For the ask game >:3 ✂️❤️
🎨 I know you have OC’s but I know embarrassingly little for being a mutual this long. Hand them over rook :)
Edit: I forgot to say hi 😭 sorry I saw you mentioned OCs and literally just. mind blank got the zoomies started stimming forgot my manners. Anyways
Hello Oli :DDD
One thing I would change: I mean. I would rewrite a lot of the series but mainly I would wanna give Nya a more prominent and starring role early on. Let her have more Samurai X moments and quit putting her on the sidelines while the boys do things!!
Favorite ship? Canonically Pixane ngl. I love Jaya but Pixane is soulmate coded for me I break Jaya up at the drop of a hat for funsies I feel bad breaking up Pixane.
Do I have OCs? You're goddamn right I do I have wayyyyyy too many. I'm working on character sheets for the main ones now but until those are uploaded have a taste!
Nataly Chumsworth: Master of Love, half Serpentine, menace to society. If the name did not clue you in she's Pythor's daughter and they have. A relationship.
Roxie Andrews: Master of Peace, local stressed out mom friend, former student at Marty Oppenheimer's! Old friend of Cole's and someone i imagine Nya being besties with.
Jasmine Bucket/Julien: Master of Nature (secondary: Ice), engineer at Borg Industries, made before Bolobo I swear. Zane's half sister but neither has any clue about that yet
Jackie Fei: Master of Magic (I have a whole system set up for this), chronically tired and depressed but gets to have a glow-up, chaotic good incarnate. My favoritest little blorbo ngl
Hannah Stone: Master of Music (different from sound and again swear she was pre-S4), punk rock girl, Chen's former... student is not the right term. Embodiment of that one audio: "they got their weapon, I got cheated out of my childhood)
Kyle Stone: not an elemental master but a former member of Chen's cult kinda (born into it), instead of masking his trauma with anger like Hannah he masks it with bubbliness, chronic overprotective disease. He and Hannah aren't blood related but they're also the closest thing to family each other has
Master Twyla: Master of Light, the teacher of these fucking kids, trying her best to keep the memory of the former EMs alive. Bops her on the head this bad girl can fit soooooo much trauma she's trying to overcome in her, goddamn
Ivy Crest: Master of Wind except not fully until S5 (thanks Morro), Morro's bio daughter and Ronin's adopted daughter (bet you can't guess who she prefers), expert in forgery and shit at mechanics. She and Nya form a close bond in S5 and Nya continues to try and teach her mechanical stuff (it does not work)
Luna McCallister/Garmadon: Master of Dreams, long lost Garmadon daughter who?, big fucking nerd. I have no idea when she and Lloyd realize their related but it makes their interactions at the comic store beforehand a lot funnier (for reference: she is about 2 years older than him)
Jonathan Borg: heir to Borg Industries, curious about the supernatural elements of Ninjago, knows about something he probably shouldn't. His place is not fully figured out yet but I feel like he's gonna start wanting to prove more useful after S7 to mixed results, esp bc his sister is way cooler than him
Willow Whispernight: yeah check back later chief I am reworking her ENTIRE lore lmao. Currently also connected with nature in some way and Jasmine's step-sister
Ahahaha that isn't even all of them. it's been over a decade I am soooo normal. I do not have *checks notes* approximately 20 OCs, named and unnamed, with various places in stories and development

‘John Wick 4’ Star Hiroyuki Sanada Teases His FX Series ‘Shogun,’ His First as a Lead: ‘I Feel Reborn’
Link to the article (x)
Japan’s Hiroyuki Sanada has become one of Hollywood’s most familiar Asian actors, with action roles in franchises like “Mortal Kombat,” “Avengers: Endgame” and now “John Wick 4,” as well as nuanced character turns in “Minamata” and “The Railway Man.”
“John Wick” star Keanu Reeves and director Chad Stahelski created a role especially for Sanada so that he could join the action-packed universe. But it is the upcoming “Shogun” series for FX and Hulu that has given the Hollywood-based Sanada a new calling.
What do you like most about your part in ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’?
There’s a scene between John Wick and my character Shimazu Koji, up on the roof top where the two old friends are drinking whiskey. Just talking. Talking, not fighting. That’s a very rare thing in this movie. It created atmosphere and established their chemistry.
As an action franchise, “John Wick” is pretty intense. Were you ready for that?
Before he created “John Wick” and at the end of “47 Ronin” [in which Reeves and Sanada co-starred] Keanu told me that his next project was a big action movie with Chad [Stahelski]. I said “good luck” and watched the whole series in the movie theater. Finally, Chad called me and said he’d created a role for me, as an old friend of John Wick. I was so excited, this time I said, “I’ll see you on set.” It was a quick decision. I’d been following all of Keanu’s jobs. And I was really happy to be reunited with Keanu and Chad, the stunt guys and the choreographer. It was like a dream come true.
As a Japanese actor in Hollywood, do you have to audition much?
These days, luckily, I mostly get offered roles. But, of course, for many years before that I had to audition. Lately, I read the script, talk with the director and if we see that we have the same goals, I’ll jump in.
I think I used to be a workaholic, especially when I was living in Japan. No official holidays in the year, working almost every day. I loved it. But when I moved to L.A. in 2005, it was harder for me to get roles. And I had more free time. It had never happened before. But I also realized that I needed that time, because working in the U.S. was much harder than working in Japanese in Japan. I started taking English lessons, then doing auditions and lots of meetings. I had to concentrate. I was tense. So, I needed the relaxing time in between and have now found a good work-life balance. I have an exciting job and a peaceful life. California is perfect for me. It has cities, great restaurants, the ocean and mountains. Plus, there is a big entertainment industry here.
Many of the roles you’ve taken — “Minamata,” “The Railway Man,” “Bullet Train” — speak about Japanese culture — but are not necessarily made by Japanese filmmakers. Do you worry that they are inaccurate or they’re Western-skewed interpretations of Japanese society?
Some themes are considered too sensitive or delicate that Japanese filmmakers will not touch them. In that case, if it is an important theme, having a Western filmmaker do it is welcome. I say, “Thank you for making this movie and bringing the story to the world.” I always take this stance. But if they are getting things culturally incorrect, then I have to say something. I have to fix it. I’ve found directors and producers have always listened respectfully to my suggestions and that has never been awkward on set. In “Minamata” [where the subject is an industrial-scale poisoning] the director [Andrew Levitas] asked me to consult on the set design and the costumes of the extras. I was on set every day, often before the director, checking things. I didn’t have any official title, but they listened to me. Since then, I’ve been doing that for every movie. And, last year, finally, I got the title of the producer of a show.
You are referring to “Shogun” — a series based on another Western-written book about Japan — in which you play feudal Lord Toranaga
Yes. I discussed these things a lot with Justin Marks [co-writer and executive producer] about how to make it work for today’s audiences and still be authentic. But, for the first time I had the right, officially, to say something. We hired Japanese cast and crew, who have a long career in samurai movies. Costumers, wig specialists and set designers. On “Shogun,” I had a team. Before that, I was always just one person struggling with this responsibility on my shoulders. That said, I really enjoyed it. Making better movies is my dream. Now finally, after 20 years [in the U.S.], I’ve got the title and the team. It is a big step for me. First time as a producer, first time as a leading man in a Hollywood show. I feel reborn. And I hope that there will be more occasions when I can be actor or producer, or both.
How is the production of “Shogun” going?
It went well. It was so dramatic and meaningful. Everyone understood that we were taking on a big, big challenge. But it was worth working hard to create the future. It was a great feeling: East meets West without any walls between us.
Although they operate on different scales, are there things that Hollywood can learn from the Japanese film industry?
The styles are a little different. And it is true that Japanese movies have almost no budget. So, we have to calculate and schedule everything very tightly. I don’t know if that is a good thing or not. Having a highly skilled crew certainly is. I’d like to see more mix between East and West. Bigger budgets, protected by unions, but also working to a schedule.
What are your plans going forward?
After finishing the post-production of “Shogun”, I will join my next project in June or July. A movie, but I cannot disclose the title just yet. I won’t be producer on that, but I plan to produce again in the future.
I mean, this is what Sanada truly deserves; being a leading man in Hollywood. he has more than enough experience, gravitas, and talent to do so, and I am stoked and extremely exhilarated (to an almost unparalleled extent) to see how Shogun unfolds. I finished reading the book while ago, and it is an excellent piece of literature, and Lord Toranaga is such a complex, intricate, multifaceted protagonist.

