If you don't mind me asking, what are your tips to getting yourself to write/ making time to write?
This is a GREAT ask, and even though I'm not sure that what works for me will work for everyone, I'm happy to share what I do in case it works for you, anonymous friend! đ
So, to start, in full transparency: I have ADHD, a very, very busy and stressful job, and a spouse and dog and house, so I'm not always great at this! AND I'm not always great at not shaming myself when I am not great at this, even though I know better than to think that shame is in any way helpful. đ
Because of all that, I think that step 1 HAS to be an acknowledgement that you aren't always going to find the time/motivation/energy/willpower/inspiration to write - because of things both in and not in your control - and that is totally fine! The acceptance of that being totally fine is an important part of all of this, because I have found that if you are literally ALWAYS stressed about writing more/writing a certain thing/meeting writing goals, then you can very easily fall into the kind of anxiety spiral that inhibits creativity and makes you start to dread or dislike writing. That's no fun, and writing should be fun!
So, I guess my tip for 'getting yourself to write more' is to start by NOT putting unnecessary pressure on yourself to write - which probably feels paradoxical, lol. Instead, only write when you feel the inspiration to! If possible, the literal moment that inspiration strikes, even if it's just you taking 2 seconds to jot down a note in your notes app, so you can come back to it when the inspiration/excitment strikes again! And yeah, I purposefully didn't say to come back when you have the time for it, because if you're like me, having the time to do something can feel oddly paralyzing - I have free time, so I SHOULD do something productive or creative with it, right? But I don't always think so - sometimes you need that time to let your brain be fallow, to wander, to dream. Let your drive to write wax and wane, as all natural things do! There's a rhythm to it, and learning what YOUR rhythms are matters. And, creativity NEEDS rest! If you are trying to make all your free hours productive ones, then your well of ideas and motivation is going to run dry before long.
What has been especially helpful to me during this season of my life is to acknowledge that I get excited about different wips at different moments, and just because I am really into one topic/theme/plot/ship/wip right now, it doesn't mean that I won't get a burst of inspiration for a completely different one next week! Having multiple (for me, wildly different) things on the go at once means that there is always something for me to work on when my brain loses interest in one thing, and knowing that helps me not stress that I've lost all creative steam - it's just gone in a new direction.
Okay, so since this is becoming a novel, just a couple more quick ideas: I listen to music that makes me think when I am trying to puzzle out a writing direction I want to take, and use my commute to and from work in the morning to mentally work out plot points, themes, dialogue, etc. For me that's almost 2 hours out of my day, and it helps me decompress from work! I also like to write in the bath, because that makes me feel contemplative, and sometimes at work on my lunch break, if work itself has provided some inspiration. I basically just try and work little creative moments into my day! You don't need to carve out a big block of time to write during, make it work for you and your schedule.
And genuinely, seriously: don't beat yourself up if you can't focus/make the time. I have been struggling with chapter 4 of '[conduct] not unbecoming' for the past 2 months, and it wasn't until I stopped fighting with it and decided to let my brain go in the direction it wanted to go (a very different one LMAO) that I started to feel light enough, inspired enough, and thoughtful enough to make progress on it again! Listen to your brain when it is telling you what it needs. đ

behold: my second least favorite string of words in the entirety of Tears of the Kingdom.
(it's a little less transparent why this time so I'll explain my thoughts under the cut)
So why do I not like this?
In so many words: because if you remove it, the scene still works, but you lose the moral certainty of what is going on.
This single sentence does so much legwork for the entire game (the kind I dislike), to the point where I'm about 60% sure it's the product of a rework that realized how ambiguous Rauru's position was as the Good Rightful King and needed to nervously reassure the players that Ganondorf Is and Always Was the Invader, Actually.
(no matter that it leaves the gerudos in this awkward in-between state of both invaders and victims, while never dwelling in the specifics of their history and their own agency in the entire thing; brushed off as a sin they have to expiate through loyalty to the winners of that particular strife, but without explicitely blaming them either to avoid the implications of what that would have looked like)
If you remove it, not only do you lose a pretty clunky line that detracts from Ganondorf's intimidating presence (who is he even speaking to? who needs to hear this right now?) that honestly speaks for itself when it comes to his experience with warfare, but also you lose any tension and any mystery regarding why he is attacking in the first place.
You also... kind of rob Ganondorf's motivations of their meaning. "Hyrule will bow down before me" leads to asking... why? What does he want? What does he see in those lands? And what little we get with Rauru and then Link during the final fight begs more questions; why do you prefer hardship to peace? Why do you value strength? What leads you to want to rule a land devoid of survivors, become a king without a kingdom? I don't think we ever get satisfactory answers. If you remove this sentence, on the other hand... Subtextually, it becomes pretty clear that his motivations is that he felt threatened by Rauru's power, which is ripe with subtext and questions about whether this is a legitimate reaction, whether his "no survivor" stance is due to a feeling of betrayal when his own people turned against him post the Demon King shenanigans... I'm not saying it would fix the entire game's writing, far from it, but it would already do *so much more*.
(genuinely, I think he could have stayed completely silent during the Molduga Assault, speaking only in the Show of Fealty before going completely nuts after Sonia's murder, and it would have worked MUCH better in terms of characterization but anyway anyway
EDIT: ALSO!!! that way he wouldn't speak hylian to fellow gerudos, which is weird inherently)
Without this line, the core of the tension between the gerudos and Hyrule comes front in his conversation with Rauru; it allows the cause of his hostility to be Rauru's invitations, that he would have taken as a threat, and would have still made him warlike and domineering without making him cartoonishly flat, because, once again, Rauru is not acting in a particularly more legitimate way when Zelda arrives in Ancient Hyrule; and it would have been... fair to point that out. And make for better characterization for Rauru, and Sonia, and Mineru, and everybody. But the priority was for Hyrule to be pictured as unquestionably holy; always legitimate, always truthful, always beautiful, always just.
Also, and this is more of a nitpick but: why would Ganondorf want Hyrule, specifically, to bow down before him also? Was he at war with the rest of the disparate tribes before, and just carried on his ambitions to the very very newly-founded kingdom as they allied under a new banner? (though it seems to be implies the lands were crawling under monsters in a generic sense, and not Ganondorf's attacks in particular) Why would he even consider Hyrule a legitimate entity worth taking over then, if it is so new, born from the will of a powerful rival, founded by what is basically a stranger to these lands? Why would he covet something so young instead of destroying it and just calling the lands Gerudo Lands II or Grooseland or something?
I don't think any of that was even accounted for, because, beyond everything else: to me, this sentence is so clearly and painfully crammed in here to shield Hyrule from any potential blame and immediately characterize Ganondorf as Bad without having to remove any of the causes that could lead one to side-eye Rauru's little pet project as equally questionable.
Beyond the clumsiness, it is cowardly --and, I think, a little damning.
#totk#totk critical#when will my brain return from the imprisoning war...#ganondorf#gerudos#rauru#tl:dr it is cowardly and reveals that nintendo knew about the Implications to some degree#sometimes less is more#really in that case less would have been so much more#it is literally ganondorf's first chronological line#yeah sure it tells you everything about the guy but#it's also such a bold commitment to flatness and self-righteousness that... yeah#and before I hear any âat least Rauru wasn't using forceâ I mean as far as we know though?#the constructs attack anyone deemed an âinvaderâ on sight one of the things rauru does is to apologize for this#(I reread Rauru's initial dialogue in the Sky Islands and it would have been SO GOOD if any ambiguity would have been allowed)#(like the thing about Constructs mindlessly pursuing their useless tasks forever disquieting him...)#(yeah buddy so true that could uhhh almost be a metaphor for something else regarding purpose and lineage or something wow)#and even if he didn't use force directly the power dynamics and repeated invitations are still undeniably questionnable#like my guy why do you want everybody to kneel down to you what's up with that do we unpack this or#at least ganondorf was like.... born and raised a king (not that it excuses anything but he inherited pre-existing traditions)#so did zelda#she was born in an imperfect system and did whatever she could about it#rauru *crowned himself*#he *made* the system

all the details in this didn't translate so well into a drawing, so I wound up just writing
you can probably figure it out, but this is set immediately after Luce's death
They steal into the Giglio Nero headquarters like a ghost, slipping through half-open doors and winding hallways. Giglio Nero is old, and each new Donna has built on the bones of the last, turning a once-modest estate into a sprawling compound.Â
Viper knows every hallway, had spent their time in I Prescelti Sette mapping every secret path in their Skyâs house.Â
They let their feet settle on the ground, choosing to walk the last stretch. With an infantâs body, every step only takes them an increment further, but today is significant, and they need the grounding.Â
The heart of Giglio Nero was once the inner sanctum of the Arcobaleno- but embittered Elements tend not to stay long after being chained to the world. It was called the Nursery, which, in hindsight, was deeply morbid.Â
They slip into the chambers of the Sky Arcobaleno, and settle on the dais where Luce lies. The indigo pacifier stays dim.
Her neck is bare, her skin is cold, her eyes are empty. Viper doesnât know how long they stare into those hollow eyes, but eventually they manage to reach out and close them. Luce deserved to turn her gaze away, even if only in death.
They canât look away.
Her white dress, the uniform of the Sky Arcobaleno has become her funeral shroud. Cold impersonal white, a monument to the purity of her flame, to the duty of her death. Her blank face, orange marking garishly bright against death-pallor.Â
Itâs so, so wrong.
Luce is warm, and she smiles, and she is always moving, even just a little.
She hated to be still. She made a point to smile, always, even when she cried because there were things that the world could not take from her, and her reactions were one of those things.
For it to end this way-
It was always going to happen, really. The lot of them had lived their lives, exceptional but still sensical, and then somehow found their way into a fairytale. Even the Strongest Sky could not subvert the laws of her narrative.
But it hurts that she wouldnât even try. That she laid down and waited for Him to come. That she walked up that mountain with the poise she brought to every other tragedy.
The people they hate most are liars, and Luce was always a liar. All that sight, blessed gift of a dead goddess, and she could never even admit the truth to herself. PatheticâŠ
They twirl a strand of bluish hair around chubby fingers, but they canât stay. Within Giglio Neroâs halls, there are always eyes on the âpreciousâ Arcobaleno- already the pacifier has been passed to little Aria, and soon her predecessorâs body will be discovered.Â
Best to just go. Time is money after all, and Viper is wasting it here.
#star says#khr#mammon khr#viper khr#luce khr#arcobaleno khr#katekyo hitman reborn#star's shinies#not drawing art but I don't have a tag for writing cuz I don't normally post it#anyway some expansions on stuff mentioned-#the Nursery is my head cannon about what GN does with all the babies in recovery- as well as for the convenience of the Sky in-house#basically just a house sized for toddlers#its next to to the Donna and Guardian's rooms so when exploring Viper made the not unreasonable assumption#that it was for the GN heir and prospective guardians rather then mythological infants#anyway one thing I find pretty funny (and interesting)#is from the perspective of I Prescelti Sette#they're in a crime novel that happens to have fantasy element but those are more of a tool yknow? its mostly about the Crime#and then BAM#into a actual fairytale#get cursed for the hubris of believing yourselves so powerful#have these magic artefacts be babies see if you can break this literal curse#here are your emotional support animals off you go#I like to explain most of the crack elements of KHR away as the most powerful characters in this setting are toddlers#and while they would like to think themselves to be above toddler things and immune to the effects of tiny bodies and brains#their behaviour is often nonsensical#and the world warps to their will

Working with Leviathan be like
Leviathan: *completely both rewrites a severe trauma trigger back into something neutral and freeing, and further reconnects me to the Sky and myself off plane and pre-incarnation in the space of 24 hours* yeah nice, anyway we should play video games now I'm tired
#~abyssal murmurs#Emphasis on he works over the span of months but he really is a uh... A pool of water that doesn't drip into your mind until you open the#door. And you think you will be drowned when you do but he is so soothing. And he walks with you#And sometimes what he walks you through is really painful and it's like what the actual fuck am I doing but he stays there like#duh it's what I said would happen it's fine trust me#And you do and then it's like. Holy shit. Look what I walked through. Hope you're proud of me#leviathan //#ramblings //#Anyway. Friendship ended with Despise A Certain Game now Ending Of The Game Where She's Soothed And The Rain Fades is my friend#And. I didn't realise how much I'd become afraid to talk about me. I talk about Leviathan all the time as the sky but I don't.... Like#talking about myself as a part of the day sky and what that means. I have. Thanks to him. Had gateways opened to astral memories#that I was too scared to touch and.... I'm.... I think I'm ready to start recorroborating my info between brains in astral and physical#bodies..... I think..... I'm ready I'm... I am So fucking End Of Game Where Rain Fades right now and that makes me want to fucking bawl my#eyes out because a) I wasn't allowed in the cult I was in to go near that part of the game bc they told me the character there was alive and#she hated my guts and thought I was disgusting. And b) god the storyline involving her is just so so so so so relevant to my life post-cult#:( you know. Just :(#Diary //#The child returns to her mother the cycle is done the rain clears the ocean is infinite the workings of the cult I mean church are undone#And that doesn't scare me anymore? The cult was so.... Had me thinking that any time that game was brought up they were in control of it#and they would see me and it was their game and they made it alone and I could never just enjoy it as a video game.... It#Still hurts a little but leviathan walked me through allowing it to be neutral and admitting that I see myself in it. Because I tried my#hardest to not admit that thinking that if I did they'd be in my head but mo#No* it's... Its a communal thing. It's allowed to be relatable to a wide audience for neutral reasons. I don't have to break down when I see#it. And I'm allowed to talk about the Sky and I'm allowed to talk about where and when I met Leviathan and I'm allowed to not hide what I do#with him because others may take it as gross exaggerations for bragging rights - I'm allowed to be neutral. Just because at one point in my#life I thought astral projection was only for a select few does not mean now that I do it I have to hide it in case someone like me#takes their insecurity so far that they see my neutral declarations as an attack on them............. Anyway#The Day Sky. My beloved. You mean so much to me. I won't forget my purpose in this incarnation I will not hide it#Thanks Lev#I love that arguably calling him Lev is more controversial than calling him Tengri but it's Not just a nickname lmfao

I think in this new age of A.I. the general public is going to need to increase their photography and lighting literacy. The response to this photo has just been a shit show.
There are people pointing out perfectly normal edge lighting and misunderstanding how reflections work.
First the plane is parked at an angle. The tail is farther back than the nose. But also that is a curved surface and it tapers. It's reflecting the area to the right of the photo.
And the bottom of the plane is reflecting what is directly underneath. Which is the tarmac, not the crowd.
It should also be noted that photo was shot with a very telephoto lens and everything is super compressed. The crowd appears much closer to the airplane than they actually are.
But then someone who should have good understanding of lighting said this...
And now I'm worried for her clients. Because that's very... wrong.
Well, wrong-ish.
First, let's try to understand why this photo is setting off some alarm bells.
The crowd toward the rear is in shadow, but they are still very well exposed. But then there is also a bright light source creating a strong edge light on them. Looking at this photo with just the context of what is in it, there are some things that seem uncanny.
The information we do not have is the people in the shadow area are inside a very brightly lit airplane hangar.
So they have artificial light blasting them from the top.
But that light is still much dimmer than the sunlit areas outside so they appear in shade. But we are used to shade being much darker than areas in direct sun. So the balance seems off in our brain. We expect the people to be darker because we don't have the context of the bright hangar lights above them.
But the other issue is that the photo was post processed. It wasn't manipulated. The pixels weren't changed. But the exposure balance was altered.
If I were to guess, the original photo looked more like this...
But newer digital cameras can have 13 to 15 stops of dynamic range. And if you shoot in RAW, you can easily lift shadows and bring down highlights. You can balance the exposure so the dark parts aren't as dark and the bright parts aren't as bright. This photographer might have overdone it a bit in this case, but this is a fairly standard edit used to bring balance to photos.
And lastly, where does the edge light come from?
Edge lighting or backlighting or rim lighting (all the same) should probably be called wrap-around lighting if you want to be more accurate.
It comes from a homogenous light source that is larger than the subject being lit. So with my knife photo, I placed it on a large LED panel light.
The light source was bigger than the subject so it wrapped around the edges.
And I'm afraid the airplane is not nearly large enough to create a light source to wrap around everyone in the crowd. It isn't even reflecting direct sunlight. So I'm sorry to say that lighting designer was mostly mistaken despite the confidence.
The light source is... everything.
That entire red area I highlighted is the light source.
As well as everything above and everything to the sides.
And the biggest aspect of that light source would be the sky above. I think people always forget the sky is a light source. If you are seeing blue, you are seeing light. And I guess the plane is included in that, but that entire highlighted red area is so bright, and so filled with sunlight bouncing around, that it creates basically a giant softbox. It becomes a huge single light source for the people in the hangar.
If you look at footage taken from way inside the hangar, you can see the camera adjusting exposure for the crowd inside, but look at what happens to the sunlit area outside.
What does that look like?
A giant softbox.
A single homogenous light source blasting light inside the hangar.
The sun is so incredibly bright that even when it is not directly lighting something, the light just bouncing around outside is enough to overpower the very bright hangar lights.
So, what have we learned from this?
Perhaps people should hire me to be their lighting designer.
Though I'm sure she is actually very talented. She seems to work with stage lights and this is more physics and photography.
Phystography.

How to Tame Your Dragon - Malleus Draconia x reader
Since you and Malleus have gotten into a relationship, you've become a bona-fide dragon soother. But whenever you fumble, the entirety of NRC faces the consequences.
aka the 7 times you cause ecological disasters and the 1 time it works out for you.
this is one of my favorite works i hope y'all enjoy it too
Instance 1: The Unbirthday Party Fumble
It all started so innocently, as most disasters do.
You were sitting on a bench in the gardens with Malleus, who was in one of his "look at my shiny things" moods. He had decided to show you his prized possessions from his extensive, possibly cursed, hoard. Usually, this was an easy gig. Youâd nod, say something like âWow, so shiny,â and then give him a kiss. Easy peasy.
But not today.
Because today, your brain decided to take a little vacation while your body stayed behind, stuck on autopilot.
You were half-paying attention, your focus more on the distant ruckus over at Heartslabyulâs tea party, where Ace and Deuce were most definitely in the middle of doing something stupid. Riddle was probably screaming about proper fork placement, Trey was juggling a thousand responsibilities, and Cater was... doing whatever Cater does.
You could hear the faint sounds of plates clinking and people panicking about the sugar cubes being uneven. It was practically a symphony of disaster waiting to happen.
Meanwhile, Malleus was holding up what looked like a teapot. But not just any teapotâthis thing was ornate. Gleaming, intricate patterns, probably blessed by some ancient fae god of beverages. You didnât notice any of that, though.
Instead, when Malleus asked in his deep, romantic, âIâm-giving-you-a-piece-of-my-soulâ voice, âDo you like it, my treasure?â you waved him off like heâd just shown you a half-eaten sandwich.
âYeah, yeah, sure. Looks fine.â
Silence.
Not just any silence. The kind of silence where the air pressure changes and you suddenly realize you mightâve done something very, very bad.
You blinked, finally looking over at Malleus, and oh no. His eyes were narrowed, his lips pursed, and a shadow seemed to fall over himâliterally. The sky darkened as if the heavens were in on his mood. His grip on the teapot tightened, and you could swear the wind started to howl.
Oh, no no no.
The moment you realized your mistake, the storm was already brewing. Quite literally. The sky went from clear to âabout to smite someoneâ in about two seconds flat. You could feel the temperature drop, and leaves started swirling around like they were auditioning for a role in a natural disaster movie.
You were in for it now.
Meanwhile, at the worldâs most cursed tea party:
Riddle was just getting ready to pour the first cup of tea when the wind decided to yeet the tablecloth right off the table. Teacups clattered, pastries took flight, and the entire garden descended into chaos.
âWHAT IN THE NAME OF THE QUEENâS LAWSââ Riddle screamed, clutching a teapot like it was his last lifeline.
