Kitty Dew Tidbits

Some important little things @sphylor, @divine-misfortune, and I have said that probably won't make its way into a post on its own.

This got long so there's a second post with puppy Mountain here

So Sphy did end up talking about the hats thing but I had already compiled this list so instead have some pictures of kitty Dew's hats

Also mentioned in that post is the shark onesie, which kitty Dew LOVES. It was originally Rain's so it's a bit big on him, but that makes it even more perfect because it smells like Rain and the sleeves are long enough to flap around

This one is a direct copy and paste because no summary will capture it correctly

Rain does that thing where he'll stick his tongue out a little when he's focused and Dew always mirrors it "oh its time for bleps now? ok!!" Rain: :p Dew: :p

Dew is captivated by videos of birds at bird feeders and sits as close to the TV as possible to bap at the birds

(one time they had to replace the TV because he tried to pounce on a bird and broke it)

(The first time he saw a bird outside the window he nearly got a concussion by pouncing at it head on)

Rain and Dew also sometimes watch ocean documentaries in bed on Rain's laptop, and Rain has to keep his arms around Dew to keep him from trying to attack the fish. Maybe also to hold a cuddly kitty, but mostly to keep him from pouncing... definitely

Speaking of sleepy kitty Dew, he has a very specific bedtime and if he and Rain aren't cuddled up in bed by that time he will meow incessantly at Rain, even herding him to their room if he's tired enough or Rain takes too long

He also never sleeps normally. There's a shared photo album with all the ghouls specifically for pictures of Dew in the oddest, most uncomfortable looking positions ever. Conversations in which Rain says "idk, I've gotten used to it" or Dew says "ooohh. So that's why my back hurts so much" are very common

He likes to sit in freshly made laundry, just napping the day away. It's warm and smells like his pack, so why wouldn't he nap there?

Every once in a while, really just often enough for it to not lose its novelty, if someone accidentally runs into kitty Dew, someone else will recite the Miette post for Dew

That's normally only when Dew didn't even notice he was bonked into. When he does, he puts on the biggest show of being hurt for attention, kisses, and cuddles. He does that every time he falls over, plays too hard, or anything else that could "hurt" him. If they had to pay infirmary bills Dew would be the cause for all of them from that alone.

Every time he goes outside, kitty Dew finds a rock to add to his collection. These rocks range from a piece of sidewalk that chipped off to something actually beautiful, and they are equally important

He also likes to steal buttons off people's clothes without them noticing. He stashes them under his bed, then after a while (when he remembers about the stash) Dew will put them in a box specifically for his buttons

The abbey only has door knobs, which kitty Dew can't figure out how to use, so Rain installed a handle for their bedroom door

1. Actually get close to him and let him cuddle up to you 2. He likes being scratched behind his horns 3. If you can't tell what he wants just sit or lay down and let him curl up to you, entertain himself, or direct you to what he wants 4. If he stretches to expose his belly this is NOT an invitation to pet him there. It is actually a dastardly trap (Proof: Swiss has scars) 5. DO NOT upset him you might actually die 6. Stop tensing up whenever he goes near you he's literally a cat what is he actually going to do 7. He really likes trying to catch your tail if you swish it across the floor 8. You gotta let him catch your tail eventually though otherwise he'll get stressed and WILL bite you. Also make sure to give him lots of praise when he catches it 9. Do not give him caffeine. He will get zoomies² and you will move up on Rain's hit list (Proof: Swiss has scars from that too)

He tried to fight the tinsel on the Christmas tree once. He was found with the smuggest face and tinsel everywhere on him

If he's feeling extra silly he likes to roly poly around (links to twitter)

Dew constantly bonks Rain's mouth to ask for kisses then just looks up at him expectantly. After he gets his kiss he holds little mousey out so it can get a kiss too

Sometimes when Rain goes to kiss Dew he will lightly bite Rain's nose instead, giggling like crazy when he pulls back

