Rick Gordon and Commander Keith
Fellow Voltron fans, this is getting exciting. Defenders of Arus looks absolutely awesome. In a nutshell, the Defenders of the Earth end up stranded on Planet Arus, where they help the Voltron Force battle the newly combined armies of Mongo and Doom. Of course, amid the adventures, there could be several personal matters to explore, including some new romances. Rick and Allura would certainly look beautiful together, and they have some issues in common, such as continuing their family legacies. Might a few of the original characters be landing on the planet as well? Let's see where this goes.

"Too many characters!"
A presentation about the argument often thrown against Vehicle Voltron/DaiRugger regarding the large cast of characters. And while I do agree with some of the points, a lot of people like to make it out to be a bigger problem than it actually is. Especially considering the times the show was created in and the genre itself.
But alas, the link to a presentation because I'm too lazy to convert this into a text post. Better viewed via demonstration mode.

Feel free to call me a clown who doesn't know how writing works. I think the bigger problem regarding characters should be the fact that almost all "bad" Galveston officers are underdeveloped and produce little food for thought. The only exceptions I can think of are Barataria (his rebellion caused me to look deeper into what Galveston military conditions their officers to) and Captain Marius. The latter is the captain of the fleet from that one episode when Galveston and Earth Fleet had a joint survey mission. But everything went wrong not because of Marius' own ambitions or him being evil but because he was powerless to Laffite who at the time was given full authority over the survey mission. Something Teles knew was a bad idea but had no say in the situation.
So, Marius lowkey caused the entire war. But how he did it was interesting.

Drule Character Bios
I’ve discussed the Drules as a people on this blog before but haven’t talk about the individual characters very much besides Hazar and Dorma. Therefore I’ve written some brief biographies about some of the Drules in the Vehicle Voltron season of Voltron: Defender of the Universe. Keep in mind this is not a complete list of all the Drule characters. There are A LOT of them, so I’ve narrowed it down to the ones who either played a major role in the series or who I personally found memorable. I might add more characters to this list later but for now I think I’ve covered most of the notable Drules.
Name: Emperor Zeppo
Dairugger Name: Emperor Corsair
About: A greedy, power hungry schemer. He manages to avoid capture by promising Hazar he’ll give up his war making ways if the rebels let him go. However, upon escape he makes for planet Dema where he’s secretly building up a new army to resume his conquests.
Episode to shine: Zeppo’s role isn’t nearly as large as you’d think. He doesn’t get much screen time until late in the series.
Name: Grand Viceroy Throk
Dairugger Name: Supreme Commander Al Caponero
About: Throk is one of the most power hungry, prideful, and outspoken members of the Supreme Council. He’s vocally opposed any sort of cooperation with the Galaxy Alliance, seeing them as invaders out to steal planets that rightly belong to the Drule Empire. Not only that, but sees making peace with the Alliance as an insult to the Drule’s honor, something he ties strongly to their military might and conquests, and pride. He absolutely hates Hazar for his attempts at peacemaking and, it’s implied, is jealous of Hazar’s power. At one point Throk imprisons Hazar in his palace.
At the end of Vehicle Voltron he and a few other members of the council flee planet Drule and presumably joins Emperor Zeppo on planet Dema.
Episode to shine: Plays a major role in many episodes, but if I had to pick one I’d go with “It’s Anybody’s World.”
Name: Commander Hazar
Dairugger Name: Commander Socrat Teles
About: Is one of the highest ranking officers in the Drule chain of command at the start of the series. While he original hates the Alliance and wants the Drule Empire to dominate the galaxy, he gradually realizes the war is only further endangering his people by wasting time and resources. When he starts reaching to the Alliance in hopes making peace, the Drule command turns against him, leading to his exile and eventual imprisonment. At the end of Vehicle Voltron he leads the rebels in overthrowing Emperor Zeppo.
Episodes to shine: Plays a major role in most episodes.
Name: Captain Twila
Dairugger name: Captain Emma
About: Captain Twila is one of the Drule’s top scientist and the only female Drule officer in the series. She is stubborn, prideful, loyal, and determined to prove her worth as a military officer by any means necessary. At one point she’s injured and taken aboard the S.S. Explorer for treatment. Commander Hawkins attempts convince her to join him and help bring peace between the Alliance and Drules, but Twila doesn’t buy it. She escapes and, more determined than ever to prove her worth, almost gets herself killed trying to destroy Voltron and the Explorer.
