Ive actually been trying so hard at trying to figure out why people think qphil doesnât care about qtubbo, and I mean specifically care nothing else. Cause you can argue tubboâs not one of his most important people thatâs fair, but also you donât have to be at the top of a list for them to care. Itâd also be really hard to argue that he doesnât trust tubbo, and in that same vein not respect him at all. Their relationship is very complicated, and it is true that itâs way more onesided than people like to admit, but itâs not like Phil has just shown Tubbo zero attention or love. My best guess so far from all Iâve seen itâs because Phil fundamentally doesnât understand who Tubbo is as a person, and has this very shallow view of him. So people have taken Philâs mischaracterization of Tubbo as a sign that he doesnât actually care for the real Tubbo? Idk I like to figure out how fandoms think⊠(oh also if you have your own ideas why just like tell me Iâd love to know)
#I need a deeper reason then they just think Phil doesnât trust tubbo its something internal#Because care doesnât equal trust so even if it was that people wouldnât go straight for that conclusion#Btw to me Phil does care for Tubbo he just doesnât get Tubbo so he thinks Tubbo already understands that#For example him thinking tubbo has an ego when tubbo has very clear self esteem issues#Which is something most incudling his not very close friends have picked up on#He ignores the obvious about tubbo that break his idea of him#because to him he already knows tubbo so theres no need to seek out a greater understanding#Which is something I think is starting to break more recently if youll allow me to rant#Qsmp#In purgatory Tubbo did not change in any serious moral way and it was unlikely he would even looking at it before hand but phil was so sure#He did from the get go. The idea that tubbo could change so drastically is a heavy misunderstanding of who tubbo is ecause of that I think#Phils starting to realize his idea of Tubbo is off itâs not alligned to the actual person#Qsmp phil#Qsmp tubbo#But phil has bigger things to worry about right now so thats taking the back burner he can worry about the purple stuff only he can see

i have been waiting for boston to fuck chueam's brother and it is so tasty now that she kind of put him in her corner again. this is going to be such a mess. i didn't even yell "boston, no!" at my screen because i knew there was nothing going to stop him
#only friends the series#only friends#gods....nick's senior is also a creep...however...there was a daddy in boston's phone so the chances are very high that boston has had sex#with him which will bring them together at some points although i don't know to which capacity#atm i wouldn't like it if the senior turns out to be a worse guy (eh already is based on the preview) and boston comes in to 'save' nick#but i believe boston will protect nick in that regard#boston after all has a moral (?) compass - just one that usually doesn't allign with any of his friends#like: i will fuck your man but really i am just showing you who he is and since you didn't actually know him your relationship really isn#t worth enough to consider this a transgression against you as my friend#and sure i know you wouldn't want me to have sex with your little brother because you know the type of guy i am but have you considered tha#it is not your business whether he wants me#but let boston meet someone who he thinks does underhanded shit and he will fuck them up even if it looks on paper as if he's doing the sam#shit#so far the unsorted thoughts on bostonnick

i dont like the take that zutara is the like 'sexual' ship or something. not only bc im really uncomfortable with thinking that any relationship with teens is 'sexual' on screen - i really don't want to think about teenage characters in a kids show as sexual - but also because i feel like this perception of katara feels very madonna-whoreish
with a@ng, katara is the madonna, she needs to be perfect and pure. she can do no wrong and is held to an unrealistic standard that puts her under a lot of pressure. this results in katara's canonical traits and moments that don't fit this narrative being seen as monstrous, or even ooc. the problems with the madonna are the fact that by viewing katara like this, you won't ever see her as a character fully. she revolves around this idea of what she is to a@ng, and anything that strays from it is 'morally wrong' (it's not.)
according to antis, with zuko, katara is the whore. zutara explores a darker 'more sexual' side of katara that is connected to the canon moments that don't allign with a@ng. they are able to push all of the things they don't like about katara (and women) onto this ship of her with someone who is not a@ng. to them, katara's proximity to aang is what makes her the madonna, but with zuko, she is everything that they hate about her.
in all actuality, there is nothing inherently sexual about zutara. they don't have any moments that could even hint to sex when other couples in the show do. zutara is seen as sexual, not because there's anything actually sexual about the ship, but because they see katara without a@ng as a whore (not actually saying they call her a whore.) they feel more free to hate on her and allow themselves to call it sexual as a way to justify it. zutara isn't any more sexual than any other ship, less in some cases, but it will always been seen as such because antis see katara as a madonna with a@ng and a whore with zuko.
(i would just like to clarify that this is talking about generalizations. obviously not everyone who dislikes zutara feels like this, but i think this i a common way that people view it, even if they don't realize it.)