REVIEW
Ashes Never Lie by Lee Goldberg
Sharpe & Walker #2
Fires, fraud, and the FBI cause issues for Sharpe and Walker as they  work on cases that see their team working with the Eve and Duncan of the Eve Ronin series ~ Enjoyed this one!
What I liked:
* The setting that took me back to places I remember from the first two decades of my life in Southern California
* The intersection of the two Goldberg series and catching up with the main characters of both
* The way Walker and Eve worked together with their senior partners to solve more than one murder and arson case
* Learning more about fires, how fires are started, how arson investigators do their jobs, and what motivates a few types of criminal behavior
* The dynamics between the characters – the respect they have for one another, their communication, and their jokes
* That the married main characters are well grounded and love their spouses
* That the story made me think, I cared about the outcome, and was invested in the story
* The plot, pacing, setting, and writing
* That I smiled from time to time
* The police procedural aspects of the story
* That the bad guys were revealed and dealt with by the end of the book
* Knowing that there will be more books in the series to look forward to
What I didn’t like: * Who and what I was meant not to like
* Thinking about how different some people’s minds be to do the things that some of the characters in this book thought were okay to do
Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more by this author/in this series? Yes
Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for the ARC – This is my honest review.
4-5 Stars
BLURB
The secrets hidden in smoldering ashes hold the fate of a city in an explosive thriller by #1 New York Times bestselling author Lee Goldberg. Vacant homes in a new housing development are erupting into flames in broad daylight with no apparent cause. It’s a perplexing mystery for dogged arson investigator Walter Sharpe and his restless new partner, Andrew Walker, an ex–US marshal who craves action. But as they puzzle over the blazes, another home miles away burns to the ground, leaving a man’s corpse in the ashes and homicide detectives Eve Ronin and Duncan Pavone demanding answers. The burn patterns and charred body tell Sharpe a bizarre story that only creates more questions for Eve. So the four detectives team up to find the answers. Their investigation into the two unrelated cases leads to one shocking discovery after another. Now they must gamble their lives to unmask a brilliant arsonist, crack open a massive swindle, track down a desperate fugitive with a terrifying secret, and race against time to save thousands of people from an agonizing death.

Pitch for a Hawkeye sequel miniseries:
Main Story:
On Earth-4444, S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Hawkeye and Black Widow (who both have masks on) track down the notorious vigilante known as “Ronin” to Stark Industries. During the middle of their fight, Clint accidentally activates one of Tony’s prototypes, which sends him and Ronin into the MCU.
That’s when we see that something is...off about Hawkeye. The moment Earth-4444 Hawkeye removes his mask, we see that it’s not Jeremy Renner. Instead, it’s “Agents of SHIELD” alumni Iain De Caestecker. In order to make it back home and stop Ronin, 4444-Hawkeye tracks down his MCU counterparts.
The rest of the miniseries is a buddycop dramedy centered around the three Hawkeyes (Clint 1, Clint 2, and Kate Bishop) trying to stop Ronin and finding a way to send Clint 2 back to his own universe.
Other Notes:
1) The main theme of this season of “Hawkeye” is a deep dive into Clint Barton as a character. Compared to MCU Clint, 4444-Clint is supposed to represent the 616 counterpart (womanizer, human disaster, constantly joking around, etc.). What we end up learning is that, despite the huge differences in personality, MCU Clint is a lot more like 4444-Clint than he thinks. It’s the fact that MCU Clint is incredibly traumatized and has a family that he turned out very different than 4444-Clint and 616-Clint.
2) Ronin is an original character but is played by Scarlett Johansson. So, Ronin is supposed to be more of a symbolic villain in that MCU Clint has to fight someone who has MCU Natasha’s face.
3) Iain’s casting here is intentional. It’s to establish that certain people in other universes can look different (ex.: Tobey, Andrew, Tom are all Peter Parker).
4) Leo Fitz is referenced at least once in the miniseries. MCU Clint points out that 4444-Clint looks like a former colleague of his who has since retired and settled down (this revelation can also work as a tie-in to MCU Clint Barton’s character arc).
5) In case if it isn’t obvious, 4444-Natasha Romanoff is played by Elizabeth Henstridge as an obvious reference to “Agents of SHIELD”. So, imagine Jemma Simmons but with red hair. She only appears twice in the miniseries; once in the beginning and then at the end when 4444-Clint returns to his universe.
6) Just for fun, since Renner Clint has the modern Hawkeye costume, imagine Iain Clint using the classic Hawkeye costume (the one with the H on the forehead).

