Mercedes-Benz 280SE 3.5 Coupé, 1970. I took these photos earlier today near where I live in Moorgate, London. It is a late series W111 (they stopped making them in 1971) in very good original condition. There was a Ferrari Roma parked behind it but if I had the choice I would have driven off in the Mercedes.

Incredible work!
I can finally share my piece for Broads And Broadswords vol 2! (@broadsandbroadswords) A wonderful zine that, this year alone, managed to donate over 6500 USD to the Transgender Law Center.
I decided to do a take on a sword in the stone type of story.
She was fated to claim an enchanted sword and, upon doing so, was crowned queen. And heavy is that crown; she has seen much horror and loss, some of it by her own hand. So she pleads for the stone to take back the sword and its burden. (Okay, maybe less plead and more she tried to violently ram it back in place with sheer anger and anguish) But fate is a cold uncaring beast.

Moorgate Tube Crash
Forty-three people lost their lives in the deadliest accident to ever take place on the London Underground. On the morning of February 28, 1975, a train carrying 300 passengers approached Moorgate Station, but didn't slow down. It was traveling between 30 and 40 mph, with Leslie Newson at the controls.
At 8:46 am, the six-car train slammed into the overrun tunnel - a dead end. An investigation later revealed that the brakes had not been applied and Newson, in the front of the train, made no move to stop the collision.
The first two cars - and most of the third - were crushed upon impact.
As firefighters and other first responders went deeper into the tunnel, they looked for individuals trapped in the debris. Don Pye, a photographer from the London Fire Brigade, captured images of the scene and later described it:
In one doorway there was a row of businessmen, some still with their briefcases, standing as they would have been, waiting for the train to stop, but all dead.
Emergency workers spent six days looking for survivors. While the crash was eventually attributed "entirely in the behaviour of motorman Newson during the final minute before the accident occurred," no motive or reason was ever found.

My London geography isn't great but I noticed something on my reread of Lockwood and Co.
Kinda spoilers for the last book ahead. Ish.
So in TEG we learn that Lockwood's parents died in the underpass where the Euston Road ducks underground to avoid intersecting with another street. Well, in TSS in the scene we meet Kipps at the archives he says his team are there researching because of a 'Cluster of ghosts in a road tunnel near Moorgate.' and on the next page makes that odd comment about how bad things happen to people Lockwood's close to 'Since he was ever so young.' and there's a catch in his voice when he says it, and Lockwood gets all tense and closed off.
Did Kipps just read about Lockwood's parents' deaths in that road tunnel and not so subtly let Lockwood know that he knows? Is that what happens in that interaction? Cause if so that's one hell of a delayed pay off and I kinda love it.