okay.. go my sheriff/hank ( individual and pairing ) headcanons / thoughts this is going to be really long, careful when you open it.
each dash is its own thing. for hank ( he / they / it / she is reserved. ) :
- hank is G01 / generation 1 grunt, but a particularly strange one in the sense that they are not a grunt. hank is a script. i headcanon hank as being the cannoneer / cannoneer script in the original marshmallow madness and how they are shown in the magiturge arena mode ending. i am on purpose ignoring that he was mentioned to be a G02 by swain.. hank is a script and as such behaves differently than everybody else because they were never intended to be a person or an entity. hank as the cannoneer script was intended to just be that, a placeholder with a face in the very early stages of nevada's creation and the nowhere. i started to lean into this headcanon a lot more when i saw a clip of krinkels answering a question regarding why the maker scribbles out hank in the cave drawings, with him saying "because he's a strange one. he's a very strange one. not really a.. not really a one with the identity as the maker understands it." ..i just think it'd be funny if hank was never meant to have an identity in the first place and was a function first before being a person. it's why hank is so down the straight and narrow about getting the job done, you gave him something to do and he will do it. i like to describe hank as being an extension of the machine itself as a script.
- hank's height, width and depth changes subtly to drastically with each time he dies and comes back. i like to keep his base height at 6'2" but if you were to linger around them for long enough, you might notice every so often that he seems a bit shorter than usual or a bit taller, or he has a bit more or less muscle somewhere. it's just a result of supply of material to sew him back together.
- hank harbors no sense of physical attraction to anybody in the sense of finding anyone 'hot', 'cute', 'pretty', 'sexy', etc. they see absolutely nobody as attractive in that sense and the most you will ever see in terms of complimenting appearances is with how much 'cool factor' there is to something.
- hank sees red. for them there is not really a black and white, a good vs evil, a grey area. everything is red in that everything and anyone can be a tool. it's not really a 'sees red and gets angry / violent' thing. everybody looks the same to it on a moral / alliance / loyalty point. it has no issue turning on you if you get in the way or alligning with you if you can work to the same goal it has.
- for awhile, hank behaved very npc like or average grunt like before the whole punching the boombox guy. a whole lot of no particularly violent activity until that incident and it being like the switch flip of 'oh wait. i dont really know why but i think ive done this kinda killing people thing before ( marshmallow madness ) but im really really enjoying it,' like it might be a natural thing hank knows to do. - almost all of hank's outfit is a diy project it works on when it is bored, parts are stolen during missions ( homes / clothing stores ) or straight from the garbage. in a sense that's how hank is gradually building an identity for themself.
â hank has no issue with dying itself, but it's a matter of what circumstance and how they die that will determine if that irritates it enough to come back. ( i.e some stupid rug pulling bullshit or getting a kill stolen by dying to something stupid. )
- much of hank's skin is discolored or outright not the same shade or tone as their original skin since they're a hankenstein of various people's body's now ( haha ). they're also missing some certain parts that don't particularly bother them. its more like accessory and so long as they have the necessary parts that won't cause them complications, it frankly doesn't give a shit if something is gone.
for sheriff ( he ) : - go my transgender bear. - sheriff self medicated with alcoholic and as a result, over the years became a functioning alcoholic. this is entirely based on the line of 'pass the whiskey' he has and also the whole.. debacle he's been put in. he smells always vaguely of whiskey as a result of this. he feels a bit braver drunk but y'know.. reality backhands him in the face again and he focuses.
- sheriff and jeb are not friends. at best they are aquaintances, allies by circumstance not by goal. sheriff is afraid of jeb and worries about pissing him off as it might mean he loses an ally and potentially gains an enemy if he doesn't comply with his orders ( i.e assisting jeb in plans like lending his men to deal with hank ). at this point in time, jeb seems wildly unstable and too zeroed in on his savior bullshit for sheriff to feel comfortable speaking up at all about not wanting to deal with this stuff anymore. sheriff was a normal guy first that had no intention of getting involved with this stuff in the first place until jeb pulled him into it with fear as a motivation. jeb isn't a friend, just a 'friendly-face'. - sheriff has gotten better at hiding his fear / non-fighter nature at least with the way he talks. the fear and the desire to live is always there but the way he presents himself feeds into how he is perceived. at the end of everything, sheriff is always running away from the site of conflict if he's in an unsafe spot or at a disadvantage. covering up his fear makes him appear very cocky and arrogant - sheriff's hair is long as well as his beard, it is like a mane. it's his pride and he tries his best to keep it well maintained but he's.. too stressed to keep it up all the time. there are some curly and wiggly looking hairs ( i don't know the right term for it ) sticking out, and some parts tangled and thick. he feels weird if he were to ask anyone of his men to brush it out. - sheriff is a lot better at fighting and defending himself at this current point in time ( mpn2 and ahead ) but he is held back by the fact he is worried about dying or getting injured in general. he's afraid of taking a risk and would much rather use traps and a whole lot of walls in the way. - sheriff likes to hum, whistle and sing quietly to soothe his nerves. unfortunately, given his desire to uphold a strong image, he overthinks that being heard humming or singing, even quietly, around any of the MERC units will have him perceived as too soft or an oddity. for this reason, he is usually found whistling little bits when he's actually roaming the MERC buildings and his humming and quiet singing is for when he's patrolling the industrial sector walls on his own. - he carries a level of care for the MERC under his leadership but has a confused relationship with his individuality and being a part of a group. he was a guy first and foremost and because of the responsibility that was put onto him by jeb to protect these people he feels an obligation to forego his feelings and emotional needs. as a result he doesn't really.. interact with them on a super friendly level as much as he would say, a stranger with a friendly chat. he sees them as just people to be protected, a group and not individuals. he can separate himself from them but he also cant. - the nutrient slop in a can he's been eating for so many years has dulled his sense of taste a bit. if you gave him something that tasted real, even as greasy as a goddamn burger his face would light up. hot food does things to your mind and you dont realize it until you've had it again. - sheriff and the industrial sector represent each other. with large walls and many defenses to protect himself but with unfortunate cracks and weak points created over time. there can be so many barriers but many pathways, many vents for someone to crawl through and find the weak point.