Episode to shine: “This World’s For the Birds”
Name: Dorma
Dairugger Name: Sirk
About: A brave and passionate woman dedicated to liberating her people from the rule of the Supreme Council and bringing peace between the Drules and the Alliance. She also deeply loves and admires her brother Hazar. She was once a member of the Supreme Council but, unfortunately, the we never learn why she left the council. After repeatedly trying to convince Hazar to led a rebellion against the Empire to no avail, she ends up joining the Underground Rebel Forces (URF) herself.
Episode to shine: “Color Me Invisible”
Name: Chancellor Mozak
Dairugger Name: Home Secretary Socrat Tes
About: Mozak is Hazar and Dorma’s loving father. Wise, humble, and trustworthy, he’s also one of the very few Supreme Council members not blinded by paranoia or a lust for power. Because of this he’s ignored and undermined by his follow council members. Late in the series Dorma convinces him to assist the URF by pleading their case to the council.
Episode to shine: “Hazar is Demoted”
Name: Marshall Keezor
Dairugger Name: Commander Al Luciano
About: A scheming, nasty, underhanded weasel of a man with an annoying nasally voice. He’s a high ranking member of the Supreme Council and a continual thorn in the side of both Hazar and the Galaxy Alliance. He’s also notable for his brief but significant role in the first Lion Voltron season where he orchestrates the coup to overthrow Zarkon and place Lotor on the throne of planet Doom.
Episode to shine: “A Man Made Sun”
Name: Captain Mongo
Dairugger Name: Captain Drake
About: Honorable, proud, and dependable, Mongo is one of the first Drules to open up to the idea of peace with the Alliance. He’s also Hazar’s best friend and remains loyal to him even after most of the Drule leadership turns against him. About mid-way through the series he goes into self-imposed exile after losing to the Alliance forces.
Episode to shine: “Hazar on the Carpet”
Name: Captain Nerok
Dairugger Name: Captain Lafitte
About: One of the most underhanded, nasty, deadly, and destructive Drule officers. He’s a backstabbing sycophant who’ll do just about anything for power. Seriously, no blow is too low for this guy. His only loyalty is to himself.
Episode to shine: “Nerok Scores Big”
Name: Bakki
Dairugger Name: Bakke
About: Bakki is the leader of the Underground Rebel Forces, which seeks to overthrow Emperor Zeppo and the Supreme Council. He’s deeply concerned for the happiness and well-being for his people, which is his driving motivation. Late in the series he convinces Dorma to join the URF and helps break Hazar out of prison.
Episode to shine: “Color Me Invisible”
Name: Captain Brack
Dairugger Name: Captain Barataria
About: Another paranoid and ambitious Drule officer who believes the Galaxy Alliance is a rival empire out to conquer the universe. He views himself as a patriot and at one point leads an unsuccessful mutiny against Hazar. His fate after the failed revolt is unclear.
Episode to shine: “Who’s On First”
Name: Sandu
Dairugger Name: Sim
About: Trained to be soldier since he was a child, Sandu is a young but loyal subject of the Drule Empire. However, after being injured and taken aboard the Explorer for treatment, Commander Hawkins convinces him the Alliance only desires peace. He could have served as a bridge between the two sides if the Drule command hadn’t labeled him a traitor.
Episode to shine: Only appeared in one episode: “A Temporary Truce”
Name: Lieutenant Antor
Dairugger Name: Captain Antonov
About: A young officer who was in charge of a major Drule supply base until it was captured by the Alliance. He warms up to the Alliance thanks to the kind treatment his men receive after being taken prisoner and their subsequent abandonment by the Drule command.