Rain reads to kitty Dew a lot. Mostly kids chapter books so that Dew can follow along

Rain often wakes up to kitty Dew staring at him, inches away from his face

Though if Dew gets tired of waiting for Rain to wake up, he'll start playing with Rain's plushes and slowly start batting them closer and closer to Rain's face to "accidentally" wake him up

Sometimes when Dew plays with his toys he makes quiet chirping sounds to himself, like he's talking to them or making them talk

Mountain going puppy triggers Dew's kitty brain and vice versa. This causes a lot of problems when one of them has work to do

The Waterbending Scroll

We start this post off with the unnerving DVD art for this disc:

My collection of wallpapers is ever-growing.

Makes sense that Aang would be stressed. Objectively speaking, trusting the salvation of the world to a twelve year old who is at best going to have a beginner's understanding of three out of four of his superpowers is a bad idea! It's just about the worst possible idea. Too bad it's apparently the only one that will work. Sokka even points out (with delightful sarcasm) how nonsensical the whole thing is, but does anyone have any better ideas?

Iroh has big dumbass energy here. He'd have to be deluded to genuinely think that getting a game tile is more important than capturing the avatar, which makes me think that he's not that keen on capturing the avatar after all.

"I'm lucky to have such an understanding nephew" immediately after Zuko breathes actual fire. Which I did not know he could do. I will say, plenty of wilful misinterpretation and misreading of reactions is necessary when dealing with teenagers. Once again making me think that Iroh has been looking after (wrangling) Zuko for a while.

I take it back, this is Appa living the dream.

Katara's tendency to baby Aang coming back to bite her in the long run. Raise your hand if you didn't see that coming.

Good thing they were practising bending water, not fire or earth. I guess you can be sloppy with water and air, but the other two?

And there go the supplies. What was that I was saying about it's a good thing he wasn't practising the more harmful elements?

Guy on the left has only one arm and one eye. Either the guy on the right is tiny or that's a giantess.

Water tribe scam artist?

So after setting up that they have basically zero money, the first thing Aang & company do is go trinket shopping. That's peak teenage behaviour.

"You guys are pirates!" Took you long enough.

All of these pirates have such great designs. I want the lead pirate's hat.

KAtara you DIDN'T.

Cabbage Guy! Hi Cabbage Guy! Unlike in Omashu, that actually is malicious destruction of cabbages.

I think there are three pirates shown here, but I originally thought that the legs high up belonged to the guy in the grey shirt, which would have been bad. They're facing entirely the wrong direction.

A badass line. Too bad about the pose.

Confirmed: a modern Katara would totally be that girl at the mall stealing earrings from Claire's.

Aang says that those pirates were terrible, but they actually weren't until they discovered that their scroll had been stolen. They behaved like merchants until Katara gave them a reason to behave like pirates.

This is going to be an episode where the problems are self-inflicted, isn't it?

No! Stealing a scroll from pirates isn't great! You've already got the fire nation on your tail, and at least they want Aang alive. Now you've got pirates too. You think they have a no killing code?

I am 100% with Sokka on this one. They're going to be at the North Pole in a few weeks anyway. They can both learn all the forms they want to there, with actual living teachers as a bonus.

I was right. Incoming problems of Katara's own making. Also the pirates could tell that Katara was water tribe. Further weight to my theory that the fire nation has a high incidence of colour blindness. Or fashion blindness.

And now we get selfish, jealous Katara as well as thief Katara. Sokka 100% in the right again: she is only interested in teaching herself, to the point where she's happy to endanger herself, her brother, and the goddamn Avatar to get hold of a lesson plan.

Add bitch to jealous, selfish, thief. You made Aang all sniffly. Somehow I think her scroll resolution is not going to stick.

Zuko using his brain again. Good reasoning. And right - they are on the water.

Nooooooooo. You are better than this. Girl stop it!

Zuko pulling out his best panto villain act. Also the colouration of his scar in the night scenes is odd. It's almost lilac.

