gosh…” Y/N gasped. “Someone must have seen Scott in the alley when we went back for the Stones.”
“Well, shit.”
~~~
“That was so terrible,” Y/N laughed as Tony drove them home. Harley, Peter, and Morgan were completely asleep in the back while Steve was driving his motorcycle home.
“It really was,” Tony agreed with a laugh. “It did get me thinking though.”
“Yeah? About what?”
“If you would change anything about what happened in your life? If you wish that you would have lived the life you would have if you hadn’t followed Steve into HYDRA that day?”
“Easy, no. My life now, with this family, is better than any other I could have had back then.”
Tony reached over and intertwined his hand with hers. He lifted it up and kissed the back of her hand. “Good… I love you.”
“I love you most.”
~~~
Harley and Peter woke up enough to get themselves to bed when they arrived home. Tony carefully unbuckled Morgan and carried her upstairs to her room.
“I’ll get her changed,” Y/N whispered, already moving to grab her daughter a set of pajamas. “You go get ready for bed.”
“Alright,” Tony responded. He came over and pressed a kiss to her cheek. “Don’t take too long.”
Y/N tried her best not to wake her daughter as she changed her. Once Morgan was changed, Y/N tucked her into bed and kissed her forehead. She looked at Morgan lovely before moving to turn off the lamp.
“Mommy?” Morgan whispered before Y/N could actually turn off the light.
Y/N turned back around. “Yes, dear?”
“Was any of that play true?”
Y/N sucked in her lips as she came back to set on the edge of Morgan’s bed. “Parts of it were, yes.”
“Can you tell me the true story?”
“Maybe another night. It’s late sweetheart and you—“
“Please, mommy, tell me.”
“Yeah, mom,” Peter urged, appearing in the doorway with Harley. “Tell us.”
“Fine,” Y/N sighed. The boys quickly joined Morgan on the bed. “You want to hear my story? It’s a long one.” Tony came to the doorway and leaned against it.
“You only need to start it,” Harley said. “You can finish it another night.”
“Alright, alright… where to start, where to start…”
“How about at the beginning?” Morgan said.
“I guess I’ll start at the beginning then… Once upon a time, a pair of twins were born; the girl was much healthier than the boy. And they grew the little boy longed to be stronger, to protect those who could not protect themselves. One day, when the twins were older, their dear friend, Bucky, got drafted into the army. And that is where their story begins…”

Being A Stark (11)- Peter Parker x Reader
Word Count:1955 Warnings: Nothing I can think of Author’s Note: So was I planning to leave for a few months and not write? No. Did school kick my ass for a bit? HELL YEAH. But I have the next chapter already written so hopefully you won’t have as much of a wait! Let me know what you think/if you want to be tagged.
“Nana! Pops!” You fall into your grandparents arms and hold on. You haven’t seen them since the Blip. They aged in the five years you missed, so you can only guess that they didn’t Blip.
“Hi sweet girl.” Your nana’s voice is like music that you haven’t heard in a while.
“Hi Nana and Pops!” Morgan says, or rather yells, as she also runs over to give a hug to the two people she’s never met. Your grandparents look at the little girl that has wrapped her arms around their legs in surprise. They look to you for an explanation.
“This is my little sister Morgan.” You scoop her up.
“I want to go back to my grandparents.” She whines, trying to get out of your arms.
“Maybe in a moment Morguna.” Your dad comes over and takes your sister into his arm. “You, me and Mom are going to go to the table while we give your sister a moment with… Nana and Pops.” He pauses before saying your names for them, not wanting to tell Morgan that they’re not technically her grandparents. Pepper just gives you a smile before walking away with your dad and sister.
“Your sister thinks we’re her grandparents too?” Your pops asks, smiling softly.
“We haven’t really explained that we’re only half siblings, since Mo-Pepper adopted me and stuff.”
“Calling her mom isn’t going to hurt us. Our daughter has been gone for twenty years. She lost her chance to be a mom when she chose drugs and alcohol over her baby.” Nana states and Pops nods in agreement.
“Morgan just knows me as her sister. We have the same parents as far as she knows so when I said that Nana and Pops lived in Queens, she just assumed that you were her grandparents too.”
“What about Tony and Pepper’s parents? Won’t she be confused on why she would have three sets of grandparents if we are also her grandparents?” You shake your head, thinking back to when your dad explained about his parents.
“Dad’s parents were killed back before I was born. So Morgan technically only has one living set of grandparents. It’s where she and I differ because I technically get two sets because I get Mom’s and you guys.”
“I think we can manage to have another grandbaby.” Nana says softly. “We’ve got plenty of love in our heart for another kid.”
“Good, because I think she might have cried if we told her you weren’t her grandparents. She was excited the whole ride over here about meeting her other grandparents.”
“Let’s go meet our new grandchild.” Your pops says with a smile, his arm wrapping around you as you walk towards the area where your family had walked off too.
“Nana, Pops, over here!” Morgan calls from her seat next to your mom where there are two open seats waiting, presumably for your grandparents. Your dad motions for you to sit next to him on the other side of the table. You sit down next to your dad, smiling at him before you glance at the menu. You’ve been to this place a few times, but not since the Blip happened. There’s a few items missing from the menu, but also a few new ones taking their places. Morgan starts chattering away to your grandparents as they sit down. They glance at the menu, but are paying more attention to Morgan then their choice of what to eat. You can see the pull that is impossible to feel when near Morgan. You love your little sister so much.
Dinner passes easily, your grandparents listening to the stories Morgan wants to tell them. Through lunch you can see your grandparents treating Morgan in the same way they had treated you growing up. They listen to stories, share some of their own, and give a lot of love and support where needed. Morgan loves so big and so easily. It’s hard not to love her. You know this from experience. It took mere moments to fall in love with your sister, so it’s unsurprising to you that your grandparents also love her too.
Your parents and grandparents still seem hesitant around each other. They speak to each other in light but cautious tones that make you wish they could just learn to accept each other. You love all of them so much that you wish they would just be family instead of being hesitant strangers around each other. Pepper seems to be making more of an effort than your dad, but on the other side of the table it’s the same with your Nana making more of an effort than your Pops. Something about the men in your life makes them hesitant around each other. But you’ll just keep pushing them towards each other and hopefully one day they’ll be like the family you always dreamed of.
“Next time, you’ll have to come over so I can show you my Barbies and my Avenger action figures. And you can meet Finn. He loves to cuddle and play fetch. Ok?” Morgan asks as she cuddles into Pops’ arms for a hug.
“That sounds like a fun day Morgan.” You listen to this as your Nana holds you for a hug.
“You’re alway welcome to come over if you need to escape the limelight of being a Stark.” Your Nana whispers in your ear. “Especially if it comes down to people sharing your personal information in the press again.”
“I know. I love you.”
