Khonshu's appeared again, just standing behind Miguel and watching what sort of work he's doing over his shoulder.

(Probably doesn't turn up on Lyla's sensors. Or any sensors.)

Unfortunately for whatever shred is left of the leader of the Spider-Society's dignity, there is't any work being done. What the god of the moon and vengeance sees instead?

A very worn out, wrung-out, strung-out old man slumped over his desk in the dark, head in his arms. His holoscreen displays, in all its bright-ass orange glory, someone asking him over and over if he's a bottom.

And Miguel actually answered the damn thing.

Needless to say, it takes him a moment for him to recognize the feeling of being watched when at the forefront of his mind, all he can feel is his self-respect going straight down the shitter.

He warily lifts his head up, running a hand through his disheveled hair. How the shocking hell could someone have come in? He would've heard or smelled them, right? Even if not, LYLA would've told him, right?

Miguel's head snaps around--

Oh boy. Given her career choice, it's a shock that it's taken this long for an angry god to come her way. She's been expecting something like this for some time now.

"How does it just keep coming back to this." Riley thinks, out loud. She taps the statue. You spend a week in Greece, come back to post, and suddenly a sun god is yelling at you.

"Y'know, Technically, I wasn't the original thief. I stole it from someone else." Some rich guy who took it from its original tomb. This whole mess had been going on for enough time that she had forgotten her original orders for that job. The girl sets the statue off to the side, still within her reach. Just in case.

"I am not afraid of you. I have seen gods and monsters, I have seen creatures even the most disturbed mind couldn't dream up. You do not fill me with fear and cannot intimidate me." She straightens her back, putting herself in front of the statue. "If you want it back, you have to get through me." She's never been afraid of (nor liked) the sun. She does her job in the night, under the safety of the moon. Riley Koening will not be intimidated by The God of The Sun.

Anyhow...before we go any further let's lay down some blog rules shall we?

3. This is mostly an OC blog but I'm more than willing to rp as the moon boys too if interested. My blog is is oc and Canon friendly. Respect others portrayal of Canon characters and OCs.

4. I don't tolerate any kind of intolerance on here, any -ism or -phobia isn't allowed. Kinda mad I still have to say it.

5. Please be patient. I'm trying to get back into RPing and I'm also living life. If I don't get back to a plot line right away I'm very sorry. My life is busy and I try to make time for everything.

6. I do have the right to turn down or not answer rp requests and asks. I will use it.

7. Don't be an asshole. If your characters only personality trait is being a jerk, then you need to work on them. My character doesn't exist to be your character's punching bag. Thank you.

Name: Lyra Shelby (however wants to legally change her last name to Lockley)

Age: in her early to mid 30s

Height: 5 foot 3 inches, so rather short

Important info: Lyra is the avatar of Mafdet, the goddess of divine retribution. Being a cheetah goddess, Lyra has many feline like abilities. She has super speed, advanced senses, and her nails elongate and harden into claws. She grows ears and tail when she shifts to her hero persona.

Relationship status: considers herself married, though she doesn't have her husband's name or ring...it's complicated.

Orientation: female, she/her pronouns, panromantic, demisexual, polyamorous.

Unlike the Moon Knight system, Lyra's avatar status is a family affair. The Goddess Mafdet is cursed, bound to the bloodline of her first priestess by her ex lover, ironically Khonshu, God of the moon. The two still go at it at times, and their situation is more complicated with their avatars being "married".

Lyra considers herself a married woman, though she can't legally marry her "husband", Jake Lockley. Jake is a part of the Moon Knight system, which contains three different personalities in one body: Marc Spector, Steven Grant, and of course Jake Lockley. Marc, the main personality, is still married to his wife Layla, and Lyra doesn't wish to interfere with that. That being said, all three of them live together after learning about Jake and Lyra. Its a complicated situation but they all make it work.

When she's not doing superhero work, Lyra is an author and independent journalist, with a few books out and is currently working on a new one. Shes bilingual, speaking both English and German. Lyra also understands some Spanish thanks to Jake, though she herself doesn't speak it.

Like the Moon Knight system she also comes from a history of abuse, from a mostly absent, military oriented father and a stepmother who mistreated her. She has siblings but she doesn't talk to them all that much anymore. Bringing them up is a bit of a sore subject for her, as she has deep seated resentment and desire for revenge against them (which is how she emerged as Mafdets avatar to begin with). Shes in therapy but it only barely helps keep the resentment at bay...

After that day, Miguel started seeing him a lot more often.

Okay, maybe “a lot” was hyperbolic, but it was still much more than he’d liked (which was never again). Out of the corner of his eye, in pitch black corridors of the HQ before the automated lights flickered on, in the reflections of the big-ass windows late at night when it was just him passing by, in random dips in temperature and gusts of wind in places where that should never happen…

It felt like some shitty horror movie that Miguel would’ve affectionately chastised his daughter for being so paranoid for watching too late— but this was (probably?) real, and not some shitty CGI, and really not funny.