He's technically right. Zuko did not steal that necklace. Unlike Katara, who does steal things.

Sokka 100% right for the third (fourth?) time this episode. It IS just a matter of time before Katara gets them all into trouble. That time is now.

Do you think if Sokka had kept his mouth shut, they wouldn't have kidnapped him? Was that a pity kidnap?

Yes it completely is her fault! No 'kind of' about it!

Sokka's brain and motormouth saving the day. I feel like that's a running theme.

This fight is cool. Seems like, if you know what you're doing, a bunch of nonbenders can fight firebenders on even footing.

A lot of convenient rope sawing going on.

This is a classic gag but it's funny every time.

Sokka fulfilling his quota of required minimum number of beatings per episode. I swear there must have been a rule in the writers' room that no episode may be considered complete until such time as Sokka has concussion damage.

Also it kind of feels off that Aang & company defeat the pirates so easily while on the pirate ship. They had to run away from them in the market, and these guys go toe to toe with firebenders. Don't you think they would do well when fighting on their own turf?

Is this from Top Gun? I haven't seen Top Gun, but this feels Top Gun-ish.

Second episode in a row that they owe their lives to Appa.

Zuko's "My Boat!" was near-operatic.

I'm calling it: Iroh is deliberately obstructing the hunt for the avatar and deliberately undermining Zuko.

Honestly, reasonable reaction from Zuko. Actually a bit of an under reaction. I would have saved the breathing fire for here.

Did the parrot lizard drown? Last I saw he was stuck in the flag on the mast, and he isn't floating down the river afterwards with the rest of the pirates.

Katara is right to apologise to Aang. But she should have apologised to Sokka too.

Katara finishes off this episode by learning literally the opposite of the lesson she should have learned. The lesson should be: stealing can be justifiable (she does have more claim to that scroll than the pirates do), but not in cases where it endangers yourself or others. The lesson Katara takes is: stealing is wrong, unless it's stealing from literally the most dangerous people you can find.

Final Thoughts

This episode was frustrating. Katara was a colossal idiot, who turned into a selfish thieving idiot, who turned into a self-centred thieving idiot with no sense of self-preservation or concern for her friend's and brother's life, and then she took a hard left into being a bitch as well.

Now, I remember being a teenager. I had my bitch moments too. But when someone rightly called me on them, I stopped. I think Katara's portrayal in this episode is a very realistic depiction of a certain kind of teenage girl. My problem is two-fold: a) I couldn't stand that kind of teenage girl, and b) Katara just keeps going. Sokka calls her out for her behaviour, she keeps going. She freaks out at Aang and makes him all sniffly, she has a two second long attack of conscience and then she keeps going anyway. She gets captured by a combined force of fire nation and pirates, the two biggest threats they've faced so far, and she just keeps going. And the joke that ends the episode shows that she's learned nothing.

I think I've said before (probably when I was talking about imprisoned) that Katara seems like she's used to having Sokka do her thinking and planning for her. I think this episode shows that too. Katar thought of herself, and herself only for 90% of this episode. That's not something Sokka does. I think that, being the only waterbender in the whole south pole, Katara is used to, if not being spoiled, then certainly being the centre of attention. And Sokka is used to looking after her and cleaning up after her plans (the literal cleaning seems to have been Katara's job), which means that he's way more used to thinking of the big picture, and Katara has never had to think beyond herself and her wants and needs. She wants the scroll, she takes it, fully aware that it will get them in trouble (why else was she pushing to get them off the pirate ship so fast? Vibes are off? No Katara, you're off). Sokka's immediate reaction to finding out she took the scroll is to bring up how much danger she has put them ALL in. Sokka sees big picture; Katara sees Katara.

Katara is lucky too that Zuko is apparently the kind of firebender that believes in non violence, and that these pirates are the Disney version. They had her tied to a tree all night and she apparently spent a considerable portion of that time spouting defiance. I'm wondering if Katara knows what genre of story she's in. Or maybe she's just that naive?