“I love you too babydoll. We haven’t moved. Your key still will work.”
“I’ll remember that.” You kiss your Nana’s cheek. “I love you lots.”
“Love you to the moon and back babydoll.” Morgan is reaching for your Nana so you switch grandparents.
“I love you Pops.” You say as you curl into his arms, taking in the scent of him- earthy and tobacco from the pipe he smokes occasionally.
“I love you too sweet girl. Always have, always will. You’ll always be our first grandbaby. Nothing changes just because we have another little love now.” You curl a little further into your Pops arms.
“Maybe we can take Morgan to the planetarium one day. Share space with her too.” You say softly.
“That sounds like something that would be fun. Maybe we can bring your dad along too. Since he’s been to space.” Pops suggests, trying to be civil towards the man that you clearly love, even if he took you from him.
You reply honestly as you say, “he’d probably love that.”
From across the way, Pepper and Tony watch as their kids hug the grandparents that one of them spent fourteen years of her life growing up with. They owe a lot to these two people, especially since they’re loving a kid that they have no actual relationship with as if she’s their grandchild. But more than anything, they played a major role in bringing you into this world. Without them, there would be no you. And both Pepper and Tony are in agreement, the world needs you in it.
“We’ll see you later lovebug.” Nana says to Morgan as she sets her on the ground.
“Pinky promise?” Morgan asks, not wanting to say goodbye yet. But Nana holds her pinky out to your little sister.
“Pinky promise.” You watch this interaction from inside a side hug from your Pops. You’re not totally ready to say goodbye either. But you also know that you need to go pick up Peter before it gets too late. It’s already almost seven and if you wait much later, he’ll be getting back to Queens really late after hanging out with your family tonight. So being the big sister Morgan needs right now you reach a hand towards her.
“Come on Momo, we have to go pick up Peter.”
“Really? We’re picking him up? He’s not just going to meet us back at home?” You nod your head.
“It wouldn’t make sense to have him meet us at home because we’re like ten minutes from him right now.”
“Can we see where he lives?” You look towards your dad on that one. You had been expecting to just have Peter meet you outside his apartment.
“We can see the building where he lives Morguna.”
“Does he live in a house like us?” She asks as you start to walk towards where Happy is parked. She turns around to wave at your grandparents who are walking in the other direction. You wave too as they wave back at you all.
“Peter lives in an apartment building. Do you remember when we talked about what those are?” Your mom asks.
“Yeah it’s stacks of houses on top of each other.” Morgan says as you all climb in the car. You sit down next to Morgan and after buckling in, you text Peter that you’re headed to pick him up. You’ve missed him. It may have only been a few hours since you saw him in the hallway at school, but you’re so used to being with him all the times that you can be with him, especially on Fridays, that your heart misses him from being away from him.
You realize, you’ve never felt this way about someone before. Sure you’ve had friends and other significant others that you don’t like missing days from, but only a few hours? Never.
“You’re rather quiet back there.” Your dad says from the passenger’s seat, where he’s forced to sit until he gets approval to drive.
“Just thinking.”
“About a certain teenage boy?” Tony’s eyebrow raises at you.
“I mean we are going to pick him up. Is there something else I should be thinking of?”
“I don’t know, maybe the convent I should have sent you to before you got together with my teenage mentee.”
“You would miss me too much to send me away.” You kiss his cheek before climbing out of the car. You’re pretty sure your dad said something in response, but you don’t hear it as you walk up the stairs to Peter’s building. You don’t get to come here that often because of school and a certain protective parent, but being in Queens always makes you feel like being home again.
Practically floating up the stairs, you make your way towards the door you know Peter will be behind. You wave at his neighbor walking into their own apartment before knocking on the door. And a smile illuminates your face when the door opens.
“Hey Y/N!” Your smile is contagious because Peter can’t stop either.
“Hi babe.” Peter steps into the hallway, looks both ways to see no one else is there, and then pulls you into his arms before placing three quick kisses on your lips. “Mmm.” You sigh into his kiss. You could stay like this all evening, but you know there is an excited five year old waiting to see Peter. “We should probably head downstairs before my dad comes looking for us.”
“Yeah, probably a good idea.” Peter turns back towards the apartment and calls out. “Aunt May I’m leaving.”
“Have a fun time! Be safe. If it gets late, call me and I’ll come pick you up.”
“I’ll be fine May. Bye!”
“Hi Y/N. Bye Y/N.” May teases as Peter shuts the door. Peter’s hand wraps around yours.
“Family fun night?” He asks as you walk down the stairs.
“Family fun night. I think the plan is a game and then a movie. And Morgan trying to get juice pops at some point I bet.”
“Well I can’t wait.” If you could spend every Friday with your boyfriend and your family, life might be the best.

Man Of Iron
Pairings: Tony x Reader, Happy x Pepper Summary: After the final battle Tony is rushed to medical, his family visits him during his recovery. Notes: If you cant tell I’m still mad at the ending of endgame - fuck that ending Warnings: slight angst, shitloads of fluff masterlist
The burns on your arms were a constant reminder of one of the hardest days of your life. Peter had joked that they were the Avenger’s membership badges, showing his matching burns proudly.
They were the reason he was still here.
When Tony put on the gauntlet you instantly joined hands with him, Nebula’s story about the power stone ringing in your ears. Catching on, the others soon created a chain, the power spreading across the hundreds of bodies united against the mad titan. It was poetic really, everyone standing in line as you watched them all disintegrate, people you considered family bonded by the marks of the biggest war ever fought.
And you had won.
Tony had been in a coma ever since he had fainted, just a few minutes after watching Thanos disintegrate, the last words on his lips being “shawarma?”
Since then you had only left his side to shower twice when Pepper or Rhodey had forced you to.
“How’s the old man doing?” Nat asked, slinking into the room, “Still breathing?”
“He’s doing good”
Despite the spread out power of the stones, Tony had lost his arm to the initial surge of energy, a large burn spreading up the side of his neck.
“He’ll have a field day designing an arm” Peter had said during his first visit. You had just nodded with teary eyes, Morgan buried sleepily into your side as you watched the rise and fall of his chest to reassure yourself, “Maybe give him and Mr Bucky some common ground. That’ll be good for them both”
“Peter’s bringing Morgan here in a bit, Happy and Pepper are bringing Harley”
That brought a smile to your face, the idea of seeing them cheering you up considerably. Nat noticed and pulled you into a hug, the reassurance you felt was enough to make you tear up.
“Peter said that he’s been enjoying his time as a brother - said that it wasn't necessarily a bad thing that he missed the smelly phase” Nat said, trying to distract you, “He and Harley are really getting along too whenever Pepper’s over to look after Morgan, looks like a real friendship could be blooming there”
You nodded along as she talked, your eyes hardly ever straying from Tony’s chest.