it’s three am and I should I be asleep but today is the ten year anniversary of Ninjago and I’m just... so so so happy and full of genuine joy. Ninjago is the reason I joined tumblr (even if I’m more atla now, I will always be Ninjago at my core), Ninjago is the reason I began to write as much as I do now, Ninjago helped me realize third person was my writing strong suite. Ninjago is... so much to me. I was there in 2011 when it started and I remember all of the raw emotions I felt watching the show.
Finding out Lloyd was the green ninja. The ninja getting younger and Lloyd growing older. Crying at the season two finale when Lloyd broke his leg and the rest of his team got hit and turned evil. I remember being devestated when Zane died. And being so happy when he came back. I vividly remember being in the car to Dairy Queen when I was in eighth grade when I first found out Cole became a ghost and I remember watching season five in other languages on YouTube just to see what happened.
I remember sitting on my bed crying over The Last Resort. I remember the fandom screaming when Maya and Ray entered the picture and when Lloyd said “Twins look alike”. I remember everyone guessing who Samurai X would be and who the baby was. I remember episode 92 of Ninjago when Harumi died and I remember saying “the resistance never quits” and feeling such power and confidence in myself. I remember crying when Cole fell— not just because he’s my favorite character, but also because Ninjago handled that scene so well. I remember learning the scene when Lloyd finds out Cole fell in asl and rewatching that scene at least twenty times a day. I remember telling my math teacher that episode 98 of Ninjago would be live-streamed during her class (senior year of high school) and that I had to watch it because I have been so mentally distraught about the fall all week and her kids loved the show too so she let me and I actually cried in class when Lloyd “died”.
I remember learning about Ninjago anime through tumblr. I remember screeching when Cole had the nightmares about falling and when Zane was the Ice Emperor. I remember getting so excited when I found out Scott and FugiDove were voiced by Adrian Petriw and that Cole fell once more. I remember season thirteen coming out and crying again because Cole finally has a season and it was so freaking good. I remember learning that Kirby Morrow died on November 19th, 2020.
I remember a family. I remember a passion. I remember the home I never felt like I had. I remember the true potential episodes. “I know who I am”, “you are the best you”, “I’m proud of who I am and I want you to be proud too”, “I knew when I had to make a choice”. I remember “we are so hooped”.
I remember love and heartbreak, tears and joy. I remember that the best way to defeat your enemy is to make them your friend. I remember bequeath. I remember “this isn’t about numbers, it’s about family!”. I remember Jay essentially telling Cole that his feelings for him are stronger than his feelings for his girlfriend. I remember “Chen can try his best to split up our team, but he’s about to find out what happens when we put ourselves back together”. I remember that as iron sharpens iron, brother sharpens brother. I will always remember the iconic “that was anticlimactic” from Kai.
I remember “save me, Jay Walker. There’s gonna be a wedding and I want you to do something about it”. I remember that if you want soenhnjng bad enough, you find a way to make it happen. I remember Day of the Departed and how kind Cole was to Yang, how he regained his mortality and was left with his scar. I remember Cole’s relationship with Wu, how close of a bond they had. I remember getting literal chills from Britt McKillip singing “spider’s in the house, sleep, sleep. Spider bit the mouse, sleep deep. Don’t wake up or else you’ll find a spider in your mouth”. I remember laughing so hard when Cole was singing as Rock Dangerbuff. I remember Jay going mad in the realm of Oni and Dragon. I remember seeing the bones of the Ultra Dragon. I remember being so excited to see the elemental masters (and Darreth) again. I remember “there’s more to life than surviving!”.
I remember being so happy to learn that s11-13 were going to happen. I remember Vex and Akita, Unagami and Scott, The Skull Sorcerer and Vania (the Geckles and Munce). I remember Lilly. I remember.
I remember Ninjago, a show that means more to me than I can fit into words. I remember a silly television show that changed my entire life. I remember characters who brought me joy when no one else could.
So I thank Cole, Kai, Jay, Zane, Lloyd, Nya, Pixal, Skylor, Garmadon, Wu (sometimes— if he’s not hiding stuff😂), Misako, Darreth, Ronin, Pythor, the other Elemental Masters, Cyrus Borg, Dr. Julien, Lou, Ray and Maya, Ed and Edna (I love them), Morro, Harumi, The Overlord, Mystake, Faith, and so many other characters.
Thank you, Kirby Morrow, Vincent Tong, Brent Miller, Michael Adamthwaite, Kelly Metzger, Jillian Michaels, Sam Vincent, Paul / Michael / Brian Dobson, Mark Oliver, Kathleen Barr, Jennifer Hayward, Heather Doerksen, Alan Marriott, Andrew Francis, Ian James Corlett, Britt McKillip, Scott McNeil, Tabitha St Germain, Lee Tockar, and so so so many others.
To Dan and Kevin Hageman, Tommy Andreasen, The Fold: thank you so much.

My list of Little Witch Academia headcanons (Part 2):
Akko's determination, coupled with her innate gift of archery through her demonstrations of Shiny Arc ability and being much clever than she let on, is partly because of her related to an obscure yet formidable samurai family notorious for their resourcefulness, exquisite archery techniques, and survival skills. Said family had everything they need to be so much more, but chose to stay nobodies as they preferred to live in solitude throughout Warring State Period, thus fared much better than their rivals upon being reduced into a band or ronin following the death of their daimyo when they eventually involved in the same conflict. Additionally, Akko is regarded as the prodigy when it comes about archery techniques her family passed down throughout generations and secretly worries that she cannot live up to her family's prestige at times, the latter fact which further enabled her to relate with Diana.
Related to the fact of demonic faery/spirit inside her stomach being explicitly tied to Holodomor, the man-made famine that starved millions of Ukrainians from 1932 to 1933, Jasminka may live at Ukraine and that her family happened to be among survivors of such terrible historical period.
Through their greater affinity with spirits and faeries alike and the ability to synchronize their magic with their better compared to other magical families, it's implied that Jansson family might be descended from, if not simply related to either an ancient clan of Celtic druids or more likely, a lesser member of Tuatha de Danann (a tribe of Celtic deities that used to rule Ireland) who moved to Finland and intermingled with magical families there.
Known to selected few, Paul Hanbrige is not just an Earl, but also the veteran member of a diplomatic and intelligence agency tasked to contain mystical threats. Unlike its associate Appleton Academy, the agency has a better relationship with people of magic community, often consulting with trustworthy witches and wizards to better understand threats the latter better familiar with. It is something Andrew admired from his father beside being an accomplished statesman, leading him aspired to become the member of the same agency. Unfortunately for him, upon becoming one of the agency's senior members, Andrew found himself taking comically incompetent trainees under his wings.