I was wondering if they would eventually touch on power/skill imbalances within our main cast, and I'm glad they did. In a way, Sokka has it easier than Katara, because as a non-bender, he's never going to get compared to Aang by himself or others. Plus, he's just not the kind of person who would do that. He's got that weird teenage boy contradictory combination of big ego + low self-esteem, so he's going to talk a big game (see Warriors of Kyoshi) but he's never going to think of himself as being in the same league as Katara. Katara, on the other hand, absolutely would at some point end up in competition with the only other bender she's ever met, even if they bend different elements. I'm glad they touched on it, but if this is the way they touch on it, I'll be very happy if they never touch on it again.

I did not know firebenders could breathe fire. Is the skin in their throat fireproof? And their nose? I bet they have crazy spice tolerance.

Something deeper is going on with Iroh. That goofy old man act is just that - an act. Kind of mean to string Zuko along like that though.

Sokka shines as the voice of reason over and over in this episode. Too bad no one listens to him at any point. Sokka is grounded in a way Aang and Katara aren't. They would be screwed without him.

The self-inflicted nature of this episode's plot is realistic, but annoying. What Katara did this episode is absolutely something an idealistic yet selfish teenage girl with anger issues would do. Especially so when you consider her in context - this may be the first waterbending artifact she's ever seen. But consider: if Katara hadn't stolen from the pirates, the pirates wouldn't have been after them, the pirates wouldn't have discussed a water tribe girl and a bald monk in front of Zuko, who was in such a rush to get back to avatar hunting that he likely wouldn't have asked a ship of pirates if they had seen the Avatar, which means Zuko & crew wouldn't have been after Aang either. Aang & company would have been down one waterbending scroll, but also down not one, but two enemies on their tail. Of course it all worked out in the end; this is a kids' show, but this plot is an entirely self-inflicted (Katara-inflicted) problem. Imprisoned was one of those too, come to think of it.

Aang has a rather lax policy on theft for someone who's supposed to be a mystical peace-bringer.

And I really do want the lead pirate's hat.

Daffodil The Fluffagon / Narcisa La Dragóna De Crin

XD Heeey happy spring everyone! ^-^ Good riddance winter, because I can't wait for summer! >w< Summer is the best season ever ^w^ To celebrate the good weather coming up, I thought now would be the perfect time to show my spring themed character Daffodil the fluffagon! ^-^ This is a remake of an ooold drawing of her, I did like my old lines so I updated them with my new lineart :3 This picture was also a very late chinese new year pic, that's okay UwU I was late for last year's zodiac too. Last year's zodiac was the year of the rabbit, which is me, so back then I made a new oc called Scorpio Bunny, who is based on my two zodiacs :3 I plan to draw her more at some point ^-^ Anywho here she is, the easter fool! ^w^ Daffodil is a fluffagon, also known as a maned dragon due to some fluffagons having manes. Normally Daffy would derp and blep alot, but sometimes she can still do ordinary expressions like this one. She is silly and friendly and was made on Easter Fools day :3 She is named after the spring flower, also cos her name sounds daft, which she is XD Daffodil is a prankster, but she tends to fall for her own pranks XDDD So if clowns scare you, Daffodil is a great alternative to one. One of my main characters Cody is also great for comedy, though he can be very hyper and annoying lol, but Cody and Daffy get along fine ^w^ Fluffagons aka maned dragons are a closed species so please don't make your own D: I'll sell some fluffagon adopts in the future, as for now, adopting a fluffagon is kind of the only way to get one. If you're interested in owning one, please let me know but no oc collectors, I want my adopts to go to good loving homes where the character has at least some development (yes even as a background character) and not sit around collecting dust along with other ocs adopted just to be neglected. I honestly think oc and fursuit collecting is kinda pointless because they never get used. :/ Aaanyway, I hope you like my creations! I work hard and put alot of love and effort into everything I make! ^-^ This is some old fluffagon lineart which I remade and plan to use as my own base for fluffagon characters, like Daffodil for instance :3 I plan to use these lines for other fluffagon ocs aswell as seeing if I can use them for their refs too ^-^

