This month's prompt was something different - a little longer than could fit on my graphic too! - but so much fun. Chosen by L’poni Baldwin, the full prompt included a video to give more inspiration.

What would your character do if they could flee to any world in their universe? Would they make it their new vacation home? Try to take over? The decision and story can be based around their motivation. Perhaps your characters need a vacation. Or Your character is thrown into the worst possibly world in their universe. Is it a planet of eldritch creatures? A planet full of natural disasters where only perseverance can help you live? Or is it a planetwide manifestation of their nightmares? This video can be used for making up any new planets or using these planets.

I ended up paraphrasing it for my graphic, but I never would have written anything along these lines if not for L’poni’s original prompt. Such an interesting experiment for me to play around with, and as Josh and L’poni said, lots of Star Wars ideas that I may throw into fanfiction? We'll see how that goes.

WHAT'S THE PLAN FOR JANUARY?

Hiya fiends!

I've got a lot of stories to write in 2024, so I thought I'd share a little plan with you each month. This way, you'll know what I'm working on (and when you can expect new stuff)... and it will (hopefully) keep me motivated and on schedule. We'll see if this method actually works! 

Here's my plan for January:

1. Write and publish Ko-Fi Author Avengers January prompt (I'm about a third of the way through at the moment).

2. Write and publish Episode 6 of Morga Skullsplitter (I've missed my orc friend after this short break. It'll be cool to see what she's up to!).

3. Continue writing "The Gathering at the Gallows" (I'd love to say I'll finish it this month, but I don't want to try to do TOO much. We'll see what happens!)

How's it going?

You may have noticed that things look a little different since the last email (unless you're new... in which case, WELCOME!!!). I decided it was time for a change, so I've switched to SendFox to manage my mailing list. I used SendFox a few years ago, but stopped when I realised it was missing a few features I desired. Now that those features (and more) have been added, it's time to return!

One of features is a cool referral link thing. --- details on this are only available in the newsletter. Mainly because I can't work out how to make it work here.

Do I know it's Christmastime?

Well, yes. But, I don't have anything festive to share with you... What I do have is a FREE episode of my serialised web novel for you to read... and a BUNCH of free (and cheap) eBooks. Read on to get all the goodies!

Anyway, I'm gonna get on with the newsletter now. Fair warning: This one is pretty long! Next year, my resolution is to keep these newsletters short and sweet...

The Gathering at the Gallows

As mentioned above, the next Morga episode will be a little later than planned because I'm working on (yet another) project! This is a goblin-flavoured tale that features Glintsprock (everybody's favourite frog player), magic (well, duh!), mayhem (also, duh!), and executions! Fun, fun, fun! The plan is to have this little story ready for human consumption in January.

Plans and schemes for 2024

Hiya fiends!

As 2024's shadow is looming over us, I thought I'd share my plans for the next 12 months. (I've also posted this on my Ko-Fi page. Please feel free to read it there if you'd prefer.)

The Adventures of Morga Skullsplitter

🖋️New episodes - my plan is to write and publish at least 12 episodes.

🖋️Finish the first main story arc - This web series will be made up of several story arcs, and I'd like to be able to finish the first main one during the next 12 months.

📗Publish the first paperback and eBook volume (collecting the episodes of the first arc)

🎧Record some audio episodes!

Glintsprock's Quest

🖋️Write and publish "The Gathering at the Gallows". I've already written a large part of the draft for this, and it's shaping up to be a really fun story.

🖋️Write and publish the Glintsprock story for the January prompt in the Ko-Fi Author Avengers.

🖋️Write "Goblins and Mobsters" (novel)

👀Edit "Glintsprock’s Quest: The Search for the Skrillbrat Sasquatch" (novella)

🎧Record an audio version of "Mirror Mirror" and "A Winternight Reunion".

The Volkdrow Chronicles

🖋️ Write Book 2 of "The Volkdrow Chronicles". It will be wonderful if I can also edit and publish it in 2024, but I know how long Book 1 took, so I'm going to be kind to myself and not stick a deadline on it.

🖋️ Take part in as many monthly writing prompts as possible. 

📢 Promote the Discord and welcome as many new members as we can!