“Happy even mentioned taking time off of work to stay here for a few nights, let you go home and recuperate a bit. Morgan’s been a bit fussy the last few days”
“I cant leave him”
Your voice was cracked from misuse, though the terror you were feeling was clear.
“I cant. I just feel like the moment I leave him for longer than an hour he’s going to slip away - it’s been a week Nat. He should be better than this now! I thought Wakanda was supposed to have special healing shit?”
“They do”
“So why isn't it working?”
She released a heavy sigh, nodding slowly, before settling further into her chair.
“Okay”
The second time the kids had visited, Morgan had asked the one question you honestly didn’t know how to answer.
“Is daddy dying?”
Rhodey had just tightened his grip on your shoulder, both of you desperately trying to hold it together in front of them. Peter - god you had missed him - was a smart kid, too smart for his own good, and immediately jumped in.
“He’s just sleeping, he’ll wake up when he’s better” Peter had smiled, placing Morgan gently on the side of the bed away from any important looking wires, “See? As long as his chest is moving up and down, that means he’s ok”
Morgan had nodded, curling up into Tony’s side, eyes glued onto the steady rise and fall of his chest.
When Peter had turned back to you, the tears rolling steadily down your cheeks, you opened your arms to him. You watched as the smile dropped from his face, his body barrelling towards you, burrowing his face into your neck as you embraced him, fingers carding through his hair as you murmured empty promises.
Rhodey had moved to stand by Morgan as you manoeuvred the two of you to the chair in the corner of the room, still hugging as you sat down, and allowed him to curl up like a child on your lap. Without a dry eye in the room, you focused on soothing Peter, your soft murmurs filling the room.
Nat standing up broke you out of your reverie, your eyes straying from Tony to see Morgan and Peter standing in the doorway.
“Mummy! Peter bought me an ice-cream” Morgan grinned, the remains smudged around her mouth, “I at it all really quickly and I didn't get any brain freeze!”
“No way” you smiled, gently wiping the mess off, “how did you manage that?”
“I’m magic”
“You sure are”
Quickly engulfing her in a hug, you moved over to Peter and gave him one too.
“Where’s the party?”
The familiar voice made you freeze on the spot, eyes widening.
“Daddy!”
You spun around, clutching Peter’s hand in yours, blinking in disbelief at the sight in front of you.
“I’ll get the doctor” Nat said urgently, running out of the room.
“Tony?”
Your voice wavered as you stepped closer to the bed, Peter standing just behind your back, spare hand reaching out to steady Morgan as she bounced excitedly next to the bed.
“Hey baby” he croaked, his signature grin on his face as he looked at you, eyes shining, “I’m guessing we won”
You just nodded, hand reaching out to gently cup the side of his cheek, “Yeah we did”
“Morgan? Pete?”
“We’re here Mr Stark” the teenager murmured tearfully, tightening his hold on your hand as he moved closer to the side of the bed.
“I’m here too!” Morgan squealed, moving to your side and demanding to be picked up before giving Tony a wide grin, “Peter bought me ice cream!”
“Wow! That's amazing pumpkin” he grinned, craning his neck to check that Peter was really there before turning his attention back to Morgan, “what flavour?”
“Strawberry with sprinkles”
“That sounds yummy -” he paused, face scrunching up in pain as he tried to move his arm, eyes widening when he realised he couldn't, “what?”
“The stone … it took your arm. I’m sorry Tones”
He seemed to sink into the pillows slightly, a huff leaving his lips.
“Well, I guess I wasn't coming off scot-free, huh”
Sensing the change in the mood, Peter leaned over the bed slightly so that he was in his eyeline, “Good news is you can make a cool prosthetic for it now! It could be red and gold like the suit, and I - I could help if you want”
That seemed to cheer him up, a grin coming easily to Tony’s face, “great plan kid”
Peter nodded, grinning at improving Tony’s mood. He backed away as Tony’s gaze turned back to you, his eyes pulling you towards him.
“It’s okay now” he whispered, his good arm moving to cup the back of your head, gently resting your forehead against his, “I’m sorry”
You chuckled wetly, hands gripping at his t-shirt, “Just - don't do that again Tony. I don't think I could bear it if you-”
Your voice broke off, Tony humming soothingly, hand caressing the nape of your neck.
“I promise to never use the gauntlet again” he said, humour licking a his tone.
You pulled away, wiping your tears as you laughed, “Good. Or else I would’ve had to … hurt you”
He scoffed lightly, raising his eyebrow at Morgan, “She wouldn't”
Joining the joke, Morgan nodded vehemently, face mock-serious as she leant closer to her dad, whispering in his ear, “Oh yes she would! Mummy can be scary”
Looking to Peter for backup, the teenager just shrugged, a barely restrained laugh playing at his lips, “Morgan’s right, y/n can be terrifying”
Tony huffed, sinking further back into his pillows, “I see how it is, I guess I’ll have to just stay here for the time being then”
“YES”
Tony looked shocked for a second at the three of us shouting, before bursting into laughter.
“oh -ow” he groaned, arm flying to his stomach as he wheezed, “I get it!”
The moment was disrupted as Natasha burst back through the door, a group of doctors on her heel.
“Everybody out for now please” the main doctor said, bustling towards the bed, eyes shining with purpose, “We’ll call you back in when we have finished assessing his situation”
The ramps were not the only new addition to the Stark farm. Peter’s laughter echoing through the rooms were a welcomed addition, one that seemed to complete the house.
The arm was also new, shining at Tony’s side like a badge of honour - and in a way it was. Hours spent in the lab with Peter had brought the arm to life, the two using the time for bonding, coming out of it closer than ever.
Visitors came more often, Nebula dropping by every time she was on-earth, Rhodey finally settling down in a house only ten minutes away (which had nothing to do with Tony guilting him with his missing limb) and starting a slightly confusing relationship with Carol Danvers. If it worked for him, it was fine with you - you weren't going to judge him.
Natasha made sure to stay in touch, her and Bruce staying with the Barton's for the time being. Steve, Sam and Bucky were god knows where, though from the look of Bucky’s Instagram they were happy.
All in all, your life was better than it had been in a while, and for that you were eternally grateful. And if Tony felt your burn mark every night before you went to bed, only to check that this was all in fact real, well, the doubt would fade with time.

Precious ones
a/n: I just notice that I don't know you, I'll be happy to talk with you but right now I give you that...
*not my GIFs*
Yelena Belova x Stark!Reader; Tony Stark x Daughter!Reader; Scott Lang x Female!Reader(platonic); Hope van Dyne x Female!Reader(platonic); Cassie Lang x Female!Reader(platonic); Avengers x Female!Reader
Summary: you may have been married to the blonde widow since nearly two years now but nobody knew. When your father learnt that he didn't totally act like you except.