Episode to shine: Only appears in “That’s the Old Ball Game”

Some wonderful Vehicle Voltron things
They keep trying to do the "they're robots so it's okay" thing but have accidentally let slip that the Drule soldiers are largely teenage boys anyway
They also just let a whole ship of people actually textually die once, like they just gave up on the Diarugger footage and admitted to it
But also it was too fucking sad that one of the aforementioned teenage boys died so they just fucking lie to the viewer's face and say he's in sick bay and imply they're shipping him to Earth or something
At one point they just start pretending one of the characters is a different person and rename him; same face syndrome isn't a thing in Dairugger so it isn't fooling anyone who's binging these episodes
He goes from Melvor to Mongo, which is by itself hilarious
It's really obvious that Hazar actually does want peace but they keep flip flopping on how they're going to play this (from "I just want to TRICK Voltron Force" to openly talking about peace to his angry council)
COMPLETE confusion on the Drule empire's relationship with Planet Doom, like between this and the footage spliced into Lion Voltron it's impossible to tell who was supposed to be in charge
They've reused footage of Hawkins tricking the Voltron team leaders into thinking they're gonna have to eat bad cooking (as punishment) only to discover it's good like three times so far and I just think it's charming how funny they apparently found that
Every so often they suddenly pad an episode and you have NO idea what they must have cut
Hawkins is played as an aggressive peacenik with regards to war but he clearly has no problem with punching a racist across the cafeteria and that's good energy for 2020
Some awful Vehicle Voltron things
The choice.... Of accents
This is more a Dairugger thing but the fact that it took over fifteen episodes for me to notice a human background character that wasn't white or Japanese
Also a Dairugger thing: the careful formula of one girl per robot team gets painfully obvious when there's three teams and they all look like that, like seriously you guys you aren't even developing most of these characters you can have more than three women Voltron pilots
Again, the fuckin choice to give the blue alien members of the alliance mostly bad Indian accents (this starts with Dairugger bc designs but ugh)
That Thing where they forget plot points from previous episodes so they kind of bullshit their way through what's obviously the Dairugger cast discussing it

How about Dorma?
For a potential VLD style sequel series, I see her personality staying about the same, but being more defined and having more drive like the rest of the female characters in VLD. (Like maybe Hazar tells Dorma about what the Drule are planning, but doesn’t believe him until she sees the truth for herself.) I can see such a series either making her his sibling like Vehicle Voltron or just comrades like Dairuggar.
As for my fic, Dorma is a character in that, but she is also fused with Mongo as well, taking up a lot of his roles as well. Like Mongo, she’s just Hazar’s closet friend and teammate, being like an anchor for him in a lot of ways. Even after Hazar defects and becomes a paladin, she is supportive of him and leaks info back to the paladins to help them. Like Dorma, she starts off believing in the empire and questioning Hazar a bit. It isn’t until she sees what Hazar is talking about for herself that she switches sides.
She’s on the same squad as Hazar, being a general under his command. (Think Lotor’s squad in VLD, but under Hazar, who takes orders from someone else). She’s also the hacker of the team she’s on, being kinda of the “Pidge” of that team in some ways.
Personality wise, she’s level headed, witty, sarcastic, clever, anxious and friendly, but she isn’t afraid to speak her mind and help out those dear to her. Kinda like Wendy (Gravity Falls) or Winry (FMAB).
As for whether or not they are siblings, they’re either just siblings or just friends. (Still haven’t decided that one)

In the Enemy Camp
I said previously that I wanted to do a write up for the Vehicle Voltron episode “In the Enemy Camp” and, well, here it is. Episodes like this really highlight just how different Vehicle Voltron is from Lion Voltron in both content and tone. And, honestly, as much as people harp on about how the size of VV’s cast hurt the show, I’d argue this difference in tone possibly did more damage. LV set up a popular formula; it was a monster of the day show, fantastical, action oriented, often featured outlandish scenarios, and fast paced. Then comes along the Vehicle Voltron season of DoTU which is, well, very different, as you’re about to see.
Our story begins with Commander Hawkins flying down from the Explorer to meet with Colonel Cross, who is overseeing the construction of a supply base on an unnamed planet. Cross quickly picks up that Hawkins is on edge and asks him what’s on his mind. Hawkins explains that the Drules consider this area of space, Sector B, their territory and will see the construction of a base here as an act of war. When Cross explains this is only a temporary supply base, Hawkins points out that Hazar won’t understand that. Cross tells Hawkins he must find Hazar and convince him the Alliance means no harm.
We cut to Hazar and a handful of other Drule leaders - Brack, Mongo, and Nerok - discussing Hawkin’s proposal for peace negotiations. Brack is staunchly against it, believing these negations are nothing more than a trick and a distraction from the Alliance building bases in their territory. Hazar, however, feels such talks might be productive. After all, the Alliance and the Drule Empire have similar goals in their search for new planets and the war is a huge drain on their resources. Brack counters that the Alliance is an intruder in their part of space, and thus should not be allowed to gain a foothold. Mongo, however, voices his agreement with Hazar and doesn’t see the harm in opening talks with the Alliance.
Mongo makes contact with the Explorer to express his willingness to negotiate a truce with Hawkins. However, Hawkins explains he’s only authorized to negotiate with Hazar and points out Mongo isn’t in the position to make ultimate decisions. Mongo more or less tells Hawkins it’s the Drule way or the highway; Hawkins, under Drule protocol, is considered too low ranking to speak with Hazar directly. It’s him or nothing. The two agree for Hawkins to come aboard Mongo’s ship so they can talk in person.
