Like there's a million slightly different versions of him living in heads and hearts of the fans. He's ALL our Arthurs. I haven't really seen many other games where players treat The Character like this, outside of, ya know bioware/Bethesda Create the Character games. Idk but I really, really love it.

I really don't think we talk enough about how fourteen years (estimated age for Charles is 27, he's stated he was 13 when he left home) of isolation and surviving on his own FUCKED Charles' social skills.

Like I see so many fics where for some reason he gets painted as the emotionally well adjusted one between himself and Arthur. I'm not saying he's not better than Arthur about keeping a clear head about his own sense of self and desires instead of letting them get mixed up with what other people want from him, like Arthur does. But. Fucks sake. That is a dude who will ghost you before talking about how you hurt his feelings, right there. Zero conflict management skills.

Meanwhile, Arthur grew up in a large family and is constantly serving as a mediator to the rest of the gang. And yet so many of the fics I've seen paint him as painfully incompetent at even basic social skills, which simply isn't accurate. He's coarse and has a temper, but he's still Dutch and Hosea's protege.

Lets see more of Charles being the messy one in their relationship. He's an incredible character with a lot going on internally, and I'm sick of seeing him used as the emotional support blanket for a man almost a decade his senior who is, frankly, better at interacting with other people than he is.

I think one of the most unrealistic parts of RDR2 is how good all of the gang’s seats on horseback are with how high their hands are, no heels down, and how slouched a lot of them are.

For the non horsey people, your balance comes from a good base—sitting straight, hands down so as not to balance on the reins and therefore the horse’s mouth and heels down to distribute weight evenly, keep your feet from slipping in the stirrups, and so on and so forth. There is NO way Arthur’s sitting trot is that beautiful and motionless as he’s hunched over and his heels are neutral, meaning he’s either gripping tight elsewhere in his body or feels like he’s on a rollercoaster. Probably both.

I still sometimes struggle to sit the trot comfortably with everything done right. Not meaning to go on a horse girl rant, but I was just watching their forms because I was teaching today, and proper form was on my mind. And my god, do they ride like “cowboys” (derogatory) (by “cowboys”, I mean the older guys you get that insist they do everything right and don’t listen to studies like the 20% rule or…not mounting from the ground to protect the horse’s spine.) So, I was nosing around the gang's tents and I thought that it was honestly so sweet that so many of them have photographs of themselves or of family right?

Dutch actually writes notes for his famous camp speeches.

And if you've seen the speech that these notes are referring to, Dutch seemed to simplify it a lot when he recited it, almost dumbing it down for the gang entirely?

Writing notes for an important speech isn't the strange part, but the fact he dumbs them down and that these notes are hidden/thrown away out of sight is really strange to me. It makes me think that this is possibly a rough draft or early version of what he wanted the speech to be, sort of implying that Dutch practices and revises his speeches.

Which, if he ultimately dumbs them down for the gang, then what is the point?

The likely answer is that he holds himself to a higher standard because he feels he's above the gang members, in a way. He's the visionary, the leader, the man in charge, the one who reads philosophy books almost exclusively, to say that Dutch didn't think highly of himself would be a lie. And because the gang is 'below' him, he simplifies his speeches for them - despite majority of the gang being well educated and understanding. He doesn't think that the gang is as intellectual as him.

I made a post previously talking about Dutch and his Evelyn Miller philosophies and how he argues with gang members that don't agree or understand. It's especially interesting how Lenny, also an avid reader, disagrees so strongly with Miller's writings when that's what most of Dutch's philosophies are based on.

It solidifies that Dutch was manipulative from the beginning, and probably long before too.

I’m not a Micah apologist, but…

I think, all concern aside, Micah is an incredibly interesting character, and I’m honestly disappointed that we didn’t get to learn more about what’s going on in his head.

He doesn’t really talk about himself, not beyond the obvious. The only reason we know of his family is because of the letter Amos sent him.

He’s afraid of being vulnerable, and talking about his past leaves him exactly that: vulnerable.

The less people know about who he is, what makes him who he is, and why he acts the way he does; the less people can hurt him for it.

He knows he’s disliked. He’s lonely. He usually doesn’t hang around the campfire while the others are awake. He’s elsewhere, at the outskirts. When there’s a party, he seems to wander even further away, as if he’s trying to resist the human instinct to be in the company of others.

“Well, I… I want a friend, Arthur. I want hope. I want tomorrow to mean more than today. I want this whole damn shitshow… to have some kind of meaning…”

He knew that everything they did only made their situation get worse.

I don’t think he was much of a rat before Guarma.

I think he was desperate for some kind of consistency. He tried to get along with Arthur early on in the game, but quickly realised that it was leading to nothing.

No one is pure evil, no one is born that way anyhow, but being raised by a hateful person is bound to shape you into someone with just the same hatred and rage.

