Fate request: For the Lols, how would Saber Arturia react to meeting Morderd's kid, and that kid calling her "Grandfather" or "Grandpa", even when told not to?
I know that this was meant to be a funny one, but my mind kind of took it and ran so it came out a bit angstier than I intended.
Tumblr media
Artoria gazed at the small child in front of her with a mixture of confusion, shock, and an odd feeling of shame and regret in her chest.
“Sorry to impose on you like this Miss Artoria, Gareth was indisposed, and Bedivere was still at work and-” you began to explain as you set about getting ready to leave before being interrupted by Artoria speaking.
“It is fine, and please, just Artoria. I know that convincing Mordred to bring the little one here was a tough decision so let us just leave it at that.”
“Thank you Artoria, I’ll be back as soon as I can!” you exclaimed as you opened the door and walked out, leaving the pair alone with one another.
The child gazed into Artoria’s eyes.
They were filled with curiosity, and then, the child spoke.
“Grandpa?”
Shock shot across Artoria’s face before she reclaimed control of her countenance before speaking.
“No, I am Artoria.”
“Grandpa!” The child happily exclaimed
“No, Artoria.” the king declared.
“*Laughs* Grandpa!” The child laughed joyously while clapping.
Artoria sighed before speaking, “We’ll have to work on it.”
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
As the day passed, Artoria continually tried and failed to get the child to call her by her name.
All the child wanted to do was play with her hair and say “Grandpa hair silly!”
Artoria had to admit, it was… nice.
Nice to not be… the king.
She was just “Grandpa” to this child…
It… was…
“Grandpa? Why you cry?” the child asked, concerned for Artoria’s sudden change in demeanor, and the tears that were suddenly flowing down her face.
“*sniff* Don’t worry little one. Grandpa is fine.” Artoria told her grandchild with a smile.

Mordred has a mom, two dads, and five uncles (two of whom are most likely dating Merlin) [it's Gwaine and Lance], along with two High Prietess aunts (Morgana and Morgause are good and Merlin blessed Morgans with the title and knowledge) and two siblings (Daegal and Aithusa). Gaius is great uncle/grandfather and Uther is Merlin-dedicated kind to Morderd before he knows he's a druid because Mordred often trails one of his parents throughout the day being exceptionally helpful and has been known to help Merlin nag after Arthur plus it doesn't hurt that Mordred is good with a sword (Uther visited training in secret and saw him off to the side as if hiding to practice by his pre-teen self)

Arthur and Mordred friendship is very underutilized in fics. I’m not surprised half the fandom hates him for killing Arthur and the other half want to see Merlin and morderd have a good relationship but still. Their few episodes of friendship were adorable and it makes me sad people don’t write it into fics.