Ace, currently dodging a rogue scone, looked over at the sky. âOh, youâve gotta be kidding me. Is this a Malleus thing?â
Deuce, who was using a sugar bowl as a makeshift helmet, shouted over the wind. âItâs always a Malleus thing! Why do I even ask anymore?!â
Cater, hair blown sideways and desperately trying to keep his phone in hand, was trying to snap a selfie in the chaos. âGuys, this is prime MagiCam contentâwait, no, my phoneâs gone!â He dove after it as it got carried away in the wind.
Riddle, already on the verge of a meltdown, turned to Trey, who was trying to shield a cake from the incoming storm. âI demand an explanation!â
Trey, forever the calm one, glanced up. âWell, if I had to guess, Iâd say the prefect did something to upset Malleus.â
âOF COURSE, THEY DID,â Riddle shrieked, practically levitating with fury. âWhy do we suffer every time they breathe near him?!â
âI donât know, but we need to fix it before Riddle explodes!â Ace said, dodging a flying plate.
Deuce grabbed Aceâs arm. âWe need to talk to them! Make them apologize or something!â
And so, in the middle of the flying teapots and pastries of doom, the group sprinted to find you, dodging airborne desserts and Riddleâs wrath.
Back at the epicenter of destruction:
You were still sitting there, eyes wide as you watched Malleus literally brood so hard it summoned a small hurricane. âUh, MalleusâŠ?â
He didnât respond. Nope, he was fully in Pouty Dragon Modeâą. The sky darkened even more, the wind howling, the trees bending, and you could faintly hear the sound of Ace, Deuce, and the others screaming in the distance.
Your casual dismissal of the teapot had, quite literally, ruined lives.
Before you could say anything else, the chaos squad came barreling toward you like a human avalanche, looking like theyâd been through a war zone.
Ace was covered in frosting, Deuce had bits of shattered china stuck in his hair, and Trey was holding onto what looked like the remnants of a cake stand. Cater was still trying to get a selfie in, even though he looked like heâd been through a tornado.
âFIX. THIS.â Ace wheezed, dropping to his knees dramatically. âBEFORE WE ALL DIE.â
âRiddleâs about to combust,â Deuce added, his eyes wide. âPlease. Weâre begging you.â
Trey just gave you a calm look. âIf you donât make this right soon, I donât know if weâll make it to the end of the day.â
You sighed, realizing there was no escape. Youâd have to face the stormâliterallyâand make things right.
Turning back to Malleus, you slid off the bench and stood in front of him, gently tugging on his sleeve. âMalleus?â
His eyes, still stormy, met yours, but he didnât say anything. The wind continued to howl, the sky still dark.
âIâm really sorry,â you said, your voice soft and apologetic. âI didnât mean to dismiss your teapot. Itâs beautiful, really. I was justâŠdistracted.â
Malleusâs eyes narrowed slightly, but the wind died down just a little. Progress.
âIâd never intentionally dismiss something thatâs important to you,â you continued, taking his hand in yours. âPlease forgive me? Iâll pay more attention next time, I promise.â
The storm finally started to calm as Malleusâs expression softened. The sky cleared up, and the wind turned into a gentle breeze.
He sighed dramatically, though it was more theatrical than anything. âVery well, my treasure. I suppose I can forgive you this time. But you owe me proper attention.â
Relieved, you grinned and leaned up to press a kiss to his cheek. âHow about I give you all the attention you want right now?â
That did it. The storm completely vanished, and Malleusâs mood visibly brightened. His arms wrapped around you, pulling you close in a possessive, yet affectionate embrace. âI suppose thatâs acceptable,â he murmured, resting his chin on top of your head.
Behind you, the chaos squad groaned.
âOh, sure,â Ace said, rolling his eyes. âOne cute kiss, and suddenly the hurricane stops. What even is our life?â
âLetâs just never bring up teapots again,â Deuce muttered, shaking bits of pastry out of his hair.
Cater, who had finally managed to get a decent selfie, grinned. âWell, at least we survived!â
You chuckled as Malleus nuzzled into your hair, clearly pleased with your apology. At least for now, disaster had been averted. But something told you that this wouldnât be the last time youâd have to apologize for accidentally setting off your dragon boyfriend.
But hey, at least you had kisses to fix everything, right?
Instance 2: The compliment conundrum
It started as one of those innocent slip-upsâthe kind that makes you wonder why you even opened your mouth in the first place. You were lounging by the side of the spelldrive field, watching NRCâs teams practice. Malleus, busy handling his own royal duties, hadnât been able to make it to practice today, so youâd spent the afternoon watching Leona and his squad dominate the field.
It wasnât like you were doing anything wrong. You were just⊠appreciating talent, right? And Leona was talented. You couldnât help but admire the way he effortlessly dodged tackles, sending spells whizzing through the air with precision. The guy was annoying, sure, but he had undeniable skill.
So when you casually mentioned to Jack and Ruggie, âMan, Leonaâs got some impressive moves,â you thought nothing of it.
Until you felt the ground crack beneath you.
You froze mid-sentence, glancing around as a creeping, eerie silence settled over the field. The other players stopped in their tracks, confusion spreading across their faces. The once lush, green training grounds were slowly transforming before your very eyesâthe grass yellowing, the soil drying, the sky dimming. It was like nature had collectively decided, Nope, weâre out.
Jack blinked at the ground, then at you, his eyes wide with dawning horror. âDid⊠Did you justâ?â
Ruggie, a master of putting two and two together, slapped his hand to his face. âOh, no. Not again.â
Before you could even ask what was happening, you heard the faintest sound of rumbling in the distance, like some ancient, angry being had woken up from its nap. And thatâs when the full weight of your mistake hit you.
Youâd praised Leona. And Malleus, who was more possessive than a dragon guarding his hoard, definitely heard you.
âOh, crap,â you muttered, already starting to backpedal. âOh, crap, crap, crapââ
The drought spread faster, draining every last drop of moisture from the air. The once-pristine spelldrive field now looked like a scene out of some post-apocalyptic desert movie. Cracks snaked across the ground, the once-refreshing breeze now felt like it was straight out of the Sahara, and the remaining players started wheezing from the dry heat.
Leona, of course, was the first to piece things together. He sauntered over, glancing at the parched earth beneath his feet, then back up at you with a deadly glare.
You tried to stammer out an excuse, but Ruggie was already grabbing your arm and yanking you toward the nearest path off the field. Jack, looking somewhere between worried and resigned, trailed after you.
âListen,â Ruggie said in a panic, âwe gotta fix this now, or the whole schoolâs gonna turn into a wasteland.â
âI didnât mean to!â you protested as they half-dragged you across the desertified landscape. âIt was just a compliment!â
âYou canât just compliment Leona when youâre dating Malleus!â Jack huffed, sweat dripping from his forehead as the oppressive heat intensified. âYou should know better by now!â
You felt a bead of sweat trickle down your temple as you tried to keep up with their frantic pace. âI didnât know he was that possessive!â
âOh, he is,â Ruggie muttered, glancing nervously at the sky. âAnd heâs sulking. You know what that means.â
You groaned. Yes, you did know what that meant. A sulking Malleus equaled world-ending storms, natural disasters, and in this caseâapocalyptic droughts.
Leona, who had followed you guys, clearly had enough of this nonsense. He stomped up behind you, glaring daggers. âYouâve ruined my field,â he growled, voice dripping with irritation. âDo me a favor and never say anything nice about me again.â
âDonât worry, Leona,â you sighed, exasperated. âIâll only insult you from now on. Promise.â
âGood,â Leona grumbled, adjusting his collar. âNow fix your dragon before I lose my mind.â
By the time you reached Malleus, the situation had reached catastrophic levels. The entire island felt like it was one sunny day away from turning into a desert. The sky was an angry, cloudless blue, and even the birds had fled, probably deciding they didnât want to risk spontaneous combustion.
And there, in the middle of the courtyard, sat your dragon boyfriend, arms crossed, looking as grumpy as youâd ever seen him. His aura was practically radiating misery.
âMalleus,â you called out, panting from the trek across the sun-baked campus.
He turned his head slightly, just enough to acknowledge your presence, but didnât say a word. His lips were pressed into a thin line, his eyes narrowed, and you could practically see the pout written all over his face.
Ruggie gave you a light shove. âWell, go on. Apologize before we all die of thirst.â
You shot him a look, but he wasnât wrong. Sighing, you stepped closer to Malleus and knelt beside him, placing a gentle hand on his arm. âHey⊠I didnât mean to upset you.â
He huffed, his gaze fixed stubbornly ahead. âYou praised another.â
âI didnât realize it was such a big deal,â you said softly, leaning your head on his shoulder. âI swear, I didnât mean anything by it. I only have eyes for you, you know that.â
Malleus remained silent for a moment, but you could feel his mood softening. The tension in the air eased ever so slightly, the heat less intense, the grass no longer crumbling beneath your feet.
âI donât like sharing your admiration,â he murmured, still not quite looking at you. âEspecially with him.â
âLeonaâs not a threat,â you chuckled, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek. âHeâs too busy napping to notice, anyway.â
That earned a tiny smirk from Malleus, though he was clearly still in sulk mode. You couldnât help but smile as you nuzzled into his neck, placing little butterfly kisses along his jawline. âCome on⊠Iâll make it up to you. Iâll praise you for hours if you want. No one is more worthy of my compliments than you.â
That finally did the trick. His stiff posture relaxed, and he let out a deep sigh. âVery well,â he murmured, turning his head to look at you. âI suppose I can forgive you⊠this time.â
You grinned, wrapping your arms around his waist and snuggling into his chest. âThank you, Your Highness.â
Malleus, now fully basking in your affection, wrapped his arms around you and rested his chin on top of your head. The sky finally returned to normal, the air cooling down, and the earth itself seemed to let out a relieved sigh.
Meanwhile, back on the now-saved-from-death spelldrive field, Leona collapsed onto the cracked ground with an annoyed grunt. âI swear, if they ever break up, Iâm moving to a different continent.â
âHonestly, same,â Ruggie groaned, lying down beside him. Jack just nodded in agreement, too tired to even complain.
But as the world finally returned to normal, and you cuddled up against your not-so-grumpy-anymore dragon boyfriend, you couldnât help but think that maybeâjust maybeâyouâd be more careful with your compliments from now on.
âŠMaybe.
Instance 3: Dinner Downpour
It had started out as an innocent evening. Just you, Malleus, and a nice dinner at the Mostro Lounge. You figured it was a good ideaâa cozy meal, some quiet time away from the usual chaos. Plus, Malleus had never been to the Lounge before, and you wanted to show him a little piece of what passed for fine dining at NRC.
Everything was going smoothly. The candlelight cast a soft glow over the table, and Malleus seemed to be enjoying himself, even if he occasionally side-eyed the giant aquariums and questionable dishes swimming in ink. You were halfway through your meal when it happened. The moment that would soon be known as The Great Mostro Lounge Flood of the Century.
Malleus, eyes warm and his tone utterly princely, leaned toward you as the waiter left the bill on the table. âAllow me to cover this,â he said, reaching for his walletâor whatever it was that dragons carry their horde in. âI would like to treat you.â
You, not sensing the danger, waved him off with a smile. âNo need, Malleus. Iâve got this.â
Oh no.
If you could rewind time, maybe you wouldâve noticed the way his expression faltered ever so slightly. The tiniest furrow of his brow, the faint tightening of his grip on his silverware. But you didnât. You were oblivious. You, poor unfortunate soul, paid the bill yourself.
And thatâs when the first clap of thunder rolled through the building.
It didnât take long for things to go from zero to weâre-all-gonna-die levels of chaos. The sky outside darkened almost instantly, rain pouring down like the heavens had just decided to empty all their buckets at once. But it wasnât just rainâoh no, this was a full-blown, hurricane-tier downpour. Lightning flashed, illuminating the shocked faces of the Mostro Lounge patrons as water started seeping in through the windows.
Inside, chaos erupted. The once-elegant ambiance of the Mostro Lounge turned into something out of a disaster movie. Jade was frantically trying to keep the dining area dry with what looked like twenty towels, but the water just kept rising. Floyd was sitting on top of a table, cackling at the sheer absurdity of it all, while Azul was on the verge of a mental breakdown, clutching his ledger to his chest as if it could somehow save him from bankruptcy.
âWHAT DID YOU DO?!â Azulâs voice broke through the chaos as he practically teleported to your side, grabbing you by the shoulders and shaking you like a maraca.
âIâI donât know!â you stammered, still processing the fact that the place was flooding. âWe were just having dinner!â
âOh, you were âjust having dinner,ââ Azul mocked, his voice climbing an octave as the water level rose past your ankles. âSure, just dinnerâand now Iâm watching my profits swim away!â
Jade appeared next, a suspiciously calm smile on his face despite the absolute catastrophe around him. âYou didnât happen to upset the prince of Briar Valley, did you?â
Floyd leaned in, grinning like a maniac. âYeah, did ya snub him or somethinâ? This is hilarious.â
Your face paled. Oh no. You replayed the scene in your headâthe offer to pay, your refusalâand realization hit you like one of the lightning bolts currently striking outside. âOh my god. Heâs upset because I didnât let him pay.â
âThatâs it?!â Floyd burst out laughing, clutching his sides. âAll this âcause you didnât let him foot the bill? Man, thatâs rich!â
Azulâs eye twitched. âFix. This. Now.â
âI didnât think it was that big of a deal!â you protested, feeling the water slosh against your calves as the storm outside intensified. âI just wanted to treat him for once!â
âClearly, that was a mistake,â Jade said, entirely too serene for someone standing in knee-deep water. âI suggest you⊠rectify it.â
âRectify it,â Azul echoed, his eyes narrowing dangerously. âOr I swear Iâll have you and your little dragon both in debt until youâre ancient fossils.â
Floyd, still howling with laughter, gave you a light shove toward the entrance. âBetter hurry, Shrimpy, before we gotta start charging people for canoe rentals!â
You rushed outside, braving the storm as the winds whipped around you. The ground was already flooded, rain pelting down so hard you could barely see two feet in front of you. But there, standing in the middle of it all like some tragic figure from a gothic romance novel, was Malleus.
He wasnât even trying to shield himself from the rainâhe just stood there, soaked, staring up at the stormy sky as if summoning the wrath of the heavens. His mood was palpable, the air around him crackling with discontent.
âMalleus!â you called out, running over and nearly slipping in a puddle. âMalleus, wait!â
He glanced down at you, a flash of vulnerability in his eyes quickly masked by his usual regal composure. âI thought⊠I could treat you. It seems you do not trust me to do even that.â
You winced. He wasnât angry, not really. He was hurt. You shouldâve known betterâMalleus was always thinking about how to show you he cared, and this was just one more way for him to do that. And youâd brushed him off without realizing the significance.
âHey, thatâs not it at all,â you said softly, stepping closer and taking his hands in yours. âI just⊠I wanted to treat you this time. But I didnât realize how important it was to you.â
The storm rumbled ominously overhead, but you could feel his mood starting to shift.
You squeezed his hands, standing on your tiptoes to press a kiss to his cheek. âIâm sorry, Malleus. I didnât mean to make you feel like I didnât appreciate it. You always take such good care of me.â
His shoulders relaxed slightly, the tension easing from his posture. âI simply wished to show you how much I treasure our time together.â
âAnd I treasure you,â you said, giving him a gentle smile. âSo how about thisâIâll let you treat me next time. Dinner, ice cream, whatever you want. Youâre in charge.â
The corners of his mouth lifted ever so slightly. âYou promise?â
âI promise,â you replied, kissing him again for good measure. âBut for now, maybe we could, uh⊠ease up on the weather a bit? I think Azulâs about to have a heart attack.â
Malleus chuckled softly, the storm clouds above beginning to break apart as the rain slowed to a drizzle. âVery well. I shall spare themâfor now.â
Back inside the Lounge, Azul was clinging to his precious ledger like a lifeline, watching with wide eyes as the floodwaters slowly receded. The place was still a soaked mess, but at least it wasnât Atlantis anymore.
Floyd, leaning against the bar, gave you a lazy grin as you walked back in, hand-in-hand with Malleus. âWell, looks like you managed to cool down your dragon, huh? Good job, Shrimpy.â
Jade smiled pleasantly, though you could tell there was relief in his gaze. âThe Lounge owes you a great debt.â
Azul, drenched and looking like heâd aged ten years, just sighed. âPlease. Next time⊠just let him pay.â
You grinned sheepishly. âNoted.â
Malleus, still holding your hand, glanced down at you with a fond expression. âShall we continue our evening?â
You smiled up at him, feeling the warmth of his affection, even if he had almost accidentally drowned the entire restaurant. âYeah, letâs go.â
And as you left the Mostro Lounge, water still dripping from the ceiling and Floydâs laughter echoing behind you, you couldnât help but think that for all the chaos that came with dating the prince of Briar Valley, it was worth every second.
Instance 4: Deserted Dreams
It all started with an innocent suggestion over breakfast. You and Malleus were sitting at your usual spot in Diasomnia, peacefully munching on breakfast. Things were nice, calmâMalleus was in a good mood, the sun was shining, and there hadnât been any catastrophic magical incidents for a solid two days.
But, of course, you just had to ruin it.
"So," you said, casually buttering a slice of toast, "I was thinking⊠maybe for our next vacation, instead of going to Briar Valley again, we could head over to the Scalding Sands? I heard Kalim raving about the heat and all the festivals, and I thought it might be fun to experience a little warmth for a change."
Malleus, who had been sipping his tea, froze. He looked at you, his eyes wide and a bit too intense. "The Scalding Sands?" he repeated slowly.
"Yeah, you knowâsun, sand, maybe a beach or two. Something different!" You smiled, clearly not reading the massive red flags flying in the air. "I mean, donât get me wrong, Briar Valley is great and all, but we always go there. I thought a change of scenery would be nice!"
And that, was when the Dorms of Scarabia and Diasomnia turned into a hellish desert wasteland.
It started slowlyâjust a bit of extra heat creeping into the room, making you fidget in your seat. Then it escalated. The temperature spiked dramatically, and before you knew it, the dorm felt like someone had thrown open the gates to the underworld and invited the sun to personally burn it all down. You swore you could hear the sound of sand shifting beneath your feet, though you were still indoors. Indoors, for crying out loud!
Malleus sat in silence, clearly displeased. His usual dark, moody aura was now tinged with the kind of slow-boiling frustration that made you realize: youâd made a huge mistake.
Just as you were about to apologize and backpedal your way out of the desertification of Diasomnia and Scarabia, a loud crash echoed from outside, followed by a chorus of complaints.
You stepped out of the dorm and were met with chaos. The whole area around Diasomnia had transformed into an arid, sweltering desert. The grass? Gone. The trees? Withered. The nice, cool breeze that used to blow through? Now replaced by blistering heat waves. Students were dragging themselves around, sweating profusely as the once lush grounds became a scorching wasteland.
At the heart of the chaos stood Kalim, as cheerful as ever, while a very sweaty and very done Jamil stood nearby, looking like he had reached the end of his rope.
Jamil spotted you immediately and marched over, steam practically rising off his skin. âWhat did you do?!â he hissed, looking like he was five seconds away from spontaneous combustion.
"Iâ" you stammered, glancing at Kalim, who was happily waving a fan like he was at a resort.
"Isnât this great?!" Kalim chirped, smiling ear to ear. "It feels just like home! Now we can have all the desert parties we want! Thanks for the heatwave!"
You blinked. "Um⊠youâre welcome?"
"No," Jamil interjected, glaring at you like youâd personally set him on fire. âDonât thank them! What possessed you to turn Scarabia into a furnace?!â
You grimaced, wiping sweat from your brow. âItâs not my fault! I just suggested we vacation in the Scalding Sands instead of Briar Valley andâ"
"You did what?!" Jamil pinched the bridge of his nose. "So because you didnât want to vacation in Briar Valley, this happens? Do you know how long itâs going to take to get the dorm back to normal? Or the fact that Iâm now stuck babysitting Kalim in what feels like the surface of the sun?"