Do you have any coping skills with trich that might help

I’m afraid I’m not sure. It likely heavily depends on what triggers your trich for you individually, but I’ll try to offer a few suggestions. (Though you could say I’m a bit bad at “coping” with it since I freely pull from places that aren’t places that people scold me about, and most distress I’m caused is because of others commenting, not my pulling itself.)

If caused by boredom:

- Try to keep hands occupied by anything. In class? Taking notes, doodling, bringing something to fidget with, getting really acquainted with how the zippers on your jacket feel. If walking around somewhere? Taking in your environment, how things look, how things might feel; asking questions internally, etc.

- Can you afford to daydream at that moment? It’s likely not a good coping skill, but it does keep me occupied sometimes; only issue is that I sometimes autopilot pull during my daydreams, so it likely only helps sometimes/in some situations. 

- Internal companions. I don’t know if it’s a common/good thing to just have internal companions you chat with when you’re bored or restless and want to talk but can’t, talking to them is nice and can distract from the boring situation outside. 

If caused by sensory deficiency:

- Same fidgeting advice as above. Feeling things, everything that’s not hair, finding fascinating textures that can drive your attention in another direction. Running the tongue over teeth with interesting feelings is in the same vein. 

- Do you ever do the thing where you clasp your hands together and squeeze each one one at a time while letting the squeezed hand’s fingers straighten? I know that’s very specific, but human paw pads are lovely in a squishy way, so in situations where I don’t have to be using my hands, doing that can be a nice distraction. 

- If able to, music sometimes. If not able to, if your brain operates as an internal video player, you can watch something, which can sometimes distract. But also, there’s also the autopilot thing, so not sure if that would help.  

If caused by anxiety:

- The fidget cube has one side that’s smooth, calling a soothing stone or something…? But regardless, whether it’s that or something else smooth, rubbing at things both occupies the hands and calms you down can help with this a bit.  

- Hats! I know I talk about my hat a lot, but I really like it. It doesn’t always help me not pull, since I can just pull underneath it, but it reduces my anxiety in public, and since anxiety sometimes triggers my trich, it can reduce pulling that way.

Misc:

- One time, for a week, I collected all the hair I pulled into a jar instead of throwing it away or keeping it scattered. It was… a lot. I don’t remember the result, but if seeing the damage can repel you from repeating it, it could help?

- It’s again not a good coping skill, but sometimes swapping pulling out for other things/habits, but more useful if not in public, probably; I sometimes gnaw at my fingers to stop them from reaching to my head to pull, or rub at my face, or clap, or bite my tongue and hold it in a cat ‘blep’ position. Things that occupy the hands in general. This ties into the sensory stuff, probably.

Anyone else is free to add on of course. Sorry if nothing here is really helpful and has been repeated 500 times with no helpfulness. If you’re a bit more specific with your own trich triggers, I can try to think of other ways.

Dec 24 Dancitron Movie Night - Gotham s2 e4-6

Primus showed up and made things snow. There was general consternation. Primus assured them that the snow wasn’t acidic.

Prowl only vaguely liked that the new police chief in the show was fighting corruption, but he was doing it so badly and introducing so many new bad aspects to the police that he couldn’t really support them.

Soundwave finally let Prowl help clean after the show.

Xylin Lair Review

Okay, very first impression: vaporwave. That simple little sunset is super cute, and really sets the atmosphere of your clan! Nice that you collect angles and demons, that’s super interesting. Makes me wonder if there’s more lore there? If there is I would Totally add the reason why in the clan bio. 