Arthur pendragon king of chaos x Guinevere!reader with Mordred!daughter reader. Like Guinevere not being able to give Arthur a heir naturally so she uses magic to make one for the two of them.
4kota My Beloved
Arthur Pendragon/King of Chaos X Guinevere! Reader and Morderd! Daughter! Reader
Genre: Headcanons
Reader: both females
Warnings: spoilers from the manga, Some yandere behaviors from Arthur but he's a whole warning at this point, Fluff.
• The issue of children was something present at the beginning of the marriage between the rulers of Camelot. They both knew they wanted to start a family together, but they didn't know exactly when.
• They had their opinions on the matter, Arthur was excited by the idea of having as many children as his wife would be willing to give him, seeing it as the last great sign of his love. Raise a great little person together.
• Guinevere, on the other hand, was more reserved, even if she liked the idea of children, she definitely wanted a smaller family, either way, she was happy to start a family with Arthur.
• However…many things got in the couple's way before they got a happy ending. Wars, disagreements, separations.
• Fortunately, these were also instances that most strongly demonstrated the mutual love they had for each other.
• It had been a few years since the queen's return to Camelot, and things felt a lot less tense because of it.
• Arthur and Guinevere had managed to put aside their differences and get back together, after all, it was difficult to live without each other. They couldn't.
• Life in the kingdom of chaos made sense again for Arthur, having Guinevere nearby took a great weight off his chest, he felt complete again.
• The same could be said for Guinevere, even so, she loved her husband, and was happy to return to this type of domestic life.
• The first few years were quiet, Arthur even momentarily put his plans against Britain aside so he could properly make up for lost time with his wife.
• And precisely around that time, a certain idea arose again.
• What if they tried to have children?
• Obviously it was a big decision, and Arthur would be willing to give in if his wife was uncomfortable with the idea; at the end of the day, they were no longer the same young people they were when they got married, opinions can change.
• However, Arthur was positively surprised when Guinevere accepted!
• This was something they had both wanted for a long time, at least now they had the opportunity to make it a reality and give their son (or daughter) a loving and safe home. So why not take advantage of it?
• And that's what they did, they tried to have children for several months, without success.
• Arthur was beginning to suspect that perhaps chaos magic was affecting his chances of having children, but Guinevere was not giving up on the idea of creating her own family… creating…
• that is!
• Guinevere, before all, was a person close to magic, so she learned certain arts… taboo in her time as a fugitive. It's not like that matters now. It was just this once.
• Obviously this took some convincing on Arthur's part to get him to agree, but he eventually did (after all, it would be much more unstable if it were done with chaos magic, this was safer).
• After having all the materials needed to get started (brought by Arthur's knights) and what she needed from both herself and her husband, Guinevere settled into her study for what seemed like an eternity.
• Arthur was pacing back and forth in the hallway that led to the study, giving death glares to any chaos knights who came that way, and trying to stay calm.
• Of course, until he heard it. A cry
• Coming from a baby.
• When Guinevere finally emerged from her study, she had a bundle wrapped in a makeshift blanket. Which she cooed softly as she motioned for Arthur to come closer.
• Arthur did so without hesitation, and leaned in to meet his new daughter. A beautiful creature.
• She had inherited a lot from her mother, her hair and skin tone, but when she slowly opened one of her small eyes, a bright violet could be seen. She was beautiful.
• their beautiful little Mordred.
• Mordred was an unusual baby, they knew that of course, but that fact extended even beyond what her “birth” was like.
• she had the same hyperactivity as her father when he was young, she really liked to play hide and seek from both her caregiver and her parents. Arthur lost count of how many times he found her, somehow, climbing on one of the castle's decorations.
• It also seemed that Mordred did not have the same limits or needs as a normal girl, which was to be expected, things like eating things that were not food or walking on the walls and ceiling seemed very easy and normal to her.
• Besides that, Mordred was actually just like any other girl her age, and it showed as she grew older, she learned to talk normally, walk normally, and filled the palace with a different kind of noise.
• Laughter, joy, games, pranks, a new level of activity that brought life to the palace in a surprising way. It didn't seem like such a depressing place anymore. It felt like home.
• Arthur is definitely the most overprotective father, not only because of what the kingdom of chaos is like, but because of his bad experiences in general. He is also a great pamperer, whatever his daughter wants, he will have (although this eases as she gets older).
• Guinevere is the chill mother, she wants Mordred to learn on her own, but she is definitely a tender and patient mother, who gently guides her baby.
• The more Mordred grew, the more her curiosity grew, her longing for the “perfect” world her father speaks of.
• She also began to enjoy her mother's teachings about magic, it turned out that Mordred was almost as gifted in it as her. However, what she absorbed most from these lessons were her mother's life lessons.
• That's what made Mordred start to question things.
• Mordred was already old enough, being now mature, she began to think about the scenarios where her father's plan for his “eternal kingdom” was executed, but it left her with more doubts than answers.
• Even when she tried to talk about it with her father, Arthur would just repeat the same thing, that it wasn't time, that he would understand one day, that it was for the greater good. It got to the point where these talks escalated into fights at the table, which ended with her mother intervening or with her being punished without going outside for a while.
• Arthur loved his daughter, he really did, but he couldn't let her find out what Camelot's plan was, he didn't want to have to see that. This was the best, for everyone.
• Guinevere, even if she did not share her husband's ideas, did not think it was a good idea for Mordred to try to challenge him. Although she would support her in everything, she also understood Arthur's intentions.
• Everything got worse when the prophecy of the knights of the Apocalypse came out. Mordred could feel the tension, her father was planning to do something horrible, she had to do something. No matter how much it broke her heart to do so.
• Leaving Camelot was an almost impossible task, but with a… mysterious help, Mordred managed to cross the door of what was the eternal kingdom, and begin her own adventure in the outside world, for the good of Britain.
• Although of course, it is not going to be easy, as soon as Arthur realizes that his only daughter is missing, he will be on her heels to get her to return home (just as he did with her mother), but Mordred would not give up until she achieved her goal.
• Arthur was obviously enraged and worried! What was their daughter thinking when she just left like that?! Does she have any idea how many people will want to harm her just because she is the daughter of the king and queen of Camelot?! HE WILL CUT OFF THE HEADS OF HER KNIGHTS FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO STOP HER FROM DOING SOMETHING SO IRRESPONSIBLE!
• In general, mother hen mode more than anything. He doesn't even realize why his daughter ran away in the first place.
• Guinevere is much more reserved (because she doesn't want to reveal the fact that she helped her daughter escape), but the truth is that she understands her reasons for wanting to get away. Still, she is worried about not having her baby with her. A very small part of herself hopes that they at least have reports of where she is.
• Until then, she is content with trying to appease Arthur, while they wait for their little daughter's return.
• Hopefully it will be soon. Until then, travel safely Mordred!