ok. go my old man yaori.
their entire relationship is a push and pull. - their relationship (?) is a secret for as much as they are capable of keeping it a secret. sheriff desperately wants to keep it a secret because he fears that his men ( MERC ) finding out could potentially get him exiled or worse killed for being a 'traitor'. he also doesn't want to lose that sense of safety and togetherness, a stable foundation for him to stand and walk on. it's why he kicks himself in the head about the whole thing because he knows he shouldn't be getting involved like this. - as i mentioned before, hank feels no physical attraction to anybody and that applies to sheriff as well. it feels nothing in terms of 'wow he's cute' or 'he's hot'. the times that it can be mistaken that hank finds something about sheriff that is cute in terms of physical appearance is for different reasons. for example.. sheriff blushing and hank responding positively to that is not because hank finds that image to be cute but because he understands that image to be a positive thing. if : sheriff is blushing, then : i did something good, since i understand blushing as something that happens when someone is flattered. it elicits a positive reaction from hank because he understands it as something good and beneficial, rather than it being found personally cute or pretty. - hank thinks that sheriff did have a sort of glow up and that he looks 'cooler' now ( i.e you don't look like a wimp anymore ) however he thinks that the absolute layering of clothes, body armor and ammo looks tacky as hell. he gets why sheriff is wearing all that but it could have better days. they do find the leather chaps sheriff wears to be the one thing that kind of look cool, so it has taken the liberty of messing with them a bit, with permission, to make them look a bit cooler. it likes leather. on the topic of what sheriff wears, hank also doesn't like what he's wearing because it makes sheriff obnoxiously annoying to fight in close combat. it'll swing at sheriff and feel the padding and get a bit irritated because he really is just layered in protection, no satisfaction that it normally gets from feeling the injury caused in a fight. ..hank knows that it'd be better to leave not too many injuries, but that doesn't stop it from being irritated when they trade punches and it can feel a bruise on the highway while sheriff likely hasn't gotten something so serious. it's the kind of bullshit it doesn't like. hank wears body armor and padding too but not nearly as much. - they're both at around level terms of fighting capability, it is their personalities and style that make the difference. hank does not like sheriff's style of fighting in the presence of other people watching whatsoever as he thinks it's cowardly and unengaging. he's always at a distance, rapid fire, itchy finger. it's like dealing with a turret with self awareness and a mouth to run insults at you. the bullshit bullshiiiit he doesnt like. it's why hank prefers the little spats they get in. - hank's biggest upside in their situationship is how direct and to the point they are, it really hates the dancing around the topic sheriff does. if sheriff is being particularly dodgy about something or acting differently or avoidant, hank asks directly what is going on. it figured out relatively fast that sheriff's cowardly avoidant nature applies to just about anything and it has to adapt to that. sheriff's biggest downside is his reluctance to vocalize his needs as he doesn't entirely perceive hank as a person yet, still seeing him partially as the man in the posters, meaning he doesn't believe hank is capable of accommodating, being affectionate, or being considerate of his needs.