Kalim, still oblivious to the suffering around him, beamed. âYou should make up with Malleus! Then maybe we can have two vacations!â
Jamilâs eye twitched.
It didnât take long before you were escorted (dragged) back to Malleus, courtesy of a very sunburned Jamil and a still-chipper Kalim. They deposited you at the door to Diasomnia, giving you the kind of look that screamed fix this, or weâll make you regret it.
Sighing, you pushed the door open and stepped inside. Unsurprisingly, it was even hotter indoors than it had been outside. Malleus was sitting in the corner of the common room, his arms crossed and his gaze distant, like he was contemplating the deep mysteries of lifeâor brooding over your vacation suggestion. Probably the latter.
âMalleus?â you called softly, approaching him carefully as the air around him practically sizzled with residual magic.
He didnât respond, still looking like a dragon that had just been told his gold stash was getting replaced with copper coins.
You sighed and knelt down in front of him. âIâm sorry,â you said, resting a hand on his knee. âI didnât mean to make you upset. I just thought itâd be nice to see a new place, but if you want to go back to Briar Valley, thatâs totally fine. We can go wherever you want.â
Malleus blinked, finally looking down at you, his expression softening ever so slightly. âYou wished to travel somewhere unfamiliar,â he murmured, his voice low. âI should have taken your desires into account. But⊠the thought of you preferring another land over mine⊠it unsettled me.â
You blinked. âWait, is that what this is about? Malleus, I love Briar Valley! I just wanted to try something new, but it doesnât mean I donât want to go back. We could go anywhere, and Iâd be happy as long as Iâm with you.â
He softened even more, the heat in the room fading as his magic began to relax. âYou mean that?â
You smiled and leaned up, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek. âOf course I do.â
His arms, once tense, reached out to pull you into his lap, holding you close as if the idea of you slipping away to some other land without him had weighed far too heavily on his mind. You snuggled into him, feeling the last traces of heatwave melt away into nothing but warmth and comfort.
Malleus nuzzled his face into your hair, his voice a soft rumble. âThen we shall go wherever your heart desires. As long as we are together.â
You chuckled, pressing another kiss to his jaw. âOkay, deal. But, uh, maybe we avoid any more heatwave-related disasters? Jamil might actually combust next time.â
Malleus chuckled softly, his mood lightening as he held you close. âVery well. I shall spare them from further torment⊠this time.â
And as you cuddled into him, the remnants of the desert wasteland outside slowly returning to normal, you couldnât help but think that as long as you had Malleus (and could keep him happy), the worldâweather catastrophes includedâwould be just fine.
Instance 5: Fashion Fiasco
You and Malleus were at one of Vilâs fashion shows, sitting in the audience with everyone else as Vil strutted his stuff on the runway, looking absolutely flawless as per usual. The lights sparkled, the music boomed, and Vil practically radiated beauty and grace in an outfit that could only be described as something plucked straight from a dream.
"Wow," you breathed, eyes wide as you watched Vil pose dramatically at the end of the runway. "Vil really does look amazing, doesnât he? Like, how is anyone supposed to compete with that level of perfection?"
Malleus, sitting beside you, went absolutely still.
It didnât register right away. You were too busy marveling at Vilâs next ensemble to notice Malleus stiffening beside you, his eyes narrowing ever so slightly. But as the next model waltzed down the runway, you felt a sudden chill in the air. Literally.
You blinked. Was it just you, or was it⊠colder? You glanced up at the ceiling, frowning as tiny snowflakes started to drift down from nowhere. The air grew icy, your breath visible as the temperature plummeted in mere seconds.
"What theâ" You stood up, just in time to see the entire fashion show being transformed into a literal winter wonderland. Snow was now falling heavily, frosting over the runway, the lights, and, most importantly, Vilâs perfect hair.
The shriek that followed was one of pure, unbridled horror.
âNo! My HAIR!â Vil screeched, desperately clutching his head as snowflakes clung to his golden locks, which were slowly wilting under the weight of the ice. âThis is a disaster!â
Models fled the scene, their designer clothes dragging through snowdrifts that were rapidly accumulating on stage. The music cut off, the audience panicked, and Vil looked like he was about five seconds away from declaring the end of the world.
Amidst the chaos, Rook Hunt stood in the middle of the snowy storm, spinning in circles with glee. âMagnifique!â he cried, twirling with open arms as if he were auditioning for a Broadway production of Frozen. âThe raw beauty of nature meets the elegance of fashionâoh, how the world has blessed us with this miracle of frost!â
âROOK!â Vil screeched again, eyes wide and wild as he triedâand failedâto maintain some sense of composure. âThis is NOT a miracle! This is a CATASTROPHE! My showâmy hair!â
Epel, looking somewhere between terrified and confused, rushed up to you, nearly slipping on the snow-covered floor in his haste. âWe need your help!â he gasped, grabbing your arm and shaking it with the desperation of someone who knew what was at stake here. âYou have to do something! Malleus is causing the storm!â
You blinked, still processing the fact that this wasnât just some freak weather event but a full-on emotional meltdown from your very moody fae boyfriend.
âMalleus is⊠mad?â you asked, finally connecting the dots.
âOf course heâs mad!â Epel huffed, snowflakes clinging to his own purple hair. âYou complimented Vil! Now he thinks you like Vil more than him! Weâre all gonna freeze to death if you donât fix it!â
âOh⊠oh no.â
It took a few minutes (and a shove from a panicked Vil) to find Malleus, who had retreated to the far corner of the room, looking like a grumpy snow dragon with his arms crossed and snowflakes swirling around him. His expression was dark, brooding, and way too dramatic for someone who was causing a blizzard in the middle of a fashion show.
You approached cautiously, trying not to slip on the ice that was now coating the floor. âMalleus?â you called softly, inching closer. âAre you⊠okay?â
He glanced at you, his eyes narrowing slightly. âI see you were quite taken with Vilâs appearance today.â
You blinked, a bit thrown off by the sheer seriousness in his tone. âUh, I mean⊠yeah, Vilâs always beautiful. But, um, you know thatâs just how he is. Itâs his whole thing.â
Malleusâs frown deepened. âSo you find him more beautiful than me.â
Oh. Oh.
You nearly facepalmed at the realization. âMalleus, no, thatâs not what I meant!â you rushed to say, waving your hands in a flustered manner. âVil is beautiful, but youâyouâre, like, otherworldly! You know, fae beauty and all that. No one could possibly compare!â
Malleus eyed you warily, his lips pursed. âSo⊠you do not prefer him over me?"
âOf course not!â you said quickly, stepping closer to place a hand on his arm. âYouâre the most beautiful person I know. No one comes close to your level of magnificence, I swear.â
There was a long, heavy pause. Then, ever so slowly, the storm began to die down. The snowflakes stopped falling, the icy chill in the air dissipated, and the temperature returned to normal. Malleusâs expression softened, his moody sulk fading as he looked down at you with a much gentler gaze.
âIs that truly how you feel?â he asked quietly, his voice tinged with vulnerability.
You smiled up at him, standing on your tiptoes to press a soft kiss to his cheek. âOf course, Malleus. Youâre my favorite, always.â
Malleus visibly brightened at that, his usual regal aura returning as he wrapped his arms around you, pulling you close in a warm embrace. âVery well, then. I shall forgive this transgression. But only because you have reassured me of your affections.â
You giggled, snuggling into his chest. âIâll make sure to tell you more often how beautiful you are.â
Vil then walks directly up to you and stares you down. "If you're done wrecking my show, could ypu please keep your dragon in check?"
All you can do is grin sheepishly at him.
Instance 6: Gaming Shenanigans
It all started because of that one last raid. You and Idia were deep in an epic gaming marathon, tackling a boss so difficult that even Idiaâself-proclaimed gaming godâhad to break out his limited-edition controller. It was all good fun, hours flying by without you even noticing, as you spammed attacks and worked together like the perfect gaming duo you were.
That is, until Idia hit you with a question that made your stomach drop.
"So, uh, aren't you supposed to, like... do something tonight?" Idia asked, mid-battle. His voice was a little too casual, almost like he already knew the answer but was waiting for you to figure it out yourself.
You froze for a split second, still pressing buttons but no longer fully paying attention. Something... tonight? What could heâ
Oh no.
You had plans tonight. With Malleus.
Specifically, your nightly walks around campus, which had become somewhat of a ritual. Every night, youâd stroll through the darkened grounds, hand-in-hand, talking about anything and everything. It was Malleusâs favorite part of the dayâsomething he eagerly looked forward to.
And youâd⊠forgotten.
Your eyes darted to your phone, which was lying face down on the desk, completely ignored for the last several hours. You didnât even need to check it to know what youâd find: missed calls, unread messages, probably a voicemail or two from Malleus, wondering where you were.
"Oh no," you whispered, voice barely audible over the sounds of explosions and battle cries on screen.
"Wait, what?" Idiaâs character paused for a second as he glanced at you. "Did you just say 'oh no'? What 'oh no'? Are we talking minor 'oh no' or, like, 'I've-angered-a-final-boss-oh-no'?"
You gulped, heart sinking as you realized just how much trouble you were in. "Um... the second one. Definitely the second one."
Before Idia could even react, the room went dark. The power cut out so fast, you barely had time to process it. The glow of the screens, the hum of electronicsâall gone, leaving only the soft pitter-patter of rain against the window.
Idia's horrified gasp echoed through the sudden silence.
"No. No, no, no, no, noâthis canât be happening! We were in the middle of a raid!â His hands flew to his hair, the blue flames flickering wildly as panic set in. "Dude, you forgot your dragon?!"
The color drained from your face as the gravity of the situation fully hit. âIâumâgot distracted?â
Idiaâs eyes widened, and he stood up so fast his chair rolled backwards. "Distracted?! You forgot about your nightly walks with the dragon fae, and now weâre sitting in a power outage caused by his emotional spiral?!â
In the faint glow of Idiaâs flame-lit hair, you saw Ortho zip into the room, looking far too calm given the circumstances. âI detected a sudden shift in weather patterns around campus. It seems like the storm has caused a widespread blackout. Should I assume itâs related to Malleus Draconiaâs emotional state?â
"YES!" Idia practically screeched, pointing at you in betrayal. "They ditched Malleus for gaming, and now weâre all suffering the consequences! Ortho, tell them to fix it, please! I beg you!â
Ortho turned to you with his usual chipper smile. âI suggest you go to Malleus and make amends before the entire campus loses power. Iâve already calculated a 98% chance that further emotional distress will result in structural damage to the dorm.â
Idia groaned, burying his face in his hands. âThis is why you never piss off boss-level boyfriends. Itâs just common sense.â
So, thatâs how you found yourself trudging through the stormy night, rain soaking your clothes as you made your way to find Malleus. The lightning flashed overhead, thunder rumbling ominously as you approached the usual meeting spot for your nightly walks.
And there he wasâstanding alone, looking very much like the picture of heartbreak. His tall figure was framed by the pouring rain, his expression a perfect blend of hurt and brooding. The storm seemed to swirl around him, almost as if it were a physical manifestation of his emotions.
âMalleus,â you called out, rushing toward him, your voice barely audible over the sound of rain. âIâm so sorry!â
He turned slowly, his eyes glinting in the dim light. âYou did not answer my calls.â
âI know, I know! I got caught up in a game with Idia, and I didnât check my phone, andâwell, now we have a blackout.â
His lips twitched ever so slightly, his gaze softening just a fraction. âYou left me waiting, and the storm came.â
You winced, feeling a pang of guilt. âI didnât mean to forget about our walk. I love spending time with youâI swear.â
Malleus let out a soft sigh, his shoulders relaxing just a bit. âI do not wish to be a burden to you.â
âBurden?â you echoed, stepping closer until you were right in front of him, the rain pouring down between you. âMalleus, youâre not a burden. I love our walks. I love spending time with you. I just⊠lost track of time. Thatâs all.â
For a moment, there was silence, the only sound being the rain hitting the ground. Then, to your surprise, Malleus looked away, a faint hint of vulnerability in his expression. âDo you⊠truly mean that?â
Without thinking, you reached up, gently cupping his face in your hands. âOf course I do. Thereâs no one Iâd rather be with.â
Malleusâs gaze softened further, and slowlyâso slowlyâthe storm began to quiet. The rain lessened, the wind died down, and the oppressive atmosphere that had settled over the campus lifted. He stared at you for a long moment, searching your face as if looking for any sign of doubt. When he found none, he finally let out a soft chuckle, the corners of his mouth turning up in a faint smile.
âYou always manage to calm me,â he murmured, leaning into your touch.
You smiled back, feeling warmth spread through your chest despite the cold rain. âI guess Iâm just good at soothing dragons.â
Malleus raised a brow, amusement dancing in his eyes. âPerhaps.â
The rain had stopped entirely by now, leaving only a light mist in the air. You let out a relieved sigh, brushing some stray raindrops off Malleusâs cheek before standing on your tiptoes to press a soft kiss to his lips.
âIâll never forget our walks again,â you whispered against his lips, earning a quiet hum of approval from him.
âI shall hold you to that,â he replied, his voice warm with affection. âNow, shall we take that walk?â
You nodded, intertwining your fingers with his. The world felt calmer now, the storm gone, replaced by the soft glow of moonlight breaking through the clouds. Malleusâs mood had lifted entirely, and as the two of you strolled through the now-quiet campus, you couldnât help but feel content.
And, of course, Idia and Orthoâs screens flickered back to life, much to their relief.
Instance 7: Dessert Disaster
The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and you were about to partake in a picnic with none other than Malleus, Lilia, Silver, and Sebek. Everything was perfect. The blanket was laid out beneath a sprawling tree, food arranged carefully across itâcourtesy of Malleus himself, who had spent hours in the kitchen the night before, preparing what he considered to be the piĂšce de rĂ©sistance: a pie.
Not just any pie. No, this was a Malleus Draconia-crafted masterpiece. The filling was made from rare berries heâd harvested himself, the crust baked to a perfect golden brown. You could practically smell the love (and maybe a little lightning) that had gone into it.
Malleus, with a glint of pride in his eyes, carefully handed you a slice. "I hope it meets your expectations, my love."
You eagerly took a bite, eyes widening as the flavors exploded on your tongue. It was amazing. No, better than amazingâit was downright phenomenal. How did he even manage to bake something this good? A prince of darkness and a master chef? This was unfair.
"This slaps," you declared, totally unaware of the impending doom those words were about to unleash.
The moment the words left your mouth, you noticed a visible shift in Malleusâs expression. The proud smile heâd worn just seconds ago faltered, his brow furrowing in confusion. His green eyes darkened, clouds suddenly appearing overhead. You could feel the electricity in the air as the temperature dropped.
"I see," Malleus murmured, voice tight. "So⊠you dislike it."
Wait. What?
You blinked, realization dawning far too slowly. Oh no.
Before you could correct him, Malleus was already raising his hand, a faint crackle of magic sparking between his fingers. You could practically hear the thunder rumbling in the distance as he stared down at the pie slice in your hand, preparing to smite the poor, innocent pastry.
"No, no, no, noâwait!" You waved your arms frantically, standing up so fast you nearly tripped over the picnic blanket.
Sebek, meanwhile, had already leapt to his feet, eyes blazing with righteous fury. "How dare you insult Master Malleusâs baking?!" he shouted, fists clenched. "His skill is unmatched, and yet you have the audacity to call his creationâ"
"Sebek." Silverâs voice, calm but firm, interrupted the impending tirade. He was still sitting, but his eyes were half-open now, watching the situation unfold with mild concern. "They didnât mean it that way."
Lilia, on the other hand, was having the time of his life. He was absolutely delighted by the chaos unfolding, his laughter ringing out across the clearing. "Oh, this is too good!" he cackled, practically rolling on the blanket. "I havenât seen this much excitement at a picnic in centuries! You modern humans and your strange expressions never fail to entertain!"
You shot him a look that screamed, Please stop encouraging this.
Silver, bless his soul, finally spoke up again, this time turning his attention to you. "You might want to explain before the weather gets worse." He nodded toward the now very ominous-looking clouds gathering above Malleus.
Right. Explaining. You could do that.
You turned back to Malleus, who still looked like he was contemplating whether to zap the pie or not. You could tell his feelings were hurtâhis brow was furrowed, his lips set in a tight line. And the thought of him feeling like that, all because of a misunderstanding, made your heart clench.
"Malleus," you said, stepping closer and reaching for his hand. "When I said âthis slaps,â I meant itâs really good. Like, insanely good. Amazing. Best pie Iâve ever had."
Malleusâs stormy expression faltered slightly, though the dark clouds remained. "But you said it âslaps.â"
"Thatâs modern slang," you explained, gently squeezing his hand. "Itâs a compliment. I promise."
Malleus blinked, the magic at his fingertips dissipating as he processed your words. "So⊠you enjoyed it?"
"Absolutely. You knocked it out of the park with this pie." You gave him your most reassuring smile. "I could eat the whole thing."
The storm clouds began to thin, sunlight peeking through once more. Malleus tilted his head, considering this new information, and slowlyâvery slowlyâa smile returned to his face.
"It pleases me to hear that," he said, his voice softening.
Meanwhile, Sebek was still standing there, sputtering indignantly. "W-Well, if thatâs what they meant, then⊠of course Master Malleusâs pie is the best! I knew that all along!"
Lilia, still chuckling, waved a dismissive hand at Sebek. "Oh, calm down, boy. No harm done. Besides, now we know modern slang! What other fascinating phrases do you have, I wonder?"
Silver sighed, finally sitting up properly. "Maybe letâs avoid any more slang for today."
With the situation calming down, you took the opportunity to lean in closer to Malleus, brushing a soft kiss against his cheek. "Iâm really sorry for the confusion," you murmured. "Youâre an amazing baker, and your pie is delicious. I meant that, okay?"
Malleusâs cheeks flushed ever so slightly at the affection, and he gave a small nod. "I believe you."
Feeling a wave of relief wash over you, you pressed another kiss to his lips, slow and tender, savoring the warmth of his skin and the way his hand gently squeezed yours in return. The last of the clouds above you finally cleared, leaving the sky blue and bright once more. The storm was over, and everything was at peace again.
"Shall we enjoy the rest of our picnic, then?" Malleus asked, his voice much lighter now.
You nodded enthusiastically, sitting back down beside him. "Absolutely. And just so weâre clearâyour food? Total banger."
Malleus raised a brow, clearly still unfamiliar with the term but now much more accepting of your strange modern ways. "I see. I shall take that as a compliment."
Sebek, still recovering from his earlier outrage, grumbled something under his breath, but you didnât care. Lilia was still snickering, Silver was finally getting comfortable again, and Malleus was happy. Everything was right in the world.
And hey, now you knewâif you ever wanted to spice things up at a picnic, all it took was a little modern slang.
Instance 8: Destruction of NRC (Well, almost)
Crowleyâs âmagnanimous natureâ was, quite frankly, killing you. Whether it was sorting mountains of paperwork, being sent on endless errands, or handling Grimâs regular chaos, you were exhausted. Every muscle in your body ached, your eyes had dark circles deeper than any pit, and you were pretty sure you were on your third day of functioning on nothing but caffeine and sheer spite.
Grim, bless his fiery little heart, watched you from his perch on your bed, tail flicking in irritation as you barely managed to drag yourself into Ramshackle after another long, thankless day.
âUgh, henchhuman! You look like death warmed over,â Grim sniffed, narrowing his eyes at you. âHow long do you plan on letting that featherbrained Crowley walk all over you?â
You groaned, flopping face-first into your pillow. âAs long as it takes to survive this semester, Grim. No one else is going to deal with his nonsense. Not like I have a choice.â
Grim was silent for a moment, watching you with uncharacteristic concern. Then, in a low mumble, he said, âWell, Iâve had enough. Youâre my henchhuman, and I wonât let him destroy you.â
You thought Grim was just being dramatic. But when you woke up the next morning to the sound of distant thunder rumbling ominously across the sky, you had a very, very bad feeling.