Long fics rec post is long
What better way to while away the time than fanfiction? Long fanfiction! And when I say long, I mean long, like so long it is three novels put together, how on earth did you find time to write this, so long it takes even me more than one day to read long. I'm irrationally jealous of all of these writers, as I am the type of writer who has a hard time dashing off 10,000 words in a timely fashion, let alone writing anything longer.
I'm using the SFWA's definition of a novel here, which is anythiing over 40,000 words.
These are all stories I've loved, and most of them I've actually got saved as PDFs so I can re-read them wherever I want. I'm digging pretty deep into the archives for this one, kids, so hold onto your hats.
Fandoms: Avengers/Marvel, Firefly, Inception, Leverage, Merlin, Stargate Atlantis, Star Trek AOS, Supernatural, Torchwood
Fandom: Avengers/MCU/Marvel/Whatever we're calling it these days
in deep with you darling by topaz Author's Summary: Darcy could have, under normal circumstances, resisted the aesthetics (however awesome they are, and holy crap are they awesome), but there's an itch under her skin—apparently, nearly dying by giant, fire-breathing robots from space in the middle of Nowhere, New Mexico will start you questioning your life choices. Who knew? Main Pairing: Clint/Darcy Words: 48024
runaways are running the night by anothercover Author's Summary: Clint did like that the photo stayed private. He’s shit at social media, only on it because, you know, he has to be, but even Clint knew it was the kind of candid that was Instagrammable - #queen, #legend, #rawmemama, etcetera, ad nauseam, he’s pretty sure he could predict the comments before anyone actually typed them. (Bucky once said “raw me, mama?” to her with a goddamn straight face and Natasha’s expression of abject horror while she tried to work out if he meant it had made Clint laugh so fucking hard he was certain he’d ripped an organ in half. He still wants to find a way to work that story into his act, because on the one hand, people love it when he talks about his marriage, but it’s hard to find a way into it that doesn’t sound like he’s making fun of their fans, and that’s a big no-go.) AU: Natasha's in a band, Clint is basically John Mulaney, it's great Main Pairing: Clint/Natasha/Bucky Words: 53873
Ready, Fire, Aim 'Verse by gyzym Author's Summary: There's no "I" in "Avenger." Main Pairing: Steve/Tony Words: 63019
Ain't No Grave (Can Keep My Body Down) by spitandvinegar Author's Summary: It's six in the morning, and Steve is heading out on a run when he nearly trips over a bouquet of sunflowers on the front steps of his brownstone.
For a second paranoia takes over, and he kicks the flowers a little, waiting for them to explode. They don't. They also came with a card, which he picks up. The front of the card has a tasteful picture of the Brooklyn bridge at sunset. It's very nice and sedate, like the kind of card you would buy to give to your boss. On the inside someone has written a short message in big, shaky block letters.
I AM SORRY FOR SHOOTING YOU.
Steve sits down hard on the steps. Main Pairing: Steve/Bucky Words: 107076
Infinite Coffee and Protection Detail series by owlet Author's Summary: The mission resets abruptly, from objective: kill to objective: protect Main Pairing: Steve/Bucky Words: 264438
Clint Barton's Super Secret Snipers' Club by sara_holmes Author's Summary: Clint Barton's Super Secret Snipers' Club. (Invitation and pending mental health evaluation required.)
"When Steve brings Bucky back to the tower for the first time, Clint’s first thought is that Tony Stark’s pride and joy is quickly becoming a less of a very tall and expensive ‘fuck you’ in the faces of investors who don’t believe in self-sustaining energy, and more of a superhero rehabilitation center."
Boyfriends, compromises and learning to like oneself. Main Pairing: Clint/Bucky Words: 67059
Nobody Lost, Nobody Found by ClaraxBarton Author's Summary: "Look, dude, I get it. You’re fucked-up. HYDRA fucked you up. I’ve been there. But you’re my fucking Soul Mate!"
“I can kill you. I could kill you without even realizing what I was doing. I’m not fucked-up, I’m a monster. I’m a nightmare. You can’t be here. You can’t- All the people I’ve killed- I will not murder my Soul Mate too. Not after everything else I’ve-”
Clint worked his left hand between their bodies and managed to land a punch to the man’s right side, forcing him to shift his weight, and Clint brought his right hand down on the place where the man’s metal arm met his torso - hidden by the shirt he wore, but on full display in the video Clint had watched.
The man released Clint with a grunt of pain, and Clint pressed his advantage, landing another punch to his abdomen, backing him up against the opposite side of the RV and then pressing the kitchen knife he had pocketed while cleaning up earlier to the man’s throat.
“Like I said, I’m not a Boy Scout. I’m plenty dangerous myself. We clear on that?”
OR:
This looks bad, because it is.
OR:
How Clint Barton met his Soul Mate AU: soulmates! Main Pairing: Clint/Bucky Words: 108331
Ronin!Clint 'verse by shatteredhourglass Author's Summary: “Who the fuck are you and how did you get this line?”
“I have my ways,” the voice says, amused. “Don’t worry, I’m just enjoying the view, Captain America.” Main Pairing: Clint/Bucky Words: 63266
Fandom: Firefly/Supernatural
Weight and Motion by sevenfists [note: the podfic by dodificus is excellent] Author's Summary: The pears were ripe, Kaylee told him, but Mal wouldn't eat any of them. They were a present, nestled all sweet and green in a wooden crate that a grateful passenger gave them right before they left her on Greenleaf. AU: Crossover, Dean ends up on Serenity, just roll with it Main Pairing: Mal/Dean Words: 43117
Fandom: Inception
All the World is Bullet Shaped by pushdragon Author's Summary: If Arthur thinks that, just by waving enough money around, he can get Eames to risk his life and reputation to rescue him from a death sentence, he's got another thing coming. So Eames sets a malicious, undignified price on his services, one he can be certain that a man like Arthur would never condescend to pay. It turns out to be the first of many mistakes. Main Pairing: Arthur/Eames Words: 76656
I Seem to Be a Verb by Aja Author's Summary: Arthur owns a quirky hipster science bookstore. Eames is a world-famous mega-celebrity.
Clearly this calls for a meet-cute. AU: Notting Hill AU Main Pairing: Arthur/Eames Words: 93837
In Medias Res by starlingthefool Author's Summary: What's the most resilient infection? What's more infectious than a cold, deadlier than cholera? What lingers in your blood forever?
Love, of course. Mal has always known that. Her pointman Eames may dismiss her for a romantic, but for better or worse, love has gotten her this far. AU: Mirror-verse Main Pairing: Arthur/Eames, Mal/Dom Words: 52662
The Music Makers by mami_san Author's Summary: A. Graham Cole was twenty-one years old when he was killed in action in Iraq. This is the official story. The truth is, of course, somewhat different. Main Pairing: Arthur/Eames Words: I dunno, because it's not on AO3. But my PDF is 451KB so it's over 50k, most likely.
Presque Vu by rageprufrock Author's Summary: Or, "on the tip of the tongue." Arthur meets Mal first. He inherits Dom, after. Everything else is on him. Main Pairing: Arthur/Eames Words: 69588
Wherever You Will Be (That's Where I'll Call Home) [The DomesticVerse] by gyzym Author's Summary: People you kiss in an airport baggage claim and then don't talk to for thirteen months shouldn't be able to exist, let alone make your chest do the things Arthur's chest is doing. In depth gig review: ECM at 50: Jazz at Lincoln Center, Rose Theater, November 1, 2019
Tumblr media
In 1969, the landscape of music was changing greatly-- Woodstock was a cultural force, the Beatles released Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, the first Santana album ushered in  a sort of Latin, jazz-rock hybrid, and Americans were reacting strongly to the senselessness of the Vietnam war.  The culture was changing, Eastern religions became a fascination as were mind altering drugs  which helped Westerners gain new perspectives into the universe.  Jazz and improvised music as a whole were changing with the seismic shifts of Miles Davis' Bitches Brew and Emergency by the Tony Williams Lifetime, which preceded the groundbreaking Davis recording by several months.  Jazz-rock, soulful Hammond organ based jazz, and free jazz had all carved their unique paths.  That same year, a new label out of Germany founded by a trained classical bassist named Manfred Eicher, who also had worked at Deutsche Grammophon made waves on the scene.  Edition of Contemporary Music, it's initials commonly mistaken for Eicher Creative Music, or European Classical Music, has arguably changed the face of boundary pushing music more than any other label over the past fifty years. ECM is known for a crystalline recording clarity, frequently found in classical music, a chamber music like focus, and a cinematic bent to albums, akin to film, one of Eicher's passions.
Contrary to popular belief, as journalist and ECM scholar John Kelman has noted, there is not really an “ECM sound”.   Critics of the label have frequently cited the heavy reverberant quality of many recordings as being distant and icy-- rather it would be more appropriate to say that while there are traits and a certain aesthetic that contributes to the label's recordings, there are plenty such as Jan Garbarek's Afric Pepperbird that have a very present immediacy with a fairly dry sound.  ECM helped establish through the recordings of Paul Bley, Chick Corea and especially Keith Jarrett, a new way of looking at solo piano, that has permanently changed the jazz landscape.  ECM brought attention to an entire generation of post Wes Montgomery guitar innovators: Ralph Towner, John Abercrombie, Terje Rypdal, a then relatively unknown prodigy from Lee's Summit Missouri with wild, shoulder length hair and a winning smile named Pat Metheny, sound sculpturist David Torn and Bill Frisell. The label also helped expand on an approach to ride cymbal playing that blended the intricacy of bebop, with a straight eighth note feel that allowed the rhythm to somehow swing and float simultaneously popularized by Norwegian Jon Christensen and Jack DeJohnette.  The label has also explored many cultures from Brazil, North Africa, and most recently Israel.  And last but not least, the label set a new precedent with album art the same way Blue Note, Impulse and CTI had.  Striking text only  or covers with evocative landscape photos with uniform fonts are art pieces in themselves. The sometimes startling 5 seconds of silence that begins each CD, demands that the listener pay close attention to the music within.
