This is so shanks coded to me. Like he just keeps losing people and he never learns how to deal with it. So much so that he becomes the abandoning parent. He literally knows nothing else all he has as a frame of reference is all the adult figures in his life leaving him and telling him it is for the best. So why exactly wouldn’t he believe that the best way to love someone is by letting go?
He does it to Luffy, he does it to Uta and in some ways he does it to Buggy and Mihawk too. Because he never just asks them to stay. He lets Buggy run out of his life even though it was pretty obvious that Buggy wanted Shanks to fight for this to take a stand a real one on a conviction for once and he…doesn’t, he just lets buggy leave.
And then he hitches his wagon to the most flighty (dude is literally a bird motif 😭) mother fucker he can find. he lets Mihawk wander in and out of his life as he pleases regardless of what is best for either of them. Because maybe Mihawk has nothing better to do 👀. Maybe he would say yes now if Shanks asks. but Shanks would rather die than ask, would cut off his other arm before he even attempted to “clip Mihawk’s wings”
And that’s like the truth of it. Shanks has been abandoned by every person that has ever loved him besides his crew and he knows they will never leave him. But Maybe he just wants someone to stay not because they call him captain.

Time & Space pages 1-2 ( This is the start || ao3 (not yet!) || next ) Starts less than 24 hours after the death of Willy Stampler. With the job done, there's finally time to sort some things out. They just need the right amount of space.

Fans who cite Luffy and Ace as some of their top characters while vocally hating on Sabo and every aspect of his arc are so embarrassing, like baby girl, your faves would actually hate you 😬

✦ They are like the astral soul projections in New God's movies--
Buuuut its host and the projection (but only a few of them) can fuse together in some situations.

New Wukong headcanon!
He is a huge plant nerd, in jttw he's canonically very smart and well studied under subodhi so he's already a nerd, but all that cranks up to 11 with plants.
He collects all sorts of plants from all over the place and sets up habits on his island to let them thrive and he just really enjoys tending to them and watching them grow and thrive, he is the same way with the plants already on the island.
He gets super excited when he notices the plants adapting to the island and changing and becoming something new. One of the coolest things about immortality is seeing plants evolve!
He just thinks they're neat.
He's the nerdiest plant dad ever.
He's also really shy about showing people his plants because he doesn't want anyone messing with them or making fun of him for it (it happened more when he was younger).
When he did show MK his plant hyperfixation, MK quickly clocked it in as very not neurotypical behavior.
Wukong is in fact, not neurotypical.

Going insane thinking about Martlet at the end of the Aborted No Mercy Run.
You have a human standing before you. They have proven themself to be just as dangerous as your mentor said they'd be: through the Dark Ruins, Lower Snowdin, and the Dunes, they had carved out a trail of dust and death and misery. Dozens of your fellow monsters have fallen under their gun.
And yet! This human granted mercy to you and a bunch of half-rusted robots. Is that enough kindness within them to make them worthy of redemption? Should you let them go unpunished? Families have been irreparably destroyed, friends and fellow citizens have been slaughtered on their quest for vengeance. This wasn't some frightened kid defending themself; all of their actions--all of those deaths--were deliberate. If people knew that you took them in, they'd tear down your doors demanding bloodshed for all the grief this human inflicted on the Underground and brand you a villain. No matter what you do, whether it be to kill them or grant them mercy, dozens are dead regardless.
And yet, this human, Clover (though you're the only one who knows their name), isn't attacking you. Even when you've thrown away the only chance you had at defeating them, they're not attacking you. They're listening to your idea about staying with you, they either agree or hesitate at the prospect of staying with you before agreeing. They've agreed to put their tendency towards violence/dustshed behind them and to try to be peaceful. You've never been quite sure if you've made the best choices until after you've made them, but this one? In this moment, this one results in the least amount of violence and death between the two of you.
Is this the best choice and outcome for this situation? I don't know, I'm not qualified enough to answer that. But if it wasn't for Flowey's meddling, it would have worked.

I came across one of those tiktok slideshows about how Zoro never betrayed Luffy unlike other members (they think straw hats who left the crew at one point "betrayed" Luffy) and all the comments were like "They all had valid reasons and they didn't betray him!!! Except for Usopp."
😧😧😧
WHAT DO YOU MEAN???? USOPP DIDN'T BETRAY HIM EITHER WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE
Everyone lacks media literacy and I'm taking water 7 away from the fandom.

ren and false shared fanbase is great because we're wailing and combusting and going insane and it's silent out there. they did the bit for like fifty people max and it was sweet but also lowkey flabbergasting so no one's even posted a screenshot of it publicly. speechless. this is a whole bit about a trophy from a race that is a year ago. it's so. specific to their shared lore. and then they fucked off to play tcg. truly only they can pull this off.

After watching Episode 12 I really need Mr. "It's the cast of the Beijing Opera! >:D" and "I use theater to playact my insecurities and get really into stage direction and critiquing the roles" to get locked in a room together with Mr. "I use literary tropes and character roles to define and explain both myself and the world and you will pry this out of my cold, undead hands" and "writes and puts on an entire play to really stick it to a kid and then gets upset when he doesn't understand it" with nothing but a script, a knife, and the question, "But what was the playwright's vision for the supporting male lead?"