Your first page of dragons is ART. Instantly my eyes were immediately drawn to Puck, Sachiel, Hadriel, Irritum, and Cresil. They’re so pretty, I can tell a lot of love went into them and it’s nice. The first I wanted to click on was Axia, so that’s where I went. 

Axia

She is frankly fantastic. I get an underworld vibe from her, like she’s an alchemist that works with possibly illegal substances and color changing brews. Wonderful color pallet, and I love how subtly her skin blends in with her, that one is a fav of mine. The tiny bit of sparkle on the end of the blep is just perfect. 

Puck

I wonder how many vials you had to go through to get those faceted eyes?  Damn did you dress him well. I would have never guessed that lead would look so beautiful? It looks like the apparel was made to be worn by him as well?? He’s just so aesthetic... I’m in love.  Okay I just scryed him rly quick so I could see what he looks like under everything and he’s so simple? yet that cyan lace pops very beautifully. Good job on this one, he’s a keeper and then some

Irritum

Those sylvan wings over the bee gene? stunning. stunning. it has me Very shook, I love it. He looks like he could show up and take me on adventure at midnight, and it would be the best journey of my life. Pretty lore template, it would be even prettier if there was anything there ;D

Amriel

Is there a theme here? If there is one I can’t quite see it.  One thing that I really love is how many of your dragons have cobwebs, it’s a nice subtle garment that suits most any dragon well. 

Belial

I Love This Dragon. I usually am not very into fire reps, but he’s just so pretty!!! He looks lively and fun while being all dark purple, and there’s a lot of character to him. The fire thorns skin is really nice and again, spectacular choice.  Why Aint You Using Those Nice Lore Templates? They’re so chic and fun, and you’ve found a bunch that suit your individual characters. What’s stopping you?? Even if it’s just a single line or three, adding more than the Lorem ipsum gives life to your babies. Let other people know your ideas about them!!

Your lair has a lot of personality and is very fun to go through, the only real critique I have is that you arent using your bios for real lore! Liven it up a bit :D

Summary: It feels like the spiritual successor to ME1 (in terms of the positives AND the faults) 

But beyond that, I’m gonna just add little thoughts of my own that maybe other people haven’t touched on. Mostly just thoights going through my head as I play.

0. Ok first of all, WHY CAN’T I SAVE???????

I have literally been playing this planetside/Nexus mission for close to 2 hours and NOT ONCE have I been able to actually MANUALLY save the game....what the fuck Bioware?????? 

I’m sorry, but I don’t like the idea of Bioware choosing when I should save, especially when I save for strategic reasons (i.e. right before a cutscene for vids and screenshots, or right before a major decision, or finishing a major questline).

This is a huge deal. I shouldn’t have to keep playing hoping to find a good point when YOU’LL decide to autosave for me. I’m an adult, sometimes I gotta turn off the game and get back to real life.

Y’all better fix this for the official launch, Bioware. This is a HUGE issue.

1. Liam was a joy from intro to the Nexus (which is as far as I’ve gotten). He’s full of wit and heart in equal measure. I really can’t wait to kiss him. Planetside, the dialogue was fantastic, it was a joy to explore while he was talking - and he talked a lot. 

Cora’s far more reserved and professional but she has her shining moments. I got a Miranda vibe from her. I don’t like that - not because I don’t like Miranda, but because I don’t like the idea of someone more qualified than me having the stronger role. Maybe it’d feel less weird if she felt more like a protege - like myself, and less like she could kick my ass back to the Milky Way. She’s already been forged. I would prefer companions that need cooking like myself in this case. 

2. The scanner is a pretty fun tool, but I could easily see it becoming a crutch. The first planetside mission did a decent job of balancing scanning with figuring stuff out on your own - I’m worried there might be quite a few side missions where it’s pretty much “scan to solve”. Seeing other playthroughs farther in i.e. Eos - especially before Peebee’s intro confirms my fear of what could happen.

3. The narrative is shaky so far. There were periods where it wasn’t going anywhere, then everything hits you at once. I think the story needs time to find its legs.