- sheriff hates vocalizing or articulating anything that seems like proof to the world or himself of his affections towards hank. something simple as wanting to have an embrace, he does not want to say it. it's acknowledgement of his affections, and he doesn't want to acknowledge it. he would rather outright go for the hug or for hank to initiate it first. on the same note, neither of them say i love you to each other. hank doesn't particularly care.. it just sees it as another expression of affection and it doesn't find words to be as fun as actions. sheriff doesn't say it for the reasons above and it feels way too intimate for him anyway. it's like saying 'yes, hank j wimbleton most wanted person in nevada who has killed many many and killed me once as well, i lovey wovey you'. he feels stupid saying it. it's 3 words but he hears a lot more. - sheriff still maintains a grudge for having been killed by hank many years ago, it's sort of shallow now though. he already got even with hank at the start of this snowballing situation, as they had a spat and he shot them dead. - hank is the grounded one in the situationship, more mentally stable and.. decisively stable than sheriff. he often has to be very blunt so sheriff stops rocking around, thinking too hard about something. - they don't talk to each other that often but on the chances they do, they do have some.. detailed conversations on things. it can range from something mundane as guns, what attachments they like on theirs to .. more delicate topics.
- hank often returns to sq hq smelling faintly of whiskey and sheriff often returns to MERC warehouses smelling vaguely of rotting bodies and blood. they both have smelled each other and they both think they both smell like shit. when possible, sheriff will continuously nudge that hank go and bathe, though that means sheriff has to as well. - hank thinks sheriff is a bit.. like crazy? or at least not making the smartest decisions sometimes. he wonders why sheriff maintains really long hair even though he works around machinery a lot. hank thinks that he's beign a bit ridiculous for being such a worry wart and not doing anything about the glaring issue in his wardrobe. it has vocalized this issue and are usually met with sheriff giving him a bit of a dirty look. at the least, hank does like to touch his hair. sheriff doesn't particularly care that much about hank touching his hair, just that he doesn't cut it. it likes to feel the texture and pick out tangles, it gives hank something to do in a mundane slow time. - sheriff has one of hank's black bandanas. it let him keep it when sheriff as gotten a bit of a nasty slash during a spat they had together, hank had tied it around the wound and he let sheriff keep it. sheriff now uses it as part of his outfit from time to time. it alternates usually from 3 places : a hair tie for a low ponytail, tied around his arm, or most unseen, in his right back pants pocket. aaha. hheh. heh. ok i'm tired, there's more but big man wants to eat his damn ass food.. idk uh, my writing somewhat properly is escaping me

The Difference Between You And Your Future Spouse's Ex
Hello and welcome to this Pick A Pile! In here you'll find a the difference between you and your fs's ex. I hope you guys enjoy and find this useful. Do make sure to leave comments down below on your experience! I want to remind you all that this is a General Pick A Pile which means this is for a lot of people: therefore keep what resonates and leave what doesn't.
Masterlist > Questions > Paid Readings
Pick A Pile!
Pile 1:
The ex of your future spouse had a personality that was way smaller than yours. They weren't openly passionate about a lot of things, didn't show their excitement in big gestures. They were mostly neutral when it came to expressing their emotions and needs. They found everything 'just fine' and if there was something wrong they had a tendency to use a form of the silent treatment as a 'punishment', even though that made it even more difficult for your future partner to fix anything that was going in.
Because of this your future spouse had trouble communicating with their ex. This being one of the reasons why the relationship eventually broke apart.
Pile 2:
The ex of your future spouse was really clingy and jealous. They had a hard time letting your future spouse go out with friends, even when they'd be invited. And if after a lot of complaining they did decide to tag along they'd often make passive agressive comments and try to go home really early.
Your future spouse likes socialising with friends and family, likes having a big social circle. Their ex had a ton of problems with that and showed that in different ways like the one I just talked about. Eventually that was one of the main reasons why the relationship broke off.
Pile 3:
The relationship between your ex and your future spouse was mainly good but as life progressed the two of them parted ways with no big feelings. This most likely happened when going to college / university and deciding not to try on long distance.
Your future spouse and their ex went along great with one another but did have different passions, and different views on things such as life, morals, the future. When comparing their ex to you, you allign way better with what your future spouse likes in a relationship, what they need, what they enjoy doing and are interested about. This really is the most healthy pile of all.

here is a hot take
kamala loosing is proof that dems never learn
the liberal reaction to her lost is a proof the dems turn alt right extremists the second its convinient for them
real moral person who care for human right will never vote for genocide. period. no excuses. you voted for genocide you decided your quality of life are worth more than someone else's right to be alive. which is, unsurprisingly, a fascistic and immoral mindset.
also falling back to the argument that thing A is bad shows that you have no argument. when you argue with someone, you usually argue about the disagreements, falling back to arguing something you both agree on just shows you have no real arguments left. saying "well trump is bad" shows your understanding of the topic is "trump is bad so my opinion must be good because it allign with my trump is bad opinion so any other opinion is bad" which I don't even have the mental energy to explain how stupid this is. STOP BRINGING UP THINGS WE AGREE ON WHEN WE ARGUE ABOUT OUR DISAGREEMENTS.
its like when people say "well hamas did these bad things". yes? and?? that's not what we're talking about???? if you want to have a conversation about how bad trump is we could sit here and list every thing we dislike about him, but that's not the point when we argue about why KAMALA is bad/good is it?