However, just as Hawkins’ shuttle is docking on the Drule ship, Brack informs Mongo that he’s taking advantage of these talks to launch an attack on the Alliance base. When an enraged Mongo demands to know how Brack could do such thing, Brack just tells Mongo to keep Hawkins distracted as long as possible. While Mongo is deeply upset, he doesn’t have the power to stop Brack.
While Mongo and Hawkins begin their talks, Brack’s fleet heads towards the Alliance’s base, sending a wave of apprehension through the Explorer’s crew. The Voltron Force is divided on what this could mean, which some members like Jeff remaining optimistic while others, like Krik, believe this is a bad sign and fear Hawkins will be taken hostage.
Back on Mongo’s ship, Hawkins points out the Alliance and Drule’s shared need for new planets and that a joint exploration force would be the best for both sides. Mongo, while he cannot fully disclose just how dire the Drule’s situation is, admits that their need is immediate and that a joint force will only slow them down. He then points out how the Alliance’s construction of a base on a Drule controlled world flies in the face of Hawkin’s desire for peace. Hawkins explains he was against the base’s construction and promises to dismantle it should the Drules agree to join with the Alliance. However, Mongo refuses to budge; dismantle the base immediately, he orders, and THEN they’ll talk about joining forces.
Brack’s fleet attacks the Alliance’s base. Cross and his forces try to hold their ground but they’re taking a beating. The situation goes from bad to worse when Brack unleashes a robeast. Mongo and Hawkins are still locked in a stalemate when a guard rushes into the conference room with the bad news. At first Hawkins is outraged, thinking Mongo had tricked him, but quickly calms down when Mongo explains Brack is acting alone. The two men shake hands with the hopes they’ll someday resume these talks and Hawkins leaves for the Explorer. Mongo, furious at Brack, has his own fleet retreat, leaving Brack to face the Alliance’s forces alone.
With Hawkins safely back on the Explorer, the Voltron Force is commanded to launch. They make quick work of the robeast and drive back Brack’s fleet but their victory, as Cross points out, is a hollow one. The base was completely destroyed and they should have been able to talk things out with the Drules. Hawkins, however, takes comfort in the existence of honorable Drules like Mongo and believes there’s still hope for a peaceful universe.
Episodes like this one really highlight the tonal and subject matter difference between LV and VV. The situations in VV are more complex than those in LV, it’s slower paced, there’s more focus on politics and intrigue, and takes place in a hard scifi setting. In this specific episode, the real enemy isn’t a giant monster or evil emperor, but rather paranoia and an unwillingness to compromise. I am not saying that one is superior to the other, just that they’re different. And, I suspect a lot of kids grew to love LV’s formula and reacted badly when VV came along and changed things.

What are your favorite and least favorite episodes of DoTU?
Let’s see…
Favorite Lion Voltron Episodes:
The Captive Comet
Enter Merla: Queen of Darkness
To Soothe the Savage Robeast
Least Favorite LV Episodes:
Mousemania
A Ghost of a Chance - mainly because of how contrived the resolution is. LV as a whole used Alfor WAY too often as a plot device to solve problems and this episode is probably the worst of example of that tendency.
Favorite VV Episodes:
A Temporary Truce
In the Enemy Camp - Want to write a piece about this episode at some point. Basically Hawkins goes aboard a Drule ship to negotiate with Hazar’s right hand man Mongo. Lots of interesting stuff going on here.
Color Me Invisible - Really great episode for Dorma. Would like to write about this episode as well.
The Drules’ World Cracks Up
Least Favorite VV Episodes:Coconuts - Shock! “Why Haggie,” you cry, “what do you mean that an episode with a title like Coconuts is stupid?!” The Dairugger version of the episode, Defend the Third Planet, is actually pretty good. Sadly, WEP made story changes that pretty much ruined this particular ep.
Red Moon Rises Again - I can’t blame WEP for this turd as the Dairugger episode, The Boy Denon and the Elk, was also awful.

*slides up in an wheeling-office chair* So, can you tell me anything about Hazar? If he is in VLD or in some hypothetical squeal series, what do you imagine him being like?
I really should write a detailed post about Hazar and some of the other major VV characters like Jeff and Hawkins at some point, shouldn’t I? But for now I’ll give you a brief run down of his character.