Type: generally Fluff but a big Angst part
Warning: mention of blood, car accident and mention of death
word count : 4771 (it's long sorry)
-------
"I'm glad it's finished; I need to take a shower and sleep," Yelena said. She was back from a mission with the Avengers. She joined them four months ago, and to be honest, you were the one who convinced her. You were relieved to know she was not alone, and you were sure your father would protect her even if he didn't know who she was for you.
"Oh, come on, Yelena, it was fun." Natasha said, and her sister glared at her.
"You were not the one who almost got hit by the green giant." She replied, and Bruce looked at the ground.
"Mr. Stark, Y/n just arrived at the compound." Friday said, and everybody looked at Tony.
"Thank you, Friday. Let her know we will lend in 10 minutes." He replied, and when he met the curious faces of the others, he explained, "Guys, be ready to meet someone really important to me."
Now all the Avengers were more curious. Okay, maybe not all, Yelena was not curious; she was happy. It's been two weeks since the last time she saw you. You both have been married for one year and a half now, but nobody knew except three people. Antonia and Selina, two widows who were with you at this moment, and your mom Pepper. You hadn't told your father yet because you hadn't really found the time, and Pepper promised she would let you announce it to him.
Ten minutes later, like promised, they were walking to the living room in the compound. They were greeted by Friday and then by Pepper and Morgan. And when your little sister finally finished hugging everyone, you came back from the kitchen.
"Guys, let me introduce you to one of my favorite people in the world, my older daughter, Y/n Stark." Your father said, and you rolled your eyes at his attitude while everyone was shocked by his revelation.
"Nice to meet you." Steve was the first to come back to his senses. "I'm–"
"Steve Roger, aka Captain America." You cut him off. "To be honest, I know all of you." you said, and you paused your eyes on the two new recruits behind them. "And you two should be the news recruits Kate Bishop and Yelena Belova, right?" You said, and the brunette nodded frantically while the blonde just smiled.
"Why didn't we see you earlier?" Natasha asked, and despite the fact that her sister groaned loudly, you chuckled.
"I was working in San Francisco, with Hope. I think you know her as ‘The Wasp’." you said
"Wait, Scott's girlfriend?" Sam asked, and you nodded.
"And she didn't like to spend her time with her dad anymore." your dad added, and you playfully groaned.
"Oh, come on don't say that, it's just that I don't like the parties, but it's okay now." you said
"You want to come to my new party?" he asked.
"Definitely not. But, I move on in New York." You announced, and he raised his eyebrows, he knew how much you liked to work with the daughter of Hank, she was like your big sister. "I decided to spend more time with my little sister, so I joined Stark Industri." You explained, and he couldn't help but hug you tightly.
"Does that mean I will see you more often?" He asked, and you nodded.
After that, you properly introduced yourself and spent the afternoon with them before you went back to your house. Yelena had to finish her paperwork before she could leave, so when she was working, the rest of the Avengers were in front of the TV, watching a movie, when Kate broke the silence.
"Did you see how Yelena reacted when she saw Y/n?" she asked, and everyone thought for a moment before agreeing. "I think she likes her, but I can be totally wrong." she said.
"Yeah, but Y/n has a ring on her finger." Natasha said.
"Don't worry, it's nothing." Tony said, and everybody looked at him confused. "She just really likes jewels, that's why she always wears rings." he explained.
"Yelena is the same. She always wears rings." Natasha said.
"I think we should let them know each other more." Kate proposed, and everyone nodded.
Two months after you almost spent all your free time in the compound, you were searching for the right moment to talk to your father about you and the Russian, but that was never really the right occasion. If he wasn't too busy with his work, you were working; if you were both free, your wife was busy, and you promised her to wait for her to tell him. But even with that, all the heroes seem to have noticed that you quickly became close to the blonde; they thought it was a good friendship. You both decided to keep your relationship secret until you talked with your father and her sister. Yeah, even the great spy Natasha Romanoff was unaware that her own sister was married.
You were in the kitchen with Natasha and Kate when Yelena came, "Hi Yelena." You greeted her without even looking at her. For everyone, it would be a little weird, but we talk about Yelena Belova, a super train widow, she was very discreet, so it was funny to see the face of the archer when she saw you recognize the footsteps of her friend when she couldn't yet.
"Hi Y/n, were you not supposed to work now?" she asked.
"Yeah, but I had something to finish before." you said, and you finished what you were doing. "Oh, I brought a new toy for Fanny. I left it in my dad's lab." you said before leaving the room.
"See you later!" the blonde shoots at you.
"See you later!" you yelled back.
When you were out of the room, Natasha cleared her throat, and her sister looked at her. "Oh, good morning, Nat, and good morning, Kate. I didn't see you." she said, and now her sister was surprised; it was not the type of Yelena to not greet her first in the morning. Of course she was happy to see her sister was making a new friend, but usually no one came before her. She wanted to say something, but Yelena started to leave the room. "I will train, but before I will pass by the lab." she announced and left.
"Wow, did you see that?" Kate was the first to talk after a moment. "Y/n could tell it was Yelena without even looking; do you think she had a superpower or something like that?" she asked, and the older Russian shook her head.
"No, I don't think so, but it's true; it's weird; even Bucky and Steve can't tell when Yelena walks to them, but the strange thing was that she greeted her, but she totally didn't acknowledge us." she said, and Kate chuckled. "What's so funny?" the older redhead asked.
"You're jealous that your sister didn't say 'hi' to you first." She said and quickly left before Natasha could do anything to her.
In the lab, Tony was working when Yelena came. "Hey little spider, how can I help you?" he asked, and your wife rolled her eyes.
"Y/n, said she brought a new toy for Fanny, and she left it here." She said, and Tony pointed to a bag in a corner of the lab. When Yelena opened it, she found not only the toy but also a new vest you brought her with a card. She smiled at herself and texted you to thank you.
Two days later, she was out on a mission with Tony, Steve, and Natasha, and the redhead noticed the change.
"Oh, it's new," she said, and Yelena followed her gaze and looked at her new vest.
"Oh, yes. Y/n brought it to me when she brought the new toy for Fanny," the blonde explained, and your father frowned his eyebrows.
"I know you are close, but I didn’t think it was her thing to bring a gift for her new friend. I think she really likes you." He said, and Yelena smirked. Of course you like her; more than that, you love her, and you promised to spend the rest of your life with her.
When she returned from her mission, she immediately left the compound and made her way to your shared house. There she found you asleep on the couch with the TV on; she knew you waited for her. She turned off the TV and delicately picked you up to your bedroom; after she placed you under the blanket, she took a shower and slid next to you.
The next month, everyone was almost pissed by the fact that you were both oblivious by the way you looked at each other with heart eyes. But today was the day, Pepper was here with Morgan, your dad should come back from a mission with your wife, and you decided to finally tell him.