4. I don’t like SAM. I’m sorry, I just don’t. He’s a useful tool, but I’m not digging this “linked to an AI without my consent”. Even if it was to save my life.

------ 4a. I also assume SAM is the reason Cora’s not the Pathfinder even though she’s more qualified. It’s a weak justification tho.

5. I really get the impression I’m a wide-eyed recruit being thrust into the spotlight where I’m not qualified or even eager. Giving me DA:I flashbacks. And it also REALLY makes me believe I should not have been qualified for the Pathfinder team. I’m a newb surrounded by experts.

------5a. I also speak of experiences like dealing with Prothean artifacts. I would have preferred a bit more customization in that regard - a chance to CHOOSE how to respond when Liam asks me questions about my background. I don’t wanna make comparisons to DA:I - they are an entirely different team, but surely if the ME teams can borrow DA writers, they can also take some of the good DA concepts

6. I haven’t really had the chance to be an ass. Or to be angry. Ryder isn’t really my character, and I don’t feel any ownership of her the same way I felt I truly owned my other characters. This might be a side effect of the narrative and personal preference. Unlike most, I prefer vague backstories i.e. the Inquisitor. Maybe this will change over time.

7. Yes, there’s some goofy animations. Look, I like giving Bioware shit for it but at the end of the day, I don’t care. It’s funny. It makes for good reaction images. It’s A+ meme material - you think tumblr would be more forgiving for the memeing potential alone.

It just wouldn’t be Bioware without janky animations - I mean, y’all collectively find game breaking bugs in Bethesda endearing instead of aggravating to no end and absolutely unacceptable for a AAA gaming developer with million dollar budgets, so let Bioware have one “fuck-up” thing. 

------ 7a. But I’m gonna be honest. With a non-default Ryder. most of the animations look....fine. There’s some blep moments but for the most part, the game (and the people) are gorgeous. I also did really appreciate seeing a teeny bit more diversity in skin tones and features - in the presets AND the characters. There can always be more, ofc. But my incredibly low expectations have been surpassed....for the moment. 

8. The opening narration really sold the “spiritual successor” feel. Narration as stirring, the music was moving, the cinematography excellent - I have actually recorded and replayed the scene just to feel that lil burst of excitement and wonder I felt when I opened the game. I just hope the story catches up....I don’t want the opening credits to be the most exciting thing in the game.

9. Bioware still hasn’t learned that you don’t necessarily have to kill people off to move the story forward but whatever.

10. If Bioware can make me a custom mother for a picture in the Codex, they ALSO could’ve potentially brought her with us. A minor pet peeve but something that bothered me nonetheless. 

11. I am SO tired of these white names. It’s not as much of a slap in the face as FO4 where the best I got for MENA names was Aaliyah and Muhammad but we got 5 variations of Fuck and Ass, but really? Scott??? Just one more thing showing that Ryder isn’t REALLY my character in the traditional RP sense.

12. This CC is INCREDIBLY disappointing. I’m 100 percent sure there’s already 50 Ryders that look like mine. I am satisfied enough with her appearance, but I’m really frustrated that I was stuck with the features of whatever preset I chose. When they mentioned DA:I, that was the CC I EXPECTED. What I got was laughable in comparison. However, I can take some heart in seeing presets that weren’t white people.

 Also, one half-assed afro and pathetic excuse for cornrows is flat-out OFFENSIVE. Bioware has not listened in 5 years. Black people shouldn’t “wait for a patch” to make their own Ryders. 

In conclusion: an enjoyable game with a great cast, a lot of great, well-written (and well voiced dialogue) with combat that’s SUPER fun. I need to look for my controller adapter, because the UI is so clunky, I STILL haven’t gotten used to the controls. 

However, this, for me, is not a 60 dollar game, so far. I won’t be hurting if I wait a few months for the price to drop. And I will wait for the price to (inevitably) drop before I buy it.
