Morally grey??
No, morally black.
Make me question why he isn't in prison or a psych ward.
Make me question why he's attractive.
There should be no redemption.
Let him make me worse.
If I don't have to hesitate and say "hear me out..." its not worth it.

do you ever read a book, look at the mmc and go “raw. next question.”? because holy FUCK. that’s how this man makes me feel
Tumblr media
this book is an age gap thriller romance with a serial killer and my two favourite fictional characteristics; obsession and revenge
look under the cut for the blurb
𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐡
Imagine my surprise when the chance to interview the country’s most notorious man on death row lands on my table. His final confession. It’s too good of an opportunity to turn down.
Robbie Hammond is old enough to be my father, a man condemned for the murder of at least fourteen women. He is dangerous, deadly. Intense in ways I can’t explain. Yet, despite the red flags, his magnetism draws me to him. I’m powerless to fight it.
𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐛𝐢𝐞
Not everything is as it appears. The moment Savannah set foot in here, she shivered like a leaf in the wind, barely able to hold eye contact without a blush creeping up her neck.
I can’t take my eyes off her. It’s no mistake she’s here, watching me from across the table.
There’s a reason I only agreed to talk to Savannah Campbell before they put me down—why it has to be her.
Beneath the quivering smile hides a darkness I recognize.
A darkness that sparks my interest.
But the question is: 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒅𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒊𝒕 𝒓𝒖𝒏?

"wyll's too nice i'd like him more if he were a little meaner and angrier" you guys couldn't handle vivienne de fer having a complicated relationship with the oppressive system she was raised in. you couldn't handle liam costa making a minor but well-intentioned mistake. you couldn't handle preston garvey having a recurring fetch quest.
you couldn't even handle early access wyll who was angrier and grappled with moral quandaries more. and you can't handle wyll as he is now when he playfully teases astarion.

Canon Facts about Regulus Black
**With sources**
Biographical Info: Regulus Arcturus Black, 1961-1979, male, wizard. (OOTP, Ch. 24). Deceased and childless (HBP, Ch. 3).
Personality: Regulus had a sign on his bedroom door, “Do not enter without the express permission of Regulus Arcturus Black,” kept his door locked, and decorated his room with Slytherin’s house colours. The Black family crest was painted over his bed with the motto, “Toujours Pur” beneath it (DH, Ch. 10). He is described as “a fan” “proud, happy to serve” Voldemort, “proper” with the “dignity of his pure blood,” “haughty,” “brave,” “kind” to Kreacher, “trying to protect” his family, (DH, Ch. 10) “stupid idiot” for becoming a Death Eater, a “much better son,” “soft enough to believe” his parents, and “panicked” (OOTP, Ch. 24).
Was Regulus Black a pureblood? Yes, he was the youngest son of Walburga & Orion Black, younger brother to Sirius Black. The Black family were purebloods (OOTP, Ch 24).
Did Regulus attend Hogwarts? Yes, Slughorn says he was sorted into Slytherin (HBP, Ch. 6) and he played quidditch as Slytherin’s Seeker (DH, Ch. 6).
Was Regulus a pureblood supremacist? Yes. He was raised with the belief that pureblood wizards were superior to all others. Sirius says his parents had “pure-blood mania” and Regulus was “soft enough to believe them” (OOTP, Ch 24).
Did Regulus support Voldemort? Yes. According to Kreacher, Regulus talked about Voldemort’s plan to “bring wizards out of hiding to rule the muggles and the muggle-borns” and joined the Death Eaters at 16 years old (DH, Ch. 10). Hermione found old newspaper clippings about Voldemort pinned to Regulus’s wall (DH, Ch. 6).
What was asked of Regulus as a Death Eater? The only task we know Regulus did as a Death Eater was to volunteer Kreacher when Voldemort said he needed an elf, one year after he joined, believing it was “an honour for him and for Kreacher,” but insisting Kreacher “come home” afterwards (DH, Ch. 10).
What changed? Kreacher told Regulus what Voldemort forced him to do in the cave and how Voldemort left him behind to die in the water, which really upsets Regulus (DH, Ch. 10).
Did Regulus care about house-elves? Yes. Kreacher said “Master Regulus always liked Kreacher,” was “very, very concerned” when he came back poisoned, and drank the potion himself in the cave rather than give it to Kreacher a second time (DH, Ch. 10). In addition, part of Kreacher’s battle cry at the Battle of Hogwarts is “fight the Dark Lord, in the name of brave Regulus!” (DH, Ch. 36).
How did he defect? Sirius found out after his brother’s death that Regulus “panicked” and attempted to quit the Death Eaters when he discovered what he was expected to do, but couldn’t because “it’s a lifetime of service or death” (OOTP, Ch. 24). This implies Regulus didn’t know it was a lifetime commitment or that he would be expected to hurt people. We don’t know exactly at what point this panic happened, but Remus said that Regulus was killed a few days after his defection (HBP, Ch 6).
When Kreacher returned from his trip with Voldemort, Regulus ordered him to stay in hiding, then left. He returned “strange, not as he usually was, disturbed in his mind” (DH, Ch. 10). Shortly afterwards, he tells Kreacher to take him back to the cave. Regulus orders Kreacher to swap the necklaces, destroy the original, leave without him, and never tell his family what he’s done. He then drinks the potion himself and experiencing the psychological torture, before he is dragged into the lake by the inferi (DH, Ch. 10). His note to Voldemort shows that he is prepared to die in this endeavour in hopes someone else can finish what he started.
Why did he defect? In his letter to Voldemort, Regulus states his purpose is to make Voldemort vulnerable to death, so that when he “meets his match,” he will be mortal and able to be killed (HBP, Ch. 28). Kreacher’s abuse at Voldemort’s hands seems to be a trigger, but we do not know exactly what happened or how much time transpired between Kreacher’s return from the cave and Regulus’s appearing “disturbed in the mind” sometime later (DH, Ch. 10). Based on the fact that Regulus’s letter mentions the “horcrux” by name and he knows what it does, his claim that “it was I who discovered your secret” implies he researched horcruxes by himself and his reaction was horror at what he learned (HBP, Ch. 28).