On November 1st at Jazz At Lincoln Center's Rose Theater, in the first of two days in New York City, ECM celebrated it's past, present and future.  The two and a half hour concert packed  a dizzying array of ECM and ECM associate artists that provided a concise snapshot of everything that has made the label enduring.  The evening's roster was studded with an impossible array of all stars and label newcomers: Egberto Gismonti, Ravi Coltrane, Larry Grenadier, Avishai Cohen, Enrico Rava, Bill Frisell, Joe Lovano, Shai Maestro, Nik Bartsch, Andrew Cyrille, Anja Lechner, Wadada Leo Smith, Meredith Monk, Vijay Iyer and  Jack DeJohnette among others.  Unlike some retrospective concerts which are quick summations of hits the musicians, allowed between one and three selections in specific configurations, used the pieces as launching pads for exploration, keeping with the label ethos.  There were some notable absences, Pat Metheny, Terje Rypdal, Manfred Eicher himself who could not make the trip, the recently retired Jarrett, Jan Garbarek, and Gary Peacock to name but a few who had such a major impact, but those who were there, more than made up for it.
Egberto Gismonti, non pareil Brazilian pianist and guitarist who has been a major figure in Brazilian music and guitar, opened the concert on piano and seemingly fit an entire history of Brazilian music styles in relative brevity. Recent label signee, saxophone veteran Joe Lovano, pianist Marilyn Crispell, and drummer Carmen Castaldi who appeared on Trio Fascination earlier this year, gave a spirited rendition of “The Smiling Dog” that found Lovano's breathy, woody, impassioned tenor phrases framed by Crispell's tone clusters and jabs, Castaldi's spattering cymbals, rim clatters, and painterly snare and tom strokes building to a slow burn.  The elongated interpretation added considerably more heat than the version that appeared on the recording.  Vijay Iyer and Wadada Leo Smith built upon their fascinating and excellent duo album A Cosmic Rhythm Within Each Stroke by engaging in an enthralling duet blurring the line between new music and improvisation.  Iyer probed with  a variety of textures from acoustic piano and Fender Rhodes, grounded eighth note pulses freeing the legendary trumpeter, hunkered over in a near squat, bell in microphone to roam with signature legato lines, and carefully considered asides.  Smith straightened from his bent position, and stood stock still with his horn, making the silence count as much as the notes, as Iyer continued to mine abstract shapes and textures, returning from Rhodes to piano.  Smith reached for a golden Harmon mute on the floor, and utilized some amusing wah wah trumpet effects that traveled back to the earliest history of jazz trumpet through a thoroughly post modern prism.
Bill Frisell and Thomas Morgan reprised Paul Motian's “It Happened A Long Time Ago”, Frisell's trademark neck bending of notes veered them off into space as his solo contained much thoughtful meditations.  Morgan's rich tone and backing brought to mind the sorely missed late Charlie Haden whose label contributions were immeasurable.  Wadada and legendary drummer Andrew Cyrille joined them on stage for two tracks from Cyrille's Declaration of Musical Independence, and besides Smith's sparkling trumpet, and an incredibly attuned Frisell, Cyrille showed exactly why he has been one of the most important figures in jazz with his unmistable ability to color and orchestrate on the drums as if the cymbals and drums were a large canvas.
Over the past few years, ECM has  had a huge Israeli contingent with important albums coming from Avishai Cohen, both in quartet and duo with pianist Yonathan Avishai.  Though the  duo just released the wonderful Playing The Room, the pair appeared as a quartet with bassist Barak Mori and drummer Ziv Ravitz, who replaced Nasheet Waits (playing later in the evening) for an aggressive, power packed “Shoot Me In The Leg”.  Cohen's composition  burst with the energy of New York jazz; it was the kind of performance that could only exist in the post Wynton Marsalis, Young Lions era.  Cohen played with whalloping energy and purpose, occasionally pointing the bell of his horn into the piano to add extra reverberation and resonant qualities.  Ravitz added further heat with well timed explosions.
As mentioned a bit earlier, ECM frequently draws the  line between new music and improvisation.  For those who may be curious reading this review unfamiliar with the term, new music refers to classical music composed by living, modern composers.  Though the pieces can be composed in styles such as romantic, baroque or classical styles, very often new music challenges listeners pushing at the boundaries of form, instrumentation or what music is.  Swiss pianist Nik Bartsch and his bands Ronin and Mobile specialize in a minimalist influenced form called ritual groove music.  Bartsch carries on a tradition of minimalism at ECM most famously espoused by Steve Reich and (to an extent) Meredith Monk,.  With Ronin or Mobile it is updated with grooves that attract newer listeners. There is a heavy African element to the intense, precise metronome like grooves, which change over time through the pianist's shouted verbal cues. Bartsch, coming to the stage dressed in all black, looking like a cross of a martial arts master with something out of The Matrix played a solo version for the first time of “Modul 5”. The concentrated performance  captured the essence of his main band, nothing was missing.  Craig Taborn also offered a spikier take on solo piano in the avant garde realm making for refreshing contrast.
Ravi Coltrane, Matthew Garrison and Jack DeJohnette took to the stage to close the concert's first half for a searing “Serpentine Fire”, the Earth, Wind and Fire classic the trio collective recorded on their 2016 In Movement. DeJohnette, who has been the most recorded drummer on ECM (first appearing with Keith Jarrett on Ruta And Daitya in 1971) has a synergy with Coltrane and Garrison that is magical.  They can  literally go anywhere with the level of trust and camaraderie, and they certain went everywhere on “Serpentine Fire”.  Garrison bolstered the lengthy rubato introduction with Hendrixian distorted bass, fuzzed out leads traipsing atop looped backgrounds set for himself.  DeJohnette, behind his slick camouflage finish Sonor kit, added a shower of well placed cymbal work, punctuating with loud crashes on his Sabian Encore model China, and crash cymbals.  His patented rumbling tom free falls adding a beautiful tension underneath Garrison and Coltrane's sopranino saxophone.  By the time the drummer entered into a groove, things moved from a slow burn to an ecstatic frenzy, DeJohnette engaging in his love of rock and funk with displaced brilliance, the tune brought Rose Theater to it's feet.
In the second half, Ethan Iverson and Mark Turner  explored more of their chamber duo camaraderie found on Temporary Kings with Iverson proudly displaying his ECM shirt to the audience at tune's end.  By far, as excellent as all the music was, the most touching of the music all evening was Meredith Monk's rendition of “Gotham Lullaby” first heard on her masterpiece Dolmen Music, her ECM debut from 1980. As a vocalist, performance artist, and new music composer, the soon to be 77 year old Monk is singular and has influenced a legion of vocalists who employ extended technique, including Bjork, and label mate Theo Bleckmann, a Meredith Monk Vocal Ensemble alumnus that appeared on two recordings.  The poignancy of “Gotham Lullaby” was made all the more poignant when she dedicated the piece to the healing of the earth and when one considers the context of the piece. Understanding the context of Monk's pieces can greatly aid in appreciation and sparking the listeners imagination for their own mental images.  The piece was originally written in 1979 for a stage adaptation of Fear and Loathing adapted by long time collaborator, Ping Chong titled Fear and Loathing in Gotham.  Chong, one of the most important and influential figures in interdisciplinary performance, and one of the leaders in providing a forum for Asian American artists, based the non narrative play on a white officer tracking down an Asian serial killer.   Though Monk has since revised some of the wordless syllables that appeared on the original recording, the warmth of her rich alto range had lost none of it's emotive power.  Knowing the theme of the original play, her wild, intense, frightened ululations were even more chilling. Besides Anja Lechner, she represented the ECM New Series side of the label, focusing on groundbreaking works of classical and new music.
Ravi Coltrane returned to the stage donning tenor saxophone with Ralph Alessi on trumpet, Andy Milne on piano, Drew Gress on bass and Mark Ferber on drums for “Iram Issala” from Alessi's Imaginary Friends.  This is a great quintet, and the rapport Alessi and Coltrane have dates to the latter's lone Blue Note recording Spirit Fiction in 2012 where the trumpeter appeared on several numbers.  Their soaring perfect fourth based line at the end of the piece was magisterial as they became one.  The piece shifted through several moods during the solos, and by the time they reached the unison phrase it was purely cathartic.  To finish the evening, Joe Lovano returned with Enrico Rava who had flown in from Italy with pianist Giovanni Guidi, and the group was completed by Dezron Douglas, one of New York's bass A listers, and Nasheet Waits on drums.  The band looked at “Interiors” and Lovano's “Fort Worth” heard on their dynamic new album Roma.  Waits, who replaced Gerald Cleaver for the concert was a marvel on the hard swinging Ornette Coleman inspired Lovano composition.  Rava brought a very interesting texture on flugelhorn, much different than Tom Harrell, who recorded an earlier version of the tune on Quartets: Live At The Village Vanguard  in 1996.  Rava and Lovano were quite playful in collective dialogue, and Waits unbreakable strength ride beat spurred them on.  Giovanni Guidi as he does on Roma revealed himself as an improviser of remarkable depth, as the two pieces tapped into a blusier, hard swinging side of his musical personality.  His Avec Les Temps from earlier this year showed a richer compositional voice and orchestrative acumen with tenor saxophone and guitar added to the ensemble.
With it's 50th Anniversary gala, ECM provided something of a rarity in the modern concert era.  Very rarely do people get to see so many of the label's legends and stars in such a carefully organized event. ECM had presented festival nights as did CTI and Blue Note in the 70's, but a label concert package today is not often found. The November 1 concert was truly special.  ECM showed just how enduring of a cultural institution it is, and how focused it is on bringing public attention to great musicians today.  The label modus operandi, though it has released some fantastic archival releases and presented long out of print titles in high resolution digital for streaming, is mainly concentrated on the present.  Manfred Eicher,  as label founder, producer and visionary keeps moving forward providing an embarrassment of consistently excellent music. The ECM at 50 celebration was a way to honor the past, and present of a juggernaut in recorded music.