No really that man is insane. 30 seconds of struggling and decided the arm had to go.
Realistically the arm would’ve been lost if Morderd didn’t come any way so he just decided to speed up the process.

What about Arthur doing the same thing to Lot, only worse because Lot unknowingly raises his child? That's ok I guess?
For a moment I thought that by "Lot" you mean "Lancelot" and I was like: "Wait, what?" But then I remembered who Lot is and I realized what were you talking about.
Well, the situation with Morderd is all around fucked up. Arthur sleeping with Morgause is just a tip of the iceberg and he doesn't even know how much worse it gets, because he's not aware that Morgause is his stepsister and that Mordred is his son.
Anyway, I didn't know that Lancelot have stans. Personally I found this whole situation with love triangle the most tedious part of Arthurian legends and their adaptations (partly because I don't like most of the love subplots and partly because I felt sorry for Arthur), and only recently I've read a source material where this whole story with Lot was introduced (I knew the versions where Mordred was Morgana's son and in some cases - also Arthur's).
Look, if it makes you feel any better, there is a version of Lancelot that I really like, and it's the version from BBC Merlin. I know, I know, this show plays fast and loose with historical accuracy and how faithful it is to Arthurian legends, but their Lancelot is a sweet guy and the love triangle is almost non-existent.

Merlin was standing. He had the vague feeling that he’d bypassed his legs entirely and simply ordered the land to be beneath his feet, and it had obeyed. There was a faint tremble in the blood-soaked mud as he stepped forward and reache out with one hand. The wheel was large, but his hand had never looked so long before. He seized the shimmering curve with one hand.
It stopped.
Slowly, painstakingly, he turned the wheel back until Arthur was safely back in his own chest. He blinked at the flickering light that was Mordred as it too rose from the dirt, still caught on the curve of fate. The corpse gasped, blinked wildly– Confused, no doubt, by the proximity of it’s soul.
Merlin tilted his head, turned the wheel back a bit more, brought Mordred fully back to life with a strangled scream. It took a while for the prone man to adjust to being alive again, his mouth flapped open and closed as he looked around, eyes wheeling in his skull. Merlin gave him all the time he needed– after all, what was time? He reached out with his other hand to hold Arthur, the warm glow of his soul was a comforting warmth on Merlin’s cold skin. When had he become so cold?
Finally, Morderd settled into his skin. “You made a mistake, Mordred.” Merlin told him, very gently. There was no reason to be harsh. The other man turned to look at him, and his face was very pale. “Merlin– you can’t be–”
“I can be anything.” Merlin interrupted, annoyed, “but I will not be without him, Mordred. You tried to take my king from me. You should not have done that.”
He crushed out the light, slowly. It was gratifying, to hear Mordred scream as he was erased. It left a little void behind, a small unnatural gap in the universe where the one who had tried to kill Merlin’s king once had been.
It was good, that little divot. A small reminder to others of the consequences of trying to steal from Merlin.
Around him no one was moving. Well, of course not, he realized after a moment– he’d stopped them hadn’t he? He pulled his hand slowly out of Arthur, carefully, and when he was done there was no wound on his chest, only a smooth pale mark, not quite a scar, where he had been. When he was sure Arthur was whole. He let go of the wheel.
It wobbled, tipped, then fell on its side, silently.

✒: Morderd knows full well when her lover stairs at her ass when she wears shorts. She just so happens to forget about it sometimes.
Send me “✒  + a headcanon “  and I’ll tell you if I approve it or not
Tumblr media
Reason: Mordred may be aware of people staring, but she doesn't really care that much. This assumes she has a lover when she's extremely hesitant to have one.

Everything that happened in the last episode of Merlin drives me insane but you know what really does.
why Arthur didn’t see morderd coming.
Arthur pendragon was fighting for his life in a war but he turns around and sees a knight dying on the floor so while all the other knights continue on he comforts him and his last moments.
Him and his big heart got himself killed because if he just kept going he might have seen morderd coming and had more time to process it so he wouldn’t have gone into shock. Hell he might have missed him all together because Arthur was alone by the time morderd got to him and no one found him before Merlin so I can only assume the knights were a fair bit away from where Arthur was. And Merlin doesn’t take long to find Arthur so maybe they could have ran into each other on time and Arthur would have lived.