On their mission, Tony and Yelena found Antonia and Selina, and the blonde invited them into the compound and afterwards to your house for dinner. During the flyback, they didn't hesitate to tease them about you, and that made Tony laugh even if he didn't know who they were talking about.
"Tony, you should have seen her before," Selina started. "She was a badass widow, and now she's so soft. We call her the ‘soft widow’." she said, and Yelena groaned.
"Oh, why do you have this long face, soft widow? Do you miss your wife?" Antonia asked.
"Wait, wife?" Tony asked, visibly shocked.
"Yeah, the soft widow has had a beautiful wife for nearly two years now." Selina announced, and his jaw dropped. But before he could say anything, the jet lent, and the three women ran out. To be true, Antonia and Selina ran for their lives while Yelena chased them.
You were in the kitchen, and everyone was in the living room, when you heard two familiar voices screaming playfully. When they entered the living room, they quickly hid behind the older widow. "Natasha, help us. Softy Widow wants to kill us." Antonia said, and you sighed.
"Who's Softy Widow?" Natasha was clearly confused, but Yelena quickly appeared in front of her, and the two women screamed like little girls, and that made your little sister laugh. Fortunately for them, you walked from the kitchen at the same moment Tony entered the living room.
"Please Y/n calm your crazy wife." Selina said while she was running to you with Antonia. You let them hide behind you, and everyone vanished when you saw Yelena stop in front of you with her disappointed face.
"детка(babe) I love you, but let me kill them just today." She said, and you chuckled.
"Oh, baby girl, you know you can't kill them," you replied. "And they're our witnesses, you'll not kill our witnesses, right?" You added kissing her nose, and she stopped.
You were in your bubble when Natasha and Tony cleared their throats, but before they could say anything, Kate seemed to want to exteriorize her emotion. "What's the hell?!!" she yelled, and you both looked at her.
You smiled awkwardly and looked at everyone. "Surprise? I think." You said. Natasha was furious, Pepper was scared for you, Morgan was surprisingly happy, and your dad was...not there anymore. Tony left without even getting noticed. When you didn't hear him say anything you knew where he was.
"Yelena, what's the hell?" the redhead asked and her sister was now a little scared too.
The blonde looked at you and squeezed your hand "Go find him I'll handle this," she said and you raised your eyebrows at her "don't worry she'll not kill me, but I'm not sure about you." She added and you kissed her before quickly leaving. Now the young widow was facing the rest of the room.
You were in front of the lab, and the doors were closed, pretty uncommon. "Mr. Stark doesn't want to be disturbed." Friday informed you.
"Oh, come on Friday. I really need to talk to him," you pleaded.
"Sorry, MissStark, but even you can't come." The AI said.
"Friday, we both know I know how to open this door with or without your consent. And we both know I can easily hack you to turn you off. So, please." You said, and the AI didn't say anything for a moment. You were sure if she could, she would sighed, but she finally opened the doors, and you rushed in.
Tony was moving some boxes on the big table, he noticed some footsteps but didn't turn around. "Friday, I thought I was clear when I said I didn't want anyone here." He said.
"Um. I think we need to talk." You said, and he finally turned around to look at you.
"Oh, you want to talk now?" he asked sarcastically.
"Listen, I know we should have told you earlier, but we didn't find the right time."
"Since when?"
"What?"
"Since when you two are-? You know."
"Two years soon."
"TWO YEARS?" He yelled, and you flinched. "You didn't find the right time during those two years?". He asked.
"I know it's long, but we both know we couldn't see each other for the last two years." You said, and you started to walk back and forth in the lab. "I know you are angry, but—."
"No!" He cut you off. "I'm not just angry, Y/n. I'm also sad and shocked. It's been nearly two years since my daughter got married, and I didn't know. And what pisses me off the most is that you were not even the one who told me. Why didn't you tell me?"
"I don't know."
"We were used to telling each other everything. How did something like that happen?"
"I know. I think I was scared."
He sighed, and you stopped to look at him. "Did Natasha know?"
"No, we wanted to talk with the both of you. But Pepper knew."
"Pepper?" He repeated, and he scuffed.
"She's my mom."
"Yes, but I'm your dad too, did you forget that? What happened to the little girl that I raised and always made sure she could tell me everything?" He asked and walked out of the room.
"She just grew up." You replied when he passed beside you, and he left without arguing more. You stayed in the lab for an hour; crying alone, when you heard someone come.
"Hey, Yelena said we could find you here." Antonia said. You wiped away your tears before facing her. The two widows looked at you and your pitiful state. Selina didn't say anything and just hugged you. "We're sorry." Antonia said, and you looked at her.
"Oh, no, it's nothing. I think you helped me in a way." You replied and tried to smile. "You both came tonight?" you asked them, and they nodded.
When you left the lab with your two friends, you saw Natasha. She was on the couch, and when you approached her to say your goodbyes, she didn't even acknowledge you. This night, the girls spent the night trying to cheer you up.
The next day, you went to the tower to pick up some files for work. Kate didn't leave your side; she asked you a lot of questions about you and Yelena. It was cute, and you were happy to finally talk about the woman who owned your heart, but right now you needed to talk to someone. So after the questions about your first meeting, and who asked who, you successfully found a way to escape in your dad's lab.
In there, you were surprised to find Natasha and Pepper talking about something that visibly concerned you because they stopped immediately when they saw you.
"Hey sweetheart. I thought you were already at work." Your mom said.
"Hi mom. Hi Natasha. I will go. I just wanted to talk with dad before." You said.
"He was tired from last night, so he should be sleeping right now." Pepper said, and you nodded.
"Okay, bye. I'll see you next week." You added before leaving.
"She looks desperate," Natasha said when you were out of earshot.
"She always was a daddy girl, she spent all her time with Tony. But he doesn't seem to approve of her relationship with your sister, so I think it's the best condition she could be in, actually." The blonde explained.
"But why didn't she tell him anything?"
"She wanted to, trust me. She just waited for the right time. They had planned to announce to you when they'd find a way to reunite you and Tony with them in privacy. But every time you were the three of you together, it was the time she was in San Francisco, and when she moved here, you were a little hostile towards her because your sister was mesmerized by her wife."
"Do you think I scared her?"
"Oh, don't worry, Natasha; she needs more than a shovel talk from an ex-assassin to be scared. But I think she's worried about not being enough for your sister."
You didn't find your dad, and you needed to leave for San Francisco this afternoon for a week; Yelena was out with Antonia and Selina. When you were ready to leave, you texted your wife and your father, even if you knew he wouldn't reply soon.
Two days later, you were with Hope and Cassie on the couch, talking about all that had happened since you left. "Wait, how did you want him to act when he just learned that her daughter got married to an ex-assassin?" Hope asked, and you rolled your eyes.
"Oh, come on, we all know she's not like that anymore." You said.
"Yeah, Softy Widow is totally different with you." Cassie said, and you looked at her confused.