Hiromi's Backstory
She was born into the Soule family in May 24th, 1998. She was born 3 weeks prior to her due date.
As a baby, she was quite well behaved. Which set her up as a specific archetype of person. She loved other people's attention, but specifically stuck to her grandfather, Keon. Her first steps were taken at 6 months old, trying to get back to him after being ripped from his arms. A sign of concern appeared as she spoke her first word at 9 months, "Blood."
After her first birthday, she began to close off more. Despite being so young, she became wary of humankind. But Keon forced the interactions, teaching her how to act like she was one of them.
By two years old, she became quite well mannered. Always listening to her superiors and elders. Her "terrible twos" mostly involved Hiromi not knowing her boundaries with others. Which most people found endearing.
When she was 3, she began to realize not many people her own age got along with her due to her superiority complex. So Ronin and Larkyn were more than happy to take her under their wings.
At 4, she began reading like her brother. But quickly became disinterested in fiction. It was her doctor phase, as she learned basic herbal remedies from her grandmother, the Shaman/Healer of the Coven, Mi-na.
At 5, in kindergarten she began running. She enjoyed the physical aspect of it, but there was still something missing. This also the age she noticed Destry, the only elementary school student brave enough to speak up about witches. After Destry's incident, despite the sudden intrusion in her life, they became friends.
Age 6, Hiromi was shoved into a pool for the first time. It was by an older bully, who expected her to cry and call for help. But Hiromi's legs were strong, and this is how she discovered her love for swimming. At this age, when she would spend time with Mi-na, her family would call them Mi and Mi. Destry, using word association, bestowed the nick name Mimi onto her. It is still stuck on her to this day, Hiromi hates it.
At 7, is when Keon's mind broke after the death of Hiromi's mother. She became closed off to everyone, except for her new friend, Arcadia. Arcadia, who's memories had been erased after Keon attempted to kill her. Hiromi would play pretend that she wasn't distraught from Keon's abscence. She was able to bury her emotions into physical exertion, aka swimming.
At 8, Mimi began competitively swimming. She got 5th place in her first race, which for someone her age and level, was amazing. In Hiromi's it wasn't good enough. This is also the age she began getting nightmares about her grandfather. They weren't bad enough to draw unwanted attention.
At 9, she still hadn't gotten first place in any competitions, but consistently third. Arcadia's parents took a shine to Hiromi, considering how close the two had gotten. Mi-na began teaching Hiromi simple and educational healing spells. Having decided that after Mi-na, Hiromi would take on the mantle of Shaman in the Coven.
At 10, is when she finally placed first in a race. As a matter of fact, she went above and beyond making a new record for that age group. It was this day that she decided that it was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life (of course, not consulting her grandmother who had different plans). It was also at this time that Arcadia's parents, the leaders of the Anti-Witch Campaigns, began to suspect the Soule family of witchcraft. Considering the only days Hiromi would sleepover, would be full moons (the days that witches typically enacted their plans due to their powers being at their peak).
At 11, Hiromi noticed that they were different than other girls. They didn't like things girls liked. At first, not understanding different sexualities or genders, assumed it was just their way of following their older brother. As puberty began to hit, their nightmares were evolving. Into night sweats and panic attacks. They also had their first kiss with a fellow swimmer, named Andrew Parker.
At 12, the nightmares fully developed into night terrors, which Mi-na saw fit to put Hiromi into therapy. Janet took care of them, but it was to no avail. Ronin had discovered his powers, which made Hiromi extremely jealous, knowing it would still be awhile until they found their's. They stopped competing in swimming competitions, hoping that eventually they would find a greater challenge once they reached older age groups.
At 13, they searched desperately for their powers. In the beginning, Hiromi couldn't understand their totem which was a bear. The only power that seemed to appear was the ability to manipulate people through intimidation. At this point, they had given up on curing their night terrors, and only slept about 2-4 hours a night.
At 14, Hiromi learned from Destry the term non-binary (Destry, being more exposed to the LGBTQ+ community because of her moms) and finally began to understand themselves. They only came out to 4 people closest to them (Ronin, Larkyn, Arcadia, and Destry).
15, Hiromi discovered Carmine and Errol, and invited the two into the coven. They began competing again, coming in 2nd their first returning race. On a particularly exhausting day, they accidentally feel asleep on Carmine's shoulder. But for once, they didn't have a nightmare. It was only when they slept next to Carmine that they felt safe enough to sleep peacefully. Though the arrangement confused Carmine, he thought he owed Hiromi for saving his life. Because high school had begun for Hiromi, their sport achievements began attracting University scouts. Arcadia's powers began to show through, after she poisoned her ex-boyfriend with venom. They were able to comfort their best friend, and from then on there was a natural dependency shared between the two.
16, they had been breaking swimming records left and right. Mi-na had realized if they were to go to a prestigious school, they wouldn't be able to become the Coven's Shaman. Although, to the League of Witches, this seemed to be for the best. Once they considered how Hiromi's powers were weak compared to others. In order to keep Hiromi on the path of the Coven, Mi-na forced a car accident. The car flipped over several times, Hiromi and Arcadia's sister being severely injured in the crash. Hiromi's knee was shattered, ending her career in sports. What Mi-na didn't predict was the car setting on fire. Hiromi, in the heat of the moment, attempted to push the dark in enough for Arcadias sister to wiggle out. With ease, the only detergent being the awkward angle, they pushed in the dash as if it was a pop can. The League and Coven realized the strength came from their totem and were very impressed. Afterwards, during one of the core 7's meetings under the full moon, Phoenix stumbled upon them in the forest. She recognized Hiromi from school and begged to be a part of it. Phoenix herself had begun to develop powers. Hiromi agreed reluctantly, but were also secretly happy that they were needed.
17, after their blessing ceremony, Hiromi became obsessed with learning the ins and outs of magic. Considering that they thought they would never amount to anything outside the Wiccan world. At the same time, they still needed to pursue a career to steer clear of the Witch Hunters. They chose medicine, specifically a Nurse, which would aid in their Shaman passion.
18, the one and only year that the boys and ladies were separated. Hiromi became stressed, which only made the night terrors without Carmine worse. Their grades leaving High school weren't what they would've liked, but their college essay (which was mainly bullshit tbh) was enough proof for them to get in. Their was a concern about the group being away from the Coven, but Hiromi was able to convince the League otherwise. They decided to skip Prom with Arcadia that night.
19, first year of University. They had a stoner roommate while Arcadia's roommate dropped out first day. Which got the two to be able to room together. Although most night they spent with Carmine and Errol. It's gotten to the point where Hiromi has a key to the boys' dorm room. Over the past year, Hiromi had noticed the major escalation of Carmine's alcoholism. But they couldn't worry about that right away, having their own things to worry about. More and more witches were being discovered. And, according to witness reports, Keon has followed the group across the country. The biggest concern for not only Hiromi, but the entire Witch race, was the new and innovative ways Witch Hunters finding out who were witches.