This is obviously a generational issue, this Micah isn’t a first case, he’s the third of his kind, and I can well imagine that with every generation the expectations got higher and the acts more grotesque.

He’s been groomed no matter how you look at it. Some people manage to develop their own will and step out, like Amos did, and others stick around with what they know, like Micah did.

He doesn’t know how to put that gun aside, he never had to. He was never taught how to.

He sticks to what he knows.

And he doesn’t know love. He doesn’t know empathy and mercy.

He knows anger, he takes comfort in rage.

He knows violence, and taking revenge on every little thing that dared to hurt him.

We never quite find out what he wants vengeance for.

Does he suck? Yes. Am I excusing his behaviour? No.

Am I still obsessed with his personality and feel the need to dissect his brain to find out about every tiny thought and doubt that’s hiding away in there? Yes.

You know what makes me really really sad,

Not the fact how everyone treated tony stark, not the fact he died when he finally had a family for a world that never loved, not the fact that everyone misunderstand him and recognise him from his past mistakes, but just the fact that-

Morgan had the best dad ever but only for 5 years and now she doesn't have the person she used to love 3000x. This hits more when we know Tony's dad was abusive and neglectful towards him and how much he didn't want to end up like him. The same playboy who now so desperately wanted a kid with pepper and was begging her for it.

He was great, best even, at many many things, tony stark, but you know what his greatest success was- being the best dad to Morgan, Peter and Harley.

And now Morgan's without a dad. You can tell she was a daddy's girl through and through and will probably be as smart as tony, but she doesn't have her dad.

This pains me way more than Tony's death itself.

One claim I often see Tony fans making is that Steve was being selfish for not "considering children born during the Snap" in the team's desire to bring everybody back.

This is obviously a form of emotional blackmail After all- how could *anybody* want to erase *billions* of children?

Well, this claim is wrong for a number of reasons

1: There is no evidence of large-scale births or an increasing birth rate during the Snap. Tony fans often say that there must have been millions and milions of children born during the Snap, but this makes no sense because, as a general rule humans do not simply "get over" losing their entire family an "move on".

Even losing one child can be an emotional blow that person never recovers from. Clint Barton lost all 3 of his children, and we know he did not simply "move on" and start a new family.

People do not simply recover from such things in a few years and create new families. It almost never happens.

Furthermore, population dynamics come to play: some planets lost as much as 3/4 of their population due to Thanos pre-Snap genocides.

Even for those who lost "only" half though this would mean half of all birthing females and existing children snapped.

Fewer birthing females means..... a lower birth rate. Also take account of things like infertility and the fact that some women who lost thier children would have been beyond childbearing age: notable case - Queen Ramonda.

Even assuming people were interested in relationships and reproduction (and most were not) the birth rate during the Snap would have been expontentially lower then it was before.

Real life disasters and catastrophes also reveal that it takes a long time for the population to recover. The Black Death killed 1/3 to 1/2 of the population of Europe in the Middle Ages- and it took something along the lines of 3 to 4 centuries for the population to reach the level that it had been before the plague struck.

Literally: it can take HUNDREDS of years for the population to recover. The idea that the world would have returned to normal after only 5 years is ludicrous.

2: The children killed by the Snap.

Half of the human race were snapped. This would have included children. Potentially hundeds of millions of children were killed by the Snap. This is far more than the number who who have been born during the Snap.

There's another issue however: many children would have died after the Snap.

Sick children whose parents or doctors were snapped and were unable to get the medical treatment they needed

Young children whose parents were snapped would have died within a few days if nobody found them.

Children in poorer countries would have been the first to succumb to things like famines and food shortages caused by the Snap.

However, children in rich countries would have followed. Food shortages and the breakdown of intractructure would have caused problems witht the availability of food and medical supplies. Diseases would have become more common without the medicines to keep them in check, and poor sanitation.

In other words, potentiallly hundreds of millions more children would have died after the Snap in addition to those who had been Snappped.

None of those children would have been bought back by Bruce's Snap in Endgame. They would have stayed dead. All because of Tony's selfish insistence that he "didn't change anything from the last 5 years".

So, no matter how Tony fans want to try and twist things: Tony Stark was quite prepared to sacrifice *hundreds of millions* if not billions of children for the sake of his desire to preserve his personal paradise.

He did not, in fact, "save everybody" at all. He saved only those bought back after the Snap and ... not really even them as they had to contend with years of social and economic problems.

You know what the most interesting irony of it all is though? Tony fucked over all those people for nothing. Pepper was already pregnant before the Snap, so reversing it would not have erased Morgan anyway.

jj and hotch's characters have crazy charisma stats and she always tries to convince him to flirt with npcs and by the end of the campaign they're fighting for the affections of this random companion npc

derek and gideon have pretty good fighter builds but don't really gaf about the social aspects of their characters so they both fail miserably every time they try and convince someone of something and it's always somehow derek's fault