"How do you know this nickname?" You asked.
"She came for a visit last month with Selina and Antonia, and they didn't stop to call her that." The young girl replied.
"You know she would kill you if you call her that in front of her." You replied playfully.
"Oh, come on, she loves me, I'm her best niece." She said with an amusing tone.
"You're technically her only niece," you said, and she rolled her eyes. "So, let's talk about something else. Like how my little Cassie is becoming a delinquent."
"Oh, come on. It was not bad." The young girl said and you chuckled.
"You miniaturized a police car. It's a little bad, but I'm not Scott, so, I'll let it slide." Hope said.
"You're a pretty bad mom, Hope." You said dramatically, and the girls laughed.
You spent the rest of the day talking and laughing with them, and Scott came a few hours later. You were grateful to see him, even if he was not the smartest of all of you, he was the one who always helped you with your family issues.
"Oh, it's a huge problem." Scott said, and you sighed. "I mean, I don't want to take his side, but honestly, if it were Cassie, I would act the same. Listen, you know how much he likes you, it's just a question of time. Let him process the changes and show him how Yelena could be a Softy Widow." he said, and you laughed.
"You really have a death wish in this family." You replied, and he smiled.
"I'm glad to see you smile. And don't worry, she already almost killed me the last time I called her like that, but she's not here." He said, and you laughed. "I have some ideas if you want me to help you," he added.
You were grateful for the time you spent with them; it was fun to see Scott come up with a few things you could do to make up with Tony. When you left at the end of the week, you were sad, but you promised to come with your wife the next time. When your flight landed in New York, you had already missed your time in San Francisco, but you were glad to see your favorite blonde again.
You texted your dad to let him know you were back, and you weren't surprised when he didn't reply. A little upset, you reached your car and started to drive to your home. The ride was pretty cool, and Friday told you that Yelena was required on an emergency mission. Okay, it was not really how you wanted to be greeted, but you knew how it was to be an avenger.
At a red light, you noticed a car that suspiciously followed you. It was not uncommon for some people to follow you when they knew that you were the daughter of Tony Stark. They usually just wanted a photo or to talk about business. At another red light, you took your phone and texted Pepper to let her know that you should be back a little later than expected. When the light turned green, you drove, but you didn’t see the same car speed up in your direction until it was too late.
On the other side of the state, the Avengers were coming back visibly exhausted by their mission when Friday alerted them:
"Mr. Stark, Mrs. Belova, you have an incoming call from Mrs. Pott."
The Avengers exchanged curious looks.
"Take it." Tony said, and the AI did. "Hey Pepper, how are you?" He asked.
"Good, but I need you and Yelena to come here asap." She replied, and everybody was worried because of the little fear in her tone.
"What's happening?" Your father asked.
"It's Y/n. She got involved in a car crash." She successfully mumbled while she was sobbing.
"Where is she?" Yelena asked, clearly worried.
"In the hospital, I'll send you the address." Your mom said. After she sent them the address, the heroes didn't wait to come.
Pepper was waiting for any information, while everyone burst into the hospital. She fell apart in the arms of your father before she tried to comfort your wife. They didn’t have time to sit until a doctor reached them.
“Mr. Stark, Mrs. Pott, I’m happy to see you. Did any of you know who Mrs. Belova is?” they asked.
“It’s me.” Yelena said, and it brought the attention of everybody.
The doctor nodded and gave her a little comforting smile. They took some steps away from the group before they told them about what happened to you and what they were doing in the operating room. After that, they joined the group, who were as worried as them.
“How is she?” Steve asked first.
“They almost finished the operation, so we need to wait.” Pepper informed them.
“But what happened?” Kate asked this time.
“Someone provoked an intentional accident, and she was obviously the target.” Yelena replied, and the group didn’t ask anything else. “She shouldn’t be here.” the blonde mumbled.
“Hey, it’s okay Yelena nobody couldn’t predict that.” Natasha said.
“No, that’s not what I mean. She shouldn’t have taken this trip to San Francisco if YOU’d decided to act like an adult and talk with her.” she said, pointing to Tony.
“What do you mean?” your father asked, visibly angry at your wife’s accusations.
“You know exactly what I mean. If you had taken the time to talk with her, she wouldn't have booked a flight for Hope’s support. If you’d act like a parent and didn’t use this mission to avoid the conversation, she would never take her car and never get here right now.” She explained. “I joined you because she wanted to make sure I could have somebody if something happened to me, but now, because of that, I couldn’t protect her.” Her tears started to fall on her cheeks.
Kate didn’t wait to lead Yelena to the nearest bathroom, leaving the team totally surprised and speechless. Natasha followed the two girls, but not before sending a terrifying glare at Tony. In the bathroom, Yelena was crying while the archer tried to comfort her, even though she knew it was impossible. A few minutes later, Natasha came with a water bottle.
“Hey, take this.” she said while handing the bottle to her little sister. The blonde took it but didn’t say anything. A few seconds passed before the older sister spoke again, “Don’t worry, I’m sure she’ll be alright.”
“I know.” Yelena replied, “But I should be here; I promise to never let anything happen to her. If I didn’t go on this mission, we would be at home right now.”
“If you weren’t there, I could be the one here.” Kate said, and the blonde chuckled.
“You really need to learn how to fight Kate Bishop,” your wife said. She wanted to say something else when she received a text from Hope asking how you were. "Sorry, I need to call Hope.” she said before excusing herself.
A little over an hour later, the doctor came to tell them that the operation was successful, and they transferred you to a private bedroom. And that was where your father and your wife were—only the two of them because the other had plans for the rest of the day.
There was an awkward silence because of the earlier argument. Tony came back after a little trip to the vending machine, and he sat on the second chair near your bed. He took a deep breath, and the woman looked at him. “I’m sorry,” your father said.
“Excuse me?” The Russian asked; she was ready for another argument or sneaky comment, not an apology.
“I’m sorry for how I acted since last week. Hope told me everything you did for her and I thank you for that. I'm truly happy for you, it’s just that we used to tell everything and suddenly I learn that she’s married.” The billionaire said.
“Yeah it’s too much.” The blonde chuckled.
“Yeah that’s it…”
“She wanted to wait for you but somewhere we knew that it may never happen so we did at the moment. But believe me, when I said I never regret this decision. She’s the love of my life, she’s the one who taught me to love properly since the Red Room and just for that I would give her my life even if she’s not ready to do that in return.” Yelena explained.
“We all know that I can give you anything for you, even my life.” You said, and the two of them looked at you. “Hey guys. How are you?” you said with a weak voice.
Tony called a doctor, and only a dew later a nurse and doctor were in your room doing some tests and asked you some questions to be sure everything was alright. They told you what happened and that they will keep you for three more days. In the evening you were in your bed with Yelena cuddling with you because it’s been a while since you were able to see each other.