Link Tank: What We Know About The High Republic Star Wars Game Eclipse
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
Our first look at Quantic Dream’s Star Wars game Eclipse showcases some beautiful imagery of the high republic era.
“We already knew this was coming, but a reveal at The Game Awards tonight makes it official: Quantic Dream, the controversial developers of games like Detroit: Become Human and Heavy Rain, are working on a brand new game set in the Star Wars universe, on what looks like a brand new world of their creation.”

Could these teases in Hawkeye be setting up Laura Barton, played by the incomparable Linda Cardellini, to be something more than just a superhero’s spouse?
“There are only two episodes left in Marvel’s Hawkeye, and the wildly entertaining Disney+ series clearly has more tricks up its sleeve. Episode 4 delivered more clues about the mysterious Rolex found in the wreckage of the Avengers compound. But whose Rolex is it, and why is it so important to Clint Barton? After all, he seems plenty busy corralling Kate and tracking down his Ronin suit.”

Straight Outta Compton star O’Shea Jackson has one goal for his career in Hollywood; to fix video game movies.
“Jackson is dead-set on fixing the video game adaptation curse. ‘It’s been my life’s work since I was in college. I went to USC to write scripts for video games.’ And he’s getting closer to making his dream a reality. ‘I have a couple of meetings with PlayStation that I can’t wait to talk to people about. I’m on my way to my nerd kingdom,’ Jackson tells Inverse. He’s got no shortage of ideas either. When I asked him what his dream project would be, he rattled off a laundry list: God of War, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian. ‘I have the best idea for a Metroid game,’ he says, a huge smile on his face.”

Are you thinking about investing your money in something like gold or stocks? Think again because retired LEGO sets appreciate at a higher rate.
“While some people may consider gold, jewelry, art, wine, or antiques good investments in the long-term, a new study challenges that notion and presents a unique and more lucrative alternative: LEGO sets. Economists from the Higher School of Economics in Russia have found that the market prices of retired LEGO sets sold on the secondary market grow by at least 11% annually, which is higher than the average returns provided by gold, large stocks, bonds, and alternative investments.”

Steven Spielberg has another critical success with West Side Story on his hands, but what is the famed director’s worst outing?
“As his remake of West Side Story begins its theatrical run with critical raves and awards buzz, perpetually successful filmmaker Steven Spielberg may be in a celebratory mood. If he wants to keep the 2021 party going, he has a few weeks left to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Raiders Of The Lost Ark or the 20th anniversary of his secret masterpiece A.I.; fans could even take note of how his Adventures of Tintin/War Horse double feature is turning 10. What Spielberg may prefer to leave to the likes of millennial-driven entertainment publications is the fact that his Peter Pan-grows-up adventure fantasy Hook, widely if not universally considered his worst movie, turns 30 today.”

You know the song well, or do you? Here are some interesting facts about Wham!’s mega-hit “Last Christmas.”
“Over the course of his illustrious career, George Michael gave the world many gifts. One that keeps on giving is ‘Last Christmas,’ the 1984 holiday classic by Wham!, Michael’s pop duo with Andrew Ridgeley. ‘Last Christmas’ is such a uniquely beloved song that it inspired a 2019 film of the same name, and an internet game that people play each holiday season—but that’s just a small part of the ‘Last Christmas’ story. Read on for 10 fascinating facts about this seasonal synth-pop favorite.”