Hazar is, at the start of Vehicle Voltron, one the Drule Empire’s highest ranking warlords. His family consists of his sister Dorma, his father Chancellor Mozak, and an unnamed mother. His family is powerful, wealthy and highly cultured. Hazar enjoys art and has a large private collection. His closest friend is Captain Mongo, who remained one of Hazar’s few allies once he started to seek peace with the Alliance.
During the course of Vehicle Voltron he goes from warlord, to conflicted, to peacemaker. At first he’s one of the main antagonists but as time goes on Hazar starts to wonder if peaceful cooperation with the Galaxy Alliance in search for new worlds would benefit his people more than conquest. After all, the Drules only need one new world, not the galaxy, and the war proves to be a huge waste of resources, with entire habitable planets being completely destroyed by the Drules and Alliance fighting over them.
His attempts at peacemaking eventually get him demoted and exiled to the desolate world of Dreska. Dorma tries to needle him into taking leadership of the rebellion against Emperor Zeppo and the Drule Council but he feels too powerless to act. However, with Dorma’s help he does eventually try to reopen peace talks with the Galaxy Alliance. This eventually gets him imprisoned. Hazar is freed by Dorma and the rebels, who then, with Vehicle Voltron’s help, dethrone Emperor Zeppo. As the Drule people celebrate their freedom and relocation to a new planet they call for Hazar to be crowned emperor, which Hazar rejects.
What do I think he’d be like in VLD? Well, I think it’s rather late in the game to bring him in. Still, with the Drule Empire fractured, maybe he’ll become the leader a Galra fraction disinterested in war. As for a possible sequel series, well, after the war is over, I suspect the Galra will be in a very bad place. Their empire is gone and they now have to answer for their crimes. Hazar could be someone struggling to secure his now powerless and (understandably) hated people a place in this new order. I admit, I’ve also toyed with Hazar and Dorma being alternate reality Alteans who come to oppose the Altean Empire.

Who do you think might be Dorma in vld?
If Dorma appears in VLD, then I assume that Hazar comes with her, but since Lotor taking up some of Hazar’s quasi-Byronic antagonist space, then Dorma might just appear alone.
In which case, there are three things about her from Vehicle Voltron that apply here:
Dorma is an officer and loyal to Hazar, she starts showing up after too many of Hazar’s subordinates and fellow commanders begin undermining him. She is also nearly always stoic. She only shows strong emotion when Hazar is relieved of command, and then once again when she’s reunited with Hazar after he’s rescued. She defends Hazar against Borgam with a line that is delivered with the same steel as Acxa’s “You dare to…” line to the Puigian leader.
Dorma’s stoic-by-the-book officer vibe and close tie to Hazar means that—if she doesn’t otherwise show up—then that’s partly because she isn’t needed as her primary character traits exist in Acxa who fulfills a similar role to Lotor that Dorma does to Hazar (only not being related). In my Lotor and Hazar post, I compare Acxa’s loyal to Lotor as like that of Mongo to Hazar, but Dorma’s loyalty to Hazar and position fit here as well.
Dorma is part of the rebellion against the Drule leadership. Though, she only helps them after they abduct her and it’s in exchange for their help in rescuing Hazar. Conceptually, this places Dorma as a rebel, and we already know what the rebels in VLD look like except for this one:
I’ve seen this idea floated around—and it’s a good one—but I’m on the fence about it. The gloves are really large in comparison to the rest of the body which tells me that the proportions of whatever she is are not like those of Alteans (if this rebel is Romelle and Romelle is Altean) nor Galra of similar height (if Galra have completely replaced Drule in VLD and Dorma is Galra).
Since Dorma was a rebel in Vehicle Voltron, just as Romelle was a rebel in Lion Voltron, then they both have a good chance at being this masked character, but Romelle’s chance is higher since she’s from Lion Voltron.
Dorma is Drule aristocracy and her father is a senator which gives her a political role (though minor in Vehicle Voltron). So, we have yet to see anymore about these other planets that Lotor added to the empire but allowed to rule themselves. If there is more to that plot thread than just a way to quickly characterize Lotor without devoting screen time to backstory, then that is an opportunity for characters like Dorma and Hazar (as actual Drules and not Galra) to show up. Either as allies that Lotor can call upon, or some other outside faction to cause a problem if S5-S6 resolves the primary conflict with Zarkon. Personally, I would love this but…
I think that this is unlikely, mostly due to both Lotor and Acxa taking up Hazar and Dorma’s conceptual space while fitting in better within the setting of VLD. Looking at the image above—Dorma is flying Hazar to their parents’ home as he has returned to face the wrath of the Drule War Council—one could do an edit with Acxa and Lotor in their place, and the aesthetic and facial expressions would work.