Transformers One: Decepticons and Autobots
Yesterday I went to see TFOne and while it was overall a fun experience I think it would be also fun to decompose the way this movie portrays soon-to-be 'cons and 'bots.
Beware of the spoilers!
So the society and worldbuilding of Transformers One is clearly inspired by both Alligned continuity (Transformers Prime and such) and IDW2005 G1 continuity (MTMTE, RiD and such) tales about how the world looked like before the war. Of course it was only a inspiration, the liberties has been taken but some specific changes seem... well, as if they feared their source matherial to me.
Making the society divided to classes, the existence of miners is a clear inspiration from the continuities I mentioned. BUT. Making the miners exclusively (from what i observed and checked on tf wiki), besides D-16, future autobots, when in the inspirations the decepticons basically rised up from the mines is something else.
It might be G1 cartoon inspiration, where we learn in one episode that Quintessons constructed autobots as working class (TFOne: miners) and decepticons as warrior class (TFOne: High Guard). But here, melted with IDW and Alligned inspirations it feels as if the creators wanted to kinda make autobots less morally grey that their inspirations intended. The fact that the only "bully" from higher class than miners we ever see being actually piece of shit with a name is Darkwing, who we know as a decepticon also is pretty telling.
Overall I feel like the creators of this movie really wanted to take inspirations from IDW and Alligned continuity but also felt stangely uncomfortable with the implications of those continuities. Of decepticons having a point, of autobots being morally complicated, to put it lightly. It's understandable as it's a mainstream, singular movie that can't be too complicated, but still it feels kinda disappointing to me.
Giving Orion Pax the role we saw Megatron in in inspirations (a poet and an activist in IDW, a politican and a gladiator in Alligned), in the scene where he gives the speech to the miners really hammers it down. We can literally imagine Megatron doing that in universes that gave inspirations to this movie!
If someone knows more about how the creative process around this part of the movie worked I'd be glad to know!
#also feel free to add your thoughts discussion about that would be so interesting#seeing prowl in the crowd of miners was like a fever dream#megatron got kinda massacred here ok#i have a lot of thoughts about this movie but let's just go with that#transformers one#tf one#tf one spoilers#spoilers#tf one 2024#transformers#transformers theory#maccadam#Optimus Prime#Orion Pax#Megatron#d 16#prowl#this movie was a rollercoaster in some way

BESTIE LEFT NO CRUMBS. I desperately wish we could stop santizing these characters in order to position ourselves as morally superior for liking them. You can acknowledge a character has done/does shitty things and still enjoy them as a character.
I love the way you write Eris. I think heâs just a super interesting character in general. But I was wondering what you think happened between him and Mor? If you had any theories or have seen any that you liked? I havenât read all of your fics yet so if you talk about it in one of them sorry to ask you again!
I have answered this once in the past, but who knows what I tagged it as. Feyre was in Mor's head, and so I do think things went down EXACTLY as Mor saw them. I doubt she was lying in her mind to deceive Feyre. Additionally, Mor feels real fear and is genuinely upset when Rhys goes behind her back to work with Eris.
The fandom, imo, should grapple with why they're willing to automatically believe something sinister happened/ Mor is a liar just because Eris said there was more to the story than Cassian knew. That doesn't make Mor a liar- it just means Eris was keeping secrets and she's not a mind reader. Regardless of whatever Eris's motivations were (and I suspect that he left her there to keep his father from forcing him to marry her, which is hardly noble just fyi), she's not wrong for hating him/being afraid of him.
Eris has also cultivated a reputation as being as brutal as his father. A lot of the anti-Mor/pro Eris sentiment relies on her KNOWING this is a mask but how is she supposed to? It took Cassian 800 pages to decide that perhaps Eris was not as awful as he let on, and Eris certainly did nothing to help Cassian think so.
Two things can be true: Eris harmed Mor that day, along with whatever went on during their engagement (even if they were both unwilling) AND Eris's reasons for doing so were to spare them both. That doesn't absolve Eris of the harm he caused, nor is Mor obligated to forgive him. This fandom understands the concept that women don't owe men forgiveness, their time, their attention UNTIL it comes to Mor. And then she owes all these men something, and is vilified for not holding their hand like she's their mommy.
And finally- this fandom does not love morally grey characters the way they say they do because you can like/stan Eris and acknowledge he's done harm. But too often the harm gets erased in order to stan him/absolve him/place him in a morally superior position to the IC.
Literally free Mor from this fandom. What has she ever done wrong besides not like any of these men?