By the time you made it to NRC, the situation was in full swing. You arrived just in time to witness Crowley practically on his knees, looking like a man who had stared death in the face and lived to tell the taleâbarely.
The sky above NRC was pitch black, clouds swirling and crackling with magic as the wind howled through the campus. A storm of epic proportions had descended, and it wasnât just any storm. This was a Malleus Draconia-grade storm. The kind that didnât just bring rain or windâit brought devastation, and everyone was cowering indoors, peeking through windows, afraid to go outside.
Crowley spotted you immediately, rushing over with his cape flapping dramatically behind him as he stumbled, nearly slipping in the mud.
âPlease,â he cried, hands clutching your shoulders as if you were his last lifeline. âPlease, you must calm him down! I beg of you, prefect, do something!â
You raised a brow, half-expecting some pitiful excuse, but the Headmaster, in all his avian glory, had gone straight to the begging stage. âWhat did you do this time?â you sighed, knowing it had to be his fault.
âI did nothing! Absolutely nothing! Well, perhaps Iâve⊠been a little harsh on you, but thatâs no reason for him to destroy the entire campus!â Crowley wailed, looking pitiful as a gust of wind nearly knocked him off balance.
âIâll pay you! Iâll pay you an actual wage! Iâll give you a budget to renovate Ramshackle, and Iâll personally sponsor your vacation! Just pleaseâstop him before thereâs nothing left of Night Raven College!â
You blinked. Did⊠did you just get a salary offer? And a vacation? And a renovation budget? This was new.
Before you could process the sheer absurdity of the situation, Professor Crewel passed by with his coat dramatically billowing in the wind. âHonestly,â he muttered under his breath, âabout time that birdbrain faced some consequences for his incompetence.â
Professor Trein, walking with his trusty feline Lucius, shook his head gravely. âAt this point, the Headmaster deserves everything thatâs coming to him.â
âDo you not see the storm?!â Crowley shrieked, pointing to the lightning that was now dangerously close to striking the bell tower.
Both professors exchanged a look before continuing on their way, Crewel muttering something about how this was Crowleyâs mess to fix.
You couldnât help but feel a small twinge of satisfaction seeing the Headmaster squirm. But at the same time, NRC was at risk of being blown off the map if you didnât act soon. And judging by the way Grim was laughing maniacally in the corner, proudly declaring how he âfixedâ your problems, this was going to be on you to clean up.
With a sigh, you gave Crowley a nod. âFine. Iâll talk to him. But if you go back on any of those promisesââ
âI wonât!â Crowley promised, hands clasped as if in prayer. âI swear on the very foundation of this school, you will be compensated!â
You rolled your eyes but turned on your heel to head toward Diasomnia. The storm seemed to know you were coming, the wind parting just enough to allow you passage. The moment you stepped into the courtyard, the thunder seemed to quiet, though lightning still flashed ominously in the distance.
And there, standing at the center of it all, was Malleus. His expression was dark, eyes glowing faintly as he stared up at the storm heâd summoned. His hands were clasped behind his back, and even with his composed stance, you could sense the simmering frustration beneath the surface.
You approached carefully, calling out softly, âMalleus?â
His head turned slightly at the sound of your voice, though he didnât fully look at you. âAh, my love. I see youâve arrived.â
You moved closer, placing a gentle hand on his arm. âGrim told you whatâs been going on, didnât he?â
âI cannot stand to see you work yourself to exhaustion for that foolish crow,â Malleus muttered, still staring at the storm. âHe takes advantage of your kindness. It is unforgivable.â
You couldnât help the warmth that spread through your chest. He was genuinely upsetâfor you. But, you also couldnât let NRC be reduced to rubble, and you needed to calm him down before it got worse.
With a soft chuckle, you stepped in front of him, gently cupping his face in your hands. âItâs okay. I appreciate how much you care about me, but you donât have to destroy the school over this.â
Malleusâs eyes finally met yours, the storm above softening ever so slightly. âBut youâre suffering.â
âI was,â you admitted, pressing a kiss to his forehead. âBut not anymore. Crowleyâs going to make it up to meâhe promised me a wage, a renovation budget for Ramshackle, and a vacation.â
That seemed to catch his attention, the storm clouds above beginning to dissipate. âA vacation?â
âMhm,â you nodded, leaning up to brush another kiss against his cheek. âIn fact, I was going to ask if youâd like to come with me.â
Malleus blinked, his earlier frustration melting into a look of surpriseâand then, a small, pleased smile tugged at his lips. The storm overhead faded into nothing, the sky returning to its usual clear blue.
âI would be honored,â he said softly, pulling you closer to him. âA vacation, just the two of us. That sounds⊠delightful.â
You grinned, pressing a final kiss to his lips, feeling his arms wrap around you in return. âItâs a date, then.â
And just like that, the storm was over. NRC was safe, and more importantly, you had managed to calm your dragonâand score a well-deserved vacation in the process.
As for Crowley? Well, youâd make sure to enjoy every moment of watching him squirm while you cashed in those promises.

The heat beat down on your face as you walked up the hill, buckets of water straining your shoulders. Your throat was parched and you were drenched in sweat. You were so thirsty it was unbearable. It had been months since the last rain and the nearest stream was miles away. Your village had long since lost hope, abandoning their faith in the gods. But not you. You knew they were up there. You believed they would help.
While everyone else assumed the drought would eventually end, as it had before, you couldnât wait. Your brother was so young; he might not survive much longer. Water was life and without it survival was impossible.
âHey, Ren.â You forced a smile for your brother. His face was flushed, and his clothes were tattered. âCome on, you need to drink this.â
Ren coughed, struggling to sit up. âY/n, youâre back.â
âYeah.â You brought the bowl closer to his lips, urging him to drink. He sipped weakly. âHow have you been feeling?â
âI feel really hot.â You felt his forehead and sighed when you felt it even warmer than before. The fever he had was burning through his body. Ren wrapped his arms around your waist, clinging on you tightly. âY/n you wonât leave me will you? Not like mum and dad.â
Brushing his hair out of his eyes, you felt your heart break a little. âOf course I wonât leave you. Youâre gonna be stuck with me for the rest of your life, promise.â He grinned, giggling. Thereâs a small bit of you that wished that this would end soon but you knew better.Â
âI love you Y/n.â Ren mumbled, eyes fluttering shut.
âLove you too Ren.âÂ
You were shaken awake and you nearly screamed when you caught sight of a beautiful face in front of you. His jaw was perfectly chiselled and his lips were plump, kissable almost. You felt your cheeks flushed. His eyes were what captured you most of all. Sapphire swirls painted his eyes, you felt yourself being pulled towards him.Â
âYou mortals really do sleep like - whatâs the saying? Oh yes - like the dead.â His sneer transformed his handsome features into something far more menacing. âDonât you know itâs disrespectful to spend the night at a temple?â
âI-Iâm sorry, I must have fallen asleep by accident.â You tried to move away but it was like an invisible force was keeping you from moving your limbs. He smirked, crawling closer to you so that you were inches apart. âW-Who are you?â
âLittle mortal doesnât know who I am.â His tongue flicked over his lips. âYouâre in my temple, little one.â
"Y-Your templeâŠ" The cogs in your brain turned and you let out a frightened gasp. "Y-You're a God." Â
He grinned, a low chuckle escaping his lips. "Smarter than you look. It's Y/n isn't it?" Words failed you and you felt your throat grow dry. He twisted a strand of your hair around his finger. "You've been praying for a heavy rain season for weeks. How could I not remember your name."Â
"Does that mean you'll help me?"Â
"I'm afraid the weather is in my brother's domain. I control the oceans, mortal."Â
"I know who you are, Satoru Gojo, God of the oceans and earthquakes. Your brother controls the sky and its weather." You said meekly, feeling your cheeks burn at how close he was. The tapestries had always depicted him as a handsome man with bulging muscles. But something about seeing him in real life had you so enamoured.Â
Satoru smirked, the blue in his eyes growing even brighter. His body glowed with a soft, golden aura. You gulped, unable to meet his gaze. "And yet you knew that, but still came to pray to me every day, making sacrifices as well."
"W-Well they say you're the most generous s-so I thoughtâŠ"
"You thought I would help you?" Satoru cocked his head to the side. "Don't you know everything comes with a price?"Â
"And I'm willing to pay that price."Â
A silent pause passed between the two of you before a smirk crept up on Satoruâs face. You noticed his eyes grow darker, the bright pigment transformed into a much more seductive hue.
âMy, my, little mortalâs brave.â You felt his eyes trailing over your body and you felt like youâre being hunted. âSo youâll do anything?â His fingers brushed over your thigh teasingly. You nodded.Â
A wicked grin spread across his face. You squeaked in surprise when his mouth collided onto yours. The intoxicating scent of the ocean filled your senses and your eyes fluttered shut. Satoruâs lips moved ferociously against yours, it made you feel dizzy yet they tasted sweet at the same time. You could taste the sugary taste of leftover ambrosia as he delved into your wet cavern, tongue exploring each and every crevice.Â
Your arms remained by your side, unsure of what to do. But when Satoru tugged you forward, they wrapped around him tightly, and you felt him smirk. Your hands wandered over his rippling muscles, trying to carve the feeling into your memory. He bit down on your bottom lip, drawing the slightest bit of blood.
The taste of your own blood mingled with the sweetness of ambrosia, created a heady mixture that made you gasp. Satoru pulled back slightly, his breath hot against your skin. "Everything comes with a price, little one." He murmured, his voice a velvety whisper. "Are you sure you're willing to pay it?"
You nodded, breathless and trembling. "Anything, just please help us."
Satoru's grin widened, his eyes gleaming with a mixture of amusement and something darker. "Very well, mortal. But remember, once a deal is struck with a god, there's no going back."
His fingers traced patterns on your skin, sending shivers down your spine. "You'll belong to me," he whispered, his lips brushing against your ear. "Body and soul."
You felt yourself growing hot as he ravaged your mouth, a soft growl emitting from his throat. You werenât familiar with his actions, you had never been bedded, too busy tending to your sick brother. The people had called you many names but you didn't care. But now, with your minimal experience, you were nervous, scared even at the thought of a God deflowering you. Nevertheless, you started to grow wet, your pussy started to stick to the thin piece of cloth that covered you.Â
Satoru pulled away yet again, a single strand of salvia connected the both of you as he awaited your answer. You panted, out of breath and slightly intoxicated from just the sense of him.Â
âDo you accept?â His voice was deep and sultry, something about him was so deliciously seductive that you couldn't help the way your thighs squeezed together involuntarily.
"I accept."Â
Satoru's eyes flashed with satisfaction. "Good. Then let our pact be sealed." He captured your lips again, this time more possessively, his hands roaming your body with a newfound intensity. You let out a moan as his tongue slithered back into your mouth.Â
He sunk two fingers into your folds making you whimper at the stretch. Your hands gripped his biceps, nails digging down. Satoru licked his lips, continuing to pump into you, gradually increasing the pace. The lewd noises that filled your ears made a blush rise to your cheeks. Never in your life have you felt so dirty, so shameless.
"You're dripping, my sweet. Who would've thought you'd be this turned on." His tone was laced with unmistakable lust and hunger. "Been watching you for so long. Couldn't wait any longer to be inside you." He growled, fucking into you faster, drawing louder moans out of you.Â
"S-SatoruâŠ" You gasped as he plunged another digit into you, manoeuvring his fingers so he hit all the right spots. "I-IâŠ"
He stared at your core, your juices all over. For a second he slowed down, giving you a chance to breathe and relax before he picked up the pace. Curling his fingers, touching your sweet sensitive spots in your velvet walls. His thumb rubbed your clit, playing with your sensitive nub. A tight hot rope seemed to wrap around your stomach as Satoru continued to fuck you harder. He smirked as your walls squeezed his fingers. You let out a gasp when he touches a particular spot within you.Â
"Close my sweet?" He whispered, lips brushing against your ear and it sent you closer to your high. All you could do is nod fervently, the twisting feeling wrapping around your stomach tightened. You mewled as he fucked you faster, adding another digit. âYou canât cum just yet, got to make sure youâre ready for my cock.â He hummed.
You clenched around his fingers once more, tears pricked your eyes as you threw your head back at the pleasure you were receiving. Satoru surged forward, capturing your lips in a heated kiss. He swallowed your moans and whimpers. His lips trailed down your neck, leaving soft open-mouthed kisses in his wake. Your noises were like music to his ears as he drank in every moan, whimper, mewl - the breathy gasps and the lewd pants.Â
âYou know my sweet, thereâs something that I love about being a God.âÂ
You gazed at him through your lashes, his lips curling up into a devilish smirk. An ice cube appeared in his hand. You werenât sure what to think until he slid it up and down your hot wet folds, then you were gasping at the coldness that hit your core. There was a rush of newfound delight that filled you up and you were rutting your hips, asking for more.
Satoru simply grinned, pushing the cube of ice further inside you watching your reactions bloom in front of him. His fingers were dripping with both water and your arousal. You let out a soft hiss when the ice cube is pressed harder into you. The coldness contrasted with the warmness of your needy walls. It spiked through your body as it made your blood rise and your head became light at the overwhelming feeling. You were clutching onto Satoru with so much force that it would hurt him but he didnât care, not when he was in the midst of unravelling you.
âLetâs see how many you can hold.â It shocked you into a frenzy when you felt another ice cube get pushed inside you, the last one still slowly melting.Â
âMmmph. Too much, ngh, feels weird, âs too much.â Your mind seemed to explode as you babbled incoherently. âF-fuckkk âtoru itâs cold a-and-â
You were unable to finish your sentence as Satoru reached out his hands to pinch your clit causing you to jolt forward at the sudden gesture. You felt a rush as you gazed up at him. watching his smirk grow as he looked at your sopping pussy.Â
âYouâre so beautiful!â He teased your folds, rubbing against them harsher. âTake more for me okay? Youâre such a good girl, my sweet, keep that dirty pussy dripping as I stuff you, okay?â Satoruâs lips brushed your ear. âThen Iâll let you cum.â
You felt yourself spiralling into euphoria when he slid his finger down your pussy. His tongue flicked over his lips as he admired your fucked out face. Morals left your body and you let your urges take over. All reason and thought left you as you were reduced to a whining needy mess. Your pussy clenched pathetically around the ice cubes, the cold still surprising you. Satoru did nothing but coo at you, tucking strands of loose hair behind your ear.
âCome on my sweet.â He urged. âYou're doing so well. This pussy is so pretty, sheâs just so gorgeous, fuckkk, wish you could see her.â
âA-Ah, âtoru good f-feels so g-good.âÂ
You were writhing beneath his grip, a feeling of overwhelming pleasure surged through you as he continued his actions. Your pussy constricted around his fingers and you felt something grow within you. Your nerves and senses were heightened as you felt his fingers nudge at your swollen clit.Â
âI-I feel somethingg, ngh, f-feels weird like Iâm gonna burst-â You gasped out, unable to keep the noises within you.
âAwwww.â Satoruâs tone was mocking as he watched your tiny frame twist and turn under his grip. A wicked grin spread across his face. âYouâre close, my sweet, beg to cum and maybe Iâll be nice enough to let you.âÂ
It was almost painful but the pleasure was so uncontrollable that it overtook any pain you felt. Satoru slid another freezing ice cube into you, making you scream. Your mind was dizzy and you could only feel yourself getting stretched repeatedly with the cold object. Your pussy walls were both cold and hot, the mixture that Satoru had concocted dripping from them. Sweat covered your body, glistening as the sun shone down. You felt like you were on the verge of collapsing, so desperate for an unknown pleasure to come to your saviour.
âS-Satoru...cum, p-please. W-Wanna cumâŠâ You stuttered helplessly, silently shrieking at the contrast of temperatures.
âMore, beg more.â
You screamed at the feeling as his fingers thrusted in you making your head light as you desperately gripped onto his shoulders, clawing at some sort of way to tether you to the present. His words were laced with seduction as he continued to tease you.
âC-Cum cum cum, please pleaseee, needa cum so b-bad âtoru fuckkk! P-Please let me cum, âs too much need it s-so bad, please please please!â
Satoru laughed as he buried his head in your neck, placing kisses on the empty space. He loved your desperate pleas, the breathy moans that would fill the gaps and the tears that followed as you begged him for something you had never experienced before.
âYouâve been such a good girl.â He purred, his deep voice making you clench around him. âAnd good girls deserve to cum. Go on my sweet, let it all out on my fingers, make a mess of this pussy.âÂ
You felt a wave of ecstasy rush over you as he pressed his fingers down, biting into your neck. Your body shook at the sensation that overcame you. You rocked against Satoru as you felt your pussy squeeze and constrict. A newfound feeling gushed from within you and you felt yourself scream at the pleasure. Your mind was reduced to filth as you moaned, the ringlets of your release jolting through your body. Satoru groaned at the way your cum coated his fingers and he stared at your desperate cunt, watching the aftermath of the mess you had just created. You didnât know what to think, your mind cloudy and confused.Â
âYou fucking squirted, dirty fucking girl.â His eyes were transfixed and suddenly you felt embarrassed at the wetness between your thighs. He reached his hands out forcing you to stay open for him, exposing your most private part for him to ogle at. âWho knew this cute little pussy was capable of such filthy things. Youâre just a whore in disguise arenât you?â
Your pathetic mewls convinced him of nothing. Satoru stared in wonder at your pussy, watching as you clenched around nothing. He slid his fingers in his mouth, tasting every bit of you. A low moan was heard before he dived down licking up your mess. Still sensitive, you cried in shock, threading your hands through his hair. He sucked harshly at your sensitive bud, lapping at your juices. The feeling made tears bleed from your eyes and you tug on his wispy locks.Â
âLike it, my sweet?â His voice sent tingles down your spine and you held back the urge to scream. âCanât hear you?â
âL-Like it so much âtoruâŠâ You let out a shaky breath, beads of your tears clinging onto your lashes. âP-PleaseâŠâ
He lapped at your cunt greedily, swallowing every single drop. Your arousal dripped from his chin with a mixture of his salvia. His ears were blessed at the loud squelch that would emit from between your legs. Everything was so messy but he didnât care as he continued to play with your pretty cunt. You could only whine and quiver at the feeling. Your legs shook, still sensitive from your previous orgasm. Blissful thoughts whizzed by as he kept you locked in an euphoric sensation. You struggled to not cry out and sob when white dots blurred your vision.Â
Satoru flicked his tongue against your engorged clit, plunging the wet muscle inside. His mouth was hot and you felt his tongue circle your swollen clit messily while you stuttered out pleading moans. He pried open your thighs, desperate to access deeper into the precious new heaven he had discovered. You felt your eyes roll to the back of your head at the overstimulation, finding it hard to focus on anything as your senses overloaded. Your mouth hung open as sweet whines constantly fell from your lips. All you could do was lie there letting Satoru ravage your pussy like a man dying of thirst.
âC-Close, close so so so close!â You gasped when you felt him release with a pop before diving back down to continue to suck. âToo much, âtoru âs too much, feels t-too gooddddâŠâ
It wasnât long before you were cumming again. Another round of your wet arousal coating his face and he licked it clean. You were drooling now, salvia running down your chin as you felt the tears run down your face. It was too much and you feel yourself fall into a new world of pure pleasure. You could feel Satoruâs lustful grin against you as he sucked your pussy. Your thighs shook, chest heaving up and down. Despite the fact you had just released it never stopped the god from indulging you in his carnal desire.
"Sweet little Y/n." He cooed as his thumb ghosted circles around your puffy clit. âThink youâre ready for my cock?âÂ
It was a question that didnât need an answer but you still nodded your head lifelessly. Your body was limp in his grip and you struggled to hold yourself up, relying only on him. Satoru smirked from above you, pushing you down on the marble floor. His hands were big and warm and the simple touch had heat blossoming at your pussy. You barely registered what was happening until you had your hands tied together. A thin golden cord wrapped around your wrists and Satoru bit his lip. You looked so beautiful, so pretty, so submissive.Â
âI like you this way my sweet. All tied up and ready to be used.â He frowned and you panicked, scared you had angered him. He snapped his fingers and you found a piece of cloth in your mouth, stopping you from speaking. âThatâs better, as much as I love your noises I find this much more appealing.â
Your eyes widened when he reached down to release his cock from its confines. You had never seen something so big and dare you say pretty. Satoruâs cock was red and flushed, pre cum oozing out of the swollen tip, dripping like pearls as they rolled down his fat cock head. You felt yourself drool at the sight and you didnât think you would want something in your mouth so bad. He grinned smugly at your reaction, knowing you were unable to say anything as you stared transfixed at the sight before you.