Fanfiction Writer Asks
Fuck it, I’ll do it myself, because I know I can’t count on you nerds to actually ask anything. :p
1) How old were you when you first starting writing fanfiction?
I really don’t know. I’ve been writing creatively since I was like 6. I don’t really remember writing for fandom until Pokémon, but I’ve been in fandom since the original Sailor Moon and Ronin Warriors/Samurai Troopers.
 2) What fandoms do you write for and do you have a particular favourite if you write for more than one?
I guess the Yogscast. Except I only really like a few of them, and it sure as shit isn’t the main channel people. I haven’t found a new obsession because I can’t sit still for tv anymore, and I’m a patient gamer/reader. So once I find something I like, it’s probably old and everyone’s already moved on.
3) Do you prefer writing OC’s or reader inserts? Explain your answer.
OCs. I am boring, shy (and thus no fun), and quite good at ruining the moment.
 4) What is your favourite genre to write for?
Action/Adventure. Fight scenes. Getting out of dire as fuck situations. Underdogs.
 5) If you had to choose a favourite out of all of your multi chaptered stories, which would it be and why?
I have so many… XP I guess a story I wrote in called Royal Infamy. It was literally hundreds of pages long, spanned at least 4 different fandoms, and could’ve been a standalone series if I just changed the names. Unfortunately it’s been lost to the ooooolllllddddd (and I mean 2001) internet. I like to think that maybe it’s on some ancient server, saved by those sorts of people who try to archive the entire internet and have literal exabytes of hoarded data. It was also how I met my SO of 13 years.
 6) If you had to delete one of your stories and never speak of it again, which would it be and why?
A Prince of Persia fic. I don’t even like Prince of Persia.
7) When is your preferred time to write?
I never get as much inspiration as when it’s 1am and I’m supposed to be going to bed like a normal person. But never at a normal hour in the evening unless I’m inspired at work and have to rush home before I forget.
 8) Where do you take your inspiration from?
It used to be from all the anime I used to watch, now it’s cobbled together from fantasy books and video games.
 9) In your xxx fic, what’s your favourite scene that you wrote?
Like erotic fic? Eeeh. I’m so terrible at it that I literally only have one, I’m writing it right now, I’m not finished, and I don’t particularly like it because I keep subconsciously writing away from the part where they hold hands because I’m conflicted and discomforted by the whole thing, to be honest. Like, even when I was adolescent and supposed to be thirsty as teenagers are, I just wasn’t and couldn’t. My ex tried to get me to write something for him, and I still couldn’t do it. *shrug* It doesn’t help that I’ve never been big on shipping. …Those characters sure are standing next to each other, yep.
 10) In your xxx fic, why did you decide to end it like that? Did you have an alternative ending in mind?
Hahah… endings. That’s good. (Also see previous question.)
 11) Have you ever amended a story due to criticisms you’ve received after posting it?
Not that I can recall, unless you count ‘stop doing that thing’, ‘okay’ *does it more*
 12) Who is your favourite character to write for? Why?
Rythian. Fuckin’ edgelord. Just everything about him and his OC is *kisses fingers*.
 13) Who is your least favourite character to write for? Why?
Unfortunately Rythian is usually entangled with other people from the Yogscast. :p
 14) How did you come up with the title for the xxx?
Current project doesn’t even have a title, that’s how non-committed I am to it (she says even though it’s fast approaching a novelette.)
 15) If you write OC’s, how do you decide on their names?
If it’s an OC of a particular universe, there’s probably a naming convention, and I go by many names. If it’s just generic freestanding story, I keysmash and pick through it until it rolls off the tongue.
 16) How did you come up with the idea for xxx?
Classic ‘rivals who hide their sexual tension behind their distaste for one another.’
 17) Post a line from a WIP that you’re working on.
“I haven’t seen your face since when you first came back from The End. And the … incident with trying to rid you of your curse.” He chuckled. “I’ve actually seen a lot more than your scars.”
 18) Do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them?
Like 75% of my work is abandonware. I have ADHD, I get bored, and I usually take so long, the fandom “dies” before I can finish. And the moment is gone.
 19) Are there any stories that you’ve written that you’d really love to do a sequel to?
Royal Infamy. And make it mine this time.
 20) Are there any stories that you wished you’d ended differently?
Probably Royal Infamy.
 21) Tell me about another writer(s) who you admire? What is it about them that you admire?
Ilona Andrews. Her style is exactly what I aim for. …Okay maybe not the monster fucking, but the rest of it. Exciting, tense, a little bit scary.
 22) Do you have a story that you look back on and cringe when you reread it?
The Prince of Persia fic. The first draft of the erofic. The weeb crack.
 23) Do you prefer listening to music when you’re writing or do you need silence?
Silence. My brain goes 100% towards analyzing music and then I can’t focus on anything else.
 24) How do you feel about writing smutty scenes?
Eeeeeeehhhhhh *whines* I don’t wanna…
 25) Have you ever cried whilst writing a story?
Nope. I don’t write that kind of pain.
 26) Which part of your xxx fic was the hardest to write?
The part where these two people who’ve tried to murder each other could even reasonably be in each other’s presence, let alone fuck. Also eternal hatred for evasive genital description brought on by a broken, puritan society.
 27) Do you make a general outline for your stories or do you just go with the flow?
I should start making outlines. My current three projects keep going off the rails.
 28) What is something you wished you’d known before you started posting fanfiction?
To go in with no expectations of people ever responding let alone giving feedback to anything. You’re just tossing shit in a hole and for every ton, one flower might grow.
 29) Do you have a story that you feel doesn’t get as much love as you’d like?
I did a thing about how Lalnable Hector created Echo, and *crickets*.
 30) In contrast to 29 is there a story which gets lots of love which you kinda eye roll at?
Twenty years later, I still get emails about a fic I wrote about Birdy the Mighty (C-tier anime about a dead boy soul-sharing an intergalactic cop’s body.)
 31) Send me a fic recommendation and I’ll post it for my followers to see! (The asker is to send the rec not the answerer)
-
32) Are any of your characters based on real people?
Other than putting slivers of wish fulfillment in, no.
 33) What’s the biggest compliment you’ve gotten?
Someone found a fic I wrote in two weeks in an archive over 20 years old and sent me kudos. Like, that shit should’ve been buried. But they found it.
 34) What’s the harshest criticism you’ve gotten?
Mary Sue. And you’re goddamn right she was. And I’ll fucking do it again.
35) Do you share your story ideas with anyone else or do you keep them close to your chest?
Nope, not for fear or anything, I just don’t think to share before it’s done because I’ll probably abandon it anyway.
 36) Can you give us a spoiler for one of your WIP’s?
You’ll be unsatisfied with the ending.
 37) What’s the funniest story you’ve written?
You fucking made me open one of my old Gundam Wing crack fics to check. Now I don’t know because I’m still cringing.
 38) If you could collab with any other writer on here, who would it be? (Perhaps this question will inspire some collabs!) If you’re shy, don’t tag the blog, just name it.
*shrug* Like… I haven’t done a collab in *checks calendar* 17 years. I don’t have any live fandoms. I’m not big on trying to meld with other people’s styles.
 39) Do you prefer first, second or third person?
Third.
 40) Do people know you write fanfiction?
No.
 41) What’s your favourite minor character you’ve written?
Can’t think of one. I usually don’t have minor/background characters?
 42) Song fic - What made you decide to use the song xxx for xxx.
…Okay, now I seriously can’t tell if xxx means erotic or a particular example. 😐 Anyway, I for some reason lost the ability to link songs to fics/personalities. I just don’t think of any particular person when I hear a song and vice-versa.
 43) Has anyone ever guessed the plot twist of one of your fics before you posted it?
That would imply enough people cared.
 44) What is the last line you wrote?
Despite the queen pushing him, he couldn’t move even if he wanted to (which he didn’t.)
 45) What spurs you on during the writing process?
If I don’t fucking do this it’s going to bother the fuck out of me for weeks, even if I don’t finish. Just get it on paper so it goes away.
 46) I really loved your xxx fic. If you were ever to do a sequel, what do you think might happen in it?
More action and intrigue.
 47) Here’s a fic title - insert a made up title. What would this story be about?
 -
48) What’s your favourite trope to write?
The antagonist finds the protagonist’s berserk button and realizes that maybe they should not have pushed it.
 49) Can you remember the first fic you read? What was it about?
I can’t remember fics I wrote. And shit, that was at least 23 years ago. (She says even though she can perfectly remember her first fantasy novel 30 years ago. (The Gammage Cup))
 50) If you could write only angst, fluff or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?
Angst. I think. I’ve gotten good feedback from my more serious stuff.

Morro?
Ooo! Alrighty!
Favorite thing about them: I mean, I really like his voice! I think Andrew Francis was an incredible choice for Morro! As for personality wise, I think my favorite thing about him is his determination and drive! I thought he was a really good villain!
Least favorite thing about them: Hmmm probably the way he speaks, sometimes. Sometimes he chooses weird vernacular. I don’t really have too many problems with Morro!
Favorite line: hmm there isn’t one that really stands out, but I think it’s so funny in DOTD when he’s like “Bad, very bad”
brOTP: I’m a huge, huge sucker for Morro and Cole!
OTP: hmm I don’t really ship Morro with anyone romantically, but if I had to choose, Morro and Harumi! I forget their ship name but I think it’d be interesting if they met!
nOTP: MORRO AND LLOYD. Morro was abusive to Lloyd and I just can’t handle that ship.
Random headcanon: Morro has a wonderful, wonderful memory. He can list things off of the top of his head!
Unpopular opinion: I kind of like him better as a villain vs. reformed and joining the team. I like that he had a chance to redeem himself, but he still did really bad things and I’m not saying that people who do bad things can’t change, because they definitely can, but I think he was more interesting as a villain who sacrificed himself for the greater good at the end.
Song I associate with them: Meant to be Yours (Heathers), Slipping (Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog), Pulled (Addams Family)
Favorite picture of them: the look on his face when Nya throws the bomb at him and Ronin is like “you’re gonna blow up your friend” because it’s freaking priceless
Thank you for the ask! That was fun!
