he's kind of quiet so a lot of times you do most the talking

he rambles when he's stressed/nervous/anxious or when he's rambling about an interest/something he likes

and trust, he rambles a lot because he loves you bro

he's very respectful with boundaries and will NEVER cross them

he's got a whole list in his mind that he constantly checks on before he even moves around you

he's very gentle but he's not infantilizing if you have any mental / physical disabilities

like he's not gonna treat you like a baby, but he will be careful and respectful and help as much as he can

having a panic attack? he's right at your side trying to help. need your medicine site changed? he's at your service with hand sanitizer and everything you need

you were actually kind of oblivious to his advances

you thought he was just being nice by giving you a reading / teaching you about astrology

he'd always somehow find you just at the right time so you could escape your little dead boy detectives + crystal & niko

gonna be honest, you need a break sometimes. it's hard

but you loved going on little late night adventures with him and trying new food and rollerskating with him

but you did catch on to his feelings after he had to literally spell it out for you

you reference inside jokes ALL THE TIME and charles/edwin/crystal/niko never understand

then you remember "oh I have to explain this" when they give you a confused look

you love looking at funny tiktoks together

and cringe ones that deserve a restraining order

you're basically commentary youtubers atp

you make him bracelets as well, whether they be kandi or string or whatever

he wears them all the time

he's given you a couple jackets as well... let's hope esther never finds out (because they're hers. she was not buying him a whole wardrobe after turning him human)

he loves sharing music with you

and he's always begging for aux in the car / to make you listen to a song / etc etc

i see him being a hozier / david kushner / ethel cain / old friends fan

but he relates to a large handful of sleep token songs as well (I have to mention them at any moment I'm sorry)

he usually listens per artist on his playlists but there are some stray songs that are just there that scream him / he loves

like the reason by hoobastank, airhead by honey revenge, and hell by the home team

he's a pretty empathetic person

like if he sees you in any sort of non-happy state, he's gonna ask if you're okay and be there for you

he giggles and laughs a lot

you're very funny, you make him laugh a lot

so he's always drawing you when you aren't looking / just in his free time

so there's a lot of those between you two

he's genuinely so sweet

“Don‘t you know who I am?” It’s instinctive, and it comes out a little more arrogant than intended, but the man before him doesn’t even blink.

“Do you think I care?” he retorts, and there’s just as much bite. It makes anger flare inside of Thomas, hot and prickling at the sheer audacity. The man is shorter than him - only by a handful of inches, but still - he’s smaller, thinner, and obviously not as big a name, but it’s like he doesn’t seem to know that. He stares down Thomas with enough sass and fire to make it clear he considers Thomas a worthy opponent, which– wow. It’s been a long time since Thomas encountered someone this brave.

Thomas has always been good at reading people, always had a knack for picking the needy ones - the desperate, starstruck boys and girls and everything in between who just want to be told they’re wanted, who invariably fall spellbound under his gaze and pliant under his hands.

The fledgling in the second row is perfect. He’s pretty, feathered black hair and pouty red lips, and his dark eyes fix on Thomas with the kind of wonder that doesn’t feel like flattery as much as it does certainty. He knows it won’t take more than a word or two – or maybe even just the right glance – to get him backstage, and then the deal is sealed.

He’s not using them, at least not any more than they’re using him. Everyone gets what they want out of the interaction, which is to say that no one gets what they want. None of the pretty young things get to keep him for more than a night, and he never gets more than a couple hours of distraction before it’s on to the next show, the next city, the next fucking night and he has to do it all over again – wind him up and watch him go.

Yellow catcrow enjoyers I come bearing not one, but TWO new catcrow fics written as part of a collaboration with my incredible beloved most wonderful @anything-thats-rock-and-roll .

30/12/24 these two fics were literally just two ideas saved in separate docs with a handful of words in when we thought - why not?

It’s been a whirlwind of like. 30 hours at the very most but here suddenly they exist! Both can be read as standalones, but it’s definitely worth reading both (and not because I’m biased)!!

One of my favorite snippets from a new ghostcrow oneshot I'm putting together

Monty arrived at the park first, as was expected. With barely a single thought, he made a beeline to the swingset. As he propelled himself higher and higher, the wind rushing through his dark hair as though he were a bird in flight, Monty could not help but let his mind drift.

After all the years of his youth existing under the stifling control of his mother’s thumb, Monty had never thought that he would be allowed to express such open affection for a partner- let alone two of them! Holding hands during walks around town, tender glances exchanged under the open expanse of the sky, adoring kisses pressed to parted lips as the warm rays of the sun bore witness to their love- Every moment he spent with the loves of his life consisted of incredible revelation after revelation.

Every shared laugh twisting together on the breeze, every beautiful memory born on the wings of their adoration, every merciful caress of their bodies against his, chased away the shadow of doubt that lingered in his mind. Monty Finch allowed the bright, beckoning lights of Edwin Payne's swaying lantern and Charles Rowland’s sunny torch beam to illuminate the darkest parts of his mind, dispelling the recollection of years spent wading through agony and silence.

He never would have thought that love could feel this… This liberating.

He never imagined that the shackles of his mother’s dominance would fall from his wrists, giving way under the fire of Charles’ protective fury and the ice of Edwin’s contempt for the treatment of her son. He never imagined that under their tender, careful ministrations, his battered wings would be allowed to extend from a spine so accustomed to bending to others’ wills and whims, permitting him to take a wild, terrifying leap and soar.

And as Monty pushed himself higher and higher, the early spring sun warming the exhilarated grin stretching across his face on every upswing, he almost swore he could feel the presence of those wings once more, the breeze twisting through feathers and the sunlight bursting warm and welcome across great, arching joints.

Just one more push, one more kick, one more euphoric pump of his legs, and he’d be high enough... He’d be close enough to the sky that he could let go of the cold plastic and the creaking chain and the feel of woodchips under his feet… One more repetition, and he would finally spread his trembling wings, and he would jump, and he would let the wind curl and twist under his too-heavy limbs as it caught him and he flew-

but you'd stand up for him as much as they didn't like it

you knew monty wasn't a bad person, but you couldn't prove it

you saw a side of monty that they didn't

little did you know monty would be perched on the outer windowsill listening, back in his crow form

he appreciated it so much to the point he wanted to cry

he wanted to go in and apologize for everything he did and warn you guys about the house since they wanted to go in there and save the little girl
