Hambúrguer com Cabernet Franc — combinou e ficou muito gostoso!! 🇨🇱 O vinho é o “La Junta Grand Reserve CabFranc 2019” da @LaJuntaWines — um Cabernet Franc monovarietal do Vale de Curicó (no Vale Central do Chile). As uvas foram colhidas a mão, vinificadas em tanques de inox e 80% do vinho amadureceu 12 meses em barricas de carvalho francês de primeiro e segundo uso. 🍷 Na taça, cor rubi intensa. Os aromas mostram frutas vermelhas maduras, menta, ervas frescas e um leve toque defumado. Na boca é seco, tem corpo médio, acidez média+ e taninos médios+ de ótima qualidade. Repete frutas e ervas, com alguma mineralidade e moderada persistência. 📝 Belo vinho, com bastante frescor, equilíbrio e fruta gostosa. Foi muito bem com o hambúrguer! How did Ronda come to be associated with the best in fine wine? 

The western part of the Málaga province known as the Serranía de Ronda has been linked to winemaking for a lot longer than many people might realise. Wine was grown here initially by the Phoenicians, and then later by the Romans, who sent wine from Acinipo to Málaga, and then on to Rome. 

Acinipo, by the way, was a Roman city situated about 14 kilometres away from Ronda. Its ruins can still be visited today, which could make it an excellent spot to incorporate into your sightseeing in Ronda and the broader region. Indeed, artefacts found at Acinipo have included coins with a design featuring a bunch of grapes, and it is thought that even the very name Acinipo could mean ‘city of wine’. 

But enough about the more distant past; much more recent years have seen stellar growth in the numbers of wines produced in the Serranía de Ronda, and that shouldn’t be such a big surprise. After all, the combination of the high elevation and climate of this region lends itself beautifully to wine growing, with the vineyards here all situated at altitudes of 750m or above. 

As for the wines themselves, you can expect them to be fruity, spicy, and with no shortage of attitude. This helps explain why so many people are drawn to the vineyards and wineries (“bodegas”) in one of Spain’s highest regions. Expect to be able to sample many fine monovarietals and red blends from Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, and Petit Verdot, along with satisfying rosé and white wines.

The grapes for the production of our wines come from vineyards over 50 years old located in Labastida and Páganos, in the heart of Rioja Alavesa, privileged situations due to their altitude around 600-700 meters and their particular microclimate, favorable for the production of quality grapes.

The lands where our vineyards are located are arcillocalcáreo soils. Its north-south orientation and conduction on high trellises allows optimal quality in production, as well as a lower incidence of diseases and greater interception of solar radiation.

Este é o delicioso “Ombú Reserve Syrah 2019” da @BraccoBoscaWinery — uma das minhas vinícolas queridinhas no Uruguai, localizada em Atlantida (muito perto do mar). Este vinho é um monovarietal da uva Syrah com estágio de 5 meses em barricas de carvalho. 🍷 Cor vermelho-rubi de média intensidade. Aromas de frutas negras (amora, mirtilo e ameixa), pimenta-do-reino, um leve terroso e, depois, um toque tostado. Em boca tem corpo médio, acidez média+ e taninos moderados e macios.