I just saw a review of 19 that said that it was bad because it sympathizes with fascist. It was certainly a take any thought.
Dehumanization is a hell of a drug.

Sketches/refs for the “Warning” comic.
Read it here!
I had so much fun designing the robber kids and accidentally got attached to them and I can’t ever help myself when it comes to character creation, so if any of you stick around long enough, you’ll most definitely be seeing them again in some original project. I’ve already given them a good chunk of lore!

‘the black bastard of the wall’ moniker is the exact opposite of the ‘white wolf’ moniker and this perfectly highlights the irreconcilable differences between book Jon and show Jon
#‘white wolf’ highlights his stark heritage parallels him to robb and tries to align him with perfect moral goodness#‘the black bastard of the wall’ is only about jon. it has nothing to do with his stark heritage nor ghost. it’s only about jon#it’s literally white vs black#stark/winterfell/moral goodness vs bastard (targaryen bastard to be specific)/the wall/moral greyness and the duality of it all#he’s already a snow and he’s surrounded by white up north with a white direwolf so being the black bastard and dressing all in black#is perfect imagery of the duality theme in jon’s storyline#d&d rly wanted their jon to always stand in robb’s shadow 🙄#while book jon has an international reputation while still stuck at the wall#my boy is stuck in westerosi alaska and he’s got ppl across the sea yapping about him for pastime#that’s fame baby#asoiaf#a song of ice and fire#GOT critical#jon snow#book jon snow#and i wanna know what other monikers george plans to give jon#while i wouldn’t be that suprised if the ‘white wolf’ did come from george it’s the way it’s jon’s only moniker in GOT that pisses me off#‘the black bastard of the wall’ supremacy#the white wolf seems kinda lame in comparison but say jon gets it if his hair turns white like some theorize#if that happens then i’ll like it more cause it’ll be about jon!#like… the young wolf is about robb. not grey wind. the starks are compared to wolves and robb is a young king and he just so happens to have#a direwolf. in the show jon’s ‘white wolf’ moniker is honestly more about ghost than jon! and that’s ughhh#but robb had the wolf moniker first so it feels once again like the showrunners were placing jon in robb’s shadow#UGHHH I HATE THE SHOW AND HOW IT RUINED THE WAY SO MANY PPL VIEW THE CHARACTERS#let jon be the black bastard !!#his color was always black and the wall is his !!#put some respect on his name and his badass moniker#i don’t want to see anymore shit about the white wolf cause that’s only d&d’s shit invention at this point#valyrianscrolls

Hearing people say "if you like OFMD you should watch black sails!" or "if you like wwdits you should watch Interview With The Vampire!"
It's like babes those shows are nothing alike besides they have the same subject matter and are both gay! "Oh you like comedy with a dash of drama? You should watch a harrowing, traumatic show that will have you sobbing your eyes out!!!!"