Because of this “space already taken” problem, Dorma would have to be changed quite a bit to fit the setting (same problem that Merla has), unless the setting does a genre shift, and given how that worked out in DotU in the shift between Lion and Vehicle Voltron, I don’t see it happening. It’s an unfortunately problem with most of the Vehicle Voltron characters. Subtle references are more likely than not.
The other thing is that once you strip these characters of context and their relationships to each other, only their archetypes remain and it’s easy to see those archetypes show up in new characters that the VLD writers likely never intended to be a reference to older characters. There are already so many great new characters, that I’d err on the side of giving them time to be developed, rather than trying to fit characters like Dorma in.
Perhaps if enough interest in Vehicle Voltron takes off, then Dreamworks might take note and tackle that as a separate series. *slides Dreamworks all her disposable income*

You know, as much as I would love to keep going, I think it’s best to watch this show in small amounts, pace myself, and not get burnt out.
That being said, I watched another five episodes of Voltron: Defender of the Universe.
To be expected, some things I vaguely recall to an extent from DaiRugger. Of course, there are definite changes.
Let’s start with episode 11.
Hello Sandu.
It’s nice seeing a Drule boy aboard the Explorer and being peaceful with the others. Or at least as peaceful as anyone can be with Shannon being bitter. But we’ll get to him in a bit.
I love just how reasonable Hawkins can be. He doesn’t see Sandu as just some “Drule soldier”, he sees someone who needs help, recovery, and who could help them seek peace between the Drules and Galaxy Alliance. And offering hot chocolate, in my experience, cocoa often makes everything better. Unimportant, but I had hot cocoa earlier today when I was in a mood and it made things better for me.
Now I’m going to be honest, I do understand why Shannon’s angry about Sandu and the Drule. As much as my siblings and I butt heads, I’d be a little miffed, too, if they were captured. Well, if some were captured. Some of the others, well, then they’d be the enemy’s problem then. But anger doesn’t get anyone anywhere. Well, at least he learns. And it doesn’t take a number of episodes. Yeah, I”m looking at you, VLD Allura. But at least you, too learned to get past it. And no one had to punch you like Hawkins hit Shannon.
And I’m glad Sandu decided to seek peace with Shannon, too. Bless.
Everyone working on Sandu’s ship, regardless of if I’m watching DaiRugger or Voltron, will always amuse me. But really guys, have none of you ever taken a course in mechanical engineering? Goodness.
I’m pleased that technically Sandu didn’t die. I didn’t cry, but I had feels watching DaiRugger, if memory serves me right.
Also! Fun fact! This episode (or rather the DaiRugger version, but still,) is what had inspired one of my chapters for my VV/VLD fic! Having Shannon bitter about the Galra but getting past it.
Okay, that took a moment to write.
Now on to episode 12.
I adore getting a touch on Wolo’s background. It’s nice and letting his memories both distract him but also help when fighting against the next robeast. Perfection.
oh! Hazar shower scene!
Episode 13 comes next.
Krik’s voice and accent. It doesn’t annoy me. But I’ll be damned, I sometimes mistake what he says. When he said “pack up and go home”, it literally sounded like he said “fuck off and go home”. I had to do a double take on that one.
Let’s dance on over to episode 14 and be hit with cuteness. Chip. Is. Short. He can’t see past the others. But at least Rocky is a good friend and picks him up. I can see Pidge and Hunk doing that. Be it DotU or VLD.
“The end result was mass hysteria.” And then they cut to people jamming to music, the guy on the sax stopping briefly as planes go past then he continues the music. Oh yes. Plenty of hysteria.
And finally, episode 15.
In DaiRugger, Mongo, or Drake as I think I remember him being called, seemed like a pleasant guy and I was fond of him. And I’m fond of Mongo. I like that he’s trying to make a sort of effort for peace in talking with Hawkins.
He also reminds me a smidgen of Commander Bogh in VLD. He, too, was reasonable and willing to work with others for the sake of his base/people. It’s such good energy.
“Sir, we’re outmatched!”
“Don’t you ever say that I’m outmatched!”
“Correction, I should have said outwitted.”
Oh. OOOOOH! Burn. That is a brilliant insult and I love it.
Anyway! That’s it for the night. A lovely watch night of Voltron: Defender of the Universe.
I hope y’all are enjoying my input when watching this show. To be honest, I don’t know what I should be saying half the time, so what my thoughts or what I like seems like a good thing.
Well, until next time.