#Your favorite character doesn't need to allign with your moral compass. Do you know that?#It's important to me that you know that

how do you cope with knowing that you gave your whole heart to someone for so many years and they chose someone else? i loved her for over ten years and we were together for four of those years but she's getting married in two weeks. i don't know how to forgive myself for loving her so much and i don't know what to do with all the love that's left.
i don't believe you need to forgive yourself for giving love to another person. giving love isn't a wrong you need to correct, and it implies the relationship you once had was never worth anything to begin with, which is deeply unfair to both of you and disregards the reality and sincerity of the love you did feel when you were together. i don't think you need to recall the love you gave, i think you need to look at why you believe being the honest version of yourself was the wrong thing to do: why do you need to forgive yourself for being you? why do you need to scrub yourself of your past to be worthy of a future moving forwards? why do you think the only version of yourself worthy of anything is the one you were with her and cannot be without her, with someone else?
at the end of the day, love isn't bookeeping. it's not a tally of incoming and outgoing expenses, or a series of investments you need to account for and justify based on if x was a bad transaction or y turned a nice profit etc. you respond, at any given moment, in any given relationship, with the love you have at that point, with the way you know how to give it at that point. sometimes this will allign with whomever you're with; sometimes what they need and what you can give, what you need and what they can give, will be one and the same and feed and nourish the other. and sometimes it won't--but that doesn't mean it's a moral failing on your part as a human being. sometimes, things simply will not fit any longer and i think it is vitally important for you to realise that someone who cannot reciprocate your feelings or the extent of them is, ultimately, not the person for you no matter how deeply you felt (or still feel) they were The One. that feeling has to be mutual to be true, and you haven't failed at being a person if it isn't.
heartbreak is different for everyone and there is no set timeline for moving on from somebody--all the love that's left over requires different outlets for different people so i don't know of any surefire way of dealing with it. but i do believe you won't find the outlet that you most need as long as you keep holding on to what you lost and all the ways you think you failed, or weren't good enough or the litany of if onlys that promise an alternate ending if only you'd done or been different. you cannot will yourself into a different ending for a past that has already happened, and no amount of keeping that past on life support will change this. all that love that remains is painful because it has nowhere to go, but the person you love isn't the only place it was ever destined for, either--i think love is receptive and dynamic and has a capacity to bloom into countles different things if you let it. but it cannot do this unless you begin to loosen your grip on it and allow yourself to find something other than loss or a condemnation of your entire being in it; otherwise it will continue to have nowhere to go and in the meantime only grow heavier and heavier. but once you let go of what was and what you wish had been, what you had finally takes different forms as a result of that new freedom--it becomes new awarenesses or new lessons or opens up new paths and understandings for yourself. it becomes knowledge, becomes tools, becomes something you can actually use in your life going forward to shape it in a more fulfilling and healthier way for yourself: but you have to let go for that change and learning to take place, without seeking to erase it or shame yourself for it not turning out the way you wanted.
clichéd as it sounds at this point, the only thing i really hold to, in anything, is that all rejection is redirection. and if you are able to love and give so boundlessly to someone who ultimately wasn't the right fit for you, then allow yourself to imagine how much and how vibrantly you can give to the person who is the right fit. what will your life look like when you allow yourself the opportunity to find the right pair of hands for that love? what will your life look like when you give that love back to yourself? when you let go of what isn't and cannot be and let new air into those old, locked rooms? when you stop trying to shame yourself for your care and your generosity? painful as it is, you won't be able to clear any space forward for yourself as long as you hold on to whatever you feel you lost: you can't go back to the relationship you had with her and for as long as you keep revisiting it you're only digging a deeper and more painful hole for yourself that will be harder to get out of in the end: you will remain stuck, while everyone else moves forward, and that will make you feel even more hopelessly stuck and the cycle repeats.
i'm not saying it's easy; it will be unspeakably painful to fully accept and admit that this is, truly, over and turn your back on what has been, i'm sure, a formative part of your life. but you can't grow there--you won't grow there, anon. and if you want a way forward for yourself, you have to go all the way through it. it sucks. it's not fair. but condemning any and all of your future happiness for a situation you can't change is not fair, either: you won't earn anything for this suffering except more suffering. and you need to realise this
so if pain in this process is inevitable, you may as well choose the pain that will get you somewhere. if she's moving on, you owe it to yourself--for your own sake, no one else's--to do so too.
i don't know if any of this helps, but please know i'm sending you love and rooting for you that the journey through this will lead you to a healthier, happier, and more fulfilling place, anon.

I'm sorry but how does the model of propriety sobriety and piety ever so merciful Sir cop River Ward's crush on the mercenary V actually allign with his moral compass
like that's the stealing thieving murdering V, what gold-worthy mental gymnastics is that boy doing to justify his feelings? What is he gonna tell the rest of his badges friends when "bounty on head NY most wanted criminal scum" V shows up to the police department Christmas office party as his plus one?