If your 'tboy swag/transmasc-coded character lineups' don't include any black men, then it dosen't count as trans male representation shnookums🩷Invest less in trying to make incest and grooming look like the ftm experience and more in including niggas in your content as something other than villains

Why is Jude Duarte the perfect morally grey character…
- Her parents were brutally slaughtered at a young age, and while hating Madoc, she also had a soft spot for her “father.” Since she was small, this man raised her and taught her everything she knew. Of course she had memories from her own parents, and could never forgive Madoc for what he did, but she also saw the fatherly side of him and appreciated it. Jude Duarte was created in a morally grey environment.
- Jude Duarte will do anything for her power/pride, even if it means risking everything and everyone she has. She could have easily brushed off petty insults and kept temper during her brutal bullying/harassment she was going through, like Taryn and the rest of her family insisted, but Jude never let it slide. Even if it was simple revenge that might earn her a dip into a creek, Jude always stood her ground. Later into the series, we see her completely and utterly invested with the little power she gains and how she uses it. There are considerable more risks with every power move she makes, especially everything concerned with the crown. Her family is usually an afterthought, and rarely an emotional case. Even with Oak, Jude is more concerned about the use of power and where she stands, then she is for his safe-being. Not to mention the time Jude almost killed Taryn in a squabble over Locke, which in its entirely mocked Jude and what control she had over someone close to Cardan. Jude loves her family, and will protect them, but not unless it suits her in some way.
- Everyone/anyone is her enemy… no matter how much she “trusts’ them. We see it with her relationship with Taryn, where Jude cares for her sister, but never really trusts her. Even with Cardan, while Jude was infatuated with him, she never once trusted him. All of her friends and family becomes pawns in her power game, and she will always back up herself first. This was taught to her by Madoc, who put battle/power first above his own important people and morals. Cardan was a known enemy to Jude, but he showed her a vulnerability/empathy that she showed no one else. Instead of being emotional and falling for him harder, Jude convinced herself it was an act and to use it to her advantage. Most people wouldn’t shackle a boy that was being beat by his own brother, trick him into having a crown he did NOT want to have, AND witnessed his whole family being slaughter in front of him… Jude didn’t care, she wanted the crown and her revenge.
Nonetheless, Jude has a side of her that is very protective and loves harder than the average person. Her strength and determination could be used for something more than her own gain, and she shows she is capable of that later into the series. We understand why Jude acts the way she does because we witness the pain of her character first hand. Who wouldn’t want revenge against the very people that hate her for her existence? Being human means your weak, can be controlled… a creature owned by the fae. Love was wired to be thought of as a weakness, something to make you lose the battle. In this series, we see her struggle with the choices of to love, or gain more power.
I think Holly Black made an AMAZING female lead that wasn’t written for love, but for feminine rage and power. Love didn’t stop her from gaining what she needed, what her goals were, and instead make her stronger. Jude fought most of her battles alone and failed, but got up regardless. Cardan wasn’t her knight in shining armor, it was quite the opposite. And let’s just say, the best series I’ve read so far.

Unpopular Harry Potter opinions:
"James Potter and the Marauders severely bullied Snape" and "Snape taking that pain out on Harry was ugly and inappropriate" are statements that can and should coexist.
"Publicly exposing someone and mocking him is not a funny prank" and "calling your best friend a slur is wrong even under stress" are statements that can and should coexist.
And, finally, "[Character] did something genuinely wrong and would face consequences for it in a just world" and "[Character] ultimately chose to do the right thing and should be recognised for that" are statements that can and should coexist. (James, Severus, and Sirius are the ones I had in mind as potential names to substitute for [Character] but really that could fit a lot of people.)
