worldbuilding thing I've been wondering about:

how do you handle gender identity, gender expression, and/or gender stereotypes, within your omegaverse writings?

this goes for ocs and for fanfics!

if alphas are physically male in the way we'd consider a human to be physically male, that's a statement on their sex, yeah? not their gender.

you can have the body parts implied there and still be a gender that is not "man". so how's that work for omegaverse? especially if alphas can be male or female.

how do you describe gender within your omegaverse? is it based more around dynamic / secondary? (alpha/beta/omega) or around sex? (male/female/others if they apply)

do people get gendered expectations assigned to them based on their sex, on their dynamic, on the combination of both?

(ex: is there a difference between the gender roles given to a female omega versus a male omega? are the stereotypes for a male beta like or unlike those of a male omega?)

could there be such a difference between female alphas, female betas, and female omegas, that only some female people are considered women, while others are labeled with some other term due to their dynamic? or are all female people considered to be women? (assuming they're all cisgender...but if you've got trans headcanons I wanna hear those too!)

I'm curious about this because it's reasonable to say something like "our image of what is masculine appearance / behavior is shaped by our society and time period," right? (since male doesn't have to equal man or masculine, but there's often some connection)

but that structure wouldn't be built from the same stuff in omegaverse. since behaviors and such could be associated with different groups.

so...if a male alpha is seen as a feminine presenting person, what does that mean in your verse?

are masculine and feminine less about what exists in your verse and more about the limitations of our own language?

is it something else altogether?

Alright time for Vice- Captain Hoshina's brawl aganist Kaiju No.8 only this it's a fight to capture No.8 instead of kill, I just imagine as Kafka dodgeing and running Hoshina's asking a bunch of pointed question about Kafka and Rider.

Something that he probably has to tell Ai to calm down about as it doesn't like the pointed questions about there welp, there still upset about No.9 twisted interest about there young welps

Even though Kafka's facial expressions are harder to tell in Kaiju form, Hoshina can recognize them. The surprise, concern and determination already painted the picture. Kaiju No. 8 does have a parental connection towards Rider alongside their companions.

Ai is already riled up from No. 9. He's knows Hoshina isn't a threat but his primal instincts are trying to override rationality. Kafka has his focus split between defending himself against the Vice Captain and helping Ai not drown in animosity.

Poor Hoshina was not ready for No. 8 to howl 'STAY AWAY' with a roar so intense that the man is sent flying back. (Think Tigrex.) If his ears weren't ringing, he could've sworn the voice sounded eeriely familiar despite the distortion. Kaiju No.8 may have gotten away but Hoshina did receive some very important answers.

I just finished the second book in Lily Mayne's Monstrous series and Edin & Hunter made me cry. 😭

MASTER RANK. FINALLY. I DONE IT

aaand, that's all the rider card titles in the game! I technically 100%ed this save a few years ago, because you don't need all titles, just all the achievements. (part of this process included me printing out a giant checklist of every monster gene in the game. and then tracking down every single one of them. because this game! does NOT tell you which genes you've already had before! so even if you've hatched plenty of monsters, if you released one without taking note of every gene it had? yeah you're gonna have to go find those all over again just to make sure you HAVE actually had them.)

The rest of the achievements are a decent bit easier, aside from tracking down all 100 Poogies (little collectible pig guys) (someone uploaded an entire imgur album of their locations. I am so glad.) Otherwise it's just stuff like clearing parts of the story or clearing all the subquests, stuff you wind up doing anyways.

THOUGH. there's achievements for getting high enough battle ranks in the online mode, too. These aren't very hard to reach and the achievements just go up to S rank. So for a few years I was under the impression that was the maximum and I didn't have to worry about any more online battle stuff.

....except about a month or so ago i was grinding for the online-only DLC items, and hit S+. huh. which gives you a few titles. And then hit S++. and then it turns out there's a Master rank, which requires 300 total battles, and a win rate of 70%. There's two different win rates the game keeps track of, your overall win rate across every battle, and then just the last 20. THANKFULLY, the battle ranks only look at that second win rate. So not a hard achievement to get if you coordinate with someone else online, but otherwise insanely easy to miss.

...finding the criteria for Master rank was also really difficult seeing as there's like.... two posts about it. on the entire internet. great. MHS2 unfortunately takes up a ton of search results for this game, which sucks because some of the mechanics here are REALLY weird and never explained.

There ARE other titles in the game unrelated to any achievements or progression, but they're all just for slaying 5/10/15 of a given monster, which isn't too hard, aside from keeping track of stuff like all the recolors of small monsters.

I haven't fully upgraded every armor set/weapon but aside from that! Totally 100%ed! ...somehow i only have 500 hours here!

Not to spoil much of the manga but No.10 can be a bro when he wants to be.

Anyway with Rider having to get used to there transformed state Kafka will definitely be the first in line to take on a teaching role. Also when No.10 finds out about Rider's transformation, that will probably right then and there cement that he made the best decision going with the Defense Force

You have no idea. Despite being stuck under the Defense Force's watchful eye, No. 10 never had so much fun in his life. They provide him with plenty of fun opponents to fight against that he doesn't really care if he's only allowed to kill Kaiju.

No.10 only finds out once he notices Rider has been missing for quite awhile and how distraught Hoshina looks. To say the Kaiju was upset is a slight understatement. He may have gotten attached to the weird human whelp so them nearly dying from forced kaijufication is crossing a personal line.

No one is wiping out one of his rivals, fucked up gift or not. 10 does help train Rider once they're recovered enough to do so under Hoshina's watch. His original strength may be diminished but he can still whip the young whelp into fighting shape.

Like I said before, No. 10 is Beelzemon coded and y'all can fight me on this.