âDonât worry my sweet, Iâll make sure to make you feel so good. I know how much this pussy loves to be filled up.â
The words are dirty yet you couldnât help but let out a muffled whine as he picked you up. His tip pushed past your folds, nudging into your pussy hole. You shut your eyes letting yourself feel the stretch that he gave you. His cock was so big and every bit of your body felt like it was on fire as he continued to push inside. He paused letting you adjust, whispering into your ear quietly. Filthy praises that only made you drip and mewl. It felt like magic and you whimpered into your gag helplessly. Satoruâs fingers brushed through your hair and he peppered sweet kisses across your face.Â
It was like your world had imploded as he thrusted into you. Nothing else mattered as you moaned and squirmed at his touch. Your senses went into overdrive as he quickened his thrusts. He pumped in and out of you. He filled every crevice of your sex. His pace never slowed even as you felt all the energy leave your body. You screamed into the gag when he hit that particular spot that had you keeling. You felt your eyes roll to the back of your head and you gasped for air through the gag.Â
âFuckkk youâre so tight, such a slutty virgin pussy. Look at how youâre gripping on my cock my sweet, sheâs so loud.â
His words only made you keen with desire as you gave in to the carnal temptation that bloomed within you.Â
âMmmmph!â Your moans grew louder with every harsh thrust as his cock touched every part of your gummy walls. âAh-Ah-Ah! âtoruuuu!â
Satoru showed no mercy as he pounded into you. Cock plunging in and out of your pussy. Wet noises echoed through the walls of the temple and a small part of you felt bad for doing this, here of all places. It was inappropriate but it felt so good. Too good even. He continued his movements and the binds that once bound you vanished and you assumed that this was a sign that Satoru wanted you to touch him so you obeyed. Your fingers dragged down his back, sure to leave marks. Fingers fluttered from place to place, desperate for something to anchor you.
âYou look so beautiful, pussy sucking in my big cock. Such a good girl for me.â He tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear. Everything he did felt amazing. âMoan for me my sweet, go on let me hear those filthy sounds.âÂ
You obeyed his command letting the lewd sounds tumble from your lips as you gasped for more. Your hands roamed the vast expanse of his body, the taut muscles that lay under your hands, each touch ignited sparks. His grip on you tightened, his fingers tangling in your hair, pulling just enough to make you gasp again. Every brush of his lip, every stroke of his tongue, every bite and nibble was a reminder of his power and you couldnât help but give in completely.Â
The vigor that he fucked you with was compared to no man and you couldnât help the lustful sounds that escaped your lips as his hips snapped to yours. It made your mind reel with the feeling of pleasure. His hair fell into his eyes and you reached your hands to sweep through his locks. Satoru was so handsome. He was a god after all and you couldnât help that your heart pounded whenever you looked at him.
You felt your orgasm approach and you clenched your hands around his toned biceps, nails digging into his skin and he hissed. You moaned repeatedly into the gag as your body shook frantically from the pleasure.Â
âA-A-Ahhh! âtoru âtoru âs too much, nghh.â Your body thrashed in his grasp, wriggling and writhing as you felt the immense feeling build up again. Every movement magnified the intensity as you felt the shock ricochet throughout your body.Â
âItâs okay my sweet.â Satoru whispered but his thrusts were unrelenting. His fingers brushed against your clit, circling the bundle of nerves as he drew out your orgasm. âItâs okay, let's cum together. Soak my cock Y/n, such a good girl.â
Your juices overflowed and you felt his cum pump into your body, filling you up until you were so so full. Warmth blossomed throughout your body and you felt yourself wringing his cock with every drop of cum. The feeling was incomparable and you gasped for air once he removed the gag with the snap of his fingers. Satoru kissed you, his lips were demanding, moving against yours with raw hunger. The taste of the ocean filled your senses, salty and intoxicating. He pulled out to place a kiss on your thighs, on your pussy. You were so sensitive and you felt his cum as it flowed out of you. He stuffed two fingers in your pussy and you squealed at the sudden gesture. His fingers curled in and out of you before he slapped your core. The sting sent shock waves through your body and you couldnât help the moan that tumbled out of your lips.
âKeep it in there my sweet, Iâll be visiting again.â His voice was a husky whisper, deep and seductive.Â
Then, with those words, he disappeared, leaving you a naked mess on the temple floor. You were breathless and reeling from the pleasure that he had just bestowed upon you. You had just given yourself to a god, one that had just stuffed you so full of his cum. You stared at the place where he had been in shock, your head felt light from all that had just happened. Your legs gave way when you tried to stand up, they were sore and achy, covered in splatters of both of your cum. His smirks and groans filled your senses once again and you felt yourself flush at the memory.Â
Satoru Gojo had just introduced a lustful desire that you didnât think you would be able to forget for a very long time.
You gathered your belongings with shaking hands, urgently attempting to steady yourself as you stood. The wet splashes that painted your body were a stark reminder of what had just happened, and you tried your hardest to conceal them along with your flushed, fucked-out face.
You hobbled your way back to the village, heart pounding in your chest. Every glance from a passerby felt like they could see right through you. The sheer thought that someone would stop to talk to you had you eager to get home unnoticed.
Unbeknownst to you, Satoru was watching from Olympus, his eyes never leaving your retreating form. He grinned, a sense of satisfaction washing over him as he saw your tiny self hurry home. The memory of your trembling body and flushed cheeks was seared into his mind and he felt his cock harden again at the thought. He knew you were thinking of him, longing for him, and that was exactly what he wanted. When the time was right, he would come for you again, and induce you in a pleasurable haze once more.

jj maybank x fem!reader
summary: 1.1k
Your head is spinning. You must be dreaming. Thereâs no way youâre actually kissing your best friend right now, not quite sure if heâs still your best friend at that moment or not, but not caring enough to pull back and check.
or the one where jj spills his feelings for his best friend.
a/n: i haven't seen s4 and i don't know if i'm going to, but here's this jj fic since i was feeling up for it? question mark? it's all fluff.
masterlist
âDone in there?â JJ calls from where heâs no doubt spread out on your bed. You canât help the small laugh that trickles out of you as you open the door, still facing the mirror as you finish up your skincare routine. In the corner of the mirror, you catch JJâs reflection fiddling with a lighter.
âDonât burn down my bedroom,â you say. He looks up at you, catching your gaze in the mirror. He flips the spark wheel. A small flame erupts, already being bullied down by the high setting on your ceiling fan.Â
âWhat? Donât trust me?â he smirks.Â
âNot even a bit,â you chirp, setting all of your creams and oils back into your medicine cabinet.Â
He sets the lighter down on your nightstand.Â
âComfy?â you giggle, watching as he snuggles down further under your plush duvet. Youâre glad you made him change, not sure youâd ever get the dirt and sweat from his clothes out of your sheets. He nods, humming. You feel his eyes tracking your movements as you shut the bathroom light off and slide under the covers beside him. Itâs almost instantaneous that JJ molds to your side, pushing up your arm in order to lay his head against your shoulder, nose in your neck. You do your best to ignore the way your stomach flutters a bit.Â
JJ had always been touchy with you. You like to think that he does it with everyone, that that was just his nature. Youâd seen him sling an arm around Pope at the Boneyard, tug Kiara into a hug, spin her around, even, kiss John B on the cheek in some of his more emphatic moments. But, you couldnât ignore the way he was with you. The lingering touches, the snuggling, the sleepovers, the kisses against your temple. You couldnât remember the last time youâd been out on the HMS without him putting his hat on you. Itâs friendly enough for you to brush off, for the most part. For you to push it all down and justify his actions when the rest of the pogues prod you for information.Â
Itâs moments like this, thoughâalone, away from prying eyesâthat you allow yourself to pretend. Just a little.Â
You bring up a hand to his hair and run the tips of your nails across his scalp. He purrs, curling closer into you and you feel his eyelashes brush your skin as his eyes close.Â
ââS it raining?â he mumbles into you. His hand slides over your stomach as he reaches for the hand not currently in his hair. Slowly, nearly leaving goosebumps beneath his fingers, he intertwines his fingers with yours. Thereâs no way this is platonic. Right? Your brain screams at you.Â
âWhat?â you hum, brushing your thumb over his knuckles.Â
âRain. From the sky. Outside.â
You look at the window.
âYeah. Yeah, J, itâs raining.â
He smiles, kissing the skin already beneath his lips. Thatâs new.
âI like the rain,â he chirps, voice surprisingly drowsy for how energetic heâd been before youâd left for your shower.Â
âDo you?â
He nods, humming. âMakes everything slow down a bit.â
âI didnât think you liked slowing down,â you say, your fingers moving down from his hair to ghost over his back.
âI like slowing down when Iâm with you,â he shrugs. You feel him shudder slightly when your nails gently scrape across his shoulder blades. âPlus, I look sexy when Iâm all drenched like that.â
You snort and smack him on the shoulder.
âOw! What was that for?â he scoffs, head snapping up to glare at you pitifully.Â
âSmug bastard,â you laugh. He winks as his lips curl into a fittingly smug smirk.
âYou love it,â he says. His hand squeezes yours, still held tight in his grasp. You donât respond in words, instead opting to squeeze his hand back. You feel his heart rate jump against your ribs. His eyes flicker between yours. The smirk slowly drops into something a little less cocky. Something a little softer. Warmer. You watch his Adam's apple bob as he swallows. Itâs only when his gaze moves down to your lips that your own breath stutters. That definitely canât be platonic.Â
He whispers your name so quietly you almost donât hear it. You probably wouldnât have if he hadnât been so close.Â
âI think I love you,â he says. What.
âI love you, too, J,â you say, pasting on your friendliest voice to try and ignore the way his breath is now fanning over your face. He smells like the gum heâd stolen from your car.
âNo, I meanâŠâ he clamps his eyes shut. âI do love you, like that, like a friend. Of course I do, youâre my best friend-â
âJohn Bâs your best friend,â you cut him off, because thereâs no way this is actually happening.
âListen, just⊠I,â he drops his head against your sternum, frustration seeming to roll off of him in waves.Â
âIâm sorry, Iâm listening,â you say softly.Â
âI donât want to keep doing this,â he grunts.
âDoing what?â
âPretending.â
Pretending.
âPretending?â you ask, placing a hand on his cheek to pull his gaze back up to yours. You smile softly at the way he nuzzles into your palm.Â
âYou really donât see it, do you?â he asks. His eyes are closed, his nose pressed against your thumb. âI thought I was being obvious.â
You need more than these clipped comments. Stupidly, something deeper in the back of your mind canât settle for even the chance of you misconstruing this. Of being wrong.
âObvious about what, J?â
âI already told you,â he whispers. He just barely kisses the pad of your thumb.Â
âTell me again,â you beg, holding your breath.
âIâm in love with you.â
âGood,â you hiccup.
âGood? Thatâs all you have to say? Iâm pouring my heart out here, baby,â he huffs and your heart nearly stops altogether. A bewildered giggle slips out of you.
âThatâs good because I⊠uh,â you swallow. âI love you, too.â
He doesnât answer this time. He slides up the last couple of inches to press his lips against yours. His free hand comes up to cup your jaw, bringing your mouth even harder against his. His other hand squeezes yours for dear life.Â
Your head is spinning. You must be dreaming. Thereâs no way youâre actually kissing your best friend right now, not quite sure if heâs still your best friend at that moment or not, but not caring enough to pull back and check.Â
Youâd kissed him before. On New Yearâs Eve at the stroke of midnight. But, that had been a quick, chaste peck between friends and youâd been able to blame the fireworks behind your eyelids on the holiday, and this. This was different. Much, much different. There were sparks tingling down to the tips of your toes. You pull back when you can no longer justify ignoring your need for oxygen and nearly whine when JJ chases your lips.Â
âIâm in love with you.â His voice is hoarse.Â
âYou said that,â you giggle, brain still a little hazy.
âYeah, I donât think youâre going to get me to stop saying it now,â he says. His body weight is almost fully pressed onto you as he ducks his head to place short kisses against your neck. Your fingers find his hair again, combing through the silky strands. You mentally thank him for stealing your shampoo.Â

mr reca fic where heâs suffering a creative slump due to the lack of good scripts (by his standards) from various screenwriters. he feels himself going positively insane with every script heâs given.
itâs too dull. itâs too predictable. this one has no creative flair whatsoever!! that one just doesnât spark enough imagination!!!
itâs troublesome, really. some think heâs really going through it, while others believe the scripts heâs been given wonât bring him enough money. but really, who cares about monetary value when it is he who cannot even begin to picture himself enjoying the process that comes with each script?
and so that is how he finds himself wandering around aimlessly. sometimes the outdoors is necessary for the mind, and who knows? perhaps he really will find something that will give him a spark. hmm, those trees are looking a little dull. the sky overhead is too cloudy. hm? did he just hear thunderâ
something collides into his chest, a choked âoof!â following soon after. he stumbles backwards a little, papers flying through the air around him. he blinks once, twice, at the sight of you on the ground, muttering something under your breath before a sharp gasp escapes you, hastily scrambling to gather the papers fluttering and strewn around.
one such paper falls into his hands. he glances over its contents, skimming through it as he goes to pass it over to you with an apology at the tip of his tongue, only to freeze.
this⊠this is genius! this is absolutely the pinnacle of writing!! while a little rough around the edges (as drafts usually tend to be), his once clouded mind is now clear, giving way to a blank canvas which slowly depicts the imagery your writing induces. idea after idea pours into his brain as he can visualise exactly what he wants, his body trembling and heart pounding as he insantly fixates on your panicked form still collecting all the fallen papers.
âyes⊠yes! this is what i was looking for! everything about this is pure artistry! the possibilities are endless, the sky is the limit!!â
this is possibly the happiest and freest he has felt in what seems like eons! seriously, compared to those other mind-numbing scripts this truly is the pinnacle of writing itself.
a laugh full of pure, unadulterated glee escapes him, careful not to crinkle the god-sent paper cradled in his palms. âyou! youâre a genius!â
âiâm a whaâŠ?â
he whirls in the direction of the source of the voice, further praises and a proposal for a collaboration on the tip of his tongue, only for his breath to catch in his throat.
you⊠youâre so radiant! even with that disheveled appearance and absolutely adorable confused expression youâre giving him, he never realised such beauty existed! not only does your writing fill him with endless creativity, but his pounding heart, parched throat and warming skin tells him youâre definitely the main character!
but wait! if you were to be the main character, then would that make him the main characterâs love interest? surely he wouldnât have had such a clichĂ© meet-cute like bumping into each other if he wasnât the love interest! but what if there is a second love interest? no, no, he can oust themâŠ
you, on the other hand, believe youâre about to get whiplash instead of the man, baffled at how he instantly switched from a maniac to stark silence to muttering senselessly with a dreamy expression.
well, each to their own. you have more pressing matters, and thatâs to quickly return home and continue fantasising before you forget the idea! but first, you have to get the last piece of paper backâŠ
âum⊠sir? can i have my paper back, please?â
in an instant, he kneels in front of you. now that youâre at eye level, he certainly is very handsome. if you didnât know any better, you would have thought this was some movie or drama plot with him as the main lead! oh, but why is he holding your handsâ
âyes, i will spend the rest of my life with you.â
ââŠwhat?â
tldr; youâre just a silly writer who daydreams far too much for their own good, and somehow managed to bag top-tier director mr reca with the power of said daydreams. (his ever-growing obsession with you is concerning to say the least but, hey! what genius isnât at least a little insane?)
#sophie talks : concepts <3#HE IS JUST A SILLY I LOVE HIM SO MUCH COBGRATS FOR FINALLY BEING REAL AFTER SO LONG MR RECA MY LOVE#i wanna turn this into a long ficâŠ. delusional meets delusionalâŠ.. grrrâŠâŠ#when he sees u for the first time u have the sparkly shoujo filters and everything no i do not make the rules#mr reca x reader#honkai star rail x reader#hsr x reader#mr reca x you#honkai star rail x you#hsr x you

what the FUCK happens in cyberverse
Here's a list just off the top of my head, in no particular order. MASSIVE spoilers ahead.
-Wheeljack keeps making party drugs. This is not only accepted but wholly encouraged by the Autobots. He's made the bot equivalent to cocaine so strong it made grimlock physically unable to stop himself from running around the ship at mach 5. This was the basis for an entire episode. He's also made patches that give you a direct link to the Allspark that he passed out at a party specifically to get everyone as fucked up as physically possible. I cannot overemphasize that Optimus make no effort to stop this until things turn destructive on both occasions.
-Soundwave and Shockwave completely fucking hate each other and have a whole rivalry trying to be a better and more useful follower for Megatron than each other.
-Soundwave is a fucking memelord who will play clown music or dramatic riffs to dunk on people from the soundboard he has built into his hardware.
-theres a sort of liminal dimension referred to as Unspace that you can get stuck in and if you are there for too long you will straight up disintegrate. We see this happen to the entire crew aboard the arc from different timelines several times while the main timeline crew we follow tries to escape this fate, thus dooming dozens of other timelines.
-Cheetor is basically Allspark Jesus, and he's tired of all the fighting, so he tries to have Optimus and Megatron settle their differences once and for all. The chosen method for this was making them both play the Newlywed Game. They were both terrible at it, the MegOp Divorce agenda is alive and well.
-the Quintessons invade Cybertron and stick the entire population into a simulation a la The Matrix, which slowly drains their life force until they die. This kills countless unnamed Cybertronians, both Autobot and Decepticon, as well as Hound, who does not get to appear on screen.
-the Quintessons also catch Starscream, rip his face off, and modify him into an Eldritch tentacle beast with his brain attached to two other aliens, and then appoint that amalgamation as the judge that decides the fate of the universe in regards to whether they exterminate all life within it.
-Shockwave commits suicide for Megatron's approval. He launches his spark straight into the Allspark to taint it specifically as a last desperate fuck you to the autobots.
-Soundwave acquired laserbeak by just kind of grabbing a random bird out of the sky.
-Soundblaster is an ex-decepticon that left out of shame. That shame being Soundwave beating his ass in a beatboxing competition so fuckin hard he couldn't show his face around his faction anymore.
-The autobots keep starscream captive and try to get him to take a therapy session with the Arc's AI, and he starts out willing to actually give it a shot but said AI is kind of Stupid and screamer ends up tricking him into letting him escape through an air vent to go wreak havoc instead.
-Starscream also starts a suicide cult with the other Seekers, gains control of Vector Sigma and the Allspark, has the seekers forfeit their sparks to him, thus resulting in a cosmically powered Starscream. He uses that power to "remake" his followers into scraplets that he refers to as, with nothing but love in his tone, his "children."
-Shockwave and Wheeljack are shown to be ex lab partners. Shockwave has an army of drones that look exactly like his altmode that Wheeljack helped program. They are programmed to be able to break out into a coordinated dance number at any given time. Originally this was just to make Wheeljack laugh. Shockwave kept that function in throughout the entire war and initiates it the second there's a truce and Wheeljack asks to see it again.
-Shockwave kidnaps Wheeljack at one point for Science Under Duress purposes and Wheeljack is too invested in all the sweet fuckin tech Shockwave's been making while they were apart to really care that he's being held against his will, and then proceeds to escape without too much issue because he knows Shockwave well enough to know exactly how to disable everything.
-Bumblebee distracts the Decepticons by running in front of their surveillance cameras and shaking his ass in the most underwhelming way imaginable.