Or is it another case of a man bagging a clubbing diva after meeting her wilding at the said club, then getting surprised and offended when she still wants to grove at the disco after they tie the knot. Is this a case of "I can fix her!" to River?
#Also wow does he jump the gun fast#They really nailed the awkwardness of straight men suddenly confessing their feelings out of nowhere after giving you zero hints#sir wait your turn pls I still haven't even finished Judy's mission and you're inviting me for dinner already and saying you miss me#he coming off way too pushy hope he doesn't think he's getting this pussy#also I really love his name. River. What a beautiful name#Always remember that lullaby from the prince of Egypt when I read his name#âRiver oh river flow gently for me such precious cargo you bare. Do you know somewhere he can live free? River deliver him thereâ#âother fandoms#âcyberpunk#âRiver#Judy I can understand why she wants to fuck V. BUT RIVER???

A shocking amount of people who claim to hate radfems are in my mentions pushing the idea that transness is purely socially constructed. Like. "Gender is purely a social construct with no innate factors" is literally one of the basics of terf ideology. That's why they say you can't transition genders, because there's no such thing as "feeling like a gender." This debate is a repeat of the debate on innate sexuality that brought us conversion therapy from the right and political lesbianism from the left. As a person who previously fell for the idea of political lesbianism - the idea that sexuality was not innate but a political and moral choice - I can tell you that this idea leads to nothing but self-denial for the sake of group inclusion. It also leads to biphobia and other bigotry on the basis of the person's "choice" to "frame" their identity in the wrong way.
Even if we ignore that connection, the insistence that transness is a purely metaphysical, mysterious force that inhabits the body at random through no particular means is anti-science and anti-intellectual. It encourages the party engaging in systemic analysis of transmisogyny and transphobia to simply shut up because transness is unknowable. They imply there is no point in considering "man", "woman", and "nonbinary" to be categories born from a complex intersection of biology and culture. There's no point having any discussion at all about anything. Everything we perceive is a construct, and a construct can't be analyzed as something that has a comprehensive reality or impact. According to this type of reactionary constructs aren't useful tools to frame human experience, they're just get out of jail free cards for thinking about anything. Like other forms of science denialism, it positions itself as counter cultural while being perfectly in line with the status-quo. The science denialist leftist and the conversion therapist are alligned in their belief that transness can be changed within a person. They simply disagree on what should be done about it.
Your opinion about issues should be impacted by science. Otherwise, you'll be basing your theory on Vibes. Check out The Biological Contributions to Gender Identity and Gender Diversity: Bringing Data to the Table for a systematic review of the subject.

I think it's quite canon to say that Hank has a really strong sense of justice and his own sets of morals he follows, in a way he probably has some form of saviour-complex as well. Not to say that those morals and understanding of what is justice and who deserves it is conventional - often that's not the case - but nevertheless it's still there.
So being a cop he has some actual power to do something about things he percieves as unjust while also gives him freedom to sometimes turn a blind eye to things he doesn't care much about to prosecute even if those are illegal (like gambling or using services of someone who's clearly not allowed to sell food). He will break your nose and won't care about what anyone thinks about it and how much in trouble he'll get for it, if in his eyes it is the right thing to do.
So, it's unsurprising for him to want to be in position of some sort of power to do what he thinks is right. Just as others he's likely to abuse his powers, but in his case it's not to show "who's in power here" but to achieve the kind of justice he believes in. He will steal and even kill if that's what necessary to achieve this understanding of justice. But also, he won't do things he think is wrong even if his boss will tell him to. He's a difficult man to work with, but give him a case that allignes with his values and he will be extremely efficient in it. That's why Jeffrey prefers to keep him, because if the majority of cops are abusing (and will be abusing) their powers anyway, then it's better to have at least some people who would do that out of their sense of justice and not superiority complex.
okay so something got me started the other day on thinking about what kind of non-metal music hank would like and long story short i've been thinking a lot about his childhood/teenage years n stuff. like, what happened to make him the way that he is? that kinda stuff
my big question this is like, what made him decided to be a cop? why'd he go down the route of taking down drug lords or whatever? and not just deciding to become a cop but like being so dedicated to job that he became the youngest lieutenant in detroit (as per the game's canon)?
anyone got any headcanons? i'd love to read them
#dbh hank#dbh#Hank is extremely moral#it's just that his definition of moral isn't always alligned with what society thinks it should

Ninjago Character Search Engine
I made a tool where you can search Ninjago characters by name, type, allignment, species, gender, season, or a combination of all those factors. If you want to play around with it here's the link. I compiled all of the data myself so there's likely a few errors. I've already corrected where I had accidentally labeled Zane's dad as a serpentine. Please let me know if there's any problems!
How to use it
Basically, you just input the criteria you're interested in seeing. For instance, if you wanted to see all of the nindroids in Ninjago, you would do a search as follows.