Seriously. He’s taken more drug tests than necessary. Rapture wouldn’t have this sort of side effect unless he overdosed, right? And he certainly would’ve known if he’d taken more than the usual dose.

(Which didn’t rule out if seeing this… this creepy-ass bone-bird apparition was some sort of shocked-up amalgamation born of lingering guilt and booze and sleep deprivation.)

There’s also the chance it could actually be something, someone— but what? Hijo de puta, he’s got enough to worry about, but sure, fine, add a horrifying incorporeal monstrosity that seems dead-set on watching him and making him question his sanity to it. What could possibly go wrong?

Day 5 of the Mind Shockening is when Miguel finally decides to try to research it. He’d gotten a few hours to himself for once, alone (?) in his office, so he might as well try to figure out if he’s actually losing his mind or if someone else in this shocked up universe has experienced this.

Surprisingly? Yes. The more Miguel deep-dives through the web, the weirder it gets. The Egyptian Ennead is apparently real, and a long time ago, one of them— Khonshu, the god of the moon and of vengeance, has anointed himself an avatar to wreak what he considered righteous justice. Plus, the gusts of wind, the cold temperatures, and messing with electricity are apparently indicators of the deity’s presence, and it all lines up to what he’d been experiencing…

(Strange. Wasn’t Khonshu supposed to be falcon-headed? A darkly funny thought that maybe the next 70 years wreaked as much havoc on the gods as they did the rest of the world enters Miguel’s head, and is brushed off right after.)

Though, it still doesn’t explain why he’s stalking him. What, did the Spider-Society manage to piss off a whole deity? Some rogue idiot in Miguel’s care? Miguel himself? How would he even deal with that?

Christ, this is raising more questions than answers and a headache blooming behind his eyes.

The dinging sound of a notification from one of Miguel’s many open holoscreen windows breaks him out of his concentration. Normally, he’d be irritated— at both the intrusion and allowing himself to have that many screens swarmed around him— but maybe he can give this a rest before he actually loses his damn mind.

…

Nope.

It’s just some pushy idiot on his blog repetitively badgering him about whether or not he takes it up the ass.

Miguel slumps over on his desk, thoroughly worn out; his talons scratching at the terminal out of annoyance. Can’t the universe give him a shocking break? Just once in his life?

Behind him, the wind picks up.

- KHONSHU IS AN ASSHOLE. Nothing he says reflects my real views about anything. If he’s mean to you, it doesn’t mean I don’t like you or you’ve done something wrong.

- FOR OTHER MARC/STEVEN/JAKE MUSES: By default, I'll play Khonshu like he's connected to your Marc/Steven/Jake. If you want it to be dimension-hopping shenanigans (which I'm super down to do, especially for ones more heavily based on the comics) you'll have to let me know! All these interactions will be on different verses, and I don't plan to have Khonshu be 'mains' with any muses.

- FIGHTS: With extremely rare exceptions, I'm just gonna say no to fight threads with Khonshu. Partly because he's incorporeal and really can't be hurt or hurt anyone else directly. Mostly because fighting other muses has always stressed me out. If it's something you really want to do, we can talk about it. (This doesn't mean your character can't attack Khonshu ever, it just means it probably won't work.)

NAME: Khonshu OTHER NAMES: Chons, Bloody pigeon, Silly old bird (He accepts none of those) PRONOUNS: He/him HEIGHT: Varies, usually around 8-10 feet tall. WEIGHT: N/A (Incorporeal, like a ghost) AGE: Has existed since the dawn of time, so who knows.

- KHONSHU is the Egyptian god of the moon, vengeance, healing and time, among other smaller things. While he is enormously powerful in theory, he’s mostly unable to affect the physical world without use of a mortal AVATAR, dubbed his MOON KNIGHT. Those who agree to be his Avatar are granted superpowers and near-invulnerability, in exchange for agreeing to carry out his mission: Bringing vengeance against those who harm his travelers of the night.

- Khonshu is also somehow a billions-year-old grumpy baby who flips over trash cans when he doesn’t get his way.

- By default, Khonshu's current Avatar is JAKE LOCKLEY, only. But, he can also be played before the events of the show, when he (technically) has the triple threat of Jake Lockley, MARC SPECTOR, and STEVEN GRANT.

- Jake will make occasional cameos on this blog, but I wouldn't call this a dual muse. (You can request him in asks if you want.)

- Normally, only his Avatar (or Avatars of other gods) are capable of seeing/hearing Khonshu, but let’s say this blog is a holy space where he can answer your prayers questions. (In threads, we can always bullshit a reason your character can see Khonshu.)

- This Khonshu is HEAVILY BASED ON THE TV SHOW, which means he lacks a lot of the harsher history his comic book counterpart has. You can ask about comic stuff, he just might have a different opinion.

- Some comic lore has been added/built upon, namely his fraught history with his father, AMON-RA.