“So, with my dad? I hope you didn’t strangle him.” You joked.
“I was about to but I know how much you love him so I had to restrain myself.” she replied and you laughed. “I missed it.” she said softly.
“What?” you asked.
“Your laugh. Your smile. You. I miss you.” she replied, and you grinned.
“It’s only been a week, babe,” you said.
“I know, but it was a really long week. I had to support my sister and all her friends, and the pranks of Selina and Antonia.” she said, and you laughed.
“And what does my little drama queen need me to do to make up for this.” you cooed.
“Don’t do that again.” She replied, and you kissed her forehead.
“Okay, next time, I'll bring you with me." You said but she didn’t seem relieved.
“No, I meant don’t scare me like this, I thought I lost you. We both know I would not be able to live in a world without you.” She said, and with her tone, you were sure she was totally serious.
“Don’t worry, my love, I will always be with you no matter what.” You reassured her. “Now let’s sleep because tomorrow everyone will be here and they’ll not give us enough time to sleep.” you said, and she nodded.
“Good night, moya lyubov' (my love),” she said, and she kissed you.
“Good night, my love.” you replied.

PETER PARKER
warning: this is sad, mentions of death
my dog is snoring aaah she's so cute
-
y/n stark didn't shed a tear when tony stark died.
she had been trained to be strong, and that was what she was going to be. so she shut off all of her emotions, burying them so deep down, she was practically numb.
she held herself together and kept a calm face, as she kneeled down in front of her dying father, smiling at him as pepper and peter cried behind her.
"it's okay, dad. i promise you i will take care of them," she had promised, and he had smiled at her weakly, his smile reaching his eyes.
"i'm so proud of you. i'm sorry i never told you that enough."
y/n noted how hard it was for her father to continue talking.
"i love you, y/n. you- you make me so-" tony paused, struggling to breathe. "happy, and-"
tony wheezed again painfully, and y/n shook her head.
"it's okay dad. you can let go."
tony stark took his last breath surrounded by the people who loved him.
at her father's funeral, y/n ignored the emotions that needed to be let out. she ignored how badly she needed to mourn for her father to protect her little sister, and for peter, who she knew was hurting tremendously at losing another father figure in his life.
she talked about her father in front of his friends, and made them laugh, just like tony had told her he wanted.
at hearing the news that natasha was gone, y/n had completely shut off, not wanting to feel the pain of losing her best friend.
she couldn't even feel it when steve left, barely acknowledging the fact her second dad had left her.
instead, she stood by peter and morgan, holding both their hands and being both their shoulders through their pain, never once asking them to be hers.
y/n read morgan bedtime stories, giving her endless hugs, and made her favorite food, attempting the almost impossible task of trying to make her feel better.
she had given pepper space, and then let her talk to her about anything, making pepper laugh even through her tears.
and she had been there for peter. every second of every day.
she was there each time he needed her; sneaking into his room as stealthily as possible and calming his panic attacks, running her fingers through his hair, and whispering things that made all bad thoughts leave his mind.
and through all that, she had not let herself feel an ounce of pain over the loss of her father, much less the rest of her family.
and it weighed on her, all the emotions she wouldn't let come out made her life hard and being happy impossible.
no one noticed, too busy mourning. she didn't mind, it made it easier for her to hide, to be numb.
she held herself together after losing three of the most important people in her life; deciding to push away much it hurt to lose natasha, her sister, who took care of her and was always there for her since y/n was a child. the person who trained her to be the fighter she was.
she ignored the pain of losing steve, who had taught her about the past, comforting her through breakups and baking her awful cookies, being more of a dad that tony was at times.
instead, she filled her mind with plans to distract her family. she taught herself recipes to surprise morgan with, baked poptarts for thor, and worked with bruce, trying her best to make everyone but her happy.
on one of the nights where all the avengers decided to come over, while putting morgan to bed after reading her a story, her phone vibrated with a text from peter; which she didn't need to read to know he was in her room.
she kissed morgan goodnight, and excused herself in the living room where all the avengers were, heading into her room hurriedly.
inside, her already broken heart broke even more at seeing her boyfriend, his eyes brimmed red from tears, and his curly hair messy.
"y/n..." he started, reaching out to her like a child, and y/n ran over to him, wrapping him in her arms tightly, and playing with his curls soothingly.
her squeezed her close, tears running down his freckled cheeks and falling on her shirt.
she gently pushed him on her bed, where he laid down, snuggling his head into her chest as she laid down next to him, embracing him tightly.
"baby..." y/n mumbled, kissing his wet cheeks as he whimpered, his breathing rapid.
"y/n... i- i don't know what to- to do-" peter stammered softly, and y/n shushed him gently, "it's okay, everything's okay," she whispered, trying to convince him as much as herself.
"make it feel better, y/n," peter begged quietly, squeezing y/n's waist impossibly closer to him, and his cries started to grow, his breathing quick.
"breathe, sweetie," y/n said, and peter obeyed, taking deep breaths, his cries starting to calm down.
"don't leave me too," peter said, and y/n gently pushed his face up to look at her, "i won't, baby. i promise."
"i miss him," peter mumbled as y/n peppered his face with soft kisses.
"i know, pete," y/n said, looking into peter's beautiful chocolate brown eyes.
"don't you?" peter asked, and y/n hummed a yes. peter pulled away, his eyes shocked.
"you don't," peter stated, his eyes scanning over y/n.
y/n stared at him in surprise, understanding that he was just in pain. she took a deep breath, keeping the emotions she had shoved deep down down below.
"of course i do, pete-" y/n started softly, before being interrupted by peter.
"bullshit!" peter accused loudly, and y/n winced, hoping the adults in the living room hadn't heard it.
"peter, please calm down-" y/n said, and she jumped back on her bed when peter walked towards her.
"y/n, you didn't even care when he died. he was your father, and you didn't give a shit." peter said, and y/n gulped, taking deep breaths.
"peter, please, you know i-"
"you're an awful daughter, y/n, he would be so disappointed," peter cut her off, and his words stung, hurting her in such a way she could only see red.
"i know, peter! i know he would be disappointed, that's all he's ever been with me since he met you. he was my father. he saved me, from myself, from from the world. he protected me, and although he didn't do a perfect job, he did it." y/n started, emotions from long before finally bubbling up.
"you think i don't care?" y/n asked angrily, standing up and jabbing a finger in peter's chest.
"i loved him. he didn't want me to know, but nobody wanted me to stay because my mother was one of my father's old girlfriends, but my dad kept me anyways. he gave me a life because he believed in me," y/n spat.
she was so angry, she didn't hear her door open.
"he was my dad," y/n repeated, her voice breaking.
"he was my dad and now he's dead. and i miss him every single day. it hurts me to think about him, and i can't ever stop thinking about him because everything reminds me of him!