-Grimlock is only stupid when he's in his altmode because it takes a lot of power to sustain and he has to sacrifice some of his higher brain functions to keep it manageable. In robot mode he talks like he went to an Ivy League college and knows what champagne tastes like. He throws upscale parties every chance he gets.
-Grimlock also helped start an anticapitalist revolution with Bumblebee when he found an underground society of insect transformers that had a rigid caste system. This was within moments of finding out that the ultra wealthy were hoarding the limited energon reserves for themselves. Grimlock is a comrade and he does not fuck around.
-Skybyte is here and he sounds like Skeletor.
-Windblade and Slipstream are nemeses and somehow it's even more toxic yuri coded than Arcee and airachnid in tfp.
-speaking of Arcee, she's besties with Grimlock. They at one point have a physical fight over who gets to die to protect the other.
-hot rod and soundwave are forced to share leadership over the team of bots and cons that escaped the quintessons' simulation and it's packed with so much homoerotic tension its unreal.
-Maccadam is some kind of lovecraftian war machine that can unfold himself into a whole armory whenever he feels like it. We have no idea what his whole altmode looks like, all we see are the ominous shadows of the weapons on the walls. He uses this specifically as a threat to keep anyone from fighting in his bar bc he's insistent it remain neutral ground. He also can kinda just. See into the future. And casually drops prophecies that get written off as spoonerisms until they turn out to be relevant.
-Optimus Prime has horrific social anxiety that he can kind of power through when he's in a crisis, but the second things are chill and he has to give a speech at a party or something he simply does not know how to function.
-the entire planet of Velocitron gets taken over by cosmic rust and everyone inhabiting it that couldn't escape in time was killed horrifically.
-cosmos is a girl and she hangs out with a dude named Meteorfire who is, for all intents and purposes, just robot Steve Irwin.
-Astrotrain keeps closing doors in people's faces for the funny
-Megatron is killed by a version of himself from an alternate universe that went nuts and starting creating a master race of perfect Decepticons to inhabit Cybertron. Said perfect Decepticons were carbon copies of idw Tarn in all but personality.
-Acidstorm is canonically genderfluid and keeps switching between male and female seeker frames whenever they feel like it
-Kup, who had not been in the show at all until this point, decides to show up and narrate an entire episode like hes giving a political speech.
And, the infamous one we all know and love
-Megatron is a twitch streamer and he livestreams Starscream's fucking funeral. The chat has custom Decepticon emotes.
#maccadam#transformers#cyberverse#show that vacillates between deeply silly and unbelievably fucked at a moments notice

Commission for @vgilantee
A/N: Thank you so much for your commission! This was so fun to write, I hope you enjoy it! <3
Request: may i please get a big big werewolf and fem!reader fucking big nasty style đ«Łđ€ feral, animalistic, and nasty. maybe after some predator/prey rp in the woods, but honestly free reign. go crazy ^^
âDonât runâ
Werewolf x fem!reader || size kink, predator/prey, chasing, biting, knotting, lowkey breeding
You had been living with your werewolf boyfriend for a couple weeks when the first full moon arrives. In the two years youâve been together, he always made plans with his pack during the full moon, of thatâs what he told you. Apparently he didnât trust himself around you, so he barricaded himself in his basement and waited it out. He built a werewolf-proof cage and tied himself with some big metal chains to keep himself on check.
You are sure it wouldnât be that bad, thereâs no way he would hurt you, even with the full moon. Or maybe you were wrong.
Now, when he insists on you tying him up and leaving some of your clothes with him, you comply. He says your scent calms his beast, and that way it would be harder for him to escape. You two are so sure everything would be okay that you donât double check the restrains. First mistake of the night.
You are lazily lying around upstairs when you hear the first crack. It sounds like thunder, but the night outside is clear, not a single cloud in the sky. You get down to the first floor and look around, nothing seems out of place, maybe some animal outside broke some tree or something. You donât question it too deeply. Second mistake of the night.
When you heard another crack, this time a lot louder, you decide to go inspect the basement. You get to the door at the same time as he does.
The door is on the floor, completely broken, and his face is the one of a predator. Adrenaline and fear fuel your body as you move slowly to the door, feeling like the prey you just became. You two were so sure everything was going to be alright that you didnât talk what to do if this happened. You are on your own, and heâs a full transformed werewolf looking at you like you are his next meal.Oh fuck.
âDonât run,â he says, his voice too gravely, too deep, more monster than human. You breathe hard, looking between the door and him. He growls, a warning. But you were never the one to take good choices.
You know itâs not a good idea. You know itâs probably the worst idea ever, but you are scared and your heart is beating too fast and too loud for you to listen to whatever your brain is saying. You shouldnât run, but your fear is louder than reason. You look at him, completely transformed, and turn on your heels, bolting for the forest.
You know you arenât supposed to run away from a predator, but you do it either way. Probably the third mistake of the night and the one that condemns you.
You hear his howl behind you as you start to run, your body forcing itself to exhaustion really fast. But you donât stop, you keep pushing yourself faster, trying to look for a place to hide. You canât find any, but you are plenty aware that it wouldnât matter. Once he catches you, he will be completely mad, feral. He will be too animalistic to understand who you are.
You ran and ran, your breathing fast and labored, taking too much of your already low energy. You donât know what to do, where to go, you are lost in the forest and thereâs a predator on your heels.
You can hear him behind you, following you, but not catching you just yet. Heâs playing with you, he could catch you easily, you arenât that fast or see that well in the dark. But he doesnât want the fun to end, heâs enjoying the smell of your fear, the taste of your desire under it. Heâs toying with you. Heâs toying with his prey. And that makes your adrenaline to spike and your pussy to tingle.
Maybe you are a bit fucked up in the head, maybe you are enjoying it more than you should. You never knew you liked it a bit rough until you knew him, it shouldnât be a surprise that you love him chasing you. You feel like red riding hood and heâs the wolf out to catch you⊠And that excites you.
You keep running as your pussy gets wetter. The noises and howls he makes behind you adding to the fire burning inside of you until you feel you were going to melt completely.
And then thereâs silenceâŠ
Nothing around you, not a single sound apart from your breathing and rabbit-fast heart. And then you see a shadow in the corner of your eye. He throws you to the ground, face down, and covers your body with his. Heâs so big and so heavy your breath escapes your lungs. You scream as he bites down on the side of your neck, right over your mating bond. He holds you down with his teeth as you struggle under him, unable to move more than a few millimeters.
He growls in warning and starts tearing your clothes. The air is cold against your heated skin, and his claws feel too sharp, but you canât ignore the edge of pleasure as he touches your body. He doesnât wait long, he licks at the new mark on your neck as he touches your soaking wet pussy, humming in contentment. He pinches your clit between his claws and you moan loudly, embarrassed that you make that unholy sound.
He pushes your head down with his other paw as you feel the tip of his dick against your pussy. Heâs there for just a second before heâs all the way inside of you. He doesn't let you breathe, he fucks you like a piston, his dick caressing every part inside of you, so big heâs hitting your cervix as you scream with every thrust. The edge of pain is adding to your pleasure to the point of insanity.
You are drooling on the forest floor as a beast growls and fucks you raw. You donât know how much of your boyfriend is aware of what itâs happening, of what heâs doing⊠Heâs just a big monster and you are a hot hole to fill. In and out, in and out, the pace so fast and so savage that your body moves with his thrusts, your hands and knees getting scratched against the dirt. And you love it.
It feels depraved to be feeling so good being treated so roughly. But deep down you know your boyfriend is somewhere inside of the beast, thereâs a part of him behind you. And a big part of him hitting your G-spot with every thrust. You reach down and touch your clit, rubbing frantically as he keeps fucking you. Your face is against the floor and your tongue tastes like grass, but the delicious friction of your fingers against your pussy make you see stars.
You feel your orgasm approaching as some of your juices gush around his dick. He stills for a second and then you feel the big engorgement at the base of his dick pushing against your stretched hole. You cry out as he pushed it in, zero caress, zero worries for your well-being, only the need to be inside of you. To breed you. And you are loving every single second of his feral side ravaging you.
His knot finally slips inside, stretching you so wide that it brings tears to your eyes as you orgasm once again. He doesnât care what is happening with you, he keeps grinding his knot against your G-spot, milking his own pleasure and accidentally making yours ascend to the next plane. You orgasm again as he howls to the moon and fills you with rope after rope of warm come.
You feel every little twitch of his dick inside you as he keeps coming, and coming, and coming. And you keep gushing around him, completely spent. Your eyes are heavy and your body is limp, at his mercy. The last thought you have before you pass out is how dying like that would be a good way to go.
You wake up on a comfy bed with your werewolf boyfriend next to you. Heâs back to human form, and your body feels like a big bruise. You wince when you try to face him and he grunts. âI told you not to run,â he tells you, worry written all over his face.
âI knowâŠâ You whisper, looking at him intensely. The images and pleasure from last night come back to you in waves, making you dizzy as you tell him: âI would do it again.â He smirks at you and kisses you until you forget all about the soreness of your body.

I'm pretty sure this has been done before (and several times), but brain going brrr, so
DPxDC John Constantine's How To: Ghost Kids
Bruce doesn't even get to say anything when the door to his study opens with a slam against the wall, and before he knows it, he gets an armful of kids. As in, a bouquet of them.
"I'm so done," John Constantine breathes out, raspy and exhausted, looking like a trainwreck incarnate. Granted, the man always looked like one, but right now, the effect has been greatly worsened. The dark circles under John's eyes are, in fact, black, and it looks like he hasn't shaved in at least a week.
Bruce looks down to the small gaggle of children in his lap that he caught in his hands by sheer reflex.
All three of them look up at him with identical, sky blue eyes. They could be twins if it was not for their obviously different ages - the girl looks no older than three, while the boys are probably around five and six.
The older boy scrunches his nose. The girl pouts, but it looks directed at Constantine rather than at him.
Bruce looks back to John, a silent question in his eyes.
"They are- Well, not mine, for starters," the man begins, placing his hands on the table right over the sheets and documents, and leans on it, hanging his head down. Then, he raises one hand up and waves it in the air, "Not yours either, thank the Gods for that." He takes a deep breath.
Bruce's eyebrows raise all the way up to his hairline. The girl starts trying to wiggle out of his hands, but the middle boy holds her back, keeping her in Bruce's lap. She pouts harder.
"And you've brought them here why?" Bruce breaks the stretched out silence, gently repositioning the kids into a more comfortable hold. John raises his head up at him, and the magician's eyes look straight up pleading.
"You're the only person I know of who is, one, a parent, two, acquainted with supernatural, three, a man of great patience, and four, owes me a favor." Constantine lists off reasons that don't really make sense all together, especially regarding kids. Then he thinks for a moment and adds, "Five, owes a shitton of liquor."
"John, what-"
"Listen, I've been dealing with them for a week, I'm at my limit," Constantine interrupts him, desperate and close to whining, "I haven't slept in more than three consecutive hours for days. I don't remember the last time I ate. Or took a shower."
Yes, Bruce can see that. Or, rather, smell it. But that answers none of his questions as to who, why, and how.
"I would kill for a bath," John admits, like it's some sort of a secret. The middle boy opens his mouth, but Constantine points an accusing finger at him, "No, the puddle of melted ghost ice does not count for a bath. And don't come at me with your death puns."
The child rolls his eyes but closes his mouth back and slumps. Bruce resists the urge to pinch the bridge of his nose, but only because he is holding three kids. His hands are full, quite literally.
"John, I need you to explain," he asks, somewhere between a demand and a careful inquiry. Because, really, the man looks on the brink of losing his sanity, that much is evident. Bruce might not like the man, but he can at least partially sympathize with dealing with kids.
His bare minimum of sympathy - and isn't it a bizarre thought, emotionally sympathizing with John Constantine of all people - does not ease his growing worry and irritation. The girl starts trying to get out of his hold again.
John takes a very deep breath, holds it, and then-
"I stole them," he says, looking Bruce dead in the eye, with a sense of resigned, if a bit unhinged, determination. And, before Bruce is able to ask literally anything else, he keeps going, "Their parents are shit, a branch of government is out for their guts - as in, literal guts - there was- there is a backdoor to the afterlife in their basement, and also they are dead and because of some Realms fuckery and their spiritual granddad being a huge pain in the ass, they are all wrong ages."
Bruce blinks. Then blinks again. Processing that sentence turns out to be a lot harder than he estimated.
The oldest kid in his lap gives John a middle finger, nearly sneering. The girl starts snickering, somehow making it soundless.
"Oh, and they are under a silence charm because if I hear one more references to fucking Ghostbusters I will shoot myself," Constantine finishes matter-of-factly.
Distantly, Bruce wonders if John can make that spell into some sort of an amulet. God knows, Dick really needs one sometimes. Steph does, too. And Jason. Actually, all of them need one.
He looks over the kids again. They don't seem scared or unsettled, neither by the fact they are sitting in a lap of a stranger nor by Constantine's bullet point version of a summary to their lives. They mostly just look annoyed and grumpy, and a bit embarrassed in case of the middle boy.
Bruce sighs and decides to start somewhere.
"Do they have names?"

I've Been Waiting For You | Azriel
summary: Azriel finally meets the one he's been longing for. His mate.
warnings: mentions of death (since the suriel & reader are friends); some angst but also fluff because Az deserves to be happy âĄ
a/n: This is part of my ABBA x ACOTAR series (masterlist) where I dedicate a song to a character (: The lyrics kind of reminded me of Alice & Jasper from twilight and how she had a vision of meeting him. This does go back and forth a lot in the beginning between past and present and came out longer than I thought it would. It's 9.6K words (which for me is long lol.) I apologize if there are any spelling errors. I've read this multiple times but somehow, always miss a couple.
As the moonlight dances upon the water's surface, the river transforms into a liquid ribbon of silver, weaving through the city of Starlight. Anticipation fills the air as Azriel walks across the bridge that spans the Sidra, his massive Illyrian wings glistening in midnight hues under the pale moonlight.Â
Shadows play hide-and-seek as they travel through the night, drawn to the silhouette of a female figure. An intruder. Yet, Azriel's shadows dare to whisper something different into his ears.
âIâve been waiting for you.â
Your voice, carried by the wind, reaches him like a sweet caress, daring to awaken something deep within him. Beautiful. His shadows respond with a frenzy, a whirl of darkness singing wild tales into his ears, urging him forward. Meanwhile, his brain screams at the potential threat.
More tendrils of darkness dart toward you, ignoring their masterâs orders to return. You donât seem bothered by them. In fact, you seem to welcome them as if theyâre old friends of yours.Â
Azriel swallows, uncertainty flickering in his eyes, unsure what to make of this.Â
âWho are you?â
Finally, you turn around and Azriel feels like the wind has been knocked out of him when his gaze meets yours. In the midst of the surrounding darkness, your eyes gleam with an inexplicable brightness. Specs of silver glimmer in your eyes, mirroring the stars above, as they shine back at him. Â
âThatâs for you to decide,â you reply with a smile that carries both hope and a sense of knowing as you follow after him and take a step forward.
âBut for now, Iâd like to speak with your High Lady.â
Months beforeâŠ
The brilliance of a thousand stars shine down on you and the night seems to hold its breath, as if it too, awaits the whispered prophecies from the celestial expanse above. Like always, you are itching to unveil them with your finely attuned senses. A gust of cool wind brushes through your hair, sending shivers down your exposed skin. Pulling your gaze away from the night sky, you turn in time to see a cloaked figure approaching like a shadow in the night.
Your lips curve into a smile. âHello, friend.â
ây/n.â The Suriel greets you, hovering beside you. Then, not missing another beat, he says, âI told her Rhysand was her mate.â
Your eyes widen in surprise, a gasp escaping your lips. âYou did not.â
âI did.â He grins back at you, flashing you his stained teeth.
You canât help but laugh a little at your dear old friend. The Suriel lets out a rattled sound you discern as a laugh as he joins you. Always the one for dramatics. You still remember hearing about his first encounter with Feyre Archeron and how he told her to stay with the High Lord.
âI told her she must stay with the High Lord.â
âDid you specify which one?â
âWhereâs the fun in that?â
âIâm sure she handled it well,â you respond but your smile fades, giving way to a wistful expression. âSheâs lucky. Not only is she made but the Cauldron has blessed her with a mate. The High Lord of the Night Court at that.â
The weight of his gaze settles upon you. Youâre aware that your words carry a tinge of envy, a sentiment that feels unjust when considering everything Feyre has endured. The Suriel, ever perceptive, acknowledges this as well. He chooses not to remind you and indulges you instead.
âThe Cauldron has blessed you as well, my child.â
âHave you seen it?â
Hope sparks in your eyes as you turn to face him. His eyes, pools of ancient wisdom, seem to pierce through the veils of time and secrets. You sense one of them unfolding. But he only gives you a teasing glimpse.
âPerhaps.âÂ
With a furrow in your brows, you lift your head back up to glare at the night sky. The stars seem to blink at you in a teasing manner, as if finding amusement in keeping this secret from you.Â
âHow come I havenât seen it?â
âYou will soon.â He reassures, following your gaze upwards. A dance of amusement swirls within the depths of his eyes. âHeâs waited centuries for you. Count your stars lucky that your waiting wonât be as long.â
Back to the presentâŠ
Velaris lived up to its name. A dream compared to the horrors of the city you grew up in. But as the city sparkles and comes to life at the darkening hour, all your attention is drawn to the male before you. Heâs even more breathtaking in person. Everything about him is classically beautiful and the moon seems to agree, shining down on him and casting an ethereal glow on the golden-brown of his skin.
As Azriel continues to approach you, his wings fold gracefully behind him. His gaze is locked onto yours and though his eyes are cautious and analytical, thereâs a warm shiver running down your spine. The desire to lose yourself in the hazel depths of his eyes becomes an irresistible pull.
Before you know it, the shadows brushing against your arms rise and come to rest against your eyes in a blindfold. Darkness engulfs you, and the sensation of weightlessness takes hold as Azriel winnows both of you. You land on a soft cushionâa chair. The dark tendrils leave your eyes and wrap around your wrists and legs, binding them together.
âStay here.â Azriel says, the shadows wrapped around your limbs tightening in a silent warning.
A chuckle escapes from you and when your eyes meet his again, you flash him a mischievous smile. It widens when heâs the first to fold, quickly averting his gaze. He has no clue. Youâre exactly where you want to be.
He leaves the room and your eyes finally take in your surroundings. Veiled curtains made of midnight blue silk drape the expansive windows, pulled back to allow moonlight to filter through. Shelves line the walls, housing collections of ancient artifacts and magical trinkets. A large desk, crafted from dark, polished wood rests before you. Your gaze fixates on the wall behind it, where a captivating portrait of the female you seek rests.
The door behind you swings open, and you turn to witness the graceful entrance of the female from the portrait. Feyre, the Cursebreaker and High Lady of the Night Court. She's a vision of night and beauty, her golden-brown hair cascading down her exposed back, revealing glimpses of moon phases etched along her spine.
âHigh Lady,â you say in greeting, bowing your head in respect.
Surprisingly, the High Lord doesn't accompany her. Instead, it's Azriel who trails behind her. Her calm blue eyes assess you as she takes a seat across from you. Azriel stands guard behind her and you feel his shadows watching your every breath.Â
"And who might you be?"
âIâm y/n,â you respond, choosing your next words carefully. âAn old friend of the Surielâs. Iâve come to pledge my allegiance to you and offer my help.â
Something flickers in her blue eyes at the mention of the Suriel and her stoic expression falters, if only for a moment. You send her a sympathetic smile, your own heart aching at the mention of the fearsome creature you both held dear.
âYour help?â She echoes.
"Sheâs a seer," Azriel interjects, his voice setting your heart alight as there's no hint of disgust or apprehension in his tone.
Your kind is often regarded with hostility. He might not know your connection...yet. But heâs paid you enough attention to recognize your abilities and appears to be indifferent about them. If the Suriel were still alive, you know heâd laugh at your slight delusion.