An important thing you may notice here is I not only input "Nindroid", but I also input "New." I did this because my index has a new entry for each character each season. If you choose not you choose not to put "New," the output will include 21 Zanes, which is great but may not be what you're looking for.
Another thing to note is that if you're not searching by name, you need to make sure the name box is completely blank or you will get 0 results like in the following search where I left a space bar in the Name box.
If you are searching by Name, make sure the name exactly matches the entries or nothing will show up.
You can either view the entry in the index on the next sheet, or you can just find the person by inputting the proper criteria.
I also left some comments on the sheet with some useful tips! Feel free to ask any questions!
Criteria
I think it's important I explain how I created and employed my criteria as it can be pretty subjective.
Type
Type is one of my more subjective criteria. The options are Main, Supporting, Recurring, Guest, or Ensemble and I agonized over some of these placements. For instance, did Mr. F fulfill a supporting or Recurring role during season 9? Very difficult to say. Still, generally, these were my definitions. Main: Ninja (usually) or someone who significantly contributed to the plot and had a large percentage of screentime (it takes a lot for me to demote a ninja from main, but I had to in DR) ex: Lloyd in season 4
Supporting: A character that has a significant degree of screentime, their own personality/backstory, and helps another character push the plot along ex: Garmadon in season 4
Recurring: Pretty much any character that speaks in more than a few episodes ex: Chope and Kapau in season 4
Guest: A character with personality who speaks or otherwise makes a mark in only one episode that season ex: Morro in season 4
Ensemble: A character that's only in the background and/or has no personality of their own and/or is just sort of filling out an army ex: Acidicus in season 4
Allignment
Allignment is also a very tricky category. I had to make a choice about whether neutral or good would be the default for characters I don't know much about. I went with good as I feel like it fits the tone of the show. Thus, I assume for instance that Mara from Nya's class is a good person even though she's done nothing to demonstrate that.
Good: Default. Also, if you help save the world, I usually let it overshadow previous bad behaviour. ex: Arin in Dragons Rising (S1)
Neutral: You have to be pretty morally ambiguous to get this designation. I generally assigned it to influencers, anti-heros, somewhat redeemed villains, and members of morally unclear societies. ex: Agent Rodrick Allen in Dragons Rising (S1)
Evil: I generally assigned this to all antagonists, even if they weren't actively trying to destroy the world. ex: Rapton in Dragons Rising (S1)
Species
Here's a list of each species I included in my index.
Human Nindroid Demigod Skeleton Dragon Serpentine Beast Oni Ghost Djinn Hunter Construct Formling Munce Geckle Islander Merlopian Devonian Tide Unknown Miscellanous
Most of this criteria is pretty objective, so I'll only clarify the less obvious ones.
Beast: Any animal, monster, or creature. ex: Krag from the Ice Chapter
Construct: I applied this to any character created by another whether it be through magic or engineering. I excluded Nindroids because they're a large enough sub-category. ex: Bonzle from Dragons Rising or MiniPix Seven from Crystalized
Unknown: This just applies to the Forbidden Five as we don't know much about them but they don't appear human. ex: Nox in Dragons Rising
Miscellaneous: I only applied this in rare categories where not only was their species a bit unclear, but they appeared to be the only member of that species on screen. ex: Benthomaar from Seabound
Gender
Oh no, it appears I accidentally created a gender cascade. Anyway, I based character's genders primarily off of the gender of their VA , but I also took into consideration the pronouns other characters used to refer to them. I didn't do a thorough transcript search though, so let me know if I've made any errors. I designated some characters as unknown, usually because they neither spoke nor were spoken about.
Season
Season, like species, is also pretty objective but I'll clarify some of my choices. I only used titles for Day of the Departed and the Islandbecause they don't really fit into the numbered seasons. I used numbers rather than season names for the most part because they're more concise. I designated Dragons Rising seasons 1 and 2 as 16 and 17, primarily because that's how I view them, but also for this conciseness factor. I split season 17 into two seasons (17 and 17.5) because they're two unqiue arcs that different casts of characters, some of which have changed their allignments/types between part 1 and 2. I may do the same for 11 and 16 in the future.
New/Old
I put a new entry for each character so it was necessary for me to designate whether this was the first entry of the character or a repeat entry. Having multiple entries allows you to view how characters changed over seasons rather than only being able to see their initial criteria. It also allows you to see the full cast breakdown for each season.
That's pretty much it! Here's the link again. Please do play around with the search and let me know if you find anything cool. The link also includes all of my previous spreadsheets so peruse that at your leisure if you're interested. Thanks as always for reading this far and let me know if you have any feedback, made the exact same thing previously (looking at you @agenericplaceholdername ), or have requests for new spreadsheets or charts. I have a lot of options now that I've created this tool and I've very excited to use it!