"he was your mentor, and my sister's dad, and my stepmother's husband, and my best friends' best friend. i'm his daughter! i see him everywhere! i can never not- i can never not see him or think about him. and it makes me want to give up knowing that i will never see him again," she continued, and peter felt awful, realizing he had been so caught up in his own grief, he didn't see her not grieving.
"i lost my whole world, peter. tasha was my best friend, steve was my second father. i am in pain every second of every day, but i have to keep it together for you and morgan, and pepper, and everyone!" y/n exclaimed.
tears were actively flowing down y/n's face, and she shook as she talked.
"i have to deal with the fact that i wasn't enough for tasha or steve to stay," y/n breathed, voice cracking. she tried her best to compose herself. "but i deal with it," y/n said softly.
"you know why i do that, peter? because my father taught me that everyone else is before me. and so i spend my life making sure that everyone else is okay," y/n explained, sighing as she angrily wiped tears from her face.
"i miss him like hell. and it hurts so much," y/n said, breathing deeply.
"because i know if he hadn't been so damn stubborn he would be here and i would be gone and everything would be okay," y/n muttered, and peter's eyes widened.
"and every day, you, and pepper, and morgan remind me it should have been me and not him! and i know that. and i wish every day it had been," y/n finished.
"i know you're hurting peter, we all are, but you have no right- n- no right," y/n mumbled. she turned, surprised to see the avengers outside her door, listening in.
at the broken looks on their faces, she crumpled, her legs giving out as she sobbed into her hands. "i failed," she whispered, "damn it. i'm sorry," she mumbled.
peter had been left feeling both shocked and guilty, and all he wanted to do was go over to her and apologize, but, bucky had picked y/n up from the ground, and thor was standing in front of peter with clint, and they did not have encouraging looks on their faces.
"y/n..." peter mumbled, starting to walk over to the door, but bruce stopped him with a disappointed look as he placed a hand on his chest, "you messed up kid. now you have to pay for it."
y/n had woken up on the couch, her arms wrapped around morgan, who had, at some point, climbed in with her.
y/n smiled at seeing her little sister, and she started running her fingers through morgan's hair, careful to not wake her up.
as memories of the night before flooded in her brain, y/n groaned, sighing in disappointment at herself.
as she looked down at morgan though, tears stung at her eyes, she needed to be strong for her little sister.
she smiled, even as her eyes burned, remembering how excited morgan was to meet her big sister, and how she had clung to y/n after hearing of her dad's death, hugging y/n's leg as if they had known each other for years.
y/n didn't want to feel it, the effects of losing three of the most important people in her life, but if she didn't, after that past night, she was sure the avengers were going to send her to a therapist to deal with her.
she pulled morgan closer to her gently, kissing the top of her head, before slowly laying her down again, covering her little sister with a blanket as she stood.
she stretched quietly, walking over to the kitchen in search of food, deciding on a banana before going to the training room.
y/n was surprised no one had been waiting for her. after last night, she had thought her uncles would be following her closely, just in case she would explode all over again.
she was grateful it wasn't like that, though, and especially so as she exercised in the training room, sweating out her frustrations.
she was distracted, which led her to be surprised when she was suddenly pinned to the wall, and she cursed, realizing who it was almost immediately.
"clint- what the hell?" y/n asked, before reacting, kicking at his leg harshly and making him fall, quickly pinning him down on the floor, and clint smirked.
he tsked, and y/n rolled her eyes, getting off of him and helping him up.
"what the hell was that about?" y/n asked, and clint shrugged, "never be distracted, y/n. not even in your own training room."
y/n huffed, scanning his face, realizing what he was really doing.
y/n squinted at him, "just say it. just say whatever you really want to say, i know that's why you're really here."
clint's face grew serious, and he sighed. "why didn't you tell any of us what you were going through? we would've helped you, you know?"
y/n shrugged, "i know, that's why i didn't. you had your own problems to deal with, and i can deal with mine very well, thank you."
she started to walk off, but clint grabbed her arm. "you shouldn't have to. we're a family, we support each other."
y/n didn't answer, and clint let her go in defeat.
"and you're more than enough, natasha... she was made for this, she was made to save the world," he said, and y/n sniffled.
"it doesn't make it hurt any less," she mumbled, heading for the bags.
it was bucky who came up to her next, while she was watching television in the common room, laughing at her favorite show.
"hey n/n," he said, and y/n had smiled at him, him and her had grown a lot closer, talking about steve and comforting each other during nightmares.
it was strange, the soldier had come into her life, and she had a strange sort of understanding with him, he was the uncle she never knew she needed. there were few exchanges of words, but it was enough, somehow.
"hi buck."
he hadn't beat around the bush, getting straight to the point immediately.
"it's not that you weren't enough y/n. steve, he deserved to be happy, he deserved to be a little selfish. he almost didn't leave because of you. but he knew you were strong- are strong, and he loved you, doll. he really did. you were the daughter he always wanted. he knew you would be okay. he had finished here. he brought me back, he saw you grow up, he saved the world, he just wanted the girl."
y/n froze, "i don't need- comfort, i, i'm good," she managed, and bucky rolled his eyes.
"come on, y/n, i 'm not stupid. and neither are you, you know not to keep things bottled up, let him in," bucky said softly, and y/n felt herself nod.
"okay," she said, surprised at herself.
she was sitting on her bed, watching television with morgan when peter came up to her.
y/n had just been informed morgan was also mad at peter because he 'made her big sister cry,' so it was really no surprise when morgan didn't greet peter like she usually did.
"um, hey morgan, do you mind if i talk to y/n for a little bit?" peter asked gently, but morgan had huffed, ignoring the brunette.
y/n had smiled softly at her little sister, kissing her head. "hey, maguna, i'll be right back okay?"
morgan grabbed onto y/n's hand, but y/n gave her a reassuring smile that made morgan let go, and give peter a stink eye.
y/n led peter out of her room to the hallway, where she stood awkwardly, arms crossed.
"i'm sorry, y/n. i am so sorry, angel," peter started, but y/n wouldn't meet his eyes.
y/n swallowed, "i know, it's okay, you were stressed-" she mumbled, but peter cut her off.
"no, no! it's not okay! i should have noticed you weren't dealing with this, and, and i shouldn't have told you those things. they're not true and they're awful, and, i'm so sorry, y/n," peter exclaimed, and y/n finally looked up at him, her eyes wide.
"i appreciate you so much, everything you've done for me, and now it's my turn. i'm here for you, y/n. let me be here for you," peter begged, taking a step closer to his girlfriend.
"you lost your whole world, let me help you," peter whispered, bringing the girl closer to him the same way she had done to him.
y/n melted against him against her own will, hugging him back.
"you made me feel really awful, pete, please- please don't do that. because if you do, you know maguna and i won't be as forgiving."