"I am," you confirm. "And I know your sister is one too." You donât miss the tension in Azrielâs body at the mention of the cauldron-made fae, but you don't dwell on it as you can also sense Feyre's protectiveness. "She has great potential. I can help her hone her skills. Together, we canâ"
"No," Azriel growls protectively. His sharp interruption has you startling in your seat and hope deflates as you feel the intensity of his glare.
Feyre raises a hand, signaling him to stand back. âWhy should I trust you?â
âLet me show you.â
Months beforeâŠ
âBy the Cauldron, what did you get yourself into?â
The Suriel grins mischievously, his tattered cloak barely clinging to his bony form. He graciously accepts the cloak you offer, a luxurious piece made of the softest velvet in the darkest shade of black you could find. A purr escapes him as he revels in its warmth. "Nothing," he responds coyly, the satisfaction evident in the bounce of his form as he hovers in the air.
You shoot him a pointed look, yearning to know what he was up to. Youâre certain it was no good. âSure,â you retort and then gesture toward the crackling fire you started. âI also made dinner.â
âYou spoil me.â
âItâs what friends do.â
"Friend," he muses, the white pools of his eyes burning into your soul, as he turns to you. "As a friend, I should tell you that your dress is absolutely atrocious on you. Cobalt blue is more your color."
With a glare, you playfully throw the roasted chicken over the fire at his face. He effortlessly catches it with his mouth, cackling as he chews on the tender piece of meat.
"What do you know about fashion? All you do is thirst for robes."
âYou forget that I am older than the bones of this world. I know everything about everything. I also cannot lie.â
"Doesn't stop you from hiding the truth," you respond cheekily, and he hums in agreement,
Silence falls as he seats himself beside you on the ground. He breaks it a couple of moments later. âRemember what I told you last time?â
You release a deep sigh because you do remember. The mere thought haunts you nearly every night, and youâre often burdened by the heavy weight of it. Your shoulders slump in response. âWhy can't you do it yourself?â
âIt is your fate, not mine,â he states simply, a reminder of the immutable laws of destiny.
âIâm not ready.âÂ
You donât think you ever will be and suddenly, youâre that fragile sixteen year old again, who had to run away from the only place you called home to escape a cruel fate. The one who was left to navigate through her new onset of divine abilities alone.
That is, until, the fateful night you had thrown your cloak over a tree branch to dry. It had been stained by blood after a rough and almost deadly encounter with a stray naga so you had spent all morning cleaning it in the river nearby. Completely unaware of the Suriel you were summoning.
âYou do not fear me?â
âThat is mine,â you had said through clenched teeth with a deep rooted glare.
In the midst of your tug of war with the Suriel, your cloak tore in half. In that moment, you braced yourself for the dark creature's wrath. However, something in you captured his attention that day, and he chose not to unleash his fury upon you. He decided to take you under his wing instead.
He recognized your lineage without a single word spoken about it. He could sense your power coursing through your veins, waiting to be unraveled. After decades of patience and practicing, he was there to witness the formation of stars weaving themselves into the depths of your eyes. The mark of your seer abilities.
As always, the Suriel reads you like an open book. He can sense your insecurity, your hesitancy. But, in equal measure, he can sense your power, your potential.
âYou will be,â he insists, his words carrying the unwavering certainty of the all-knowing creature he is. âYou must guide and open the eyes of Elain Archeron the same way I did for you.â
Your throat tightens. âWhen?â
âSoon.â
And when you look up to gaze at the night sky, the stars align for you. A cascade of visions unfurls, pouring over you like a celestial waterfall. Your eyes become a myriad of galaxies and ears are teased with glimpses of conversations and whispers from the stars above. One moment, youâre in a forest, standing before a female figure crouched over a cloaked one.Â
âThe trackingâŠI knew of it.âÂ
Then, a rattling breath. âLeave this world a better place than how you found it.â
Abruptly, the scene shifts, and you stand in an enchanting city of starlight, gazing at the expansive river before you as anticipation fills the air. He comes for you. Azriel, the shadowsinger. The name resonates in the echoes of your mind.
Then, the final vision envelopes you, drawing you into the depths of mesmerizing hazel eyes. The voice that accompanies it is carried by the enchantment of night, gently caressing against your ears.Â
âIâve been waiting for you.â
Mate. That is your mate. Azriel, theâ
âDo you see it now?â
With a sharp intake of breath, youâre pulled from the downpour of your visions, only to find your senses clouded with tears that pool at the corners of your eyes. How cruel, you think, your heart twisting in agony. And though meeting your mateâyour fated companionâwas among your greatest dreams, you no longer want it. Not if it means youâll lose your greatest companion.
You can live without knowing your mate. After all, youâre doing so at this very moment. The Suriel has been your friend for decades. Two souls brought together by their mutual loneliness. An all knowing creature and a seer. Together, youâre a powerful duo, navigating through the fated intricacies of Prythian. Youâd be lost without him.
âPlease donât go,â youâre begging.
The Suriel smiles but itâs not his usual mischievous grin. This time, a tinge of sorrow lingers in the curve of his lips, casting his expression in a veil of sadness.
âI have to. Itâs my time to go,â he says. âJust promise me one thing?â
âAnything.â
âThat when itâs your time to shine, youâll find Feyre. Help her make this world a better place.â
Back to Present
Feyre blinks back tears as she withdraws from your mind. She turns her head toward the Shadowsinger behind her, and for a moment, fear grips you. You allowed her to see the revelation of Azriel being your mate but only because it was deeply entwined with the other pertinent visions.
âRelease her.â
The shadows release their grip on you and you let out a deep exhale in relief. But the inky tendrils donât leave your side. They linger and hover over you and at this, Azrielâs eyebrows furrow.
Feyre extends her hand out toward you. Her blue eyes are warm, a gentle reassurance that sheâd harbor your secret for you. A smile graces her lips, one that you're happy to reciprocate.
âIâll gladly accept your help but let me speak with Elain first. You may stay here. Thereâs a spare room upstairs. Azriel will show you around.â
Following his High Ladyâs orders, Azriel shows you around the grand estate. Heâs a bit reserved around you and you donât blame him. Both a blessing and a curse, your visions offer insight into his world, yet you're a mere stranger imposing on the family he protects fiercely.
And as he finally shows you to your room, the one right next to his, you can only hope that someday, heâll welcome you too. After all, he is your mate.
Elain Archeron is infinitely beautiful. Inside and out. She is gentle and sweet and you see why some mistake her kindness for weakness. But it took only days for you to become well aware of the strength and power she harbors deep within.
While your abilities were limited to what the stars wanted to show you, you sensed that hers were limitless. With the right training, she could summon visions at her call, anticipate anyone's move. You wanted to help her achieve that and prove those people that saw her as something fragile wrong. Though reluctant toward your help at first, Elain was kind enough to listen to you and consider the advice you gave. It took some further convincing but you knew she was itching to unravel the depths of her powers too.
But it's proving to be a challenge. A hard and exhausting one. You're not surprised. It took you many years to become attuned to your powers. What is surprising, however, are Azriel's feelings for her. They're obvious and plain to see and could you blame him? Elain is wonderful...and you can't help but compare yourself to her. She's everything you're not.
Upon your arrival, you had been set on making Azriel fall for you. That was, until, you realized he was already entangled in the threads of another's heart. Could it be that the Suriel, in his all knowing wisdom, purposefully shielded you from such revelations about your mate? To delay the shattering of your dreams?
Now, you were just content to focus on your task at hand. To help Elain the way the Suriel did with you, even if Azriel was there as a safety net for her every session. Even if the way he was well attuned to every shift of her expression sent a sharp pain stabbing through your heart. He was blissfully unaware of your connection, clouded by his affection for Elain.
And you were tired of chasing after males. It's why you shot down Feyre's suggestion of confessing to Azriel. You dreamed of having a mate, pleaded to the Cauldron even. Now, you realize, that you want Azriel to like you for you. To chose you too the way Feyre did with Rhysand. If Elain was the person he chose at the moment, then so be it.
"I don't chase. I attract," you told Feyre. The same words you had uttered to the Suriel years ago after he poked fun at you over a failed romance. One of many, unfortunately.
"The only thing you'll attract with that attitude of of yours is a dark cloud of shadows," The Suriel had laughed at you, earning an icy glare from you.
But Feyre is much nicer about it than your dear old friend. She gives you an encouraging smile instead and wishes you luck on your upcoming session with Elain.
Your session with Elain ends terriblyâwith her screaming in pain and Azriel glaring at you and telling you to go, despite your attempts at apologizing. You spend the following days, weeks even, trying to make up for it. You slowed down in pace in your exercises with Elain, despite her protests. She held no animosity toward you at the dark turn that session had made.
You also buried yourself into any book you could find about seers in the magnificent Night Court library, grieving and longing for the Suriel. He would know what to do, and know exactly how to help. Itâs the mere thought of him that fuels your determination to keep trying, despite how much you want to leave. Itâs laughable almost, how in the midst of so many people, the sense of loneliness weighs heavier on you than it ever did in the solitude of Prythian's forests.
But perhaps, a break wouldn't be such a bad idea? You think as your gaze lands on an intriguing cover. It's a work of pure fiction. The ideal escape from reality. Retrieving it from its shelf, you settle into one of the plush chairs and immerse yourself into the words etched onto the pages.
âWake up, sleeping beauty.â
A nudge against your leg startles you awake, and as you blink away the remnants of sleep, your eyes widen at the sight of Azriel standing before you. Sleeping beauty, the words sink in, painting a soft blush over your cheeks.
âYou missed dinner.â
âOh.â
You turn your head, wincing at the dull ache in your neck from sleeping in an awkward position. The soft glow of the moon greets you through one of the library's windows. You donât know when you had fallen asleep but you mustâve been out for hours. When you face Azriel again, your gaze drops to his hands, where he holds a carefully arranged plate of food. Your stomach growls as the scent hits you and your eyes linger on the generous serving of potatoesâyour favoriteâin comparison to the other vegetables and meat.
âIs that for me?â you ask, and immediately curse yourself for the seemingly silly question. You blame it on the lingering grasp of sleep, still reluctant to release its full grip on you.
"No, it's for the rats that come out at night," he replies, lips twitching upwards at the reaction it stirs from you. How the Suriel never scared you but a couple of hairy, smaller creatures do is beyond you. He places the plate on the small table beside you.
"Yes, it's for you. A peace offering. For snapping at you."
"That was two weeks ago.â
"Bet you didn't see it coming," he teases, and you find yourself blinking in surprise. The Shadowsinger cracking a joke? It's a sight to behold. At least for you.Â
Your eyes narrow. "Did Feyre send you?"
"No," Azriel replies simply, his tone carrying a sincerity that sets a flicker of hope alight in you. He then sighs. "I just realized I haven't been the most welcoming, that's all."
You smile in response and shift in your seat as you turn your body towards the food. The movement has the book in your lap falling. His hand reaches the book before yours could and the brush of your skin against his sends a delightful shudder through your body.
His eyes curiously look over the title and when he hands it back to you, you take note of the way he avoids looking at his scarred fingers. So you reach forward and brush your fingers against his again, letting them linger for a beat longer than before. Surprise flickers in his hazel eyes as he meets your gaze, but it vanishes as quickly as it appears.
âThat book is one of my favorites," he says, his shadows dancing across his shoulders and peeking curiously at you. "I'm surprised you're into the mystery genre."
"Why?"
âWell, youâre hard to read sometimes. Like a mystery that refuses to be solved.â
An arched brow is your response, but the gleam in your eyes gives away more than you'd like. âMaybe I donât want to be unraveled.â
Azriel's lips twitch upwards once more. âMaybe it just takes the right person.â
Bathed in the glow of sunlight, you and Elain sit across from one another on the soft bed of green grass. Meanwhile, Azriel leans against a tree, a couple of feet away. His gaze is intense as he watches you two. Too focused on not letting it faze you, you fail to catch the way it softens when he turns to you.
Azriel canât help but frown when he catches you avoiding his gaze. He wonders if you still harbor some resentment toward the way he had snapped at you awhile back, even though he already apologized for it.
"Close your eyes and focus on your breath," he hears you instruct softly. "Feel the rhythm of the earth beneath you. Attune yourself to the heartbeat of the world around you. What do you hear?â
Elain closes her eyes in deep concentration. âI can hear the wind and the tremble of the grass beneath it. I can hear the wind carry all the way to the sea.â
âGood,â you say and though her eyes remain closed, you smile gently at her. A gesture that sends a rush of warmth through him.
âNow feel the whispers of the unseen.â
âI canât.â Elainâs eyebrows furrow.
âHere, take my hands,â you say as you reach for hers. âImagine a pool of water within you, calm and reflective. Use me as a vessel to carry you through it. Iâll guide you to where your visions will manifest.â
Elain does as told. The world stills around you two. You close your eyes. As Elainâs eyebrows relax, your own face contorts in concentration. Azriel feels himself tense when he realizes itâs not concentration etching onto your faceâitâs pain. In a heartbeat, heâs kneeling before you and prying your hands apart.
âStop!â
Your eyes snap open at the sudden disconnection, and Azriel is unsettled by the way you shrink back from him, panic widening your eyes.
âIâm not hurting her!â
But itâs not Elain heâs worried about. He hasnât even spared her a glance. Itâs youâyouâre the one thatâs hurt. Blood trickles down your nose and heâs urging you to lean forward, gently guiding you with his hands as Elain rushes for a towel.
âAre you okay?â
Thereâs a dull ache in your head but also one in your heart and youâre too disoriented to stop yourself from saying, âIf you stop staring at me like that, I will be.â
Azriel releases a soft chuckle, his muscles relaxing in relief at the playful edge in your tone. Yet, his shadows, wanting to confirm you're okay themselves, flutter toward you in a delicate cloud of darkness.
"Like what?â
âDonât make me answer that.â
And youâve never felt more relief at the sight of Elain coming in between you with a towel in hand.
A sudden sound has you stirring from your sleep. Your hand instinctively slides under your pillow, fingers grasping for the dagger you always keep with you when sleeping. The sound comes again and your initially alarmed body relaxes as you recognize it as the sound of someone knocking. Wrapping a robe around your night shift, you head toward the door, expecting Elain on the other side.Â
Upon opening your door, youâre surprised to find Azriel standing on the other side.
âYouâre not going to Starfall?â
âGood morning to you too.â
Azrielâs eyes rake over your form, taking in your disheveled state. His lips curl into a faint smile. "It's noon," he observes in an amused manner.
Your eyes widen in disbelief, and you pivot your head toward the clock that hangs on the wall of your room. There, confirming his statement, the hands point a half hour past twelve. You overslept. You didnât have any plans today and it seems your exhausted body took advantage of it.
âIs everything okay?â
His voice, laced with genuine concern, draws your attention back to him. The soft furrow of his brow and the warmth in his eyes catch you off guard. You hesitate. You donât want to lie but you also donât want to burden him with the truth.
So you settle for a, âWhy?â
"I've noticed you haven't been sleeping much," he remarks, and before you can interrupt, he gestures toward his room, the one adjacent to yours. A silent acknowledgment that he's been more attentive than you realized. It pulls at the strings of your heart. "Or attending family dinners, and now Feyre tells me you're not going to Starfall?"
The weight of his observations presses on you. You didnât think anyone had noticed. "Why do you care?" you retort, your words sharper than intended, and a wince follows.
"Isolation is not a good coping method," he responds, his tone steady and unfazed by your sharpness. "Trust me, I know."
"I don't have a dress."Â The words escape your lips, but even as you say them, you recognize the feebleness of the excuse.
âIâll buy you one.â
Heat rises to your cheeks, and you feel a telltale blush spreading as the thought of Azriel buying you a dress takes root. Heâs just being nice, you tell yourself. His gaze remains fixed on you, hazel eyes bright and gleaming with curiosity, as if daring you to come up with another excuse.
âStarfall is tomorrow.â
Azriel grins at you. It sends a flutter through your heart and you wonder if he can hear the erratic beat of it.Â
âBetter make haste and get dressed then. Weâve got a couple of hours before the shops close.â
You deliberately take extra time getting ready, a mix of anticipation and apprehension swirling within you as you prepare to spend time with Azriel. Half-expecting a hint of annoyance, you finally open the door to your room, only to find Azriel with a welcoming smile that has the bond in your chest humming. Still, you're met with silence at the other side.
You take a deep breath as he gestures for you to follow him. As you step outside, he offers his arm and winnows you, not wanting to waste anymore time. You both find yourselves in the bustling shopping plaza of Velaris, where the fragrance of blooming flowers and the animated chatter of people embrace you.
Elaborate Starfall-themed displays adorn the shops, enticing you inside. Suddenly, the sheer array overwhelms you, and an urge to step back washes over you. Azriel place a hand on your back, stopping you and guiding you towards one of the shops.
âWelcome!â A voice happily chirps. âHow can I help you?â
A stunning female enters your line of sight, her gaze immediately fixating on the male standing behind you. Her lips curve into a captivating smile, causing a twinge of jealousy to flicker within you. Itâs short lived as Azriel clears his throat, gently nudging you forward.
âWeâre looking for a dress for her.â Azriel speaks for you.
âSplendid! Whatâs the special occasion?â
âStarfall.â Azriel answers.
The femaleâs eyes widen, her smile morphing into a strained one. âIâm afraid Iâve sold all my best work already.â
âOh, thatâs alright. Sorry for the trouble,â you quickly reply, attempting to conceal the relief in your voice. Turning to leave, Azriel's hands land on your shoulders, directing you back to face the female.
âIâm sure we can find something in here,â Azriel reassures with a polite smile, scanning the aisles of dresses. âY/n isn't picky. Right?â
âI can be,â you mumble under your breath.
Azriel lets out a sound, what you discern as a muffled chuckle. He gives your shoulder a squeeze and then leans down toward your ear. âIf I were you, Iâd take advantage of the situation.â
You turn your head slightly and regret it immediately. It takes all your strength to hold back the shudder your body wants to give at his proximity. Heâs so close you can feel his breath fanning against your neck and you wonder what it would feel like to have his lips pressed against that sensitive skin.
It surprises you how quickly you find your voice.
âIâm going to pick the most expensive one.â
âGo ahead,â Azriel says and you can hear the smirk in his voice without having to look at him. He doesnât allow you to get another word in, urging you forward again to where the female patiently awaits for you.
She lightly grasps your arm, leading you toward a rack of dresses in various styles and colors while Azriel makes himself comfortable on the couch by the fitting room. âYou are a lucky lady,â she muses, her hands gracefully exploring the textures of her creations. âIâve had this shop for centuries and youâre the first lady the Shadowsinger has brought to me.â
A blush warms your cheeks as you divert your attention to the array of beautiful dresses. Each one is a work of art, making you question her earlier claim about not having her best work available. If these weren't her finest creations, the thought of what her best work looked like leaves you intrigued.
The female, whoâs name you learn is Willow, has you try on a couple of dresses that differ in styles. Youâre reluctant to show Azriel each one but given heâs paying for it and the only other one in this shop, you feel like he should have some say.
âDo you like it?â Willow beams at you, admiring her work.
On the fifth dress, your hands run over the tulle of the vibrant yellow skirt. The fabric feels itchy against your skin, and the color is too bold for your taste. You swear you are not trying to be picky, despite what you told Azriel earlier.Â
âI liââ
âLetâs try another?â Azriel cuts in as if sensing the lie that was about to unfold. He rises from his seat toward one of the racks and pulls out a dress that caught his eye earlier. âHow about this one?â
He holds the dress out to you, smiling softly when you take it from him. Itâs much simpler compared to the other dress youâve tried on but still just as elegant. Itâs also soft against your skin. Willow guides you back into the fitting room, deftly assisting you out of the vivid yellow dress and into the cobalt blue silk one.
âI donât know how I didnât see it before. Cobalt blue is more your color!" Willow says as she gushes over you.
Her choice of words leaves you momentarily stunned. Cobalt blue is more your color. The exact words the Suriel had spoken to you. Also, the exact same shade as Azriel's siphons. The Suriel mustâve enjoyed himself a lot when he said those words to you. That sneaky little creature... You can hear his laugh echoing through your mind.
As you finally emerge from the dressing room, Azriel canât help but stare. The fabric drapes gracefully around you, accentuating curves he hadn't noticed before. Sensing his prolonged gaze, your eyes meet his. It was him quickly averting his gaze, a subtle flush coloring his cheeks. He clears his throat, attempting to regain his composure.
"This is the one. It looksâŠgood on you," he manages to say, his voice slightly strained.
âItâs 500 gold marks.â
He picks up on the teasing in your tone and the way Willow shakes her head in reassurance at him. Still, he humors you and says, âI donât care.â
Heâd pay more than 500 gold marks just to make you happy.
Azriel battled with restless thoughts that night, unable to find solace in sleep. Each time he closed his eyes, the vivid image of you in that dress invaded his mind. He couldnât wait to see you in that dress again. Maybe then, heâd have the courage to compliment you better.
As the sun dipped below the horizon and the first guests arrived for the Starfall celebration, Azriel's eyes eagerly scanned the gathering crowd, seeking a glimpse of you. Just as a twinge of disappointment crept in, his shadows stirred, signaling your proximity. His wings twitched with anticipation, and his breath caught in his throat at the sight of you. You are absolutely stunning. Breathtaking.Â
In an instant heartbeat, heâs pushing Cassian, who was ready to fly you up to the House of Wind, aside. With a warning look, Cassian steps away with a chuckle.
"You're here," he whispers, a blend of disbelief and relief saturating his breath.
âWell a very nice male spent a lot of money for me to be here.â
âWell Iâm glad.â Azriel chuckles, eyes drinking you in again. Savoring you. âYouâre beautiful.â
âSo are you.â
Azriel flushes at the unexpected compliment and his shadows to come to life around him. He smiles at you. âShall we?â
He waits for your nod before carefully hooking an arm beneath your knees, eyes never leaving yours. A thrill courses through him as he revels in the sensation of your arms around his neck, taking delight in the way you feel in his arms. His wings unfurl behind him, preparing for the short flight up. The sound has your eyes fluttering shut, arms tightening around him and face burying into his neck. He finds it absolutely endearing. He never wants to let you go.
Against his wishes, the flight up to the balcony was short. He sets you down, helping you regain your footing, a lingering touch before reluctantly releasing you. Thereâs still more guests he, unfortunately, has to fly up. Itâs as if you sense his internal conflict because youâre turning around to face him, eyes bright and alight.
âYes, Azriel. Iâll save you a dance.â
The way his name rolls off your tongue sends a thrill up his spine. He opens his mouth to say something but once again, you beat him to it.
"Thought I'd save you the question," you stated, an all-knowing grin gracing your features as you tapped the corner of one of your eyes. Ah, so you had a vision of him. He wonders about the other glimpses you might have seen.
He doesnât have too much time to dwell on it as Elain is rushing toward you, showering you with compliments. He takes that as his cue to depart. He is determined to finish his tasks in bringing the remaining guests up as fast as he can so that he can return to you and that dance you promised.
Azriel finds himself stealing glances whenever he thinks you wonât notice. The sparkle in your eyes, the way the dress accentuates your featuresâhe can't look away. Caught up in the melody of your laughter, provoked by something Elain said, Azriel and his shadows are too mesmerized in the beauty of you to notice Feyre approaching until she speaks.
"Sheâs beautiful," Feyre remarks, her eyes following the same path as Azriel's gaze.
A soft affirmation escapes Azriel's lips. "Yes."
Feyre, well aware of the answer, delves further. "You bought her that dress?"
âYes.â
A mischievous gleam flickers in Feyre's eyes as she delivers her next statement. "You like her."Â
Azriel's response slips out before he can even grasp the depth of his own admission. "Yes."
He turns to Feyre, his wide eyes betraying the shock of his own revelation. A slight pallor washes over his skin, and Feyre chuckles at his reaction. Sensing the tension in the air, she rests a reassuring arm on his shoulder. âI like her too,â she confesses.
Though, both of them recognize that Azriel's feelings for you run deeper and in more intricate ways than Feyre's own fondness.
âI offered her a place in this court. She said sheâd think about it. Maybe you can convince her? The same way you convinced her to come to Starfall,â Feyre says and then with one last pat on his shoulder, she makes her way back toward Rhysand.
Still recovering from the revelation of his own feelings, it takes a while longer for the weight of Feyreâs words to sink in. A mixture of surprise, uncertainty, and a flicker of hope plays out across his features. You werenât planning on staying? The thought of you leavingâleaving him stirs a feeling in his chest. His eyes seek you out again but youâre no longer standing beside Elain. Â
In your place, stands Lucien and normally the sight would trigger dark emotions from him. But now? He feels nothing. Thereâs no sense of envy. His affections have shifted elsewhere.
Azrielâs shadows fall to the floor, slithering against the cool tile like serpents of the night. They lead the way directly to where you stand, by the champagne table. He makes his way toward you and you're downing the rest of the liquid in your glass.
âAzriel.â You smile at him.
âItâs time for you to fulfill the promise you made me.â
âOf course,â you reply, offering him your hand.
Azriel gracefully pulls you into his embrace. One hand wraps around yours while the other rests on your waist. The enchanting melody guides your movements as the two of you glide across the floor.
âFeyre told me she offered you a role in this court.â
Your eyes, wise and mysterious, meet his, and he feels your body tense under his hold. âWhat else did she tell you?â
âThat youâd think about it,â he says, the rhythm of the dance allowing for a moment of ease to settle between you. âYou should stay.â
âWhy?â
A wistful expression colors your features and the soft glow of stars are reflected in your eyes. The music comes to a gradual end and you free yourself of his hold before the next song begins.
âThereâs no one here for me.â You admit and then give a small laugh as you look down. There's a deep, haunting sadness to your laughter, striking a chord within him.
âIâm right here.âÂ
Lifting your head back up, your eyes search his for something with a glimmer of hope. An eternity seems to pass in your gaze. A frown settles over your lips and he feels a tinge of sadness. Whatever you sought, it seems you did not find it.
Suppressing the surge of emotions within him, his hand reaches for yours again. He guides you to somewhere more private, toward one of the balconies that is off limits to the guests. âTalk to me,â he says, his words carrying an invitation for you to unburden your heart.
Your hands grip onto the railing before you and attention is directed up towards the night sky. He mirrors your actions, resting his hands close to yours. So close he can feel your warmth but not close enough to touch.
"It feels weird being here," you sigh deeply. "My mother and I used to sneak out of Hewn City on Starfall just to catch a glimpse of these migrating spirits every year...until she realized what I was. She said I was a curse, said she would turn me into Keir and let him have his way with me if I didn't leave."
Azriel's fingers clench into a white knuckled grip at your words.
"Not that leaving a horrible city such as Hewn was exactly a punishment. It was probably for the best. Still didn't stop me from being scared. It was the first time in my life that I was actually alone. I learned how to survive."
"I met the Suriel a year later. He must've taken pity on me and would visit me without being summoned. Sometimes, it'd be to tease me with some gossip. Other times, to annoy and chide me for my mistakes. Most importantly, he taught me how to not only survive on my own but live alone. I don't know, it's probably silly but I just felt a lot less lonely when I was actually alone than I do here."
âItâs not silly. I used to feel that way too.â Azriel admits and after a moment of silence, heâs turning toward you. âAm I not your friend?â
âI donât know,â you find yourself saying again, uncertainty clouding your expression. Pausing, you tear your gaze from the night sky to look at him. âDo you want to be?â
âYes,â Azriel smiles at you. And so much more.Â
You smile back at him but it doesnât last long. Turning your head to face directly ahead, you bite the inside of your cheek in hesitation, revealing to Azriel that thereâs more troubling you than your sense of loneliness.
âWhat else?âÂ
âThereâs nothing else.â
ây/n.â
âI feel like a failure.â
Azriel's eyes widen, his heart sinking to his stomach. âYouâre not,â he reassures quickly.
âIâI just,â you stammer, the weight of self-doubt evident in your voice. âItâs nearing four months since Iâve arrived, and I feel like Iâve barely scratched the surface with Elain.â
âHow long did it take you to harness your abilities?â
âDecades,â you respond, the admission carrying a hint of sheepishness. âBut Elain is different. This is different. I donât want to disappoint her. Disappoint Feyre. The world we know is crumbling apart, and we donât have time. Ifâif we cannot fix it before itâs too late, I will have failed him.â
âHey, look at me.â
When you donât, Azriel lightly grips your chin, coaxing your gaze to him. âYouâre here, arenât you? Youâre honoring his wish by just being here. Keep trying,â he encourages, wiping away your tears. âIâll be here with you every step of the way. Youâre not alone. Weâll face this together.â
âTogether?â
He releases his hold on you, resting his hand once more on the rail. This time, itâs even closer to yours.
âTogether,â he confirms, heart swarming with warmth when your hand bridges the gap between you and brushes against his.Â
And finally, it seems your lonely days are through.
Azrielâs been in love before. Twice. Or at least, he thought it was love. One was unrequited, a silent ache he carried within. The other was forbidden, a love he had clung to with misguided hope. He was beginning to come to the begrudging conclusion that love was simply not meant for him.
Then, you came along. Strange as it seems, you've seemed to have brought back that old feeling to him, awakening something deep inside of him. And though he doesn't know what you did, he thinks--he hopes that you could be the one. The one to possibly release him from the chains of solitude and longing.
You've rarely left his mind since the night he met you. The echoes of your first words to him lingered in his mind long after your encounter, âIâve been waiting for you.â
Your voice was cloaked in both mystery and certainty, as though you held the threads of destiny within your grasp. It prompted him to ask who you were but your answer, âthatâs for you to decideâ only gave rise to more questions.Â
Then, there was that smile. So beautiful, so hopeful. It etched itself into the recesses of his memory. It was a smile no one had ever bestowed upon him before and one he longed to see it again.
And he almost ruined it allâthat day he snapped at you after a session gone wrong with Elain. Your intentions were always pure. He knew this. No one was at fault as everything that transpired between you and Elain was completely consensual. But the scream that tore through Elain sent him in a heightened frenzy. He had sworn to Rhysand and Feyre, his High Lord and High Lady, that he would protect Elain. Before he could properly assess the situation, he had roughly pushed you aside with a growl. The hurt that flashed in your eyes in response haunted him nearly every night.
You began to actively avoid his gaze and presence whenever possible, and guilt gnawed at him relentlessly. Even his shadows, missing your attention, seemed angry with him. Truth be told, he was angry with himself too. You had made friends with everyone. Everyone but him.
The following two weeks became a series of futile attempts at groveling, your obliviousness to it all cutting deeper than he cared to admit. The breaking point came when you missed dinner, and he knew it was time to set things right then. So he sent his shadows to look for you and when they reported back to him that you were sleeping in the library, he brought your dinner to you.
After that moment, the atmosphere between you two shifted. He became the chaser, gradually closing the distance between you.
You looked his way more, approached him with a newfound openness, and your conversations became more frequent. You teased him at times, even, with your cryptic words. But rather than frustrating him, it only made him seek you out more. He wanted to be the one to unravel the mystery that was you.
Somewhere down the line, his eyes stopped searching for Elain's. The private moments he sought with her became mere echoes of the pastâno more lingering touches, exchanged glances, or pointless conversations. Instead, it was you who occupied the center of his attention, infiltrating his dreams and igniting desires he never knew he harbored.
You eased him like no other, effortlessly coaxing smiles and laughter from him. It was in these moments that the realization struck him like a bolt of lightningâhe had never truly been in love during the first two instances. What he felt for you was different. He was unwilling to let his feelings linger in the shadows, as they had done before. He yearned for them to step into the light. To be acknowledged and acted upon openly.
He decided to wait until after Solstice to confess to you and hoped that your visions wouldn't give him away.
Laughter and clinks of wine glasses ring through the air. Azriel knows itâs time to open presents, his shadows singing loudly and overwhelming him with information. Cassian is sneaking a peak. Rhysand is rolling his eyes. Elain got Lucien a present. y/n is holding back tears.
Azriel tenses at the last bit of information, eyes immediately finding you. Youâre seated beside Feyreâthe two of you exchanging smiles. Thereâs an unwrapped present on your lap and his shadows dart toward it. Itâs a small portrait of the Suriel. He hears you thank Feyre and he swears he can feel your ache of grief. He moves to stand from his seat but Elain stops him.
âHappy Solstice,â she says, holding out a small present. He takes the box albeit reluctantly but politely and opens it to find two tickets to an upcoming play.Â
Elain smiles at the frown heâs trying to hide.
"Elain, I can't--"
âY/n mentioned always wanting to go see a play. I thought maybe you could be the one to take her. After you confess."
His eyes search hers for any traces of hurt. Heâs relieved when he finds none but the frown in his brow remains. âHowââ
âShe trained me well," Elain replies, eyes shining with an all knowing gleam he's seen in yours. "She deserves to be happy. You both do and something tells me that sheâs the one youâve been waiting for.â
Gods, you and Elain have been hanging out so much with one another that now sheâs beginning to talk like you. There's a tightening in his chest, like a band about to snap at her words.
Azriel looks back at Elain in question but she only smiles at him once more before retreating back to where she was sitting previously. Next to Lucien, who also sends a smile his way.
Looking down at the tickets, he thinks of you again. His shadows stir, mirroring the strange sensation in his chest. Itâs almost like a pull and his shadows guide him toward it, turning his head for him. Just in time to catch a glimpse of you quietly slipping away from the festivities. His steps quicken as he follows you, pulling his coat along with him.
The soft flakes of snow flutter down, a delicate dance in the winter night. Despite weeks of continuous snowfall, the enchanting beauty of it never fails to captivate you. It differs markedly from the unforgiving snowstorms you endured while wandering the Night Court's forests. Though just as cold, it prompts an involuntary shiver, a reaction to the biting chill in the air.
As the door behind you creaks open, a rush of warmth accompanies its movement. The scent of cedar invades your senses, growing more intense as you feel a fabric drape over your shoulders, bringing forth an intimate warmth.
"Hey," Azriel breathes, a visible puff of white escaping his lips.
"Hi," you smile back at him, your fingers instinctively reaching for the coat that draped over your shoulders. You can't help but notice the thin sweater he wears. "Won't you be cold, though?"
Azriel stops you, securing his coat back onto your smaller frame with a reassuring smile. âI grew up in a camp where it snowed a lot more than this. Iâll be fine.â
You look back up at the night sky. The stars are shining so bright. It makes you wonder if they ever tire. They seem to answer you as their radiant beams cast a celestial glow upon you. Your vision blurs in surrender.
âWhat are you seeing?â Azriel inquires, curious. He hopes it's not the confession he's aching to spill.
Your eyebrows knit together, and you close your eyes, immersing yourself in deciphering the messages woven between the stars. Upon opening your eyes, you turn to Azriel, a teasing smirk playing on your lips.
âYou're going to get frostbite."
Azriel lets out an amused huff. "I don't care. As long as you're warm."
"We should head back inside," you suggest.
"No," Azriel insists, enfolding a wing around your form, anchoring you in place. His shadows can sense you don't want to go back inside yet. "I like being alone with you."
The wind nips at your cheeks, a sensation you welcome as it gives the perfect excuse for the blush creeping across your face. Tearing your gaze away from Azriel before he can discern his effect on you, you quietly share, "Nyx is going to say his first word in three days."
Azriel leans forward and you can feel his anticipation. A familial bet circulates among his uncles and aunts (save for Elain) regarding what the young heirâs first word will be. âWhat is it?â
âCas.â
Azriel can't resist glancing back toward the house, his eyes narrowing with a mix of suspicion and curiosity. There, he catches a fleeting glimpse of Cassian playfully hoisting Nyx in the air, the two engaged in a lively game of chase around the living room. When he turns his attention back to you, mischief twinkles in your eyes.
âYouâre lying.â
âYou fell for it."
And that smile heâs been longing for since he met you graces your lips as you laugh. A sweet and beautiful sound that warms the winter air. Azriel's gaze dips toward your lips, captivated by the sound, before lifting back to meet your eyes. He leans in even closer.
âI fell for you.â
You also lean in, eyes never leaving his. "The answer is yes."
"What?"
Azriel nearly stumbles back, caught off guard, but you remain close, lifting a hand and cradling his cheek. It's surprisingly warm and he instinctively leans into your touch. His eyes widen. Did youâ
âTo you taking me on a date,â you reveal, your smile deepening, and he swears his shadows snicker in response. âThe vision I just saw. It was of me and you at a theater. Next Friday at seven.â
âNext Friday at seven,â Azriel confirms, a tender affection lighting up his expression.
The air seems to shimmer with the promise of an enchanting future. You reach out, tugging at the bond in your chest. Once again, there is only silence. Yet, you canât bring yourself to care anymore. Not when Azriel is gazing at you as though you are the very stars illuminating the night sky.
And then you're kissing him.
The snow crunches underfoot as Azriel moves, his usually keen senses dulled. His mind is elsewhere, consumed by thoughts of you. Even as the icy missiles fly past him, Azriel remains lost in the memories of shared glances and smiles and the way your lips felt so perfect against his last night.
For the first time in years, Azriel finds himself on the losing side of the annual snowball fight. Oddly, no disappointment lingers, even after meticulous planning for this anticipated victory. All he wants is to return homeâto you.
Amidst the snowy chaos, revelation strikes him simultaneously with a snowball from Rhysand. The snap, the bondâeverything falls into place. It all makes sense now. Your words when you first met. Elainâs words last night at Solstice. Why your presence thrilled and delighted him. Why he couldn't shake the feeling of love and adoration for you.
You are his mate.Â
The one he had been longing and pleading for, and the realization left him breathless. He shakes the snow from his face and Rhysand blinks back at him in surprise. The High Lord had been expecting a glare but he only finds pure shock on Azrielâs face.
âOh come on, I didnât hit you that hard,â he teases.
âI have to go.â
âIf you leave, youâre forfeiting,â warns Cassian, but the glint in his eye betrays a desire for Azriel to leave, eager for a victory.
âI yield,â Azriel says mindlessly, surprising even Rhysand. Feeling his friend's talons probing his mind, Azriel throws up his shields and disappears into his shadows, abandoning the snow-covered battlefield. He'll explain later.
For now, he has to find you.
His shadows winnow him back to the River house and he doesnât have to look for long because there you are, making your way down the last step and standing in his path. Thereâs not much that surprises you but that has changed since meeting Azriel and this moment is no different. Your eyes are widening, mouth parting.
âAzriel," you say. "What are you doing here? I thought you wereââ
âItâs you,â Azriel interrupts breathlessly as if he was running, chest rising and falling quickly in step with the erratic beating of his heart. Heâs bridging the distance between you. âAll this time. Itâs been you.â
You swallow thickly. âYou know?â
The glimmer of hope that had ignited during Starfall returns to your eyes, revealing a world he hadnât realized existed. How could he have been so blind?
Azriel smiles at you and itâs as if thatâs the last piece to the puzzle as the bond between you both comes to life, singing loudly against your chests. He pulls you flush against him and spins you around, eliciting a delightful squeal from you. Cradling your face in his hands, he kisses your forehead, then the corners of your eyes. He saves your lips for last, lingering in the sweet taste of them for a moment longer.
âYouâre my mate,â he says quietly, leaning his forehead against yours.
âYes,â you manage to whisper back, surrendering yourself to the depths of his mesmerizing hazel eyes, just like in the vision from months ago. And itâs not you who speaks again but Azriel.
âIâve been waiting for you.â
a/n: hope you all enjoyed this (: It took me longer to write than I thought because i'm used to writing more angst for Az than fluff but I wanted this to be different. It's canon that Elain found out that reader and Az were mates through a vision around the same time she decided to give Lucien a chance. I just want them all to be happy ⥠in terms of my ABBA x ACOTAR series, I think I'll work on another one for Cas next inspired by Honey, Honey. If you'd like to be tagged, just let me know!
